Another RWBY initiation Headcanon but I fully believe that all four Academies do Initiation very differently.

It causes chaos for students from other kingdoms who think they know what they’re in for only for it to not be that.

Beacon: tossed off a cliff, first person you meet is your partner, items make a team, absolutely no outside interference. (Canon)

Shade: dropped into the desert and have to make it to designated coordinates as well as finding an item. Teams assigned based on collaboration during the challenge. (Canon)

Haven: Pre-assigned teams based on transcripts and a race up one of the mountains surrounding Haven. (Headcanon)

Atlas: a formal event with students, teachers, politicians and military personnel in attendance, teams are assigned through student transcripts and comparability assessments. (Headcanon)

When students from one Kingdom go to another for training, how they do depends on how much research they did…

Should I even mention that I absolutely loved drawing these two? The first three Volumes of RWBY have such a special place in my heart, so I enjoyed going back to the old designs. And if Penny in Beacon uniform is not a new idea (after all, she expressed her wish to stay at Beacon), Blake going to Altas is a pretty fresh and unexpected take, at least for me. Okay here's my color sketch of Atlas Academy's uniform. In my AU, Atlas Academy splits the students into 2 differents forces: Normal huntsmen(Black beret) and Military huntsmen(Red beret).

They're penguins.

The academic year often begins in September... That's how I came up with the idea of little Weiss hugging Winter goodbye before she leaves for Atlas Academy.

It must've been the first time Schnee sisters had to be apart for so long. So I imagine Weiss took it hard and didn't want her big sis to go 🥺 And if Winter is 17 here, then Weiss would be about 10 in my view.
