# HOW BATBOYS REACT TO YOU WEARING THEY'RE COLOR ── .✦ ( eg. nails, clothes, anything ⋆౨ৎ˚⟡˖ )
a/n: so I first did a small idea of this (here) and then I thought why not do it based off this anon (here) so yeahh, anyways I kinda fell so off course like genuinely I need to make more batboys content, tags: (batboys x reader)

DICK GRAYSON ── .✦
Dick notices instantly. He’s hyper-aware of the blue.
“Wait, are those nails painted Nightwing blue? Babe, did you do that for me?” Cue the biggest grin you’ve ever seen.
Compliments you non-stop. He’s not subtle about how much he loves it.
“You’re really pulling off my color, you know. Almost makes me think you’re trying to steal my spotlight.”
Gets extra touchy holding your hand, brushing your hair back, etc. “You’re so cute I can’t even deal right now.”, “It’s just blue and black colored nails dick.”
If it’s a clothing piece, he’ll joke, “Matching outfits for day? Say the word, and we’ll be Gotham’s most fashionable duo.”
JASON TODD ── .✦
Jason notices but plays it cool at first. “Nice color choice,” he says casually, though he’s dying and resurrecting inside.
If it’s your nails “You’re carrying my whole brand on those hands. Should I start paying you royalties?”
If it’s clothing, “Careful, babe, wearing red this well might make you a target and you might be mistaken for me.” But his smirk shows he’s all for it.
Low-key proud you’re repping his colors but doesn’t know how to express it well. Might just stare a little longer than usual.
Ends up pulling you closer while murmuring, “You look good in my color. Too good.”
Secretly starts thinking of ways to return the gesture, like wearing something in your favorite color. (He’s hoping it’s not absurd neon colors😭)
TIM DRAKE ── .✦
Blushes immediately. He’s not even subtle about it. “Wait… is that red because of… me?”
Obsesses over the details. “Did you match your nails to the exact shade of my suit? That’s, like, the coolest thing ever.”
Super flustered but also unbelievably touched. “I didn’t know you liked my colors that much.”
If it’s a clothing item, he’d be stunned for a moment before saying, “You look so… wow. You’re killing it.”
Gets a little shy but can’t stop glancing at you all day. Ends up fiddling with your hand if it’s your nails.
Might text you later "Thanks for making my day with that. You didn’t have to, but I really, really loved it.”
DAMIAN WAYNE ── .✦
Notices instantly but acts unimpressed. “Hmph. So you’re inspired by me today?”
Low-key thrilled but refuses to let you know. If it’s your nails, he might sarcastically say, “Subtle.” But he’s secretly staring.
If it’s clothing, “Green suits you. Perhaps you should wear it more often.” It’s his way of saying you look amazing.
After some time, he’ll let his walls down. “It’s not awful… You look better in my colors than I do.”
Will absolutely brag to Alfred or the others about it later. “Clearly, they understand quality when they see it.”
Ends up gifting you something else in his colors—maybe a scarf or bracelet—just to see you wear it again.
BRUCE WAYNE ── .✦
Bruce notices immediately but doesn’t say much at first. He’ll just give you that classic Bruce Wayne smirk.
If it’s clothing, he’ll subtly comment, “You look good in black. Suits you.” (High praise from him)
If it’s nails, he’ll gently take your hand and examine them. “Interesting choice. Are you sending a message, or…?”
Deep down, he’s really touched but doesn’t know how to express it. Might make a dry joke like, “So you’re my sidekick now?”
Later, when you’re alone, he’d admit, “It’s nice seeing you in something that reminds me of… us.”
Low-key loves the idea of you wearing his colors often. He’d never say it outright, but his actions like buying you more black and yellow pieces make it clear (to a point half your dresses were either black or yellow even you’re gold jewelry has yellow hints and accents😭😭)

─── Ⅵ THIS IS, VI REFLECTS as she steps into the booming base-threaded room of the sorority house, probably not the best idea. But it’s the only one she’s got, so she might as well lean in, right? Right.
Jayce cranes up to look over the sea of people before jerking his head towards the punch table with a shrug. Vi follows him, running a hand through her freshly washed hair. She thanks whatever gods are up there that she’d remembered to bring a change of clothes to the game.
“Here,” Jayce says, pressing a red solo cup into her hands.
Vi stares at it for a second before gulping it back, grimacing around the clash of liquors and half-blended mixer as it burns its way down her throat. Almost immediately, a warmth starts to buzz behind her ears and she remembers, somewhat belatedly, that she’s had nothing to eat since having two bananas and an ancient granola bar before the game.
She shakes her limbs loose and reaches out to refill her cup, but Jayce catches her hand.
She’s about to argue when he points towards a sofa halfway across the room and Vi’s eyes follow it only to find you, sitting there with a cup of your own, laughing at something someone’s saying, and it takes Vi another second to realize that the person next to you is Margot, her bleached blond hair fading into acid green tips, her snakebite piercings glinting in the dim neon lights.
Vi’s pushing through the throng of people towards you before she can stop herself, careless of the hands that thump her on the back, the congratulatory sentences, cut off by the way she pulls way, till she’s standing feet from you, and your eyes twist up to meet hers.
The smile on your lips only falters slightly, but she doesn’t miss the way your gaze flicks down the length of her body, ticking back up to her lips, where it lingers for a beat too long before she finds your eyes with her own again.
There’s a dull, pleasant ache somewhere behind her navel as she notices how much darker your eyes are the second time around.
“Hey six,” Margot drawls, shifting back and stretching out her legs, “we were wondering when you were gonna get here. But don’t worry — I was keeping your little ice minx here company for you.”
Vi purses her lips, tries not to think too hard on the fact that your knee is so close to Margot’s leg it’s almost touching.
“Uh thanks but — can I — can I get a minute?” Vi asks, jerking her head towards the kitchen, praying to the heavens that it’s empty.
You bite down on your bottom lip, but you nod and push yourself up from the couch, glancing back at Margot with tiny smile.
“Thanks for the advice,” you say.
She smirks, “Anytime, dollface.” She wiggles her fingers and winks as she catches Vi’s eyes, and Vi makes a mental note to send her a thank you text later.
Vi leads you through the party with her hand around your wrist, but by the time you reach the door leading into the kitchen, her grip’s loosened just enough for you to slip your fingers between hers. But when she tries to open the door, she finds it locked.
“What the —”
She wiggles the door knob, wondering who on earth would want to lock the door to a sorority house kitchen, and then, a melodious voice says from the other side —
“What’s the magic word?”
You sigh, rolling your eyes.
“Mel, it’s us.”
A beat of silence later, the doorknob twists and the door slips open just a silver. Mel’s bright hazel eyes appear in the crack, her lashes limned in gold as she looks at you and then at Vi, then back at you again.
“Those aren’t the magic words,” she says, though she does open the door a few inches wider, her expression smug.
You groan, crinkling your nose before you lick your lips.
“Fine, please.”
Mel’s smile widens as the door opens and Vi steps through, pulling you along after her.
Mel’s eyebrows hitch up as she catches your free arm in her delicate hand.
You give her a soft squeeze and mouth thank you. She gives the pair of you a satisfied nod before letting you go and pressing a small key into Vi’s chest.
“Do not —”
Vi nods, “Fuck this up. Yeah… I know.”
Mel gives you both a final look before slipping from the kitchen and bringing the door closed behind her. Vi stares at it for a beat, digging her thumb into the jagged teeth of the tiny key before reaching over to lock the door behind her.
You let out a soft breath, folding your arms across your chest, your shoulder shrugging up as you suddenly remember that you’re still wearing Vi’s varsity jacket.
Vi turns around and you both speak at the same time —
“Look, I’m sorry about the —”
“I shouldn’t have walked out —”
Vi purses her lips around a burgeoning smile even as you let out a tiny laugh, shaking your head.
She waves an awkward hand as you lean back against the kitchen island. Distantly, Vi remembers the way you’d sunk down on the other side just about a month ago, how later that same night she’d hoisted you up onto the countertop and kissed you till there was no more breath in her lungs left to give.
“I… I’m sorry I freaked out like that in the locker rooms…” you say, twisting your arms tighter around yourself as Vi nods, leaning back against the closed door.
“I just saw that text come in and I thought…” you swallow.
“I know, princess… it was my fault for —” she heaves a sigh, motioning haphazardly at the air, “not cutting her off sooner.”
You let out a soft laugh, “Yeah. Mel told me that she reminded Jayce to —”
“— tell me to block her. Yeah. And he did… I just…” Vi shrugs, sheepish, “… forgot.”
Your lashes flutter as your gaze cuts away from her face.
“Wow —” you say a second later, your voice threaded through with mirth, and when Vi looks back at you, it’s to find you smiling, “we’re really kinda shit at this, aren’t we?”
Vi puffs out a laugh, letting her head knock back against the door.
“Yeah… you can say that again.”
“So…” you say, fingers worrying at the hem of your little black dress.
Vi cocks her head, her eyes caught on the movement, and suddenly, heat plumes up the back of her neck at the memory of you, with your thighs slotted on either side of hers, the feel of your soft skin beneath her palms as she’d slowly worked up the hem of that very same dress.
She takes a deep, steadying breath.
“So?” she echoes.
You’re watching her with pink lips and damson cheeks.
“So… what now?”
Vi pulls an exaggerated sort of thinking-face before pushing off the door, taking the few steps forward to put herself in your personal space. She relishes in the way you gasp, lashes fluttering as your palms come up to rest against her chest, but you don’t make to push her away.
“Well, I’m not one for a lot of foreplanning but right now… I think I’d just like a do-over from the last time we were in this position.”
“Y-yeah?” you ask, your voice barely above a whisper as she settles her hands on your hips and digs her fingers into the plush of of your ass.
“Mhm… what’dyou think, pretty girl? That a good place to start for us?”
Your answering yes is cut short by the squeak you make as Vi hoists you up to place you on the kitchen island, her nose digging into the soft spot just beneath your jaw, breathing you in till her head spins, her thumb trailing up the soft of your thigh till you’re trembling.
“V-Vi?”
Vi pulls back just far enough to catch your eyes, and from up this close, she can see the thin trails of glitter running down your cheeks, the slight redness to your lashes that tells her you’d been crying. Guilt twists like a stitch in her side, and she bites back a sigh.
“What is it?” she asks. She watches you watching her, your eyes searching hers as if you were looking for something — a question, or an answer, or perhaps just the answering truth to the lies that both of you have been trying so desperately to tell yourselves.
You swallow, tracing a thumb across the small tattoo on her cheek; and then, you smile a smile that might just rhyme with forgiveness.
“Kiss me.”
So Vi does, the kiss itself shredding the air between you until there’s nothing left but the gut-clenching friction of her lips on yours. You gasp open for her, so beautifully that Vi almost stumbles back, but instead, she tips herself forward and pours herself into your pliant mouth. You taste like honeyed bourbon and stolen midnights, like the first breath of air on a winter’s morning or maybe just the next few decades of her entire life.
She pulls away breathless, moaning thick into the skin of your neck, hissing at the sting of your fingers curled into her hair, at the sound of your hitching gasps as she inches a hand between your thighs and swears when her fingers find you slick and wanting.
“F-fuck — Vi —”
“Holy shit —” Vi presses her face into your neck, letting her fingers slip through the folds of your wet heat, desire sparking through her veins like lightning in a gathering storm. She drops to her knees, nudging yours apart with her palm, yanking you till you’re nearly slipping off the edge of the counter, but you tug at her hair with a soft whine.
“W-wait, Vi —”
“Mm, don’t wanna wait anymore, princess — wanna taste you so bad — fuck —”
“No — Vi, please —”
She pauses then, looking up to find your eyes blown dark, your lashes fluttering like hummingbird wings as you watch her with your bottom lip caught beneath your teeth.
“It’s just — I don’t want our first time to be —” you motion weakly at the sorority house kitchen, your cheeks going blotchy, “and the counter’s… kinda cold and…” you drop your hand to grip the edge of the counter “… uncomfy,” you finish, rather lamely, your voice trailing off as Vi puffs out a laugh against your inner thigh, pushing herself back up with a crooked smile.
“Mm… you really are a princess, aren’t you?” Vi teases, even as she helps you off the counter and tugs down your dress for you. You pout up at her, but she rolls her eyes, grinning.
“Right, c’mon then —” she links your fingers and unlocks the kitchen door, tugging you once more into the disorienting throng of the party.
Halfway to the door though, your limbs go cold as the pair of you run smack into Caitlyn, this time sans her new ginger girlfriend.
“Vi — good, I was hoping to run into you —” she says, her eyes flickering over you for a second before it settles back on Vi.
You swallow, wondering if you should pull away, but Vi tugs you into her side and slips a possessive arm around your waist.
“Sorry, Cait — can’t really talk right now. I’ve gotta go fuck the brains outta my girlfriend — nice seeing you though — enjoy the party, go Enforcers!” she says, grinning wide as she pulls you through the rest of the way to the door, leaving Caitlyn slack-jawed and speechless behind you.
You let out an incredulous laugh as both of you stumble out of the door and onto the front porch. Vi chuckles as the door slams shut behind her, a little self-conscious even as you turn to stare at her.
“Wow… that was…” you purse your lips as Vi shrugs, tugging you back into her chest for a soft kiss.
“Impressed?”
You giggle, nodding, moaning soft against her lips as the pair of you fumble towards Vi’s car.
“I was gonna say impulsive,” you say, slipping into the passenger’s seat. Vi starts the engine and rips out of the parking space and down the street before you even have the time to properly buckle in your seatbelt.
“Yeah. Wonder who I learned that from.”
She shoots you a cheeky grin, reaching over the center console to grab a handful of your thigh, squeezing just hard enough to make you groan.
The car’s not even properly parked before the pair of you are stumbling into her apartment building, her pressing you up against the elevator wall, lips caught on the junction of your neck, her teeth sinking into your delicate skin. She takes a savage satisfaction in the knowledge that you’ll be sporting that mark for the next five to seven business days, at least.
You’re barely through her door before she’s walking the pair of you towards her room, kicking open the door and almost toppling through. You giggle as she trips over something on her floor and fumbles for the light switch, flicking it on as light spills into her messy bedroom, the walls papered in posters — everything from bands to hockey stars to what looks like an outdated bikini-model calendar.
Your eyebrows kick up as you take in the scene, an amused grin playing at your lips
“Oh wow…” and there’s a lilt in your voice that makes Vi’s face go hot. She regrets not at least cleaning up the laundry on her bed as she shoves it off onto the floor with an arm.
“What? Not up to your standards, princess?”
You purse your lips, delicately picking your way across the room to plop down on her unmade bed.
“Y’know, I think that first frat house room might’ve been cleaner.”
“Oh, fuck you.”
Your grin goes slanted as you toe off your heels and inch back onto the bed, your legs spreading just a bit wider. Vi’s breath goes still in her chest as you lean back slightly on your arms, your head cocking slowly to one side.
“Is that a promise, six?”
Vi groans, yanking her shirt from her back with a single hand, tossing it somewhere behind her, her fingers fumbling with her belt, kicking off her pants as she crawls onto the bed towards you.
“Jesus fuckin’ christ, princess —”
Your lashes flicker as she pushes up the hem of your dress, letting out a low breath as she finally sets eyes on you, a curse puffing out of her as she reaches down to slick two fingers between the puffy lips of your sodden pussy.
You let out a soft whimper, your head lolling back, but when she lifts her head to look at you, it’s to find you watching her with dark, lidded eyes.
“I-I’ve always wondered… how’d you pick your number? Is it like… a ranking system o-or — ah — like — on a ten-point scale o-or — mmngh —”
Vi hums, watching your lashes feather across your cheek as she flicks her thumb around your throbbing clit, her blood a spring-water rush behind her ears as she feels you jerk beneath her.
“We really gotta do something about that mouth of yours, princess…” she murmurs before tugging her hand from between your legs and pressing her slick fingers to your lips. You mouth falls open just as easily as she remembers, and she has to swallow down another thick groan as you suck her fingers into your mouth, your tongue swirling around them to collect the taste of your own juices from her skin.
Your eyes flash open to meet hers, and the contact jolts right through her to her own aching cunt.
“Sweet fuck, pretty girl — I — I thought you said you’d never done this shit before?”
A tiny frown flickers across your forehead before you roll your eyes, giving her fingers a good hard suck before pulling back to lick your lips, sitting up slightly to tug her forward.
“I said I’d never really been on a date before — not that I’ve never had sex before.”
A startled breath stitches from Vi’s chest as you flip the pair of you till you’re straddling one of her muscular thighs, your own thigh pressing up between her legs to rub deliciously against her aching pussy.
She hisses out a breath as you roll your hips down over her leg, moaning low in your chest, your head falling back, the dress you’re wearing still rucked up at your waist.
“Those post-Gala parties can get… a little wild…” you say distractedly, picking up a slow rhythm, grinding down against her, your wetness slicking along her skin, making the most toe-curling noises every time you rock your hips forward and back.
Vi groans, reaching up to help you pull the dress off, her mind going fuzzy at the sight of your perfect tits, bouncing out of the tight black dress, your nipples hard and pebbling in the cool air of her room.
“F-fu-fuck that’s hot —” she says, leaning up to suck a nipple into her mouth, teasing her teeth over the sensitive flesh, grinning at the way it makes your hips stutter. She can’t help the quick little jerks of her own hips against your thigh as well, slotted along her clothed cunt, her boxers now well and soaked through.
“Vi — Vi —” you whine, the sound going straight to her clit as you rock down against her, your fingers reaching down to tug her closer.
“Y-yeah? Tell me, princess — wh-what do you want?”
She groans as you shift and your thigh presses harder against her, your own cunt squelching messily over her leg.
“Want — wanna ride your fingers —”
“Oh shit, yeah?” she swallows, adjusting back as you lift your hips up, “want my fingers inside you? How many d’you think you can take, princess? Hm?”
She pauses when she feels you scrabbling at the waistband of her boxers, a tiny laugh puffing from her at the pout on your face.
“Off,” you say, almost petulantly, as Vi shifts her own hips to jerk them off her legs, tossing the to one side.
“There, happy?”
You grin, sinking back over her thigh, looping your arms around her shoulders as she shifts her right hand beneath your sopping cunt and teases two fingers around your entrance.
“You never answered my question, sweet girl — how many fingers, hm?” she asks, even as you whine.
“Don’t — dunno — just — just wanna feel you inside me — please —”
Vi hums, watching your face as pleasure twists across your features.
“Then count for me — yeah? Can you do that?”
You nod, eager and desperate, and Vi chuckles, because she’s not sure if you even know what you’re agreeing to anymore. She pushes a finger passed your soaked folds and immediately feels you clench around her, the pressure making her own cunt squeeze. She hisses out a breath, rocking you down over her, shifting her hips to rut up against your leg.
“O-one —” you gasp, lifting your hips up to drop them back down again, your fingers digging into her skin of her back.
“More?” she asks, as you bounce a couple more times, and you nod, just as fervent as the first time, if not more so. She chuckles, “alright then —”
“T-two — oh — oh.”
She sinks another finger into you and revels in the way you keen, loud and high in the back of your throat, your head tossing back as you start to ride her fingers proper, your hair tumbling down around your shoulders. She reaches up with her free hand to fist a handful into her palm, yanking back slightly to bare your throat to her, groaning when she leans forward to suck another hard bruise into the skin of your collarbone.
“M-more — more Vi — want — want you to stretch me out — fuck — mm —”
“Fuck — shit — yeah? Want me to fuck you loose? That it?”
Vi’s head spins and she feels nearly delirious with want as she pushes a third finger into you, watching as your mouth falls open around a silent moan, your whole body shuddering around her. You’re so wet, so tight, and the growing ache between her own legs is starting to reach a fever pitch as she shamelessly rucks against your thigh, still slotted between her own.
“Yes, yes — fuck — Vi wanna — want you to stuff me full — fuck, fuck, fuck —”
“Shit, princess — so fuckin’ nasty — so needy —”
You nod, bouncing yourself so hard and fast that Vi has to take a second to marvel at how strong your legs are. She thanks the heavens for the innate athleticism required for figure skating before her thoughts smear into a crackling mess of pleasure as you inch your hand into the space between her cunt and your legs — your fingers pressing messily between her folds.
“Vi, Violet — can I — wanna feel you — want y-you to feel good too —”
Vi nearly loses it then, nodding, spreading her own legs wider to give you more access as you work three fingers into her sloppy cunt with no warning.
“F-fuck!”
You curl your fingers and Vi swears she starts to see stars.
“Y-yeah? Feel good?”
Vi nearly whimpers as she feels you pump your fingers up into the tender bundle of nerves inside her, her own fingers squelching noisily as you fuck yourself down on them. It’s all too much, and before she knows it, the tension in her stomach is snapping like a thread, her cunt pulsing around your fingers as her orgasm shakes through her, white pops of pleasure sparking behind her eyes.
“Mm — holy shit — oh my god… fuck —” she gulps down air, blinking her eyes as the shape of you comes back into focus above her, the buzzing inside her head still ringing with the aftermath of her high. She notes, vaguely, that you’re smiling down at her, a second before you lean down to press your lips to hers in a sweet kiss.
Vi hums into the kiss, her breath hitching slightly as she feels you pull your fingers from her. And when you pull back to pop them into your mouth, she feels another shudder work through her. Somewhere in the back of her head, there’s a small voice chanting holy fuck holy fuck holy fuck holy fuck how did I get so lucky? over and over again till it becomes the baseline thrum that drives her to lean up, pushing you down onto your back with a hazy, indulgent smile.
“Cmere, princess — as much as I love watching you ride me —” she inches her way down your body, trailing a few kisses down your chest, pausing to circle her tongue around your nipples just to make you arch up into her. She drops a few lingering kisses down the line of your abs, before puffing a hot breath over your throbbing clit, her fingers spreading your dripping cunt lips open.
She swallows, groaning to herself.
“I’ve been dreaming about tasting you for weeks.”
You let out a soft whine above her, and she feels your fingers sinking into her hair. She glances up and marvels at the sight of your body, laid bare like this above her mess of sheets, writhing for her as she finally drops her mouth to you, licking a long strip along your slit, her eyes nearly rolling back at the taste of you soaking her tongue.
“A-ah! Vi!”
It doesn’t take long after that, a few good, hard sucks on your clit, and her pushing three fingers back into you, and you’re coming apart for her, your thighs shaking as you whine and jerk and gasp your way through your orgasm, Vi fucking you through it slow, leaning up to press a kiss to your shoulder as your breaths start to even out and your lashes flicker open again.
“Hey there, princess,” she grins.
You’re still a little breathless, but you pull her down for another long kiss, tracing her jaw with your thumb.
“Hey,” you answer, pulling away.
Vi chuckles, slumping down on to the bed next to you to stare at the pebbled ceiling. The warmth of her old Christmas lights casting everything in a soft, diffused glow. She feels you shift and tuns to find you looking at her, your cheek pillowed on your arm.
She shifts to mirror your position, reaching out a hand to stroke your cheek.
You catch her hand with a smile, wrapping your fingers around hers as you say —
“Six. I get it now.”
Vi frowns. “What?”
You splay your palm over hers, touching the tip of her pointer finger with yours as you start to count.
“One, two, three —” you say, a mischievous grin twisting your lips as you point to her middle and ring finger, before pointing to your own hand, “four, five, six,” you finish, wiggling the three fingers that had so recently been shoved into her throbbing cunt.
Vi stares at you for a solid few seconds before she shoves her face into her pillow and screams.
“Oh my god — get the fuck outta here!” but she surfaces laughing, and you’re laughing too, and the sound is so intoxicating, so mind-numbingly lovely that she thinks if she could, she’d grind your laughter into powder and get high on the lines of your smile.
She inches forward to pull you closer, tucking you into her chest.
“You’re insane, you know that?” she asks, pressing her lips to your forehead as you giggle. You wiggle your arms around her middle till your bodies are pressed curve for curve, skin to skin. And you settle against her as if you were always made to be there to begin with.
“Mm, been told a few times…” you murmur, your voice soft.
A tiny clink jars both of you from your post-orgasmic stupor, and you both pull back, only to find your necklaces linked — the pendants stuck together with a pair of tiny magnets set at the point of each teardrop, so small that Vi hadn’t noticed when you’d first given it to her.
“Oh, I didn’t get to show you this back in the locker rooms but…” you reach up to tug the two pendants apart before letting them snap back together.
“The necklaces come as a pair and they link together like this —” you show her the two pendants, the shape something like an hourglass or the two rabbit ears of a perfectly tied bow.
“That’s cute, but… what’s it supposed to be? A time-turner thing?” Vi pushes herself up on an elbow to try and get a better look.
You shake your head, pouting slightly.
“Nope! Well, I mean, it’s sold as an infinity symbol cause —” you roll your eyes, “forever and all that crap —”
Vi smirks, “Oh yeah. That crap.”
You shoot her a look before continuing, your cheeks burning, “But… it reminded me of a figure eight. You do those in hockey too, right?”
Vi nods, “Yeah, they’re drills that we run. Pretty basic.”
You nod, “And in figure skating, we used to have these mandatory figures we’d have to skate to demonstrate our edge control — hence the name figure skating. Amara still makes us do them, because she’s old fashioned as all hell, but I just thought… it was kinda nice… for the two of us…” your voice trails off as you drop your hand and the two pendants hang, suspended between the pair of you with nothing but their own magnetism.
Vi licks her lips, “Yeah… it is nice.”
She leans in, tilts your head up for a kiss, but you tug back just an inch.
“Vi…?”
“Hm? What is it?”
You blink up at her, a flash of uncertainty flickering behind your eyes as you glance down at her lips.
“We’re… we’re dating now… right?”
Vi stares. And stares. And then, she pulls back with a dramatic groan.
“Oh my god, you did not just seriously hit me with the what are we after we’ve just fucked each other into another dimension, after I’ve been wearing the necklace that you gave me, the one that matches your necklace —”
You scramble forward to push Vi down, yelping.
“Okay! Okay — I’m sorry! It’s just —”
Vi raises her eyebrows, pinning you with a look even though you’re perched above her, your hands clamped over her wrists.
“Neither of us ever properly asked the other one out, and — and I know you said girlfriend in front of Caitlyn back at the party but —”
“Hey princess?”
You break off, blinking as she pushes up and settles you over her lap.
Vi smiles, tugging your chin towards her.
“Will you go out with me?”
The smile that breaks across your lips is so pretty, so tooth-achingly sweet that Vi thinks she just has to lean forward and taste it.
So, she does.
You nod, breathless even as she chases your lips, breaking the kiss with a gasp.
“Yes — yes… I will.”

