saw cavetown and mother mother live last night and i’ve never felt so comfortable and accepted in my life. i’m out to everyone besides my family and over the past 4 years none of these feelings have gone away. i was screaming home and juliet at the top of my lungs for the current me who wants to be seen. i was screaming worm food for all the times ive felt not enough and discouraged for pursuing my career i want. i was screaming boys will be bugs for 14 year old me who was terrified of growing up and scared of becoming who i was. i screamed devil town for younger me who was reconciling from all the problems ive had with my father and family and found comfort in that song. i’ve grown up with cavetown and his music has always been there when i needed it. the concert was healing and freeing for me and im so happy to have gone. felt the most gender euphoria ive felt in a long time.

Never posted about this concert
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was my first concert I went to completely alone and it went perfectly
There was a braves game getting out literally right across the street from the venue when I got there so it was busy af but luckily I was getting dropped off cause apparently everyone had to pay for game day parking like $40 oof
I had vip got my vip merch got in saw the acoustic set I caught a guitar pick mid air and got right on the barricade
Meet me @ the altar came out and Jill from Pollyanna was filling in for guitar? Right in front of where I was!? That was crazy cause I’ve seen Pollyanna all four times they’ve played in Atlanta Jill recognized me lmao crazy
Mother Mother and Cavetown played and I went and got merch perfect
10/10

see previous part
meet the cast part 2: jaye and lonnie (atlanta)/ 'the lover and the fighter'!
bonus points to whoever can guess what greek myth this storyline is based off!!!
they are two detectives who were unfairly fired for investigating the corrupt secret life of the loved government official, 'tess derose'. desperate to prove themselves, they continue their attempt to dismantle the house of derose, pushing moral and ethical boundaries in the name of justice (and accidentally ruining many lives in the process).
now how do they get the upper hand against derose? by making his daughter, marylin, fall in love with jaye.
songs that fit their vibe:
el tango de roxanne - moulin rouge
boys will be bugs - cavetown
angel eyes - abba
voulez vous - abba
rule #34 - fish in a birdcage
kiwi - harry styles
iris - the goo goo dolls

Punk Rock | Destroy Boys Share New Single “Plucked” + Tour Dates
Tumblr media
Destroy Boys, a band that has been making waves in the punk rock scene, has garnered positive reviews for their energetic performances, honest songwriting, and the ability to connect deeply with their fans. Their music, often described as a bridge between classic punk sounds and contemporary themes, showcases their growth both musically and in terms of popularity. According to SPIN, Destroy Boys shared insights about their experiences touring, their fan base’s reaction to new singles, and the band’s evolution over the years. The members reflected on how their music has remained “viciously honest,” which resonates well with their audience. They compared their relationship with their fans to growing up with Harry Potter characters, emphasizing the deep, evolving connection they share . Third Coast Review’s coverage of Destroy Fest 2023 highlighted the band’s ability to bring together a compelling lineup of punk bands, showcasing their influence in the punk rock community. The festival was praised for its vibrant energy and the band’s knack for creating an inclusive, spirited environment . A live review from S.L.R. Magazine on Destroy Fest 2023 in NYC elaborated on the band’s live performance charm. Despite mixed feelings upon initially hearing their music, the reviewer found the live performance to seal the deal, particularly noting the band’s great energy and diverse setlist. Their latest offering “Plucked” is a raucous and melodic track that embodies the spirt of this incredibly effectual punk band. FC5 OC || Deputy Oliver Rook
Tumblr media
faceclaim: andy samberg
gender: nonbinary
age: 33
birthday: nov. 5th, 1988
pronouns: they/them
about
oliver dean rook was born in raleigh, north carolina, where they grew up an only child. they grew up an average person - average high school, average neighborhood, average parents. they went to law school in atlanta, where they met john duncan for the first time while they were both young. they came out as nonbinary during college, getting their top surgery shortly after. they had a falling out with john just before their senior year, and over time forgot all about him and atlanta.
they moved to hope county and got a job as junior deputy just a month before the uprising of the project at eden's gate. it was one of their first jobs in the field - and their definitive last. seeing john seed again, in a new light and a new place, drug up so many old feelings and old memories that made every experience with eden's gate sting more than it had any right to.
easy to underestimate and laugh off, they have a darkness inside them most don't expect. they're afraid they'll never be free of the anger and hate buried deep in their heart - and wonder if maybe john had a point about their wrath.
playlist
home - cavetown
i wanna get better - bleachers
body - mother mother
misery fell - tally hall
rat - penelope scott
savior's robes - yellowcard
t r a n s p a r e n t s o u l - WILLOW

Photo: Tessa Violet brought a night of colour in Atlanta opening for Cavetown
Tumblr media
Saturday night, Tessa Violet returned to play in Atlanta at the Tabernacle. She opened for artist Cavetown and got the crowd hyped up for the rest of the show. Tessa said that if the crowd wasn’t “crying of excitement” by the end of her set, she failed her job as an opener.
She played her hits such as “Crush” and tiktok-popular track “Yes Mom”. The crowd, donned in a lot of Tessa Violet merch, loved every second of it. She definitely did not fail her job as a warm up act. Tessa also joined Cavetown on stage during his set to perform “Smoke Signals”.
Overall, her energetic and colourful set was a fantastic start to the show. If you’re going to see Cavetown on the rest of his US tour, be sure to show up early so you don’t miss Tessa’s set.

6, 7, 12, 18!!
LUV U ADDYY
6)   a song that cheers you up
it doesnt exactly cheer me up, but a song that has been great comfort to me since it released is cavetown's empty bed, it's really like a warm hug in a song! with regards to songs that cheer me up as in energize me, atlanta by go child always puts a bounce in my step!
7)   a song that reminds you of your friend(s)
for you, its anything janelle monae (espescially babopbyeya, which is one of the best fucking tracks in the history of ever, just kind of objectively,) silly shit like gucci gucci by kreayshawn and boyfriend by big time rush both of which i refuse to link, and kirakira!!
wrt my other best friend..... its a beautiful world by devi mccalion, zero by pinocchiop, moon river, and lots of other extremely emo shit that im not comfortable posting cuz its that sappy.
12)  a song that grew on you
for a yamikawa enthusiast bitch it might be unusual to say that i initially hated sick sick sick by pinocchiop but it grew on me IMMENSELY mostly because the bridge is so fucking good
17)  a song with great lyrics
WEL i dont listen to anything unless i like the lyrics but heres a small selection of standouts
slither, which is extremely poignant spoken word about trauma survical for the majority of the song
"everything always changes, but it's always the same
everything always changes, it flickers like flames"
love in the time of the human papillomavirus
"we could live there together or i'll live alone less happy
but i'll live, unfortunately."
i already said it once but seiko oomoris dogma magma
"every time you create a system
you've committed the sin of creating a minority too"
