"Ralts!!"

"Sorry," Gil startled back at the sudden exclamation. He leaned over the bushes again, but the Ralts was already crouched down and holding the green 'helmet' of its head. They were very easily startled pokemon, but they were more prone to running away than just...sitting there.

"Hey, it's okay," Gil tried to soothe the little guy, bending down to him but at a safe distance away. "I'm sorry I scared you, buddy."

The Ralts continued to huddle over itself. It was waiting for...something.

"I didn't mean to," Gil said gently. "I'm a pokemon ranger. I was just checking the area. Are you lost?"

"Ralts," the little psychic type whimpered.

Gil pulled his pokegear out of the inside pocket of his vest. He wasn't due back quite yet.

"There you are!"

Gil looked up, finding a rather intimidating looking trainer glaring down at him. He gulped; she was beautiful.

"Who's this?" she asked the Ralts, rather than asking him directly.

"Ralts-Ralts!" the pokemon answered her, scurrying in between her legs and clinging to her white denim pants. She was dressed in white all over, actually; he would think she was an ice specialist if not for the Ralts at her feet.

"Ranger," she frowned at Gil again. Maybe she was one of those super intense competitive types.

"Uh, sorry," he apologised (for nothing). Maybe it would soothe her already riled temper? "I was going to offer to help him get back to whoever was waiting for him."

She looked down at her timid little pokemon and back to him. There was a coldness in her eyes that made it seem chillier than it really was. "Ralts is...shy."

Yeah, that was clear. Gil looked at the trembling little pokemon to the much more headstrong trainer standing over it. How in the world did they happen upon each other? Gil took his hat off and straightened up to look at her more properly. She was tall, but he was still taller than her.

"How did you end up catching him?" he asked in a friendly voice. His eyes drifted to her hip, where he could see only luxury balls on her belt. She seemed severe, but she obviously cared for her pokemon. Or maybe she was just rich.

"He just...fell right into me."

Gil blinked. But the female trainer leaned down and picked Ralts up, holding it in a surprisingly gentle way. Maybe she was just protective of her pokemon, and that was what made her come across as so frosty. She was far from a young, dumb trainer running around with nothing but a bike to their name, but it seemed so strange for her to only have this little Ralts with her.

"I moved regions recently," that explained the accent. "I was camping and this little thing just...tumbled right over and into my campsite."

"Ralts," it crossed its arms and looked up at her, like a child complaining of its parent telling an embarrassing story about it.

"He has to grow into his feet a little." She smiled--she finally smiled! It was a pretty smile.

It wasn't abnormally tall...yet. But she was right, the tracks Gil had followed had made him sure it was a different pokemon all together.

"Swablu?"

Gil blinked as the Cotton Bird pokemon peeked out from behind the trainer's ponytail. It nudged some of it away with its beak. "Oh, hello."

"Well, hello," she greeted the pokemon sitting in the hood of her jacket.

"Swa!" it cooed back at her, stretching out its fluffy wings.

A Ralts and a Swablu...and with the blonde of her hair - even lighter than a Ninetales' colour - they made kind of a funny picture.

"What?" she demanded as to what he was smiling about.

Gil shook his head, still smiling at her. "It's a nice team, you have. They obviously trust you a lot."

"Hm," she relaxed some, although he got the sense that it wasn't his praise that had earned her trust. Her eyes ran over him, "what about you?"

"Uh," he blushed faintly, gripping his hat tighter, "m-me?"

"You're a pokemon ranger," she raised a brow at him, tilting her head (Swablu moved to her other shoulder). "I know you're not about pokeballs, or whatever."

That was one way to put it, Gil supposed.

"But you really don't have any pokemon with you?"

Gil shrugged, not disclosing that even for a ranger, it was a little odd to not even have a partner pokemon, free roaming or otherwise. "Not...permanently."

"Are you..." she trailed off, still regarding him warily. She had every right, now that Gil thought of it; if she was new from another region, travelling alone, obviously beautiful--it probably wasn't easy for her to trust any old trainer she ran into. "Do you get lonely?"

Gil's back straightened. That certainly was a word for it.

"S-Sorry." Ralts tilted its head up to look at her, revealing its well hidden eyes. She patted his head, "I suppose you can tell I don't speak to people much anymore."

"That's okay," Gil smiled. She was actually...kind of sweet, under that hard outside. Like a pecha berry. "I get that question a lot, as a ranger."

"Is it safe for you to be patrolling alone, in any case?" she tilted her head at him.

"Well," it wasn't without its dangers, certainly, "for the most part. I'm heading back tot he ranger centre now, actually."

