❔ c:
my god your writing and muses are so gorgeous there's just so many i'm going to cap at neverafter at first so i don't write 10 novels but i have more i -
SNOW WHITE & ELODY. spoilers for dimension20's series neverafter to follow. ok, is this one of my fav d20 series? yes. will i roleplay litchrally anyone from it? yes. i would love to explore the dynamic of elody, abandoned by gerard, being approached by these princesses and their plot to 'retake their lives,' in a sense. i think snow white uniquely would be interesting to run up against her in parallels of abandonment, both perceived and actual. bulletpoint plot/thread ideas below:
the initial recruitment as a thread plotline; this could serve as a great opener to introduce our characters to one another, as well as establish a precursor for how it all happened. would love to explore elody's reaction to the first 'story' in which the tpk happened unravelling as well.
battle threads with the faeries, please.
the fallout from meeting gerard & co., especially considering the lore bomb gerard dropped on elody's head before peacing out into the snow with the rest of them. her hair is eevryWHERE ~~
post-neverafter resolutions. what do their lives look like? how did they rewrite their stories? is it everything they end up dreaming about?
YLFA & GERARD. spoilers for dimension20's series neverafter to follow. let's explore the (unwilling) transformation of two people into animals and the long-lasting effects that has on them. bonus points for contrasts of their reactions and/or levels of acceptance. bonus bonus points for the spicy underlying theme of humanity and pieces of themselves slipping away. bulletpoint plot/thread ideas below:
please let them have the classic late-night keeping-watch private chat where they discuss how it felt to die.
ylfa subconsciously encouraging gerard to dissect his marriage because she's got a crush on 'nocchi and asks gerard, a certified Wife Man(tm), relationship advice. and where his went wrong. HEE HEE.
gerard teaches ylfa sword forms. they go horribly wrong.
goes without saying, but post-neverafter resolutions pt2. i'd also love to explore an AU where things DON'T get the happily-ever-after written ending and they're more or less 'doomed' to stay as ''''animals''' forever. i'd love to see how they react to that.
'QT PLAYS DEALER'S CHOICE NEVERAFTER CHARACTER HERE' & GERARD/ELODY. no but literally this is just a free space where if there's someone i haven't listed (pib, nocchi, minor characters, villains, the faeries) that you'd love to see against gerard or elody, i GOTCHU FAM
BONUS ROUND FEAT. SPUR OF THE MOMENT THREAD IDEAS:
meera reed confronts theon greyjoy for the deaths of two innocent boys following her return to winterfell (obviously would fall into the grey space between book & show canon).
an exploration into how rue and wuvvy came to be: their partnership, their devotion, just love em. LOVE EM.
red makes a bargain with drisella, in an almost direct juxtaposition to cinderella and her faerie godmother. [red vc] i aint work for Free
how to con henri out of his immense wealth while also not dying hideously in the process feat. mercy
send ❔ and i’ll list a couple muses that i’d like to throw at yours (feat: plot bunnies) for @ateliaers.

where you’re going , no one will ever see you again. ⸻ @ateliaers ❲ henri ❳
↪ 𝑖𝑡'𝑠 ᵗʰᵉ 𝔩𝔞𝔰𝔱 𝑴𝑰𝑫𝑵𝑰𝑮𝑯𝑻 .
it was a one night stay within the manor of de rais . too late to catch the train & too far to take the carriage back to the motherland . one stay would be wise & off he would go as the dawn breaks across the lands . henri was kind enough to offer his home to him so late , hours they talked about their businesses & their lives : vissarion barely opened up under herni's gaze he would turn away , smiling . unnerved yet ... intrigued . every word the man said was double edged in bloss & unlayering poison . he knew that act well enough to feign ignorance to it , but it was still quite charming . perhaps it's the accent he has ... that was what made him lean a little closer , inching his way towards the other . perhaps it was just vissarion getting closer to listen better ...
