Thy Kingdom Airways
Attention all passengers, please fasten your seatbelts. We are preparing for take-off. This time our analytic journey will revolve around planes as a recurring motif in Good Omens 2 and possibly Good Omens 3. Since a part of this post will add some new crumbs of information about the ongoing production to the discourse, please make sure to spoiler tag your replies accordingly.
Tumblr media
We’re starting literally at the beginning, AND YES, I’m painfully aware that this is my third time breaking apart this particular scene from the new title sequence (Peter Anderson, I’m in your walls). We’re witnesses to the Second Coming brought to us via Thy Kingdom Airways.
Tumblr media
And this big silver plane is actually a part of some good old — literally 20-year-old — spoilers from the never published Good Omens sequel:
Tumblr media
Director Douglas Mackinnon personally chose the poster for A Matter of Life and Death / Stairway to Heaven (1946) to appear here as well. The movie itself is referenced multiple times in both seasons of the show, but what interests us here is the fact that its MC is a British pilot who dies in a plane crash.
Tumblr media
He gets another chance at life due to an angel’s error and eventually must argue for his life before a celestial court, hoping to prolong his fledgling romance with a radio operator who shared his last moments on Earth over the airwaves.
Tumblr media
Douglas is also responsible for the movie playing in the background of The Resurrectionist pub scene in S02E06 — The Spirit of St. Louis (1957), a biopic of Charles Lindbergh, the pilot who made the first nonstop solo flight from New York to Paris.
Tumblr media
To finish the transatlantic flight, Lindbergh has to stay awake for 33 hours (33 happens to be biblically significant, i.a. as the age of the crucified Jesus). He succeeds by talking to a fly that had buzzed into the cockpit and reminiscing to it about his life (via flashbacks).
Tumblr media
Once an accident, twice a coincidence, three times a pattern, right? So there’s a plane. And a character traveling through time and space to navigate some dangerous circumstances. Looking for help or… clues? The danger is either their own feelings or something more ominous here.
Flash-forward to 2025. It might be completely off, but considering the overall panic I think it’s worth mentioning that I found some crumbs of information suggesting a Good Omens film shoot with a certain amount of angels at an airport right now.
I was casually screening the extras’ profiles for Good Omens 3 the other day, as one does to learn that e.g., one of them is a professional contortionist (really!) and after a while, it came to my attention that a few of the profiles repeated mentions of “angels”, “2nd unit angels”, and “airport” across a few days in late February. Interestingly, some of them also listed sword fighting skills and law enforcement background underneath.
The implications seem obvious to anyone familiar with the plot of the unpublished Good Omens sequel and what I just shared above: please take a minute of your time to consider Aziraphale in a new suit, new hairstyle, a headset, and surrounded by at least one unit of angelic bodyguards in dark glasses.
Now, the filming dates in question consist of days and months only, so technically could also refer to their Good Omens 2 work since some (not all) of the extras were also employed by the show at the time. And Heaven’s corridors scenes could be shot at an airport instead of a studio, right? But the thing is, the background angels seen on screen in S2… don’t seem to match the profiles I found.
A perfunctory social media screening revealed one mention of Boeing 737 interior scenes filmed this month in the area, at Dunsfold Aerodrome. Is this connected? No idea, but if at least some of my speculations are correct, a follow-up exterior shoot at an airport would make sense.
Tumblr media
Another interesting crumb that may or may not be related in some way is this photograph from the set shared by Guy Spangler, a professional dressing props specialist and armourer on Good Omens 3. Not quite the big silver plane of Thy Kingdom Airways we’re waiting for, but still!

finally drew clora and seb's kids!!🙌🙌
Celeste Sallow: OK THIS IS THE NAME IM SUPER PROUD OF BAHAHA because not only does the name celeste relate to the stars (in typical ravenclaw fashion...clora picked the name) but celeste sallow is also an alliteration. BUT, its an alliteration that begins with a C, which means clora gets to match with celeste in the form of both of their names starting with a C, whereas sebastian gets to match with celeste because both of their names are an alliteration/they're alliteration allies🥹ITS THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS!🥳
Lewis Sallow: as for lewis, if you've read my fic then you know that seb has a vendetta against names that start with an L bahaha, but 'lewis' was actually HIS idea. when celeste was born, seb wanted to find a muggle story to read to her, since clora's favourite story is ALSO a muggle one (sherlock), and he wanted to stick with tradition. so he ended up finding alice in wonderland, which he loved because of how adventurous and clever alice was and of how much she reminded him of clora and celeste (both personality and looks wise). it became his favourite for those reasons, to the point that when they had lewis, sebastian overcame his L-name hatred by naming their son after lewis carroll.