The Prophecy
Viktor x You When the friend of your youth, Viktor, sees you still living in the Undercity, and working in a strip club at that, he is determined to reconnect, and rekindle a childhood friendship that was rooted in something more. Contents: fem!reader, fluff, angst and smut all in one folks, 18+ MDNI, a few physical features described but still reader insert I think (hair colour and freckles), both Viktor and you POVs, long-ass one shot 8.1k words Taglist: @night-fall-moon @zsuzsu321 @sh1zhu @circeinspace @casualjagodek @retrokatz @am-3-thyst @xlittlemissydjx @sseleniaa @thefandomsfervent Hi guys, thanks for bearing with my while I've been working on this one!! I have been absolutely obsessed with this man ever since I finished Arcane, so I just had to write something about him! I also think a lot of people mischaracterise him, so I tried really hard to get his personality right - let me know if I actually have lol. Anyone who knows my works knows how slutty my smut can get lol, but this is actually quite tender so a new one for me too. Anyway, I'll stop waffling now, I hope you enjoy. TTPD Contents | General Masterlist | AO3
DISCLAIMER: while this, in my opinion, is still classified as an ‘x you’ fic, a few physical features are described, namely ‘you’ having burgundy red hair that is, at one point, described as curly and having freckles, alongside a handful of super vague descriptors (eg. fluttering eyelashes, slope of her nose AKA things that can be applied to any and all faces) - basically everyone in the Arcane show has cool hair so I thought this would be a cute detail. It’s possible to ignore if you don’t want to think about have a different hair colour, but if you don’t want to, don’t read it! Almost every comment on this fic has been relating to this which, when I put hours of hard work and effort into something that I was proud of, is insanely demoralising. There has always been a disclaimer in the contents above, but I’m adding it here as well so it’s as clear as possible. Dead dove do not eat and all that. And I’m always open to constructive criticism, but there’s a way to go about it, and a way that will put someone in a slump for months, so please think before you comment! Anyway, not to put a downer before the work, thank you for the reposts and loves so far ❤️
Viktor was lost in thought as he made his way back to Piltover, small tube of Shimmer tucked away in his satchel. He didn’t know what to do. Using it might stabilise the Hexcore, allowing it to keep the plants alive and accomplish everything he and Jayce had been working towards for years, maybe even curing this sickness that had taken over him, or…
Or it could end horribly.
The undercity was as dark and unpleasant as he remembered it. He had never fit in here in his youth - too scrawny, too bookish, and with his leg, he stood no chance. And now was no different.
The neon store signs stood out against the blackened buildings and muddy streets. This part of the city, deep in the underbelly of Zaun, seemed busier than the rest, roads bustling with call girls and salesmen and tourists from Topside taking their pick of unruly establishments. Hundreds of voices layered atop each other in a cacophony of harsh laughter, garish music and argumentative tones. There was barely space to walk, especially with his cane, and he was starting to wonder if this journey was even worth it.
Then something caught his eye. A flash of red, deep and vibrant, moving towards him on the far side of the lane. It was hair, bouncy and curly and his subconscious told him it was shorter than it should’ve been, but it was a colour he knew. Her face wasn’t one he could place at first, but as she got closer, he saw the freckles that smattered across her nose like a constellation, her pink lips that were perpetually curled into a soft frown, her eyes that she always accentuated with brown liner. It was her.
The only friend of his youth. A young girl who used to sit behind the foliage near the water where he tested his inventions. She was shy, even shyer than he used to be, too scared to ask him anything about what he was making for a long time, just watching with curious eyes. But he would never forget the day she moved closer. The way her long, burgundy locks flowed around her, almost touching the floor, the way she was trying her best to be confident, but there was a soft shake in her hand, and a slight stutter as she said hello. Then she produced a small invention of her own - a submarine, the same colour as her hair, designed to float perfectly so the periscope was the only thing that peeked out from the surface.
For years, they were inseparable. She was more artistic than him, always adding a flair to her designs that he didn’t have, so he’d let her ‘improve’ his too. They would play together, and then as they got older, build together, each creation more daring and experimental. And then they started to drift apart. They were in their mid teens when her mother got sick, and she couldn’t make it out as much. Viktor always offered to help, but she refused, not even allowing him to see where she lived. And so, when Professor Heimerdinger found him and offered him an opportunity to be his assistant, he couldn’t even tell her. He left a note, delicately placed under a rock where they would build together, telling her where to find him and how to get in touch, but he never heard anything.
And now here she was. He called out her name softly, not wanting to alarm her in this hostile city, but she didn’t hear. She’d walked past him now, so he turned, following but she was walking fast, faster than he could manage. He called out again, but it wasn’t until then that he noticed the headphones over her ears. She couldn’t hear a thing. He carried on, hoping she would stop but she didn’t. If it was anyone else, he would’ve gone home, given up, but now he’d caught a glimpse of her, he had to see her. To talk to her. To find out why she never got in touch. To apologise for leaving her behind.
She disappeared from view for a moment, and he panicked, thinking he’d lost her again, but he caught a movement out of the corner of his eye, entering an alley beside a row of bars and clubs. He grimaced, following her to see the red locks just moving out of sight again, and a bouncer closing the door behind her. He tried to follow her into the building, but the man stopped him.
“Please…” he asked, out of breath, “it’s an old friend, I need to see her…”
“Staff entrance only, pal. You’ll have to go ‘round the front like everyone else.”
“But… she’s right there… I only need one moment, if she just saw me…” The words died on his lips. Would she even recognise you?
“Don’t make me ask you twice.”
It was dark inside the club, the lights low apart from on the stage and around the bar. It was only mid afternoon, but the place was near full of lowlifes just starting their evenings, sloshing their drinks and talking loudly. The neon from outside carried into this space too, strip lights around the platforms accentuating their presence. There were dancers atop each of them, but he averted his eyes. He shouldn’t have come here. This was so far from his comfort zone, loud and unruly, a long way away from his lab, but he had to see her. He couldn’t let her go again.
He found a stool by the bar, ordering a soda and waiting for her to start her shift. There was no way he could miss her again if he was right here when she started.
And then he saw her at the very edge of his vision, as though his eyes were programmed to search her out in any crowd. She was on stage, cherry red hair glowing in the soft lights, combined with the neon from below making her look like a ghost, ethereal. What was she doing up there?
***
“Afternoon, Joey.” You muttered to the bouncer, and he opened the door for you wordlessly as you slipped off your headphones, replacing your perfectly selected playlist with the sleazy music of the club. Just one of the many reasons you hated working here. You were running late, as per, throwing your things in your locker and quickly changing. Lacing up your shoes always took the longest time, and you barely even had a chance to check yourself in the mirror when you were finished. Your hair looked perfect at least, the naturally burgundy curls sitting at shoulder length. You missed the long hair of your youth, but it become impractical very quickly, and the memories it held… you ended up cutting it all off soon after your mum died. That was when you started working here too. You’d had dreams, of course you did, but growing up in the Undercity made it almost impossible to follow them. There were worse places to work though - for the most part, the patrons were respectful, and everyone who you worked with was kind, but it was still a strip club. At the end of the day, no little girl wanted to be an exotic dancer when they grew up. At least it just about paid the bills.
You had been put on a long shift today - late afternoon until the early hours. You didn’t mind though; it was exhausting, but more time meant more tips. And you needed the money. You were saving, slowly but surely. One day, it would be enough.
These shifts always started slow. Not many tips this early in the day. Not enough drunks - they were all too willing to part with their money, an exploit you knew how to use. After a while on stage, it was your turn to make your way into the crowd. You started away from the bar, smiling at a few, a couple of words of flirtation thrown around, but no one was loose enough for anything else yet. There was something different about the energy today though. You felt… exposed, on display, more than usual. Self conscious in a way you hadn’t been since your first week. By the time you got to the bar, you were already feeling frustrated at the lack of interest. But your favourite coworker was pouring the drinks tonight, and she had one ready for you already.
“Thanks, Katie” You crooned, knocking back the shot quickly and she immediately offered to refill - something you gratefully accepted.
“Thought you might need it. Slow start?”
“Yeah, not the best day so far.” You took your second, thanking her again, when you heard a voice call out your name. Your real name. It made you start, whipping your head around to find the source. You didn’t use that name here. You were expecting to see an ex, or an old boss, but instead you were met with a face you hadn’t seen in years.
His eyes hadn’t changed. Kind but tired, amber in colour and glowing like whiskey in sunlight. The curve of his nose was the same, the curl of his lips, the small moles like points on a map - one beneath his right eye and the other to the left of his lip. There was a cane tucked beside his stool, and he was dressed well. Too well to be in this part of town. A uniform of some sort, something a Topsider would wear: blue shirt accented with a cream ascot and waistcoat. It suited him.
As soon as you saw him, every fond memory of your childhood rushed back to you like a river. The gentleness when he explained his creations to you. His willingness when you asked if you could paint them pretty colours, or add cute designs. The way he held you as you cried about your mum falling ill. How quickly he offered you support, and how quickly you turned him down. You didn’t want to be a burden, but you regretted that choice as soon as he stopped showing up to your usual spot. You kept going for months before you gave up, still trying to find him. The last time you visited was to scatter your mum’s ashes - your stories of Viktor’s designs and the beautiful creek where you tested them out together being one of the last things that brought her comfort.
And now, he was here.
He’d made it out. He’d made it Topside. And you’d only fallen further down.
If there was one person you never wanted to see you like this, it was him. He was the only slither of your youth and innocence left, the only soul in the whole of Runeterra who knew the true version of yourself, the first version of yourself. The version you actually liked. And now, he had to see this. You couldn’t tell what you were feeling. Every emotion was vying for attention: joy, nostalgia, anger, envy…
He repeated your name in a questioning tone, and you realised you’d been staring at him, the rollercoaster of emotions you just went on likely visible on your face.
“Do you know him, darling? Or shall I grab Joe?” Katie asked from behind the bar, staring him down with a protective look. Viktor opened his mouth to speak, indignant look on his face, but you answered for him, never once being able to tear your eyes from him.
“Yeah I… cover for me? If anyone asks, he got a dance.”
“Of course.” Viktor’s gaze had returned you, confused, and you just muttered a ‘come on’, signalling him to follow you, and you lead him across the floor to one of the private rooms. They weren’t exactly the nicest places to talk, the whole room painted a hideous deep purple, a weirdly-shaped black velvet sofa the only thing to sit on. As soon as you closed the door, turning around to see the soft look on his face, every drop of anger seeped from you, replaced with relief. Relief that he was alive. Relief that he had done something with his life. Relief that you hadn’t lost him forever.
You couldn’t help it but let the tears fall as you threw yourself at him, wrapping your arms around him tight.
***
He was surprised by her warm welcome. After all these years, he had always imagined she would resent him, but here she was, face pressed to his chest as she hugged him, tears falling onto his shirt. He didn’t even have to think about it, one arm naturally surrounding her as she cried, keeping her close, while the other held firm to his cane, ensuring it was stable for the both of them. He never wanted to let her go again.
She eventually pulled away though, wiping her tears with the shy smile he remembered so well.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to.. on your fancy Topside shirt too.” She laughed nervously, tucking her hair behind her ears. “I… um, I imagined bumping into you one day, finding you again, but I never thought I would be dressed like this.” He finally let himself glance down at her when he said that, to take her in completely, safe in the knowledge that she wasn’t meeting his eyes. She looked beautiful - a black two-peice set, solid silk on the areas that counted, but the frills and accents were a sheer lace, stockings too, glittering beads woven into the delicate material. Even if the environment didn’t suit her, somehow the clothes still did, the same style he’d seen her develop in her teenage years. Simple in colour, beautiful in design - the cunning of her inventor’s mind applied to her other passion.
“What are you doing here, Viktor?” She sat down on the awkward sofa, curling her legs up onto it, and he followed suit, resting his cane against the arm.
“I could ask you the same thing.” It fell from his lips before he could stop it, and he winced, expecting her to be offended, but she just smiled sadly.
“You got out.” She stated as a shrouded question, ignoring his quip, and he nodded. He could explain, he should, but not yet.
“And you never wrote me.” He responded.
“Write you? Viktor, I didn’t know where you were.” She never got your letter.
“I left you a note by the creek. You never got it?” She shook her head. “I’m so sorry. I should’ve found you somehow, or…”
“It’s ok, Vik.” She shuffled closer on the loveseat, grabbing his hand and squeezing tight. Hearing the name she used to call him sent a pang of pain to his heart. This is what he had been missing out on all these years, all because of a stupid letter. “If I was in your shoes, I’d have done the same. Besides, I never let you see where I lived, or anything else about me. And when mum… I fell off the face of the earth. I wouldn’t have let you in no matter how hard you tried.”
“I’m still sorry.”
“I know.”
***
You spent a long time asking about his life now. He was working in the academy, partners with Piltover’s favourite researcher, helping to create the HexTech that kept the whole city afloat… he had changed the fucking world. And you were… here. Still.
He said your name softly, as though trying to broach a subject carefully and you knew what was coming. You had seen the query floating in his eyes since the moment he saw you.
“What are you doing working here? I mean, you’re brilliant, more so than me, and yet…”
“I’m still stuck in the Lanes?” You sighed.
“Well, yes.” You’d never once thought of him as ignorant. Maybe he’d been living Topside for too long.
“I never got my break. You deserved what you got, of course you did, and you’re the smartest person I know, Viktor, but that doesn’t change the fact that you got lucky. And it’s not the same here as when we were kids. Sure, things weren’t great then, but now… There are no jobs, no money, housing is insanely competitive even though most of it is disgusting.. it’s a vicious cycle meant to keep you in the shitter. This is what I could get. It pays my bills and lets me save a little, the other girls are nice, it’s close to my apartment…”
“But…” You knew from the look on his face what he was going to say - a long speech about how much potential you have, and how much better you could have it. You dropped his hand.
“But what?” You couldn’t help but snap, defensive over the very job that you cursed daily. “But I’m better than selling myself to sleazy drunks? You think I don’t fucking know that? You think I want to be losing my sense of self every day just so I can keep the lights on? You think it’s my dream to feel like I’m a lesser human being because I will let someone pay me to take them into this room and…” You stood up then, starting to pace as silent tears fell. You never let yourself think about any part of your life longer than you had to. Not pondering on it was the only thing keeping you alive.
“You know I wasn’t saying that…”
“I know I’m sorry… I just…”
“I know… I know…” He stood up then too, wrapping you in his arms and letting you cry. Again. You felt so stupid. “I missed you.” He whispered, face nestled into your hair, barely audible.
“I missed you too.” The tender moment didn’t last for long though, as a sharp knock on the door startled you, jumping away from him and wiping your eyes.
“Vikki?” Joey’s voice called out, and you breathed a sigh of relief. “You ok in there?” You put on your smiley voice, cooing back to him.
“Yeah, all good Joe, got a paying customer in here...”
“You got it, doll.” You heard him walk away, and turned back to see Viktor looking at you, head cocked, small smirk playing across his features.
“What?” You asked with a shy smile, wiping away the last of your tears.
“Vikki?” Oh.
“Well I couldn’t exactly use my real name.” He laughed at that, and you couldn’t help but giggle too. “That does mean we’ve been in here too long though, I should…”
“Yeah, no of course…” he moved to open the door, grabbing his cane, but you stopped him quickly, pressing your hand against the door frame.
“One second…” He frowned as you reached towards him, but he didn’t move, just watched curiously as you took your time unknotting his ascot. Once it was off, you unbuttoned a few of his buttons, trying to ruffle his shirt a little, make it look like you had actually been doing your job rather than talking to an old friend. “There…” you muttered quietly, realising he’d shuffled a little closer to you as you worked, and now his lips were only a breath away. He was looking at you so intently, as though there was something he wanted to say, but he never spoke, just gazed at you in a way that made your heart swell. Your hands lingered on his chest, comforted by the warmth and solidness of him. A reassurance that he was real and here. You didn’t want to move.
“Please, don’t go anywhere just yet…” you muttered, the words tumbling from your lips before you could stop them.
“I wouldn’t dream of it.”
***
She had been backstage for a while now, muttering something about trying to move her shifts around. She came back beaming, and it was infectious, a smile he was trying to fight taking over his own face just at the sight of her.
“Ok, if you’re busy tonight, or you have plans, you can tell me to piss off…”
“Never.” She blushed in response, her wide smile spreading further as she spoke, and he was helplessly drawn to her, eyes scanning her face intently.
“Well, someone came in early for their shift, but someone else is running late… anyway, our schedule is a mess, but good news is I only have to stay for another hour and then I’m free so… I was thinking, maybe you’d want to grab some food and catch up? Unless you have somewhere else to be…” She still sounded so shy, so unsure - the same habit she had when she was young, babbling when she was nervous. He was finding it hard to connect the dots in his mind: the timid person before him now, the girl he used to know, and the dancer on that stage, full of bravado and confidence.
“That sounds wonderful.” The joy in her face was intoxicating, and he watched as relief visibly washed over her body.
“Ok, brilliant.” She spun away for just a moment, trying to track down the bartender she seemed to know well. “Katie, he’s with me, ok? Send him back in like an hour, and his drinks are on my tab.” He tried to protest, but she rested a hand on his shoulder, quickly silencing him. “I insist. It’s the least I can do, considering how long you have to wait around.” Again, he tried to tell her didn’t mind, that he’d wait as long as she needed, anything for her, but she was gone already, slipping into the crowd, his shoulder cold where her hand had been. He sighed, turning back towards the bar on his stool, taking another sip of his soda.
“That’s our Vikki…” Katie mused, slicing a few garnishes behind the bar. “Never accepting that somebody else would want to do something for her.” He let out a dry laugh, half at the name, half in agreement.
“That sounds like her.” A beat of silence passed between them. The club was starting to fill up, but it wasn’t too rowdy yet, and nobody else was at the bar, all relying on bottle service and shot girls instead.
“Drink?” He shook his head politely. “How do you know her?” Katie asked, staying busy but obviously trying to snoop. He didn’t mind. She was a topic he didn’t mind talking about.
“Childhood friend. I haven’t seen her in… a very long time.” Her eyebrow shot up at that.
“What was your name, by the way?”
“Viktor.” A look of surprise flitted across her face.
“Ohh.” She drawled knowingly, smiling at herself as she continued to wedge limes.
“What?”
“I’ve heard of you, that’s all. Her childhood love who disappeared on her while her mother was dying…”
“You don’t know the whole story…” He snapped back quickly. He might hate himself for what happened, but he felt the need to defend his choices. It had turned out well for him, he just wished he could’ve found her. Taken her with him. Their life could’ve been so different. Katie chuckled, continuing her tasks.
“Oh trust me, I do. She’s very quick to defend you, you know. You can do no wrong in her eyes…”
“Not so sure about that…” As he muttered to himself, something she’d said suddenly hit him. Her childhood love…“Actually, on second thought, I will grab a drink please, whatever she usually has. But don’t put it on her tab…”
“I wasn’t planning on it, Topsider.” She saluted mockingly with a smile.
Two down and that was all he was having, just needing something to take the edge off after Katie’s admission. All those years wasted, because you thought childhood love was stupid and pointless. And now, seeing her again, you still love her as much as you did back then…
Katie was on her break, so he twisted in his seat, trying to find her in the crowd. She had never been difficult for him to spot, everything about her so familiar to him, and this time, she was centre stage, which made it even easier. Every part of him was screaming to turn away, to not taint his view of her, but he was instantly transfixed. She danced so fluidly, so gracefully. Every movement she made was purposeful and poised. However much she hated her job, she took pride in it. He was a scientist, sure, but she was a creator, through and through.
***
You were finally finished, and you were exhausted. Even though it wasn’t even half a usual shift, seeing Viktor, all the memories it brought back, it had been so emotionally draining.
You were grateful that the changing area was empty. It wasn’t the usual shift time, and no one ever came here on their break, so at least Viktor wouldn’t have to deal with that. You almost laughed at the thought.
There was a gentle knock, and his voice sent a flutter straight to your heart.
“Vikki?” He called out mockingly, and you laughed at the way he’d latched on to your new name. It was inspired by him, after all. “Are you decent?”
“Yes, you can come in.” You were looking good, if you said so yourself. The fashion and the opportunity you were afforded to express yourself in that way was one of the few things you did like about this place. You’d tried to incorporate the shapes and designs of your ‘work attire’ into a more Lanes-friendly outfit, layering a black organza shirt over the lacy bodice, beading shining through the sheer fabric, pairing it with a bubble skirt and knee high boots, just the right height to allow your stockings to peek from the top. There was only one item that wasn’t black; his neckerchief that you had taken earlier was now around your own collar, tied in a dainty bow. He grinned as soon as he laid his eyes on it, striding towards you and gently holding the hemmed edge between his fingers.
“I guess I’m not getting this back, huh.”
“Never.” He shrugged.
“I’m ok with that.” God, the way he looked at you. It made you melt without fail, warm flush spreading across your cheeks.
“Are you ready to go?” You muttered, eyes still glued to his, honey tones making you feel as though you were stuck in them. A fly trapped in amber, resigned to its fate.
“I’m ready when you are.”
You’d decided you were going to cook for him tonight instead of taking him out. The places near you either weren’t nice enough, or they knew you for the wrong reasons. Besides, you wanted to show him your place. To show him that, even though you were still here, you had done everything you could to make the best of it, to continue learning and inventing and developing yourself.
That did mean you had to stop by the store, though. Which meant bumping into Angel. He and Viktor would not get on.
You had grabbed Viktor’s arm as soon as you left the club, a habit from the times Joey had walked you home, knowing that you were safer beside a man than by yourself. Even though the Undercity was bustling tonight, there was something so soothing about being here with him. A nostalgia warming you from the inside out. He let you guide him into the shop below your apartment, chatting absentmindedly about nothing and everything, when a smooth voice stopped yoou in your tracks.
“Not so fast, Vikki…” You groaned, turning back the few steps you had made into the entrance.
“Hey Angel.” You cooed, although it felt wrong falling into your usual flirtatious routine when Viktor was right behind you. He was working behind the counter today, thumbing through the till. His long dreadlocks were down, grey peeking through his beard, wide grin as his eyes traced over you, following your arm to where it joined the man next to you.
“Is that a nickname, or…” Viktor muttered, and you couldn’t help but laugh as you responded.
“No, Vik, this is my landlord Angel…”
“Landlord, huh? Thought I was more than that, sugar…” He leaned across the counter, shit-eating smile on his face, clearing noticing and enjoying the fact he was winding up your new companion. Viktor scowled, moving a step closer to you.
“Yeah, yeah, keep dreaming, old man…” You sent him a wink, and he laughed, the booming noise of it always making you smile. “What have you got in that’s fresh? I’m actually cooking tonight…”
You chatted a little longer, grabbing what Angel recommended and some wine, before heading upstairs via the back of the shop. Viktor was still scowling slightly as you were unlocking your door, and you laughed lightly, nudging him with the bag of shopping.
“What?” He huffed.
“I don’t like that guy.” He grumbled, feeling smug that you had called it.
“He’s my landlord, Vik, and a friend. He’s a good guy, don’t worry.” He just shrugged as you finally got the door open, and you thanked the stars that you had remembered to tidy last night, or else it would be a complete tip. There were still remnants from your busy morning scattered all around the studio: scrap pieces of fabric and thread strewn across the kitchen table, the half-finished neglige you were constructing laid over the back of one of the chairs, the cogs and pieces of machinery lie abandoned next to your sewing machine in the wake of the modifications you were trying to make so it could handle more delicate material. The space itself was dark in colour, olive and navy washing the walls, brown leather sofa and black countertops marking their territory in the small apartment, the stain-glass screen in front of your bed the only splash of jewel toned colour. You could feel Viktor’s curiosity at the place, and as he stepped further into it, a smile settled onto his lips.
“It’s so very… you.” He said, and in any other intonation, it would’ve sounded like a bad thing, but when he said it, full of adoration.. it was a compliment of the highest order.
***
She was mesmerising as she cooked, twirling in the kitchen to her carefully selected vinyl, a wide smile on her face as she tested what she was making. He wanted to help but she wouldn’t let him, batting him away and telling him to sit down, and for now, he had obliged. But, as much as he wanted to help her always, right now, he just wanted to be close.
“At least let me pour the wine?” He said, already standing to help, and she huffed, but didn't object. Instead, she handed him the corkscrew and the bottle wordlessly. He smiled, leaning against the counter and continuing to watch her as she stirred. She was always so chaotic when she was creating, something evidenced by the near bomb-site on her kitchen table. It was just so… her. Everything about her apartment was as well, such a perfect and beautiful representation of everything she was, every tiny detail of her life and personality reflected in the space she lived in. The colours, the soft furnishings, the bookshelves lining the wall behind her bed. Then, he noticed something about the stain glass screen that separated the room, soft light from her bedside lamp washing through it and creating a blue ripple across the floor like a stream. It was of their place, their creek. It was abstract, sure, but he would recognise it anywhere. The way certain rocks jutted out, the colours of it all, the small boat floating in the still glass water.
“Did you make that?” He asked earnestly, and she briefly glanced up from the stove to see what he was looking at.
“Yeah, I've been trying out a lot of different hobbies actually, things to keep me busy when I’m not working. That was one of my favourites…”
“It’s beautiful.” She smiled sadly, focusing her attention back to the pan.
“It reminds me of you.”
He poured them both a glass, and she gratefully accepted.
“It’s nearly finished, just a few more… oh I meant to ask earlier…” Her mind was such a beautiful thing, the speed at which it moved so captivating, not even time to finish her own thought before starting another, “why were you even here today? In the Undercity, in my club… I just never thought I’d see you back here by choice.”
“I was visiting an old friend, a quandary about a new gadget Jayce and I are working on, but…” He was going to say something about it, ask her opinion on whether he should follow Doctor Reveck’s advice, what he should do next, but he decided against it. “He didn’t have any insights.”
“Maybe I can help?”
“No, I…” She looked hurt at the speed the word left his mouth, almost recoiling and turning back to her cooking with a frown. “I mean that you probably could, but I don’t want to taint tonight by talking about a project that has been frustrating me for weeks. Another time though, of course I would appreciate your insight.” She sighed in relief, smile flitting back across her face. She grabbed a spoon from the drawer, humming as she did, a flurry of breathtaking movement as she dipped it into the sauce, spinning back around and holding it up to him.
“Taste?” She asked, the look on her face so hopeful it melted him, her joy infectious. But underneath all of it, he couldn't help but notice the cracks: the bags under her eyes, the tiredness set into them, the subtle shake of her hand. But he just smiled, enveloping her hand in his and bringing the spoon to his lips.
“It’s perfect.”
“I’m not sure I’d go that far.” She looked proud nonetheless, spinning back away from him and he was left to watch again, heart swelling. He wanted this. Cooking with her, drinking wine in the kitchen to her favourite record, letting her order him around. He wanted the… intimacy of it. The domesticity. The realisation of it ached. You could’ve had this. All these years without her, all these years wasted. Precious time that you no longer have to spare. If you’d have just waited, just taken more time to find her, insisted on helping her even…
“It’s ready!” She exclaimed, presenting a plate with a wide grin, and every stress, every regret simultaneously melted away and intensified, a pit forming in his stomach.
“It looks wonderful.”
***
You had eaten, and you were both now on your second glass of wine. You felt closer to him with every single second, drawn to every word he said like moth to a flame. At some point in the evening, you’d moved to the floor, backs to the sofa, as you looked through some of your old sketches you had found. The conversation lulled momentarily, a faraway look in his eyes, and you realised how close you had gotten. Your elbow was leaning on the sofa, supporting your head with your body twisted to face him, knee pressing against his thigh. You moved your head forwards to glance at the sketchbook, and your hand fell, resting on his shoulder. A stillness fell over him at the touch, and he smiled sadly to himself.
“I think you should come back with me.” He stated with finality, and you froze.
“What do you…”
“I think you should come back to Piltover.” He closed the book, placing it gently on the low coffee table. He was serious. “Help Jayce and I with our projects. Let me teach you about HexTech.”
“Vik, I don’t exactly have any actual experience. I don’t have an education. I can’t afford to live Topside…”
“You can live with me.” He said it so simply, like it was so obvious. Of course you would love that. Now you’d seen him again, you didn’t want to be apart from him but… “Professor Heimerdinger can give you lessons, but you have the mind already. There are certain things that can’t be taught. You have the passion, the skill, the creativity…”
“But…” You weren’t trying to pick apart his plan, but it felt terrifying. Even though it was everything you had ever wanted, it felt so far fetched. Like a fever dream. It didn’t feel like your life, your future.
“No, I… I lost you once, I can’t do it again.”
“Vik…” He grabbed your hand that was resting by his shoulder, and you felt yourself relax into his touch. He turned head to meet your eyes, sadness creeping into them.
“I don’t have much time left.” The finality of his statement shocked you, and you couldn’t tell what he was talking about. Did he have somewhere else to be? Oh god, you’d already kept him here too long…
“What do you mean, time left?”
“I’m dying.” It felt like somebody had punched you in the gut, all the air in your lungs gone.
“You’re…”
“Dying.” He repeated factually, and your heart sank further into your stomach. “And if we don’t… Jayce and I are working on something that might help, but if it doesn’t, I need someone I trust to take over from me.”
“Viktor, hold on, I need to think…” Your mind was racing, and you still couldn’t quite wrap your head around everything, hands running through your hair. He was dying. He wanted you to move Topside. He wanted you to work with him. To take over his life’s work. “It’s been years. I haven’t seen you in years and now you want me to… now you trust me to…”
“Of course.” He muttered, speaking your name softly to get your attention, hand gently wiping your face where tears had fallen without you noticing. “You’re everything to me, you always have been. There’s nothing I wouldn’t trust you with.” His hand was still resting on your face, and as you searched his eyes, you saw something else. Something pleading, something that echoed the feeling bouncing around in your heart. It would be hard. It would take a long time to settle in, to learn the ropes, to feel like you belonged. But it was your dream. To help change the world. And if he didn't have long, there was no chance you were wasting any of your time left with him.
“Ok.” You answered nodding, and you watched a smile take over his face, heart swelling at the sight.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah… Vik, you’re offering me my dreams on a silver platter, and on top of it all, I get to be…” You nearly slipped, about to say be with you but you knew that was a lot. That you had only just reunited and to spring the whole I’ve loved you since I was 10 and I’ve never loved a soul since thing on him might ruin the dream that he’s just given you. But, fuck, you wanted to kiss him right now. “I get to work with you again.. there would have to be one hell of a catch for me to say no to that.”
“The whole dying thing isn’t too much of a problem then?” He asked with a slight smile, trying to hide a genuine fear beneath a joke.
“Oh, honey, knowing that we don’t have another decade of time to lose… I’m not letting you slip through my fingers this time.” His hand felt so natural resting against your cheek you’d forgotten it was there until it moved to cup the base of your neck, thumb drawing gentle lines across your jaw. His amber eyes were searching your features, looking for anything to indicate that you were unsure, but your resolve shone through, and you could see the moment he realised this was going to work, relief flooding through them.
Then, before you could process what was happening, his hand gently guided you forward until your lips brushed against his—light as a feather. For a moment, you couldn't believe he had just kissed you, that it was real. But as you met those pleading honey eyes, everything else faded away. Every doubt, every regret, every sliver of worry vanished, replaced by such overwhelming care and love that you felt you might burst. Your body gave in without conscious thought, melting into his arms as you kissed him. His hands drifted to the back of your head, tangling in your hair and pulling you closer. You couldn't get close enough, your hands gripping the front of his shirt. His fingers traced down your body until they reached your hips, pulling you over him. A soft giggle escaped into his mouth as you swung your leg over his, settling onto his lap. When he finally broke for breath, you found yourself chasing his lips, panting into the space between you with a wide smile.
His lips found yours again, this time with more urgency, more need. Your hands slid up his chest to his shoulders, steadying yourself as his grip on your hips tightened. The feeling of his fingers pressing into your skin sent shivers down your spine, and you couldn't help but let out a soft moan into his mouth. He smiled against your lips, one hand moving to cup your face while the other remained firmly at your waist.
"I've wanted this for so long," he whispered against your mouth, voice rough with emotion. You could only nod in response, too overwhelmed by the feeling of finally being in his arms after all these years.
The record had long since stopped playing, leaving only the sound of your shared breaths and racing hearts in the quiet apartment. His thumb traced gentle circles on your cheek as he pulled back just enough to look into your eyes, full of warmth and something deeper, something that had been there all along. Something that you had been too blinded by insecurity to notice earlier. Something that you knew all too well, reflected in your own heart. You pressed your lips to the mole on his cheek, and the one beside his mouth, a small smirk playing across his features as you did.
“I still can’t quite believe this is happening.” You muttered softly against his cheek, and he sighed, thumb dancing across your lips.
You eventually found yourselves entwined on your bed, limbs tangled in soft cotton sheets, his back pressed firmly against your sturdy wooden headboard as you rocked onto him with gentle, deliberate movements. Each subtle shift of your hips sent waves of pleasure coursing through your body, making your breath catch. You panted softly into his mouth as his strong, careful hands helped guide your every motion, his touch both grounding and electrifying. The overwhelming need to be closer drove you to pull him tighter against you, your arms wrapping securely around his shoulders until there wasn't even a whisper of space between your bodies. Your chest pressed firmly to his, feeling his rapid heartbeat matching yours, as your head naturally found its place in the crook of his neck. You pressed feather-light kisses against the sensitive skin, tasting the salt and breathing in his familiar scent. The intimacy of the moment was almost overwhelming - so intense, so raw, so perfectly natural - and you found yourself climbing toward your peak faster than you ever had before, your body responding to his every touch as if it had been waiting for this moment forever. You whined softly into his skin as pleasure built within you, each movement bliss, and he responded with a groan as he pressed his lips tenderly to your temple.
"That feels so good, sweetheart," he drawled, his voice coarse with desire, and your hips instinctively bucked harder against him, drawing a sharp gasp from both of you. His meticulous fingers traced teasing patterns across your hipbones before finding their way between your bodies, circling your sensitive clit with perfectly measured pressure that made your toes curl. His other hand gently cupped your chin, drawing you back until your eyes met his, gilded with desire but still so full of tenderness. His lips ghosted across yours before he pressed his forehead to your own, releasing your face and returning his hand to your hip, guiding you once more. You could feel yourself fluttering around him as your pleasure built to an almost unbearable peak, and his eyes rolled back, a broken groan escaping his lips and filling the charged space between you. The coil of pleasure wound tighter and tighter as you approached your climax, desperately seeking more of him, claiming his mouth in a deep, passionate kiss that swallowed the stream of desperate moans spilling from both your lips. When your release finally crashed over you, it was like nothing you'd ever experienced - all the pressure, all the built-up desperation exploded like a supernova and pure, white-hot ecstasy consumed every nerve ending, every thought, every sensation except the feeling of him inside you and against you. He followed shortly after, gasping your name like a prayer against your skin as his own pleasure overtook him, his lips finding purchase on your neck as he shuddered through his release. In that moment, it was perfection, hearing him, feeling him, everything you had ever dreamed of and more. But as you came down from your shared bliss, you couldn't quite silence the intruding thought lurking at the edges of your consciousness - that you wouldn’t have him for long.
***
She looked so peaceful curled against him, her head nestled perfectly in the crook of his chest as if she belonged there, her beautiful red hair fanning out like a fiery halo in the dim light. Her beauty was staggering - the gentle slope of her nose, the delicate arch of her brows, the soft curve of her lips - and he couldn't help but trace each feature with his fingertips, mapping the geography of her face with tender precision. She sighed contentedly in her sleep at his touch, unconsciously pressing closer to him, one hand curling loosely in the fabric of his sheets that lay across them. He couldn't remember the last time he'd felt this complete, this profoundly at peace, as if all the jagged pieces of his life had suddenly aligned. His fingers continued their gentle exploration, committing every detail to memory - the light dusting of freckles across her nose, the subtle flutter of her eyelashes, the way her lips curved slightly downwards even in sleep. He wanted to capture this moment, to carry it with him always like a talisman, a protection. A reminder that he would do anything to preserve her peace of mind. To make her happy.
The soft amber from the bedside lamp caught in her hair and painted her skin in warm honey tones, making her look almost otherworldly in her beauty, an ethereal being who had chosen, inexplicably, to be with him. He pressed his lips to her forehead in a feather-light kiss, breathing in the familiar scent of her hair, before letting his own eyes drift closed. Despite everything - the illness creeping through his veins, the uncertainty that clouded their future like a torrential storm on the horizon - right now, everything felt exactly as it should be.

