Had to get one of those wheels ive seen going around where you put the oc and how they feel about the character and how the characters feel back about them, but with a twist lol (most of them are haters).

The ones he are most tolerant with are grim, ace, deuce, jack and kalim. Only one he could possible share with would either be kalim, jack or deuce, because of how he sorta is annoyed by ace.

Of course cant forget how he feels about you :) he thinks you are very very very special and he loves you a lot <3

He likes grim a lot, seeing as grim isn't one of the students that is oh so annoying. He warms up to the monster, seeing how gently you take care of grim, wanting to do the same. It feels, domestic, in his opinion.

Grim likes Eden a lot too, he has never belittled him, he has always made sure to feed grim along with Eden being very warm (and therefore very nice to sleep on). In grims opinion, he thinks you should go with Eden, cuz he is a good candidate for marriage (grim has been bribed with love, affection, and tuna).

He takes good care of the cat son, making sure he is healthy and happy.

Now onto pda. Eden are only okay with you touching the wings, the tattoo and the core, being as they are quite sensitive. The scar is still off limits, but maybe if you make him warm up to you even more you might be able to-

He loves when you help him with his wings, it's one of the best feelings out there. Fo mind that only you (and grim) can touch the wings, anyone else is off limits, ESPECIALLY ROOK HE IS FORBIDDEN TO TOUCH THEM.

Eden facts!! He has lil "ear-holes" like birds, just behind the feathers. Be careful around that part when you help him with his feathers, otherwise you might have a pouty and angry Eden on tour hands.

His eyes also glow in the dark! It's the scariest during the nightly snack runs down to the kitchen, seeing him suddenly stare at you, but you slowly get used to it!

You don't know where the extra eyes sometimes come from tho...

Ash: ... ... ...well. you know. she thought he was a creep- which, to be fair, is a little bit true. Annoying, pushy, borderline stalkerish...she also thought his contacts were weird.

Aiden: He thought she seemed really interesting :) he was very excited to talk to her and he thought that her sitting in front of them was a sign she wanted to start a conversation. Thought her hair was pretty.

3. Did any of their friends and family want to get them together?

Taylor thinks they are super cute together! So does Logan, one time he offered to check their star sign compatibility ^_^ Ben is totally supportive of whatever Aiden wants to do, will be his "wingman" if he asks. Tyler thinks they should just suck it up and get together already. Her parents...ehh...they trust her to make good decisions, even if they think Aiden is "eccentric" (they're still on good terms with him tho!), Jessica and Daniel are just happy he found somebody.

Hahaha hahaha. Yes! Of course- Aiden didn't think Ash would ever like him like that so he kinda just buried his feelings since he DEEPLY values his friendship with her. At the beginning she was kinda freaked out about it, but she accepted it pretty quickly.

6. If you had told one of them that the other would be their soul mate, what would they think?

Depends when, but I assume this means when they just met.

Ashlyn. She told him kind of bluntly that she had feelings for him and that she wanted to get that off her chest (Taylor gave her the advice). Aiden was ecstatica to say the least.

Aiden. She got kinda awkward and couldn't say it back, but he didn't take it personally because she hugged him afterwards.

Ash is quality time as mentioned above. She doesn't need grand gestures, or gifts, or him reassuring her constantly, she just wants to...be around him.

Aiden is definitely touch. It's easy, it makes him feel good, and he feels like it expresses what he wants to say better than words. But he really likes it when Ash reassures him with words of affirmation anyways.

3. Who uses cheesy pick-up lines?

Do you even have to ask? Aiden pretty much greets her with one every day and Ash still hasn't understood a single one. There's also like, a 25% chance he will forget the pick up line half way through delivering it so he'll just bungle the whoel thing up.

Aiden kinda hovers around her in public so PDA is a given. She's got a pretty strict "no pda at school" rule tho. She's okay with him putting his arm around her or putting their heads together, but no kissing. Cuddling at home? That's fine, she likes napping with him.

Ash isn't super picky, she generally prefers something they can do at home. She really likes watching documentaries about her special interests while they lie on the couch together.

Aiden likes doing puzzles with her, they get to talk together while doing one of his favourites activities :) he likes to go out too, but he doesn't want Ash to get overstimulated, so they'll usually go out to some deserted place at night.

They both suck at it lmao 💀 but Aiden calms down a lot faster than Ash does, so technically Ash is better.

They both are extremely protective. And like in a feral way ngl. They WILL choose violence lol.

Ash likes physical affection because she doesn't really know how to respond to verbal affection. Aiden is fine with either, a cuddle or a compliment is good for him :) Slight preference towards physical touch tho, and verbal is like a little treat for him since Ash almost never does it.

I let you go to Red's playlist for that :D (But I recommend "High on Life", good song that explains Aiden's view on Ash)

Ash doesn't use nicknames a lot, she just calls him Aiden, or something like "stupid, idiot, dumbass, imbecile" when he's annoyed her. Mr. Durable is the closest thing to a pet name she will give him lol.

Aiden will call Ash every single freaking thing you can imagine. Baby, babe, Bae, my love if he's feeling dramatic, Red because he's obvious like that, "wifey" is he's feeling fearless lmao. And then there's the *weird* petnames; "my sweet ketchup packet", "my favourite little rubix cube", "my beautiful princess with a disorder". All of these make Ash want to rip her hair out.

Neither of them do in on purpose 🤡 Aiden will just hyperfixate on stuff Ash tells him and remember it for special occasions. Ash is more about the every day little things, reminds him to drink water, sends him food in case he forgot it, asks how he's sleeping.

Aiden had a whole thing planned before Ash asked him for the tax benefits.

They prolly got married at city hall because they're not religious and also a big wedding in front of a lot of people stresses Ash out. The squad came and both sets of parents 👍🏽 They prolly had a small party afterwards to celebrate.

I LOVE YOO 220 Thoughts

1. What excites me the most on this episode is, we got a glimpse of how Yui abused Nol in the past! (Not that I enjoy seeing Nol being abused, far from it, but I'm glad we finally see the plot moving) This is the discussion back in ep 150:

And with today's episode, we now see how Yui utilizes her power as the owner of the hospital: interfering with the doctors and nurses' decision, having their license revoked if they try to defy her, rewarding them with money -or anything- if they do as she say... Of course Yui's hand would stay clean if everyone is too scared of her! It really give us a glimpse of how she abused Nol in the past. Ugh. Now I wonder, did he also had the nurse he's close with removed from his sight because of Yui? Did she also gaslighted him into thinking it's his fault? 😒

Hearing Yui's argument is laughable actually. When a patient is unconscious, a doctor has the right to do some tests based on medical judgement in order to reach the correct diagnosis for the right treatment, because a sleeping patient can't tell the doctor what's wrong with them afterall. She has no right to veto as a mother too(?), since Kousuke is already an adult. Now, whether the CEO of the hospital has the right to revoke a medical lisence based on personal opinion -- or not, I can't tell because I don't know the laws. But well, money and power goes a long way, sadly.

