So recently I read @ryehouses 's 'a simple thing' again and UGH. I love this fic SO MUCH. The characters, the characterization, the heart, the Mandalorian(s) of it all... I love it to pieces. One of my favorite parts is the meeting at Krownest where everyone gets blinded by the embodiment of Manda that is Din Djarin. King of my heart.

These drawings are technically not from those chapters, but inspired by them. I just think Din's pretty with blood on his face and also with snow on his eyelashes. That's all.

Leveled Dark Knight from 44 to level 51(!), with the hero of several runs of Stone Vigil with friends, one run of Dzemael Darkhold, and a couple runs of Keeper of the Lake through duty finder

Relatedly, I did the dark knight level 45 and 50 quest and got accordingly emotional. I also did the level 50 quest to start the 50-60 DRK quests, huzzah

Turned in a bunch of gear from all the stone vigil runs and got more grand company seals as a result

Ich bekam Donnerstag nachts einen Anruf, wurde gefragt ob ich mit auf die RPV möchte und gurkte einen Tag später in's tiefste Ruhrgebiet.

Die RPV ist eine Rollenspiel-Messe. Wie Comic Con, nur noch unzugänglicher für die general public. Die Stimmung ist dadurch ganz faszinierend, dass alle Hauptzielgruppen (TTRPG-Spieler, Comic fans, Cosplayer und LARPer) allesamt fest davon überzeugt sind, die jeweils einzigen vernünftigen Leute dort zu sein. Alle anderen Untergruppen sind der wahre gesellschaftliche Bodensatz, wir hingegen sind die guten Nerds. Wir belächelten uns alle fröhlich gegenseitig. Wie endlos bürgerlich.

Faszinierend war alleine schon die Gliederung der Messehallen. In Themenbereiche aufgetrennt- leider waren alle Bereiche mit irgendwelchen references und Neologismen betitelt worden, die höchstens zufällig auf die dort angesiedelten Stände hindeuteten. Wir gingen so ca drei Mal am "Asia-Verse" vorbei (keiner von uns konnte sich für Animes begeistern) bevor irgendwer raffte dass dort ausschließlich Star Wars merchandise ausgestellt wurde. Asien als ferne Galaxie zu verkaufen ist doch bestimmt auch irgendwie politisch unkorrekt, da könnte man doch bestimmt nen Skandal rausklopfen.

Gut, to be fair: wenn man die Star Wars Asia Halle durchquerte und die Hintertür in's Freie nahm stolperte man über einen einzigen Bubble Tea Verkäufer, um den sich ein paar Rudel Cosplayer gescharrt hatten. Ich war mir sicher, das tatsächliche Asia Verse gefunden zu haben.

Auf der Suche nach dem Ausgang aus der Star Wars Ecke marschierte einer von uns auf eine Tür zu, öffnete sie und drehte dann mit einem Gesichtsausdruck ab den ich sonst nur von mor in extremen Stresssituationen kenne. "Cosplayer-Umkleide" war ihr einziger Kommentar.

Zwischendurch standen wir auf einem der Gänge im 2. Stock an's Geländer gelehnt da und sahen uns Leute in der Halle unter uns an. "Menschen gucken" ist auch so' deutscher Instinkt, oder? So oder so, ich sah einen meiner LARP-Bekannten unter uns vorbeilaufen. Oh, sweet! Ich zeigte ganz begeistert auf ihn, freute mir 'nen Ast und wollte eigentlich nach ihm rufen. Dann fiehlen mir zwei Dinge ein: 1. Ich kenne seinen echten Vornamen nicht, und 2. sein in-game Name ist "Bastard". Ich kann mich beim besten Willen nicht, selbst auf ner gottverdammten Rollenspielmesse, über's Geländer lehnen und "BASTARD!??" in die Menge brüllen. Nein, dann kann ich einpacken. Meine Mimik macht kurz Ausdruckstanz bei der Vorstellung. Der Kollege neben mir folgt meinem Blick: "Mögen wir den nicht?". Nein, doch, wir mögen den, wir sind nur sehr conflicted was seinen Namen angeht. Egal. Unter uns verschwand der Bastard in der Menge.