ah . he must tired , right ? tiredness must have caught up to him that night : sleepness is the devils friend , alongside the idle hands at his side as they spoke that itched to move . but his hands remained still . frozen in his partners gaze & latched to the chairs arm rest , barely a finger moving as he used it to center herself to the room . of course he had to have noticed that . claim that in russia one does not fidget when they talk ⸻ or some other white lie to pass away blame to the reason of the slight discomfort ( or . rather allude to it not actually being discomfort but proper edicate ? he'll think of something that sounds plausible enough if pressed upon it next . )
what is he after ... playing naive leads to a lack of knowledge & that will simply not do . is it simply business that the man desires out of him ? vissarion thinks not : something ... this beasts hungers for something ... he has the gleam some men with red ascots such as he has in st. petersburg but to throw out such an allegation would be death . more so if vis is wrong & this man with an small army of lost loves simply seeks companionship with someone who has felt the kiss of death too many times in his bedroom chamber . what a death that would be .
so vissarion slumbered lightly that night , a lullaby playing in his head : ( bayu bayushki bayu , don’t lie by the corner or a grey wolf will come & grab you by your side , he will grab you by the side , & drag you to the forest ... ) he slept firmly in the center of the guest bed ... windows locked tightly & an eye on the door . vis must have been thinking of his daughter , yes. of course , he would hum that lullaby to her when she got fussy ... he must get home to her soon. enough .
❝ ⸻ to the train , господин ⸺ ah , monsieur . ❞ he cleared his throat of the russian that came out . ❝ i must catch the train , it's an hour carriage ride to the station to get back to st. petersburg . ❞ he smiles , sickenly sweet to henri as he turns back from collecting his things ( a small notebook , a checkbook , pencil & a few other miscellaneous items ) no one will ever see you again ... ah , fearful vissarion will never return again ? how touching .
❝ ... perhaps , i could stay another night , if you fear you & all of this kingdom would never see me again but i assure you i will not simply vanish , henri ... not after such enticing conversation . ❞ one night would not be a crime . one day delay on travel ... besides , maybe he could figure out that look in his eye & why he would phrase ' id miss you ' in such a vile way . aren't you supposed to be charming like your letters alluded to ? you're failing , de rais .

odette cares little what odile reads. from her spot in the window, caged in on all sides by stone walls and the rules of her father, odette sees something kindred in her. even if she would never say such a thing. von rothbart is not a kind man, not a good man. though there is little to go off of in such regards, odette could not imagine him being very different in temperament to his daughter than he is to the swan maidens he creates and abandons in equal measure. odile holds the book like one might hold a love. perhaps it is.
her home. what a place to call home. odette turns from odile to look to the manor. it looms over the lake, large and dark and terribly silent. there are people within, odette knows ; unspeaking servants who stare at the lake with eyes that seem to say they would rather be a swan. the swans look at them with the same hunger for a different tragedy. there is no winning here. there is no room for joy or hope either within those walls or in the shadow they cast. odette scarcely reacts to the idea that odile has the right to frighten the swan maidens. there's no use in it, for odile is right. this is her home, and she is the daughter of the maidens' jailer. they are not home here, merely trapped, leashed by returning night after night to walk upon feet once more. von rothbart likes when they are frightened. perhaps he would not mind his daughter lingering by the water if she was tormenting the others.
"i know he is gone." odette says softly when odile catches her tongue from confessing his absence. "we saw him go." one of the others had and had reported it. they all breathed a little easier when he was gone. the others sometimes even laughed with each other, played little games of giving chase or hiding and finding each other among the trees. the more recent kept weeping, the middling danced and feigned joy, and odette remained unchanged. she wonders, distantly, if the others are playing now, their odd little games. "he does not try to hide his coming and going from us, so there is no need for you to." sometimes he waves as he goes, if they are swans upon the lake, a look in his eye odette would no longer call cruel. there is no word to replace it, but cruel is too - - - it is not right, somehow.