Kinktember Day 12: Electrophilia
Aespa Winter x male reader smut
words: 3,194 Kinktember Masterlist
"Sign here. Here. And here."
"And what's this for, exactly?" Winter asks, pointing a dainty finger at the paperwork.
"Protection. When someone like you enters a place like this, I need you to sign a waiver stating that you're of sound mind and know what you're doing."
"My mind is far from sound," she says with a playful wink.
Winter takes the pen from your hand. Her nails are painted a matte red with glittery bits at the tips. When she scrawls out Kim Minjeong on the dotted lines, it looks akin to an intricate piece of calligraphy. She places the pen on top and slides it back across the desk. "Now. I've signed and paid. Can we get to the fun?"
With a smile and a nod, you wordlessly guide her to the room she paid for. On the way, you take a few glances back at her, there's this keen expression of wonderment as she spots rooms for every type of fetish she might one day indulge in. Little ideas fired around her mind. What she might try next and how it may very well send her to heights of pleasure unforeseen. She must feel your gaze upon her, as a small giggle and coy smile creep on her face, and she asks in a small voice, "What?"
"Nothing," you say as you pull open the door at the end on the right. "You just have this look about you."
"A good look, I hope?"
She walks through the threshold. As the door closes behind you, the neon strips light up the room in a pale violet. Black leather and cushions cover almost every surface and all the other items seem so insignificant around the electrified bed in the middle. "Intrigue and excitement are always a good look in a place like this."
Winter's eyes alight as if someone had set a flame to a blanket of kindling. "This place... it's amazing." The corners of her mouth inch towards her ears as her gaze sweeps every nook and corner of the room, from the hanging metal chains and restraints to the riding crops and collars lined up by size, perfectly uniformed and orderly on their wooden mounts. Her gaze settles on a coil of rubberized cable as the width of her pupil increases, darkening her eyes. "I thought I would be nervous, but..."
Winter steps further into the room, you watch her take delicate steps as she stares at the centre-piece, the bed that will soon become her salvation, her ruin, her desire personified. She takes her jacket off and carelessly drops it on the floor as she spins back towards you, her eyes are wild and yet bright with lust as her tongue runs over her top row of teeth.
"I'm so excited," she confesses. "It's... exhilarating."
She steps close to you, her breath washing against your neck, sending an enticing thrill down the base of your skull.
"How would you like me? And don't go easy on me okay? I might look fragile..." Winter steps back a couple of times, letting you size her up as if you haven't been doing it since the moment she walked it. "but I'm not."
"Let's start by getting you fitted with a little something," you say as you walk to the side, picking out the perfect shock collar to fit Winter. Something thin would be best, is what you decide. Such a slender frame as hers wouldn't suit a big chunky collar.
"Yes, please," Winter says, making an energetic skip up to your side and resting her hand on your shoulder. "Something light is usually my colour."
"I think so too. Something skinny too. Ah, I know just the one."
After a brief scan along the top three rows, you spot the perfect collar to suit her. It's a light pink, it's her size and looks as delicate and attractive as she is.
"Oh my. That's... so cute," she sighs.
You pull it from its hook and open it. "Now, come here winter. Let me put it on you. Make sure it fits."
Obedient and happy to comply, Winter eagerly steps forward, craning her neck back slightly. Her breaths are even and calm as she closes her eyes. "There's something so... vulnerable about being collared. It's intoxicating," she explains.
"Do you want to know why?"
Winter's mouth opens but she stays quiet.
"Because girls like you, get a kick from relinquishing control. Once the collar's around your neck, you become mine. Completely. Whatever I say goes, isn't that so? And if you don't, you get a shock."
The silence grows until she begins to nod her head gently. "That's exactly it... I have a taste for the painful stuff. For the hurt and submission."
You loop the collar around Winter's neck. It fits as though it were made for her. Tightly fitted, enough to lightly choke her, enough to make sure the contacts within it touch her skin. You take the remote in hand and fiddle with the dial. A mild charge hums from the wires as they heat, preparing to punish.
"That's an agreeable buzz," she whispers with closed eyes. "Perfect."
"Perfect indeed. Now, Winter, on your knees for me." You barely give her a chance to process the request before you determine she has taken too long, and hit the button on the control. A low crackle emanates as it pumps voltage into her neck. Enough for the contacts to spark a single charge through her. Just a sharp sting of pain for a split second before she cries out. Her knees buckle, sending her to the floor, one hand grabbing at the collar as the other seeks a stable point in the soft black mats covering the room.
"Agh— f—fuck," she swears quietly as she gasps for air. "That hurt. So good." Her breaths are quick, her cheeks slightly flushed, and her eyes are wide with delight.
"Top, off."
With trembling hands, Winter holds the hem of her black top. This time you give her all the time she needs to take it off, but she doesn't. "Shock me, I'm a bad girl."
Without hesitation you bring a bigger jolt through the collar, causing her whole body to quiver. Winter shouts and winces, but the smile on her face as she takes it, and pulls her top over her head, tells you that everything's going to plan.
With her top now on the floor and no bra ever being underneath it, you observe how gorgeous she looks. With her small breasts, tiny frame and mischievous face. You stand in place and look, taking her body in and enjoying it. Her waist is so slim, and when her breath quickens, it accentuates that little curve of her abdomen, even a hint at the grooves on each side of her lower stomach.
"Again," she pleads, with puppy dog eyes that are part-glazed.
"You do have a taste for being hurt," you respond as you turn the voltage dial on the collar a little more. A click of your thumb later, and this time she yells louder. Tears well up in her eyes, but her smile only widens.
"I do," Winter pants out the two syllables like they're the only words she knows. "I do. I do. I do."
She repeats it over and over until you hit it again. Her knuckles go white as her body tightens. Muscles bunching in her back and in her arms and legs. Her lithe body trembling through another delicious jolt.
You reach down and grab her by the neck, fingers catching her just under the shock collar. A strangled gasp bursts from between her lips as her wide and eager eyes stare right at you, wet with lust. You pull her to her feet. There's no resistance, nor do you expect there to be. Once she's on her feet, she rushes her mouth to yours. A desperate, needy kiss. Hungry and moaning into your lips.
You break her away from you by pushing her back, sending her stumbling towards the bed. "Those shorts. Take them off."
The delighted gleam of hunger and sadism in your eye isn't lost on Winter. She quickly shakes her head, hoping to earn herself another round of pain.
"Think you deserve more? Think you've been a good enough girl?" You ask, taking a step closer. "Shorts first, then I'll treat you."
Winter does as she is told and lets her denim shorts fall. And just like her top, there's nothing beneath. An amused smile appears as her eyebrows bounce once, and she says, "Surprise!" in the most cute manner.
"I have to say, Winter, everything about you is a surprise. Such a cute little thing you are, but so devious too. I'd love to take you apart, bit by bit."
"Take me however you'd like," she chimes in.
"Yeah?" You turn away from her naked, helpless body and to the desk, picking up the prod and flick the switch to make it come alive. "With this?"
You turn and present the long silver rod, where at the end of it, two metal prongs protrude. You push the button and an arc of electricity forms between them. Winter's eyes roll back, and her thighs press tightly together. She squeezes her own chest as she whispers, "Please," over and over.
Slowly, you stalk toward Winter, you can almost see the ache radiating from her like she is a bomb ready to explode. Then suddenly, before she has a chance to register what's happening, you stab the prod forward into her left calf. Winter spasms and convulses, her teeth clench and her hands grasp at nothing but air. She wails in painful, tortured delight and falls to one knee.
Her other leg now too.
"Yes," she squeals, "F... Fuck. Thank you."
You grab a fist full of her blonde locks, twisting them tightly between your fingers as you drag back to her feet. "On the bed. Now," you tell her, your voice as ice cold as the lack of emotion on your face.
She whimpers as you pull her hard until she's flat on her back in the centre of the bed. It's about waist height, and you look down at her lithe, naked frame. Strands of blonde hair stick to her cheeks from perspiration and tears of pleasure. Her limbs tremble in aftershocks from the latest barrage of electricity that was shot through her, and her skin glistens.
"Please... Again. Please," she whimpers, a feeble creature now after the latest shock. "I'm so wet." Winter shifts one leg higher, spreading herself, and tilting her hips. With one hand you reach into her, plunging two fingers into her cunt.
"Fuck." She lets out a deep gasp and turns her head to look up at you, lips trembling, wet with her own spit, and asks again for more.
You withdraw your fingers and push the prod against her abdomen. Without hesitation, you make her body buck and her cry cut through the still air of the room. Winter yells and twists, kicking her feet wildly into the air as she twitches in her spot. When you stop she lies flat, panting and gasping and eyes streaming. She buries her own fingers into her cunt now.
"Please do it again, I'm going to cum." Her voice is croaky and scratchy from yelling but still thick with urgency and desire.
Another shock.
Another twitch of muscles.
Another shock.
Another scream, and then finally, Winter throws her head back as her pussy tightens around her own fingers and spasms and writhes as waves of pleasure and pain hit her simultaneously. She cries out incoherent words. Scratches her nails at her own thighs while rubbing her clit through her orgasm. Winter shakes and trembles before you, her mouth hung agape.
She's still cumming and this time you hit the button for the collar around her neck. The brief, sharp flash makes her shake harder. The pitch of her orgasmic scream pitches higher.
"Again," Winter calls.
One last time.
You jolt her again, and Winter reaches a fevered pitch as she shakes with more ecstasy than any one person could take. Her whole body is trembling as one large, unceasing wave of pleasure sweeps through every part of her body. The lewd expressions of overwhelming satisfaction as she slowly comes back down are almost enough for you to fuck her, and right there and then, you are tempted.
You throw the shock prod, now it's time to make the bed do the work. Winter has no fight in her as you take hold of her wrists and then ankles, fastening them one by one in bindings that hold her spread and vulnerable. There's a strap for her upper arm too, and her thighs, and finally across her slutty little waist. You make them all tight, and they're all wired up.
"What—? What are you doing?" Winter questions, turning her neck to take stock of the restraints.
You simply ignore her question and focus on attaching the last restraint, that sits across her upper chest, just below her collar bones. Then you walk across the room and press a large red button. A thrumming of electricity hums through the metal bars. Every contact point on her body warms up and a chorus of muffled cracks and sparks come to life around Winter.
"This is special," Winter mutters to herself, her tone hinting at awe. She struggles against her bonds and they're secure. Tight and secure. Even with that futile exertion, she has no escape and smiles at that realization. "Looks like you have me trapped. Can you really hurt a pretty little idol like me? Can you go as far as I need you to?"
Winter swallows hard as she watches your mouth twist into a malevolent sneer.
You hit the button.
She starts to shake. The moan from her lips is loud and almost primal, the exhale laced with pain and excitement. She moans out loud, thrashing against her shackles, her small body thrusting back and forth as the lowest setting courses through her.
You stand over her, looking down and watching the way her muscles tense and her fingers clench. Her toes curl and the moans grow louder, and more frequent. More desperate, she can barely get a word out but she still pleads for more, the word yes spewing from her lips amidst an unending list of other slurred sounds.
You leave her there for a moment, struggling, while you slide your hand into a thick rubber glove, working it up your arm.
"Please make me cum," Winter pants through an agony of pleasure.
You walk back to her, pressing your hand against her flat stomach. She trembles under your touch, you can feel the way her body vibrates through the glove. Her eyes go wide with fear and excitement.
"Hurry, it's so good!" Winter squirms against the bonds but can't move an inch. You take your time looking between her thighs, at her soft and bare cunt, a shade of pink between two rosy folds. It's so slick as her pussy begins to trickle with her lust.
The thick rubber of the glove goes into her hole and makes Winter yelp like the pathetic submissive slut that she is. You stretch her pretty little pussy so easily, thanks to how creamy it is. She's so messy. At the same time, you raise a thumb to the control and push it up a notch.
An explosion of lightning and a sensation between her legs and another strangled moan of desperation. Her head whips from side to side. "I can't, oh shit," Winter manages to blurt out, her voice reduced to a pathetic squeak.
With your finger hooking into her sensitive spot, and her body stimulated with an electrical current, Winter doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell. You fuck her hard and rough with your hand until your arm begins to ache. You play with the current of the bed and the collar, sending shocks through her when she least expects it. She climaxes before long, her legs pulling taut at the restraints. She cries, "More!" as she loses herself to the pulses of her orgasm.
And as her back arches as best as it can, she floods over your glove with cum and screams for it. Winter's release is incredible, it gushes all over you, but you just don't let up. She's absolutely out of control and has to suffer more. Winter can't escape any part of her restraints as they don't give up shocking her through her orgasm, one after the other.
Her face twists in the most fucked up combination of pain and pleasure. It's an incredible sight.
You're just pounding her tight little cunt. Stretching it as it gushes out all the cum she has to give. Her body struggles against all the different sensations. She just keeps spilling out onto the bed as her body shakes.
It's only when she starts to choke out her moans that you finally twist the dial down to zero. It takes a few seconds to turn it completely off but the damage was done. Winter is heaving for air and when you slowly withdraw the digit buried inside her, pulling the plug on her cum spilling out.
"Wait a second," she breathes out in between pants, "let me just..." Winter stares up at the ceiling as she works on stabilising her breathing. When the world seems to slow back to an acceptable pace, her lips turn up into a joyous little smile. "Shit," Winter winces as her hips buck, the throb in her core making her moan ever so softly. "I think I made a mess."
You lift your wrist and nod as if to agree. "You made a lot of a mess."
Her pale skin has turned flush and warm with a sheen of sweat from exertion. She takes a deep breath, letting the sensation of the electrocution linger. Winter looks radiant, so beautiful that the urge to do all those things you wanted to come bubbling back. But you stay strong, despite how tempting her glistening little body is as her chest rises and falls.
"No regrets though," Winter comments, stretching against the confines of her restraints. "I've never cum like that before in my life."
"It really suits you, being tied down like this, cumming over and over. Are you sure you don't want another round?"
With a slight chuckle, Winter closes her eyes and gives her head a feeble, exhausted shake. "I do, but I can't." She can't even bear to open her eyes, she's spent and in a state, unable to cope with the aftershocks anymore.
"This is more like the woman I expected, shy and frail and overwhelmed. I guess you're just so easily broken."
"How did I do?" She asks in a raspy voice.
"For a first time? Great. Most people don't make it to the bed. And not many people look that good when they're cumming."
Winter lifts her chin a little higher. "I did that well?"
"You did."