Zwischendurch wurden wir am Süßwarenstand angeschwemmt. Hier wird's kurz relevant dass wir zwar nicht in Vollmontur unterwegs waren, dafür aber die hyperrealistische Orang Utan-Babypuppe umhertrugen. Ich weiß auch nicht warum. Das Teil ist gruselig, leider aber auch ein Erbstück. Anyways. Wir standen mit Orang Utan auf der Schulter am Süßigkeitenstand, als eine der thailändischen Verkäuferinnen auf uns zugeschossen kam. Ihre abartig offensive Verkaufsstrategie bestand daraus, uns wahllose Kostproben in die Hand zu drücken. Sie wollte meinem Freund mit Affe auf Schulter gerade eine getrocknete Kiwi zuschieben als ihr dann der Menschenaffe auffiehl. Sie riss die Kiwi zurück und machte einen Satz in die andere Richtung, machte dabei ein Geräusch in einer Frequenz die nur Fledermäuse und Kinder hören können. Fair, sie dachte halt das Vieh wäre echt (und dementsprechend potenziell bissig).

"Daqiqi 935-977 CE (also Dakiki) wrote about a thousand verses on Zoroastrian history and beliefs before he was murdered by his servant. Significantly, Daqiqi had started his Shahnameh, not with the dawn of history, but with the Kayanian King Gushtasp's (Vishtasp's) patronage of Zarathushtra's religion.

He was the first to undertake the creation of the national epic of Iran, the Shahnameh, but was killed in 977 CE after only completing 1,000 verses. His work was continued by his contemporary Ferdowsi, who would later become celebrated as the most influential figure in Persian literature."

Many thanks to Fereshteh Amanat-Kowssar at Yale University for pointing this out. I have translated the poem based on the original, which makes far more sense than the sung version. Kufr means hiding or covering up, and the word kāfir is used to describe one who “covers up” or denies the truth. Rumi’s words, though apparently blasphemous, are closer to the truth.

Aedric is a summoner/omni-healer in my fics, yes! 🥰 (Inspired by the fact that I started the game as a summoner then turned into a healer main down the road lol.)

Since I've already written a fic about G'raha using the Vanish spell for discreet library sex (here you go!), I may write one about Aedric using magic now. 🤔 The benefits of a couple who both are well-versed in the arcane.

I'd like to imagine Aedric would use some form of magical restraints on G'raha. Maybe something to hold his wrists or ankles together? Or perhaps, some healing magic to soothe after a little bit of rough play?

Though, there is something in me that's saying he'd use AST's Earthly Star to show G'raha the stars in the comfort of their bedroom. But then again, Earthly Star turns into "Giant Dominance" if left to detonate on its own, right? Something something being dominated by a partner who is quite large compared to you-

some aurelia facts i am rotating bc i post about her the least of my pcs

negging is a love language. in a shared verse alone she warns sybelle to shut up about her feet hurting or she'll have one of the clerics use daylight -- the dnd equivalent of threatening your neurodivergent friend with the overhead lights. questions how hel is the most hideous beast to walk ao's creation but she always has two gorgeous elf men hanging off of her. asks if x*n disappoints them as a son will her wife be EATING their child... it all comes from a place of good-natured ribbing, but there's rough edges around her affinity for anyone. unsurprisingly in her solo playthrough, ast*rion is her bestie.

a hunter ranger! back home she's the local emergency services taking down threats that can't be handled by farmers with pitchforks or her mother's druid circle. she's highly effective at her job, and definitely gives the vibe of someone who is terrifying to deal with in her element before the tadpole nerfed her. there's some implications that given how dnd inheritance works, she might have gained an edge from her father coming from a society of monster hunters, being gur and all.

the daughter of an archdruid up north. or, should i say, the latest child of an archdruid up north. also the only half-elf on the family tree. aurelia's mother is old even by druid standards, though her elven blood and rites she's undertaken have rendered archdruid arianrhod eternally young. aurelia has, on one discord thread occasion, harassed a clearly wizened elf in another grove with 'i'm telling mother,' which puts into perspective just how old her family line runs just in her own generation.

actually the shortest of my tavs? she's 5'2". tiny but mighty. even the half-drow valas beats her by about three inches. she makes up for it by being lean but jacked -- to elven standard, she's basically a bodybuilder. to every other race, she's just compact but strong.

per forgotten realms canon, she actually had a reverse coming out scenario. where bisexuality is the norm in society, she had to come out and say she was only attracted to one gender. yes i do play this for laughs slightly as a dyke who is still in the closet.

yes it was very kind of *rpheus to give her and her queen his dragons to fight the lich bitch. hers is still named fluffy now though <3 she acknowledges one day this dragon is going to eat her, and she will 100% deserve it.

Lady Eighth was one that she could never stand, and Lord Second made her constantly uncomfortable by simply existing near her.