The trainer's eyes lit up.

Gil met her gaze, although she looked back down at Ralts. She was stubborn. "How long have you been camping out here?"

She tapped her finger against the tip of Ralts' red crest (making the little Feeling pokemon giggle). She was...embarrassed? "Until you reach a higher rank, the salary of a pro trainer...it isn't as glamorous as the league makes it look on television."

She was done with camping, clearly. Gil straightened up, slipping his hat back on. "Well, you're welcome to come with me. There's a pokemon centre, and we're fully equipped to handle travellers for however long they need to stay."

She debated it a little more before sliding closer. "I appreciate it. I...I'm Thena."

Thena; even her name was beautiful.

Gil tried to keep his smile contained to 'normal' and not 'some creep she met in the woods'. "I"m Gil."

"Well then," she cleared her throat, trying to resume the more lofty attitude with which he'd found her. But the contrast was kind of cute. "After you, Ranger Gil."

His heart flipped over in his chest. Technically he was barely more than a junior ranger--this was his first route he was allowed to patrol by himself, and he hadn't really found his place at the ranger centre here.

No one had called him Ranger Gil before.

"Uh, r-right!" he also cleared his throat. He pulled the brim of his hat down as he felt himself blush. "This way!"

"Swab!"

He laughed as Swablu took the liberty of perching himself on top of Gil's hat for the journey.

"Swablu, stop it!"

"It's okay," Gil assured her, letting the little bird settle down on his head. "I don't mind, really."

"Swablu!"

He heard Thena sigh from behind him. "Fine, but only because he's cute."

He knew she was talking about Swablu, but still, his blush worsened.

send me "💡" and i’ll tell you a something about my muse that I had considered, but ended up not using for their story - For N!

Less so "consider" and moreso "I've swapped back and forth like....4 times", but the default version I have for N constantly changes. He was depicted with Reshiram a lot more frequently for a while, but I always felt like his goals aligned more closely with "ideals", which is Black version, so I guess I've landed on that again? But really, I think it just made me realize that I guess I can't bother to care about that anymore.

There was some small part of me that really, REALLY wanted to ignore Black and White 2 entirely or write out some alternative in between, or at least cop-out Nate/Rosa. I've grown out of this, but I'm still very, VERY salty over a lot of simpler plot directions Black and White 2 took after Black and White blew me out of the water. I get it. I want to be over it. But honestly, I still can't find the will to bring myself to play it over at any consistent rate again.

For a moment, watching Destino rise back up, looking pained almost, seemed to bring him back to reality a little. He stood a little straighter. His tail lowered somewhat, and his fur stood a little less on end. His breathing was a bit heavy from shouting so much.

His voice lowered to a growl at their initial response.

Lief: "Ohh, I am not taking this from you..."

His tail flicked behind him, hard as a whip. Quite a few more berries came tumbling out as they were shaken loose from his fuzz.

Lief: "I have half a mind to... t-to..."

They had started stepping closer. He took some steps back, now struggling to keep up his glare the longer he maintained eye contact.

As quick as it came, that burning anger faded. At best, he was moderately annoyed with how Destino was talking down to him.

At worst, he felt afraid. The calm tone of voice, the talk of execution... it brought forth a familiar, sickening feeling in his gut.

Lief: "Get away from me."

He wanted to sound firm and stand his ground, but instead his voice came out lower and audibly shaky.

Speaking of shaking. He tried to ignore that he may have literally been shaking.

Lief: "I-I said, get awa-!"

Then he saw it. The thing from his dreams.

He scrambled back in shock, nearly tumbling backwards.

Seems that this evening was going to be full of surprising events. First they had made someone cry and now Lief, someone who Destino had heard could have a little fun, shoved them and became angry at their words. Not just once, twice. What was happening? What they had said wasn't even the worst insult they could have come up with. Oh great, Felix had warned them before about the consequences of their actions. Perhaps they should have taken his advice for once. Then again, Destino didn't really want to think about their so-called friend at this current moment.

Slowly picking themselves back up from the floor after the second shove, Destino brushed themselves off with their paws, taking time to ensure everything was back in place. They turned to check themselves. Seems everything was in order, except from the pain from being pushed over. They were going to feel that for a bit. Destino placed the pillow down, looking directly into Lief’s eyes. No smile, not even a smirk. Their eyebrows furrowed and their tone was of a more serious nature.

"You know if I was given poor advice, I wouldn't take it. I would choose to ignore it. It's like if I was to tell you to jump into a fire. Would you do that? No, I doubt you would. You'd use a little bit of that initiative to consider whether it was a good idea or not. You were the one that chose to take my advice. I don't see how I could be the one to blame for all of this when you decided to act on the advice I gave you. It was your choice. Not mine."