Houses: celeste could have been sorted into either gryffindor or slytherin, but ultimately ends up in slytherin because she wants to be like seb. kinda like how clora also probably could have been in gryffindor, tbh. as for lewis.....him being 10000% in ravenclaw doesnt need any explanation BAHA, just look at him.
Appearance: since clora has a tiny bit of veela blood in her, thats obvs passed down to their kids, too, and so they mostly take after her as a result of it. but there's still little bits of seb that shine through in each of the kids: for lewis its his brown curly hair, and for celeste its her complexion/freckles. and the fact that celeste looks so similar to clora only doubles up sebastian's stress/protective instincts when he watches her BAHAH. he's ofc still proud that she takes after him so closely, but seb also cant deny that he wishes it had been their SON that had taken after him instead, to keep her out of danger.
Celeste & Lewis: for celeste and lewis’ relationship, celeste is a super proud big sister, and treats lewis kinda like how seb treats clora. if there's anything that needs to be done, she offers to do it for him. and although she doesn’t have the patience to read stories herself, she loves playing outside and having lewis read to her in the background, and loves to act out/use his stories to fuel her imagination. and lewis makes sure to pick stories that he KNOWS she’ll like (which mostly involve heroic and daring feats of adventurers or pirates. he's tried to read more classic fairytales and romances to her a few times, but celeste always gets bored). she loves to draw though, so sometimes when lewis reads books that have no pictures, she'll draw them herself.
Celeste & Seb/Clora: celeste is a daddy's girl LOL and always tries to impress seb with the stuff she does, especially after hearing how HE was at her age, and so its half to impress and half because shes competitive that she wants to do the same/be just as good. and seb always gets a kick out of hearing her feats in the crossed wands club, or in defense against the dark arts class, and he also goads her on, telling her she'll have to do better than that if she wants to be as good as HE was. and whenever celeste gets detention, clora always stresses and asks why, whereas seb just tries to keep the smirk off his face. as for celeste and clora, clora also reads to celeste, and bakes and cooks with her, which is something celeste actually likes doing. not only because it keeps her busy and she likes to help and get messy in general, but also because she likes the fact that it results in good food afterwards LOL, and constantly asks when things can be taken out of the oven. also, for as tomboy-y as celeste is, she honestly doesn't mind/likes the clothing that clora puts her in and likes when clora dresses her up, bc it makes her look like one of the princesses from the storybooks, and it just amuses her more than anything else. once she enters hogwarts, though, its mostly trousers. but she still DOES like the occasional girly clothing.
Lewis & Seb/Clora: lewis is a momma's boy LOL and unlike celeste, doesnt care about duelling or of proving himself or anything like that, and is only concerned with stories and his future studies. so ofc clora had to show him sherlock, which he naturally loved. it even inspired lewis to want to write his own stories, so that he could challenge his own skill and see if he could, but also because he wants his mom to read them, and likes the idea of writing his own sherlock-esque story with equations and mysteries to be solved that he can offer her. lewis also wants to write a book for celeste as well, bc although he wont admit it, he basically wants to write a story tailor-made for her and her interests. one that he thinks will have everything she’d love in it. and part of it is genuinely because he WANTS to do it for her, but the other part of it is also for his ego, and to see if he CAN write a compelling story, and write something that would actually get THE hyperactive celeste to sit down and read it in its entirety (not to mention of her own volition). as for with seb, lewis looks up to him more than anyone else, due to how well-rounded he is and how hes so good at practical stuff AND studying, and he kinda sees seb as a main character/protagonist from one of his books, and uses sebastian as inspiration for his own stories. if hes stuck on what he thinks the dashing main character should do next, he'll ask his dad what HE would do, which results in seb getting very weird questions that he nonetheless is always happy to answer. also, when lewis is older and finally learns the full story of what happened with clora and seb and ranrok and rookwood, he writes their story in novel form, except he just changes their names/some of the details, and it becomes a best seller LOL. and i didnt know where to put this, but the four of them all read a story before bed every night, with lewis in the middle and seb and clora on either side of him. though celeste stands at the foot of the bed, basically doing a charade/mime show of what theyre reading, and putting on a little play to go along with it BAHHA.