2. At least Nol wakes up with the person he care by his side. Kousuke wakes up with no one in sight, and the sound of arguments outside. Quimchee just loves hammering down Kousuke's sign of neglection, huh. As much of an asshole Kousuke is, he's still the victim of abuse just like Nol :(

4. Now, about the reason why Yui is so adamant not letting Kousuke be tested by a literal professional. Many people has guessed it's because Yui doesn't want anyone to find out Kousuke is not Rand's biological son, but I don't think we're there yet. Hansuke mentioned basic tests; as far as I know, the basic, standard tests don't include blood-type test or DNA test. It usually only covered the potentials of:

Irregularity in blood (haemoglobin, platetet, RBC counts)

Infection (WBC, Lymphocyte counts)

Liver disfunction (AST, ALT)

Kidney disfunction (Creatinin, Urea, Bilirubin)

Diabetes (blood sugar)

Cholesterol-based illness (LDL, HDL, triglycerides)

Irregularity in electrolytes (Na, K, Cl, Ca)

And that's the gist of it. There's not much to get, unless Yui doesn't want anyone to find out Kousuke is actually diabetic? Maybe she inserted diabetes medicines inside his food? Kousuke did say they have personal chefs, maybe they also received Yui's order. I kinda doubt it though, this seem like a stretch.

It's a different story if Hansuke wanted to check the possible substance inside Kousuke's body, though. Hansuke suspected Kousuke is under the influence; it's the easiest answer that could explain Kousuke's abnormal behavior.

This is just some wild theory but I suspect Yui inserted some antipsychotic drugs in his drink or food (remember the family chefs?) to keep Kousuke in check. If Hansuke finds out about it, it will reveal that Yui has been hiding the fact that Kousuke has some mental disorder, and that could jeopardize his position as the new CFO; that's why Yui doesn't want a blood work. Just a guess 💀

She knows which name that triggers him. Does it mean she doesn't want Kou to find out about Nessa (further, what she did to her)? Has Yui always used Kou's "ignorance" (memory issue) about Nessa's fate to let him mock Nol about her disappereance?

Nol you couldn't be more right. I look forward to see Kou finding out he has been mocking Nol's mom's absence when it's his own "dear mother" who "killed" her. The devastation...

6. I still don't get why would Yui throw away Rand's gift. If anything, I think it'd benefit her more if she give it to Kousuke. Something like: praising him, how he's done such a good job being a CFO that his father would give him an early expensive present, gaslight him into thinking it's not enough, but just a little more until he'd truly acknowledge him, etc. I thought he'd be easier to manipulate if he get enough reward (which he clearly didn't get)? It feels like Yui's manipulation is getting old. Idk, I thought a goal would be much sweeter if he get to taste it, so he'd work even harder. But so far, he didn't taste any of it.

But then it hit me. If Kousuke sees the real present, he'd know his father does care about him. He won't need Yui anymore, he'd start to rely on Rand, as in, the person. And Yui doesn't want that. She wants Kousuke to be fully in her control, she wants him to keep relying on Rand's image by her words; that Rand is a cold man who doesn't care about his family unless Kousuke surpassed him. She just... never let Kousuke to be free. (Which is why I realized Nol has the potential to be a much scarier manipulator than Yui, but that's another topic for another day).

7. Yui touching Kousuke's injured hand without apologizing is such a psychopath thing to do: lacking of guilt or empathy.

8. BAHAHA since we're almost at the end of the year, it's nice to see the reference of earlier episode!

Though, could this be a foreshadowing? If Shinae really becomes Kousuke's assistant in the future, would she be included in the future hospital inspection? Would she play a role in uncovering Nol and Kousuke's mistreatment in the hospital? Lol.

9. MEG!! AOEBJDDJ I hope she would return the gift to Kousuke, just like Shinae who return the bible to Nol! Kousuke needs to know Rand is more caring than he seemed and Yui is much more wicked than he thought! This is probably Meg's role as the member of the Black Team: to open Kousuke's eyes that he still has people who care for him as who he is.

So I was taking a look at the World's Perdition text for a Sothis fanfic I'm writing and I have to wanted to get your thoughts on something (sothis expert that you are)

The Agarthan talks about how they nuked 4 lands in their preemptive attack on Sothis. When I first read this I assumed they did this all in one go, but thinking on it it doesn't make too much sense. Unless they were worried about Sothis using some god magic to teleport out of the way (which, fair all things considered) they would have no reason to nuke FOUR cities/regions/countries at once. Sothis can't be that big that they needed to bomb all four to cover her.

So unless they were worried about her teleporting, that must mean they did this four separate times. Which means Sothis got f**king nuked, went to another city, and had this interaction:

Sothis: yo wtf just happened? Who nuked an entire city? Do you know how many people got murdered?

Leader of that city: um, well you see. The thing is... can you wait just one minute?

Leader dude (off to the side): guys you screwed up. The false god lived through the nuke.

Agarthan in a different city who has keys to the nukes: what do you mean she survived? Thinis got wiped out. The land vanished. She can't be alive.

Leader dude: well she right in front of me, asking what happened, so someone screwed up. Teleport me out of here and try again!

Then they nuke city number 2. And Sothis, again, survives and goes wtf. Presumably has that exact same conversation. Gets nuked again and yet again goes to another city to figure out why these people are killing their own cities, wiping out thousands at least. And then it happens again!!!

Like, no wonder Sothis is pissed. They did this to her four times! And it never worked!

Also!!! The book never actually states Sothis flooded the world. Only that the Agarthan expected her to. Which, given that they nuked her four separate times, I can't blame him for thinking. But they got the f*ck out of dodge before finding out so it's possible Sothis got nuked four times, found out the perpetrators went underground, and proceeded to shrug and coma herself to heal the world. It even lines up with Rhea's dialogue in Verdant Wind. Or the flood was her extinguishing the flames from the pillars of light, like the ones in that one fire canyon whose name I can't recall, and it was never meant to kill anyone. After all, the Agarthans literally nuked four of their own cities. There might not be that many left standing or they just got mixed with the humans Sothis creates to repopulate Fodlan after four lands got nuked while TWSITD stayed underground.