DPxDC Afterlife, But It's A Bar
[discontinued, feel free to add on]
It was weird. Not wrong, alarming or dangerous type of weird. Not good or comforting either.
Just plain weird.
It all started a few days ago, on Wednesday, to be exact. On a rare occasion, Jason was patrolling outside of his territory ("cover for me, I have a date" my ass, Replacement), and he spotted something out of place. A neon green, almost toxic colored sign that read "Afterlife".
Honestly, who names a place like that? But judging by the placement and design, it was a bar, and Jason could almost appreciate the irony. Maybe it had a slogan along the lines of "our drinks will send you beyond the lines of life and death" or something. But at the same time, it could be interpreted as "alcohol can and will be the death of you," which, technically, is not the best PR campaign for a bar.
Jason decided to visit the place anyway. He was curious about the implied death joke, sue him.
Of course, he didn't visit immediately. He was still on patrol, and he just heard the sound of gunshots to the west. Not to say that the place was quiet.
(Oddly quiet for a bar in Gotham, now that he thinks about it)
Anyway, the next day, he went there not as Red Hood but as Jason Todd, an ordinary civilian who decided to grab a beer in the evening. Only to not find the place.
He couldn't have just miss it - he remembered the street, he knew the building, he was absolutely fucking sure where the "Afterlife" should have been. He searched the whole block nonetheless, and then proceeded to check the whole area, but to no avail.
Damn, it seems like he can't get to the afterlife both literally and- the other literally. Yeah, he might be having too much fun with the oddly chosen name for the nonexistent bar.
It didn't exist on the maps and internet either. At this point, Jason was contemplating the idea of it being a hallucination or a dream. He even checked the recording on his helmet from Wednesday night, but the whole time he was in the area, the video was filled with interference and static.
Weird. Slightly suspicious, but Red Robin, who's been patrolling the same area for weeks before him, never reported any interferences, so it probably had something to do with his helmet and not the area in general.
On Thursday night, he purposefully went there right after patrol. And the nonexistent bar suddenly existed again! The same neon green sign, the same quiet street around it.
Seriously, what is this mysterious fuckery?
Now, if he was a Bat, he would have reported this to others and investigated, lurked around in shadows, and approached with caution. If he was a Robin, he would have still reported and then straight up marched in there and saw how it goes.
Alas, he was Red Hood, so he decided to watch for the bar guests and see just who the hell goes in and out of the place.
And there was the next weird thing.
No one was going in or out. Jason sat there for a whole hour, and not even one person entered or left the building. Despite the muffled sounds of music, voices and laughter coming from the place.
The final kicker was the fact that after some careful questioning and dropping hints, Jason found out that no one except him ever saw the "Afterlife"'s sign. No one's even heard of it, both the Batclan and the Gothamites.
The fuck?
So he did the next logical thing. He brought the smartest member of the Bats with him. Tim owed him anyway. Might as well use it now instead of later.
Friday night proved two things: one, Tim was still his favorite to work with out of all the bats and birds, not questioning anything as to why Jason is asking him to check out a bar, and two, Jason just might be going insane.
Tim couldn't see the "Afterlife" even when Jason pointed at the sign from not further than ten feet. The irony of the stipid name was not even amusing anymore.
Tim didn't ask any questions after this experiment, and Jason didn't want to admit that he is losing the grip of reality, so they ended up simply parting their ways after. Can the Pits cause brain damage? More damage than there was in the first place, that is.
Now that he thinks about it, the color of the sign is really similar to the Lazarus waters. He should have noticed it sooner, but in his defense, who would look at the bubbling pool of toxic waters and think, "Oh, that would make a dope neon sign"? Apparently, the owner of the "Afterlife".
The color might be just a coincidence.
...no, in the world he lives in, coincidences like this just don't happen. Besides, Jason doesn't believe in shit like fate or destiny.
So, here he is, on Saturday night, standing in front of the door to the Afterlife. It would have been funny if it wasn't so weird. What's even more weird is that the closer he gets to the door, the less nervous he feels, like the place is radiating some calming aura. Wait, no, scratch that, Jason is so not calling it a calming aura for God's sake. That sounds just like those homemade witches with their crystals, tarot readings, and whatnot.
He's going to call it... tranquilizer vibes. Yeah, that's better.
He takes a deep breath, getting ready to see whatever it is on the other side, pushes the door open, and walks into the bar.
...
Whatever he's been expecting to see, it's not this.