OK thats all i can think of for now ive yapped enough😩 if youve read all of this ur a real one.... ive also considered giving them a 3rd (and last) child, which would be a boy that looks exactly like seb, and seb would just be praying like please.....let this son take after me🧎‍♂️🙏 BAHHA

#mrs flood who are you: time lord edition
#dwedit#doctor who#mrs flood#fifteenth doctor#the master#jacobi!master#tenth doctor#jack harkness#martha jones#twelfth doctor#ninth doctor#*#okay here is my argument: mrs flood IS a time lord but her presence here has nothing to do with the doctor#instead she's here because of ruby. she's seemingly part of/related to the pantheon of discord & we know that ruby is connected to them too#so i think that she was deliberately placed as ruby's neighbor by the pantheon/oldest one/ruby's mom/? in order to watch over her#it also explains why she was there to check on ruby in 1.04. once she realizes she's on the phone w carla she says 'nothing to do with me'#and she leaves. which implies that it COULD have had something to do with her. if it had been something else going on#ANYWAY. to get to the time lordness of it all. rn i personally believe that she's a time lord that's been hiding on earth for 50+ years#bc i don't think she recognized the police box as a tardis initially. that first quote should be taken at face value.#instead picture this: she's watching over ruby as per usual. a police box is there - weird but nbd. then it dematerializes in front of her.#she drops her groceries. she's shocked. she kinda looks scared. if she already knew it was a tardis why would she react like that?#so imo she knows OF tardises. she DIDN'T know the police box was one. and she's worried the time lords have found her hence the fear.#but when nothing happens and nobody comes at her she realizes she's still safe#later when she sees the doctor she realizes the tardis is his/he must be a time lord. he doesn't identify her but that's happened before#so then when she asks him who he is i think what she's actually asking for is his title. WHICH time lord are you.#bc lbr if she knows abt tardises then she knows about time lords and if she knows abt time lords she knows what it means for ruby#to be joining him - and that's why she wishes ruby good luck. meanwhile this is clearly the outcome she WANTS (them to be together)#bc she gets visibly upset when the doctor seems to decide to leave without ruby.#and for once i'm not master clowning bc the list of names the doctor gives out is VERY interesting. some of them we've never heard before:#the bishop; the conquistador; later he adds the pedant and sagi-shi and reiterates the bishop AGAIN. so i wonder if she's the bishop.....

I think it’s weird to say 911 is queerbaiting Buddie when it’s already a heavily queer show. Like, even if that specific queer ship isn’t together right now, they’re not misleading people into thinking it’s a queer show when it’s not—it has had main queer characters since the beginning and has only gotten more queer over time. The creators of the show even have a different show with a main gay ship that gets significant screentime together (Tarlos).
It’s frustrating because it feels like people hinge all their representation expectations on a specific ship becoming canon. And yeah, I love Buddie, but that’s not how representation works. For one, Hen and Michael have been rep since the beginning, and for two, Buck is canonically bi now, and that’s true regardless of whether Buddie becomes canon. The state of queer representation in 911 does not hinge on Buddie, even if Buddie would be nice.
It’s also frustrating because part of the goal in normalizing representation is that more canon queer ships can be treated narratively the same as straight ships. That means sometimes they won’t get together immediately (please give me more queer slowburns). And if it does become canon, I honestly think that for Buddie, all the time it took would only make the relationship more interesting and meaningful, not less. It wouldn’t be Buddie to me if they got together back in season 2 or something.
And for anyone going, “what about all the interviews?” Well, for one, often the interviewers are the ones prompting the Buddie questions, and actors have to be careful about their answers. And for two, fans have a tendency to read into things from their own bias—it’s normal to do that but it means I’ve seen a lot of people reading into statements as being about Buddie when there’s a lot of other reasonable explanations.