I've been trying to figure out how to write about the extreme nature of Sothis' divine retribution against the Agarthans as being unjust for attacking the whole for what may be the actions of a few (or just a particular cult), but it might've not happened in the first place!

Am I reading this wrong? I never thought TWSITD had any leg to stand on, but I was willing to entertain the idea that Sothis went too far with her counter attack in driving them all underground. It also gave a good parallel to Rhea being better in sparing the Elite's families which would show that she's ready to guide Fodlan in Sothis' place, but Sothis might not have even done that!

(Of course I haven't taken a look at Hopes if it confirms the flood actually happening, but I'm alright with ignoring that mess with what it did to... so many characters)

Have you read my longer posts about the "Ancient History of Fodlan"? I talk about the war between Sothis and the Agarthans with my thoughts on what happened. There is also some speculation on what the "Flood" really was. I do think Sothis went scorched earth on the Agarthans.

In terms of the Agarthans nuking Sothis and her surviving, there are several possiblities;

Sothis's dragon form really is that big that they need to blow up 4 countries to cover her.

They nuked her 4 seperate times like you suggested.

They also targeted lands with Nabateans in them out of spite.

They tried to nuke Sothis but some weird magic forced them away to different countries, much like Aillel.

Their aim sucks lol

Though.. I am not sure which one it is. The wording of the text makes it sound like the nukes were fired at the same time, and that Sothis still stood when several countries had been blasted off the map.

Personally? I think 1, 3 or 4.

But if you're writing a fic, don't worry too much about how canon you are to the lore. It's very vague and up to interpretation. Your thoughts are just as valid as mine.

i have a couple i really want to write soon! one is finishing foh/boh, which i should've done like 6 months ago haha, but i also have an idea for a mark/matt story where they've just started dating and no one really knows yet, but they end up at a club with elijah and greyson, drunk and one of them is sick, and they're caught making out on the dance floor. i really love their early relationship, especially when they're trying to hide it and it's just so obvious lmao.

17. talk about your writing and editing process

i feel like a moron answering this question bc it's just... so chaotic. whenever the muse strikes me (so like... either three times a week or once every three months lol) i literally have to sit down and crank out a story. doesn't matter what the plans were for that day, they are now cancelled lol. i sit at my regular work desk, i work in a word document, and i really just bang it out start to finish. editing happens the same day i write it (for the most part, sometimes i give it a day). a lot of my editing is rewriting sentences so they aren't all starting the same way, and moving scenes around (bc i do so much fucking scene jumping) and making sure that i'm not writing inside someone's head who isn't like my targeted main character (or characters) of the day. if i over edit, it becomes a huge mess so i try not to look too hard at it or i'd never ever post it hahaha.

DIALOUGE!! hahaha i really really love writing scenes of solely or almost solely dialogue. it comes really naturally to me and just flows out in a way that exposition does not. i also love being able to get into a character's head, to explore their inner thoughts and discover more about who they are. i love the stage of writing i'm at with the elliot's universe because all the characters feel really established and now i get to delve deeper into their backstories.

i have so many least favorites, as do we all i assume hahaha. first, and this is going to sound so crazy, but i really don't like writing the snz scenes LMAO. i love to reread them, i love that they're there, and i love writing the build up to them, but i get like lowkey embarrassed to write them, or i second guess myself (is it too much? is it not enough? is it realistic enough? are the sneezes in character?) and kind of dread it. i also hate editing, i think most people who write do, i reread it and think it's trash but that's par for the course lol. OH and moving characters around. i have such a difficult time physically moving my characters in space, and it becomes so distracting to me that i usually have to take a break if i have to move them around too much lolll

For the longest time my pinned was a reblog that i really liked, but i may as well try to be More Social or something and actually say a bit about myself! introduce myself to the world outside my little void!

So heyo! The name's Icey, also known as Tora I4-Icey, aka the fellow who lurks in the shadows and only posts on socials every once in a blue moon, here to try and actually exist despite my awful social anxiety!! They/them, 19, and uhh everything else important is hidden under a wall of text so hopefully you like reading?

I have a variety of interests, and I'd like to consider myself an artist, through i mainly draw my ocs (I'd like to change that! I just need to get over my anxiety about messing up other people's character designs first lmao). I also really like editing videos, and of course there's my always present appreciation for the one and only Baymax. Though from the way this tumblr has been going, im preeettyy sure all youre getting here will be my minecraft builds or mcyt reblogs with a side of original content. I have no clue how i keep on returning to this little corner of the internet year after year, but I can't complain much 'cause minecraft is a pretty fun game!!!

- "So what's with the name?"

My online friends call me either Icey or I4, depending on where you met me. And the name I go by irl is Tora, so i threw all three names in a blender and Tora I4-Icey sounded the best! There's also another name i go by in ffxiv- Ira Icey, so the folks i met over there call me Ira, but I couldn't figure out a way to add Ira to my name.

- "And why's your username a string of numbers?"

Funny story! Back when I was around 12 or so, i kept on forgetting the password to my library account, so my dad changed the password to "4657" and told me to never forget it, cause he's not changing the password a 10th time. It then became my favourite string of numbers, and 4 became my favourite number. I then changed my minecraft account name from "Iceyshadow46" to "I4657", as i hated typing in that username every single time i wanted to effect myself with a command, and somehow I liked that name enough to adopt it as my own! Alas, I am aware the username makes me look like a bot. I'm not changing it, ive stuck with it for this long, and if the bots want it so much, they can pry the name from my COLD DEAD HANDS-

- "Wait, where did the "possibly" part of your username come from? Why possibly?"

I may possibly simply be I4657, also known as Icey, I4, or Tora. Or i may be a cat. Or a squirrel playing a harmonica. You shall never know, and i shall neither confirm nor deny. (read: i4657 sounded too much like a username a bot would choose on here and id rather not get blocked by people assuming (wrongly) that i was a bot.)

- "Why's your sona a glitchy shadow eye creature?"

Fancy lore explanation: As ive been mostly lurking, rarely interacting with anyone on the internet, i kinda pictured myself as nothing more than just eyes, watching others juuust out of sight. But since one can't just look like a blob of eyes and shadows if they want to interact with humans, I stole borrowed the form of a human. Minus the fact that this form (usually) only has two eyes, leading to my lack of spacial awareness, its pretty comfortable. As for the glitches... I don't really have an explanation for that yet.

Actual answer: I had a vision and I thought it'd look super cool. AND I WAS RIGHT!

