I don’t know. If buddie ever had to go canon, I don’t want it to be in a dramatic way. I want joy and happiness and them laughing through their first kiss. I want them giddy.
They’ve been through so much already, I don’t want any more trauma attached to something this important.

BuddieTommy/Polyfire Headcanons
1. Chris loves having three dads, he already loved Buck and he really likes Tommy too.
2. Bobby takes credit for Buck and Eddie meeting while Chimney takes credit for Buck and Eddie meeting Tommy (even though Hen argues it was actually her who caused them to meet Tommy)
3. Tommy is a massive goofball and once he is comfortable he shows off his weird side. Buck finds him hilarious and Eddie pretends he doesn’t find him hilarious but can’t hold in his laughs.
4. Eddie is always the middle spoon. Buck and Tommy will switch between who is the biggest spoon and who is the smallest spoon but Eddie is always the one in between them during cuddle time.
5.Athena and Bobby are very happy that Buck has found two men that make him happy, but Athena has threatened to bring down the full fury of the LAPD if Eddie or Tommy hurt Buck.
6. They never officially announced they were all dating. They were a bit nervous how everyone might react to them being a throuple so they didn’t tell anyone at first. But they were really bad at hiding it and now everyone in the 118 and associated Firefam knows.
7. Maddie constantly teases Buck about his Bromance with Eddie and him being Tommy’s biggest Ally , and after she finds out they are all together her teasing gets 10x worse.
8. Eddie and Tommy are the ones legally married in case something happens so Tommy will get guardianship if Christopher. However Buck played a big part in the wedding and said his own vows to both of them. The entire fire fan showed up and the Buckley and Diaz parents were there and supportive as well.
9. The Buckley parents didn’t quite understand Bucks relationship with Tommy and Eddie at first but after Maddie threatened to cut them off if they started problems they agreed they didn’t need to understand it to be happy for Buck and hope it works out well for him.

☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
LAST ONE OF THE WEEK!
129 for☠️:
---
It does feel a little weird to be celebrating, given the reason for  his reinstatement. But everyone is clearly relieved to have him back.
Bobby cooks an orange-ginger chicken dish that Athena personally loves. She swears his cooking has an extra special flavor to it, now that he’s back. There was just something missing about it, while he was away from his team. Athena sits between her husband and Hen, pleased with the food and the company.
Down the table, she notices Buck and Eddie sitting very close together. Like shoulders touching, even as they eat. Eddie is saying something quietly to Buck, making him laugh boisterously. Really? Is it that funny, Buck?  They’re normally strange, but this seems a little excessive, even for them.
Hmm.
Athena remembers what Eddie said during that first night of police interviews.
He hasn’t liked me since he and Buck started dating, I don’t know why. We used to be friends.
She doesn’t know why she’s focusing on it. It’s probably nothing.
After the meal, Bobby packs up leftovers.
“Hen, you want me to put a container aside for school lunches?” Bobby asks. “It reheats well.”
“Oh, no thank you,” Hen replies. “I can’t actually. Mara is really allergic to sesame.”
Hen and Karen only got Mara back a few weeks ago. It was a long and hard fight. Only made easier by the hospitalization and subsequent resignation of Olivia Ortiz after an event the city has dubbed “Bee-Nado.” Athena didn’t know a woman could survive so many bee stings. Evidently, there were some long term consequences. Athena would feel worse if she hadn’t made her friends’ lives hell, fighting for their daughter.
“Oh, I didn’t know that,” Bobby says.
“Yeah,” Hen sighs. “Guess she almost died in her group home, a couple of weeks in. She didn’t tell anyone because she wouldn’t talk, and… It was bad.”
“That’s so scary,” Athena frowns. “Poor little girl.”
Hen nods. “Luckily someone had an epipen.”
Athena can’t help but think of Gerrard. About the epipen that could have saved his life.
“Right,” she replies. “Luckily.”
▪️▪️▪️
The final thing that happens is silly, really. It doesn’t mean anything. Not really.
Except Athena thinks it probably means quite a lot.
A few days after her dinner at the firehouse, she’s grocery shopping. Usually Bobby’s chore, but he’s busy getting back into the swing of things. Still, he insists she go to his special supermarket. The one with the better bakery bread! So that’s where she goes.
She is walking towards said bakery section, when she sees them. Or, scratch that. First, she hears them. Giggling like a couple of damn school girls.
“We don’t have any good reason to get whipped cream!”
“I can think of three fantastic reasons to get whipped cream.”
Athena turns towards the sound of their familiar voices and sees it. The very thing she had wondered about the other night. Buck and Eddie, walking hand in hand, lost in a sickeningly honeymoon phase-like bubble. It has been less than two weeks since Buck dumped Tommy. But these two seem awfully coupley.
They freeze when they see her. Drop each other’s hands. As if they can deny it. And why should they, right? They haven’t done anything wrong. They’re allowed to date each other. Sure, Athena hadn’t known Eddie was interested in dating men at all, but that’s not a problem. And she suspects that’s not why Eddie looks caught red-handed.
“Hi, Eddie. Hi, Buck,” she greets them. She’s not going to pretend she’s not thinking about what she’s looking at.
“Oh, hey, A-Athena,” Buck stammers, cheeks going a little red.
“Hey,” Eddie adds.
“And how long has this been going on?” She asks them.
“Not long!” Buck insists.
“Very new,” Eddie agrees.
Those aren’t answers. At least not specific ones.
“Mhm,” Athena nods. “Well, congratulations. I’m happy for you both. And happy you’re not taking that breakup too hard, Buck.”
Buck’s expression goes a little slack.
That’s when Athena knows for sure. Something is wrong here.
v.
It would be easy to let a normal frame-job story play out in her head. So easy, in fact, that she’s surprised no one else has even considered it. Really, if they did do it, they did such a good job that they avoided all suspicion. If only they’d held out a little longer on the PDA.
It would be easy to convince herself this was all Buck and Eddie.
They were both miserable under Gerrard’s captaincy. They were in love with each other, but Buck had a boyfriend. Buck had access to Tommy’s kitchen. He could have swapped the pitchers. He could have lied about his knowledge of Gerrard’s allergy. He could have read the murder mystery party planning document as his boyfriend put together the event. He has his own allergy - naproxen. He could have had an epipen, an expired one. Buck could have done a lot of this.
And that thought terrifies Athena.
If Bobby’s reaction to Jonah and Tommy being killers had been bad? How will he take Buck? And Eddie as his willing accomplice?  He won’t. Simply, it will destroy him. Break his already fragile heart. Athena knows that.
Maybe it’s with that in mind that she pokes holes in her own story.
For one thing, why frame Tommy? Killing Gerrard and getting Tommy out of the picture seem like separate issues. Buck may have good reasons to hate Gerrard, but he’s not senselessly cruel. Why frame an innocent man he could have just dumped?

7x10 Speculations
So, today we got stills (x) and I have some theories. It’s going to be multiples theories at once, so buckle up.
First, I think the episode will pick on the same night when Athena’s house burns.
The dinner date – The aftermath of the Kim/Shannon situation
I think Buck’s night starts by him cooking dinner for his dinner date with Tommy. Tommy wouldn’t be here maybe because he’s still on shift. Then, he receives a phone call by Eddie who is losing his shit after the Kim/Shannon incident. Buck talks with Eddie who explains to him everything. Maybe Eddie will explain that Chris has locked himself in his room and both Kim and Marisol broke up with him. Then, the Diaz Parents are here. Why are they are? Same reason that Abuela was there for the wedding, YOLO. Maybe the Diaz parents are there to visits family, don’t forget that Tia Pepa also lives in LA. I think they invite themselves or Chris called them since he knew they were coming. But I think they invite themselves and they feel that something is fishy. Just after they arrive, Buck gets a phone call from Tommy and is happily leaving. Then the Diaz parents look at Eddie who has no one in his corner. Eddie explains the situation and even shows them the photo.
Buck then has his date with Tommy and everything seems to go well. Either during dinner or after, Buck gets a phone call telling him that Bobby and Athena are in the hospital. Tommy goes with him; Lou has been seen wearing the same clothes that he is during the dinner dates.
The Madney – Henren scene:
From interview, we have seen JLH wearing the same outfits that she’s wearing on the still and on that same interview, Aisha was wearing the same outfit that she’s wearing on the hospital stills. It seems to be a happy scene full of smile and sunshine. We know that’s not going to last. JLH had said either in interview or in a story that Chimney and Maddie will do something romantic for a couple. My guess is that after the Mara situation, Chim and Maddie invites the Wilson at their home and try to find a solution. There’s a theory that’s roaming around and I agree with that theory. I also think that the solution find would be Chimney and Maddie proposing to become Mara’s foster family until she gets permanently placed at the Wilson’s. Will they succeed on the episode? Not likely. The episode seem packed but I think they will be one step closer and that will set their storyline for S8. Then either Chim or Hen gets a phone call.
The hospital:
I think Chim and Hen would arrive alone and first. Upon seeing that neither Buck nor Eddie are there, I think they will call them and ask them to come. Then, the four of them are. Athena wakes up and asks for Bobby. Bobby is not doing well because well the guy is on a ventilator. So, not fun. Then the chief comes and informs them of Bobby’s retirement. Which is why they are shocked. I also think that Gerrard might replace them, we saw the actor on set. I have another theory so more on that later.
The day after: I think most of the episode will be spend during the morning after and I have multiple points.
The 118 will stay all night and the scene with Chief Simpson might be the day after.
All the 118 have a moment with Bobby. Eddie has one and will pray using the Bible gave him.
Hen might leave first, maybe to confront the congresswoman or to have a meeting with Dedra. She will then call Chim to explain the situation.
Buck and Eddie will go home and change. The next day, Eddie will have a talk with Christopher who will say that he’ll leave with his grandparents. Eddie will not take the news well and will have a talk with his dad. Since the previous season, Ramon became more and more supportive of Eddie so I think he will try to recomfort Eddie by telling that Christopher leaving for the summer might be a good thing. If one of the Diaz parents will attack Eddie, it would be Helena.
Before Chris leaves, Buck goes to say goodbye to Chris. Before leaving, Eddie and Chris will have a heart to heart and maybe Chris will tell that he’s mad at his dad and leave without forgiving him.
Athena will leave the hospital and goes to Amir. She feels that something else happen in the desert will find a photo that would prove that. She goes to Amir to asks for question. But then, the troubles come. I think that the Cartel are the one that burned Athena’s house. They have the resources. Also it won’t be the congresswoman; Bobby has no tied to her son’s death. Hen was in charge that night. Not Bobby. Bobby was away.
What about Gerrard?
The fact that he was bought from the flashback is interesting. The guy will for sure come back in S8. I think he will replace Bobby as captain. Gerrard is just one lucky son of a bitch.
Why wouldn’t it be one of the 118? Let me explain
We know for Chim that he doesn’t want to be captain. The guy had the job and prayed the Lord for Bobby to come back.
I think Eddie doesn’t want to be captain. He seems content in his position and might not want to be captain.
Buck is not ready to be Captain. Buck is the one that is more captain material. He was shown to have leadership skills. But he also lacks rigor and discipline. He would be a great captain, could even be better than Bobby. But now is too early and he still has a hot head temperament.
But then why not Hen? She was acting Captain twice while Bobby was gone, one in S6 when Bobby was in Florida because Athena’s dad had a heart-attack, once in S7 when Bobby was on a cruise. So, if Hen had been already been acting Captain twice, why not a third time? Two possibilities:
One. The chief refuses because of disciplinary reasons. She might got a medal because of the cruise ship situation. She still disobeyed orders. She might not be awarded because of that.
Two. The congresswoman. I don’t think we will see the last of her in S7. She is razor focus on ruining Hen’s life and she pulled out the Mara situation pretty easily. Who said that she doesn’t have another card in her hand?