a nonsense christmas / tyler owens x reader
summary: an unexpected snowstorm traps tyler owens with his workplace nemesis over the holidays. bonus points: there was only one bed.
content warnings: f!reader, allusions to smut
word count: 9k
author’s note: happy holidays! 🎄🎊🤶🏻🕎 i hope they were merry and bright and as stress-free as possible. thank you so much for supporting my three little fics. this is unedited, but i wanted to post it before i went out of town as a gift made specially for the glen girlies - i wrote it to bring you some december cheer. see you next year!
“You have got to be kidding me.”
Over the span of the last twelve hours you’d lost count of the number of times you’d muttered that sentence underneath your breath.
First, it was the office building in New York, where Tyler had the appointment right after yours at a ritzy funding agency. Then it was the airport, where you’d both flown standby and had a Wild West confrontation over the last seat on the plane, only for another passenger to volunteer their place in exchange for a travel voucher. (“It’s not like I’m in a rush to see my family, anyway.”) The woman manning the desk had given you both a look that said, “See, this is how an adult behaves,” which you thought was rich when the guy was clearly trying to cheat his way out of a Christmas dinner. Then, Tyler got assigned the seat behind you on the plane, and in keeping with his infuriating personality, spent the entire flight kicking your seat - or, I’m sorry, just trying to stretch his legs.
After landing, you’d raced to the same rental car company. The woman at this desk kept pointing out that the weather seemed dire and that a snowstorm might hit at any moment, to which you assured her that you weren't headed far—a lie—and glared at Tyler’s back before shuffling into the parking lot with your borrowed keys, hoping his heater would break or that an ex-girlfriend had broken into his house during his absence and left coal in his stocking.
It turned out that the woman at Enterprise was right. The weather was dire; your visibility was shot to hell after the first forty miles, leaving you to squint through the flurry-turned-blizzard, your knuckles white on the steering wheel as you inched forward in your seat, as though you could magically see through the storm if only you pressed your nose just so to the windshield.
After a while you gave up and started to admit that unless you wanted to turn into a human Popsicle, you might need a Plan B. You let out a weary sigh, listening to the weather report on the radio—“If you're safe and cozy at home, it's gonna be a white Christmas, folks, but if you're out on the road, I suggest taking cover and waiting it out for Santa Claus to slide down the chimney.”
You scanned the passing road signs for fast food restaurants, gas stations, and rest stops, even took a few exits just to be hit with NO VACANCY in bright neon reds, making mental calculations for the rest of your trip.
Home was still a long way off: three hours, after dark. Normally you’d power through with an extra-large coffee, but it was snowing, and your window to remain safely on the road was closing with every passing minute.
Dammit.
After the fourth failed attempt at finding lodgings, you sat in the driver’s seat with the heater on and called your sister.
She answered after a few rings. In the background you heard your nephew and nieces screaming their heads off in that kid way. God, you loved those little rugrats but they were undoubtedly a nightmare—you imagined Margo plugging up one of her ears and waving at them to be quiet. Of course, to no avail.
“Where are you?” she demanded, the accusation sharp in her voice. You knew to expect it, so instead of answering, “Well, hello to you too, I can’t control the weather, in case you haven’t noticed,” you went with a plain response, facts only.
“Somewhere in the middle of Benburg.”
“Where?”
“Exactly.”
You heard her sigh. “The snow’s getting pretty bad.”
“No shit.”
“Hey, don't ‘no shit’ me! I told you traveling right before Christmas Eve was going to be a nightmare.”
“And I told you I had no choice.”
She paused. There was whispering on the other end, an almost-silence that put your body on high alert until, finally, she said, “Mom wants to talk to you.”
“Margo, no!”
Your protests fell on deaf ears. The phone was jostled as your mother took it and began to speak.
“Honey, are you almost here?”
Covering your face with your hands, you kept your voice light, knowing she’d be able to detect even the smallest hint of frustration, and then you’d have to put up with another round of “why on earth did you take a meeting in New York right before the holidays?”
“No, mom, I’ve still got a-ways to go.”
You pictured her narrowing her eyes, maybe placing a hand on her cocked hip.
“How long a-ways?”
“Less than two hours,” you lied.
It was absolutely more than two hours.
A pause. “Well, I guess that's okay.”
“I’m glad you think so.” Through gritted teeth and the voice of a demented schoolteacher, you added, “Mom, can you put Margo back on the phone now, please?”
“She wants to talk to you,” you heard her saying from a distance.
After some more jostling, you felt the caller change as you merged back onto the highway and left the motel behind.
“Marg, can you tell her to cut me some slack, please? I’m doing my best.”
“Ha!”
You glared at the console, hoping she could feel it over the phone.
“Gee, thanks! So much for the Christmas spirit!”
“Listen, when you have three kids, two dogs, a husband, all of your in-laws, your parents, and your stepmom breathing down your neck, I’ll have a little more sympathy.”
“Fine… But I promise I’m not leaving you in the lurch on purpose. My flight from New York got delayed, I had some asshole kicking me in the kidneys the whole time, and I can barely see a yard in front of me because of this storm—it’s not exactly a walk in the park for me either.”
No cigar; it was you who felt her glare over the phone this time. Clearly, her issues outweighed all of yours on this occasion, and knowing her sister-in-law, you were inclined to agree.
You added: “I’ll make it up to you.”
“You’d better.”
The wipers on your rented car worked overtime to clear your windshield. You were about to end the call to focus on driving when, up ahead, you saw the red and blue lights of a highway patrol vehicle stopping traffic.
“Oh shit,” you muttered under your breath.
“What?”
“The road is closed.”
“The whole road?”
“Yeah, Marg, the whole road.” She would've argued with you over your tone, except you cut her off with “Hold on—I’m being flagged down.”
A middle-aged man with a mustache came over to your car. He was wearing a fuzzy hat and holding a flashlight now that the purpling sky was fading to black. Without being asked, you lowered your window and shivered at the stream of icy wind that cut through the artificial heat.
“Evening, officer.”
“Good evening. Where’re you headed?”
“Sayre or roundabouts.”
“Rough night to be doing so. This road is no good, you're gonna have to turn around, find a place to wait it out for the night.”
Your heart sank. You knew Margo was listening to everything. By the time you made it home, your ledger would have a massive list in the red which she’d make you pay off somehow—by doing the dishes, playing horse with the kids, or worse, entertaining Kayleen, who would say as she always did that you really ought think about having children soon unless you wanted to get used to “a self-absorbed lifestyle.”
God forbid.
“Do you know anywhere that might have a last-minute vacancy?” you asked the officer, whose shiny name tag read HARRIS.
He scratched behind his ear, twisting his mouth in thought.
“Try the Sunnyside Inn. Back this way to Fairmont, right after the exit, left on Vail.”
“Thank you.”
“Merry Christmas.”
“Right. Merry Christmas.”
You put your window back up.
“Did you catch that?”
“Sounds like you're grounded,” said Margo. Her eyebrow must be arched because the judgment could be heard loud and clear—if you hadn’t gone to New York…
Well, there was nothing you could do about it now.
“It’s meant to clear up by morning. I’ll still be there long before Christmas.”
“You’d better be.” She sighed.
Your niece Haley was screaming out the words to “The Twelve Days of Christmas” like a possessed banshee and giggling at what she knew must be an ear-splitting performance. You didn't know whether to be more horrified or amused; you remembered doing something similar when you were a child, back when you didn't have to worry about spreadsheets and grants and the trials and tribulations of flying Economy during the worst time of the year.
Margo must be thinking the same. Her tone sounded a little more sympathetic when she said, “Drive safe, and let me know when you find somewhere to spend the night.”
“I will. Love you.”
“Love you, too. Don’t get murdered.”
“I’ll try.”
“Don’t try—do. Someone’s got to help me defuse the tension during Christmas dinner.”
“Me? Defuse tension?”
“Good point.”
After hanging up, you followed Officer Harris’s directions to the Sunnyside Inn. Wherever it was in relation to the highway, there weren’t any signs you could see from the road and it reminded you of a famous, albeit fictional, location where people did go to end up murdered.
You only hoped whoever was on duty at the check-in desk had zero resemblance to Norman Bates or you’d have no choice but to sleep in your car.
Ten minutes later, you arrived at a quaint little building like something out of a Hallmark movie with six parking spaces and no neon out front. The facade was fake stone, the ornamental bushes lining the circular drive covered in a postcard layer of fresh snow. The wooden sign read VACANCY and had an empty slot where the NO might go, which gave you the tiniest sliver of hope, tempered by the thought that a place like this might not pay the utmost attention to a detail like that, especially in the middle of a storm. All in all, it was the sort of place you stayed at when you had no choice, being off the beaten track, but it looked as well maintained as it could be given its age, which you dated back to the 70s because of its slanted roof.
You parked and got your suitcase out of the trunk, the wheels clattering and then coming to an abrupt stop when you saw a figure across the way doing the same with his black carry-on.
“You have got to be kidding me,” you called out.
Tyler Owens grinned. Even from here you could see the dimple on his cheek.
“Road closed?” he asked, still walking towards the entrance. You did the same, glaring as you tried to keep pace with him—no, tried to beat him to the front door.
“You know it is,” you answered, eyes narrowed, dashing the rest of the way just for his hand to reach the metal pull bar first. Damn his longer limbs.
With a smile, he opened the door and waved you through like a Manhattan doorman.
“Ladies first.”
“Wow, I didn't think you were remotely a gentleman.”
“What gave you that impression?”
You brushed past him into the heated lobby, pausing long enough for him to close the door so you could send him a pointed look.
“Oh, I don’t know… maybe your knee on my back?” you enunciated.
“I told you—that was an honest mistake.”
“Right.”
The Sunnyside had a single check-in desk that looked more like the host’s stand at your favorite restaurant than the counter at the cheapest Marriott, but it was decked in cute bells and garlands and baubles that glittered in the light. Behind it stood a woman around your age with straight, shoulder-length hair partially covered by a Santa hat.
As soon as she saw you walking in, she pushed the red strands out of her face and cleared her throat visibly before launching into a practiced spiel.
“Welcome to the Sunnyside Inn, where every day is sunny!”
She was smiling from ear to ear. The effect was a little like that of the creepy twins in The Shining and bah, humbug, were you not in the mood.
“Can I have a room for the night, please?”
You were made to feel guilty by the sudden fall of her face. But clearly Carol—you had to do a double take. Was her name really Carol? At-Christmastime Carol?—had gone to one hell of a customer service training program. Instead of letting your frown turn her smile upside down, she tacked it on with impressively greater fervor. The bell at the end of her hat rattled as she cleared her throat again.
“You’re in luck! We have one vacant room left in the entire hotel—continental breakfast included!”
“I’m sorry,” Tyler butted in, “did you say only one room?”
“Yes, er…” She looked between you, biting her glossed lip. “Is that a problem?”
“We’re not together,” you said, refusing to look in Tyler’s direction.
Carol blushed. She was so pale that you thought it might be her actual blood you were seeing rising to her face and turning a shade of Veruca Salt. Or was it Violet Beauregarde?
“Oh!” she exclaimed. “I thought—well… you arrived together.”
“We arrived separately.”
“That’s not what it looked like.”
She blinked owlishly. Your own face was heating up as you felt Tyler putting his hand on his hip and sending you a shit-eating grin. You wouldn’t hear the end of this. You could practically hear him bringing it up at a later date, saying, “You’d be so lucky.”
You felt your jaw lock and your dentist cry. Lips together, teeth apart! She’d obviously never met anyone like Tyler Owens before.
“I can assure you, that's what it is,” you said in a steel-laced voice.
Carol might be an A+ at the customer service thing, but you were an A+ at staring people down until they begged for mercy. The only person you knew who was better at it was Margo, and the only person immune to it—though it drove you crazy to no end—was standing next to you, all six feet of him, in a jacket with snow at the shoulders that had quickly melted and rolled off the fabric. Shoulders… his annoyingly broad shoulders, which you’d had occasion to see with more frequency than you would’ve liked, dressed in what Samantha, one of your colleagues, described as his “slutty little white tees.”
It wasn’t enough for him to be a perpetual thorn in your side, he had to be attractive too, thereby proving that there was no God or that, Whoever they were, they must have an evil sense of humor.
“I’m so sorry.” Carol hung her head. Her hat drooped, the glitter-paper trimming on her suit drooped—there was a high chance that she was actually an elf and you’d just worked your way onto Santa’s Naughty list. Come midnight, you’d be visited by the ghosts of all your ex-lovers and Sarah DeAngelo, your high school nemesis.
Meanwhile, Tyler swooped in like the big hero.
“No worries, I’ll just stay at the next place,” he said. “What is the next place?”
“That would be the Cozy Roadside! But they're all booked up, I’m afraid… It's the storm, you see. Everyone’s trying to hunker down for the night.”
“Right…”
Well, he was taking it better than you’d have done—though it was clear he wasn’t jumping for joy at the thought of turning around and trying his luck in the growing whiteout.
And that was if there weren't more road closures along the way.
“Are you sure you're not together? I’m just saying… it is the holidays.” Carol’s little damn bell jingled again. Could you be charged with assault if you snatched it off her head? you wondered.
You pinned her with a stare and she had the temerity to flinch like a little cartoon dormouse.
“Meaning…?”
“Meaning, it's a time to let bygones be bygones! You make such a lovely couple…” Her laugh was high-pitched, nervous.
You might have ruffled like an angry bird of prey. “We are not—”
“Absolutely not,” said Tyler.
“‘Absolutely’?”
It was the closest you’d ever come to seeing Tyler crack under the force of your EF5 stare. He looked sheepish, his hands in his pockets, giving a little hunkered down shrug that might have been read as boyish and kind of adorable to someone else.
“Listen”—turning to Carol before you could rip him to shreds—“do you know of anywhere I could stay until the roads open up again?”
“I’m sorry, no.”
“What about the lobby?”
“I would if it were up to me, but it's against hotel policy. I could get a write-up.”
This hotel has a policy? You stopped yourself from blurting out the words. There was still a chance this Strawberry Shortcake of a person was one of Santa’s little helpers and, if you kept up being a meanie, you’d end up going to the Bad Place—the Bad Place being the seat next to Margo’s sister-in-law at dinner.
You sighed. “Does my room have a couch?”
“It has a chair,” Carol offered.
You exhaled through your nostrils like an angry bull—would the creature metaphors ever cease? Turning to Tyler, you held up a finger and said, “You’re gonna owe me big time,” and fished your wallet out of your bag.
You slammed your card onto the stand and waited for Carol to check you in. She took out a book from a little cubby and took down your name and ID number, then fiddled with one of those old-school credit card imprinters, the ones you had to use actual elbow grease to use.
“I can have extra linens sent up! And I’ll give you our Friends and Family rate—in honor of the season!”
You have got to be kidding me…
Tyler put his hand on your elbow, stopping your words.
“Thank you, Carol, you've been a real gem.”
Carol flushed again, preening under Tyler’s cowboy charm. I’m gonna be sick, you thought, grabbing your suitcase by the handle and wheeling towards the stairs before you could say anything else.
Your case banged against each carpet-covered step. Tyler was behind you, carrying his without sounds of trouble. You supposed that was a benefit to having arms the size of tree trunks, but you’d rather drop dead on this commercial grade floor than ask him for help.
To drown out the sound of the obvious weakness in your upper half, you adopted a high-pitched baby voice that was nothing like Tyler’s and said, “‘You’ve been a gem, Carol,’” just to mock him.
From Tyler came a huffed-out laugh. “Why, ’re you jealous?”
“As if. I hope your chair has bedbugs,” you called over your shoulder, arriving at the landing and looking for room 227. You unlocked the door without waiting, tossing your bag and coat onto the bed to stake your claim.
In the open doorway, Tyler paused to stare at the promised bit of furniture.
“Oh,” came out of his throat. “When she said chair, I thought she meant…”
You followed his gaze. Like Tyler, you’d pictured a dusty old recliner when Carol guilted you into sharing a room with him. The relic actually taking up space across from the queen-sized bed was a chair that might have come out of your high school principal’s office. The seat was covered in a similar material to the carpet, deep purple, not falling apart at the seams, but still just a chair.
Not in your wildest dreams would you think of making an enemy sleep on a thing like that. And here you were, poking fun at sweet, freckle-faced Carol… sweet, sweet Carol who had done you a bigger solid than you could’ve ever imagined.
Tomorrow at check-out, you were going to leave her a $50 tip. You might name your firstborn after her.
You looked at Tyler. He looked at you. The poor man was aghast, and the more he glanced despondently at his abode for the next eight hours, the funnier it got until you were cackling, actually cackling like a Disney witch.
You unzipped your suitcase and took out your toiletries bag, still laughing as you stepped into the room’s bathroom and sent him a little wave.
“Sweet dreams, Owens!”
Hell, it was Christmas—you’d be leaving Carol an even $100.
-
You made a point of taking your time in the shower, luxuriating both in the steam and the dejected look on Tyler’s face. A chair! An actual chair! After finishing, you took the robe hanging off the hook, figuring it was your prerogative as a lady, and opened the door just the tiniest crack to see what Tyler was up to. What you saw made you snatch your phone off the counter and leap from your hiding place like a fearless war photographer.
The shutter clicked, a series of lightning-quick flashes that caught Tyler’s attention. By the time he whipped his head to the side with a glare and a command to “delete that!” you’d snapped half-a-dozen photographs of his position on the makeshift “bed.”
Carol must have sent up linens while you were in the shower because he’d pushed the chair up against the coffee table in a futile attempt to be more comfortable; his legs stuck out to a truly comical degree and he was covered in a floral blanket that could only be described as grandmotherly. Your phone—bless it—had captured the exact moment of shock mixed with absolute indignity.
There was no way he’d be able to sleep without falling over. You only hoped that when he inevitably fell on his ass it happened with enough volume to wake you from the sound sleep you’d be having in bed by yourself.
You tucked your phone in your pocket, smiling like one of Hell’s angels.
“Absolutely not,” you said to his request. “Shower's yours.”
Tyler grabbed a bundle of things off the floor.
“Let me guess, you used up all the hot water.”
“You wound me,” you lied. “I’d never be so petty.”
He scoffed, gestured to his eyes in the universal symbol of I’m watching you and moved past, locking the bathroom door with a resolute click.
A few moments later, you heard the sound of the shower turning on and settled into bed—your lovely, only-yours bed—pleased that the sheets were clean, the mattress soft, the pillows comfortable, and debated whether or not to turn on the TV, but the shower taps squealed sooner than you expected.
Huh. Guess Tyler isn’t a fan of an ice-cold rinse.
You rushed to turn off the bedside lamp, adopting a deep-sleep pose. You barely managed in the time it took him to pad out into the main room, bringing with him a warm, clean, soapy smell.
You held your breath, imagined he could tell you were faking—especially when he paused his movements at the foot of your bed. But then his footsteps moved towards his sad little chair and he turned off his own light.
All you heard for a while was the rustling of sheets, the creaking of the chair beneath his weight. There was a moment of total silence when you almost fell asleep. Then he tossed and turned. The chair protested. You heard him groan.
“Y’alright over there?” you asked, hoping the answer was no.
Tyler’s words were laced with sarcasm.
“Who, me? Just peachy.”
“Nighty-night, then.”
You sighed contentedly and dozed, thinking about Tyler’s future back pain and the satisfaction of winning Carol over to your side with a generous tip. Take that, Tyler’s dimples! The problem was, you actually wanted to get a few hours’ sleep; there was still a fair bit of driving left for you to do, and Tyler just wouldn't shut up.
You heard every creak, shift, and sound of frustration.
Finally, you sat up and growled, “Could you try being more quietly uncomfortable?”
“Hey, I’m just trying to sleep.”
“I can hear your breathing all the way over here!”
“That's not my breathing,” he said, “that’s your guilty conscience.”
You glared into the dark. I will not let him get the better of me. You took a fortifying breath and kept your voice light—viciously light.
“You know, there’s still time for you to sleep in your car. You’ll be the first person ever to be cryogenically frozen.”
“That's not how cryogenics works, you muppet.”
You launched a pillow in his direction, pleased when it made contact. He sat up and protested, “Hey!”
“Did you just call me a muppet?! You know, if you disappeared I could always blame the storm.”
“Carol would remember me,” he rejoined.
“Maybe I’ll disappear Carol too.”
“Wow, two bodies? Sounds like you'll have your work cut out for you.”
“I’m very resourceful.”
“Oh, I bet you are…”
Argh! Slamming your fists down, you ground out the words you’d been holding back ever since you saw his grinning rodeo-ass face in New York:
“There is no way I’m letting you win that Heller Grant!”
Your nostrils flared, chest heaved, eyes all but emitted laser beams. Tyler, for his part, remained annoyingly composed.
“I don't think that's up to you. But,” he added, “I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.”
“Really? And why’s that?”
“No reason, just a friendly head’s up.”
“Something tells me there’s nothing friendly about it.”
He paused. “Hey, what’s a little harmless competition between meteorologists, right?”
“…Did you really just ask that question?”
You both knew scientists were messy as fuck. Denying that they could be egotistical, overly dramatic, delicate with their egos, and especially prone to schadenfreude was a cheap attempt on Tyler’s part.
He chuckled, as if admitting it was true.
“Fine, touché. But it’s really not personal. It's a grant—everyone wants to win it. It’s not like we’re trying to run you out of business or anything.”
“Oh, believe me, we aren’t worried about that,” you shot back. “Everyone knows Kate Carter is the ace up your sleeve. But that’s it—one ace.”
“One ace is all you need.”
“Not in this economy it’s not.”
“It’s about the storms!” Tyler said. “You do get that, don't you? Saving lives, limiting damage…”
“Right, I forgot—you're Saint Tyler, the Tornado Wrangler for profit!” you mocked.
There was a silence in the room, accusatory. Deafening. After this, you were definitely going on Santa’s Naughty list, you thought, not only this year but for at least fifteen to life.
“Sorry, that was shitty,” you admitted, swallowing your pride.
“Yeah, it was. You have no idea why I do what I do. And obviously I have no idea why you’re such a—”
“Bitch?” you supplied.
“I wouldn't use that word. I wouldn't,” he reiterated seriously. “I was going to say ‘why you’re such a bee in my bonnet.’”
You let out a snort. “Shut up.”
“Has anyone ever told you you're unreasonably distrustful?”
“Only about three-point-five therapists.”
“Why the point-five?” he asked.
“One was a grad student.”
He laughed. “Guess weather research doesn’t pay—even if you do wear fancy suits.”
That made you smile. You and Tyler were as diametrically opposed as two could people get, even down to your clothes.
“Let’s just agree,” you said, remembering the spirit of the season, “that we rub each other the wrong way and leave it at that.”
“Hey, I’ve never had a problem with you. I mean, yeah, we’re always up against each other for funding. It’s a race to the top—winner takes all, whoever publishes first gets the bragging rights. But that’s the game—I know that. Now, if you have a problem with me, this seems like as good a time as any to clear the air because I really have no idea what I could've done to make you hate my guts like this.”
You rolled your eyes.
“Oh, sure, be the mature one, take the high road… Tell me, Owens, does it ever get exhausting being so fucking perfect all the time?”
Another pause.
“What the hell are you going on about?” The chair creaked. “‘Perfect’? I’ve never said I was—FUCK!”
You perked up, reached an arm to turn on the light. Tyler was sprawled on the floor. The coffee table and chair were no longer attached and he was nursing what looked to be his hip while kicking at the granny blanket tangled round legs.
“Did you just fall into the gap?” you said eagerly, trying to record the image in your brain.
He wrestled the blanket until he finally won, then stood resentfully, his hair mussed, a crazed look in his eyes.
“Yes, I fell into the gap! But there was no video evidence,” he said pointing. “You can’t prove it. At this rate, it might be smarter to sleep on the floor.”
“Looks like it.”
You watched him kick the chair away with his foot and lay the blanket on top of the coarse brown carpet. He tossed his pillow down and picked up the sheet, holding it in front of his body and looking like he might actually prefer to try his luck in the parking lot than on the inhospitable floor. You observed him with interest, biting your thumbnail and watching his throat move with a sigh, the dejected set of his shoulders, the strong jaw set until it looked like it would break glass.
“Oh, fine!” you said. “You look like my senior dog trying to decide where to lay down!”
“You have a dog?” he asked with enough skepticism to be insulting.
“She lives with my sister.”
“What’s her name?” His jaw relaxed, eyes softened.
“Doppler. Don’t laugh!” you exclaimed, though it fell on deaf ears.
“That’s kind of… really nerdy.”
“Do you want to sleep on the floor?”
“I’m sleeping on the floor anyway.”
You whipped the covers off the left side of the bed. Tyler’s eyes almost bugged out of his head.
“No.”
“Come on, Owens, I don't have cooties.”
“It’s not about the cooties, I’m trying not to get killed Basic Instinct-style!”
You knew the scene: Sharon Stone fucking her rock star boyfriend before stabbing him to death with an ice pick. Unbidden, your mind filled with images of Tyler underneath you, his throat bared to you as you rode him.
“You wish!”
Tyler looked at you sternly.
“That’s not what I meant.”
“We’ll make a divider out of pillows!” you suggested, starting the master feat of engineering by plopping all your extra ones vertically down the center of the bed.
You didn’t know where this sudden stroke of generosity had come from. Only ten minutes before you would’ve been perfectly fine—nay, ecstatic—to know that Tyler was about to spend six hours in pain and discomfort.
Maybe it was your guilty conscience. Maybe he’d convinced you that this vendetta you had against him was one-sided and kind of silly. Maybe you just wanted to get some damn sleep without feeling like you were racking up bad karma by not offering to share the bed.
He eyed your attempts like a skeptic, his hands on his hips.
Damn, they were slutty little white tees… you thought.
“This is ridiculous,” he pointed out. And yet he’d dropped the sheet and stopped all attempts at sleeping on the floor like an imprisoned martyr.
“Ridiculous” was a good way to describe what the start of this holiday was turning out to be. If you’d told your past self that come December 23rd you’d be sharing a hotel room, even a bed, with Tyler Owens, you’d have laughed in your own face. But here it was—courtesy of the weather, a possible redheaded Christmas elf, and a series of minor coincidences that had all resulted in this: you shrugging and saying, “Tell me something I don’t know. Tick-tock,” you added with a clap for emphasis, “my goodwill has a time limit!”
“Very festive of you. Are you sure this is okay?”
He approached you with a cautious air, turning down the covers like you might yell “psych!” and attack him at any moment. Even when he laid himself down, it was at the very edge of the bed, and you thought he might end up on the floor anyway given a hasty mid-sleep roll, but then, that would be his own doing and he’d have nothing else to blame but his own clumsiness.
“Just keep your hands to yourself,” you decreed.
“Obviously.”
You turned the light off.
This isn’t so bad, you thought. If you closed your eyes, you could almost forget he was there. You hummed to yourself, snuggling down, finally making headway on the quest for rest and relaxation. Twenty minutes passed, maybe an hour. Hell, it might have been two—all you knew was that Tyler was not keeping up his end of the bargain.
“You’re encroaching on my space!” you hissed, pushing back against pillows that had moved to your side of the bed.
Tyler turned, not remorseful in the least. “I’ve got, like, half-a-foot on you! What do you want me to do?”
“That’s sizeist,” you sniffed.
There was a sound from his direction.
“Are you laughing?” you accused.
“Yeah, I’m laughing… You’re funny. And that’s how I know I don’t have a problem with you.”
You were unexpectedly pleased, despite his bed theft and the rehashing of your previous conversation. No one had ever called you funny before, though you’d always thought you were.
Tyler Owens thinks I’m funny?
So sue me—you were only human and not above hoarding little compliments.
“What did you mean,” he started to ask, shifting so that he could lay on his back, “about me being ‘perfect’? Not that I don’t find it flattering, it's just not true at all and it didn't sound like a good thing, by the way that you said it.”
You kept silent, staring at the A/C unit attached to the wall.
“I know you’re not asleep!” he declared, poking you in the back.
“And how would you know what I sound like asleep?”
“Well, it wouldn't sound like speaking, now would it?”
Shit. He had a point.
You let out a sigh, regretting your magnanimity now that you were in a dark room side-by-side with the man and couldn't avoid his charm or the ease he inspired like magic.
You’d always found that the most unsettling thing about him.
“You’re gonna get the grant,” you admitted with more sincerity than you meant. In your voice you could hear the layers of frustration and insecurity and anger and disappointment that you couldn’t face in the day, when you had people counting on you and a reputation to uphold.
Tyler was quiet a moment.
“You don't know that.”
“Yeah, I do. I’m not good with the whole… schmoozing thing. Not like you are.”
“Schmoozing?” he asked.
“That’s what it is! You’re good with people.”
“So are you.”
“No, Im not,” you laughed bitterly, craning your neck to say it over your shoulder. “I’m prickly.”
“That’s bullshit,” Tyler said. “And, anyway, this is research, not a personality contest.”
“Ha!”
“You do know there are plenty of prickly scientists out there getting people to throw money at them all the time? Sometimes, it’s the pricklier the better—people think that if you're really a genius, you should treat everyone around you like the bottom of the garbage pail.”
“It’s different for you,” you pointed out.
“How so?”
You sat up, eyeing his shadowed form.
“Well, sweetie, there’s this thing called discrimination—it’s what happens when having certain anatomy makes people more inclined to think you know what you're doing.”
“Very profound… That’s not what you meant.”
He was right. While sexism did come into funding, as it came into a lot of things where it had no place, your main gripe about Tyler had nothing to do with him being a man and everything to do with him being, well, him.
You raked a hand through your hair.
“All you have to do is walk into a room and get pally with the panel,” you confessed. “I can’t compete with that.”
Somehow, through the dark, his eyes found yours. His expression was unreadable, but you could feel his attention on you, his scrutiny—thoughtful, patient, wanting to understand.
“I don’t know what to say,” he said at last.
“Seriously? You’re gonna make me be honest with you and then leave me holding the hot potato of awkwardness?”
“I’m not doing it on purpose,” he laughed. “I just… It’s not like I get up in the morning thinking, ‘Hm, what grant can I possibly steal from you today?’”
“Right,” you drawled, “you just can’t help being you.”
“I can’t!” he insisted, rising up on his elbows. “I like people. I like meeting them… talking to them—even the buttoned-up ones that look like they haven't been outside of an office building in months. I can't apologize for that. But it is a little unfair of you if your sole reason for being mean to me all the time amounts to two cents and a bit of pocket lint.”
“I am not mean!” you protested.
Tyler cocked his head.
“Okay, maybe I’m a bit brusque,” you allowed. “But I let you sleep in my bed!”
“For which I’ll be forever grateful…”
You opened your mouth.
“…but not enough to turn down the grant.”
You shrugged, not expecting him to hand you the award on a silver platter.
“It was worth a shot,” you said. Another joke.
Tyler gestured with his hands; you could see them fluttering around expressively in the near dark.
“You’ve just gotta stop approaching people and automatically assuming that they’re not on your side,” he said gently, and because you were a contrarian, you chose to take at least one-sixteenth of offense.
“Are you mansplaining relationships to me?”
“Not mansplaining, just a friendly bit of advice. Take it or leave it,” he tacked on, shrugging his shoulders—damn his shoulders…
“Thanks.”
You were trying to wrestle your brain away from the thought of his bare chest again.
His bare chest… the expanse of his chiseled abs, the dip of his hips…
You looked away, your face as hot as your shame. You would not have sex thoughts about a man you were sharing a bed platonically with. You would not admit to yourself that your traitorous gaze had wandered down to the outline of certain parts while he was standing there in gray sweats and a white T-shirt that left little or nothing to your debauched imagination.
You would not.
You would not.
Santa, come get me before I forfeit all brownie points for life.
“Now this is awkward.” The words slipped out of your mouth. You pulled the sheet up to your chin as if it were a straitjacket and Tyler chuckled to himself, probably thinking that you meant awkwardness at having a moment of vulnerability rather than red-hot lust.
“Go to sleep,” he said kindly, turning back on his left side.
“Alright. Night.”
“Night.”
-
Later, you would swear it didn't happen on purpose. At some point in the night, after Christmas Eve had settled well and truly over this random Oklahoma town, the pillow fort was forgotten as you and Tyler fell asleep, succumbing to the fatigue of the day’s travel and your late-night conversations.
The first inkling you had was that your pillow was far too warm against your cheek—and it moved, up and down, like the gentle swaying of a boat upon a calm sea. When you regained enough consciousness, you realized that the “pillow” kept a beat, and that's when you realized your pillow wasn't a pillow at all but the cradle of Tyler’s chest.
He’s quite comfortable, you thought, still half-asleep. He had his arm thrown around you and the tips of his fingers rested against a patch of naked back where your shirt had ridden up.
So far, so good; you couldn’t complain about the weighted blanket treatment—at least not in your hazy, sleep-softened state. You sighed happily, snuggling further into his shirt.
You felt his arms tighten.
His breathing shift.
You were straddling the line between dream and wakefulness when you noticed his legs tangled up in yours…
…and the hard protrusion pressing right against your stomach.
You opened your eyes. Tyler was awake and springing out of bed like he had a whole swarm of bees in his bonnet.
“Oh god,” he exclaimed, “I am so sorry! That is not… I did not—”
“It’s fine,” you tried to say.
“No! No, it’s not.”
“Tyler, would you stop acting like a virgin with the vapors? It’s cold, I’m not the stillest of sleepers, nothing was meant by it.”
He ran a hand through his hair, then put it on his hip, then pointed—you didn’t know at whom, he was simply unable to be still, and the more he panicked the more you thought it was silly how he was making such a big deal out of nothing.
(Okay, so maybe it wasn't nothing, but one of you had to be the adult about it.)
“I was not trying to put the moves on you,” he emphatically declared.
“That was made abundantly clear by what you said to Carol. Also by the drool on your pillow.”
“The—”
His gaze darted. His face took on an added hue of pallid as he bent over his pillow and straightened, eyebrows battened, finding nothing there.
“See, that was mean.”
“No, that was funny,” you laughed.
The whole time, you did your best to keep your eyes trained above his shoulders, though you had a bone-deep curiosity now that you’d felt the impression of his dick against your skin.
If your periphery was to be trusted—which, your doctor said you had excellent vision in that regard—he was as well-endowed as he was rumored to be, sometimes with envy, sometimes pejoratively and in relation to his ego. Now that you’d spent an entire day crossing paths, you weren't so sure about that last bit. But you were sure that in the privacy of your own thoughts, you’d have a bitch of a time unknowing that Tyler Owens was, in every regard, unfairly blessed.
“Back to neutral corners?” you asked, patting the bed.
Tyler stared at the mattress with something like horror.
“You are not being normal about this!” you exclaimed.
“Maybe I oughta sleep on the floor.”
“Seriously?”
“Yeah, it’s just for a few hours more.”
You sighed.
“Tyler James Owens, now you are the one being a muppet.”
“Take that back! And how do you even know my middle name?”
“It’s called Google. Now stop acting like a muppet and I’ll stop calling you one!”
Drat… You were so close, but your eyes snagged on the bulge in his pants at the exact moment Tyler was looking at you. There was no way to deny it.
You wiped your face of all expression.
Tyler pleaded, “Do not make this worse for me than it already is.”
“I didn’t say anything!”
“You don’t have to, it's written all over your face.”
Me? My face? You pointed at yourself.
Tyler huffed, “You aren't letting me forget this for as long as I live, are you?”
“Not in your dreams…” you fessed up. “Need me to pace around the hall for ten minutes, let you take care of business? I have a spare sock you can hang on the door.”
“You’re evil.”
“Nooooo, where are you going?” you needled, watching him head to the bathroom with a scowl on his face. “I was having so much fun!”
“Mind your own business!” he yelled back.
“But Tyler, it’s perfectly natural!”
He locked the door.
Only then did you cover your mouth and really let yourself have a laugh.
-
He took exactly 23 minutes. You knew because you timed him, a childish impulse you indulged in trade for not probing the question of what he might be thinking about as he got off. Obviously, you knew enough biology to not flatter yourself into believing that his morning wood was down to you; still, you allowed yourself to believe it just the tiniest bit. It made you feel better—to think he was affected by you. To believe you weren’t alone in being provoked to unexpected places.
He came up to the bed with a wary glance. On purpose, you pretended to be uncommonly interested in your nails.
“I thought you’d be asleep.”
“Didn’t feel like it,” you said, buffing a nonexistent spot on your shirt. “All good?”
“Don’t start.” He took his pillow and made for the chair.
You clicked your tongue. “You really don't have to sleep on the floor, you know…”
Which was kind.
“...I thought that was the whole point of Tyler’s Special Solo Time.”
Which wasn’t.
He rounded on you with his finger outstretched.
“Do not call it that!”
“Okay!”
“Never again!”
“Fine!”
“And for your information—that isn’t what I was doing in there.”
“Oh!” you said, genuinely surprised, “I just assumed…”
“Well, you know what they say about assuming.”
You make an ASS out of U and ME.
Color me surprised—you genuinely thought Tyler had been in the bathroom rubbing one out.
Could it be that he was too much of a gentleman to do it with you the next room over? That seemed like the likeliest explanation.
You were touched. Weirdly, inappropriately.
Also let down by the fact that you weren’t sexually irresistible enough to make him lose all sense of propriety—granted, you hadn’t been trying to be sexually irresistible at the time, more like drooling into his shirt.
“God, what?” he asked, eyes boring into yours like he was trying to crack open your mind and read it like a book, pushed to the brink when he couldn’t figure out what you were thinking or if you believed him about not masturbating in the bathroom.
“Nothing! Why are you chewing me out just because you got an erection?”
“Don’t say ‘erection’!”
You rolled your eyes.
“I’m not gonna call it a boner—I’m not in middle school anymore!”
“You have gotta be kidding me…”
He face-planted onto the bed, not consciously, you didn’t think, more like the natural result of a situation that’d understandably fried his brain.
You could relate… and it was supremely satisfying to hear him say the words you’d been thinking for over a day: you have got to be kidding me, indeed.
“This is the weirdest fucking Christmas I have ever had,” he mumbled into the mattress.
You laughed, feeling not an ounce of animosity as you watched his prone form. He was funny, and he’d been nicer than you deserved. You no longer believed that he had kicked you in the back during your flight on purpose.
“What are your plans for the holidays?” you asked him, letting him off the hook about his penis.
He turned his head and searched you for any trace of nefarious intent. He answered when he was sure you weren’t going to keep messing with him.
“The team and I are going to Kate’s. Then I’m spending the start of the New Year at home, hopefully, if there isn’t another fire to put out.”
“You’re from Arkansas,” you said.
“Mm.”
“‘Regnat populus.’”
He quirked his brow.
“‘The People Rule,’” you explained. “You don't know your own state’s motto?”
“Nobody knows their state’s motto.”
“I had to learn them all for school.”
“High school?”
“Elementary.”
“Oh,” he laughed, “so you grew up rich.”
“Shut up.”
He sat against the headboard next to you, crossing his ankles.
“What made you want to become a meteorologist?”
“Seriously?” you asked.
“What?”
“It’s a cliched question.”
“It’s a getting-to-know-you question!”
You frowned.
“Why would you ever want to get to know me? I’ve done nothing but fight you since the day we met.”
“Why wouldn't I?”
Plain, simple.
The lamplight made it impossible to hide a thing. There was a line between his brows, as if he couldn’t for the life of him understand why you couldn’t understand. “I like people.” You’d thought it trite at the time, you didn’t trust it, but you were thinking maybe it was true. Instead of judging you by the way you challenged, harangued, goaded, mocked, judging him, he’d kept trying to figure you out. It was one of the reasons he was good at his job—the merging of both science- and people-smarts.
If you had a brain in your head, you might learn from him. But to do that you’d have to get your head out of your ass and stop seeing him as the enemy.
Except you didn’t.
Sometime between the Heller offices and this moment in the Sunnyside Inn, your feelings towards him had changed. The animosity? Gone. All that was left in its place was a newfound respect, fresh like the layer of snow sitting over the world outside the walls of your hotel room, and, if you were being brutally honest, an attraction that was hard to ignore.
You held your breath.
His hair, glinting bronze, was sleep-mussed—the detail intimate, arousing, just like the stubble on his cheeks and the rugged line of his throat leading to the curves of those shoulders you couldn’t stop thinking about. What was that one corny-as-fuck phrase some fuckboy musician had once said?
Sexual napalm.
Tyler Owens was sexual napalm and you weren’t immune.
“Stop looking at me like that,” you said.
It was Projection 101, but in this case you weren’t entirely wrong.
Tyler’s eyes wandered down to your mouth, seductive without even trying. He was breathing as fast as you, his lips parted, tongue peeking out to wet them when he said, “Can’t.”
And that was all it took. One second you were staring at each other with twin fuck-me expressions and the next you were in his lap, your hands buried in his hair. The kiss was eager—messy—uncaring of finesse, indifferent to perfection. It was the exact opposite of the way you’d been living your life and it was mostly down to him. Even when he’d been driving you absolutely insane, there was no denying that Tyler brought out in you something hard to control. He made you ambitious, competitive, unfiltered—sometimes to an unflattering degree—but God, did it feel good.
He tilted his head and delved his tongue into your mouth. You groaned, pulled him back by the hair until you felt a rumbling sound in his throat which you decided to chase on instinct, latching your mouth onto that part of him you’d been obsessing over for the last few hours, sucking, biting, laving your way down to his clavicle.
“This is not how you get to know someone,” you joked, feeling him get hard again underneath you.
“Yeah, it is…”
“Don’t say 'biblically.’”
He laughed—it was a giggle that made you smile and peer into his face.
“You said it, not me. Are you gonna kick me out of bed later?” he asked, stroking a hand up your thigh.
“No. Are you gonna run for the hills like I soiled your virtue?”
He balked. “That is not what I did.”
“Yeah, it is!”
“Well”—he nipped your jaw, hand slyly making its own path up to your breast, which he stroked open-palmed so that you rocked your hips against his—”I promise not to be virtuous at all for the next…” He glanced at his watch. “Three hours.”
“Three hours?”
“What can I say,” he shrugged. “I’m a people pleaser. It’s my curse.”
-
Suffice to say, by the time 10:00 o’clock rolled around and you and Tyler made your way down so you could settle up the room with Carol, you were feeling like a million bucks. Not even a full spa day could have infused you with this much energy.
There was a pep in your step, a smile plastered to your face, and when Carol said, “Happy holidays! It was nice having you with us!” you were so smug that you slipped the tip in her hand and said, “Thank you, Carol, you sure made it sunny!”
Tyler cackled, but tried to do it subtly. (And failed.)
Right on the money, the snow had stopped falling during the night. It’d be a white Christmas, all right, but you should be able to drive home safely and arrive in time for lunch.
Tyler loaded your suitcase into your car, gallant as ever.
“So,” he said.
“So.”
You exchanged shy glances, which was new for you. You’d never had reason to feel shy around Tyler before, but then, you’d had him inside you not too long ago and the memory of the things you’d done, the things you’d said, which you wouldn’t admit even under threat of perjury, were enough to make you almost blush.
“We should hit the road,” you said dumbly, schooling your features into an unbothered mask.
“Yeah. I’m sure the others have already made it to Ms. Carter’s farm.”
“Well… merry Christmas.”
“Yeah, merry Christmas.”
You opened your door, settled into your seat. You were about to pull the door closed when Tyler stopped it, hand closed around the top.
“Can I call you, after the holidays?”
“Sure.”
“Okay.”
“Cool.”
“Cool.”
He laughed. “Who’s holding the hot potato now, you or me?”
“I think we’re sharing this one,” you replied.
“I don’t mind that.”
“Yeah,” you said, “neither do I.”
He smiled at you for a while, then closed your door and watched you drive off. You followed his movements in the rearview until your paths diverged, then turned up the radio.
“Merry Christmas Eve, one and all! It’s a gorgeous one out there—we couldn’t have asked for better weather. Here’s one just for you. I’m sure you know it, so sing along: it’s Dean Martin and it’s our ‘Winter Wonderland,’ right here, in the heart of good ol’ Oklahoma…”