OOC but I hate how Narancia is characterized by the fandom as the "uwu baby soft boy idiot." Like yes, he's the most childish of the group, displays empathy, and wasn't educated. But shockingly, the fandom is completely minimizing his character. (i say, sarcastically)
For one, he's incredibly violent?? From the start this boy has been whipping out a switchblade at anyone and everyone who bothered him. This 17 year old leaves a trail of swiss-cheesed bodies in his wake but somehow gets characterized as an "uwu smol bean". Narancia would beat you up and mow you down if he thought you were an enemy and not lose sleep over it 😭
He's also not stupid? He's often characterized as such because he is shown as naive, uneducated, bad at math, etc. With the exception of math, I'd argue he's just the average 17 year old. One of his major character flaws is that he trusts and loves his friends too much, as shown in his backstory and how he quickly grows to trust both Giorno and Trish, who are newcomers. His naivety is also why he's uneducated, because he ran away from school and home to go be with people he thought cared about him. This ultimately became a decision that Narancia regrets and is actively trying to make up for. Despite complaining, he wanted Fugo to tutor him, to go back to school and to make up for his mistakes as a young child.
Narancia also carries two solo fights with Aerosmith (which really isn't the best stand out there), winning in some part due to the fact that his opponents always underestimate him. Just like a large set of the audience, they assume Narancia's stupidity due to his lack of a formal education. And yet, he 2v1's the boss's elite guards (with an assist from Giorno) and paints the streets with Formaggio, a trained assassin. He also knows enough about the human body to cauterize his hands mid-fight to keep GIorno from getting close to him!
TL;DR- Calling Narancia a "stupid smol boy" or similar is reductive of his entire character, especially when he shows emotional and battle intelligence throughout the entire part.

DBDA character colour dynamics
Dead Boy Detectives did something really fun with giving each main character a 'hero colour', and utilised that to make subtle stories about that character as their colours change. And I want to talk about it and flex my knowledge of the colour wheel.
I'm not going to go through every colour and what they represent because I know a lot of people have done that (Asidian is one of note, go check those out they're really good)
But what I will talk about is opposing colours - also referred to as complimentary colours - and how they inform character dynamics.
The show very clearly presents the four main characters' primary colour palette or 'hero colours', especially with what they wear. Edwin is always wearing his blue-toned school uniform, and I think it is a wonderful representation of his character that the outfit is not a bright, clear blue. I know there was talk about a version of Edwin's outfit being a blue suit (which would have looked amazing but I prefer the outfit we were given for analysis sake), but Edwin's outfit being a subtler representation of his hero colour ties into him presenting himself as a subtle character.
He keeps to himself, and no one really gets to know how he really is until they get close, he's often got a large coat covering everything else - his colour is so barely obvious because he does not let himself be obvious.
There's also the matter of colour meanings (which I won't get too into), as Edwin represents blue; blue as in calm, but also blue as in sadness. Edwin is a very put together character. But he's also a very lonely character. He's almost always wearing a dull blue.
Tumblr media
A fun thing with having colour-coded-characters is that there is opportunity for there to be hidden implications between characters of opposing colour schemes. I'm not actually sure if the show meant to play with these implications, because a lot of the characters don't have attributed colours, but I never doubt costume designers and it's fun to imagine.
Edwin's colour is blue, and the opposing colour of blue is in fact orange. And I don't know about other people, but I see the Cat King to be representative of the colour orange. He's introduced as a ginger cat, he's wearing earthy tones every time we see him during that Life, and he's got that sparkly coat from ep6 (which I will touch on later).
And that makes dynamics really fun. Because it again positions Edwin and the Cat King as oppositions on another, subtler level. The Cat King is constantly trying to push Edwin to be less reserved, to act on what he feels; he's pushing his buttons, he's pulling his pigtails, he's being a real fucking shit, and the general opposite of how Edwin tries to present himself.
But, blue and orange are also complimentary colours; they bring out how different the other looks, and make them more vibrant (some even say "they bring out the best in each other"). And you can definitely argue that those things all happen between Edwin and the Cat King.
The Cat King's influence allows Edwin to accept himself more than he has been repressing for his entire life. And the Cat King is finally shown someone who isn't taking his shit and not falling into him easy, and actually almost causes some self reflection.
