[Hmmmm...honestly? I'm not really sure. There's really only one ship I'm ride or die for in this fandom, let alone really pay attention to, and...well they're not real pure lmao. Kafei being turned into a kid aside, he and Anju seem like a really nice, pure couple. I'm betting Yona and Sidon would be super pure, considering their personalities. Any ship with Shad I think would be cute (okay not any but he deserves more love ok). Malon and Link and Ilia and Link are pretty pure? Some iterations of ZeLink, even though I don't necessarily ship it myself?

That's all I can think of. I have like two shipping takes and it's not about the purest ones lmao.]

"Senju? What's wrong?" Izuna asks. But Tobriama can't answer him more than a glance and a wheeze. "Report your injuries." He tries again, far more authoritatively. Tobirama reaches fingers down his own throat, until he gets a grip on what's growing up it enough to rip out a few leaves. At least it's only leaves -- that's one of the kinder things his body has ever expelled. "Chakra." Is all he manages to choke out before more plant life blocks his windpipe. Now that he's ripped a few free, it seems that the rest of the leaves want to follow.

"Hey Tobi, listen…" He already sounds apologetic, Tobirama braces for the sting. "I want to be alone right now, alright?" Tobirama does not want to let his brother out of his sight; he feels a little sick at the thought of it. His hands ball into fists before he forces himself to let them go. He doesn't want to argue, either. "Alright." Tobirama agrees. Hashirama smiles at him, it's brittle, but it’s the first one he's seen since -- the funeral. "I'll be back before sunset, alright?" Kim is the star (Kim is always a star). Kim never had a heart until he had Chay's. Kim, who had just been running from his father no matter the cost, who now can't bear to burn his human up.

their rule of three is the three times Kim tries to give back Chay's heart. Chay denies him, obviously, but when Kim does finally get Chay's heart back in his chest, he's downright gobsmacked he doesn't flicker and fade away.

Chay, smiling fondly, tells him Kim can't give back what he gave him freely long ago and seals the promise with a kiss.

Consider, if you will, an AU where more Uchiha (that is, Hikaku) remained loyal after Izuna died. Less of them defect to the Senju, but all that means is that the time it takes for the Senju to properly win the war stretches out to a miserable extra year or two. By the time of the final battle the Madara is so worn down that he doesn't demand Hashirama kill himself or his brother, he only tries to taunt Hashirama into finally killing him. Hashirama obviously doesn't want to do this, but there are only so many ways he can justify keeping the head of the clan he's just brought to total defeat around and treated well. Keeping him as a concubine neatly shows off just how powerful the Senju are and allows him to try and continue to bring Madara around! As you may expect, he begins to make a lot of very unwise decisions in order to keep Madara happy with him. Tobirama is initially very unhappy with this (If Hashirama isn't capable of killing Madara he can do it just fine), they argue about it, he finds himself exceptionally weak to his brother being genuinely upset with him and so he gives in and not only accepts Madara being his brother's concubine, but takes one of his own to make up for it through his support. He's already killed Izuna, he doesn't have a strong attachment to any other Uchiha, so he picks the one that seems to have taken up the roll of leadership with Madara gone. He doesn't have any particular interest in actually having a concubine, but Hikaku is interested in leveraging his new position as much as he can. ...Anyways, ask meme:

Hikaku can't imagine how civilians willingly put up with this; before now he'd hardly ever given thought to just how heavy this many layers of silk could be. He could hardly run in this, much less defend himself. Which, he is well aware, is the point. He wonders, vaguely, if he hasn't developed some kind of chronic illness that might eventually kill him. The persistent nausea that has been plaguing him for months has surged to a new uncomfortable height since Tobirama Senju sealed him into this room, and his hands have never been so unsteady.

