Chevrolet Astrovettes, 1969. The crew of Apollo 12 - astronauts Pete Conrad, Richard Gordon, and Alan Bean - ordered custom-painted Corvette C3s. Each astronaut ordered a matching Corvette Stingray coupe, powered by 390hp, 427ci Turbo-Jet V8 engines with 4-speed wide-range transmission and PosiTraction 3.08 rear axles. Bean (the fourth person to walk on the moon who passed away in 2018) played a key role in the design of the Corvettes, choosing the black on gold color scheme. The design included distinctive black “wings” styled by Alex Tremulis, the industrial and automotive designer. The C3 Corvettes became known as the Astrovettes with the only difference between the cars being the red, white, and blue badges on each fender used to identify which car belonged to which astronaut

His energy not matching hers used to bother me. Now I see he did try, but the sorrow in his eyes was clear. He knew what was coming, knew it would hurt. His eyes silently apologized for the tears she'd shed and the harsh words a younger him would soon throw at her.

I rewatched TIA/DOTM and Im... once you know its melody in that suit, once you look and focus on river in those episodes you see a completely different sub-set of plot.
How melody was terrified and reaching for her mother, how she escaped her space suit to try and help her mother who shot at her earlier, managing to escape because the doctor creates an unintention diversion for long enough that she can run off.
And then you see river.
How river has a mask on nearly the entire time. She figures out what is happening and she just walls off. She smiles and laughs and she looks okay until you see her when she thinks no one is looking. When she is truely terrified, seeing the silence in the tunnels. When the doctor talks about finding the girl and her face just goes blank, and theres panic in her eyes.
How she spins around with a smile and a gun, flirting with the doctor who calls her his friend, while her eyes are darting about the room in barely concealed panic.
How when the doctor asks who she is, who she killed, her face is carefully blank and she doesnt even try answering.

my love,
by the time you are reading this, you will be on another planet, a new home. we will have succeeded in our mission. i have to believe this.
i’m afraid i have flown too close; my wings are burned and my ship is dying. i no longer know what it means to be warm.
humanity wasn’t meant to last forever.
do you think that icarus -- who tasted his own wax as he fell -- had flown too close on purpose? that he had wanted to feel the warmth of the sun on his skin?
i feel as though i have done the same.
i will see you again. i swear it.
your star,
alex

First-Ever Solar System Family Portrait (1990).
In February 1990, Voyager 1 was speeding out of the solar system — beyond Neptune and about 3.7 billion miles (6 billion kilometers) from the Sun — when mission managers commanded it to look back toward home for a final time. It snapped a series of 60 images that were used to create the first "family portrait" of our solar system.
The image series contain's the famous image that would become known as the Pale Blue Dot, revealing Earth was a tiny dot within a scattered ray of sunlight. Voyager 1 was so far away that - from its vantage point — Earth was a crescent about a pixel.
In addition to Earth, Voyager 1 captured images of Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, Jupiter, and Venus. Mars was obscured by scattered sunlight bouncing around in the camera and Mercury was too close to the Sun, and dwarf planet Pluto was too tiny, too far away and too dark to be detected.
The family portrait remains the first and only time a spacecraft has attempted to photograph our home solar system. Only three spacecraft have been capable of making such an observation from such a distance: Voyager 1, Voyager 2 and New Horizons.
