Since we're celebrating the Stargate Anniverary fest for both SGA (20 years) and Stargate: The Movie (30 year), thought we'd throw another opportunity to join in the fun.

What is a 'microfic' -- as used on Tumblr, a microfic is 50 words. Half a drabble. Now, we're not going to be the microfic police. If you want to write more or less than 50 words for any of these prompts, you're more than welcome to do so. But a goal of 50-ish words is a challenge. Or, heck, do art... icons, drawbles... whatever you think fits is good enough for us.

i put a submarine from a movie in space:

Very cool! We love it when the ocean and the vast void of space give each other a smooch

But like the idea of a submarine like ships is very cool. Really puts emphasis on how there's only metal between you and space. Causes rockets and scifi ships can look way too cool. Put a good ol' submarine up there and you're reminded of spaces violent beauty. The pressure of dark matter all around you like the deep sea, the difference is that there's no way up in space.

Woke up at 3:30am, can’t go back to sleep. I know I need exercise but all I want to do is just stay in bed every day. Why is life so rough on my psyche?

My queerness isn’t just a logical label for my patterns of attraction anymore. It’s visceral and dynamic. It’s an unbelievable drive. It’s something I know in my body and it’s there.

It feels like the lost city of Atlantis rising from the sea. This gigantic complex of castles and fortresses that I technically knew existed but had no idea what it was actually like in real life. And no idea how huge and massive it actually is.

This part of me is so strong. It’s so strong that it feels like it’s bullying me. It’s been an exile so long that now that it’s breathing the free air, it strong-arms the rest of my parts to make up for all the times it was strong-armed.

It’s also never met my boyfriend before. Not the sapphic part. Not the beautiful strong castles of sapphic desire that rise out of the ocean.

Now the task is to talk to that part. Talk to the sapphic part and find out what it needs. There are no bad parts. If it’s bullying me, that means it thinks it needs to in order to survive.

Hi! I have a question : what is the age difference between Arhur and Orm ?

in the aquaman movies they have around a three year age difference so Arthur is 36 while Orm is 33 right now (dceu wiki says Arthur was born in 1986 and Orm was born in 1989)

I’m using their ages from 2022 bc the first movie took place in 2018 and the second movie takes place 4 years after that so

in the comics I honestly don’t know anymore but it’s more than 3 years pretty sure.

i wish the ingame acnh pattern viewer had the dream addresses of users if they have one cos i really really wanna see how they use their codes in the context of their own island yknow ???? and idk exactly how dream search by island name works but it feels like if a pattern is not uploaded by the main player character then its impossible to find if they have a dream or not . yknow

☕️while I'm glad that neither Arthur or Atlanna had signed off on Orm's torture (which I was legitmately concerned about before seeing the film), it's still not great that they apparently hadn't once tried to find out where he was, given that both of them had expressed in the first film that they wanted to talk to him, get through to him especially Arthur. And I know this was partly down to COVID shutting down production and then the DCEU ending, but it's still something that doesn't sit right.

Yeah, that was all... really weird to me. From a strictly political point of view of course they shouldn't question it but like... how did they think he was being treated? They knew he was handed over to the Fishermen kingdom, and it seems like they even knew he was being held on land. How on earth was he supposed to contact Arthur to have a little chat when he's imprisoned by a kingdom that hates him, guarded by vampires, in the middle of a desert?

Besides no Atlantean does well without water. Being deprived of water is pretty much pure torture, and by moving him to the desert the Fishermen very clearly plan to not let him have water? Did Atlanna/Arthur really believe that he was gonna get treated at all well? Of course the Fishermen are gonna hate him and blame him for anything that went down. Of course he's going to be treated horrendously.

From a strictly political viewpoint of course it wouldn't make sense to cause a ruckus over Orm's treatment, and Orm was very much on the "I deserve this its my duty to Atlantis to just suffer" so it may have been a moot point but like. Why is Arthur so resentful to him by the second movie? It just seems odd.

Sea Cryptic! Danny AU- Pt.3

“Aquaman.” Batman swept into the room, beelining straight for the suddenly apprehensive Atlantean king.

“Batman. What can I do for you?”

“Phantom. Does he pay taxes?”

“Pardon?”

Batman makes a low noise that had Aquaman’s danger senses buzzing.

“Does Phantom have to pay taxes. Towards Atlantis.”

“No…? Why?”

“He wanted money, in exchange for… information, of a delicate sort,” Batman said, diplomatically avoiding the topic of Phantom bargaining for the identities of corpses in exchange for a measly $100 dollars per identity. Like a flea market dealer, that one was.

“You encountered Phantom again?” Aquaman perked up.

“Yes. Gotham’s bay is… polluted.” Batman paused. “With victims. Of murder.”

The entire area quieted as heads turned towards the Dark Knight.

“Yes, I am… distantly aware of Gotham’s waters.” By that, Aquaman gets green around the gills whenever he turns his awareness in that direction. There’s a reason he doesn’t enter Gotham, and the Dark Knight’s ban is only half of that reason. “Ah, but you’re correct. For what purpose would Phantom need mortal currency?”

“Hn.”

“Maybe he needs some stuff?” Flash zipped to a stop next to Batman, feet tapping as he dug into the pile of snacks cradled in his arms. “Us mortals are always coming up with new things, maybe he wants to try some games or something?”

Batman tilted his head down, seriously considering Flash’s suggestion. “It’s plausible.”

“Barry, Barry, Barry. He’s old as hell, right? He probably wants to try the new booze!”

“Hal, my man!” Flash fist bumped Green Lantern, who came up. “You’re back! What happened to John?”