And I think that's it! I am really, and i mean REALLYYY bad at social media so chances are ill disappear from the face of the earth for days at a time. but ill always come back with something. or at least, ill try to. :D

my personal thoughts about the whole queerbait discourse regarding the daddies that are buddies

So. Do I think Buddy Daddies is queerbait? There's two things to analyze there. First, is the marketing of the show geared towards grabbing a BL audience? I'm not japanese nor speak the language so it's impossible for me accurately make a judgement on that.

But at least regarding the show itself, I don't think so. Like, I don't think the show is promising anything it isn't delivering? It's very straightforward about Kazuki and Rei having a strong partnership as roommates/coworkers/friends, and both being Miri's dads and the three of them being family and that's it, it never hints at anything else, never goes "wink wink nudge nudge are they a couple~? ;333"

Like in episode 4 for example(the daycare episode) it would have been so easy to sneak in some bait-y jokes, have a teacher assume they're a couple and then show Kazuki denying it getting all nervous and blushy, but they don't do that. They directly say "Yes, we are both her fathers" and no other characters in the episode question that or make any suggestive comments. What you see is what you get. It ends up being pretty refreshing how easily accepted it is.

Basically I think the show is like... non-hostile to a queer interpretation while also not feeding any false hope I guess?

And of course there's a lot of subtext, whether that subtext is accidental or not. Just the premise itself is already inherently queer. At the end of the day, this anime has a message of acceptance for non-conventional families, which is very queer-positive, whether intentional or not.

I started this show genuinely thinking it was gonna be generic bait and so far I've honestly just been pleasantly surprised? Like I just don't feel like they're dangling something in front of me or whatever. idk I'm just enjoying the ride lol

also here's the thing. I actually tend to really enjoy the more ambiguous/subtle kind of relationship writing, the kind of stuff that blurs the line between friendship and romance, and so I gravitate towards a lot of stuff that people would usually consider queerbait lol. I just love the concept of two people who have this deep and unspoken trust and love for each other and don't need precise words to define it, or don't know how to define it, or are not emotionally honest enough yet to define it, but the love is clear as day. Like I love it when two characters refuse to even call each other "friend" but you know they would die for each other lmao.

Best example I can think of is G/ood Omens(the show, haven't read the book yet). Lots of queer people complained that they never kiss or outright say "I love you" or anything like that, meanwhile I was there like oh shit, I actually really loved the way their relationship was portrayed in the show and wouldn't change a single thing about it

I do understand the feelings of people who want something that leaves absolutely no room to be interpreted as platonic, and I think we need more of that always. But also I feel like the discourse has lost a lot of nuance, idk. anyway I got off topic oops

So how would your OCs fare in a different killing game setting than the game they're a part of, sure the killing game is the killing game no matter what, but a DR 1 style enclosed building is completely different from a DR 2 style sunny and beautiful island. for the 50th season of danganronpa they realllyyyyy wanted to hone in on the nostalgia, which means the location takes a lot of influence from the very first season!!!!!!! the group has been locked inside what THEY assume is some sort of weird boarding school/odd storage unit that has been boarded up to all hell with ZERO sunlight that isnt artificial. similar to thh areas continue to get unlocked as the killing game continues, but overall it is meant to invoke the same claustrophobic atmosphere as the first game, which REALLY influences quite a few of these people lol. not to mention that about halfway through the season (probably late chapter 3/early chapter 4, bc it definitely influences pippy to do what she does lmao) it's revealed they are WAYYYY underground in a survival bunker that has been abandoned and forgotten about (hence why everything is dusty as hell). catastrophe struck and the class is mostly presumed dead down there. also there is a single elevator but they are NOT getting to it unless they kill somebody

HOW THEY WOULD REACT TO A TOTAL SWITCH UP (FROM LEAST INFLUENCED TO MOST)

yoshito: i think regardless of location he would have the same attitude going into it!!! would it be NICE to send that man on an island vacation where he can run around at the beach with his friends? yes. but would it ultimately influence his "i can fix everybody" mentality? likely not

ryobe: similar to yoshito i think this guy gets fucked up regardless of where he's kept lmao!!!!!!!!!!!! the claustrophobia of the bunker ABSOLUTELYYY has some influence, it'll definitely get to ANYBODY after a while, but ryobe is very stubborn in his own escapism that i find it difficult to imagine he acts super differently in a sunny resort lol. he'd definitely be a lot more annoying with a water gun but he would still refuse to acknowledge reality and spiral regardless if he's sunburned or not

mika: i reckon there is a SLIGHTT difference with how she acts here!! not enough to drastically change her character arc, but i honestly think throwing her in a beach would make her a bit more friendly to start off with. when season 50 begins and they all meet each other, she is the FIRST to assume that they are at a hopes peak boarding school, meaning she has already boxed herself in as this ultimate lucky student with no talent in comparison to all of these talented people. a lot of the reason she is so standoffish originally comes from that immediate insecurity. i reckon if they met in a more relaxed setting where ultimate talents arent IMMEDIATELY relevant she'd be a little more open!!! of course there is no denying how they are all ultimates in some way or another but surely they arent here just to work on that right??? its VACATION TIME!!!!!!

erin: DEPENDSSS depends. she's going to act like pippy no matter where she is because like ryobe she is relentless. but that feeling of total claustrophobia in the bunker and complete isolation absolutely lent itself as motive for her. this is a girl whose entire life is dedicated to her work, and the bunker setting REALLY emphasizes just how completely separated from it she is!! it further tells her that HEY, EVERYBODY FORGOT ABOUT YOU IN THERE, and regardless of what her actual motive to kill ended up being that feeling absolutely contributed to the mania that led up to the murder in the first place. rp!pippy is a whole different story BUT HONESTLY it's a pretty good indicator that in a more open/less claustrophobic setting (since the rp took place at a camp, and while it WAS abandoned there was still the SUGGESTION of other people somewhere), plus with some close friends lol, erin could have reasonably survived!! throwing erin in a setting like that OR an sdr2 beach setting could help her quite a bit because it feels much less isolating if that makes sense. looking at the sky at least gives you a bit of hope that somebody else is looking up at the sky also. looking up at a bunker ceiling for weeks is going to make you irrational

rie: same with erin the idea of being completely isolated absolutely contributed to her entire facade crumbling in the later chapters. she misses her dad!!!!! and shes the primary caretaker for him so being locked away from him presumably forever hurts!!!!!!!!!! the bunker makes her feel completely alone and absolutely helpless, and is a big part as to why nobody trusts her in that final trial. trusting rie was IMPORTANTTT too, because if they had listened to her a bit more or even attempted to calm her down enough to get an alibi together they actually might have been able to get through chapter 5 lol, instead all of them had fallen into a rush of mania and exhaustion that led them to distrusting her wayyyy too easily. throw her on a beach and she'll be a litttleeee more chill i think, still VERY upset about her dad but maybe jusssttttttt calm enough to rationally talk things through. the isolation of the bunker is really good at making all of them feel very alone, which is why finding somebody to confide in was a tricky task (and then when she did find somebody to confide in they accused her of murder. lol). the beach might be a better setting at making friends!!!! maybe!!!!!!!!!