These colours as representing actually expands in the scene where the Cat King appears in The Creeping Forest, he is wearing a coat that is mostly blue, but with orange/brown details. And Edwin is wearing an outfit that has blue/teal underneath, with his brown coat on top. They're influencing each other! Edwin lets the Cat King get closer for a moment, and the Cat King has been letting Edwin unconsciously endear himself to the Cat King.
Then there is their final interaction, where the Cat King has changed lives and also changed colours. He is no longer opposing or complimenting Edwin, his colour is now the shade of black. They are no longer at odds, they have completed their game.
Tumblr media
NOW about Edwin's confession-attempt sweater.
His sweater is a greener colour than he has been wearing for the entirety of the show (more of a teal). Green is in fact the opposing/complimentary colour of red. It could be seen as Edwin - attempting to create a 'perfect confession' to Charles - going for a colour that compliments him better than his typical blue tones.
This makes the confession in hell all the more impactful because Edwin is only wearing white in that scene - he's not complimenting or opposing anyone, he's confessing rushed, unplanned, in the worst of places, but that doesn't matter! Because Edwin and Charles have never been complimentary colours in the 3 decades they've known each other and that's okay! That's great even! Charles doesn't need Edwin to compliment/oppose him in character colours and he expresses that with his response to Edwin's confession.
This lack of colour is presented in episode 1, in the moments where it's just Edwin and Charles alone in their office, working out a case, they've both stripped down into their underclothes, shedding their character colours. In those moments their colours and subsequent balances don't matter, because it's just them.
Tumblr media
A fun thing that I always love with duo characters is when there is a warm-toned character and a cool-toned character, and Charles and Edwin are that exactly. Charles has the warm colour of red, as well as a darker jacket and coat and gold (warm) jewellery. Edwin has cool tones of dulled blue blazer, dark blue vest and bow tie, and a lighter brown coat.
I'm actually going to recommend that you check out some gifsets of the show and characters because there are creators out there who colour their gifs showing the warm/cool tones really well, even between characters and the background. (wordsinhaled, sasakiniko, every-moment-a-different-sound, to name a few, there's definitely more)
-
I'm sure most people know about the infamous red-smear hospital design tumblr post and the double-meanings of the colour red, so I won't get too into that. That being said:
Red represents passion, strength, love, etc. But it also represents anger and danger. Having Charles' hero colour be red allows for representation of his constant internal battle. He tries so so hard to be there for his friends, to be liked, to be the one "keeping spirits up", but he's also terrified that his anger makes him a "bad guy", and that he really is just his father. By being his hero colour, he allows himself to be both. But he's also claiming it as his own in a way.
There's also the matter of Charles losing his hero colour as he gets more and more distressed throughout the show. He's losing all that the colour represents, but he's also losing himself. He doesn't feel like a hero anymore. When his shirt is black, the show isn't toned as warmly. He isn't toned as warmly.
But then there's the moment in episode 5. (I've seen this in a post but I cannot find it so if anyone knows lmk and I'll mention the creator) The episode 5 hug, when Charles expresses all his fears to Edwin of becoming what he's afraid of and all that he's hidden. Edwin, as he reassures Charles: tugs at Charles' lapels, straightens a pin, and lifts Charles' coat collar, exposing the red underneath. Edwin brings back Charles' hero colour to him, even before his shirt changes back on its own.
Charles' colour opposition is against himself not anyone coloured green. Toning his shirt darker is a brilliant way to demonstrate how he feels like he is growing darker and less of a hero, and it's subtle enough that you don't notice it all the time. Also it would've looked horrific having his shirt turn slowly green.
Tumblr media
There's also the matter of the colouring of the lights of Heaven and Hell. I know that Heaven is coloured blue because in the Sandman comics they present Death taking someone with a black wing shape over blue - which the show uses.
Edwin's hero colour is blue, the colour of Heaven, which is ironic because he has only ever been destined for Hell. However, it is prominent especially in the scene of Charles choosing to go with Edwin instead of Death. We see the bright blue of Death pour in from the window, but Charles doesn't choose that light, he chooses Edwin instead, a different shade of blue.
What's also interesting is that Charles isn't red in that moment; it's the same set of colours as the confession, one of them isn't wearing their hero colour, the other is, and the connection between them still works.
Charles chooses Edwin over Heaven. Edwin's confession is accepted. 30+ years and they still don't need that colour compliment. But I digress.
