Mirio: Hmmmm, probably the way we try and help each other being in our nature. Despite how some can be cruel, humans have this way of coming together to help both other humans and Pokémon themselves. My own desire to help Pokémon and people in need is what led me to become a ranger and open my very own sanctuary for Pokémon who have had a tough life. Whether they were trainer owned or wild.

My biggest inspiration is just British Columbia, I guess? And a bit of the rest of Canada too. But I really love my home province, it's the most beautiful place in the world to me.

I take reference photos every time I go anywhere and when I need refs I usually end up looking up places in B.C. Avian City used references from Vancouver and Surrey, and a lot of the shots from between there and Ren's Kingdom are based on places and pictures I took while visiting the sunshine coast and Vancouver Island. Lake shots are based on the various fishing lakes up in the interior, so on, so forth.

For like, media inspirations the healing/iyashikei genre like yokohama shopping log, girls last tour, and yuru camp are big inspos. For zombie stories ZOM100: bucketlist of the dead is a big one, and the last of us part 1 even though it's very cynical. I suppose in some ways minecraft and 7 days to die also given my playstyle is "ignore mobs and find a cute place to farm." but that's probably more of an alignment of interests, but they are good for making me think about resource management. Speaking of, story of seasons, of course. In particular tale of two towns, big influence on the hospital-ranch areas. And Digimon and pokemon always have influence in everything I make. And then Zutomayo's DARKEN videos inspire me a lot.

For music it's a lot of Johnny cash, the chicks, Yokohama shopping log OST, and Zutomayo but I mostly use the songs my family always plays on road trips which is a lot of 90s rock and country.

Um, fic recs, basically just search ranchers and zombie apocalypse and its variations lol, I can't really search up fic recs at the moment and I'm terrible at remembering the off the top of my head. There's one with grumbot in the title that I like a lot.

Part of the problem is also that the whole au was inspired by the fact that all the zombie aus I liked and in particular a boat boys one were all abandoned a few chapters in, so even the recs I have are mostly abandoned stories!

This is for the Mimikyu Ash au. I’ve seen and read about some of the reactions from Ash’s Pokemon about his death and reincarnation. I wanted to ask how his Greninja reacted to it all. Could Greninja sense Ash’s death and reincarnation through their bond? How was their bond affected?

Bond phenomenon works different in my world, and it also doesn't have a 2 way communication system UNLESS Greninja is evolved.

So no, Greninja couldn't feel it, and has to find out with the rest of his pokemon family that- hey... They're best friend is dead. They're brother, they're dad, they're little shit if a sibling.

He's just gone.

Greninja isn't kne to process pain and rage well, he's always been the cool collected type. So he turns to nothing.

He is nothing.

Aimlessly floating around the ranch, aimlessly getting into conversations, forgetting to eat and sleeping when his body physocally forces him too.

When Ash comes back, nothing is different for him. He doesnt feel it, because he hasn't tried to access the bond since he knew about Ash's passing.

And then Ash is back. With them.

And the giant block of apathy that lodged itself in his throat, is finally starting to disolve, it's easier to swallow, it's easier to breathe.

It's easier to be normal again.

Greninja is now able to feel emotions, helping Ash train with the rest of their family. And bow he's got the guilt settling on his shoulders.

Will the bond still work? Has anyone tried? Is it selfish to want to see now that Ash is alive again?

Has their bond broken beyond repair that Greninja wouldn't ever be that connected to Ash again?

He doesn't try, and instead tries to live his life as Greninja. Tries to get his trainer- cause no matter his shape, Ash is still Ash- back into the grind and groove of things.

He teaches Ash Pain Split, he teaches Ash substitute.

They teach him Rock Smash. No matter what- he's going to learn that.

Have you ever had an incounter with a albino pokémon before?

'Sides the usual, "common" albino Rattata, I've seen a couple of albino 'mons back in my trainer days! First one was in Hearthome. I ain't much for contests, I was there for my Gym gauntlet, but it's a pretty popular location for 'em. People were gettin' ready for one of those expert-level Cute contests and one of those trainers had an albino persian! Which, to be honest, isn't very different from a shiny one 'sides ears and eyes. And also, thanks to Lirio I also learned that that 'mon was some kind of micro-celebrity in contests communities? I think?

I've heard from Hazel back in Hoenn that she saw a white and gold Seviper once, but she ain't what I would consider to be a reliable source, so take that with a grain of salt.

POKESHIPPING WEEK 2024!

It's that time again, pokeshippers!

Last year, we announced that the format of Pokeshipping Week - one theme per day - was getting retired. We also said that we'd still put on a celebration of some kind going forward. Well, the time is here, and I'm happy to announce that we are planning a pokeshipping zine...next year!