billie: the entire location billie was in was a constant and walking reminder of her father LMFAOOO, it was LITERALLY his own creation that she had been constantly testing for him. and BECAUSE she had done that so many times, she was immediately quite standoffish and awkward to the others, just because it felt very repetitive at that point. BUT ALSO i do think a big point of her character during the one and only chapter she survived was that she WANTED to help, mostly because she felt GUILTY. she felt that this simulation going haywire was partially her fault, because she recognized signs of malfunction and didnt run to stop it in time. in another location where she is less familiar of her surroundings and doesn't feel immediate responsibility, i reckon she'd be a lot less helpful LMAO. this is still billie so she is still going to be very easily influenced, but she'd be a lot less inclined to help and honestly might just hide away for a lonnggggg while. she would NOT fall for the note the way she had in the rp, which means lets give it up for wilhelmina "billie" lane for making it past chapter 1 WAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sae: GET HER OUT OF THEREEEEEEE SHE NEEDS FRESH AIR SHE NEEDS THE OCEANNNNN. NO MORE CHLORINE-FILLED POOL NO MORE WEIRD HOTEL SMELL AND BLEACH. this resort she is currently in (in the rp!!) is kind of a mix of the bunker setting and the beach setting in that it is still isolated BUT she can at least SEE the outside. she can put her hand out there. its more taunting than anything but it COULD be so much worse

naomi: honestly she might be the most immediately and gravely affected by the location LMAO. this is a girl who is used to have places to RUNNN, and this bunker is allowing her NONE of that. she CAN not run away from these people, and the most she can do is hide, even though the entire cast knows that she is in her room. it is very very easy for her to grow extremely helpless in that location, because so much of her survival instincts is rooted in packing up and leaving!!! setting her in a beach gives her farrrr more freedom, and while that DOES mean we probably wont be seeing her until chapter 2 lmfao she is going to feel a lot more comfortable. it is still a very isolated island dont get me wrong, but it is a HUGE island, and naomi would feel far more inclined to meekly join in with the others now that she knows she has a surefire means of fucking off to the other side of the island should anything go absolutely haywire. HONESTLY would stop her from doing anything too rash. she is still remarkably paranoid but it is slightlyyyy easier to find lucidity on a beautiful island with a lot of open space rather than a dusty old bunker where everybody is cranky and the only enemies that know you are alive are currently trapped underground with you

Hi, im a grade 12 student and im considering studying law soon, and i was wondering if theres anything you wish you knew about studying law when you were at the stage that I am? thank you

hi! take this w a grain of salt bc ive only been going to school for a month. but here u go!

1. it involves a lot of reading. A LOT. and you have to absorb the concepts as you read them the first time bc, more often than not, you're not gonna have the time to go over them a second time for a more in-depth review. it would just be to jog your recall. don't worry too much tho! this is a skill you naturally develop especially throughout your college years since you would be reading a lot of difficult texts (i assume you'll be taking up an ab program since you have plans to pursue law?) of course, law school is 100x harder than college and you can never fully prepare for the workload, but building a stable foundation as early as now would definitely help you in the future.

2. you need to be great at thinking on your feet. this is something im struggling with at the moment bc of my social anxiety and fear of public speaking (ikr, what am i doing in law school lmao). i have always been the type to internally rehearse what i need to say a thousand times before i actually say it out loud. if you put me on the spot, no matter how impressive the idea is inside my head, it's all disorganized and incohesive the moment it comes out of my mouth. that being said, try to participate as much as you can in activities that expose you to public speaking and impromptu speeches like hosting school events, reporting, debate orgs, etc.

3. you don't have to be smart, but you definitely need to be studious. admittedly, people who are inherently intelligent will have an advantage over the others because they'll be able to understand concepts quicker (it is an edge bc believe me —there's never enough time when you're in law school). sure, it might be a little harder (i know it is for me); nevertheless, you'll survive even if you are not one of those people who are intellectually gifted. what you need is to be consistent in studying, because you absolutely won't last 4 years in law school if you don't put in the work. always come to class prepared. study all the topics assigned, or at least try to cover as many as you can bc you definitely can't bs your way out of a recit.

4. the idea of becoming a lawyer was planted in my mind by suits and htgawm 🤣 don't fall into that trap like i did! the study of law is nothing like its portrayal in popular media (which is understandable bc no one would wanna watch the monotonous lives and routines of law students if not from rose-tinted glasses). media makes a spectacle out of the sleepless nights and the volume of material to be read and mastered, but it doesnt reveal the exhaustion that comes from such to the point that you avoid laying down during your breaks in between periods of studying for fear that you cant close your eyes for a minute wo drifting off to sleep. it glamorizes the idea of allotting most of your waking hours to studying but it doesn't show on TV the faces of your family when you say you cannot come yet again to the plans they made on the weekend. your heart must be REALLY in it, or you should at least want it enough for you to be able to make the sacrifices it's gonna require you to make because—believe me—there would be many.

Hi apologies in advance for this ask being SO long, I just really love a3 and seeing new people get into a3 :')

I happened upon your posts and since you say you've read Act 5 now I'm assuming you managed to find it, but just in case: nobody uses the fandom wiki for a3, everything's on a site called "yaycupcake"! (well, not EVERYTHING everything, you'll have to take to looking on tumblr at Some point and Act 12 translation is a work in progress, but effectively everything)

Other than that, there are video archives on youtube from when the English server was active if you'd want to use those for story, you should be able to find them pretty easy but I can link if needed.

Second thing, it looks like you went right into Act 5 from the Anime? Which is understandable, but you should read the Play Events in between! They're not officially marked as Main Story, but they absolutely are, and you will be lost later on without having read them, both in terms of character development AND important plot stuff. Each Troupe got two Plays between Act 4 and Act 5 so that's 8 Events. Seasonal Events aren't As important so you can skip most of those, but iirc the Christmas and New Year events tie into the main story too.