For something fun, what’re your hopes with where Bick and Tommy’s story is by the end of the season and how they may set it up for the future? I’m hoping that they have a more focused ending for them going into season eight unlike what we got in the last season with Buck and Natalia. That ending felt very open ended in that they could be serious or could not be. I mean that worked out well for Buck’s story, but given this relationship with Tommy is his 3rd within the last three seasons, I would imagine they want it to be a good and serious one AND for the general audience to take it as such. That’s why I think ending the season with them not just being in a ‘good place’, but showing us (and not just telling us) that they are serious and committed would be the way to do that. This would also break the cycle of Buck’s nerve ending never succeeding romantic relationships.
oooooh fun stuff
my dream version: tommy and possibly buck heroic moment in ep9, we get worried boyfriends, maybe another big smooch, bit of conflict as they both have to come to terms with being on the other side of dating a first responder, and we end the season with them in the montage watching the movie they never got to see, but this time at home cuddling on buck's couch (the movie is either love, actually or top gun)
real world version where it's not the bucktommy show: i still think maybe a heroic tommy moment in ep9 cause of the award ceremony, unless it actually is for the cruise ship rescue (which wouldn't quite make sense, yeah they saved people and the dept saved face, but tommy still stole a chopper, and the others lied to their superior and disobeyed orders, also, how long has it been in-universe 🤨) hopefully a cute domestic moment during/after the ceremony (my heart for a buck/tommy/bobby/athena scene). as for a more focused ending, half of the finales so far have had a get together of some sort, so having a party at bobby and athena's and buck bringing tommy would help cement the seriousness of their relationship, since none of the others have been shown at the family events, and then we could get a bit of them dancing at the party during the ending montage
(i'm also pretty sure, if they are together at the end of the season 🤞 then they'll still be together at the start of s8, cause otherwise it'll be the second premiere in a row where we last saw buck seemingly happy in a relationship only for them to break up between seasons. if they are gonna break up, it would probably be sometime during the first half of s8. or they could stay together forever and get married and grow old and die within hours of each other, like thomas and mitchell)

always looking to be closer friends so here’s my question for you.
pick one of your favorite oc’s and just feel to ramble about them. about your favorite things about them, their storylines you love . their relationships and hobbies. just everything you wanna talk about <3
AHHHHH, THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR THIS, CJ!!! Cannot even tell you how much this means to me. I think, for the purposes of keeping to fandoms we both share (and because I hardly ever get asked about him), I’m gonna tell you about my 911 baby Bowie!!
Tumblr media
Favorite things about him:
First and foremost, he is legitimately such a sweetheart! He cares so so deeply about pretty much everyone, he’s so consistently nice, and he will do absolutely anything for the people he loves. And he’s also really smart, not just nerdy the way most people assume he is at first; he may not be super perceptive, since he can’t read a social cue to save his life, but he knows a lot of stuff about a lot of things and he won’t hesitate to use his knowledge if it will be useful. And he’s also such a good boyfriend to Buck and Eddie, and a great stepdad to Chris; with Buck only being his second serious relationship, he has a lot of learning to do about being a good partner and coexisting with another person that way, and it’s not as if he has a lot of prior experience with kids, but he always makes the effort and he becomes a really good partner and stepparent.
Storylines I love:
Oh, jeez, where do you want me to start? For starters, I really love the storyline of his first relationship before he and Buck start dating, a really sweet guy named Jack who he dates from the end of season one towards the middle of season two, because it’s just a really sweet time of Bowie being happy and feeling good about himself before some of the angst of his and Buck’s, and later his and Buck’s and Eddie’s, relationship starts. Other favorites include his and Buck’s hookup era before they officially get together, the angst of their relationship during the lawsuit arc because that also technically takes place during their hookup era, his recovery arc after his leg gets broken in the firetruck explosion that causes Buck to need blood thinners (and then going to help with aid during the tsunami despite the fact that he wasn’t fully healed because he’s kind of an idiot), and the whole chaos of him and Buck almost simultaneously realizing their feelings for Eddie while they’ve already been dating each other for a few years now and just try to ignore the feelings and not talk about it until they explode at the exact same time and tell each other. Also the whole thing where he gets shot in the head and almost dies and tries to hide his PTSD from it after he’s physically recovered, because if there is one thing a 911 character will do it is suppress their trauma.
My favorite relationships of his:
Obviously I adore his relationships with both Buck and Eddie; they’re sweet in two mostly different ways, but they are both absolutely sweet and loving and adorable. His relationship with Chris is also amazingly cute - a little bit awkward at first, because Bowie’s just a little awkward around kids, but he eventually becomes a really great and supportive stepdad who, along with Buck, Chris loves to ask a million questions to and let him infodump. His relationship with Bobby is also just amazing; Bowie had only been at the 118 for a month or two before Bobby took over as captain, and he was the first person in the firehouse Bowie felt really comfortable infodumping to and showing his more obvious autistic traits to, and they wound up developing a nice father-son relationship based on mutual respect and a love of Dan Brown’s books. His dynamic with Athena is also actually kind of funny; Bowie is deeply intimidated by her at first, but it passes eventually and she definitely becomes his work mom the way Bobby is his work dad.
His hobbies:
Reading is definitely a big one for him! He’s been obsessed with sci-fi, fantasy, and mystery novels since he was a kid, and typically if there’s a lull in activity in the firehouse or if he’s man behind, you can find him with his nose in a book if he’s not engaged in a conversation. He also really loves watching movies, especially older ones - the original Star Wars trilogy, The Princess Bride, and Singin’ in the Rain are some of his favorites. He can also play guitar and sing, which I wouldn’t exactly call a hobby because he doesn’t do it a whole ton, but sometimes when he’s home alone he’ll pull out his guitar, strum a random song, and sing along quietly to it. (There’s also a certain scene I have in mind of him singing that’s actually really important to his story and that I will write one day, I swear.)
Again, thank you so much for asking these questions!! You’re amazing, hope you’re doing well. <3

I've actually spent a LOT of time on the colors thing and as I was reading this, some things popped up to add to my mangled thoughts on it.
Buck's love color is red. Chris wears red glasses. That could be his mother, but it could be Buck as well considering the glasses are consistently red. (I haven't watched 3x15 again, so I don't remember what all she wore.) (I just think the reds are another parallel between Shannon and Buck, which is a whole other mess entirely.)
I have to watch more of Shannon's scenes to be able to tell more about her and Chris, especially 2x10, so I'm gonna do that later and see.
I DID NOT THINK ABOUT THAT! I forgot what color he's wearing during the skateboard incident, but damn! So I wonder if Shannon wears yellow to like symbolize she thinks Eddie's wrong (not that he's absolutely right, there is no right or wrong in their situation.)
I love that they have set palettes for characters. And red and tan seem to be Buck and Eddie's color palette when they're together. 3x12, 4x12, and even 4x08 (though Buck's in more of an orangish red). Even Bobby and Athena wear the ensemble sometimes. And the shades match! Now I don't know why, but it just is.
I did notice that, despite yellow being next to green, their shades never matched. Much like Buck and every one of his girlfriends. When Buck or Eddie are in light shades, their respective love interests are in darker ones. The only time we see Eddie match Ana is when they break up.
I think Eddie's love color is navy, despite the uniform color, for several reasons. The first being there's a band of navy around his St. Christopher medallion. Whenever he's worried about Chris or is thinking of him (3x12, 4x14, 5x10, just off the top of my head), he's in navy. And I thought it was just his color for Chris, because he never wears navy around Ana. But it's not! He wears blue (a brighter version but still) in 5x17 when he goes to El Paso, and blue denim in 2x04, 2x07, and 3x03. The blue applies to family, but also to a certain other person. 4x14 is his love confession to Buck, regardless if Buck understood that. So, Eddie's wearing navy. And in the poker date???!!!!! Both Buck and Eddie are wearing their love colors!!!!! And, in 6x18, when we're supposed to believe Eddie gets his new beginning/ happy ending with Marisol, he's in navy!
I'm no good at the whole color thing, but some things cannot be ignored. So many things on this show have a purpose, right down to rainbow lighting, so I know color comes into it somehow.
Hi Anna!!! I'm so sorry to bother you but I keep noticing things I want your opinion on! Shannon wears a LOT of yellow. Both when she comes back, and when she dies. Chris wears yellow both during the tsunami and during Eddie's breakdown. I just want to know why! I know Eddie's army green is his armor and navy is his love color, and Chris wears green and blue whenever Buddie's in danger, but what's the point of the yellow?
Muah! 💚
Okay, so, I absolutely SUCK at clothing metas aside from the very well established blue and green thing with couples, but I have opinions because their clothing department is very on the nose lol
Something about 911 is that they tend to assign colors or color groups to characters, Eddie wears a lot of earth tones in greens and blues and greys and browns, Buck wears a lot of red and pinks and oranges, Athena also wears a lot of red, Bobby wears a lot of darker colors, Hen wears a lot of fun prints, and I'm sure that has something to do with the way they built the characters in ways I can't fully explain.
But I actually went to look at all of the Shannon scenes, and she's always wearing yellow or orange, expect for the beach scene where she's wearing pink and all the flashbacks where she's wearing red, and something else about the beach scene is that she's also always wearing a lot of accessories, she has a lot of rings and multiple necklaces most of the times we see her, except for the beach where she's wearing one ring and one necklace and there's probably a point to be made here that I can't fully articulate (there's probably something about color theory to be said with the way they assigned her yellow, the color next to green, which is a color we see Eddie a lot in, so they look nice next to each other since they are analogous colors but considering the way green is one of the assigned colors for couples but the other color there is blue, that’s the other side of the green analogous colors of the wheel, putting her in yellow could be making a bigger point here and the way she’s in brigher shades than earthy tones associated with Eddie, could also be making a point since they clash shades to show conflict sometimes), but since she's wearing a lot of yellows, I went looking for when Chris is wearing yellow and that's tsunami, after he gets hurt in school after the skateboard incident and during Eddie's breakdown, which is interesting when you consider the way that these are situations where Eddie gets emotionally distressed, to draw that parallel to watching Shannon die and the way Chris also has his own color palette, in season 2 and 3 he wears red a lot and after that he evolves to blues and greens kinda mirroring Eddie which I think is adorable, but his glasses are still red and so are his crutches, so to put him in the color they assigned to his dead mother in the situations where he's not exactly in danger (he is in danger on the tsunami but he's not in danger during Eddie's breakdown, I think the word I want here is that when he's scared), definitely means something, because like, she's wearing yellow in moments Eddie needs to be emotionally vulnerable, when they kiss after she did the interview with the school, when she shows up at the firehouse, when she dies, so it's definitely a choice being made there.
WAIT WAIT WAIT CHRIS IS WEARING YELLOW IN SCENES EDDIE IS WRONG. HE ASSUMES CHRIS IS SAFE FROM THE TSUNAMI, HE ASSUMES CHRIS WAS FORCED TO GET ON THE SKATEBOARD AND WHEN EDDIE THINKS THERE'S NO HOPE FOR HIMSELF. (this is an edit lol)
And Eddie definitely wears more blues than green around Chris and when you add the army green jacket and the situations we get that particular shade of green with him in, it definitely affects the way we view the scene even if it's not fully conscious (the navy blue it's complicated to say, i think, since its the color of their uniforms). And the yellow thing is interesting because they kinda push that in a way where you can make the assumption that yellow is Shannon's favorite color (even her jewelry is mostly gold, and from what i can tell there's almost always a ring with a yellow stone, so like, it's there) so it would make sense if Chris had more yellow stuff considering his stuff was picked out by her for half his life, because even if assuming based on his glasses and crutches that his favorite color is red, it would make sense for him to have a bit of his mother around him anyway (i mean, there's the way they put Shannon in red throughout all of Eddie Begins so maybe they added that there so that the red already is that bit and the evolution to his clothing matching Eddie's color palette is bringing a bit of both but that would be a retcon in my opinion) because I feel like even as a 7 yo if he got to pick stuff, he could very easily gravitate towards something that reminded him of his mom.