There's also the matter that Hell's colour is represented by red. A bright, brilliant red. Very similar to Charles' typical shirt.
Now I could say how Charles would recognise that as him being hellish, or similar to Hell in anyway BUT instead I am going to say how, while Edwin may be destined for Hell, he doesn't get it, he gets something else red that is much much more lovely.
The boys hero colours represent what each other's afterlives would be, but they don't need those afterlives because they have each other representing them anyway.
--
Okay move over boys I want to talk about Crystal
Crystal's hero colour is also quite obvious from the get-go, as she is almost always wearing some shade of purple, and when she isn't, I feel like they colour tone her hair so it looks a little reddish-purple (check out ep3 and 6 and tell me if I'm insane).
The choice for purple as her colour is perfect because while purple is a dark colour and often associated with black or red to seem 'evil', it's not a completely menacing colour. Just like Crystal, who may seem harsh or rude (or, as we see in her memories, a real bitch), but is actually just someone who is trying and caring. So, she gets a royal colour.
Purple is also apparently the colour of spirituality, so there's a little reference to her psychic background.
It's also the colour you get when combining blue and red. Crystal is both a combination of Edwin and Charles, but she also allows them to be closer together. Anyway like I said this isn't about them.
I don't think that Crystal wears purple much in the memories we see of her, representing how she wasn't really ever herself in those moments: she was masquerading as someone else. She's also not wearing her hero colour because, well, she's not a hero in those moments.
Purple's opposing colour is in fact yellow. And Crystal's opposition for the majority of the show is David the Demon. Now David isn't really yellow, he's more brown, but I'm preferring to think of it as a tainted, ruined yellow. Because he is of course, a demon. He's ruining Crystal's life, he's ruining the life of the guy he's possessing, he's dirtying everything he puts his hands on, so it makes sense that he'd ruin his colour. It's not much of a hero colour anyway.
I lied earlier, when I said that Crystal doesn't wear purple in her memories, I think she does wear purple when she is with David. Which does make sense! She seems to be trying to be a little bit more herself with him, she even says she "-thought it was love". What's interesting is that the purple she wears in those scenes is a darker purple than we see her in later episodes. That purple is almost menacing, because she's being influenced by a literal demon.
Crystal wearing her hero colour in those scenes also emphasises her contrast to David. They are technically complimenting each other, bringing out the worst, but they're also opposing. David doesn't actually love Crystal, he just wants to possess someone powerful. The context differs with their perspective, but no matter what we can see that they are on completely different ends of the colour wheel. Especially seeing as David's yellow can hardly be called that.
When Crystal brings David to her Mind Tree, where everything is coloured purple, the yellow is cancelled out. You can't see it very well at all, because David is not the one in control, it isn't his turf and it isn't about him. It's Crystal's moment, and bathed in her hero colour, she defeats her villain.
(I don't know why the inside of Crystal's head with the eyes is blue. It doesn't line up with anything I'm analysing and I don't understand it. Maybe it's just cause it looks good)
Tumblr media
Niko has a hero colour, but is not defined by it. And I think that's because she does not see herself as a hero. "[She] knows [she's] not the bravest" and she's always a little shocked and excited to be invited on cases; she doesn't see herself within the 'hero' stereotype, and therefore does not often wear her hero colour.
Niko's hero colour is pink, which is interesting for a few reasons, one is that pink doesn't really have an opposing colour. Sometimes pink is just considered an extension of red and therefore green is a possible complimentary colour.
This kind of falls into the idea of Charles and Niko being similar, both trying to stay positive when it feels like their life (or death) is falling apart a bit, both the 'sunshine to a grumpy', both sweethearts. This leads on to my argument that we were robbed of Niko and Charles interactio--
Also the fact that Niko has no opps. Her ever-changing wardrobe stops that and also because how could you hate her.
While other characters' colours tie into where they are in their arc, Niko's outfits seem to tie into the narrative itself.
At the end of Devlin House, Niko comes running towards Edwin, Charles and Crystal wearing green. She has been wearing this the entire episode, which has allowed her to tie into the Sprites' outfits subtly, but now she is with different characters. Now she is complimenting Charles. And this presents on screen as Niko creating a sort of distraction for Charles after the Devlin House; he can ignore what just happened, he can ignore Crystal and Edwin prying, he can just focus, as the red character, on complimenting both Niko's colour and her crowbar, letting Niko balance him out.