Lastly - and this is entirely me being picky, so no pressure - if you only watched the Anime, I highly recommend going to read these five Chapters from the first Main Story;

Act 4 Chapters 19-21 (these ones especially)

Act 4 Chapter 31

Yes i did get to yaycupcake eventually thanks to my friend Chii @vampuppyy and have it bookmarked now but when I was originally looking for story translations it kept giving me 404 messages so you know. Wasnt really available to use. I do plan on going back for at least some of the events too I have the clockwork one open on my laptop already lmao and these stories are not at all as dense as Enstars stories can be and godbless they aren't suffering from the abyssmal load times of the wayback machine. I did notice Sakuya mentioned their previous plays when giving Chikage the pep talk so I figured it wouldn't hurt to read at least some previous events before moving onto Act 6 anyway.

Review for “Ophelia After All” by Racquel Marie!

Hello, Tumblrians! I’ll try to publish at least 4 reviews this week. If I go on another unpredicted hiatus, at least I can have all this writing to make up for my sudden absence? 

Real talk though, I’m sorry about the inconsistent schedule. I get pretty self-conscious about this Tumblr account (there’s a reason I don’t use hashtags anymore), and also I’ve been kinda exhausted in the last week. I already told you guys about South Carolina. (There was originally gonna be a 540-word rant after this but I cut it. That was definitely for the best!)

I really gotta set realistic standards for myself. I keep thinking I’ll be prepared to upload reviews for this account but then I get hit with anxiety paralysis and just never upload anything. It feels like a chore sometimes, even when I made this for fun. I know not many people follow this, because I stay out of hashtags and the people who actually choose to follow me ‘cause they saw my reviews somewhere and liked them leave because I’m inconsistent. I’m sorry for repeatedly disappointing you all.

Okay! Time to actually start my book review! 

Ophelia After All by Racquel Marie follows 17 year-old Ophelia: daughter of an Irish English professor and a Cuban immigrant, she’s spent her whole life being a passionate rose gardener, gossip lover, and hopeless romantic with a crush on nearly every boy she meets. But a few weeks before prom, when she undeniably falls for a female classmate named Talia, she begins to question the identity she’s developed over time—and how much of it was because she wanted to appease the people around her. 

I really loved this book! Ophelia was a realistic teenage protagonist, and especially liked the dynamic she had with her friend group (which was one of many relationships paramount to the story). They teased and supported each other, called people out on their shit, fought and later made up, like a lot of friend groups do. While I get that not everyone likes to read about teenage drama, it was resolved by the end, and it didn’t take the melodramatic approach. There was also an interesting examination of Ophelia getting used to being around guys and not necessarily liking them romantically! Maybe it’s because I’m gay but I appreciated that too.

Anyhow! Other things I liked: Talia and Ophelia’s friendship! Ugh the embarrassment in the middle though😬 (WHY OPHELIA). I did like that even after everything they maintained that platonic relationship, though. I was expecting for it to be a romance because a lot of the YAs of this variety I read typically are, this is the first one I’ve read where the MC didn’t get the girl and learned to deal with that! (Also, Talia was sweet.) The multifaceted discussion of Ophelia’s identity was cool too, mixing together discussions on heteronormativity, culture, and dealing with the future in a coming-of-age story. I also just really love queer contemporary stories! It’s something about the light, sometimes snarky but overall honest writing style of basically every single one I read that leaves me whizzing through several hundreds of pages in under a day.

And of course, you can’t go wrong with the additional rose anecdotes sprinkled throughout the story.

(Sidenote, though: I was reading this the same week I was reading and listening to Bianca Torre Is Afraid Of Everything, so there was this weird coincidence between the two where both MCs had Shakespeare-obsessed moms who named their children after lady characters from his plays, assumed they were cishet, and initially weren’t trusted in their coming out journeys lmao?!) 

Uhmmm I don’t know what else to add on, except for that I just really liked that although everything was resolved there were still consequences and (eventual) self-awareness, and this and Felix Ever After are probably my favorites of the “messy coming-of-age” queer contemporary subgenre! (Which isn’t actually a real subgenre, but it should be considered one, right?!) My positive reviews are always very short, lol. Just look at my When The Angels Left The Old Country one, I remember I was going in circles? So I’ll cap it off here!

Introduction

Hello everyone! I know we’ve had a big influx of bots/infiltrators(? Haven’t seen them really… do anything, outside of make singular, long, overly-detailed posts) recently making long introductory posts, but bear with me, because this blog actually has a specific goal, so I feel it’s only natural to want to give a brief explanation! Feel no obligation to read all of this, but please do reblog for visibility!

As a decently-established part of radblr (on my main blog, I’ve been here since mid-late 2019, so going on 5 years now!) I’ve noticed that alongside the obvious primary focus of female liberation, anti-cosmetic and sex industry consciousness raising, and spreading of resources (it was thanks to radblr that I found the aid that made my abortion affordable!) for women and girls, there is also a good chunk of women on here who feel passionately about animals, with a particular emphasis on cats.

I, myself, am actually more of a dog person, believe it or not, but I love cats plenty (I have four of them!) and where I live, local feral cats are in much more need than dogs are. I already work in animal care and rescue as my day job, and I have rescued feral cats and kittens in the past as a hobby. I’m passionate about it, and I do what I can, but I have limited resources.

I’m TNR certified (trap, neuter, and return) and I work with a local vet clinic for the cats I TNR. It costs $25 per cat, and includes a spay or neuter, a mandatory eartip to indicate that the cat is fixed, and a rabies vaccine. My neighborhood has a SERIOUS stray issue. As in, strays in the hundreds, few of them fixed, and every spring and summer is a mess of feral kittens. For adult, undomesticated ferals, a TNR is all I can do, but for kittens that can be easily domesticated and given loving homes, it doesn’t seem right to TNR them and toss them back out on the street. Seeing dead kittens hit by cars, and adult strays with missing clumps of fur and visible spines and ribcages is a daily occurrence. I have an interest in working with local rescues and shelters to find homes for feral kittens and friendly, abandoned adult cats, and I also have an interest in finding local radfems (or radfems who don’t mind a trek or figuring out some sort of travel plan, lmao) who might be looking for a new addition to their families. 

I’ll post trapped kittens and cats, any important details about them, and whether they’ll be TNRed, or taken to a shelter (or, of course, if they spark interest, if they’ll be adopted by someone who shows interest through this blog, though who the adopter is will be kept confidential unless she chooses to state on her own blog that she is the one who adopted the cat) and I would like to use this blog to help raise funds to make TNR and temporary fostering while I figure out just where each cat is going and how I’ll get them there. Two of my cats were found outside in my neighborhood, one of them in my own yard (I spooked his mother while she was moving him, at about 4 weeks old, and she dropped the little guy) and as much as I would love to keep every kitty that comes my way, it just isn’t doable. 

