Epic: the wisdom saga is SO GOOD

I decided to draw Athena mostly because of Epic the musical and because I binged Percy Jackson and the Olympians when it came out last week. Ever since the first saga released last year I’ve been obsessed with Epic The Musical by Jorge Rivera-Herrans. If you don’t know about it definitely check it out! I can’t wait for the Ocean Saga that comes out out tomorrow (December 25th)! Some of my favorite songs have been “My goodbye” and “Warrior of the mind. I’m REALLY happy with the way Athena turned out, I tried to be accurate to Greek mythology with most of it. Definitely in my Greek mythology fan era right now because of Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Epic.

Yes! It IS a very shallow idea! Athena got involved in wars, she helped her favorites, she wore the Aegis which was said to have Terror, Discord, Battle strength and and Panic on it! The Aegis which caused terror and panic. Athena was born fully armored, she was just as much associated with brutal war as Ares.

But like a soldier, she could remove her armor abd weapons and step away from war. It's not an integral part of her like it is with Ares, who embodied war. It doesn't mean she is less vicious in the midst of battle though.

There is this super popular (and shallow) idea that Ares represents the brutality of war while Athena represents the strategy, I think it’s shallow bc Athena can be just as brutal and cruel as Ares and just bc she controls her violent tendencies a little better and obeys Zeus a little more doesn’t change the fact she can be terrifying.