Tumblr media
Niko seems to only wear her hero colour in the Dead Dragons, as she sends a letter to her mother, and as she plans the date for Jenny and Maxine. This is because, to her, this is the time she is being truly brave and trying something new with new people because she wants to. She's been scared to read her mother's letters and scared to reply, but now she has braved that hill, and therefore can wear her hero colour. This then continues with the date; this is Niko's "-case of [her] own", she's the one instigating something she really thinks is going to benefit those she is trying to help! She's being brave, she's "-been helping a lot of people lately" and this is her doing this for the first time herself!
Niko's use of a blue colour palette in Creeping Forest was probably partially due to Edwin abandoning his typical hero colour to favour the teal sweater, which allows stylistically for there to be a time for Niko to be blue without the colours conflicting.
With Edwin, blue represents both calm and sadness, but with Niko I think while it represents that, it's to a different level. Niko isn't exactly calm about anything that occurs around her in episode 6, but neither is she sad, per say. She's upset about upsetting Jenny and the destruction of her idea of love, but she's more.. ambivalent about what is happening.
What's interesting is when Niko first questions Jenny about her behaviour, she's wearing the blue outfit, but the next day, after she has been thinking over her behaviour and Jenny's reaction, she's wearing an orange outfit! Which we have already established is the opposing colour to blue. Niko has changed her perspective entirely, and her outfit represents that.
And in the final episode, her outfit is white, because she has no more interactions to have, and there is no more narrative for to compliment.

Beloved if you could tell me more about how Arcane is a tragic romance staged as a geopolitical collapse in six acts i would love you forever. I find your mind so sexy
okay. i’m going to try and say something semi coherent about this, because you, my beloved mutual asked and i? would die for you.
if we’re going to talk about tragedy, we might as well start with jayce and viktor.  in true tragic fashion, they follow the classical arc to the letter: hamartia (a fatal flaw – hubris, idealism, the belief that their creation could save rather than destroy), peripeteia (the reversal – hextech becoming a weapon rather than a miracle. viktor dying, jayce bringing him back),  and anagnorisis (the moment of recognition – when they realize the cost and the damage. viktor seeing what he’s become and jayce saying what he should have said years ago). and the devastating thing is: these don’t happen separately. they collapse inward, spiral together. the tragedy hits hardest because the fall is of their own making – and because it comes too late.
if there’s anything i’ve learned from my (very humble and very deeply felt) studies in literature and literary history it’s this: romantic tragedy is not just about heartbreak. it’s about the world collapsing as a consequence of love gone wrong. loyalty, desire, misjudgement and betrayal rippling outward into total ruin. arcane doesnt just tell a tragic love story: it tells five. ten. maybe more. the show is a lattice of relationships – romantic, familial, platonic, political – and every one of them cracks in some way. and each crack runs straight through the city’s foundation somehow.
jayvik may be the most overtly mythic of them all. our science husbands, our gilgamesh and enkidu, our cautionary tale about what happens when affection tries to hold up empire  – but they’re not alone. their spiral isn’t the only one.
arcane, in its very structure, ties systemic collapse to personal grief. every conflict begins in a relationship that couldn’t hold. vi and jinx are antigone and ismene rewritten in gunpowder and neon: sisters locked on opposite sides, loyalty twisted by trauma. mel and ambessa are imperial legacy embodied: the exiled daughter who tried to love her new home, and her mother who thinks love is weakness. caitlyn standing between love, lineage and law. ekko mourning a girl who never got to grow up and jinx is the living fallout of everyone else’s failure to protect her.
even silco and vander – two men who once shared a vision of an independent zaun – become enemies, because one believes revolution requires uproar while the other hopes reasoning might still be enough. and in the end, every character is fighting someone they still remember loving once. no character fights in isolation. every blow lands on someone they once believed in. and that’s why the city burns.
because that’s the thing, right? the show treats interpersonal relationships like structural beams: when they crack, the city does, too. the emotional subplots aren’t really subplots at all: they are the plot. hextech was supposed to be a bridge: between science and magic, between piltover and zaun, between a boy who fell from grace and a man who never got the chance to rise. instead, it becomes the wedge. a miracle turned into a weapon, with the miracle workers on opposite sides of a war they helped create. when the marriage of minds ends in divorce, the whole city pays the price.