The urge to throw an insult in there was strong. Very strong. However, it didn't seem the right time for it. Destino didn't want to cause this fairy to come at them again. They already had a deep-rooted fear of them in the first place. Who knows what this one would do if they continued to push? He seemed rather volatile at the moment. Destino had to show him they were more powerful. They couldn't let this fairy think he could do as he pleased. Destino stepped forward, getting closer to Lief. Their voice felt rather calm in tone.

"I really don't appreciate being shoved, fairy. Especially not by one of your kind. It's not often I allow someone to touch me. And for someone of your status to feel it's ok to push around royalty for the sake of your anger? If we were in my kingdom right now, I guarantee that would lead to immediate execution.”

Destino felt a little surprised that that last statement left their lips. It felt incredibly weird. They needed to dial it back a bit. Bring the vibes of the evening back. Shaking off the feeling, they brought a slightly more light-hearted tone to their voice.

"Sadly, this isn't my kingdom. I don't have the power to carry out any threats should I so desire. However, perhaps you need to consider if you should be using physical action in a place like this. I mean, looking at the amount of legends here, I doubt they'd be most pleased with some lowly mortal trying to cause a fight at a peaceful event like this. Trust me, I've had my share of legends kicking my ass. It's a pain to recover from. Go get a drink or something to calm that anger of yours, buddy. I thought maybe I'd be able to have a bit of banter or something with you but if you're going to take out your issues on me, I don't want to be a part of it. I've already got enough on my plate to deal with without having another to stack on top.”

Destino felt gross. That was too friendly for them. Urgh, this evening was turning out to be more troublesome for them than what they had hoped.

POKESHIPPING WEEK 2024!

It's that time again, pokeshippers!

Last year, we announced that the format of Pokeshipping Week - one theme per day - was getting retired. We also said that we'd still put on a celebration of some kind going forward. Well, the time is here, and I'm happy to announce that we are planning a pokeshipping zine...next year!

If you'll forgive the bait-and-switch there, we have seriously talked about doing a zine, but time got away from us this summer. So, while we do hope to tackle that undertaking in 2025, for this year, we're planning what you might call an open Pokeshipping Week!

How does it work, you ask? Simple: over the years, you all have submitted a lot of potential themes for Pokeshipping Week. For every seven that got chosen each year, plenty were left behind. Well, now you can fill November 1 to 7 with art, fics, AMVs, GIFs, graphics, etc., all about our favorite Poke-couple, using any seven you'd like from the unused themes list.

Any and all contributions are welcome, and if they're tagged #pokeshipping week 2024, we'll reblog them here and on the main @pokeshipping blog. Besides Tumblr, we’ll keep our eyes out for the tag on Twitter and DeviantART for artwork, for fanfics on FF.Net and AO3, and for AMVs on YouTube (no NSFW, please).

Have you ever had an incounter with a albino pokémon before?

'Sides the usual, "common" albino Rattata, I've seen a couple of albino 'mons back in my trainer days! First one was in Hearthome. I ain't much for contests, I was there for my Gym gauntlet, but it's a pretty popular location for 'em. People were gettin' ready for one of those expert-level Cute contests and one of those trainers had an albino persian! Which, to be honest, isn't very different from a shiny one 'sides ears and eyes. And also, thanks to Lirio I also learned that that 'mon was some kind of micro-celebrity in contests communities? I think?

I've heard from Hazel back in Hoenn that she saw a white and gold Seviper once, but she ain't what I would consider to be a reliable source, so take that with a grain of salt.

The whiff of meat immediately made him cringe. He tried his darnedest to hide that, turning his face away from the dubious Purrloin, even as his face looked a little green.

Lief: "R-right. Sure. I think I'll pass on those, uh. 'Cookies.'"

Lief @Purrloin(?): Seemingly oblivious to their disguise, he was more focused on the basket next to them. "Whatcha doing over here, buddy? And what's in the basket?"

They vaguely smelled like,,, meat? Like Tauros or Milktank.

How could that detail even slip your mind?? Oh this is what I shall claim as my champion this is my champion then just oop this is a child huh how did I end up with a child oh well. Just,! I cannot comprehend such a detail slipping I know time moves differently with God's when you're alive so long years can blink into seconds or months can feel like a lifespan it's all complex and disproportionate but you didn't even make plans with yourself on what sort of training you'd provide your champion when old enough?! I can understand waiting while Uv was a child but did you never set anything up in advance?? An area to play to learn coordination to dodge and dive and be wary of flying obstacles nearby, when Uv learned their first move did that not remind you that he needed to know more?? I'm sorry Giratina but your love for Uv and forgetfulness has endangered Uvs safety!

