Long time no see.

I would like to apologize to my dedicated readers. I have been grieving the loss of my grandmother, along with trying to finish school. It was far too much, and I came close to giving up and dropping everything but 1) I ain't a quitter and B) I could just transfer my suffering and angst to my readers. Yay!

I can infodump better now.

So....Prepare for a LONG list on information about Astro in this AU specifically.

(this will be using my old doodles i had on tiktok, plus some new ones.)

Wishful Curtains is an AU where everything went right and Gardenview is still open to present day. Nothing goes wrong and everyone is fine. Everyone except Astro. Astro is well aware about the falsehood of his reality and how none of it is even happening in the real canon. He's become disconnected from everyone because of this.

Later, he discovered that his closet had become a gateway towards other worlds. Thus allowing him to become the dimensional traveller he is. With two companions, Nebula and Nova, he observes the beauty of other worlds and find himself curious in how other worlds run themselves and the concept they base themselves around.

Astro is percieved very differently when he visits other worlds. while the people of his world see him as the toon we all usually see, others see him as a taller, more cloaked fellow.

(I keep forgetting his sleeping cap.)

While the cloak takes on a different look, becoming misty and creating a fog around him, it still acts like a normal blanket.

This is how he looks like in the world inbetween his world and the gateways to other.

That is called the Dreamscape.

While the worlds, aren't necessarily Dreams, the varient of Astro that he becomes when entering makes it feel as if it was a dream and not exactly real.

The worlds in the Dreamscape are often represented as illuminating blue orbs. These orbs are often floating around and making up something similar to a night sky within the void

Astro is very protective of these orbs. He enjoys his travels and would hate to lose access to other worlds. He enters the Dreamscape to watch the orbs and make sure that there was no tampering. While, orbs aren't fragile and, if they were brought into other worlds, could be used as weapons. They still have an ability to break and if they break, they have very little chance of reforming and coming back.

In addition to the protection of the protection of these orbs are Nebula and Nova, Astro's starry companions. They are who brought Astro into being the traveller he is. Nova is a confident, brave, ambitious star with the danger sense of a nickel on the ground. He wears a bandana and often likes looking like a superhero. Nebula is a calculated, knowledgable, and sort of snarky. She is often the one make the lead decisions and deterring Astro from doing anything rash or ignorant if the time calls for it. She wears glasses much similar to the Brightney of Asteo's world.

While, they can show up realistically anywhere, they chose to reside in Astro's AU. They created the Dreamscape in Astro's closet and is responsible for encouraging Astro to venture through the different universes, leaving his and exploring others. These two are both aware of the construction of the worlds and knows whenever another is created.

While, Nebula dislikes Astro's typical shy nature that deters him from really visiting worlds and instead just staring at them through the lens of the orb. She finds Astro's curiosity sweet enough. She worries more about his safety as some worlds can prove to be too much to handle. Astro is strong enough but not universe ending powerful. Nebula and Nova prove useful as shields. While not indestrucible, they're very durable and tank very heavy hitting blows. It's not often that they'll fight anyways since Astro usually keeps a distance from Twisteds.

Other Toons in his world would sometimes need to call him so he can start working or just for a favor. Astro is the only one who has access to the Dreamscape so if any other Toon opened the curtains, they could just see a sleeping Astro and usually not bother him afterwards.

This applies to all but one Toon.

That is about it for now, I'd go more indepth about his magic but that is a story for another day so for now, enjoy these! I doodled very quickly for most of these as it was SUPER late at night and my back hurts. Free me.

⚠️IMPORTANT UPDATE⚠️

People have told me that I don't owe anyone an explanation, but I hate going back on my word.

Hurricane Helene and Milton have displaced me and my family drastically. Thanks to some friends in high places, I have been able to find some stability again while our house is under construction. They know who they are, and I am forever grateful. And because of midterms being thrown off, I've had to throw myself into my studies while simultaneously getting my house in order. I had to pick up other jobs because my other one was completely closed after the storm due to renovations. So I do apologize for the wait, it wasn't supposed to be this long. I am safe, so there's that!

As a treat, I will be posting BLOOD ON THE TRACKS, starting October 26th-31st to celebrate the last few days of the spooky month. There are only 5 chapters, but the last one may be an authors note, or and extra day in case I fall behind again. They will be posted at 10PM EST.