Haunted car Au part 14
So, it has been a week, and it feels like when you wake up from an unplanned 30 minute nap and have to ask 'What year is it?' While feeling like you have been run over by a whole procession of clowns, clown cars, and maybe a camel for good measure. Granted, that may be from the ragweed that is pollinating like crazy, but oh well... new part!
THIS IS YOUR WARNING! SWEAR WORDS! Plenty of cursing ahead! You have been warned!
Previous. Masterpost
It had been over 24 hours since Jason saw Danny. The most troubling thing was, there were no whispers of a trafficking group in that area. He couldn't fathom what had happened to the kid. Barbara couldn't find the kid on her cameras either, so he might need to go to the cave and look at the Batmobile himself. The footage Babs pulled were just as corrupted as the ally cameras were. Maybe the kid built himself a little jamming device, wouldn't be his first strangely useful creation. Whether or not he had a jamming device, he was still missing and none of the other street kids had seen him. He knew they were probably not harboring him with the bounty for finding Danny being as lucrative as it was. Jason knew offering to cook 3 meals a day for a week would get all of his street kids looking, some adults too.
Jason was a little surprised to see Duke looking at the Batmobile's underside when he drove in. Normally only Bruce and Jason worked on the cars since they had the most hands-on experience with them. Case in point, Duke had the car up on the lift with the front doors open. Did he have to sit Duke down and go through safety in maintenance 101? Maybe he could borrow little Timmy's version “The importance of Maintenance Safety: Or why you don't let Megan write safety plans.” It would hit all the important bits and sear the information in with neon yellow and blue comic sans font.
“So, Glowstick, mind telling me why the fuck you are trying to get yourself crushed?” Jason growled at the kid, the helmet making it even more menacing.
Duke gave Jason an unimpressed look. “B got a stick up his ass and thinks I somehow was involved with the Batmobile running weirdly." Duke sneered as he continued. "Last night when Red Robin activated his emergency beacon, the lead goon got in it and ran over some of his goons. The fail safes for theft didn't activate. Somehow, it was my fault. Perks to being the closest non-injured, I guess.”
Jason was surprised at the bitterness the usually sunshine-y kid had.
“Well, good news, we can swap for a bit, and I can teach you properly how to maintain this beast.” Jason offered.
“Why are you so interested?”
“I can't be nice?”
“You are here willingly, and no, you usually are not ‘nice’. So what is it?”
Jason was not expecting such hostility from Duke, but if Bruce had his panties in a twist and took it out on Duke, he could forgive some of the bite. Couldn't hurt to get Duke in on his hunt for Danny anyway.
“I… need help. One of my guys mentioned they bet a kid, named Danny, some money to put a sticker on the Batmobile. No one has seen the kid after entering the alley where the car was parked. Oracle said the cameras were corrupted at the time the kid was there with it. Figured I would check the car for clues.”
“Oh…. Sure.”
They both looked at the undercarriage of the car in silence before Jason gave a snort.
“The kid really did put a sticker on the oil pan. That is hilarious.”
Sure enough there was a Green Arrow sticker, one where he had his arms crossed and looking smug as all hell, positioned in such a way that eluded that when the oil was drained it would look like Green Arrow was pissing.
“That is amazing, if you find the kid let me give them a high-five for that. What does he look like anyway?”
“Adoption bait, pretty much a mini me with a more ‘polite’ mouth.” Jason was sure Duke could hear his smile when talking about the kid.
“No shit? You with manners? I don't think I can imagine that from a Alley Rat.” Duke teased.
“Watch it Narrows, us Alley Rats are all a little rabid.” Jason found himself teasing back before sniffing. “Besides, Alfie would have my head if I didn't have some manners.”
They went back into a more comfortable silence while working, Jason took to looking through the center, hoping to find some sort of clue of a struggle if Danny got nabbed. Duke was focusing on the engine compartment and any wirings that he could follow. It was rather relaxing until Duke went to move some rubber piping to get a closer look at a relay.
Neither person expected the car to shudder and produce a kind of creepy giggle. Duke froze and Jason reacted by tackling him away from the car and pulling one of his guns at the Batmobile.
“What in the ever loving fuck?” Jason screamed, the Batmobile responded with its own car alarm going off.
“Don't shoot! I'm sorry, I didn't expect that to happen, we are still trying to figure things out!” Duke had jumped back up and put himself in front of Jason, waving his hands and trying to keep attention on him.
“We? What the fuck Narrows?!”
“Just, both of you, stop! Hood, gun down, Car dude, stop the alarm. Please.” Duke all but whined the last word in desperation.
Jason took a Very deep breath, and growled out in the now silent cave.
“Car. Dude?”

