Areo Hotah gets a lot of hate, but I've actually come around to appreciating Areo's lack-of-voice as a telling character feature in itself, especially taken in contrast to the other POVs. Writing the lack of something, or someone who is acting on a significant amount of restraint, is very difficult, and since we know GRRM can write people who are bursting with personality so well, I think it's cool he tackled someone who really is the opposite.

Plus, Areo himself—fittingly, the camera that rides, who only observes, thinks so few thoughts of his own, and barely talks in his own chapters—is the perfect foil to the layers and layers of doublespeak and subterfuge that are central to the Dorne chapters.

The average age a Targaryen monarch first became a parent is 19.61 years.
