Prompt Voting is Open!

The people have spoken! And WOW did you all deliver. In the end we received 141 prompt ideas for the third Avatar WTF Weekend!!! The mods couldn't be more delighted with the response. For everyone's sanity, after removing similar prompts and doing some hard prioritization we managed to narrow it down to 20 prompts for each category of words, quotes, and scenarios.

Please use this link to vote for your top FIVE prompts in each category. The top three will be the prompts for the event.

For @avatar-wtf-weekend day 1, Recovery. Piandao/Jet

I normally like to think about a platonic relationship between Jet and Piandao, but there is also something very intriguing about, in a Jet lives AU, for their paths to cross some ten years later, and something to blossom between them. Maybe Jet joins the White Lotus, and gets hurt, and Piandao takes it upon himself to help Jet recover. Maybe he helps Jet heal more than just his physical wounds.

“Do I have to create for all thirty days?”

- Not at all! Feel free to jump in whenever you’d like. This is a creation event, so create as much or as little as you want! However, if you want to be entered in the shout out post, you must participate in all 30 days.

“Can I post a creation after the day has already passed?”

- Yes! You’re welcome to post for a prompt day even after the date, just be sure to tag with which day and prompt you’ve created for! You will only be eligibile for the shoutout post if you complete all 30 days within the month of April.

“What if I don’t understand/like a prompt?”

- We have a list of 10 alt prompts for you to choose from if you don’t like the main 30. Feel free to use our alternate prompts for any day, and if there’s any confusion send us an ask!

Welcome, dearest new participants and you brave souls returning for the third annual Zhaozai Palooza!

As with our previous two events, the 2023 Palooza shall run for a week -- each day with a corresponding pair of prompts (one submitted by participants, the other chosen by your mod) -- though submissions shall be accepted regardless of the day/prompt, and we shall, as always, accept late submissions indefinitely. Due to time restraints and a lack of creative, comedic, and organizational talent, themed lead-up weeks will not be possible this year. Curated content featuring the hottest of villains shall continue, however. The queue is, once again, full to bursting.

Prior to posting the Voting Forms, the previous two year's prompts shall be made available for easy reference. Ideally new prompts are preferred, but if a previous prompt is submitted, it shall be included in the voting list.

The Palooza's rules have not changed, and as with 2022, we will accept unpublished chapters of previous works, provided that Zhao and/or Ozai are the focal characters of the whole work, not just the submitted chapter.

All information should be updated to match within the next few days, but it's almost tradition at this point that your mod will miss something, so don't be afraid to call out anything! Likewise, the Ask Box is always open if you have questions -- or you if you just want to say hi!

There were so many great prompts; thank you everyone for submitting ideas and voting! There were also a lot of ties, so I took some liberties and combined prompts with a similar vibe to make room for all the top votes. Does this mean we technically have like 17 prompts for Sukka Week 2023? Yes, and I am not sorry about it.

And if that wasn't enough, I threw in some wild cards! I could never forget someone criticizing that wretched live action because aang’s actor is gonna obviously get older and that the original show only takes place in under a year. and the root of their criticism was that “kataang is gonna look less weird” 😭

when aang very obviously matures faster (both physically and emotionally) than the average 12 year old boy between seasons 1 and 3. (like you’re gonna tell me season 1 aang on kyoshi island and finale aang look the same to you??)

because, newsflash, aang is NOT a real human boy.

he exists in a fantasy world where people bend the elements.

and expecting a live action to realistically portray a fantasy cartoon child god correctly was your first and biggest mistake.