Buddie 408 meta
Tumblr media
In the first call of the ep, Buck and Eddie were paired up as partners and with the jumper call, we see them having parallel conversations about the problems that dating has introduced into their lives. That’s on top of the parallel dating timelines that I mentioned in my 407 meta and continues in this ep. Basically, no matter where the show takes them, it also links them together, even through the small things. Always.
Tumblr media
* * *
During Ana and Eddie’s ‘big date’, we learn that he spends his time solving math problems, which… what kind of a date even is that? And the flirting in the scene doesn’t quite work for me personally, because not only do we not know Ana as a character, we also don’t know them as a couple. ALL we’ve had so far is flirting, but where are the bits where they connect, where you can see how they fit as people in real situations? When a show is invested in a Love Interest, it gives us those scenes. Not just heavy handed flirting. Same goes for Ana meeting Chris at the end of the ep, we don’t know what she’s like with him, only that he loves her because she used to be his teacher, which is a very lazy way of establishing their bond. And the most meaningful scene in the ep? Didn’t involve Ana or Chris with her. She’s still not being invested in. So yeah, she’s around, but she still doesn’t feel like she’s meant to be long term.
Tumblr media
I found it jarring (in a good way!) that right after his date, not only does Eddie come home to Buck (let’s not talk about how Buck walks into the scene a bit like a revealed love interest would, for example like Athena’s walk into the restaurant revealing her as Bobby’s date in ep 110) and it then plays as such a domestic scene (given the bit of teasing with “you’re late!”, and how Buck is shown to be so great with Chris, as well as being there for Eddie), the fact that this happens right after the almost completely contentless date is a contrast that emphasizes just how much more meaningful this relationship is. It also served as a reminder that while Eddie hesitated in re-introducing Chris to his own mother, while Eddie was now unsure and uncomfortable telling his son about the woman he’s dating, when he met Buck, there was no hesitation. Just like Eddie instinctively knew he and Buck would have each other’s back, he knew he could trust Buck when introducing him to his son. Again, the comparison screams how meaningful the Buddie bond is and has been since day one! This is not how you sell a new Love Interest to the audience. Or get shippers to stop shipping.
And I couldn’t help but notice that Eddie’s date gives us a scene of both Buck and Eddie returning home. Eddie is completely comfortable and happy when he returns to his house, because he’s in his element, seeing Buck and Chris (other than the moment when he doesn’t feel comfortable telling Chris about Ana). Buck in comparison is highly uncomfortable returning to his loft, due to Veronica being there and his sense of Albert’s betrayal. This continues the theme of showing that really, Buck’s home is with the Diaz boys.
* * *
Tumblr media
In contrast with Ana, Taylor has been back for only one ep and already has been shown more as a character on her own, getting a mini redemption arc, as well as having a more developed and multi-faceted history with the guy she’s been brought back for. Taylor will clearly continue to show up, and I think a friendship between her and Buck could be interesting. At the end of the day, I can’t ignore that the biggest thing she said to show she does know Buck isn’t what she spewed in a moment of anger. It’s that he already has meaningful relationships - with the 118. Which of course includes, as this ep highlights, Eddie and Chris. Who knows? Maybe at some point, she’ll get to say something about this to Buck.
* * *
Speaking of friendships, I love so many of the platonic ones on this show. Athena and Hen’s just rules, Bobby and Michael’s is so freaking pure, and now I’m also adoring Buck and Albert’s. I LOVE that Al chose friendship over romance. That we got the show saying good friendships matter more. I love that Buck got to see his friend putting him first. I wanna take a sec to applaud this! (that Al and Buck are roommates as well and still less domestic and each other’s partner than Buck and Eddie are is just a bonus)
* * *
The date scene’s only meaty part is establishing the problem Eddie has: he’s not comfortable yet with telling his son about Ana. Normally, him resolving that would have been the climax of his story arc in this ep. Instead, his coming to terms with having to tell his son about his dating is played semi-comically, against the backdrop of the guy whose jumping from the roof the team is betting on. His scene of talking about it to Chris isn't the climax either, since it isn’t the one where Chris gets to open up and share his feelings, allowing emotional progress. Instead, that climax scene happens between Buck and Chris. And why would Eddie’s dating dilemma climax happen with a scene between his son and his best friend? Showing us how deeply they’re tied together? That’s not how these stories usually unfold... (another symbol of that is that dating stories with an interrupted kiss are usually resolved by seeing the couple getting to kiss after all before the end of that storyline, but Eddie and Ana don’t get that)
Not to mention that when Buck talks to Chris, he already knew about Christopher’s outburst, meaning he was updated about this right away, despite this being the night of his weird double date (not for example the next day), and Eddie had to have told him before he told Ana. Buck is SO Eddie’s real partner. I also found it interesting that what Chris confesses is his fear of more people he loves leaving. But who is he scared will leave? Eddie dating doesn’t mean he’s going anywhere. And Chris can’t be that afraid of losing at some point this new person that he doesn’t even yet know if he’ll like. So who might drift away if Eddie starts dating? It’s “Dad’s friend”, whose house is the place Chris chose to run away to. The guy whose reassurance - that he will always be in Christopher’s life - is what calms down this confessed fear.
Tumblr media
And if that doesn’t say everything about how central Buck is to Chris as more than just his dad’s friend, consider the fact that Chris’ fear of being abandoned parallels Buck’s as he had expressed it to Maddie in 316. This scene might have used the word ‘friends’ for Buck and Chris, but in every other way, it presented them as a family (and by extension, Eddie too). And this is a show that repeatedly points out how real family matters more than anything else, in whatever form it may come. That it’s a bond that cannot be broken. And that’s what these three have.
Tumblr media
Thank you endlessly to my amazing friend @bicepsie for making her incredible gifs for this meta post! xoxox Also, if you like my takes on Buddie, you can find more of my meta and fics for them here. Thank you in advance for any like, comment and of course reblog, they all help so much! As we go into this break in eps, I’ll still be here, making content and answering questions for anyone interested. Have a pleasant hiatus everyone and be well! xoxoxox

Eddie Diaz x Fem!reader
⚠️TW:⚠️ swearing, mentions of physical abuse, alcohol, drugs, mentions of abandonment
Angst, Physical Abuse, Healing/Trauma
Eddie finds out that Y/n's father is physically abusing her when she shows up to the station covered in fresh bruises, blood, and tears.
.......
For years, Y/n's father had been taking drugs and drinking his life way. And everytime he did, he would take his rage out on her. Leaving her broken, hurt, bloodied, and just scared. But, the day she met Eddie Diaz at the Santa Monica Pier when he was with his son, she would never forget it.
Fast forward a few years, Y/n and Eddie stated dating, and Christopher loved her as much as Eddie did. It was a mid morning, when Eddie got to work for his shift. Y/n was home alone when her father showed up. Angry that she had left him alone to fend for himself and he took his anger out on her, leaving her there to die.
After he left, she had blood dripping down the side of her face, she had a busted lip, her eye was bruised badly, and her nose was bleeding but she managed to get to the station somehow.
Tumblr media
She limped her way inside, just as Hen came down the stairs and saw the shape she was in. "Oh my god!" She rushed over, catching Y/n in her arms before she fell. "Guys! I need help down here!" Hen called into the radio.
Bobby was the first to come down, followed by Buck, Chimney, and Eddie. Eddie's face froze when he saw his girlfriend beaten so badly. He rushed over. Bobby started to hold him back, "No!" He pushed his way to Y/n.
Eddie kneeled down, "Y/n? Who did this to you?" He asked, whe examining her face.
"M-my father. He-he came by after you left and beat me. He said-" She broke into sobs again. "He said it was my fault!" Eddie shook his head, "No, nothing is your fault. That drunk son of a bitch will pay for this."
"Eddie, let Athena handle this, I've called her and let her know what the situation is." Bobby said, coming back from taking a phone call from Athena.
"Y/n, follow the light for me." Hen asked sweetly. She followed the light or tried to at least. "Yeah, she has a concussion."
Buck helped Eddie get Y/n to the couch to rest. "Buck is going to stay here with you while we're out on calls. Alright? And if you need me for anything, Buck knows how to reach me." Eddie kissed her head softly. "Buck, here's some money if you or her get hungry." Eddie tried to hand money to Buck.
"No, keep it. I'll pay for the food if she gets hungry." Buck pushed Eddie's hand away.
"Thanks, man." Eddie said with a smile. He was still very much worried about Y/n. And the fact that he just found out about the abuse, he was not happy. But he wasn't mad at her. He was mad at the low life that called himself a father.
Later that day, Eddie just got off his shift, he took Y/n home and got her settled into their bed. He brought her dinner that he made for the three of them. Him, her, and Chris. He laid beside her. "How long has he been hurting you? And be honest with me." Eddie said calmly and softly.
Y/n looked up at him, her eyes filled with sadness and fear which Eddie could see. "Ever since my mother left and never came back. I was three then. He started drinking heavily and got into drugs. Meth, weed, cocaine. You name it. And he became more violent towards me. He blamed me for my mom leaving us. He then started beating me everyday of my life." Her small voice broke Eddie's heart to hear her say it.
"He will never touch you again. Athena tracked him down and he is now locked away." Eddie kissed her head. "You are safe with me and-"
"Me!" Chris had come into the room. He softly yet gentally climbed into the bed between his father and Y/n.
"Yeah, what my son said." Eddie laughed. Y/n smiled and chuckled. "You two are something." Y/n laughed. "That's why I love you both."
After awhile, Eddie, Chris, and Y/n all fell asleep after a long, tiring day. But during the night, Y/n woke up from a pounding headache which had her crying. Eddie heard her and quickly got up, which woke up Chris.
"Dad? What's going on?" Chris rubbed his sleepy eyes.
"Its Y/n." He rushed to her side. "Hey, hey, what's going on, baby, talk to me." Eddie said soothingly.
"M-my head hurts so bad." Tears streamed her face. "Come here." Eddie helped her back into the bed. He handed her the pain meds and handed her a bottle water. After she drank it, she became sleepy.
Eddie climbed back into bed with Chris asleep against him and Y/n, who also had fallen back to sleep not long after.
Eddie never went back to sleep. He stayed awake making sure Y/n was alright. It didn't bother him because he was used to staying up all night when working 24 hour shifts.
The next morning, Eddie cooked breakfast while Chris and Y/n were still asleep. He heard a knock and walked over to a answer the door. "Buck, hey, come in." He stepped aside as Buck walked in. "How's Y/n?" He asked, standing with his hands in his pockets.
"She had a rough night. Her head hurt her a lot. I set up a doctor's appointment for her with the neurologist to see if anything else is wrong with her head. She just fell asleep early this morning after the pain med I gave her."
"I take it you didn't much sleep either?" He noticed the burnt toast. "Let me help, Eddie." Buck offered. Eddie stepped aside, too tired to argue. "Alright, I'm going to get Chris up and check on Y/n." He headed off to their room that they shared. He saw Chris asleep against Y/n with her arm around him.
He smiled, and quickly took a few pictures then decided to let them sleep longer. He showed Buck. "Awe, your son really does love her, huh?" He smiled that goofy smile.
"Yeah, he really does. He called her mom the other day when we were out getting lunch but she doesn't know it yet. I told him to wait until I asked her to marry me which will be on her birthday in a few weeks." Eddie smiled.
"Wow, I'm happy for you, man. Really proud too. Keep me posted on what they say about her head." Buck just put the plates on the table along with silverware. "Breakfast is done." Buck shouted, proudly.
Chris came into the kitchen shortly after, followed by Y/n. Eddie kissed her cheek. "How are you feeling, baby?" He asked.
"I feel a little bit better, still sore." Y/n smiled over at her boyfriend. He helped her sit down and handed her a plate of food. "Are you staying for breakfast, Buck?" Eddie asked.
"I can, yeah." He sat down, after getting a plate for himself. Chris was just eating away his food. Eddie watched Y/n carefully, making sure she was alright. He was still worried but didn't want to overstep her boundaries.

call me baby, maybe
chimney's first mistake, frankly, was thinking buck and eddie wouldn't take the opportunity to take a joke about their lack of verbal affection way, way too far.
or, one time buck and eddie call each other ridiculous petnames to wind chimney up, and five times they call each other genuine petnames.
ao3 link
Buck and Eddie had been dating for four months, when the conversation came up. Eddie hadn’t been expecting it, honestly – he thought the scrutiny of their colleagues had begun and ended in the first few weeks of their relationship, and that he and Buck had ceased to be all that interesting, once their relationship was old news.
Life had fallen into a blissful routine, if you asked Eddie – he spent nearly all his time with Buck. They’d given up the pretence of trying to maintain so-called healthy distance after the first month of their relationship – maybe if they hadn’t already known each other inside out, before they’d started dating, they’d have needed that, but Buck and Eddie had been best friends – partners, really – for so long that dating had felt like a natural progression of their relationship, rather than an adjustment.
Buck was going to move in permanently, in July – they thought it’d be best to do it while Christopher was on summer break, so he could have time outside of school to adjust to Buck living with them permanently (because, Eddie knew, that was going to be an adjustment – maybe less for Eddie, though learning to share his space with another person again was going to be an adjustment – but Buck’s permanent status in their day-to-day lives, from wake-up to bed-time, was going to change Christopher’s relationship with Buck; Buck couldn’t just be the fun parent, anymore, he had to be Eddie’s equal. Eddie predicted a few tantrums, in Christopher’s future) and life was everything Eddie could ever want it to be.
“You two really aren’t all that affectionate,” Chimney commented. It was nearing seven am, and they’d been on shift for an hour – and listen, Eddie didn’t believe in all of that superstitious crap the rest of the squad did, but it had been a very q-word hour so far.
Eddie raised an eyebrow, looking down to where Buck’s ankle was hooked over his own. “We’re at work, Chim,” he reminded. Bobby had been clear, from the moment Buck and Eddie declared their relationship to him officially – as happy as he was for them on a personal level, they were to limit the PDA while still on shift, which Eddie felt was entirely fair, actually. He wasn’t ashamed of Buck – not in the slightest – but his relationship with Buck had never felt like something he wanted to share the ins and outs of in a professional setting.
“No, I mean,” Chimney shifted in his chair, trying to dig himself out of the metaphorical hole he was digging himself. “Verbally.”
Buck’s confusion was clear enough to cover the both of them. “You don’t think we’re verbally affectionate?” he questioned, tapping his fingers against his leg. Eddie had known Buck long enough to know his every whim and cue, and understood what they all meant – nervous fingers, Eddie had realised a long time ago, were a clear sign of discomfort.
Eddie poked a finger against Buck’s side, giving his boyfriend a soft smile.
Hey , the smile said. I’m here .
“Yeah, I mean – you don’t like, say much,” Chimney said, and Eddie could blame it on Jee-Yun, but Buck had happily informed him that his niece now slept in solid eight hour stretches so Eddie wasn’t going to give Chimney that much leeway.
“I mean, some would argue I talk too much,” Buck countered, the easy grin on his face a clear sign he was happy to poke fun at himself, this time – to tease about how he did have a tendency to ramble. Unless Eddie was hungover, he found it all very endearing.
“No, I mean – you don’t use petnames!” Chimney declared victoriously, as though he’d cracked the code of their relationship. “Every couple uses petnames,” he said, looking to Hen for support – Hen, to her credit, ignored him with the practised skill of someone who’d spent many, many years ignoring Chimney’s nonsense. “Hen calls Karen babe!”
“I don’t want to be involved,” Hen deadpanned in response.
“I’ve definitely heard Bobby call Athena honey,” Chimney continued, grimacing slightly. It was strange, Eddie agreed, to think of their boss being mushy and in love – however true it was. “I call Maddie,” he paused, face flushing a startling shade of red, shifting uncomfortably under Buck’s harsh glare. Some things you didn’t need to know about your sister, Eddie agreed. “Lots of things.”
“I still don’t get your point,” Eddie shook his head. How Chimney managed to come up with this nonsense during their rare moments of peace, Eddie would never know.
Chimney shrugged. “I don’t know,” he said, continuing to speak anyway. “I’ve just never heard either of you use a petname, or anything. It seems – strange, to me. You’re obviously gross and in love,” he pulled a face, Eddie not needing to look at his boyfriend to know he was grinning proudly. “But you don’t say it in words.”