the way her head tips slightly at the questions is both graceful and birdlike. she has been a swan for so long that even when she has shed wings and feathers it still seems to cling to her. a second skin. a second self. "the newer maidens feel the cold. i do not. not anymore." odette has found she feels very little. it is frightening, if she lingers upon it too long. like she has lost some shred of humanity somewhere along the way. how long as she been this way? time has become lost to her. years, no doubt, but how many? a decade? more?
her eyes are distant and odette looks at odile. the young woman seems to find it hard to look upon odette, but it is not an issue returned. if anything odette looks a little too intently, curious in her guarded way. "we do. if we speak to each other, there is someone to remember our name, and a reason to remember our own." it is the easiest way to put the odd kinship and sisterhood there is inherent to being like them. odette is separate from them in some ways, but she is still one of them. "would you like to know mine?"
it is hateful, odile thinks in the silence that stretches between them, how beautiful the maiden is. she supposes her father had a thought just like it, once upon a time, but where he seemed unable to bear a life without looking at her, even if only in the dark, she is, as ever, his opposite ; her eyes dance away, looking through & past her, as if the maiden, in all her moon – soaked glory, is a painful sight to see.
from the corner of her eyes, dark with discomfort, she watches as the swan bends, & lays gentle hands upon the book, & something fearful twists in the pit of her stomach. she has taken books from her father’s library for years now, carried them about the manor & its grounds, & pored over them relentlessly, devouring every word, a faithful student of the magic pressed between pages. no hand, other than her own, has brushed against their covers since … well, who knows since when. she wonders, for a terrible moment, if the maiden will split the spine, & gaze upon the words within, & reveal herself capable of magic herself ; her father always did like them, in his words, exceptional. she starts, hands raising as she prepares to snatch the book away, only to find that the maiden has met her halfway, proffering the book without so much as a glance at what it contains. again, she freezes, & for a moment, her teeth grind, before she pulls the book from the other’s hand, & cradles it against her chest.
❛ thank you, ❜ comes the begrudging response, & thank goodness the maiden works to fill the silence between them, as already, she has come up short. it is, however, a strange thing, to hear her speak, soft & sweet as her voice is. what was she expecting ? the cadence of the birds, all honks & chirps ? her own words come in a voice deep & loud, too loud for the quiet of the night ; no wonder the other swans have fled from her.
❛ this is my home. i can frighten whoever i want, ❜ it’s not meant to be a boast, but it sounds much more petulant than intended once it moves from brain to tongue to air, a childish proclamation she immediately regrets. ❛ my father isn’t even … ❜ & a pause, a flash of realization that telling the assumed leader of his lonely flock that their captor has been gone for the best part of a week now is perhaps not the best course of action to take. she bites off the end of the sentence, swallows it down, & tries again. ❛ what he would or wouldn’t like is none of your concern. ❜ the maiden is right, of course ; she has been forbidden to walk beside the lake after dark for as long as she can remember. still, who will tell, when he inevitably returns with a new addition to his collection ? the servants, magically compelled to silence ? the swan maidens, who flee at the sight of him ? she casts her eyes around for them once more, & sees nothing, no – one.
she almost asks, still, for the maiden to stay silent about their meeting, accidental as it was, when she’s told — told ! by a woman who spends most of her time as a swan, of all people ! — to retreat back to the manor, & her jaw sets in annoyance, dark eyes flashing. it would not be so irritating, she thinks, if it weren’t for the fact that the maiden is correct. beneath the sleeves of the gown which once belonged to her mother, twenty years out of fashion & altered endlessly to fit, the skin of her arms begins to pimple ; it won’t be long before she shivers, before her teeth begin to chatter, & conversation is rendered impossible.
