What are your favorite dates to have with them? s/i 1's most favorite date he ever took her on was one where he couldn't afford a proper dinner date somewhere nor did he really have a place to stay for the night. . but this was when he was still too anxious to go to her house often. so what he did was he found a very obscure alley, and he got some mattresses and blankets and stuff and made a little fort for them (cos bb loves the forts, and it would keep them from getting rained on if there was weather). he got spray paint, chinese takeout, and stole a guitar. . and they hung out together for the night until she convinced him to go home with her once they were getting tired. . he was teaching her how to draw with the spray paint, got her extra shrimp on her little rice box. . played a little quiet guitar for her while they laid on each other. very nice night for them. . for me and barry tho, i like taking him out with me to old drive-ins or car shows :0 he likes old cars and motorcycles and stuff, and i like the movies. . so car shows and drive-in theatres are like. . the coolest for him to go on. uvu

What are their favorite dates to have with you? he likes to find hideouts i think :0 or spending the night at hotels where they can do whatever they want no consequences (except s/i 1 still worries about trashing the hotel room consequences and doesnt usually fall into that kdjfds-) but he likes going to cool abandoned stuff or finding neat places to sneak into with her. i think he would do the same with me, except given the f/o version of him cant drag me out to scary places, he just keeps me feeling safe whenever im walking around at night and thats how we talk and hang out sometimes.

What do you think they smell like? assuming he's not covered in blood and sweat from fighting on the streets, he normally smells very heavily of worn leather, cheap cologne, smoke, whiskey. . like, you know he's been outside and that jacket has gone through every kind of weather, but the leather smell is still thick and very addictive. bad influence he is. if he doesnt get you smoking off his cigarettes, drinking with him, or doing something stupid, you get hooked on his jacket like the metaphorical drug he's looking for instead.

What is your f/os biggest love languages? They don't have to be one of the "five", it can be anything specific they use to show you love. he's very physical, but to know he's not just thinking of you as a one-off, its just that he keeps coming back for you. he keeps in contact with you, he trusts you. . the man is on the run. if he wants to keep you, he's going to try to, even if he can't do it as often as he likes at first. he has to ease himself into feeling safe to keep going back to somewhere not because of you, but because of the people he works for or against, and because he's scared of putting the one he cares about in danger. To know him as anything other than "Smiley" or see the tender side from his alter ego, that is his one step towards maybe liking you more than he planned to. he also has teasing where he's being a bully, and teasing because he likes someone and likes to see their cute reactions to things or play with them. he banters for love.

Do you guys sleep in the same bed? If so, what's it like sleeping with them? barry, both as f/o and in the universe with s/i 1, will. . try on occasion to stay the night. he gets anxious about the police or his enemies finding him when he sleeps somewhere, and on top of him worrying about them getting the other person involved, he doesnt always actually sleep when he stays the night unless he is plum exhausted from running or other things. he likes to share a bed with me or s/i 1, he likes to get close and grabby and physical until we/they both fall asleep because he rarely gets that anymore even from the girls he used to sleep with, but he feels like he cannot or something bad will happen.

What's your favorite headcanon about your f/o? ok ive got a couple. one: the guy can almost never just freaking die lol. he's gotten a tv smashed on his head in a flooded boat, several car and motorcycle wrecks, he's fallen from the like, fifth floor of the Capitol Records building or something ONTO A PIANO. . omg. and then for f/o version, i HC that Ford didn't quite get a fatal shot on him and Smiley was just stunned. He just has immeasurable luck against fate itself or something lol. He's escaped traps and captures i dont know how many times. two: he had to learn to like cats. . he used to hate them. very much a dog guy instead, he likes the scary ones but he also likes really any kind of dog that isnt just annoying (he's less fond of the yappy smaller breeds), but he does learn to like cats. . so now he likes my cats :)) but only my cats. . and only some of the nice strays he's come across, but he's still kind of hesitant of cats most of the time.

What is the dynamic that you and your f/o have? very stereotypical bad boy/criminal x good girl kind of thing. he would sneak onto college grounds with s/i 1 or me, smuggle himself places he wasnt supposed to be to meet up. he's got a soft spot for ones like s/i 1. . very tough guy/soft baby contrast going on. love him. he does indulge in those stereotypes or lets us play cops and robbers with him but hot wheels version.