If you'll forgive the bait-and-switch there, we have seriously talked about doing a zine, but time got away from us this summer. So, while we do hope to tackle that undertaking in 2025, for this year, we're planning what you might call an open Pokeshipping Week!

How does it work, you ask? Simple: over the years, you all have submitted a lot of potential themes for Pokeshipping Week. For every seven that got chosen each year, plenty were left behind. Well, now you can fill November 1 to 7 with art, fics, AMVs, GIFs, graphics, etc., all about our favorite Poke-couple, using any seven you'd like from the unused themes list.

Any and all contributions are welcome, and if they're tagged #pokeshipping week 2024, we'll reblog them here and on the main @pokeshipping blog. Besides Tumblr, we’ll keep our eyes out for the tag on Twitter and DeviantART for artwork, for fanfics on FF.Net and AO3, and for AMVs on YouTube (no NSFW, please).

Well, I should say I'm not here for just any one thing. I haven't really been out on my own for a little bit, and I heard stories about Faraway from a family member-so this was a chance to check it out.

I've also only ever heard of lantern festivals but never had a chance to look into them, so I thought it would be fun to do so! There's quite a lot to do around here it seems, I might try a little bit of the one game they have here... jianzi I think? It doesn't look too hard to learn.

I'm pretty surprised to see another human. These kind of remote islands tend to attract a lot of pokemon, and rare ones at that. Bit of a hideaway you could say.

Hello. My name is Ray Clayton, and my ten year old niece convinced me to try blogging for the benefit of trainers out there.

My experience encompasses pokemon care, battle tactics, training regimens and trainer coaching. Ran the Kanto League back in the day, took part in a few others. Decided the whole champion schtick ain’t for me, but the League life is.

I’ve worked with gym leaders, aspiring trainers, professors and even Elite Four members.

I am NOT qualified to offer input on medical matters beyond the dos and don’ts of training safely. I am not qualified to diagnose or assess injuries on any form of remote platform. See a veterinarian or other qualified professional for that.

Pyrite - Rhyperior, first partner. Protective.

Piezo - Magnezone, First wild-caught partner, retired from battling to pursue crisis response for fulfillment reasons.

Bruce - Emboar, adopted from being a pet. Loves battle for sport, hates violence otherwise.

Old Spooky - Dusclops, followed me home from Hoenn, older’n my grandpa, retired from battling

Wright - Yanmega, retired from battling due to injury

Gala - A shiny Hydrapple, was in a crate of apples and adopted. Currently undergoing battle training.

Nimbus - Dratini adopted in Paldea. Wants to learn Thunder.

Beethoven - Poliwag from a Kitakami river, gets along with everyone.

Boris - Galarian Slowking. Helped get me on my feet shortly after catchin’.

Aria - A Lapras wounded in Blueberry Academy’s Terarium, adopted at Director’s reccomendation. Really likes roasted Aspear berries.

Girafarig - Hatched from an egg Pyrite picked up somewhere in Paldea and guarded fiercely. Curious and energetic, name pending.

“Loyal” Three Trio - Undecided how to handle them. Caught them just to get them outta the locals’ hair. All three got attitude problems.

The ranch is also home to several Rhyhorn herds, a herd of Galarian Ponyta up north, and a gaggle of other wild Pokemon I ain’t gotten around to getting outta here yet.

//ooc time. So, this is a roleplay blog, in case you hadn’t guessed, regarding the goings-on on a fictional Rhyhorn ranch in the mountains between Galar and the Crown Tundra. A cold, dusty place, but it’s his, and that’s enough to be happy with it. Ray coaches Pokemon Trainers, particularly from the Galar League’s gyms, but anyone who comes recommended by an officially recognized League Association is welcomed. Maya and Mara are the twin ranch hands that help keep things running. As stated above, their text will be color coded. The short version of the point of setting things up this way is to be able to offer, in character, my own pointlessly varied pool of knowledge about things ranging from muscular biology to chemistry to best workout and training practices to animal behavior and, of course, around two decades now of playing Pokemon competitively. (in a casual fashion, anyway, my interest has always been exploring outside the meta to see what works that people aren’t doing yet.) In general, if it’s Ray speaking, it’s in the interest of helping anyone who wants it. Be that with worldbuilding, worldly wisdom, or fleshing out hypothetical Pokemon behaviors/medical practices. In short, I try to help fill any gaps to enrich the roleplay experience of others. If that isn’t welcome, politely decline either in or out of character. Both me and Ray will respect it and back away. I’m not looking to impose, after all. People who’ve followed the blog for a while may have seen some longer term RP collabs with others. Feel free to send DMs if your character needs a battle coach for some reason, even just as a passing thing. What I don’t have a taste for is stressful, needless drama. As in, I’d really rather not be drawn into petty or high-minded arguments or embroiled in some scandal by association or something.