And stars above but all three of you are so stupid! You picked yours first, who's to say Dialga couldn't have foresaw these events with time powers?? I don't know if you three took an honorary oath to not use your respective ability to your advantage when picking a champion but even if you didn't you didn't even pick at the same time! If Dialga and Palkia knew and saw and sensed you picking Uv that immediately gave them both an edge in their choosing and with Palkia choosing last that gives an advantage over you and Dialga!

Non of these champions are going to be proportionate to the battle they need to partake in, Uv no training, Dialgas champion HAS had training and if Palkia has only just picked a champion who knows what kind of creature was found that Palkia feels so confident to call for a battle effective immediately. This little proxy war isnt fair by any means in terms of power levels experiences equality or anything! Save for Uv everyone else has an advantage if Dialga checked the flow of time and found a timeline with a champion which guaranteed victory and if Palkia already saw what you both picked and waited to choose a champion with power and typing advantage over the pair of you!

God's this is so stupid all of it and I hate it I hate it so so much because I know there's nothing I can say even if I convince you I don't know if your siblings will listen be reasonable and I don't know what sort of empathy and care your father has if Arceus here would even step in, you all need to be thrown into a pocket dimension away from everything where you can fight it out and sort out all your shit!

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, just, I don't know, this fight isn't fair I've already raved my piece about it and I still stand by the idea you three should just ask 3 rattata to have a play fight but I know your egos will get in the way and there's always going to be subtle differences between each of their strengths due to natural variation nature's what not, and you can't exactly ask a mew to create three pokemon of completely identical stats purely for this battle as creating life just for the benefit and satisfactory pleasure of God's wanting to know who's better is all kinds of messed up. Not to mention I don't know your siblings I don't know how liable any of you are to cheating which could just urg break everything in the everywhere all at once. -The Unown floats down in a sigh exhale drooping after their rant, no matter what they thought of they couldn't see anything working out, they already felt as though this was an event that could not be changed and it only made them feel worse-

Hello. My name is Ray Clayton, and my ten year old niece convinced me to try blogging for the benefit of trainers out there.

My experience encompasses pokemon care, battle tactics, training regimens and trainer coaching. Ran the Kanto League back in the day, took part in a few others. Decided the whole champion schtick ain’t for me, but the League life is.

I’ve worked with gym leaders, aspiring trainers, professors and even Elite Four members.

Piezo - Magnezone, First wild-caught partner, retired from battling to pursue crisis response for fulfillment reasons.

Bruce - Emboar, adopted from being a pet

Old Spooky - Dusclops, followed me home from Hoenn, older’n my grandpa, retired from battling

Wright - Yanmega, retired from battling due to injury

Gala - A shiny Dipplin, was in a crate of apples and adopted.

Nimbus - Dratini adopted in Paldea. Wants to learn Thunder.

Beethoven - Poliwag from a Kitakami river, gets along with everyone.

Slowking - Galarian variety. Helped get me on my feet shortly after catchin’. Name pending.

Lapras - Wounded in Blueberry Academy’s Terarium, adopted at Director’s reccomendation. Really likes roasted Aspear berries. Name pending.

Girafarig - Hatched from an egg Pyrite picked up somewhere in Paldea and guarded fiercely. Curious and energetic, name pending.

“Loyal” Three Trio - Undecided how to handle them. Caught them just to get them outta the locals’ hair. All three got attitude problems.

The ranch is also home to several Rhyhorn herds, a herd of Galarian Ponyta up north, and a gaggle of other wild Pokemon I ain’t gotten around to getting outta here yet.

People have been asking for fun facts about certain characters, but do you just have some random fun facts about any Au’s and characters?

I mean most of these fun facts *are* for my AU's and characters but hmmm, lemme see

ReverseBetrayal AU some fun facts about that one!

- No one actually gets Betrayed in this AU, the whole concept was based on the classic Betrayal stories and twisted it to misconceptions

- Ash's feeling of being left behind and betrayed, is due to how much he tried to fit into an idea for each of his friends. Being in a sudden place with all of them left him confused and unable to pick the "right" personality

- None of the companions are really friends with Each other. Some of them know of the other but they wouldnt co sider them friends. Think of "Friend of a Friend"

- Ash doesnt leave the ranch, he's so determined to stay close by in case things go wrong.