What does your f/o do for you when you're having a rough day? he doesnt know well how to comfort really other than going like "ah yeah, fak that guy." or getting your mind off things. he'll get me to think of other stuff like cool stories he's got of literal crimes he's committed, bank heists he went on, or he plays hot wheels with me or tells me about cool cars he saw or got to ride (as in he stole them, and they may or may not have been crashed before he could return them from "borrowing" them for a joy ride.) he also talks in funny cockney slang, usually insults or horrible things one shouldnt say to make me laugh. uvu

If so, what's that like? ya!! he let me hold his hand, he dont mind 👉🏻 👈🏻 he would rather be holding other things rdfgkdf- he's kind of a grabby guy, but he can hold hands too instead. he keeps a good grip on me to keep me safe, its kind of a habit for him, but not so tight or overly protective as other f/os are. more casual for him.

Heeseung found you sitting on the balcony, the chill in the air matching the cold ache in your heart. You hugged your knees to your chest, lost in thought. He walked over quietly, sitting beside you.

“Hey,” he said softly, his voice filled with concern.You didn’t respond immediately, but that didn’t deter him.

“I know it hurts right now,” he continued, his gaze fixed on the horizon. “When I lost my pet, it felt like the whole world stopped. Like nothing could ever fill that void.”

His words surprised you, drawing your attention. “You lost a pet, too?” you asked, your voice barely above a whisper. Heeseung nodded, a bittersweet smile on his lips.

“Yeah. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever gone through. But you know what helped? Remembering the good times.”

“I know it’s not the same, but when I moved away from my family, I felt really empty, too. It’s hard to lose someone—or something—you love.”

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small plush keychain. “I know it’s not much, but I thought this might help,” he said, handing it to you. It was a tiny cat plush, its soft fur similar to your pet’s. “I saw it earlier and thought of you.”

The gesture brought fresh tears to your eyes, but you smiled. “Thank you, Ni-ki. This means a lot.”

Ni-ki spent the rest of the day with you, distracting you with video games and jokes. Whenever he saw your sadness creeping back, he’d nudge you and say, “They wouldn’t want you to be sad, you know. They’d want you to remember all the fun you had together.”

Firstly, it's not half as critical as I could make it. Secondly, the BBC remembers him as an enthusiast propagandist, later mostly disillusioned with propaganda's efficiency. He didn't draw on his experience disagreeing with facts, since by his own admission he agreed with all facts on what he spread, he just lied with regards to his opinions and beliefs regarding those. He didn't reach the same conclusions and felt that this was lying enough - but not enough to stop. He drew on his experience disliking an institution, and that's about it.

That's not made up, that's a fact everyone involved owns up to - I misspoke and said "his office" when it was a conference room but the basement torture room's position and layout were inspired by his basement office. He was venting about a job he found draining.

#It is a critique and analysis on the nature of power and centralized authority

Nope. The entire story revolves around trying to find a positive power and centralised authority to replace the Bad One and them being red herrings to deter the real threat to the current power, which is a centralised authority uniting the proles against the Inner Party. It fails to critique power and doesn't analyse anything, embracing them both to be self-evident. The whole "pint vs half-litre" beer debacle would have been simply ridiculous if it didn't try to make a point about the needs of the people and how asinine regulations used to be good and proper back in the day but now the problem is they're inefficient - as a result it is both ridiculous AND grating.

#Like if you're going to critique the book do it on things that are there

1984 is a marginally interesting exploration of the learnt limits to self-expression and self-repression through the lens of someone who's not spent all that long thinking about it in the first place. The hero never grows, never truly reflects until the final pages, and is constantly waiting for the next order. Challenging power is simply not imagined, as the only thing that could challenge a power structure is assumed by the narrative voice, as well as each character individually, to be the rise of a different one. Winston's entire rebellion is middle-class spending, talking to a girl, and keeping a journal of such incredible insights as "freedom is when you can disagree." His passivity and constantly receptive personality, never quite acting, would have been a good way to avoid excessive logorrhoea from the narrative voice about the lore - letting others explain, for instance, but it doesn't even do that. On a personal note, I found the style distasteful, the entire story predictable, and appreciated the narrative voice's kindness in informing me that O'Brien was very smart, because it really did not transpire through the dialogue and plot itself.

Reminder that 1984 was mostly based off of Orwell being a little bitch and not "predicting trump" and that power-hungry would-be dictators who lie all the time and somehow get popular by failing upwards aren't new and the true motivation for 1984 was giving a torture room the same number (room 101) as Orwell's office back when he was bored off his mind working at the BBC. Some of the "truth editing" aspect was because the government told the BBC to not report stuff that would make the population despair during wartime, most of it was flavouring for his "only the worst of the worst people would Do this to me" thing. Then he implied socialism is Just That Dangerous because he never spared an opportunity to be a bitch

Hello, I would like to address some things recently that have bothered me:

Please don't ask me for art requests. Unless I ask for suggestions on what to draw, normally no, I won't do it. Even if you don't necessarily have ill intent/aren't forceful about it and ask nicely, it's rude and unbecoming for a stranger to go around begging random artists for free artwork. You either learn to commission others for their hard work, or learn to put the pencil in your hands.