Where the feminist activism aspect comes into play, is that I’d like to set up a donation splitting model. My current priority charity is Women on Web, but I’m very open to suggestions of other feminist charities, just send them my way! As time goes on, assuming that this functions well for raising funds and donations, I intend on having monthly charities, and potentially some fun ways for people to get involved without having to contribute financially. Much of this will be transferred to an FAQ tab, assuming I get interest, and any other questions that may arise will also be added, first in the form of reblogs, then also transferred to the FAQ. 

How the donation split will work, at least as of right now, is that whoever may be donating funds (as low as one cent, or as high as you please) may specify exactly how they want their donation to be allocated. For example, if somebody sends $5, they may say “I want $3 of this to go to Women on Web, and $2 to go to supplying cat food for trap bait and for foster cats”. Donations sent without specifications for how the sender wants them allocated will be split evenly between a women’s charity and whatever portion of cat rescue currently needs more resources (so, if flea meds are low, and no specification is given, the other half will go to buying more flea meds).

So far, I’ve designated six different categories for donations:

-TNR fund (each TNR is a $25 flat fee. This pays for a spay/neuter, a rabies vaccine, and an eartip, to show from a distance that the feral cat has already been fixed.)

-Live trap fund (live traps are expensive. Cats thrash around and damage them, people steal them for scrap metal or for their own use, and they sometimes just get old and dented.)

-Flea medicine and ringworm treatment fund (kittens being fostered by me, and adopted out by me will need to be treated for fleas, and ringworm has been all too common with the majority of my recent cat rehabs.)

-Cat food fund (for fosters, and for baiting the traps. And, naturally, because I’m not heartless, for ferals that are particularly in need. I don’t want to see cats die of starvation any more than anyone else.)

-Women’s charities (as of right now, this charity is Women on Web, an abortion aid fund that supplies medication abortion through the mail for women who may not be able to otherwise access it due to legal reasons, financial reasons, or social or familial stigma.)

-And of course, a tip jar, for me. Sorry to be greedy. I love what I do, I’m passionate about what I do, but I also need to eat, and so do my own pets. No funds will be allocated to this category unless otherwise specifically requested by the sender.

These categories are subject to change, I’ve never fundraised for myself when it comes to cat rescue before, so if you have experience, please share suggestions and comments freely! 

And, for those of you who can’t spare money, or who can, but also just want to have some fun, my inbox is also open (and very appreciative of!) name suggestions. Feminist themed names are especially fun, but any names are welcome, as are suggestions for any changes, ideas to implement, and general cat chat! I’m always welcoming to conversation, and for now, please keep an eye out for a post on my first rescue project! Expect some polls, plenty of editing to make this blog flow smoother, and some cat pics to come.

Hi so to preface - I'm a sexual assault survivor who is DEEPLY uncomfortable with how Angel was treated in the show, by the show creators, and in general, and I've put a little bit into re-working him to still keep him relatively intact as the original Angel Dust, but portrayed in a way I feel would reflect a more interesting character. I also don't like Hazbin Hotel or Vivziepop very much lmao - I happen to be a trans guy.

Spoilers for the entirety of Hazbin Hotel, and CW for discussions of rape, other sexual assault, loss of autonomy, transphobia, and abuse.

Angel, in the rewrite I have going with Jay and co, is a sinner trapped in a bad contract with Valentino, that part stays enough the same. Valentino likes to use Angel's image as a porn star and as a trans man (another change - Angel literally just has breasts in the original but is still a cis man. Not to say that cis men cannot play with gender however they want, or that cis men cannot have breasts, but the sexualized nature of Angel's chest felt fetish-y to both transfems and transmascs) to portray the "perfect" sexual being.

Angel himself was initially all for it, as he quite enjoyed sex, sexuality, etc - He's a gay man that's invested in kink and bdsm, he thinks it's fun, etc. To note, he would be the only major character in this Hazbin rewrite who has an arc so sexually present - the others would be Asmodeus (obviously), Stolas (to outline his consent issues), and to a lesser extent Fizz (similar to Angel's autonomy issues, but less about the sex doll thing and more just.... Mammon's control), who are all more Helluva Boss centric. Anyway, to clear that up, most characters would not be as hypersexual as they are in the show lmao

Pre-show, Valentino has successfully marketed Angel as that perfect sexual being - a somewhat androgynous man with a vagina, feminine enough to have breasts but masculine enough to overall pass as male. Something for everyone. Angel is becoming slowly more dysphoric, but is banned from transitioning, and violence slowly creeps into his and Valentino's relationship as Angel starts to protest against some of the bullshit, but is, of course, shot down. By the time the show present rolls around, Angel is quite literally at his lowest point, and willing to take the free lodging just to get away at some points.

He initially presents as a very flirty, very porn-y person, extremely confident, thinks he's funny, more like he is in the pilot. Kind of a dick, feels very self-centered and acts like he's better than everyone because he's famous and a porn star. When Charlie, Vaggie, Husk, Alastor, etc start very firmly rejecting any flirting he does, he starts spiraling a little in private, because "God, I pushed them too far, and that makes me just as bad if not worse than Valentino" and "If nobody actively wants me all the time, what worth do I even have?"

Those initial personality traits are mostly to get him by - People expect him to be a little flirty at least, so he dials it up. He can get away with seducing his way out of bad situations using his body and his reputation, and he does it so often that it becomes a very subconscious first nature thing to him.

Eventually, this leads up to my rewrite of episode 4, which is so long I put this under a cut lmao

Now I did like the aspect of Husk calling Angel out on his very fake demeanor, but there was absolutely 0 leadup to it, so I would push episode 4 over to a far later episode and have some scenes building up to it; We know Angel uses drugs to cope, and I assume that would extend to drinking, so Husk would just quietly start picking up on when those episodes happen (after porn shoots), the visible marks on Angel's body (physical violence from Valentino that he passes off as a bdsm shoot), all those little details that Husk would have picked up on from his gambling history. In any case, Husk wouldn't call out Angel in front of everyone because Angel would just. Back further away from any progress. Instead, I'd put Angel as trying to come onto Husk (possibly drug-induced state) and Husk calling him out there. Maybe Alastor or Charlie could overhear, to which Charlie decides to go Support Angel At Work (because she would be less. squeamish abt everything in the rewrite lol) and see how the business is run

In any case the scene of Charlie accidentally mucking things up - in this case she's just distracting actors because she's genuinely interested in people - and Valentino goes and whispers something inaudible to the audience to Angel, because Valentino has been friendly (not creepy like he is in the original ep) the entire time, and Angel's face just drops, but he goes over to tell her to sit down and the conversation escalates because Charlie's panicking that Angel's upset and Angel is panicking that Valentino's gonna take it out on him and now Charlie's upset, so it escalates to Charlie leaving.