and that’s why we don’t have any neat hero-villain binaries, right? what we do have is people trying to claw their way back to something they lost. a sister, a partner, a version of themselves that they could still forgive. but every attempt to go back costs them something new, again and again. that’s the real tragedy, i think: not just the people lost, but that they keep losing the things they’re trying to save.
if you’ll allow me some nerdy indulgence i’d like to go back to jayce and viktor being our gilgamesh and enkidu by way of hextech. radiant ambition meets terminal wildness. they build a future together and then have to destroy it with their own hands. and the thing is: they don’t fall apart because the love fades, (affection is the one thing holding them together, after all). they fall apart because it festers into betrayal and all the ways they fail to reach each other across the gap that’s widened between them. the tragedy isn’t the end (though i really, really wish they had more time) – it’s everything that leads to it. they hit every note of a classical downfall: a shared dream born of light, warped by power, splintered by grief. their fatal flaws (call it hubris, call it desperation, call it idealism) spiral into the kind of break no apology can fix. and yet, in the end, when everything else is gone, they still choose each other. if antigone dies to bury the one she loves, if gilgamesh carves his grief into stone, then jayce and viktor choose to hold each other in the infinite embrace of the arcane in order to stop what they created from consuming everyone else. not to undo the damage but to stand in its ashes and say: no more.
(aristotle once said that tragedy is supposed to evoke pity and fear, and then purge those emotions through catharsis. this post? may have done the opposite. i have never feared more. i have never pitied harder. and i have certainly not been purged)

Is it just me that think that many Owl House "critics" are copied and pasted people? They're very like-minded. They constantly hate on Lilith and Amity but praise Hunter and Belos's arc and wish for more backstories, hate Luz's Palisman, think she's a real menace in the first episode, criticize Lumity and Huntlow for being unhealthy, defend Odalia as not being the abusive parent, think male characters are overshadowed by female ones.
No they are, it the the same biased shit everytime. Like I'm all for criticizing the show, I used to be more vocal about my critiques.
But whenever I see anyone else "criticizing" the show it's them hating on all the female characters (except the one dimensional abuser???) and their relationships with each other. While going on about how the male characters are so much better (except Gus because ofc) and how the female characters should revolve around the male characters more.
Or just blatant homophobia/transphobia, usually both.
Plus it's always like the same people saying this stuff and agreeing with each other like an echo chamber.
When I released that warning post, I got a ton of messages from people sending me those types of "criticisms" posts because those Daystarvoyage and Stanlunter accounts were reblogging all of them wishing death upon Dana Terrace or whatever.
No sexist 'critics' it's not the creator's fault you chose to watch a show about women for a side male character, and then got mad that everything didn't revolve around that side male character.

And no Steven Universe doesn't "hate men" either

Yikes that was one dismissive congratulatory handshake between Carlos and Lando. Am surprised, but maybe I shouldn’t be?
This feels like bait, but I'm going to answer it anyway this once.
Lando said himself it was an exhausting race, and he was out front basically the entire time. Carlos was fighting his way through the pack, so I'm sure he was equally if not more tired. Forgive them for not jumping on each other like in Miami. That was a monumental moment for Lando, same as when Lando congratulated Carlos after his first win in 2022. The other notable times they've really been together in parc fermé, which you're likely using as the basis for this message, all come when they're on the podium together (Australia, Singapore, Monaco).
Also, I'm not sure why you would not be surprised about Carlos giving Lando a fairly tame congratulatory handshake. They've shown no outward signs of ill-will or misgivings towards each other of late. -Carlos very recently stated again that Lando is one of the people he gets along with best. -Lando also recently spoke very highly of Carlos and his abilities. -They flew home from Hungary together. -Lando and Carlos' family messed with each other and their parking spots in Hungary -Before and during driver's parades, they stand and talk to each other ~75-80% of the time (x, xx, xxx, xxxx etc. etc.).
Just because they don't broadcast themselves that they hang out together in their free time or that they're not making out in parc fermé after each race doesn't mean they don't like each other or have fallen out? They are real people with real lives and feelings-- they have other relationships and feel fatigued after they've just done their literal job.