In terms of MISTY, it will be put on hiatus as BLOOD ON THE TRACKS has become my priority. The good news is that I can use some of my experience with the storm to finish writing! The bad news is that I may not be able to MISTY before the new year. I really wanted to finalize it by it's one year anniversary, but that may not happen. There are only 3 chapters left, but I'm trying to tie up themes and loose ends so that the ending is cohesive and makes sense. I was going to post the next chapter last week, but I've been so unhappy with it, and felt it was way too short compared to other chapters. It wouldn't have been satisfying for either party, and I would rather take my time and produce something I'm proud of than rush to make readers happy. It will most likely be posted in November. That being said, TIANAMI TUESDAY'S will also be on hiatus while I play catch up. Hopefully everything will be back to normal by December, and the new Tianami story I'm working on will be posted in the new year *wink*. That is the plan, but life is unpredictable. I won't make any concrete promises, but know that I am doing my best to create content for yall.

Kinktober is obviously cancelled which works for me because I didn't really want to do it. Requests are open for any writing prompts to make up for it! If I do end up posting the few that I have, it will be on AO3 so that I can backdate it and make it look like I'm a consistent author. I may do another month challenge, because they truly are fun, but this month is a no. I do apologize for that! Maybe next year.

I'm so sorry for all these problems and apologies, and I will make it up to you all. I simply ask for a bit of understanding as I try and return to normalcy.

No, it wasn’t the presence of bashfulness usually found in juvenile couples, they had been married for five years now, and dated in high school. There was nothing to be shy about.

And no, it wasn’t an intense desire that lurked in more sentimental moods, not even with Tiana’s lingering finger tips ghosting over his warm body in the cool of the night.

That’s what made the feeling even stranger.

It was dark.

It was plain odd.

Nanami had a very keen sense of discernment when it came to the beings beyond; he had retired from a life of sorcery 3 years ago, but to Tiana he had simply retired early from a day job as a regular salaryman. He couldn’t divulge her into such dangers, being together was already a risk in itself. Not to mention, Tiana was very superstitious and had a certain level of discernment of her own. While she called them “loa”, Nanami knew them as cursed spirits. Some may call them demons, ghosts, phantoms, the paranormal; they were all very similar by how they interacted with the physical realm.

And that was usually by causing some sort of mischief and a sense of despair.

An influx of cursed spirits had begun to infiltrate their home, hiding in dark corners or shaded areas, skirting around the borders and slithering under their floorboards. It would wake Tiana up at night in a frenzy, and while the spiritual cleansing she did with her sage and incense helped, it didn’t permanently rid themselves of the problem. So Nanami, who didn’t even break his exorcism streak to help the daunted citizens on the streets of New Orleans, found himself back on the clock around the clock. When he decided to move here with Tiana, he knew he was bound to run into those fleshless beings, he just never expected them to run amuck in his own home.

Especially to this extent.

Gyro very much let himself become a workaholic, therefore he hasn’t had a day to himself without thinking of work at least once in many years. Fenton and Boyd help him learn to find the correct balance, of course.

When he finally starts to relax for once, he comes to find he likes doing crosswords, sudoku, and the like. Even when it’s not part of his job, Gyro genuinely likes more ‘intellectual’ hobbies. He’s always been and always will be a nerd (affectionate)

Boyd LOVES Darkwing Duck because he’s the type of kid who will watch literally any show and think it’s amazing regardless of whether or not it actually is. Gyro doesn’t get Darkwing Duck, but will watch it with him if asked.

Gyro takes a long time to come to terms with the Moonlanders living on Earth (it only happens towards the end of the show or after, I feel like) and is pretty much the last person to do so. He’s still intimidated by Penumbra, though.

It was a long process, but I do like to think Gyro makes it up to Fenton for how he used to act and they become friends outside of work. And that Fenton waits for Gyro to be the one to take initiative with most things in their friendship unless explicitly given permission to do so himself.

Boyd likes to wear his dad’s lab coats because they’re so rarely used anyway, and in his own words: “I have the best dad ever!” Gyro insists this doesn’t make him misty-eyed, but it does and the whole lab knows it.