After that night's shoot - which is Not depicted by the way, I want to make it very clear that that montage was literally a sexual assault/gangrape montage - Angel is visibly battered and if we have make the details clearer we can have an advertised scene or people talking about how good [that shoot] was, contrasted with Angel covering up and being uncomfortable. I'd rather have it implied not even because of discomfort but because leaving things up to implication can make the audience feel so much worse for him

then Angel enters the hotel and Charlie tries to talk to him about it in that bright cheery "how'd it go?!" and Angel is genuinely a dick to her. Like full on snapping at her. I think it's important to have Angel have some real assholish moments in the show, then have Valentino use that later in order to manipulate Angel further in another attempt to isolate him. Anyway Angel storms out and Charlie makes to go after him, but Husk goes wait. I'll do it. and because Charlie has had some scenes with Husk demonstrating his people-pacifying social skills to her before, she trusts him and passes along a message

Husk finds Angel at the same scene, schmoozing it up with some guys and letting them spike his drink. Husk drags Angel out again and asks why the fuck he'd let that happen. I'm not entirely sure how Angel would react, but his internal reasoning is that if he lets that happen, it's a more "real" form of assault on him. Valentino very clearly manipulates Angel's consent to the point where Angel is unsure if he's consented or not (he is not), and Angel deals with hypersexuality as a result of that. In this case, he'd go out and sleep with a bunch of ppl in very dubious consenting situations because 1. he is hypersexual and craves validation that is not from Valentino, which is easiest to access via sexual validation, 2. his self-worth is somewhat tied to how much he can serve others, or drugs, and both are of equal value to him, 3. if all else fails, he can point out that situation to himself as the most "valid" violation of his consent, and justify his godawful situation to himself, a "at least Valentino doesn't do this to me!"

Husk, being very good at people, goes yeah. okay. that's fucked. it's all fucked. you still need to apologize to charlie though. and Angel agrees because he was being a dick. But from there it opens up a dialogue of Charlie and Husk slowly getting through to Angel and eventually, when Charlie figures out the full extent of what Valentino is doing to Angel, she goes fucking feral. princess of hell an all that

hi! do you mind sharing what steps you use to color your gifs? your colorings are always so nice

hi! since i've gotten quite a few people asking about this, i thought i'd do a full tutorial on it! 🥰 i'll go into two aspects—how i color gifs normally, for properly lit/neutrally colored scenes, and how i color when the scenes are unnaturally yellow/red/orange.

fair warning for a lot of images and me rambling way too much under the cut!

we'll start with how i color normally, i'll show you how to achieve something like this:

before we start, a couple of things to keep in mind:

i won't be going into the basics of gifmaking (screencaping, loading your frames in, sharpening, and all that). this is assuming you know the basics of giffing and have an idea of adjustment layers.

i use PS 2020, but you can do this in pretty much any version.

i always do all my editing with my gif converted into a smart object, but you can do this in frame animation too!

the way i'm coloring is quite specific to the way 911 is lit, and while this should work with any other show that has similar lighting, you can't use the same principles for shows that are washed out or have weird filters or really dark lighting.

so, i start off by brightening up my gif. i add an exposure and levels layer for this purpose:

this gives it sufficient brightness, but doesn't adjust it drastically the way some gifmakers like to do. the brightness usually isn't my focus, i'll adjust it if i need to, but i prefer to focus on color correction/enhancement, and so on. this is what my gif looks like now:

i like my gifs to have a LOT of contrast to reduce pixellation and because i think it gives it more clarity and crispness. i also like to them to be vibrant, but not in a way that makes the skin tones of the characters look unnatural. so i start off with adding a selective color layer with the blacks increased, for contrast (i know people usually use levels or curves, but i really prefer selective color in this instance) and a color balance layer to make the hue and tones of the gif cooler.

this is what i end up with:

of course, buck's skin looks way too unnatural. we'll fix this in selective color—i use a LOT of selective color layers just for the skin tone of the characters. i used at least 4 for this gif alone. the majority of your coloring process can take place there, if you're not going for anything fancy.

i'll share the settings i used, but keep in mind this is very subjective to each gif and scene. even if the scenes are very similar, you'll definitely have to make at least some adjustments.

i also added selective color to brighten majentas (for buck's lips and cheeks) and blues (for the background behind him). since there are only a handful of major colors in this scene, i didn't have to do much. but if there were green, yellow and other cooler colors, i would be working on making them look as vibrant as possible.

this was my result:

i decided i wanted my gif to look a little brighter, after all, and i used a brightness/contrast layer. i also decided to darken the reds a tad bit more, and highlight the whites, like so:

to complete it, i added a grey to white gradient map at about 22% opacity, set to soft light, to add a little more contrast. this step is optional, unless you're a stickler like me for the greys and blacks to be darkened lmao.

next, let's move on to color correcting!

there are a lot of layers you can use to color correct, and i'll be using channel mixer for the purposes of the tutorial. it's not too complicated—but in case you want a more detailed explanation into how it works, this tutorial is perfect!

so, this is the scene we'll be working with. 911 has good lighting compared to a lot of shows, but there are a lot of scenes—especially in s1 and in the characters' houses—that are washed way too yellow or red. the characters of color, unfortunately, seem to get the brunt of it. so i'll be showing you how to color correct, while staying true to their skin tones!

this is the gif without any coloring at all:

before brightening the gif, i'm gonna add a channel mixer layer. i'll go straight to the blue channel, and increase the red and green channels slightly.

this is what the gif looks like:

it looks better, but her skin is too majenta. we'll fix this with another channel mixer layer, this time in the red channel. reduce the red slider slightly, like so:

she looks better now! still a little too red, but our next steps will fix that. next, brighten up the gif and add contrast like normal:

of course, now she looks waay too pale. we'll fix this using vibrance:

better, but it's not close enough to her original skin tone for my liking. let's use selective color. i adjusted the reds:

i also adjusted the yellows, greens, cyans and blues; to make the other colors more vibrant. this is the finished gif:

if you want the gif to look brighter—i'm aware that the way i've done it gives it minimal brightness—you can add a brightness contrast layer, while upping both the brightness and contrast sliders. this should brighten up your gif, while keeping hen's skin tone as dark as it should be.