Operation Idiots in Love
Bobby
"Okay, that's it." Hen sighed as she watched Buck run up the stairs and out the front door. "I can't take it anymore. We have gotta get them together."
"Get who together?" Bobby asked, sipping a ginger ale.
"Those two idiots who are so far up each other's asses they can't see how in love with each other they are!" she exclaimed, gesturing to where Buck disappeared too.
Chimney was nodding enthusiastically as he listened to Hen. "He's literally abandoning us because Eddie called and said he broke up with the teacher!" He threw his arms up in the air, dangerously sloshing his own drink.
"Maybe we shouldn't meddle in their personal lives, guys," Bobby admonished lightly. "If Buck and Eddie are going to actually take the leap they need to do it on their own."
"Bobby, this is a family, and family meddles in each other's personal lives." Athena gently smacked his arm for emphasis. "Not to mention they're both so oblivious it could take 20 more years before they get it together." There were laughs and murmurs of agreement from their group.
Bobby and Athena had planned a small baby shower for Maddie and Chimney, not wanting to host too many people during a pandemic, but wanting to celebrate with their chosen family. It was just them, Hen and Karen, Buck and Albert, and of course Chimney and Maddie. Eddie had been invited but had back to back appointments for Christopher and was supposed to have lunch with Ms. Flores. They'd gotten through presents, cake, and some games and were mostly just hanging around and chatting in groups when Eddie called Buck to report that, for whatever reason, he and Ana had decided to call it quits. Buck had been sprinting up the stairs before Eddie had even stopped to take a breath.
"Whose personal life are we meddling in?" Maddie asked as she made her way over to them, leaving Karen looking bewildered with a very enthusiastically gesturing Albert.
"Buck and Eddie's," Chimney said, leaning over to kiss Maddie on the cheek when she gracelessly plopped next to him on the couch. "We can't take it anymore. They obviously need a push, just to get the ball rolling."
"I wholly agree," Maddie said. "They're never gonna get there on their own." She was slowly rubbing a circle on her stomach.
"We'll need to plan it out carefully," Hen said. "Maybe we should schedule something where we can get together and brainstorm."
"I'll make a group chat now." Athena set her drink down on a coaster on the coffee table and pulled out her phone.
"We should come up with a code name," Maddie said. "We don't want them knowing we're talking about them."
Grinning, Chim said, "Operation Just Admit It Already."
Hen snickered. "Operation No Homo."
"Excuse me?" Karen said walking up.
"Operation We Can't Stand the Sexual Tension Any Longer." At that Maddie shook her head then lightly pushed Chim.
Hen quietly explained what they were up to to her wife (who looked more and more gleeful with every word) while they all got a text from Athena who had finished creating their group chat. Bobby looked at his phone, a little dismayed to be included in it, but he smiled when he saw the name of the group chat.
"That's perfect, Athena." Maddie smiled. "It's not exactly discreet but they're so oblivious they would never think it's about them."
"Bobby called them that the other night, I thought it was fitting."
"We should include Carla! She'll be so angry if we don't. She likes to gossip about them with Maddie!" Chimney said.
"We do not gossip about my brother. We simply vent about how dumb they are." Hen and Karen laughed while Chimney rolled his eyes.
Bobby sighed, sure all future down time was going to be spent on this.
Operation Idiots in Love.
---
Maddie
The next day Maddie had some time, so she called Carla to explain what they were up to and she asked immediately to be added to the group chat.
"I've been watching those two dance around each other for years. It is high time they get it together."
"Oh I know!" Maddie exclaimed. She was sitting at the table with a cup of tea, wishing it was a second cup of coffee. "I met Eddie and Chimney at the same time and I said to Buck that day ‘he's cute’ meaning Chim, but Buck immediately responded with ‘he gets that a lot, you should see his son’ cause, you know, Eddie is always on his mind. Even back then." She shook her head even though Carla wouldn't be able to see it.
"They've both been through so much, before they met and after. I just want to see my two boys happy."
"And Christopher will be okay with it, right?" Maddie, who was always on the verge of tears these days, fought to keep herself from crying.
"Honey, Christopher has told me at least 4 times that he wants his dad to marry Buck, so that Buck can be around all the time!"
"He has?" Maddie asked, losing the battle with her tear ducts.
"That boy loves our Buckaroo so much,” Carla said, and Maddie could hear the smile in her voice.
"Buck loves him so much, too," she said, sniffling. "Okay I will add you to the group chat. But I am warning you now you might want to keep it muted. Chim and Hen have been blowing it up all morning."
After hanging up with Carla, Maddie had a stern talk with her tears ducts -we cannot cry over everything for the rest of this pregnancy!- downed her tea and quickly got ready for work. She'd downgraded to only working part time as her pregnancy progressed. Since this was a geriatric pregnancy (God, did Maddie hate that word) she knew she and the baby were at a higher risk and wanted to make sure she wasn't over exerting herself- not to mention the fact that she cried a lot easier these days. And when you're a 911 operator crying is not beneficial to the people who really need her help. When she got to the call center she saw May and Linda already on the phones and Josh standing with another operator named Cheryl. She quickly made her way to the locker room to stow her bag, stopped for more tea from the break room and settled in at her desk. It was an hour later when she got some inspiration from a call. The caller was a young woman, Daisy, who was on a first date at a small vegan restaurant, and her date, Cara, had been hit by a car while crossing the street after lunch- nothing serious just a broken leg, though, from the sounds of the scene, the driver was under the influence. She dispatched a squad car and EMS to the scene and waited with Daisy who was on the verge of a panic attack. Maddie was able to keep her calm by giving her clear directions on how to help her date, and reminding her to breath. Daisy had the phone on speakerphone, laying on the pavement next to Cara’s head and when the paramedics arrived Daisy let out a sob. “They’re here! Maddie, the paramedics are here!”
“Good. I may be a little biased, but the 118 is the best firehouse in the city and they will take excellent care of Cara.”
“Playing favorites, Mads?” she heard Chimney say followed by the smack of his chewing gum. “Guess I can’t really blame you. Alright, Miss, can you tell me your name?”
“Cara,” she said weakly. Daisy must have picked up her phone and turned off speaker phone because Chimney’s voice became quieter as he continued to assess Cara’s injuries.
“They know you?” Daisy asked.
“They do.” Maddie smiled. “We’re family.”
When Daisy disconnected the call, Maddie quickly wrote down the name of the vegan restaurant knowing that her brother would love it.
---
Hen
In the week since they started this group chat Hen and Chimney had been tossing out plenty of outlandish and silly plots to get the boys together, but she knew none of them would actually work. Maddie was working on something involving a restaurant but so far nothing had happened. They needed something so rational and normal that Buck and Eddie wouldn’t even question it. They needed a new tactic so she opened up Operation Idiots In Love and sent off a message.
When did you first realize? >Hen
Chimney< When Buck completely lost it when Eddie was trapped underground
Chimney< dude was clawing at the mud with his bare hands WAILING
Karen< Christmas 2019 he organized that whole dinner so Christopher could spend Christmas with his dad!
Carla< Xmas 2019 for me as well
Athena< When Bobby called Eddie after he stole Chimney’s phone and was nearly arrested.
Karen< Does that mean Bobby knew before then?
Karen< The first time Hen mentioned it to me was when Buck arranged for Christopher to spend the day at the firehouse. Is that when you knew, babe?
Chimney< 🤮 babe
That was the day I called it. The way that Eddie looked at Buck that day nearly knocked me over >Hen
👊🏾👀⚠️>Hen
Maddie< I think I knew for sure after the tsunami. Buck called me, completely wrecked because he didn’t know how to tell Eddie they were there.
Chimney< 🪓💪😙
Chimney< What about you cap?
Bobby< The tsunami was when I couldn’t ignore it anymore.
Bobby< No one else saw them after they took that live round out of the guy’s leg in the back of the ambulance. My gut knew then.
Maddie< Wasn’t that Eddie’s first week at the 118????
Chimney< IT WAS!
Bobby< I don’t think they were in love then. But I knew they would end up here.
Bobby< Buck was actually flustered when Eddie complimented him.
“Flustered!” Karen exclaimed. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen Buck flustered.” Hen gazed down at her wife who was laying across the couch with her head in Hen’s lap. Hen had been absentmindedly playing with Karen’s hair (which Karen loved) and had a few strands wrapped around her knuckles.
Chimney< You know that Eddie got under Buck’s skin that very first day
Chimney< If Buck hadnt been so wrapped up in Abby back then things would be so much easier now
Athena< I hate to say our Buck needed his heart broken, but the heartbreak from Abby certainly helped him get to where he is today.
Athena< We got front row seats to Buck maturing these past few years.
Buck 3.0 🙈🤣🙄 >Hen
Carla< He really has come so far ❤🙌🏼
Maddie, how is your plan coming along? 👀 >Hen
Maddie< So I'm thinking of asking him to meet me at this new trendy vegan restaurant, but I can’t think of a good reason for standing him up and suggesting he go with Eddie 🤔
Karen< He would jump at the chance to try a new vegan restaurant! 🌱🤤
Carla< Oh he would love that, not so sure about Eddie though 🥩
Maddie< Exactly
Chimney< Hes so pretentious
Maddie< Honestly, I figured Eddie would go because Buck asked. But even if he refused Buck would probably pick just another restaurant
Maddie< I just can’t think of a plausible excuse for bailing
Maddie< Buck is too good at telling when I am lying 🤥😔
Chimney< Tell him you’re having contractions! 🤰👶
He would just rush off to the hospital, Chim > Hen
Bobby< He would just want to be at Maddie’s side
Karen< No, he would just want to be there for Maddie
Chimney< Alright, alright, hes too good of a brother for that 🙏
Chimney< 🙄🙄
Hen looked at the time and sighed. “You okay with making dinner, while I do some homework?” she asked.
“Of course, babe,” Karen said, smiling up at her. “Just give me 5 more minutes on the couch with you.”
“Anything for you,” Hen said, leaning down to kiss her wife’s forehead.

Chimney
Maddie was at a doctor’s appointment and Chimney, upset at not being able to go and bored at home on his own, invited Buck and Albert to go on a short hike. It was a small trail that had only just opened up after the mudslide, and while Albert was a little disappointed it wasn’t a more difficult trail he at least understood that Buck and Chimney both were hesitant to embark on a long trail with Maddie so close to her due date. The trail was fairly empty so they had taken their masks off, though Chimney was a bit weirded out by how naked he felt without it while in public. With Albert running ahead and out of earshot, Chimney decided it was a good time to ask Buck about his love life.
And naturally- he was incredibly awkward about it.
“So, Buck 3.0?”
“Yeah?”
“Is he gonna dip his toe in the dating pool anytime soon?”
Buck let out a huff of breath, looking down at his feet. “Buck 3.0 is about letting go of the past, but honestly? I still don’t think that I’m really in the right headspace to be dating now. Therapy is helping, but it’s not an overnight process. It’s a lot of work letting go of nearly 30 years of low self esteem and abandonment issues.”
“You’ll get there,” Chim said, clapping Buck on the back. “You’re honestly one of the best people ever, Buck.” Buck looked over at him with a single raised eyebrow. “I will deny it if you tell anyone.” He pointed a finger a Buck for emphasis. “But you are my favorite brother.”
Buck’s face cracked into a brilliant smile and he put his hands over his heart. “Oh, Chim, do you mean it? Really and truly??”
Chimney laughed and gave Buck a shove. “I hope it echoes in your ears for the rest of your life because I’m never repeating it.”
“It’s okay. I’m Albert’s favorite brother too.”
“You are not!”
“And Albert has no problems telling me every time I wash his clothes.”
“You wash his clothes for him! Buck, never, ever give Albert anything he will never be able to take care of himself!”
“I don’t mind the laundry, so I don’t make a big deal about it. I do Eddie’s laundry sometimes too.”
“You do Eddie’s laundry?” Chimney asked, eyebrows raised high above his aviator sunglasses.
“Eddie hates doing laundry, and I mean hates. I’ve been over there while he was switching loads and he was grumbling under his breath the entire time. So sometimes if Eddie lets it pile up for too long I’ll do a couple loads while I’m there.”
“You do Eddie’s laundry?” Chim asked again, eyebrows still raised high. It was actually getting a little painful, so he let them relax and come back down. He couldn’t believe this. How domestic. He was definitely telling that to the group chat.
“Yeah, man, it’s not a big deal. Laundry helps my brain calm down. I focus on the clothes and not on all the negative shit running around up here.” He tapped his temple with his first finger, looking down at his feet again.
There was a couple jogging towards them so the conversation stalled while Chimney and Buck pulled out their masks and put them on.
They were quiet as the couple passed them, nodding in greeting and continuing on their way. When Chimney pulled his mask back off he asked, “So what happened with Eddie and the teacher?”
Buck looked over at him, eyebrows raised again as he tucked his mask into his pocket. “He didn’t really say,” Buck answered.
“He didn’t?” Chim asked. “Doesn’t he, like, tell you everything?”
“Usually. But you know Eddie. He processes things on his own time, and when he’s ready he talks about it. All he would say was that she is the one who ended it and that he wasn’t really that bothered because it was just casual and now he doesn’t have to talk to Christopher about him dating.”
“Christopher would be okay with him dating, though, right?”
“I think he would,” Buck answered. “He is legitimately the best kid I have ever met, and he wants his dad to be happy.” Buck looked at his feet here and Chimney noticed his cheeks were a little more red than before. “Chris told me once he wants his dad to date me.” He chuckled awkwardly and rubbed the back of his neck.
Chimney knew this already, because Maddie had told him what Carla said. He was very interested in how red Buck was turning though, another thing to report to the group chat. “Christopher wants you to date his dad?”
"If I date his dad then we can hang out all the time."
"You would love that." Chimney gave Buck a little shove. "Well all know Christopher is your favorite person in the entire world."
"He is," Buck agreed. He shoved Chimney back a little harder so that Chimney veered off the trail briefly. "He's better than you lot by miles."
They were quiet for a moment and Chimney debated whether or not he should ask. In the end his mouth won and he asked, "Would you?" Buck glanced over at Chimney but didn't say anything. "Date Eddie?" he clarified.
Buck turned an alarming shade of red and opened his mouth to respond when they heard Albert call to them.
"What are you two doing?" He was running towards them, sweaty and grinning. "I made it to the end of the trail and halfway back! Pick up your pace!!"
Buck grinned and took off running. Chimney took out his phone and started texting.