I don't allow usage of my artwork on profiles, even with credit. You're fine to use them as desktop backgrounds, etc - places that don't involve printing them out or reuploading them. It makes me deeply uncomfortable to see my artwork being used to 'identify' one's self on SNS if that makes sense, of course there are exceptions: Like if I drew certain artwork for them, and I'm aware I can't entirely prevent this as long as my artwork is on the internet, and as long as people simply don't care about my feelings, but to the ones that do have the capacity to understand: Please refrain from doing so. Also, credit should not be used as a free card for you to do what you want with others' intellectual property unless they gave you the ok - unauthorized use even with credit, is still unauthorized use.

This is more specific and might offend and upset people which I apologize for in advance but please do not make my Lucilius art about other characters and ships when they're not mentioned or necessarily being alluded to... and especially when there's no indication of me enjoying the ship on my blog at all. Please also don't say stuff along the vein of 'Lucilius wouldn't do this in canon but (compliments anyway as if it cancels out the previous unwarranted statement)' on my ship art. I find it rather rude and upsetting. I read my tags even when I don't seem to be reactive or responsive. I see this stuff. It's disheartening. It makes me feel bad. I should be allowed a space where I can freely be deluded and draw what I want even if it doesn't directly align with others' view of canon, if it upsets people, they have the necessary means to avoid and ignore my work. What I draw isn't intended to be an accurate representation of lore. That's why I refer to them as delusions or draw them under the premise of an alternative world where things have occurred differently. I recognize that the tags I saw also weren't carrying ill intent at all and perhaps thought they were being playful, but they still left a bad flavor in my mouth. There are just some comments better kept to oneself. And besides, there's already a lot of fanwork for other ships for you to enjoy out there.

I made these sketches the week SOTM launched, and I didn't think about posting them at the time. I recently looked at them again and thought "hmm, why not". In my own way, I decided to add a *little* color to make it a little more nice,and I edited the image *just* a little,and boom, here it is. My Riley Wells design. There's not much to say about the process of creating her design. I only used the portrait you find in the game as a reference, and I made a design of her at the time she joined JDS and then Gent. There's not much to say,really.

These were sketches made after I made an initial sketch of her to put the idea of her design on paper, and were made to help solidify and test out her design better. I haven't drawn her since.

So, yeah. They aren't much, and I don't have much to say about them. But I wanted to eventually show my design that I made of her. Plus, those sketches turned out quite nice,so there's that.

Other than a small idea that I don't know when I'll do, I don't have anything in mind that could result in drawing Riley again in the future. But hey, in case one day I end up wanting to draw her again, at least I have a design prepared for the occasion.

i was suddenly reminded of that one time i saw someone find out that alt text on images can be used for training image recognition ai and then of course they started coming up with stupid schemes to """Poison""" the alt text and make it unusable for AI, which, of course, would also make the alt text unusable for blind people, defeating the purpose of adding alt text in the first place, but that's probably fine because *Extremely loud dial up modem noise* I'm still annoyed at whoever this was even though I will probably never see them again and wouldn't remember them if I did I can hold the most random grudges ever

HIIIII HELENA honestly I'm so glad you asked I think you'd love them but BASICALLYYYYY one of my mutuals, hella, @tbos-main, has this really cool original fantasy wip, the blood of serpents, which I am OBSESSED with so I do fandom post about it like any other media, and two of the characters are nate and rin. well. naithairan and herines technically but I'm on nickname basis with them. and I can explain tbos in more detail but since you asked about narines specifically, they are two characters who are very much on opposing sides of the central conflict and in a way that IS irreconcilable like. it has to be genuine all consuming hate it's bad. but they're also narrative foils and parallels and whatnot and outside of the main ideological difference in regards to the central conflict, they are very similar people in a very fucked up way, they're both martyr figures with a lot of religious themes, they both have had to learn the language of violence well, they both are willing to go to unfathomably low depths of morality and monstrousness in the pursuit of protecting the people they love, they're both incredibly calculating and callous, and so they have this INSANEEE dynamic that is very much "I see me in you I see everything I hate about myself in you I need to kill you because I need to be killed but yet I cannot kill you because that would be like taking a knife to myself and we recognize each other deeply and intimately in a very specific way no one else can and I HATEE you for it" and so like. they should fuck about that. obviously.