“Dunno. He got called somewhere that way,” Green Lantern waved a vague hand towards the left. “Had to deal with a politician or something from that area.” He shrugged, swinging an arm over Barry’s shoulders to put him in a headlock and stealing a chip.

“Huh. Anyways, would our mortal alcohol even work on a demi-god or something?”

“We should ask!” Hal turned towards Batman. “You should ask if he wants to go for a drink, spooky!”

“He’s a child.”

“He’s been around for more than a millennia, Bats.”

“Informational gathering, right, Hal?” Flashgot out of the headlock, quickly munching on his snacks to stop Green Lantern from stealing them.

“Totally. Yup.”

“…Fine.”

“Wait, are we just gonna ignore that Gotham’s waters are full of bodies?”

“Yes.”

“What?” Danny asked, mind half on the bags he’s dragging out of the water and the other half on the essay he has to submit in about four hours.

“Green Lantern wanted to invite you out for a drink.”

Danny turned to the stoic Gotham knight, who had his wrist computer out to log the bodies’ info the moment Danny gave him the information. Some of them even told Danny who murdered them, so Batman could start building cases with solid leads.

Danny’s only twenty. He’s not legal yet but he doesn’t want to give any clues to who he is. How is he supposed to…

Ah!

“Can’t.” Danny shrugged. “I’m not legal. I died when I was fourteen so…��� Danny trailed off, speechless at the drowned puppy face Batman was giving him. What the fuck.

“Anyways, fork over my payment.”

Batman wordlessly hands him a wad of hundreds.

“What do you need cash for?” Batman suddenly asked.

“Huh? Isn’t it obvious?” Danny tucked it in. “Material things, obviously. I need a blanket,” because holy shit, Gotham is damn cold this time of year. “Anyways, see you same time next week, litterer.”

“I don’t litter.”

“Tell that to the batarangs I found under the water,” Danny grumbled. “But I’ll stop calling you that if you get a signature from Poison Ivy. I have a friend who loves her.”

“An alive friend?”

“Wouldn’t you like to know, weatherboy?”

Danny snickered and disappeared. He’s gotta cram that essay.

“Batman, I mean this in the nicest way, but for the love of Atlantis, please stop giving me headaches. It’s time like these I wish I stayed a lighthouse keeper.”

and you talk up a storm with the others trying to learn about their lives, which sometimes makes wally a liiiittle jealous

but you want to live vicariously through these interesting people bc ur life is a liiiittle boring

nanami kento was dressed to the nines today.

his suit was a slate gray, fit and tailored to his frame so perfectly that he’d caught his secretary staring at him for more than her usual twenty seconds after he walked past her desk.

he set his briefcase down at his desk and checked his watch, only to be disappointed by the time it showed.

8:15 a.m. a full forty five minutes until he’d get to see you again.

not that he should want to see you — despite not knowing whether your first encounter was genuine or not, he knew enough to declare one thing.

he was absolutely, most definitely, caught in your storm.

he’s about to settle down at his desk, taking out his laptop and about to do some research before his mahogany doors open to reveal you, draped in sunlight.

you wore a suit of your own, a set so finely crafted and tailored that he’s left catching his breath as you walk through the doors. you gently adjust the blazer, grinning at him as soon as the door closes behind you.

“hello mr. nanami,” you say, and your tone is all business despite the informal grin on your face. “i thought it would be a good idea to drop in early in order to provide you papers of the transactions that are to occur between these two companies.”

nanami feels a bit comforted by the professionalism, moving his eyes to look at the documents you’d just handed him.

he scans the words, pausing when he spots a particular clause he never remembered in the negotiations.

“i’m sorry…i believe one of these documents contains a non disclosed clause. if these documents are to be used in the barter of services between our companies, i will have to involve my legal staff, as these are undiscussed terms.”

he pointed to line eighty, where it said “if jujutsu technologies does not reach a profit margin of at least 20%, the company will be acquired and merged into atlantis technologies.”

he looks to you and is surprised to see calculatedness on your face, a far cry from the giggling, sweet version of you he met last night.

“my apologies mr. nanami,” you say, and he is unnerved by the confidence your voice holds, “this clause was not an addition by me to this contract. it was actually a clause given to me by your superior, the former ceo of jujutsu technologies before he chose to step down. i merely added it into the contract so it would come to your attention in case you weren’t already aware. it seems that you weren’t.”

he meets your eyes to se something mirroring genuine remorse as you produce what was certainly the email chain between you and a man he called more friend than superior.

a man who’d currently put this entire company in hot water.

against his will, he looks at your lips, trying not to be distracted by the softness of them as they curved into a satisfied smile when he signed the papers that would place his company under intense negotiations.

he also tried not to wonder how your figure would look beneath your blazer as you walked out of his doors again.

“emily!” he hollered to his secretary, who ran in the moment he called.

“yes sir,” she said.

“get gojo satoru on the line.” he pauses, wondering how you could shake up his routine so much. “we need to talk.”

Stargate Anniversary Fest

@melagan and I (@goddess47) are pleased to announce the beginning of the Stargate Anniversary Fest.

You may or may not know that the first episode of Stargate Atlantis (Rising) was first shown on July 16, 2004. Twenty years ago.

AND! October 28, 1994 will be the 30th anniversary of Stargate the original movie.

We're going to celebrate it all! From now until October 31, 2024, we're hoping you join us in celebrating Stargate in all its forms.

The biggest event of the summer is the Anniversary Bingo, but there will be more opportunities for everyone as time goes on. But Bingo takes more time (for the completionist), so we're starting now with the bingo.