a couple of years back i was pretty vocal about not getting when people complained about their art not getting "enough" notes. but i'm getting to recognise a sub-category of that frustration these days that, in fairness, was maybe what people were talking about all along? but i've also seen other posts mention how fandom spaces feel changed since the last few years, so maybe it's a new thing or at least a thing that hadn't reached my fandom corner until now.

i truly don't mind if my writing doesn't garner a lot of attention (although i say this from a place of priviledge where my writing has so far always garnered some attention, and often a lot more than i anticipated). but what is really starting to grate a little is the amount of attention vs. the amount of reaction. For example, before the latest update on my big multichapter fic, it sat at ~ 33,050 hits. since then the fic has been clicked 400 times. the kudos count went up by maybe three and there were three new bookmarks - this isn't super surprising because i don't expect to be reaching a lot of new people with an unfinished 100+k word fic in a dwindling fandom, and if they're return readers they can't leave new kudos. but five people have commented on the fic since the update. One percent of readers who have clicked on this fic have reacted. Did all these people see it on the recently updated feed, started to read it, didn't vibe with it and moved on? That honestly wouldn't bother me. But it's been steadily gaining attention for the last few weeks, long after it moved off the first page of the recently updated view for the fandom. so rather, I think it's mostly subscribed users (the fic has a little over 400 active subscriptions so that would make sense) or people actively checking back on the fic. in which case they must be at least somewhat invested in it.

and again, i'm not owed any feedback. i put my work out for free and people decide what to do with that. but fandom is a collaborative space, and it's been feeling like less that for a while. people seem less ready for conversation, and i think that's sad, and quite demoralising for creatives (at least for me personally). fandom work isn't meant as bingeable content that you consume and then leave. if you do that on netflix, that's fine, because you're paying the platform and they're at least supposed to recompense the creatives who made the show you just watched. fandom artists don't get that. we make things for the love of it, and because we wanted to share that love. it doesn't feel like sharing though when you put something out there and nothing comes back. it feels like standing in an empty warehouse telling my stories to nobody. and, again, i'm personally lucky enough that it's not like that all the time, but i get why people stop doing it. and i get that engaging with art as an audience member doesn't come easy to everyone, but fandom culture needs it. it's supposed to be an exchange. it's supposed to go both ways, and i think if you want to sustain the culture, you simply need to try and give something back, whatever that is.

because putting something you made out there and nobody looks at it is definitely not a great feeling, but having anonymous masses file by and look at your thing and then meet you with deafening silence feels... worse.

hey nonnie idk if gen is meant to stand in for a name or mean genuine, but please don't make me regret answering this.

those tags in my post were a nod to how before i shifted gears to 9.11 (and now even more fandoms), i primarily wrote in the m.arvel fandom. obvs, i've kept some muses, still interact with muns from the fandom but i am highly, highly private with who i follow from there. the fandom does not have a great history of being kind to jewish and/or trans muns and muses, unfortunately, and this is especially evident with wanda.

[Considering the world she lives in is full of it and two (I guess technically three since Twinrova is two people but I HC that in public they probably fused more often than not; Nabs only learned they're not one person because Ganondorf slipped up or something lmao) people she knows are highly skilled in it, she does believe in magic. However, she doesn't like it. Partially because I HC that magic is taboo among the Gerudo because it was misused in the past, with Twinrova and Ganondorf being exceptions, and partially because she sees it as cheap. She would rather win her battles by her own might and skill, not through magic spells.

There was no time to dwell on whichever place was the worst. Down came that horrible bird’s beak, bang-bang-banging on the acorn cap that she huddled under. All the while, she tried to scramble away there on the high branch and helplessly cried out at it.

“Stop! Please, stop!” She clung to the gash in her little arm with her other claw and whimpered. “You’re hurting me!”

Then, finally, she reached the edge of the branch and saw an opportunity for escape. She released her grip and fell. The thrush soon hopped off the branch, descending after her.

Melody could have flown then and outsmarted the bird in the air, but her cut distracted her and filled her head with more and more distraught questions that weighed on her and made her plummet.