Athena
May was working, Bobby had run out to the store, and Harry was still staying with Michael so Athena found herself with a rare, quiet evening. She poured herself a glass of wine and headed to the table on the back patio. The Operation Idiots in Love chat she had started had been pretty active that day but Athena hadn’t had the chance to look through it until now. When she was all caught up with Chimney’s discussion with Buck and everyone’s reactions she sent off a “Sounds like they’re already dating…” and placed her phone face down on the table.
Over the years she had come to think of Buck as her step son of sorts and after seeing his heart break so many times, she just wanted him to finally be happy. Athena wasn’t one to believe that a person needed to be in a relationship in order to be happy, but the only time she had seen Buck looking genuinely content and happy was when he was around Eddie.
Plus she had been a cop for 30 years. She was an expert on picking up on the things left unsaid. She had no doubt that both of them wanted something more, but they were both too terrified of being rejected by the person they depend on the most.
Maddie’s plan was half cooked, at least, and Athena didn’t think that it would really work the way that they wanted it to - and not just because Eddie refused to eat vegan.
She was contemplating possible plans when Bobby returned. He dropped the groceries in the kitchen and came outside, hands falling on Athena’s shoulders and dropping a kiss to the top of her head.
“You’re radiating your Sergeant Grant energy,” he said as he pulled out the chair next to her. She just raised her patented Athena Eyebrow at him. “Lay it on me.” Bobby waved a hand between them. “What are you planning?”
“Nothing yet. Just thinking about what could work.”
“For Buck and Eddie?” “Mhmm.” Athena sipped her wine.
“You don’t think they need to get together in their own time? What if whatever ‘Operation’ we all come up with backfires and ruins their relationship?” The air quotes around ‘operation’ were very clear in his tone.
“I think that their relationship, as it is, is strong enough to withstand any sort of awkwardness that we may create if it backfires.” Bobby still looked skeptical. “Look, Buck and Eddie have both been burned in the past. And now they have essentially built their entire lives on top of each other. Co-dependant is how most people would think of it. They’re both terrified of losing each other so neither one of them will ever make the first move. They just need a little nudge. Something to get them both open their damn eyes and look at each other.”
“Okay,” Bobby said, nodding. “We need to keep Chimney and Hen reined in though. They seem to be a little too invested in this.”
“Agreed.”
“How about we have them over for dinner? Just the two of them and the two of us.”
“Mmm a double date?” Athena gave a second, totally different, patented Athena Eyebrow.
“That’s the goal isn’t it?” Bobby stood up pulling out his phone. “I’ll text them.”
“Have it be next Friday,” Athena called. “May will be working late that day.”
“Alright.” Bobby disappeared inside the house and Athena turned back to her wine. She picked up her own phone to text Hen and Michael about the three boys - Harry, Denny, and Christopher - having a much needed sleepover. Harry had been missing his friends since the pandemic started, and if it was just a small group Athena didn’t think they would have to worry too much.
Twenty minutes later Michael was added to Operation Idiots in Love and Athena was texting Eddie to see if Christopher could sleepover Michael’s next Friday.

Is he talking to Taylor here? I don't think so. My guess is that Taylor's not even there yet. I feel like this scene is in Bobby and Athena's house. They probably have a small gathering there to celebrate the success of their call. My theory about the "great" line is, Eddie comes to Buck to where he's standing and invited him to his house to finally meet Ana for dinner or whatever. Buck of course agree and he felt like uncomfortable ( I have no proof to back up his discomfort but the way how he looks when he said "great" doesn't look or sound like he's excited or happy) then Eddie is glad Buck agrees and leave him to meet the other people in the area. That moment is when he said "great" and then the doorbell rings signaling Taylor's arrival.
Tumblr media
Then here it is, Buck and Taylor finally talking and even said they make a great team.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But what makes Eddie decides to finally introduce Buck to Ana after more than 3 months of dating?
Again, my theory about this came from a pattern of events that happened from the previous episodes. Eddie's impulsive decisions has something to do with Buck's actions. Here's why.
Taylor Kelly was first introduced in 2x06 Dosed episode. Buck clearly show interest on Taylor after rescuing her on that chopper. It was also clear he show his interest when Taylor visited the firehouse for a documentary. Everybody was there to witness, including Eddie.
Shannon was first introduced in 2x07 Haunted episode through Carla's insistence. Carla talked sense to Eddie that Christopher needs his mother though Eddie made it pretty clear he doesn't want Shannon back in his life but because of Carla and the school, he finally gave in and invited Shan to his house. After the argument, he considered reconciling with his wife after the school visit and kissed her. Though hesitant at first, he kissed her again like kissing all his pain away.
Buck jumps back to the dating scene in 2x08 Buck Actually episode. He had sex with Taylor in a public restroom. He even went as far as talking about it to the 118 especially with Bobby. Eddie was there and he heard it. Also, during the episode, Ali's been calling Buck but was hesitant at first. Closing the episode, he finally agreed to meet Ali in a shop. That's when they started dating.
It is now known to everyone that Buck is dating Ali. This is when Eddie finally had sex with his wife in 2x10 Merry Ex-mas episode. After having sex and arguments, Eddie invited Buck instead to join him and Christopher to visit Santa. Buck loves to cry about the military surprised their family videos, Eddie realizes that he fully needs Shannon for Christopher.
Buck and Ali's relationship continues to grow (but there wasn't any build up) Buck finally found an apartment for himself so Ali can stay whenever she wants. Eddie and Shannon's relationship reconciled but it feels like they're both walking on eggshells. The only push that Eddie needs is that when Shannon though she's pregnant but was false alarm. She felt like Eddie looked at her as Chris' mom but not his wife anymore and so she wanted file a divorce and eventually died in 2x17 Careful what you wish for episode.
In 2x18, Ali left Buck. She loves him yes, but she can't handle Buck's job anymore after seeing him almost died.
Season 3 both Buck and Eddie are single. Hmm suspicious.
In Season 4 (LS's crossover episode) Buck was caught staring to Marjan by Hen and Eddie confirmed it by saying "you're staring" looking disappointed. Disappointed Eddie joins Judd, Paul and Marjan instead of his partner. He was intrigued why Buck was staring at her and decides to follows her on Insta. He talks about Buck helping him build the skateboard (It was Buck's idea anyway) and not-so defending him that he's harmless but mostly. It was bordering defending but clearing him while staring at Marjan to get a reaction from her. And later on asked her to follow back Buck in Insta. A mission accomplished for Eddie.
In 4x06, Buck announced the software update to Buck 3.0 - Kinder and Gentler version of himself. It was also his declaration of moving on from the past and starts to look for his future because he was tired of looking behind his shoulder. Eddie processed all the new information and even said that Buck should allow to give himself some time to process. An advice that he's been doing to himself, allowing some time to mourn more. STUCK. Eddie met Ana again. He talked about it to Buck but nothing came out of their conversation. He almost forgot about it when Buck's bratty attitude cornered him in front of his team mates about Ana's love languages (Like as if Eddie knows, right?) Hen, Chim and Bobby interrogates him about her. It was then implied that Eddie has no plans of dating Ana but it was Bobby that pushed him to go back out there to find something real. So Eddie dates Ana in an episode called JINX.
After learning Eddie's date (an implied scenario) Buck let himself back to the market as well in 4x07 and dated Veronica. It ended up in a disaster. He talks about it to Eddie even if the date didn't end well. Information is key.
After learning of Buck's back to dating again, Eddie dates Ana again, in her house. A Math date which he set an alarm for. Eddie did even say she's a terrible Math teacher but a great cook and an amazing woman. Just like a female version of someone. Buck is terrible at Math, can cook and obviously an amazing guy. Buck asked Eddie how was the date and he answered without looking his eye that she taught her MATH. It was an intentional slap to Buck's lack of Math knowledge. Why mention Math? I will never understand. Also, Taylor Kelly is back again. Covering at the same time the 118 attending the call. Buck was with Taylor most of the 6-hour waiting call while the 118 we're almost together. An implication that everyone knows including Eddie that Buck is with Taylor talking to her the whole damn time. So that night an impulse decision was made, he tells Chris that he's seeing someone. Christopher didn't take the news right and went straight to Buck's. Since they didn't show the scene where Eddie picks Chris to Buck's house where most probably he learned that Buck just came from a double date with Taylor and Albert with Veronica, and after learning Taylor called Buck to ask for a miracle, another impulse decision Eddie has made, he let Ana introduce her to his son too soon..
While Buck and Taylor continues to be friends, Eddie and Ana's relationship continues after 3 months of dating as seen by the time jump in 4x10 Parenthood episode.
As you can see, everything that Buck does first, it affects Eddie... In a very SUBTLE WAY. Another perfect example was the lawsuit. Buck's lawyer told Buck to stop communicating to the 118 (including Eddie) until the arbitration. The none contact triggered Eddie's past from Shannon. It was an implication that he put Buck in Shannon's position. The none contact has seen Eddie in an instant downward spiral. His impulsive decisions and constipated emotions led him to jail and almost kill someone in an underground fight club. This is the same person who will do everything for his SON, fyi.
So what I'm trying to say again here is, after the episodes 4x11 and 4x12 where most probably a Buck/Taylor centric episodes, Eddie's gonna make an impulse decision again and invite Buck to finally meet Ana to his house. And Buck, most probably bring Taylor with him. We'll see about that.