Vicious 12 — mafia hs
After his father's death, Harry Styles must take control of the family mafia while dealing with his unpredictable brother, Silas. He meets Y/N Castellano, the daughter of an Italian mafia boss, and learns about their arranged marriage.
Author's note: Happy Halloween everyone! I hope you are all having a great day and are enjoying all the candy and partying.
warnings: smut and cursing
---> vicious masterlist <---
The strip club was a den of dimly lit decadence, a haze of smoke and flashing neon lights. As Harry and Y/N stepped inside, they were greeted by a cacophony of pulsing music and the low murmur of conversation.
The air was thick with the scent of alcohol and perfume, a heady mix that assaulted the senses. Red velvet curtains draped along the walls, concealing private booths where patrons could indulge in more intimate encounters.
The main stage was a focal point of the club, bathed in a spotlight that illuminated the gyrating figures of scantily clad dancers. The dancers moved with practiced grace, their bodies undulating to the rhythm of the music.
Tables were scattered around the stage, occupied by men and women alike, their eyes glued to the mesmerizing performances. Waitresses in skimpy outfits weaved through the crowd, delivering trays of drinks to eager patrons.
The atmosphere was charged with an electric energy, a palpable sense of desire and anticipation. Men and women laughed and whispered, their voices blending with the sultry beats of the music.
"Mr. Styles, Lex, and Charlie! Well, well, what a surprise!" Annika's sultry voice cut through the pulsing music as she approached, clad in nothing but nipple covers and a thong that left little to the imagination. Y/N stood nearby, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness as she took in the scene.
"Annika, it's good to see you," Lex greeted with a charming smile, a rare sight that caught Y/N off guard. She couldn't help but smirk at the realization that it took such a scene to earn a smile from him. Annika's laughter tinkled like a bell, but her gaze was sharp as it shifted to Harry, who stood next to Y/N.
"And who might this be?" Annika's tone held a hint of jealousy as her eyes flickered between Harry and Y/N.
Harry, ever the smooth operator, stepped forward with a smirk. "Annika, this is Y/N," he introduced, his voice low and seductive. "Annika is one of the star performers here."
Y/N offered a polite smile, trying to ignore the way Annika's gaze seemed to linger on Harry. "Nice to meet you, Annika," she said, her voice steady despite the flutter of nerves in her stomach.
Annika's eyes narrowed slightly, a subtle challenge in her gaze as she took Y/N's hand. "Likewise," she replied, her voice tinged with a hint of competitiveness.
“Get me a room in the back. We have business to discuss” Harry commanded Annika, “Tell Jack that we are here too and to meet us with Liam” His tone was cold and sharp. He was there for business, and he needed everyone to know it.
They were shortly escorted to a spacious back room, dimly lit with soft, ambient lighting casting a warm glow. Plush leather couches lined the walls, interspersed with small, elegant tables adorned with flickering candles. The room had an air of exclusivity, with a hint of sensuality lingering in the atmosphere.
“Bring me a whisky,” Harry ordered as he settled into one of the luxurious couches, casually shrugging off his jean jacket and tossing it aside. He leaned back comfortably, his eyes glinting with a mix of amusement and interest as he lit up a cigarette. Beside him, Y/N took her seat, the tight fabric of her short dress rustling as she adjusted herself.
Lex and Charlie placed their orders, and Annika, the scantily clad stripper, turned her attention to Y/N. Her voice was sharp, cold with an edge of jealousy that didn't go unnoticed.
“You?” Annika inquired, her eyes flickering over Y/N with a mix of scrutiny and disdain. Y/N, however, remained unfazed, meeting Annika’s gaze with a cool, unwavering stare.
“Gin and tonic,” Y/N replied smoothly, crossing her legs elegantly as she settled back against the plush cushions. Her demeanor was poised, confident, and unyielding. Harry couldn't help but admire the way she held herself, the subtle defiance in her posture.
As Annika turned away to retrieve their drinks, Harry glanced sidelong at Y/N, a faint smirk playing at the corners of his lips. He found himself oddly pleased by her newfound confidence, the way she refused to be belittled or intimidated by anyone, even a stripper in a back room of a strip club. It was a side of her he hadn't expected, and strangely, it intrigued him.
After the drinks had been served, Annika returned with two more friends in tow. The room seemed to pulse with the beat of the music as they waited Liam and Jack. The woman had been sent by their bosses to entertain Harry and his companions, and they wasted no time in adding to the atmosphere.
Charlie and Lex watched with a mix of amusement and surprise as the dancers moved gracefully around the room, their bodies swaying to the rhythm of the music. It was a refreshing change from their usual routine, and they couldn't deny the allure of the moment.
Annika, with a mischievous glint in her eyes, made a beeline for Harry. With sensual movements, she practically crawled her way onto his lap, her body pressing tantalizingly close to his. Harry, ever the composed figure, watched her with a hint of amusement, his eyes twinkling with something unreadable.
Meanwhile, Y/N observed the scene with a cool detachment, taking slow sips of her gin and tonic as she watched the dancers move around the room. She had no desire to join in the festivities, content to simply observe the chaos unfolding before her.
As the music grew louder and the dancers became more daring in their movements, the room seemed to blur with a heady mix of excitement and desire. Harry, caught up in the moment, allowed himself to be drawn into the seductive dance, his hands moving over Annika's body with a practiced ease.
Annika gracefully detached herself from Harry's lap and sauntered back to the small stage in the room. With a teasing smirk, she slowly peeled off her nipple covers, leaving her completely bare from the waist up. Y/N couldn't help but be entertained by the reactions of the men, who seemed to be utterly mesmerized by the sight before them.
Harry, noticing the small smile playing on Y/N's lips, leaned in closer to her, his voice low and enticing. “Jealous?” he whispered in her ear, his breath warm against her skin. Y/N couldn't deny the intoxicating effect of his proximity, and she took a slow sip of her drink before responding.
“What is there to be jealous of?” she replied, her tone confident. In truth, she felt a sense of empowerment in the room, surrounded by desire and admiration. However, when it came to Annika, there was a flicker of something else entirely.
“The attention?” Y/N giggled, her laughter light and playful as she leaned in closer to Harry. With a mischievous glint in her eyes, she pressed her hand against his thigh, feeling the heat of his skin beneath her touch.
“It's not exactly rocket science,” Y/N whispered into his ear, her voice low and teasing. She traced the shell of his ear with her lips, her breath warm against his skin. “Anyone could do it,” she added, her tone playful and inviting.
She could feel the tension between them, the electricity crackling in the air. Y/N enjoyed the thrill of the game, the playful banter that danced between them. It was a dangerous game, but one she was more than willing to play.
"Anyone? Really?" Harry asked, a mischievous smile playing on his lips as he leaned back, taking a drag from his cigarette and a sip from his whiskey. Feeling the closeness between them, he reached out and gently grasped her chin, his touch firm and commanding.
"Dance for me," Harry commanded, his voice low and filled with a hint of desire.
"But there are people—" Y/N started, her protest cut off as Harry's gaze held hers.
"I don't care," Harry interrupted, his tone firm and unwavering. "Let them watch."
There was a challenge in his eyes, a dare for her to step out of her comfort zone. Y/N felt a surge of excitement at the idea, the thrill of being watched adding to the already charged atmosphere between them. Without hesitation, she rose from her seat, the fabric of her dress swaying with her movements as she made her way to the small stage.
As the music pulsed through the room, Y/N let herself get lost in the rhythm. Her body moved with a sensual grace, the movements fluid and hypnotic. She could feel Harry's eyes on her, burning with intensity, and it only spurred her on further.
Much to Harry's surprise, Y/N seemed to know her way around the pole with a grace and ease that left him stunned. She spun around it, her movements fluid and mesmerizing, before effortlessly hanging from it upside down, her hair cascading towards the floor.
Harry couldn't tear his eyes away from her as she moved with a confidence and skill that seemed at odds with the innocent image she often portrayed. There was a raw sensuality to her movements, a fire that burned beneath the surface and captivated him completely.
As she twirled and spun, her body glistening with a light sheen of sweat, Harry found himself entranced by her.
Lost in the moment, she danced for him, letting the music and the heat of the room wash over her. The watching eyes only fueled her desire, and she moved with a newfound confidence, a sultry smile playing on her lips.
She dropped to her knees, the fabric of her dress slipping down her shoulders as she moved. The dress had risen to her hips, revealing the curve of her thighs. Charlie and Lex, who had been watching with rapt attention, were now completely captivated by Y/N and the way she moved. Their gazes were fixed on her, drawn to the undeniable allure she exuded.
Y/N got on all fours, the sway of her hips mesmerizing as she slowly crawled towards Harry. The air in the room crackled with tension as she closed the distance between them, her eyes locked with his.
As Harry leaned back, spreading his legs slightly to invite her closer, he couldn't help but notice the way his men were looking at her. There was a hunger in their eyes that made something primal stir within him. A possessive instinct surged through him, a fierce need to protect what was his.
"Get the fuck out," Harry growled, his voice filled with a fierce possessiveness that sent a shiver down Y/N's spine. But his men seemed transfixed, their eyes glued to her as if under a spell.
"I said the fuck out!" Harry roared again, his frustration mounting as they remained rooted to the spot. It was as if Y/N had cast some sort of spell over them, her body and her gaze holding them captive.
Finally, Charlie seemed to snap out of it, his eyes widening in realization. With a swift, decisive move, he grabbed Lex by the arm and practically dragged him out of the room. The other men followed suit, stumbling out in a daze, as if awakening from a dream.
As the door slammed shut behind them, Harry let out a heavy breath, his chest heaving with pent-up frustration. He turned to Y/N, his eyes dark and intense.
But as Y/N climbed onto his lap, her movements slow and deliberate, Harry pushed aside the jealousy that threatened to surface. He focused on her, on the way her body moved against his, the heat between them palpable.
Wrapping his arms around her waist, Harry pulled her closer, the scent of her intoxicating him. His gaze met hers, a silent challenge passing between them. In that moment, there was only the two of them, lost in the throes of desire and the undeniable chemistry that crackled between them.
"You...," he started, his voice rough with desire and something more primal. "You're playing a dangerous game, Y/N.”
Y/N settled herself comfortably on Harry's lap, feeling the heat of his body beneath her. With a deliberate slowness, she finished sliding off her dress, leaving her clad only in her underwear. She could feel the undeniable hardness of his dick beneath the fabric of his pants as she moved her hips against him, a smirk playing on her lips.
The sensation of him beneath her only fueled her confidence, and she leaned in closer, her lips brushing against his ear.
“Is this what you wanted?” she murmured, her voice low and husky with desire. "To see me like this, to feel me against you?"
She didn't wait for a response, instead letting her actions speak for her. She continued to grind against him, the friction between them sending sparks of pleasure coursing through her body. The room seemed to fade away as she lost herself in the heat of the moment, focused only on the man beneath her and the deliciously forbidden thrill of it all.
Harry's hands came up, entwining in her hair, gently pulling it back to expose her neck to him. He leaned in, his lips trailing along her skin with a hungry intensity. He kissed and nibbled on her neck, leaving a trail of hot, wet kisses that made her shiver with pleasure.
Y/N couldn't help but moan softly, her head falling back as his lips worked their magic on her sensitive skin. She could feel the heat radiating off him, the desire and need in his touch palpable.
His hands roamed over her body, exploring every curve and dip as if trying to memorize every inch of her. Y/N arched into his touch, her breath coming in ragged gasps as pleasure coursed through her veins.
Harry's kisses grew more urgent, more demanding, as if he couldn't get enough of her. He sucked lightly on her pulse point, feeling her heartbeat quicken beneath his lips.
Y/N's hands trembled with desire as she reached for the buttons of Harry's shirt, her fingers fumbling in her eagerness to feel his bare skin against hers. The tension crackled in the air between them, the heat of their passion almost suffocating.
With each button undone, she revealed more of his taut, muscular chest, her breath catching in her throat at the sight of him. Harry's skin was warm beneath her fingertips, smooth and inviting as she traced her fingers along his defined abs.
As the last button came undone, she pushed the shirt off his shoulders, letting it fall to the floor forgotten. Y/N's hands roamed over his chest, feeling the rise and fall of his breath as she explored every inch of him.
Harry groaned softly as her lips met the heated skin of his chest, her kisses leaving a trail of fire in their wake. She sucked lightly on his collarbone, nipping and teasing with her teeth as she moved lower.
She leaned down, capturing his lips in a heated kiss as she ground her hips against his, seeking friction and release. Harry responded eagerly, his hands roaming over her body, exploring and teasing every curve.
With a low growl, he flipped her onto her back, pinning her beneath him as he claimed her lips hungrily. Y/N moaned into his mouth, her hands clawing at his back as she urged him closer.
Harry deftly undid the clasp of her bra, his breath hitching at the sight of her bare chest. He couldn't help but swallow hard, his desire building with each passing second. With a low groan of appreciation, he took his time kissing, touching, and suckling on each swollen nipple, savoring the way she moaned softly in response.
Her hands tangled in his hair, urging him closer, and he obliged eagerly, his own need growing by the second. The soft sounds of her pleasure only fueled his desire further, and he couldn't wait any longer.
His hand trailed down her body, fingertips grazing the sensitive skin of her stomach before dipping lower to the elastic of her panties. With a swift motion, he began to pull them down, the anticipation making his pulse race.
Just as he was about to touch her, a sharp knock on the door shattered the moment, the sound jolting them both back to reality.
"Boss? Liam and Jack are here," Lex's voice came from the other side of the door, a note of urgency in his tone.
Harry cursed under his breath, frustration and desire warring within him. With a growl of annoyance, he continued enjoying her, his body protesting the interruption.
“Boss?”
Harry ground his teeth in frustration at the persistent knocking. "I heard you the first time!" His voice was sharp, a clear sign of his irritation. Y/N couldn't help the small smirk that tugged at her lips, finding his vexation slightly amusing.
Y/N slowly sat up, her movements languid as she retrieved her discarded clothes from the floor. The interruption had brought an abrupt end to their heated moment, leaving her with a sense of frustration and anticipation. She began to dress, the fabric of her clothes sliding over her skin, the memory of Harry's touch still lingering.
Meanwhile, Harry watched her with a hunger in his eyes, his gaze trailing over her as she dressed. He couldn't deny the attraction he felt towards her, the desire that pulsed between them even in the midst of their interrupted encounter.
“I want to take you so fuckin’ bad” he murmured, his gaze intense as it met hers.
Y/N felt a shiver run down her spine at his words, the heat of his gaze igniting a fire within her. She couldn't deny the effect he had on her, the way he made her feel desired and wanted.

Yoongi
𝐔𝐍𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄 | Christmas

⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅
Yoongi isn’t one for soft and warm gestures. There’s no point in them.
So why did he wake up way too early to get the stupid little pine tree from the markets, so he can put a very badly wrapped piece of dumb jewelry under that tree? Well, because it might make you happy.
And yoongi likes seeing you happy.
When he wakes you with a hand on your shoulder, you’re disoriented at first- a bit panicked even, unsure if something is wrong since he rarely wakes up before you- but then you see it.
There’s a thin string of neon lights probably meant for a different purpose than decoration wrapped around a very small pine tree- and somewhat next and under it, is a small box. It’s wrapped carefully, paper held together by a simple nylon string.
“..yoongi.” You look towards him, and he panicks a little. This isn’t the kind of look he was hoping for when planning this. God, why are humans so complicated? You look like you’re about to cry even, what did he do wrong?
And then, suddenly, you’re in his arms. Head buried into his shoulder, arms around him, and he can’t even move for a good second or two as he’s bombarded with both your scent and your warmth. Things he’s been thinking about- but that’s what it was. Thoughts.
“thank you.” You mumble into his neck, before you move towards the small plant on the table. “how- did you know about this?” You wonder. “human traditions aren’t really common anymore.”
“No, but information on them is freely available.” He says, trying to control his heart from beating too hard. “you’ve.. been down lately. Your mood has been terrible.” He tries to downplay his actions by attempting to blame it on simple convenience. “I saw it and remembered someone talking about a human holiday that makes people happy.” He shrugs.
“What is it?” You wonder as you pick up the small box wrapped in simple newspaper.
“open it.” He just tells you, unable to hide his amusement when you do so with the outmost care, cherishing his efforts.
‘Do not purr.’ He tells himself. ‘You’re not a goddam pet.’
You look at the chain you take out the velvet bag inside the box, and you’re confused at first. Yoongi notices rather quickly, walking closer to take it from you. “it’s made from Iastine Metal. Lasts longer and.. should be more comfortable than what you wear now.” He says as he points to your identification still around your neck. “it’s.. got your name and ID engraved on here. Can be scanned, too.” He mumbles as he shows you the small Metal tag- looking more decorative than only purposeful. The metal is silver, but with a warm touch, reflecting in multiple hues of purple and red when catching the light.
“it looks.. expensive.” You worry, but he just shrugs, before his hands move to take your collar off at the scan of his own ID chip in his wrist.
“Its an investment.” He tries to justify, before he moves the chain around your neck instead, closing it with an odd snap or crack that startles you a bit. “the connecting piece sparks with a chemical reaction to bind the two ends together on a molecular level.”
“..so I can’t loose it?” You joke, as he looks at your neck, words tumbling out before he can stop them.
“And I won’t loose you.” He says.
It’s quiet after that, and odd tension filling the room, one of his hands still near your neck. “was it.. alright that I hugged you?” You ask quietly.
“I didn’t push you away now, did I?” He responds.
“That’s not a proper answer.”
He stutters a bit at that, deep in thought before he speaks once more, hand leaving your close proximity.
“It was.” He reassures you.
“yoongi?” You ask again, and he sighs in fake annoyance. “now I feel bad. What can I gift you?” You ask him, and he stares you down for a moment, thinking of an answer.
“I just need you to promise me something.” He says, sitting on the edge of the bed with you next to him, patiently awaiting his request. “tell me if it hurts.”
“Huh?” You ask, unsure what he’s talking about.
“I’m still figuring out what.. you are to me. Or rather, what I want you to possibly be to me.” He explains further. “I know humans are emotionally vulnerable. I’m not very soft, I’m not good at navigating someone else’s emotions. So, tell me if what I’m doing hurts you.” He says.
“as long as what you do is done with.. honest intentions, it won’t hurt.” You tell him.
“What if I sleep with you then?” He boldly asks. “just to realize that’s not what I want after all?” He questions, and you shrug.
“Won’t hurt.” You respond. “because I know why you’re doing it. Just..” you drift off.
“just?” He asks.
“just don’t..” you sigh. “don’t say you love me until you’re really sure of it, okay?” You ask, and he nods.
“Deal.”

for no other reason that i'd love seeing malleus and lilia freak out over you (men who keep it together SNAPPING when they see their loved one hurt? hell yes gimme), please imagine you visiting diasomnia dorm and accidentally take poison that was snuck to harm malleus.
i was replaying book 4 recently and remembered jamil taste-tests everything, but i don't remember his retainers doing the same... malleus probably grew some immunity due to lilia's cooking lolol jkjk ok but i wonder if he ever was under that eye... granted he's powerful enough that barely anyone would dare, but there must be someone who wants him gone, like, look at rollo lol that man had no fear.
so yeah, you're just doing your thing, hanging out and talking malleus' ears off while he's grabbed a snack or something, and maybe he playfully shoves the spoon into your mouth as he teases you "breathe, child of man" with a grin on his face (you know the one, the one he does when you poke him too much in the home screen and he says he'll "overlook your rudeness". sir you are not fooling anyone. you love getting our attention. ANYWAYS—). lilia's there, leaning on the counter chuckling while you roll your eyes, playing along–
and then your mouth goes numb. at first is your tongue, so you blink in confusion, not fully registering what's happening. malleus stares at you in confusion as well while lilia's the one narrowing his eyes now.
next it's your jaw that numbs, and you touch your face feeling a pang of worry–it's the next second, when it becomes hard to breathe, that panic sets in. and it sets in hard. you're clawing at your throat while your body fights for air as you panic. you hear the clang of a plate and the rustling of robes near you, and your vision is full of black and neon green as malleus' form covers you, trying to see and find what is wrong.
lilia is too familiar with said attempts, having been acquainted with nobility and a senate that hated his guts for centuries, plus the tensions among the fae kingdom centuries past. one touch to the food numbs his finger and he immediately knows, so he's out in a flash to find crewel's office where he knows there might be what he needs.
bonus points if the antidote is administered via kiss because you can't swallow it and cough it out :3
the fun part though (to me, i am not sorry lol) would be malleus going absolutely ballistic to the point where there is a storm on the whole school. maybe the island, even while lilia looks one step away from going back into general–mode. "maybe it's time i pull my old weapon out." "father, please don't."
(sebek and silver are your friends too so they'd be pissed off as well, or if you're into a whole polycule you can imagine them freaking out as well.)
but now everyone in the diasomnia dorm is under heavy scrutiny. who'd have the balls to try and go poison malleus draconia? someone with a deathwish, that's who. though now you get pampered to death by them, including some open heart talk about malleus feeling guilty you took the hit for him, albeit accidentally.
if you want the lite version with no poison, just pampering and no snapping, just imagine malleus giving you a cold or the flu, except he doesn't get it himself. his body just doesn't feel the symptoms because he's that powerfully built, but you do get it from him (does this make sense? no, i personally think the virus would avoid him alltogether but let's just go with the flow (flu, heh) here) and you fall sick in his presence a few days later, red and feverish–passing out on him on the couch, too! you didn't want to stay at ramshackle and rest when he'd been looking forward to hanging out with his favourite people, so you just popped some meds and went out anyways. congrats, now you'll be pampered to death as well! maybe literally, if lilia insists on making that soup...
(me personally i prefer the poison one because desperation + love is delicious. plus the antidote giving through a kiss. clichés are in my blood. though i'd also love the other way around where you save malleus instead, i admit it's hard for me to imagine a poison that's able to get that man at all... but hey maybe there is one! or lilia's the one that gets it accidentally. that would make both you and malleus go absolutely feral on the spot, and silver? oh boy. yeah you three are out for blood. sebek for once would be the calmest of the group while still being pretty pissed off about the whole ordeal.
but hey now you get to pamper your old man or prince a little bit! :D)
YESSS ANONIE YESSSS 🥳🫶🙌
ALL OF THIS
I love when the calm/happy ones snap. You know you’re out of luck when that happens. Whoever dared?? Their days are numbered big time.
And something caused by poison?? When it was meant for another? 🤌 yes give it to me.
I feel Malleus would have a poison resistance that he accumulates over the years. And even if his dorm is filled with mostly supporters and those who worship him, it doesn’t mean there isn’t anyone that doesn’t want to hurt him or the others.
There can be many reasons. Maybe they hate his stance with humans? Maybe they want to hurt Lilia. It could be an aftermath of his OB.
But either way, you have been harmed and that cannot be. An innocent who was a friend (or maybe something more) to them and they dare harm you?
And for Malleus to have “basically fed” you that poison? Oh the guilt and the horror.
Lilia, from experience alone, probably has a panacea or the ingredients needed. If not, crewel’s lab is getting raided. How could he have let this happen? How could he lower his guard like this? All of this he’ll have to reflect on later. Even now, enemies are in his shadows.
Administrating the antidote through kiss? Yesss
Forcing your mouth open and making you drink it. Slowly rubbing your throat to make sure it goes down.
Crewel and Vil are called to check up on you. While Lilia? He’s using his UM to find answers.
His eyes glow wine red. The shadows around him spreads. He is eerily quiet. He is hunting now.
Anything with a kiss always has me kicking my feet, I don’t care how cliche it is. I will eat it up like it’s a fine course meal and I have been starving 💞💞
Diasomnia is going to be extra protective of you for the next coming weeks minimum. Get ready to be cuddled 🥰🥰
Delicious, so delicious, thank you for this meal Anonie 🥰🥰

Asking the FLoc crayon [neon carrot] bc someone has to.
neon carrot: if you could give them any npc as a spouse, who would it be and why?
THIS IS SUCH A HARD QUESTION.
To address the obvious answer given recent activities: no i dont think he should marry Feducci, but he… might, if given the chance. The man CANONICALLY sent Sam 12 cellars of wine with a note reading "TO PASSIONS UNMATCHED" i dont think anyone can blame him for feeling like they had something special!!!! Feducci seems like he could make him very satisfied intimacy-wise but would also almost certainly Make Him Worse.
Samuel's constant difficulty with Marriage is that he isn't really… romantic in the traditional sense. HE HAS A LOT OF PHYSICAL DESIRE but romance rarely does anything for him outside of stories, and he gets antsy whenever he's locked in to a particular life plan. HOWEVER: he is usually too Catholic(TM) to really embrace a no-strings-attached lifestyle, and his tastes are well outside the typical Veilgarden hookup anyway (one of his most sensual experiences was getting murdered by an actual literal lance through the gut, so…). The real reason he bought multiple viric dreams of the Bishop of Southwark was that he was trying SO hard to Want Marriage, but even with someone so physically intense and driven, that dream of settling down for life isn't what he really wants; he just wants the part where they're wrestling by the fire.
The other complication is that he has finally found partners he can be happily intimate with: Peter and Jack (@little-red-notebook and @reliably-derogaffectionate's characters, respectively), to whom he is essentially a friend with benefits. He was best man at their wedding somewhat wistfully, but since they've both assured him that they still want him involved in their relationship, it feels very easy to be with them; a closeness he wants without the expectations that come with being a Spouse. It's still, you know, making love outside of marriage, but Samuel has never been good at avoiding that, and at least here he knows he's not leading anyone on or cheating on anyone.
An Ideal Marriage for Sam would involve some amount of polyamory to give him room for these inevitable, ah, extracurricular activities, someone that doesn't tie him down, ideally someone he can do physically dangerous things with and, importantly, have sex (these two activities can be combined). But I also think in an ideal world he would have someone who respects his own principles and doesn't try to smother his hope for compassion with duty, which feels like the big sticking point for a lot of the aggressive characters (like Southwark and Feducci) that Sam's attracted to.
I don't remember well enough to say how many of these points she hits, but I keep thinking of the Zubmariner from the Sunken River ES, as someone no-nonsense in a way Sam really respected and found attractive, but who also has people she cares about. She might be too cool to fall for this soggy loser, though, and the chances of her turning out to be a lesbian seem high. (Also Sam left her behind…. that's a choice he regrets, and I kinda wanna replay that story at some point, with the idea of him actually trying to go back for her). But in general, the idea of Samuel marrying a principled pirate where they both know their first love will always be the zee feels like something that could turn out to be a genuinely happy partnership for him. BUT WHO KNOWS maybe in a year I'll come back with a totally different answer I never saw coming.
#lmao sorry just talks Sams Feelings On Marriage instead of answering the question#fl crayon ask game#flondonposting#fl: the bloodstained deacon#sam is aromantic he just isnt ace and doesnt know what to do with himself#ftr Poor Edward is not here because i have too many thoughts abt him and that wouldve taken over the post#but the tldr is that I think it would just be kind of a bittersweet outcome for both of them#i think it could work out eventually but id need to write an entire fanfic to make it happen#ask shazz

this might be a strange ask but what are your least favorite species of your top 5 paintbrush colors?
Chocolate:
Korbat: It's kind of amazing how little effort was put into this colour. At one point I was thinking that it was the first chocolate pet released and that's why it's so plain, but it's actually the fourth, with all three pets (Chia, Ruki, and Skeith) before it having substantially more interesting designs. It should have, like, wafer wings/ears and a licorice tail or something.
Halloween:
Peophin: All of the incredible horse-based monsters out out there and we get... a blue Peophin in a tiny cap and witch hat. Like, even ignoring the boring design, couldn't it have just been like black with a red mane or something instead of the incredibly clashy default blue design? At least it got a pet style recently, though that doesn't count for too much given that the proportions are a bit weird (too thin and the head's too small) and the shading's kind of wonky if you look at it for too long.
Mutant:
Vandagyre: The mutant Vandagyre suffers from a lack of concept, as I can't tell what it's going for or what the theme's supposed to be between the braids, bare skin, and out-of-place tentacle tails. More importantly, though, it's just poorly drawn, with weird, stiff anatomy, unnecessary tentacle gradients, and very poor shading. At least with most mutant pets I can objectively say the art is excellent even if I don't like the design—that's not the case here.
Oil Paint:
Cybunny: Oil Paint is generally a really good colour all around, so there really aren't any truly "bad" options, just "okay" ones. That said, I'm going to go Cybunny here just because while I love the Starry Night concept, I don't think the execution's that great. The way they did the brush strokes leads to some weird shapes (like the muzzle looking like it's sticking out too far), and having all the yellow on the face off-balances the colors; it would've been nice if the body also had some yellow spots, which would've been more accurate to the original painting anyway. The barely-noticeable red lines on the paws are also odd, as is the out-of-place red nose.
Faerie:
Usul: Faerie pets were mostly just pretty normal-looking Neopets with unique poses at the beginning, so a lot of early faerie pets suck (other contenders here include the Aisha and Uni). However, I have to give it to the Usul because the color palette is incredibly jarring—pink on tan with blue eyes and neon green wings. Nothing about the design is interesting, and nothing about the colors work together. Also, while it has old art, it's not really that good—I like the pose, but the anatomy, shading, etc. isn't very well done.