❛ i’m fine, thank you, ❜ she says, clutching the book closer to her chest, attempting to bury her hands in the crooks of her elbows at the same time. she could taunt her, she realizes, about how at least she has a home to return to, how a roaring fire is sure to wait for her, a bath filled with warmed water & scented petals, a fine bed to lay in until dawn, but, in a moment of uncharacteristic charity, she holds her tongue.
as irritating as the maiden is, odile has been curious about her, & her sisters, for as long as she can remember, & she may never get an opportunity like this again.
❛ don’t you & the others get cold ? ❜ she asks, trying to cast an appraising eye over the swan’s gown without looking directly at her. ❛ i see you out here in the winter, still, when the snows are knee – deep. you’re all so … strange, the way you gather out here. do you have names, still ? ❜

Can I nominate Atelia and the grand master from an amazing but obscure anime titled Tweeny Witches?
Radical New Idea:
A female character who is a cold, relentless leader, always pragmatic, and able to make whatever hard decisions need to be made in order to ensure success and survival, tremendously skilled and devastatingly efficient at her job, tragically terrible at being overtly nice to people, who is also not evil and is still fundamentally a good person.

This is Atelia, a doe, leader of the defense group for members of the central family (the Heads of the bands)
Sorry I'm not very good at drawing faces yet :v
Ps: The eyes of all beings (with the exception of humans and common animals) can change color, turning the normally white part a black tinge, and enhancing the color of the iris to something more vivid. This happens when a strong (usually negative) emotion is felt. This is considered a danger signal to others. Atelia always has her eyes in that state.

Decades before The Owl House, Tweeny Witches started with a girl named Arusu who didn't belong back in the Human Realm stumbling across a world full of witches and strange creatures when she's just trying to get back a treasured book of hers. Her father, Jidan, gifted the book for her 5th birthday before his mysterious disappearance, which inspired her enthusiasm for magic.
Upon arriving to the Magical Realm, Arusu releases all the captive fairies back to the wild. This impulsive act of compassion brings chaos to witch society that values tradition and magical power above everything else.
Eva takes Arusu in to live with her in a bizarre, living house named Dragon House along with Sheila, an icy cynic with a hidden heart of gold, even before Atelia uses her authority as one of the Three Sages for Arusu to live as an apprentice witch in a surprising moment of generosity. Throughout the first half of the series, Arusu and Sheila butts heads with each other over conflicting ideologies.
(Spoilers ahead!)
The series takes a darker turn when the warlocks attack the Witch Realm looking for each of the 100 fairy species and the True Book of Spells to cast the forbidden dark magic. The person behind Arusu's visions of a masked figure is revealed to be Lennon, a blond teenage pirate witch with a dark secret. Arusu and her friends slowly uncover mysteries, including but not limited to her father's history, before the power of friendship wins in the finale.
Despite the limitations of 10 minutes per episode, the series manages to treat its story, characters, themes, and lore far better than The Owl House does in "Watching and Dreaming".
It's a hidden gem of anime with unique, delightful aesthetics incorporating tropes from shōnen manga into a big homage to Through the Looking-Glass - Arusu compares her name to Alice's and recalls her mother reading the book to her at one point.
Now that the owl house is over I can definitely say that the parallels between it and little witch academia are staggering. Luz and Akko are practically the same character, and so are Diana and Amity (and their relationship to the protag). I feel like though little witch academia did the themes it was going for a lot better than the owl house.

a kiss after one muse has killed for the other / for snow, from ella 🥺
HER SPIRIT IS RAGING, but her body is weak. Snow White does not belong on the frontlines. Isn’t on the frontlines, normally, but this is a special case. It’s just her and Ella, you see — ambushed, surrounded by the twisted, reverse-therianthropic thralls that Ella’s godmother ceaselessly throws their way.
This is Snow’s fault. She sent her dwarves off scouting much farther from them than she should have. They lower the temperature, see, the more of them there are. Undeath has a way of smothering out the warm. She can’t — won’t — put Ella through that unless absolutely necessary. Doesn’t regret her mistake, either, not even as hideously deformed snake-turned-man brings down an axe-blade that gleams in the mid-morning sun.