I posted something HERE About Bobby going up to Eddie and slapping him and basically calling him an idiot.  I had every intention to write a fic with him doing that. But instead, this happened.
Bobby knows something is brewing between Buck and Eddie the day they remove the grenade from Charlie’s leg. At first, he was worried because Buck was not exactly subtle in his distaste with Eddie. Then the grenade happened and all sudden they were inseparable, literally. Half the time on calls, they naturally just paired up. So, he sees the writing on the walls, the subtle looks and in some cases lingering looks. Then there is the lack of personal space and the fact that Buck has been helping Eddie Co-Parent Christopher. So, when Eddie mentions an Ana, he is genuinely confused and perhaps he read everything wrong. Except Buck and Eddie keep doing that thing where they look at each other.
So, when they have a moment, he has a whole speech prepared. Have hope it is okay to move on. Of course, you are always going to miss Shannon and perhaps always will. But that does not mean you should not give up on what’s in front of you. To miss out on something real, that could mean something. He doesn’t outright say Buck, but Eddie should know he’s talking about Buck. They spend an excessive amount of time together; he couldn’t be more straightforward than that. Besides why the hell would Eddie assume he’s talking about Ana, for god sakes he looks at Buck as if he hung the moon.
Except, Eddie goes out to breakfast with Ana and then he finds out about Buck’s failed date. And some of the members of the 118 have lost hope in their place in the bet. But Bobby isn’t deterred, and Hen remains determined. Chimney begs if he can back out and have his money back but then changes his mind, when the boys argue over who gets the net gun when they get a call about a turkey on the loose.
So, when Eddie mentions that he has another date lined up with her and that Buck is babysitting he has half a mind to strangle the man because, he’s got fifty bucks riding on this thing and really Eddie can’t be that obtuse and how can Buck also be missing the signs. Because Buck is now getting all cozy with Taylor and perhaps, they were all wrong, except they don’t stop with the eye contact and the touching. Then he hears about what happened with Christopher and he thinks to himself, “This is it, this is when they are going to realize that they love each other.” But then he hears about Eddie introducing Christopher to Ana and Buck is at his doorstep, shoulders hunched, and Bobby feels like he wants to punch someone. He loves Buck like a son and knows that Athena feels the same way. And seeing his son looking so heartbroken, hurts. “Buck,” he says softly.
“I uhh…I’m sorry,” Buck says, voice hoarse, “I didn’t know if-I’m..oh jeez Bobby I’m in love with Eddie and I am freaking out!”
Well crap. Now he feels a little ashamed about his spot in the 118 Buddie Bet.
He’s glad that May and Harry are with their dad before he embraces Buck in a hug and Athena is pulling Buck into the house and ushering him onto the couch. They both work in tandem, Athena covering Buck in a blanket and Bobby pushing a mug of hot cocoa into Buck’s hand. Buck doesn’t say a word, just stares a hole into the floor. “Buck, baby,” Athena says, “do you want to tell us what happened?”
Buck shakes his head, inhaling deeply before letting out a shaky breath. Then Buck is rambling, voice rising on the verge of sounding hysterical, “Do I have to right now, I don’t want to right now, I just figured this out right now and I think it’s always been there and now I don’t know what to do with information and I really just-”
“Buck, Buck!” Bobby yells alarmed, “It’s okay, it’s okay!” as he takes the mug from the man’s hands it to Athena and gathers Buck into his arms in a tight hug. He doesn’t much else, just lets the younger man let it all out. It doesn’t take long before he feels Buck’s breathing even out indicating that he’s fallen asleep. With some help from Athena, Bobby manages to slip out from under Buck and they lay him down onto the couch. Athena places a gentle kiss on Buck’s temple before covering him with a blanket and they both retire for the night.
Buck is gone before they wake up the next morning, the blanket folded on the couch with a note, laying on top: Sorry for coming in late and thank you for letting me stay the night. Please, please don’t tell anyone. Love, Buck. When Bobby tries to flag Buck down the next morning, he tells him, “I don’t want to talk about it, not right now.”  So, Bobby leaves him alone and he watches as Buck pulls away from Eddie. And he watches Eddie’s face turn from confusion to sadness as the day drags on. Great, just great.
Hen and Chimney have noticed the tension and so have the other firefighters. Buck starts sitting next to Hen rather than Eddie when they sit down to eat. During calls Buck requests if he can drive, or even sit in the front seat. The last straw was Buck grabbing Chimney by the arm and dragging him down the stairs saying it was important, after he saw Eddie walking towards him. They all find out later that the very important topic was whether the baby would enjoy a stuffed giraffe or a stuffed elephant as from Uncle Buck. And this question is very important because this stuffed animal could be the baby’s best stuffed animal friend.
So, here they are now in the locker room, just Buck and Eddie. Anytime Buck tries to escape, Eddie anticipates his every move. They seem to be keeping their voices low, but Bobby can tell that Buck is wanting out, by the way his hands keep shaking at his side and opening and closing into a fist. “Come on Buck,” he can hear Eddie says as he jogs closer to the locker room, “just, can you tell me what I did wrong so I can fix it? Please?”
“It’s fine Eddie, it’s not you-”
“Oh, don’t give me that it’s not you it’s me bull shit!” Eddie shouts
“But Eddie, I swear it’s just, I got a lot going on and I just, I need time.”
“I get that, but Buck, you won’t even look at me or even sit next to me? Did I do something wrong?”
Buck shakes his head, “No, um you didn’t”
“Then why are you avoiding me? Is it because of what happened with Chris? I’m not mad about that”
“No, it's not about Chris-”
Bobby chooses that moment to enter, because he can see the panicked look in Buck’s eyes, “Hey, is everything okay?” Buck chooses that moment to escape, bolting out of the room.
“I think I lost my best friend, Cap,” Eddie whispers as he watches Buck go, “I don’t even know what I did wrong, he won’t talk to me.” Bobby stays silent and he watches as Eddie sulks out of the locker room.
Bobby learns that Eddie had broken up with Ana two days later when Eddie shows up at his doorstep, hands in his pocket looking lost. Damn these boys he thinks to himself as he lets Eddie into his home. “Tell me what happened?”
“I did what you said Bobby, I took a chance, and it blew up in my face. Chris was mad, then he liked her and now he doesn’t and Buck, he won’t even look at me or talk to me.”
The Captain sighs as he leads Eddie toward the dining table and orders him to sit down. Athena eyes the younger man suspiciously before turning to her husband. They share a silent conversation with their eyes and Athena knows why he’s here. She begins making some tea before handing Eddie a mug and Bobby one and seats herself down. “I took your advice Bobby, I put myself out there and it got me here. My son mad, Buck won’t even talk to me and Ana well she took the breakup well and I don’t even know how to process that too, in fact she seemed to know something I didn’t.”
“Eddie,” Bobby says, “you keep saying you took my advice, remind me again what did I say?”
“You said that I could miss out on a chance to have something else, something real.”
“Eddie,” Athena cuts in, “think really hard for a moment, perhaps Bobby didn’t mean Ana, perhaps he meant someone else.”
“Someone you already have in your life, someone else you already know,” Bobby adds in
“Buck,” Eddie whispers and suddenly he’s up like a shot out of the chair, “I have to go,” he says hastily as he runs towards the front door before skidding to a stop and backtracking to the table. He gives a hug to Bobby and Athena, “Thanks!” he shouts then he’s out of the house the front door slamming shut.
“These boys,” Athena sighs.
Eddie and Buck arrive together the next morning, shoulders bumping sharing soft smiles. Bobby tries to ignore the red mark that can be seen on peeking out from the collar of Buck’s shirt, but Hen and Chimney don’t. They tease Buck and Eddie looks so smug, but it with the two men finally getting their act together the atmosphere in the station shifts. Everything is back to normal.  Eddie corners Bobby later that morning after breakfast a smile on his face as he hugs him tightly, “Thanks Bobby,” he murmurs.
“You're welcome,” Bobby replies, “oh and you owe me fifty bucks.”
“Wait..what?”
Bobby isn’t even mad that he lost the bet, it’s no surprise to anyone that Hen won, he’s starting to think that she is cheating. But he can’t be mad because Buck is back to his normal self, bouncing around the firehouse, smiling and laughing.
“No Hen!” Buck whines, “hey! Give me the controller!”
“Buck!” Hen exclaims, “You can’t keep doing this when we play this game!”
“Eddie! Do something!”
Who cares if he lost, his son is happy and if is also right in his assumption, his future son-in-law is no longer sulking like a toddler. If an intervention needs to happen again, he won’t wait long this time. “Eddie!” Buck laughs out, “hurry! She’s cheating!”
Buck watches Eddie excuse himself from the conversation, he’s having with one of the other fighters to rescue Buck. The man is laughing as he plops himself down next to him. “I don’t understand why you do this all time when you play with her.”
Buck squawks, “Excuse me, I don’t do this all the time!?”
“You do!” Hen and Eddie laugh out
Maybe he won’t need to do an intervention. Eddie is looking at Buck fondly and Buck is grinning back at him. And Bobby knows that grin, Buck is totally going to be the one to propose, he’s calling it.
He called it wrong. Damn, Eddie Diaz.

