Pinnie! Pick me! I'm desperately in love with Livius, and in one of your posts, you said he's really, really depressive. Is that as close to having his own personality as he can get? Would he turn into a bitter person if he didn't have anyone to copy, or would he just keep the latest personality he had until a new person showed up?

(I would give my life for Livius if he asked. Frfr I'm on the slab rn, knife in my hand pointed at my heart)

When Livius is entirely on his own, he becomes a very quiet, very introspective person. He doesn't facially emote much unless he's recalling memories of someone and he generally feels "lost". Livius enters a state of dysfunction where tasks are hard or even impossible to perform and he's prone to standing still doing absolutely nothing of worth for long stretches of time. Is this the real him? He wouldn't say such.

Around someone, he immediately transforms, very quickly taking on their traits or adopting a persona that'll complement or frustrate them. The key concept here being the presence of others. Other people are what keeps Livius functional and dynamic. The more people he's asound, the more range his behaviors and attitudes acquire.

Marie threw some lengths of thin white cord over towards the two women now both taking up standing positions behind the two Germans. Hans looked at the older woman pleadingly, still hoping this was some sort of game or mistake. “But, Madame Dubois,” he beseeched, “we have to return to base in two hours, we don’t have time for any games. Besides, I wish to make love to my Louise…”

“Shut up!” retorted Marie sharply, levelling the gun at the asounded sailor. “Tie them behind their backs, ladies!” she instructed Louise and Gabrielle.

Louise roughly pulled Hans’ hands behind him and began binding his wrists with the cord. The young man still looked bemused and disbelieving. “Worry not, darling,” he whispered over his shoulder towards the dark haired woman, “I will talk her out of this madness. We can yet escape.” Louise just laughed contemptuously and for the first time the romantic young sailor thought that something might be seriously wrong.

“Will you hold still!” Gabrielle ordered impatiently as she bound Helmut. The soldier was struggling, but drunk as he was, to little avail in the woman’s strong grip. “What are you doing, you cow?” Helmut slurred who, unlike Hans, had grasped straight away all was not right, despite the whisky. “Shut up or I will gag you with my stockings you love so much!” Gabrielle replied crossly.