Snow White hitches in a breath she’ll never take. Then there’s a glint, and rush of air, and something invisible bashes into the snake-man with enough force to shatter its skull in two. Blood sprays; Snow White tastes iron, and refocuses. The space before her shimmers like a mirage. Ella takes off her helmet, locks spilling over armor no one can see, and Snow’s lips spread in a smile.
Her knight in translucent armor.
Movement off to Ella’s left. Snow’s smile turns to ash as she flicks a wrist in that direction. Magic erupts in a strange mixture of black nothingness outlined by scintillating, grayish white. What’s left of the snake-man’s corpse shudders into motion as it turns, animated by Snow’s magic, and clashes with the remainder of its comrades. In the end there are no survivors, save Ella. Save Snow.
She feels Ella’s touch before she sees it. The armor gets less and less effective the more time you spend near it — the more time Ella fights in it. Blood stains an otherwise blank canvas, giving shape to what wasn’t there before. It suits her, Snow thinks, as Ella places a gauntleted fist against the side of her jaw and tilts her head up to see. Frost patterns its way across glass. Adoring. Hungry.
Ella’s gaze falls to Snow’s lips. Strange. She could swear there is nothing in her chest — hasn’t been, time upon a time upon a time — and yet. Here it rattles, a hundred metal butterflies swarming the fire in Ella’s eyes. Snow doesn’t realize it, but her own fingers lift. They reach out, searching, and slide gently up the pauldrons of Ella’s armor. “Not mine,” she whispers. “You came in time. You’re always there in time.”
Because that’s what this is about, isn’t it? The blood on her lips. On the side of her face. Dripping down the curve of her neck. Foolish girl. Ella’s just checking to see if she’s injured. Not mine. Not mine, not
Cinderella’s face dips. It’s slow and soft and gives Snow plenty of time to move, should she wish it. Angle her cheek, look away. She thinks she should. She knows she should. But she doesn’t want to, and it’s been so long since she’s been selfish (has it?), and somewhere hidden in the darkest of darknesses, there’s a spark of light. A flicker of hope.
— true love’s kiss —
They meet, then: ash-lips on snow-skin. The heat is immediate and Snow is helpless to resist, even though she knows how her touch must burn with cold. One of her hands moves to grasp at the nape of Ella’s neck. Her eyes close and her mouth parts to drink in Ella’s breath. Gods, she’s intoxicating. Snow can’t think; there’s too much feeling. Too late she remembers the cold of her skin. How she is all take, and she has no give.
“Ella — ” A gasp. A plea. Pull away. I don’t want to hurt you. Please.
Spell broken, magic rent. Just as the faeries always said. In this moment, Snow White’s curse is lifted, and she is alive.
give me kisses feat. @ateliaers

Shared Learning Experiences Inspiring Stories from the Global Classroom
Launched in March 2022, the EtonHouse Global Classroom is a platform to connect and encourage borderless collaboration between EtonHouse schools worldwide. As an international education group with more than 120 schools across 11 countries, our goal is to explore international cooperation to celebrate lifelong learning, enrich learning experiences and forge international mindedness in our children and educators through projects on a global scale.
Our first tie-up started with a Park Atelier project between EtonHouse International Schools in Singapore and Salvador Allende Infant-Toddler Centre and Pre-School in Italy. Inspired by the project, our children set out to find meaningful connections and opportunities, which led to the unfolding of possibilities in the campus’ back garden. The success and possibilities spurred us on further collaborations between EtonHouse International School Claymore in Singapore and EtonHouse International School Suzhou in China. This led to the birth of a collaborative inquiry, A Journey in Time.
What inspired the exploration of "Time”?