SUMMARY: Eddie's parents come to Los Angeles and, finally, he can spend some time alone with Buck. He also has to keep a promise he made the last time they fucked, and Buck is eager to claim his prize. FANDOM: 9-1-1 (TV) RELATIONSHIP: Evan Buckley / Eddie Diaz WORDS: 5.4k.
Sequel of It wasn't a joke! [READ ON AO3]
Full story under the cut.
Two weeks passed since that shower, and things got surprisingly more difficult than before. Both Buck and Eddie didn’t want to tell everyone what happened between them, not only because Buck wasn’t a fan of telling his sister that he fucked his colleague in the showers of the fire station – Bobby wouldn’t love to hear that as well – but because they would have to file a lot of reports and documents about their relationship. And then Christopher, even though he loves Buck with his whole chest, isn't ready yet. Or at least that’s what Eddie thinks. Even after Eddie’s promise of “next time you’ll top”, they were never able to sleep together, let alone having sex. From long shifts to the impossibility to stay alone the time they need to have some fun, they continued by just staring at each other during work and off work. And of course, texting.
They never risked going to the other’s house and coming to work together: no one in the fire station must know. But Buck has no patience at all when it comes to Eddie, he has to refrain and stop himself from touching or kissing him. They both steal quick kisses from each other when no one is looking. He hates how he has to hide their relationship; it’s true that they are just waiting for them to come out as a couple – Buck is certain that everyone has their bet since that night and that kiss – but he understands that he has to. And he loves Christopher too as much as Eddie does, even if they’re sure that Chris wouldn’t hate any of that, they don’t want to drop the bomb on the kid like it’s nothing. Cause it’s not nothing. On the contrary, they want to be together every hour and every minute, they want to be able to sleep together and be themselves in front of everyone, participate as an actual couple to the dinners with the others and not act annoyed when everyone puts them side by side. It was actually funny the first times, now Buck is growing more and more impatient.
Both of them are looking forward to a night together, alone, with no distraction or whatsoever. No problems, nothing, just them. Luckily, Eddie’s family is coming to town that week and they wanted to take Christopher to the house they rented and spend the night with his grandparents that are never able to see him since they live in Texas. Eddie just had to be sure that the house was safe and that his parents had everything their grandson needed. Finally, the day has come, and Buck is excited too because he knows what that means.
“When?” He asks Eddie as their shifts are about to end and they’re alone to finish cleaning the fire truck, stealing glances while hoping no one would notice.
“9 pm. My parents are coming to take Chris at 8:15 pm but they always stay longer than usual, and usually, I don’t mind, but, you know…” He smiles and Buck follows with another smile. Yeah, he knows. He’s waiting for that moment since that shower, he can’t stop thinking about it.
“Oh, shut up.” Buck puts away the towel and everything else. The truck is now shiny again and looks brand new with that flaming red.
“Okay guys, we can go home now. See you all tomorrow!” Bobby’s voice echoes in the half-empty room. Everyone says goodbye at the same time. Hen calls Karen saying that she’s leaving at that moment to come home, Chimney does the same with Maddie.
“Do you have any plans, Eddie? Are your parents here yet?” Everybody knew about Eddie’s parents coming to Los Angeles for a week.
“Yeah. They’ll take care of Chris for the night to let me relax. It’s not that I never relax, but it will be nice for Christopher to spend some time with his grandparents. They almost never see him and since they rented an apartment, I thought that they would like it as well. I made sure they’ll have everything they need, it’s already prepared and in the bags, so they’ll just get to the house, take the bags, and spoil their grandson as they usually do. So I’ll have the house all for myself.” And Buck. Who is standing right beside him, in front of Buck.
“Any date tonight, Buck?” The shift ended pretty early, and Bobby, like the others, doesn’t really care about eventual dates Buck would go to. All of them take turns in teasing either Buck or Eddie about dates, relationships, girls they are seeing, and the like. Chimney already lost his bet, 4 days. Bobby wants to keep going for a little more since he said three weeks. Maddie is ashamed that they’re gambling on his brother’s love life, even though she would have said three weeks as well, Athena accepted the bet with Bobby. Even Karen made his bet, against Hen who said two weeks. Hen is the one keeping the money because she knows that she would have won the bet.
“No, not really.” It’s not like he’s lying, Eddie is not only a date anymore. They’re together.
“Okay Buck, see you tomorrow. And enjoy your night alone, Eddie!” He pats his hand on Buck’s shoulder and everyone goes home as the night shift squad comes in.
Buck is playing with his phone in his hand waiting for Eddie’s text saying that the road is clear. At one point, he just can’t wait anymore and opens the chat with him.
(8:49) Are you alone yet?
(8:52) Not yet. They’re leaving now.
(8:53) Okay, I’ll go get the car, then.
(8:58) They’re gone. I’m alone. Drive safe but be quick. (8.59) See you soon.
Buck never drove so fast while having everything under control, checking every crossroad, and stopping at every traffic light, but he is craving to have some time alone with Eddie and he can’t wait any longer. He gets to Eddie’s house a little faster than usual, he parks his car and immediately rings Eddie’s doorbell. As the man opens the door, Buck almost jumps on Eddie and closes the door with his foot as he literally smashes his lips on Eddie’s lips, taking off his shoes right after it. After two weeks of fast kisses that didn’t last even two seconds, being able to fully feel Eddie’s soft lips is driving him crazy. Finally, he repeats in his head. Eddie thinks the same thing as his hands grab Buck’s hips and he pushes him to the front door.
“We have the entire night, Buck…” He whispers, but he’s the one that can’t stop touching his man. “And the entire morning too. My parents will bring Christopher back only for lunch, we have to get to work at 8:30 am…” Buck smiles at the mere idea of having the whole night for them and them only. After having sex in a shower, knowing that this time they would have an actual bed for themselves and they could even sleep together makes him happy like never before. No one made him that happy in his life more than Eddie, no girl made him smile as Eddie does.
“Are you really making me wait?” No matter how much Buck loved the idea of having all that time available, he wants to claim his prize.
“Yeah.” Eddie laughs, locking the door and taking Buck by the hand, leading him towards his bedroom. He knows and remembers what he has promised to him. He’s eager too, he wants to feel Buck, he wants to feel him inside and see him towering over him.
“You bas—” Eddie puts a finger over Buck’s lips, and Buck shuts up.
“Shut up for a moment.” But he can’t wait either. Even before stepping inside the room, Eddie pushes Buck on the wall, licking his lips as his hands slowly raise Buck’s white shirt that barely holds his muscles. Buck can’t complain, to be honest, and he puts his arms between their bodies to unbutton the shirt until his chest is free and Eddie can touch it with both hands. Eddie’s fingers slide slowly on Buck’s skin and his fingertips tease the already hard nipples, pinching them and twisting them, something that gets Buck to moan softly. Buck gets rids of the shirt very quickly and while shirtless he puts his hands on the abs of his partner, pulling the shirt out of his pants and quickly starting to touch Eddie’s abs.
“You couldn’t wait either.” Buck chuckles. “I like it.” He forces Eddie to change position so he’s the one on the wall and Buck has full access to his body. He does the same thing Eddie did just a few moments before: he takes off Eddie’s shirt, throws it on the floor, and goes with his fingertips on his nipple, but then he adds his mouth. Buck licks, bites, and pulls them, making Eddie shiver. Eddie puts a hand in Buck’s hair, pulling it to raise Buck’s head so he can kiss him again. Then, he pushes his chest to make him fall on the bed, but as he comes closer to get on to him, Buck puts his bare foot on Eddie’s bare chest, stopping him.
“You promised.” He says, starting to rub his foot on Eddie’s body, going down on his crotch, pushing with his foot to see if his man is already turned on.
“I know. I’m good at keeping promises.” Eddie caresses Buck’s foot, as he looks right into his eyes. “You’re the top, tonight. In my house, on my bed. I want to feel yours while you fuck me on my own bed.” That leaves Buck a bit shocked and aroused at the same time. Eddie never used this language before.
“I didn’t know you were so eager to feel me inside you.” Buck starts teasing too, since Eddie clearly enjoys that game. “How much do you want me to fuck you, Eddie?” He asks, lifting his foot on Eddie’s pecs, slapping him with his sole, and bringing it then on his neck.
“I want you to fuck me in all positions and in this entire room.” Even though Eddie was kind of dominating during the shower sex, now he’s the one who looks ad Buck like a puppy ready to receive his orders. He grabs Buck’s foot again, massaging him and bringing it down again on his crotch.
“Undress me.” Eddie didn’t need anything else. He quickly gets his hands on Buck’s jeans, unzipping them and pulling them towards him to take them off. Buck’s briefs get the same treatment and Buck’s muscular, well-defined, and almost completely shaved body is right in front of him, sexy as the last time he saw him. To be honest, Buck has sent some pics to Eddie, especially when he was right out of the shower; and even if he never showed his dick in those pictures, it was clear that he was naked when he took them. Having Buck naked again and in front of him makes him almost drool. Buck stops Eddie from getting naked and slowly unzip his pants and lowers them. One hand grabs Eddie’s bulge, massaging it as the other hand pinches Eddie’s left cheek.
“Oh, fuck…”
“You’re about to experience the full top Buck experience.”
“You didn’t really say tha—” but Buck tightens his hold on Eddie’s bulge and his voice breaks as he talks, moaning and closing his eyes. Even if he’s the one topping, Buck loves giving head to his partners. And he loves Eddie moaning as he touches him. He grabs his underwear with his teeth, pulling it down and freeing Eddie’s erection. Without any hesitation he rubs his tongue on the head, holding the base tightly and massaging his balls at the same time. Eddie didn’t expect that at all, but hearing his moans it is clear that he is liking it. A lot.
Buck’s tongue moves slowly and making circular movements on Eddie’s head, jerking the cock with his hand as he focuses on giving pleasure to his partner. Buck loves pleasing Eddie. He always loved hearing his partners happy and moaning as he goes down on them, but Eddie’s moans are something different. Ethereal, he may say, if he’s feeling poetic.
“Buck…” He can feel a hand on his hair as he takes the whole cock inside his mouth, massaging his balls while the other hand goes back, on Eddie’s ass, grabbing his cheek. He could get addicted to Buck’s blowjobs. Eddie would like to move his hips and fuck Buck’s throat, but he’s not the one in control that night. And Buck seems really committed and focused like he has been dreaming and planning that night since that day. He actually has been. He imagined it all and planned every move, mostly, but the most important thing is to have fun and making it last, they both know that they don’t know when and where they’ll be alone together to do this. Buck wants to do things at his pace, take it slowly, make it last as long as possible, and make Eddie have his best orgasm in his life.
“Yeah, babe?”
“Keep going, please.” Buck smiles and stops, leaving Eddie’s cock twitching and covered with saliva since he doesn’t want him too excited, even though it would be cool making Eddie cum twice in the same night. Buck lays back and rests on his elbows on the bed, spreading his legs as his hard dick stands up.
“Suck it.” Buck smiles proudly at seeing Eddie getting on his knees quietly and obediently, opening his lips and immediately starting to lick the tip, taking it into his mouth. Then he slowly slides down, taking the whole thing in, while keeping his eye up to see Buck’s reaction and his expression, which could be explained with just two words: pure joy. Buck moans softly while he keeps his legs wide open and sees his cock disappear inside Eddie’s mouth. “You’re so hot.”
Eddie moves his head slowly and then faster, then he goes back to slow movements again, and Buck keeps filling the room with his moans. He puts a hand between Eddie’s dark curls, pushing his head down and forcing him to stay down with all his cock inside his mouth, touching the back of his throat, but Eddie doesn’t stop his tongue. It keeps rotating and twirling around Buck’s erection as he breathes through his nose; his saliva collects quickly in his mouth and drips down Buck’s testicles.
The warm sensation of Eddie’s mouth on his cock will never tire Buck: he lets his head go, so Eddie can go back at moving his head up and down Buck’s thick cock. The sloppy noises fill up the room accompanied by Buck’s moans, and both of them are getting more and more excited. They have waited two weeks for that, their balls are full and they are eager to be together for real. Eddie wants to feel Buck inside his ass, but having him inside his mouth is giving him pleasure too, even if he’s not the one receiving that blowjob. The taste of Buck’s precum on his palate keeps his body excited and his cock hard.
“Stop, stop…” Buck pulls Eddie’s hair, lifting his head only to see him with his mouth still open, the tongue out, and he can’t help but softly hit his tongue with his erection, then he rubs the tip on his face, wetting him with his own saliva. “Fuck, I want to cum in your mouth so bad.” This dominant side of Buck is something that Eddie never saw, but he loves it.
“Next time.” He laughs, licking his lips and caressing Buck’s thighs, softly rubbing his nails on his skin but with no intention of hurting him, he just can’t stop touching his man.
“Right. Next time. Now I want to taste you.” Buck pushes away Eddie and stands up. “Lay down.” Eddie obeys immediately, spreading his legs as he thinks that Buck wants to suck his cock again. “No, babe, not that part.” He pushes Eddie further on the bed and raises his legs so he can look at his hole, smiling as he looks at Eddie for a quick moment before burying his head between his legs. Even though he’s interested in his hole, the tongue starts moving by touching and lapping his balls. Then he bites Eddie’s inner thighs, making his man groan with pleasure. Buck lifts even more Eddie’s ass and spreads his cheeks wider, rubbing the entrance with one finger and then putting his tongue right over it. He shoves his lips on his entrance and the tongue slides in, pushing inside; it makes circular movements, then up and down, then again from left to right. Then the movements become like dots on the entrance, and then completely inside again. Eddie is helpless and desperate: with his legs up in the air he can’t even think about anything else than Buck’s tongue inside his hole.
“Fuck, you’re so good!”
“Thanks.” He stops just to say that, but then he goes back to his job. He licks the whole entrance, taking his time and having fun, kissing Eddie’s hole like it’s his mouth. After a while he teases him with one finger along with his tongue, rubbing it on the hole fast as he keeps on licking. The finger goes in, and then another, he puts them all inside and angles them up, reaching for Eddie’s prostate. Eddie’s moans get louder and louder, they fill the bedroom and even the adjacent rooms. But Buck doesn’t want to stop at all: he puts another finger inside him, and it’s starting to get a little tight, so that’s the opportunity to stretch him a little bit more, to make everything that is going to happen next easier.
Eddie’s cock just drips precum as Buck takes care of his hole so well. He touches Eddie’s prostate slowly so that he wouldn’t cum straight away, but he loves seeing his man moan and his body twitching, muttering intelligible words and sounds, but he can understand his name. It’s the only thing Eddie really tries to say correctly, but the voice breaking due to Buck’s fingers inside him make that quite difficult.
“Please… Buck…” Buck hears him begging and lifts his head up. He doesn’t know how many minutes have passed since he first put his tongue inside him, but since he’s begging either he wants to cum or he really wants to be fucked.
“Not yet. We have the entire night, remember?” And on top of that, both of them haven’t come in two weeks: he must be careful about how much pleasure he’s giving him. Buck has just started, and Eddie doesn’t know how much dominant and rough and kinky Buck can get. Satisfied with his work on Eddie’s hole, Buck steps away and finally, Eddie can put his legs down, but he doesn’t even have the opportunity to sit that Buck sits on his chest. His wet red tip touches gently Eddie’s chin, but Buck slides back with his body so that he can lean and kiss his man.
“You look so desperate…” Buck chuckles. It’s quite funny to him how much Eddie has changed since the shower.
“Just fuck me.”
“Eager firefighter. Calm down and kiss me.” Buck grabs Eddie’s jaw to open his mouth, spits in it, and then sticks his tongue inside it, grinding his ass on Eddie’s cock. Their tongue swirls. His tongue has just been in my ass, thinks Eddie. It’s so fucking hot. And he puts his hands on Buck’s back, helping him grind on his erection, and their cocks are rubbing one against the other, making them moan in the other’s mouth.
“Please…” Eddie tries again, just for the sake of it. Buck laughs and shakes his head, pinching Eddie’s bottom lip with his fingers and then putting them in his mouth.
“Suck.” Eddie’s look says just one thing: fuck you. But he sucks Buck's fingers. “You should know I’ve waited for this for two weeks and, babe, I had the time to plan. I have to take advantage of this time we have for ourselves.” Buck slowly stands up on the bed, so that Eddie can look at his man from under his legs, then he turns around and sits again on Eddie, but this time he rubs his balls on Eddie’s face.
“Take it in.” Buck forces his dick down Eddie’s throat until he can feel his nose touching his testicles, and then he does the same with the man’s erection, deepthroating it. Buck doesn’t care that Eddie has his mouth full, he starts to fuck his throat from that position as he sucks Eddie’s cock. It doesn’t last much, at least for what it concerns Eddie’s cock, because Buck is now seriously thrusting his cock in Eddie’s mouth, moaning deeply and loudly as he feels again that warm sensation. “I love your mouth so fucking much, Eddie.” He laughs, taking it out and sitting beside Eddie’s head, leaning over him in a perfect and steamy Spiderman kiss.
“And I love your cock. And your body. Every inch of it.”
“Every inch?” Buck looks at his feet, close to Eddie's body.
“You are not making me lick your feet, Buck.”
“I am the top now, remember?” He laughs and goes back between Eddie’s legs, but this time he just sits between his thighs, he is just playing, and he doesn’t actually want to have Eddie’s tongue on his foot. He is thinking of something else. His left sole goes on Eddie’s erection, rubbing it over it and pushing the foot down, and that is surprisingly good for Eddie. Even his moaning sounds very surprised, but he pushes his cock against Buck’s foot who now just keeps going, massaging his whole cock from the tip to the base, and even his balls.
“Now it’s all wet with my saliva, though.”
“I’m not doing it.” Eddie doesn’t even give him the time to think about it.
“Whatever, I didn’t want it.” And without a warning Buck shoves one finger inside Eddie again, just one, to prepare him. It’s time, he says in his mind, while looking at Eddie’s sweaty body.
“OH, FU—” Even if Buck didn’t want to, he doesn’t want Eddie’s neighbors to know he’s having the best sex of his life, and so he reaches for Eddie’s mouth with his foot to shut him up. It isn't the easiest movement to male, but Buck can now feel Eddie's lips on his toes.
“I thought you wanted this.” As Buck chuckles, Eddie pushes away Buck’s foot, but then he grinds his butt against his finger and moans louder, looking at his man. Buck takes away his fingers and gets on his knees, in front of Eddie’s hole, and rubs the tip over it. “Here.” He slowly penetrates him, and he doesn’t stop until he is all inside.
“Fuck, finally.” Eddie lets out a long moan, feeling every inch of Buck inside his butt. That feels so good, after what it could be more than an hour of teasing and foreplay. If Eddie were being honest, he would have even sucked both Buck’s feet if that meant that he could have finally had him inside; now that he is, he forgets about everything else.
“I want to hear the words…” He stays still, but still inside Eddie, who grunts.
“Fuck me.”
“And…?”
“Fuck me, Buck.” He loves hearing him moan his name.
“And…”
“Fuck me, Buck. Please.” Buck leans over Eddie and starts to thrust inside him, slowly at first but putting it more and more strength. Even though he’s going quite fast, he doesn’t give his all so that can last longer than usual. He knows that they’re both not that far from the climax, but he really wants to please Eddie with every move, every thrust, every time he goes back in, he wants to see the pleasure in his man’s eyes. And Eddie is already satisfying him, with his long manly moans and his muscles contracting, following the rhythm established by Buck’s pounding. Buck’s dick slides perfectly inside Eddie’s body. Buck alternates his velocity, from fast thrusts to slow and sensual ones, aiming at Eddie’s prostate. They are just one soul, even after all the things Buck did to Eddie’s hole, even after the semi foot job he gave him, when they have sex it’s the best thing they ever do: their connection is at its peak, they don’t even need to speak to communicate. Moans are enough.
Buck grunts heavily as he pulls out and changes positions, putting Eddie on his side and then laying behind him, lifting Eddie’s left leg and shove his cock back inside him. They never stop moaning even in between the change of position, and in that way he can kiss, bite, and lick Eddie’s neck and shoulders while he fucks him. Buck licks the sweat off Eddie’s body, then he bites him on the neck and even the ear lobe: Buck is hungry for him, he wants to taste him all, bite and lick every inch of his body, leaving marks, because he would really like to make everyone know that he’s his. While Eddie, who didn’t want any hickeys or bites, at that moment wants Buck to leave as many marks as he wants.
“You’re taking it so well.” Buck whispers to Eddie’s ear, grabbing his thigh with his hand and lifting it even higher. They both feel the pleasure rise quickly, Eddie knows that he’s close, and closer than Buck for sure.
“Buck…” He moans, warning him. Buck lets go of Eddie’s leg and puts the hand around his neck.
“Don’t come. Hold it.” He moans with a very commanding voice, and Eddie must obey. He nods, Buck smiles, deciding that he likes feeling his neck under his fingers he keeps the hand on it, choking him only slightly, as he breaths on the back of his head.
The thrusts are violent and rough, they moan together as one as the hold on Eddie’s neck becomes stronger. Buck moves his hand on Eddie’s hard nipples, twisting them and torturing his body while his cock now doesn’t have any more friction. Eddie is a moaning sweaty mess, his body keeps twitching every time Buck hits the prostate, and his toes curl up. So close. Buck takes his cock out again, taking Eddie and putting him on all fours, on the bed, with his pretty hole in front of him and thrusting in him again. From that position, he can pull his hair and lift his head, scratch his back a little, and while pulling his hair he goes back to fuck him until he hears his balls hitting Eddie’s ass. Eddie is finally used to it, there is no more resistance or anything like that, both of them are enjoying the most pleasure they had in a while and Buck can’t wait to see him cum all over himself. Eddie contracts his muscles as he’s at his limit, and when Buck feels them surrounding his hard member he immediately pulls out to get Eddie on his back and lift his legs. Eddie puts his ankles on Buck’s shoulders, opening his hole with the hands and helping his man coming back inside.
“Please…” Buck nods and he starts fucking him again with even more strength than before.
“Come.” He moans, grabbing his feet and thrusting inside him without any hesitation, without stopping; he wants to see his man cum and moan and cry for the pleasure he’s giving him. It doesn’t take that long.
“B-Buck…” Eddie moans, arching his back as he feels like his body is on fire. The pleasure is way too much to hold it in and he finally shoots his warm load on his whole chest: he has never cum so hard. The powerful orgasm ends with Eddie panting under Buck who is still fucking him, he hasn’t stopped a second even while the man was cumming, and he enjoyed every contraction of Eddie’s muscles around his erection.
“Fuck, Eddie, you look so hot.” Buck is close too, and when he realizes he’s about to cum he starts pulling out, but Eddie shakes his head.
“Inside.” He whispers, tiredly, and Buck nods. With a huge grunt and a loud moan, he sticks his dick all inside Eddie, releasing his load in his hole.
“Fuck, fuck!” Buck keeps filling him up. “Fuck, it’s so much!” They moan together, Eddie is now covered with sweat and cum, and he has it even inside his hole. Buck stays inside Eddie even after his orgasm has ended, enjoying the warm sensation of Eddie’s inside along his own semen that surrounds his erection, and then he softly kisses Eddie’s foot while they both calm down.
“Don’t come out yet. I want to feel you.” Buck can’t disagree, and he lets go of Eddie’s feet so he can bend over him and, while staying inside him, kiss him softly and slowly. Still hungry for more, however, Buck starts licking away Eddie’s load off his chest, swallowing every drop he can catch with his expert tongue, and then he goes back to Eddie's lips. That kiss tastes like saliva, sweat, and cum, and it’s the hottest thing Eddie has ever tasted. Even if they are done with it, Buck keeps grinding on Eddie, pushing his cock inside him as it loses its erection and becomes flaccid.
“It’s gonna take a lot of work to clean you. We made a mess.”
“We made love; this is not a mess. It’s everything I wanted.” Eddie grabs Buck by the back of his head and pulls him down to him kissing him again. Their bodies touch, Buck’s chest gets dirty with Eddie’s semen as they keep rubbing them one over the other. “You came so hard, I feel completely full.”
“Yeah.” Buck nods, licking Eddie’s lips. “I should make you eat it. It’s coming out either way.” Eddie’s eyes widen and suddenly he gets quiet. Buck smiles, reaching Eddie’s hole with one hand and collects some of his own cum with his fingers. After he is satisfied with the amount he got, he drops it right in Eddie’s mouth. Eddie swallows it all without making any sound, only a happy sigh after his mouth it’s empty.
“I was right, next time I’m filling up your mouth.” Buck kisses him again and lays beside Eddie. They both need to take a shower, but they want to take those quiet minutes for themselves. Just cuddling – even if they are dirty – and soft kisses. Buck puts one leg over Eddie’s lap and rubs their feet together.
“You kissed my foot.”
“Yeah.”
“Did you like it?” Buck doesn’t know how to answer that. “I wouldn’t mind.”
“Just a bit. I got carried away during sex, I think.” Two fingers softly caress Eddie’s jaw.
“I mean I did like the foot massage on my dick…”
“Don’t get me horny again, Eddie.” Buck laughs, shoving his face on Eddie’s shoulders.
“Look who’s shy now, after putting his foot on my mouth, licking my hole, and…” Buck laughs and puts a hand on Eddie’s mouth to silence him.
“Shut up.” He kisses him again, sitting on Eddie’s lap one more time. “I love you.”
“I love you too, Buck.” They kiss again and then go to take a shower together so they can go to bed. Naked, obviously. Buck wants to be able to see Eddie’s body all the time and vice versa, there’s no need for clothes when they are together. They keep teasing each other even when they are walking to the bathroom, as Eddie feels Buck’s load dripping down his leg.
The next morning, Buck and Eddie arrive at the fire station at the same time: they didn’t even think about the consequences of that simple action, especially since Buck has the same clothes he wore yesterday. The entire squad looks at them, and they are all smiling.
“What happened?” Buck asks, with the LAFD bag on his shoulder. Then he realizes. Fuck.
“You could at least change your clothes, Buck.” Hen laughs. She’s keeping the money.