I was gonna post a vid on tiktok bc I have more followers there but i'll post it here because-
When I die, I wanna be reincarnated into Redacted Tumblr as a beautiful Lasko/Gavin spicy fic-
Anyway, I drew the D.A.M.N. boys + Imperium AU :D Please look at them, its late and I'm tired.
I also have a speedpaint of them on my yt (eggyboyoart) so if you wanted to look at that as well, I would be rlly happy :))
(TW: Spoilers for Imperium AU)
I wanted Lasko to look super light and soft and cloud-like while also being kind of elegant?? He looks so poofy :D
I hc that he takes rlly RLLY great care of his hair, like- mans has a 23 step routine to keep it untangled and soft :))
The hair routine also helps him relax and de-stress after a long day
I also headcanon that he wears a lot of light, soft sweaters with a button up underneath for that academic soft boy look
In the Imperium AU, he got the scar across his eye from a wayward daemon who tried to attack him in the D.A.M.N. daemon haven.
He wears his hair tied back into a low pony tail to seem more 'professional', bc my mans is the ACADEMY PRESIDENT :D
Imp! Lasko wears a black suit with a white button up and either a red or light blue tie (gotta keep it professional when you're tormenting daemons and chasing after uninterested freelancers :|)
IDK why but whenever I imagine Damien (original timeline), its always with rlly short hair
idk I feel like if he had long hair, it would make him too warm around his neck and that'd make him uncomfortable and grumpy (well, more grumpy than he usually is anyway)
gotta keep the neck open for air flow (and easy access-)
I think he wears a lot of sleeveless clothes (tank tops, sleeveless hoodies, etc and shorts bc of the heat
Damien is a chronic khaki shorts wearer, I'M SORRY-
Imp! Damien is royalty so obvs gotta keep it professional
I feel like he would have other priorities than cutting his hair so it mostly just gets slicked back out of his face
The scar on his neck is from a failed assassination attempt (our boy damien stays livin', unlike Angel-)
I feel like he still wears sleeveless shirts but also wears a fur cape (like, one of those white ones with the black spots with the red velvet) which seems counter intuitive.
I am relieved to say that Imp! Damien doesn't wear khaki shorts :D silver linings, guys-
I wanna start this off my saying, Imp! Huxley might be one of my favourite characters
Hes just, such a piece of shit and I don't want to change him, I want him to stay exactly how he is, thats the POINT-
Freelancer bought him neon jewellery for his lip piercings and he screamed when he got them
also a sweater wearer like lasko but he likes his sweaters to be oversized, but because hes just big, his sweaters are like blankets for regular sized ppl
he has his hair kinda long-ish bc freelancer enjoys playing with it and he likes making his friends happy so he keeps it kinda long just for them-
Imp! Huxley is a piece of shit and we love him for that
He doesn't have friends so his hair is shorter
He probably wears tactical gear/uniform bc he is an enforcer, but its all like a dark green which looks rlly good on him
no neon piercings for Imp! Hux as much as I hate to say it
GAVIN OUR FASHION ICON-
He knows clothes like he knows freelancer's body- IN AND OUT. Hes got that shit LOCKED DOWN
Freelancer gave him the heart glasses as a gift
Gavin never saw the appeal of piercings until freelancer said they would look hot on him, REALLY enjoys all the different types of jewellery
Probably wears patterned button up shirts (with as many buttons undone as possible) with skin tight jean/leather pants
Imp! Gavin dresses like hes homeless, theres no time for fashion when you're trying to survive in an dystopian magic world where everyone hates you :P
I hc that when a Daemon gets low in energy/emotions, they can't keep their 'glamour/human form' up so they forcibly have to take on their more daemonic traits (horns, coloured eyes, markings, tails, claws, etc)
and bc of the shit hole that the Imperium AU world is... :|
I also hc that only sex and sadism daemons have coloured sclera

This will update in time, but for now all I have
I don't have the courage to post this myself so this will probably be scheduled for some horrendous time at night. I also don't have the courage to point out who is who because I'm scared maybe they won't like how they sound, though maybe if I go into detail too hard it might be possible to tell. Lol. This isn't everyone yet. I still need some more time to see who everyone is, blah blah blah, bunch of stupid abstract brain stuff, but. Playlist of my friends I've made here... yeah
Wounds- doesn't count because that's me. Decided to put it there because why not. I don't need to talk about myself let's be real no one cares about that
Norduris. Funny, somehow right away this was you. I love when that happens, when a song just reacts so strongly with the whole person in my head I'm searching for. Everything I've seen of you screams this song and it's. Beautiful to me. Always is but it doesn't get tiring. So much of you seems like it was locked away and buried in worry. Wistful thinking and hoping for the future. There is so much good in you. I think I'll stick around for as long as I can to help you see that. Kind and comforting. Creative and inspired just about every time I've seen you, I think. But I think you worry too much. There's fear and anger in there and I think, maybe, I wish there didn't have to be. Well, not the unjustified ones at least. But it all pools together for a strength that I think fits you. Still hopeful and still going. I like that about people... That might be a recurring theme for everyone really. But it's still you, too. Such slow waltzing shades of gray, like fog and the cover of rain. Pastel yellow like the sun, deep, deep green accompanying the rest. There you are, Kry.
Lost. You know the song titles don't really mean anything before you might ask. I never take it into account. Just the way it sounds. I also think you worry far too much but then again you've gone through for too much. But you are creative, and fun, and uplifting. Think you have a little bit of a habit of subduing yourself in fear of something I never quite know. But you are patient, so patient and I value that a lot. Especially when it's given to me. Nervous at times, needing permission before letting yourself shine. Wisdom about you that sometimes I really need to hear. You really know how to rile someone up in a playful way and I don't think enough people play into such things anymore. Wonderful to see really. Like a slow stream in a still air, deep, deep gray and neon blue. Streaks of white too, liminal in a way that reminds me of a barren tundra with nothing to be seen in any direction. Nothing but you. Hey there, Gold <3
daydream. Augh, I feel like my brain is stalling over how to put everything I have seen into words. Something about you just feels so positive, an upbeat air to you even if you're not feeling okay. You're still there, and I see you. Confident a lot of the time, and it's well warranted I believe. Other times not so much. Kind and caring like everyone I know here is, and a childlike excitement every time we talk that I do adore. God you know so well how to make other people excited with you. And you care, so much, I know everyone does but there's something about it with you that's just... electric, is the word I think. There's different styles of care but that one is yours. Funny. I think you make me feel safe in all the fucked up ways my own mind will talk to me. Maybe it's because I think we have a lot of similarities. It's always been positive with you, even when it isn't because you make caring about you easy. You know how the light of the sun shimmers on a body of water? That's kind of how you move, a sweet caramel brown and autumn orange, little drops of red about your air. So wonderful to meet you, Karl.
demise. Again, I swear the titles do not come into play with this. I suppose there's only so much I can repeat about someone being kind, caring, and fun before it starts feeling less special. I promise that never happens, no matter how many people I know like that in my life. Especially when your style of caring is just so... calming. And determined. Offering so much to people you care about even if maybe they haven't earned it yet. That doesn't seem to matter to you. You're giving it anyways. You're a giver, I suppose. You do a lot of creating and it's stunning. And you offer so much to others because you want to. Able to make people feel safe and like they matter. Love the mischief you get up to a lot too. Dedicated to so many things. Greens of jade and pastel grass, white all between them like a snow flurry. A bit of silvery undertones. I'm glad that I get to know you Shed.
Night Beacon. I held off for a few days more before considering you because I wanted to be accurate. There is something to be said about being quiet, in a sense that is positive and not whatever I say when talking about myself. A good kind of quiet, maybe mellow is the word I am looking for. I like when my friends are passionate and you are no exception. A certain type of calmness that I can't quite explain. I think there is a kindness in your ability to just exist and that may not make, sense, but it's the best I can say. You tough through a lot of things you might not want to do but there's a strength in that. And of course, you are creative. I make friends with creatives a lot. I think maybe you are the kind of person I would pick first to surround myself with. Chill overall that can swap into a more serious frame of mind whenever needed, knowing how to navigate around vibes and situations while being kind. And still someone who is enthusiastic about things you like in a way that isn't overwhelming. It's nice. Might put you on a loop more often than I should, lol. Peach and bright orange, with yellow mixed in with it. Along with a pretty desaturated beige, the best I can put it. Literally like the air of the world during a sunset. You should be proud of that Isaac.
Autumn Afternoon. I'd like to think you quite pleasant and lively despite your words of "This group space of which I have butted in". Who cares if you did do that? You butted in and we let you because we wanted to. You belong here with us, and with me. In my head singing sweetly the soul of who you are. You worry a lot. Hey, I do too. Maybe we both definitely worry too much. Being anxious kinda sucks. But you know what? Here you are anyway. You worry about your place but you still sit here and take it. That's wonderful strength and you might say "I owe it to everyone else" but you are still here. You have a lot going on that tries to work against you. A lot of us do too, if not all of us. But you power through anyway. Underneath all that anxiety sits so much passion. Excitement for things you like. You're a damn good artist and a life to have around. Pastel lime and steel blue, dancing like petals swept into the wind of faded silver, hinted with aqua blue. Yeah. You're a wonderful one there, Storm.
Hope. Honestly I take you for a very lively and bubbly person. You have a lot of ideas and you are eager to do them, to share them, stuff like that. Eager is a good word. I think that fits you the most really and that's not to be taken as a bad thing. Nothing in these are really meant to be taken as bad. Just to be taken as you. Curious and learning seems important to you. Being there, being around, I suppose you kind of bring an air that isn't something I can quite find words for, but it's a positive, I promise. Upbeat is a nice thing to be regardless of what you've ben through or are going through. Maybe sometimes you don't even feel that way but you still manage to convey that for the people around you and I think that's special. It's funny because most people wouldn't say gray and silver are necessarily colors that match to that idea but there you are. Lavender is there too, and a specific hue of blue that reminds me of warm and tropical water. Don't know the exact name for it. Kind of like a mix between a pinwheel and a wind chime, and I think it's very pretty, Lunar.
epitaph. You know we may not really talk as much compared to others on this list but that doesn't mean I haven't gotten to know you. You are still very outspoken about the things you believe in and the things you like or dislike and that's a strength I wish I would have myself. I guess the way I see it is you have a strong vocal presence regardless of what's being talked about. But despite that you can still be very hesitant and worry a lot about things, which is something I have to share. Doesn't always have to be bad. Can also mean that you care, and I really don't think enough people now how to do that these days. Caring is good. Space to keep people on your mind because you want to. Maybe there are still things you need to figure out and that helps to play into some hesitation, but when has anyone ever had things all figured out anyway? Stability is always something to seek, but you don't have to consider yourself any less for not knowing all the time. Things can be okay without it being certain. But you still work towards it, and that's admirable. Like having strength and perceived weakness in a balance. Gold and olive green, I think, off-white and a type of orange that seems like it's burning as it exists. Maybe that doesn't make sense. But, it is you, Damien.

Hey, welcome back ^^!! How about a fluffy drabble about Gintoki and his s/o on an arcade date? Gin seems like the type of guy that would try to win a plush from a UFO catcher machine to impress his partner only to end up losing like $50 lmao. Thank you!!
my beloved anon, i'm so sorry you had to wait so long for your request. i really loved writing this and i hope you like it <3
PAIRING. sakata gintoki x genderneutral!reader
WARNINGS. fluff, language
MASTERLIST
The static hum of the neon lights fills the arcade, irradiating the endless rows of claw machines and blinking game screens with a flickering hue of pink, green and blue. The laughter of other couples and small children echoe around you and you can faintly smell the sweetness of cotton candy and waffles, though right now, your focus is solely on the silver-haired samurai by your side who's staring down a UFO catcher machine like it just ate the last of his beloved chocolate parfait.
"Alright, Strawberry-san," he mutters lowly and cracks his knuckles, glaring at the red plushie that stares back at him with beady black eyes and an innocent smile. “You think you’re so smug, sitting there just out of reach… well, guess what? I’m taking you down.”
You sink your teeth into your bottom lip in an attempt to stifle a laugh because somehow, he's acting like he's preparing for a battle against worst enemy and not a simple machine made from metal and plastic, without a soul and mind — judging by the way he stares at the joystick beneath his hands though, you're afraid he might actually start throwing punches at the thick glass separating him from the plushie.
With a flourish, he jams in his first coin.
A giggle escapes you, sweet and lighthearted, despite the gravity etched into his facial expression, but he doesn't pay much attention to you. Instead, he glares at the claw, his brows furrowed in deep concentration as he maneuvers it just above the plush before he slams the button with palm of his hand and leans forward.
His nose is almost pressed up against the window, though he doesn't seem to care much about how foolish he actually looks. No, he's too caught up in watching the claw descend slowly, teetering before it latches — well, sort of grazes — the plush. The strawberry trembles, then it tumbles back into the pile.
"Y'know, I read somewhere these machines are always rigged. Maybe we could just get ice cream instead?" You ask with a grin, leaning against him.
"Rigged?" He scoffs, offering you an offended look before he turns back towards the machine with narrowed eyes. His mouth curves into a soft frown as he fiddles in the pocket of his pants, searching for some lose change to feed the machine with. "This? Rigged? Listen, my pride’s on the line. I’m not letting some overpriced heap of metal and gears get the best of me. I have a reputation to uphold here."
"Alright, go on," you snort amusedly, motioning towards the claw machine. "I won't stop you from wasting more money, Gin."
One coin turns into five, then ten.
At this point, he's already stringing together foul insults you didn't even know were part of his vocabulary, sputtering curses and excuses under his breath like this machine was probably designed by aliens and if I were twenty years younger, I’d dismantle this thing with my bare hands while his hands maneuver the claw, tightening dangerously around the joy sticks.
There's a vein popping between his creased brows, pulsing steadily as Gintoki's frustration rises to something akin to sheer hatred for the machine. The knuckles of his fingers turn white under the brute force of his grasp around the controls, so intense that you actually think you can hear the wires snap under the building tension of his strength.
"How about I give it a try, hm?" You offer with a wide grin, sneakily reaching for the controls, but you only come as far as brushing the tips of your fingers over the surface before Gintoki is already stopping you.
“Hey, hey, don’t go underestimating me," he tuts with one hand gently clasped around your wrist, slowly shaking his head as if you just insulted his entire bloodline by offering to try and win the plushie yourself. "If I don’t beat this thing, what kind of samurai am I? I’ll be known as the guy who lost a duel to a strawberry plush. Can’t have that on my resume.”
With a sigh — and perhaps a hint of desperation — he inserts yet another coin. Slowly, the claw drifts down for the nth time that day, wobbles unsteadily, and, in a miracle, grips the strawberry plush. Your jaw drops in disbelief and your boyfriend inhales sharply, clenching his fists and grinding his teeth, his expression eerily unreadable as he presses the button.
"Come on," he mumbles, a single drop of sweat trailing down his temple. "Come on, don't disappoint me."
The claw begins its painfully slow journey upwards and for a second, you're convinced he might actually win this time — both your faces are pressed up against the window, your hot breath fogging up the window as the two of you watch every small movement, completely mesmerized.
But then, the machine quivers and, with a devastating drop that causes both of you to scream in horror, the claw releases its hold and sends the strawberry plush back into the endless pile. For a moment, you just gape through the glass, trying to process what just happened before you slowly turn your face to catch a glimpse of Gintoki.
"Y'know," he says quietly, mindlessly staring off into space. "Maybe I was wrong. Some things are just... unattainable."
Disappointment hangs to every word he speaks, lips curved into a soft pout and — wait a second, are those seriously tears pricking at the corners of his eyes!? God, he's so dramatic, it's almost adorable.
"Gintoki, you know it's fine, right?" You smile softly, lifting your hand to give his arm a reassuring squeeze. "It’s a silly plush. I’d rather have you win me some takoyaki or, like, a bottle of strawberry milk. Besides... you've already won the most important thing."
"And that would be?"
"My heart, you idiot," you reply with a chuckle, nudging him with your elbow.
He glances at you, a little surprised, and then he quickly looks away, scratching the back of his head in embarrassment. “Geez, you’re so easy to please. How’d I get so lucky?”
Before you can answer, he slips an arm around you to pull you closer and presses a chaste kiss to the crown of your head.
“Alright, no more of this sappy stuff. C’mon, I’ll get you some ice cream and a good ol' strawberry milk. Forget the stupid plush," he announces proudly like you were the one sobbing crocodile tears over a lost game against a machine mere seconds ago. Still, you don't fail to notice how his cheeks flush and the corners of his mouth twitch into a small smile — the tears have subsided along with his overdramatic act, the catcher machine apparently long forgotten as he drags you away.
But as you walk out of the arcade with his arm around your shoulders, you notice he keeps glancing back at the machine, almost like he's promising to come back and try again someday. Sure, he's been defeated by nothing more than metal and gears, but with you here, nestled safely against his side, he looks more than satisfied.

– first time clubbing with boyfriend!san
fic type: headcanon
pairing: choi san x fem!reader
description: just san taking you to the club for a night out after seeing you so stressed with studying
genre: fluff (?), mildly suggestive, established relationship
warning/s: use of alcohol, pet names (if i missed anything else pls lmk!)
wc: 1.1k
a/n: this is supery dupery self indulgent LMAO and as a giggly drunk myself, i'd like to have a choi san too pls!
* i would rlly appreciate it if you reblog and leave some feedbacks btw!
— !¡☆
UNI was stressing you out
all the studying had your head always drowning in books and you rarely leaving your room
your boyfriend, choi san, knew he had to do something
now, san had a lot of options in his head on how to help you take a break
bcos even if you kept insisting that you didn't need one
san KNEW that it was only a matter of time before you burst and break down
and so he surprises you while you're eating dinner with him one night,
"do you wanna do something fun tomorrow night?" "what? san, you know i can't afford to-"
"please?" he cuts you off, PLEADING
and who were you to say no to a pouting san?
you were ALWAYS a weak woman for him
"fine," you say, giving in. "what do you have in mind?"
"wanna go clubbing with me, baby?"
as soon as those words left his mouth, he sees it
sees the way your eyes sparkle with something akin to excitement and then you're blurting out,
"oh god, yes!"
the following night, san enters your bedroom after he was done getting ready
his hair was slicked back, he was dressed in a black button down shirt with the first two buttons unbuttoned
a silver necklace dangling on his neck, a sliver of his chest exposed
he's wearing black slacks and a belt with silvery chains hanging on it
since this will be your first night out, he wanted to look good for you
and boy was it a pleasant surprise when he enters your room and see you all dolled up from head to toe
"well, aren't you a sight to see?" san marvels while he watches you apply lipstick
you were oozing with such allure in a dress you're wearing for the first time that san thinks he's severely beguiled with you
and so it goes without saying that his eyes never left you even until you left the house
the only time san's gaze breaks away from you was when he was driving
arriving at the club, san immediately turns to you and asks,
"hey, i know, we're already here and all but i just wanna say that if you wanna back out and go home, we still can, just say the word and-"
san knew just how much your family coddled you while growing up
and you've only started to venture out of your comfort zone when you met him
so he understands how settings like this might overwhelm-
"are you kidding me?" you gave him an incredulous look, cutting off his rambling
"i wanna get hammered!" you shout against the blaring club music
and then you were the one pulling him further inside past the sweaty bodies and the heavy smell of alcohol and the blinding neon lights
"unfortunately i wont be getting my usual today, so i'll just have a soda ," san says since he'll be driving. "but, hmm, maybe a tequila sunrise for this pretty lady right here" he tells the bartender and winks at you
you roll your eyes, your gaze shifting to the dancefloor
"can i dance…later?" you ask san
san barks out a laugh and pinches your cheek
"i won't be stopping you tonight, baby, so go ahead. tonight will be all about you," he whispers these in your ear, goosebumps trailing your skin
you haven't drunk anything yet, but you already felt hot just like that
when your drinks do came, you surprise san at how you basically drunk it in one draft
"baby, hey, hey, we got all night!" he chuckles trying to get you to slow you down
soon, one tequila sunrise became five, and you were already red from the drinks and laughter
you were a giggly drunk how cute
"i think," you slur, pointing at san and then abruptly standing that you slightly wobble due to dizziness. "i think i'm ready to hit the dancefloor"
san grabs a hold of your arm, asking if do you want him to escort you to the center but you brushed him off
you were still giggling when you walked away
while you were dancing the night away, san just keeps staring at you
watching every move you make, every smile popping out to grace your lips, and every glance you sent his way
you were mouthing for him to come join you but he shook his head
san wanted you to have your fun for now
he wanted you to let loose so badly that you'll be screaming at his face tomorrow morning for letting you drink that much
but then, deeper into the night, he starts noticing that more eyes were on you now and that your intoxicated self remained oblivious to it
san downs the remaining liquid in his canned drink, licks his lips, and leaves the bar, deciding it was finally time to join you
unaware, your dancing was starting to become bolder as you become hotter with all the alcohol coursing through your system and all the body heat emitted by everyone surrounding you
and then you feel hands on your waist
a familiar scent filling your senses and you immediately knew it was san who was behind you
you let your body become slack against his while he rocks your bodies from side to side, his hands pulling you even closer and face leaning in
you bring your hand up, caressing his face while he speaks to you in a low tone
"are you having fun, baby?" his lips brush against the shell of your ear making you shiver
you reply with a mere hum, giggling as his hot breath tickles your face
"i take it you loved my suggestion then?" "mhmm, i loveddd it san, i love youu" you mumble, smiling with your eyes closed
san chuckles at your drunk self, he doesn't really think you'll end up remembering MOST of this tomorrow
but at least you had fun
and so was he, san thinks as he smirks
later on not so subtly meeting the gaze of this one person he caught looking at you since earlier
by the time he was about to drive the both of you back home
san steps out of the car, heavily exhaling, after laying you down in the passenger seat
he needed a breather especially that he didn't expect the scenario of you grinding on him earlier at the dancefloor
san left the house with with you, hand in hand, and two of his buttons unbuttoned
and now, he comes home with you passed out in his arms and his button down shirt open
