This is what I did for my Middle Egyptian practice today. If there are any ghosts of 18th dynasty Ancient Egyptians on tumblr then I hope they find this to be a funny meme.

(I might have gotten something wrong here since I’m still learning the language, but this was very fun to make, especially since already I knew how to spell all the words in it except for the names.)
Translation:
Says I: “May we get gods?”
Says the King of Upper and Lower Egypt Neferkheperura Akhenaten: “There is god at home.”
This god which is at home:

MikaYuu Week 2023 Day 5: Modern AU/Museum Visit
As Yuu stared at the painting, a strange sense of melancholy washed over him. But it turned to shock when, glancing away, he saw art come to life standing beside him.

The 'Golden Throne' of Tutankhamun
The luxurious armchair is distinguished by the complexity of its technique and an abundance of details.
Its colors have not faded over three thousand years, which serves as a testament to the high skill of the ancient Egyptian craftsmen.
The royal throne is made of wood, covered with gold and silver. It is ornamented with semi-precious stones and colored glass.
Two projecting lions’ heads protect the seat of the throne while the arms take the form of winged uraei or rearing cobras wearing the double crown of Egypt and guarding the cartouche names of the king.
The throne is called (Ist) in Egyptian hieroglyphs after the name of the mother goddess Isis, who was usually depicted bearing a throne on her head as her characteristic emblem.
The golden throne was discovered in 1922 by the British archaeologist Howard Carter (1874-1939).
It was found beneath a hippopotamus funerary bed in the antechamber of the Tomb of Tutankhamun (1341-1323 BC), New Kingdom, late 18th Dynasty; Valley of the Kings, Luxor, Egypt.
The throne was meant not only the link between the worlds of Gods and the people, but also majesty, stability, safety, and balance.
Since kings were considered Gods on earth, it may not be difficult to imagine Tutankhamun imposing his divine will over the rest of mortals while sitting on this golden throne.
On the back of the throne, it depicts Queen Ankhesenamun holds a salve-cup and spreads perfumed oil on her husband’s collar in a typical Amarna style scene; sun disc Aten shines above royal couple.
At the time it was made, their names were Tutankhaten and Ankhespaaten.
The scene shows one of the most famous and intimate scenes in art history: the young king appears sitting and being regaled with an ointment by his wife Ankhesenamun.
The king wears a composite crown and a broad collar, while the queen wears a diadem.
The bodies and wigs of both of them are inlaid with exquisite colored glass and their linen robes are silver.

The so-called Golden City of the Aten (original name Tjehen-Aten 'Shining Aten'). One of the latest discoveries on the West Bank of Luxor. It seems to be a town associated with the palace of Malqata, the end of the reign of Amenhotep III and the beginning of the reign of Amenhotep IV (Akhenaten). Anyway, more pics shortly as I actually got to explore it later in the day. :)

aten, the sun god (asteroid 2062)
Tumblr media
Aton, sometimes written as Aten was a sun god. Most notably, the Pharaoh Akhenaten re-centered religion around Aton by claiming that Aton was the only god. Akhenaten built a whole city to serve as a worship epicenter for Aton. It is on Akhenaten's tomb that a hymn to Aton was written claiming that Aton is all powerful and the creator / sole god that he would follow into the underworld. IN MY OPINION Aten in your chart can represent a) where there is warmth in your life, b) where you have loyalty from an important individual, and/or c) where you receive a lot of devotion from an individual for simply existing.
Tumblr media
i encourage you to look into the aspects of aten along with the sign, degree, and house placement. for the more advanced astrologers, take a look at the persona chart of aten AND/OR add the other characters involved to see how they support or impede aten!
OTHER RELATED ASTEROIDS: akhenaten (326290)!

MY ORIGINAL CHARACTERS!! and some pieces of lore if you want to know what's going on…
people in their region (inspired by our south regions like Africa, South America and Australia) consider abilities to be manifestations of divine power and, although they respect such individuals, they fear them and believe that they have no place among ordinary people, so they drive them out of their settlements so that they can fulfill their duty — to protect ordinary people. our main character, Addy, also turned out to be a girl with abilities — she was blessed with the power of the vampire Adze. although she did nothing wrong, she was sent to supposedly protect their world. but she decided to travel the continent in search of herself and other people, to prove that she is also human and abilities do not take away her humanity.
Yara is her first friend, she is really funny girl, even tho in sleep she sometimes TOTALLY ON ACCIDENT licks Addy's legs… anyway they are really good friends!
Xipe-Totec is some kind of a villain, but she is actually nice, just really misunderstood. she is gonna have really sad story, while also acting as silly one. anyway, she tries her best!
there is also a girl named Nyikang, but i'm still working on her design… all i can tell you for now is that she is kinda mean, but she'll do everything to protect people around her…
the last one is Akhnaten, DJ girl, who makes «divine» rhytms by using the power of divine solar disk Aten.

Reading the Hermetica: CH XVIII
For this week’s Reading the Hermetica discussion, we’re continuing our reading and discussion of the Corpus Hermeticum (CH), specifically Book 18 (CH XVIII).  This text is entitled “On the soul hindered by the body’s affections”.  As ever, if you don’t have a copy of Copenhaver’s Hermetica, Salaman’s Way of Hermes, or Festugière/Nock’s Hermès Trismégiste (and I strongly urge you get at least one…

Flag of Atenist Egypt
Tumblr media
This is the flag of an Egypt where worship of the Aten managed to survive.  This is because Akhenaten, in our world known as the Heretic Pharaoh, went about his reforms in a bit more subtle way.  Instead of one god replacing many gods, Akhenaten created a belief system not unlike Zoroastrianism, Hinduism or Platonic Philosophy.  It is believed that above all is Aten, but he is complex and difficult to known in his highest form.  Therefore, to make himself known, Aten has sent out emanations of himself that were thought of as the gods of Egyptian Mythology.  The pharaoh is said to be able to commune directly with Aten and hold a special place in the new religion.
The desire to spread the word of Aten to all corners of the globe lead Egypt to focus on expansion.  Even in the present day, thought their empire had since shrunken, they remain a major player of the world stage.  Their closest ally is Greece, whose religion is based around the veneration of the Agathon and is largely based around the writings of Plato and Aristotle.  In the past Egypt went through bouts of religious fanaticism, but today it is largely a secular society, those Atenism is still followed by most of the population.  The survival of Atenism meant that the Abrahamic Faiths never happened, so the geopolitical and cultural situation is quite different from out world.
The black stands for the black fertile soil of the Nile River.  Black has been considered a symbol of good fortune ever since ancient times in Egypt.  The gold sun in the center of the flag is of course Aten itself.