Atelia: The Claymore and Suzhou teams came together in a beautiful collaboration around shared interests that we had observed among our children. A common theme of construction and the differences between Suzhou and Singapore emerged. With Suzhou being a historically rich city and Singapore being a modern and young city, the concept of time, the changes and the stories that develop in these two places over time came to the forefront. In order to give the children a powerful voice in the project, we decided to include an opportunity for them to imagine and create what they think will happen in these two culturally diverse cities in the future.
Allen: I like the concept of time because the history of humankind can be viewed as the history of time. It is also very interesting and meaningful to discuss and inquire about bridges. There are so many stories behind each bridge. To some degree, stories mean history. And through history, we can find culture. I would like the opportunity to learn more about the Claymore campus and greatly look forward to our continued collaboration.
What are some difficulties faced during the project, and how did you overcome them?
At the beginning of the project, schools in China were closed to the epidemic. However, they remained in touch with teachers and students in Singapore, using network resources to engage in online exploration and share their progress.
Ann: Our circumstances affected parents’ and children’s involvement and limited our resources. Since we could not meet and inquire physically, we had to find different ways to explore. It was a challenge and an opportunity for us to engage children by getting them to carry out scientific experiments at home, making the exploration smoother. Through online meetings, children then discuss their findings with each other. In the process of this project, we encountered some difficulty finding the next direction to take with the project. However, through our weekly meetings, we were able to discuss freely and give suggestions to find the next direction.
Jessica: Throughout the pandemic, we conducted various home-based learning and experienced several trials and tribulations. As adults, we often find that we can communicate easily. However, it can be a challenge for us too. I feel that throughout this collaboration, Suzhou and Claymore worked well together to find different ways to communicate to strengthen our partnership and pave the way for other EtonHouse schools to cross over the technology bridge and work together positively and collaboratively.
Atelia: We challenged ourselves to collaboratively come up with solutions despite being far apart from each other and overcome limitations such as social distancing. Through regular collaborative meetings between Suzhou and Singapore and sharing with the children creations, voices, videos, photos and ideas, we supported each other and successfully overcame these challenges.
Fiona: It is important to personally put what you learn into practice and test various theories. To truly understand the bridges and culture in Suzhou, you need to immerse and interact with the environment. As an active participant in the project, I headed outdoors to research, made a video about the surroundings, and shared it with all the teachers and children in Singapore. I hope they can see the bridges in Suzhou and learn more about its culture through my camera lens. I hope this cultivates a deeper interest and curiosity in learning about Suzhou’s culture.
What did you and the children who are involved gain from the project?
Hanna: I think that as educators, we should always consider the effect of every learning experience on children and listen to their thoughts and opinions. For example, some boys are thinking about how to destroy a bridge with their favourite superhero Ultraman. That doesn’t mean they want to create havoc; they are showing their creative thinking. They might wonder whether the bridge is strong and want to test it. In their mind, they could be asking themselves: “Could my thumb destroy the bridge?” When you listen to their thoughts, you will get to know them much better.
Jessica: I was intrigued by how the children understand the concept of past, present and future. We had multiple conversations and group discussions as this can be a difficult concept to grasp. It was also wonderful to see our children connecting with the children in Suzhou through different modes of communication - answering, asking questions, responding and reacting to their photographs and drawings. As an educator, it is always interesting to see children from other campuses and countries, have insights into their interests and find ways to connect with the ideas, thoughts and feelings of the children in our community.
Lucille: The educators in Singapore are very enthusiastic, energetic and full of positive energy, which impressed me deeply. I also learned a lot from this project through our cooperation and communication, especially since we did this during the epidemic. We also thought about how we can encourage and guide our children and parents to join in the project in meaningful ways.
The Hundred Languages
Children have one hundred ways to express their views and thoughts.
Stella: As the coordinator of this project, I am very grateful to the educators for their hard work, who faced up to the challenges of the epidemic with limited resources and jointly promoted exploration and exchanging of experiences in Singapore and Suzhou. Now that the children have returned to school, I believe that the rich school environment and social practice activities will also stimulate children’s enthusiasm for exploration.