- This entire AU hinges on his friends learning to be friends with each other and learning more about Ash in general.

- May Calls out Serena for her shitty ideation of Ash, Misty calls out Iris, Dawn calls out Misty and it's an endless cycle

- Brock is the only one that knows Ash needs some space to recenter himself, though not all of the companions seem to get that. He follows along to get them to buzz off

Am I the asshole for wanting to pretend someone's Pokemon ran away?

Ok so I (F mid 20s) am a somewhat well-known breeder with her own ranch in the Sinnoh outskirts. I get a lot of trainers, rangers, and professors asking for my help and dropping Pokemon off at my ranch for a number of reasons.

About two weeks ago I had someone who looked to be a teen come in and drop off a Tauros, going for the raise and level up program a lot of breeders go for.

The issue is once the teen left and I checked it I was face to face with an underweight, nervous Tauros that only appeared like one in main shape. It’s not a Paldaen one, it was just that mistreated. It took a while for me to get it to be comfortable around me and it just started filling out again.

Well, just two days ago the teen returned asking for a report. I lied and said it only gained about 2 levels (I haven’t been able to do a lot of training but the trainer refused to accept that) and, deciding that wasn’t enough, paid for another two weeks.

He didn’t even look at the Tauros in the ranch, not bothering to check on it. And given how nervous it was I doubt it wants to see him.

So I was planning on releasing the poor pokemon myself and saying that it ran away and I can't find it currently. The answers here won't stop me from doing this, I just want to know what my reputation might be like after this?

Am I the asshole for wanting to release an abused pokemon and tell its trainer it ran away?

I know you have plant lore but I need to know if you have animal lore too. I've known for a while that the Hend ranch is...well, it's a ranch. Ranches have animals.

The mainline Pokemon series loves to continue to dance around where any animal products other than milk and honey come from, and while I know Pokemon is moreso a species choice for Jarble rather than anything more concrete, it still does make me curious.

Are animals in the Jarble setting just normal real world animals? Are they *feral* Pokemon since all the Jarbled guys are anthomons? Are they Pokemon adjacent but in an evolutionary (irl definition of evolutionart) sense i.e. ask-scrafty?

Does Tucker see cows and oxen on the ranch and just nod his head? Is this a Goofy and Pluto situation?

Your thoughts please I'm so normal about animals in Pokemon/Pokemon-adjacent settings and seeing how different people explain them.

SO... For JarbleAU.... I wasn't sure what to do for a long time! Because I've done the animals VS Pokemon... Sentient VS feral... I've done pretty much every version of it for all of my blogs/stories. I had almost contemplated just "lol lab grown meat" and such because I didn't want to try and brace the subject again Cuz whenever I do I always get someone questioning it and whatnot When most of the time it is just a Goofy/Pluto situation and I have to use that one image from Gumball of "Don't think about it too much"

BUT for Jarble, I added the Imps. The Imps changed things. Because the Imps are considered "feral" creatures. Am I just going to have a universe with only 3 non sentient creatures?? That wouldn't make any sense. That would be like a HUGE deal then. I can't have Eden casually show SUPER RARE FERAL BEING THERE ARE ONLY 3 IN THE WORLD on a livestream. That would be like a huge in universe deal. SO... I had to make a decision. I had considered doing the "Sentient VS Feral" pokemon thing again. Much like how I do for Ask-Scrafty.... BUT.... Again I just am always iffy with too many connections to pokemon to Jarble. Despite everything. I know it's a pointless thing to stress over but what can I say, I be stressin. I can't have InternetStranger45 point at me again and go "UMMMM???" I cant do it man I CANT!!!

BUT ALSO ON THE OTHER END.... I did not want to add normal animals. Like I make this fantasy setting complete with ancient gods that literally alter your personality and core as a person... and then I'm just gonna have a like. Dog? I'm just gonna have a normal dog there?? No that's boring I don't enjoy it. SO.... I decided to make the wildlife fantasy creatures! NOT pokemon, but just... general fantasy creatures that resemble their animal species. Sometimes I might make them resemble pokemon species (Like how The Imps resemble The 3 Lake Guardians) but otherwise I wanted to make them separate creatures! "But jazzy... why keep the pokemon species but design all new fantasy creatures?" consider: I don't wanna. SO All Jarble wildlife will be fantasy based creatures! WILL there still be some awkward staring at a creature that is similar to you? Probably! BUT at least they will be a entire different species. That way it is... more akin to a Human viewing a Gorilla. Tucker can live in peace on a ranch knowing that he isn't entirely related to the cattle gkjadhgkjsd