The Day He Was Waiting For (e.b.)
Tumblr media
Summary: it’s the best day of bucks’s life.
AN: i love 911, it literally has taken over my entire life, the spin off included and Buck owns my heart. i’m not expecting this to blow up but i needed to share my love for Evan Buckley. and thanks to Vanderpump Rules, i’m in dream wedding mode so forgive me.
Buck stood in front of the mirror in his room, straightening out the fancy suit he was wearing.
“Well don’t you look spiffy.” Eddie said entering the room. Buck chuckled lightly as he adjusted the tie. “How do I look?” He asked his best friend.
Eddie smiled happily before replying. “You look real handsome. Never thought I’d see you in a suit like this.” He answered. “Today’s the day. How do you feel?” Eddie added. “I’m ready for the rest of my life to start.” Buck replied.
“And that’s about to happen in ten minutes.” Eddie said. “Buck, are you ready?” Maddie asked before she got a good look at her little brother. Tears began to well in her eyes as she looked at Buck. “Maddie, don’t. Don’t cry yet, the wedding hasn’t even started.” He said. “I’m sorry, it’s just my baby brother is getting married.” She replied, going to hug Buck.
“Guys, Buck has to be standing at the alter in less than five minutes or Y/N is going to lose it.” Eddie interrupted. Buck let out a short breath as he finalized his appearance.
Maddie left the room, Buck and Eddie following behind.
Chimney, Bobby and Hen were already sitting in their seats at the venue when Buck walked up towards the alter. “Never thought I’d see the day where Buck was getting married.” Chim joked. “But if he were to marry anyone it would be Y/N.” Hen added.
“You need to be standing at the alter. Y/N is ready to go behind those doors.”  Maddie interjected.
Buck’s heart began to race as he took his place at the front of the room. He never imagined he would be getting married at 28 but there he was. Standing in a fancy suit, in front of all the people he cared about who loved the two of you.
On the other side of the doors, you were pacing slightly as you waited for your bouquet. Maddie had it in a vase for you so the flowers wouldn’t wilt just yet.
“Why are you pacing? Are you gonna run?” Your friend and maid of honor asked you. “No, I’m not going to run. I’m just nervous but the good kind of nervous. Maddie is getting the bouquet.” You answered. “Here it is! I have it!” Maddie called, handing you your bouquet. You took it gratefully as your maid of honor was fixing your veil and you were smoothing out your dress.
“Are you ready?” Maddie asked. “Oh I’ve been ready.” You said with a small laugh. Before you could even take a step towards the wooden doors, Eddie comes through panting. “What the hell is going on?” You asked. “Your uncle and Buck’s uncle are uh, sparring.” Eddie answered.
You saw Buck and Bobby trying to pull the two grown men from each other You clenched your jaw and pushed Eddie out of the way before stomping down the aisle towards your fighting relatives.
“Okay, stop!” You yelled. “This is supposed to be a wedding. My wedding. And I don’t want you two fighting over your difference in football teams at my wedding. So if there is one more punch thrown before this ceremony even starts, I will have you arrested. Our officiate is a cop after all.” You ranted.
The room fell silent as you let out a frustrated sigh. You looked over at Buck and saw that his hand was over his eyes so he wouldn’t see you in your wedding dress. “Buck, why are you covering your eyes?” You asked. “It’s bad luck to see the bride before the wedding with our track record of disastrous events, I’m not taking any chances.” He explained.
People began to chuckle as you smiled to yourself. “Well then I don’t want to keep you waiting.” You spoke.
After you regrouped and everyone was calm and collected, the music played and everyone stood up. The doors opened and you and Bobby walked down the aisle.
Bobby was giving you away because he was like family for as long as you’ve known him and sadly, your dad passed away during 9/11. Ever since you brought Buck home to meet your mother, she always thought that your dad helped whatever higher power there was, to put the two of your together.
Buck saw you and he felt like the whole world stopped spinning. No matter how cliche it sounds, it was like everyone watching just disappeared and it was just you and him.
He cleared his throat and told himself not to cry because of his pride. But then he thought screw his pride, and let a couple of stray tears fall.
You hugged Bobby when you got to the alter and handed Maddie your bouquet. She was your maid of honor because you didn’t have sisters and Maddie was always closest to you.
The ceremony went as usual until it came for the two of you to read your vows. Buck went first and pulled a piece of paper out of his jacket pocket.
“Y/N, when I met you, you were just the girl I had a crush on. The funny, beautiful, independent but stubborn girl. My mom always told me that the one was going to find me unexpectedly. And you were definitely unexpected. But in the best way possible. You changed my life and made me believe in love again. When I look at you, I see my future. I see us in a house in the suburbs with the dog you’ve always wanted. I see you being the mother of my children and I see us spending the rest of our lives together. We’ve been through hell and back and we ended up here. Because we were supposed to end up here. I love you, Y/F/N Y/L/N and I can’t wait until we have the same last name.” Buck finished.
You were trying your best not to smear your makeup because you still had pictures to take after the ceremony.
“I had a hole in my heart for 18 years. A missing piece that I thought would always be there. I didn’t smile the same, laugh the same, act the same. But then I met you, Buck and you changed everything. You make me happy in a way no one else can. You’re the reason why I’m smiling again. And the best part is, you don’t even have to try to make me smile. You do that by simply loving me. My mom always said that my dad was helping whatever higher power there is and drove us together. He would want me to be with a firefighter,” You started. People chuckling at your comments about your dad.
“Evan Buckley you are my moon, my stars and everything in between and I will spend the rest of my life loving you.” You finished.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the place after the two of exchanges vows.
Buck looked at you as you smiled and was just hoping that the officiator would hurry up so he could kiss you.
“Can I kiss her yet?” Buck asked. Everyone laughed at his question, you included. “Not yet. We’re getting there.” Athena said.
Athena was officiating your wedding because you and Buck shared her in common when you started dating. You were a doctor at the hospital and ran into both of them numerous times. It was only a matter of time before you did something about it.
“Now, Do you Evan Buckley, take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and woe, for richer or poorer keeping yourself unto her for as long as you both shall live?” She continued. “I do.” Buck answered.
“Do you Y/F/N Y/L/N, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and woe, for richer or poorer keeping yourself unto him for as long as you both shall live?” Athena asked you. “I do.” You answered.
“The rings please.” Athena asked.
Maddie stepped forward and handed you Buck’s ring while Eddie handed Buck your wedding band.
“Now Buck, repeat after me: With this ring, I thee wed, and pledge you my love, now and forever. ” Athena said. “Y/N, with this ring I thee wed, and pledge my love now and forever.” Buck repeated as he slid the ring on your finger. “Y/N, repeat after me: Evan, with this ring I thee wed, and pledge my love now and forever.” She said.
You repeated his words and slid the silver ring on Buck’s finger. “By the power vested in me by the State of California, I now pronounce you Husband and Wife. You may now kiss the bride!” Athena finished.
“About damn time.” Buck commented before kissing you deeply. The guests cheered and applauded as you and Buck sealed your marriage.
When the two of you parted, he took your hand and the two of you walked back down the aisle. Ready to start the rest of your lives together.
