I dont personallyyyy think the college thing is gonna happen with Papyrus (for several reasons-) BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN I DON’T ENJOY IT A LOT 😭 Him, Asriel, and Frisk all being buddies is really cute.

I DO think Papyrus and Asriel should/could definitely have a/some fun interaction in Deltarune when they both pop up….eventually…

And just Frisk being in Deltarune is something I feel like everyone would enjoy-

Im also a supporter of the Papyrus Is The Knight guild, and I will DIE on this hill until im either proven wrong and I shamefully drag my feet to AO3 where I am forced to dream of what could have been, or proven right and get to freak out about it for the next 30 years of my life. you don't have to answer this if you don't want to but i just wanna say that growth spurt and AFR are exactly what i was thinking of as good examples of "asriel comes back" AUs when i left those tags on your post haha! i love those specifically because they're among the few that don't erase his trauma and his time as flowey as now being a permanent part of who he is. if, instead, you just revert him back into the same sweet little goat boy he used to be, i feel like you remove the entire point of his story and everything that's interesting about the canon ending and what we see in the alarm clock dialogue.

yeah exactly!!! i think afr and growth spurt are some of the few post pacifist aus that really do asriel justice i love them SOOO much. i have my own au but its more like. asriel never died so now hes just flowey dealing with looking like asriel cuz he still reacts the same way to trauma. but anyway afr is so good its by far my favorite au i drew these like. two years ago i think after reading it. afr asriel is the character of all time i love them SO much i really should draw them again soon. theres just something really special about the way her character arc is written i stayed up literally all night with a migraine to finish reading it cuz its written so well

I know there are some theories about what happens in Soulless Pacifist and what Chara is up to (genuinely out to kill and maybe has already killed? passive aggressive little pissbaby getting in a Sans-style passive aggressive parting shot?), but what if BOTH were true?

Chara is genuinely corrupted and dead inside, just playing along until they can kill on the Surface because that's their purpose, that's the only meaning they can get out of what they've seen and experienced, they can't connect to these people anymore

and how CAN they

Toriel looks through them

Asgore won't even say their name

They're a ghost, unanchored and adrift, unloved and unwanted, tied to a heartless higher being who plays with all its toys and breaks them and doesn't care.

So why should they?

And then

Asriel tells them how much he loves them.

Asriel keeps calling them by name, and keeps telling them how much he loves them.

And Asriel starts crying.

(They hate seeing him cry.)

Until even THIS Lost Soul, turned twisted and made malignant, starts to remember.

How he found them.

How he saved them.

Being a family…

So when Frisk calls out one last time, it SAVES two Lost SOULs simultaneously - like Sans and Papyrus, like Asgore and Toriel - and Chara and Asriel.

(Asriel SAVEs Chara AND the world without even knowing it. Through the power of being a crybaby. GOATed.)

(Not pictured: Chara, snapped back to their old self and now in an emotional tailspin of guilt and anger and other complicated emotions over what they did, lets it out in the most emotionally healthy and constructive manner possible! Tormenting their "partner" with creepy faces and creepy photos to guilt-trip them into leaving, because that always makes Chara feel better >=))
