(@ask-professor-cedar-pmd) Hello, Professor Cypress! I've found something incredible, a world of only Pokemon! Also, I am currently a Sneasel, and can understand them! I think this could possibly bring about a new age in Pokemon research! Asking Pokemon themselves about what we want to know about them!
Huh, not sure I believe you as that sounds incredibly fantastical, but good luck. I mean...it sounds kinda insane, no offense; do you have proof?

(@ask-professor-cedar-pmd) Thievul: The Thievul looks up at Saguaro, before bowing their head. "Greetings. I am Professor Thievul, and I am researching humans. Where I come from, we call variant Pokemon by their types, such as 'Ice Vulpix' or 'Poison Slowking'. Why do humans use location names instead?"
"Azu, az zuma. mari ri."
Ah... Hmm. That's a very good question.
Well, from what I know, it's due to Pokemon like Slowpoke. We can't call Galarian Slowpoke 'Psychic Slowpoke' because, well, normal Slowpoke are ALSO Psychic type! It's just that Galarian Slowpoke lost their Water typing.
"Coa! Coal coal!"
Oh? Well, perfect timing, another great example.
Red-Striped Basculin and Blue-Striped Basculin hatched from the eggs!
We can't exactly call these two by their typing. They're the same Pokemon, but they behave differently. So we call them 'Red-Stripe' and 'Blue-stripe'. There's also the White-Stripe from Hisui, which I have available to study compared to these two.
I think, mostly, us humans use where they live instead of their typing so that it's easier to identify where they originated, and it helps in our studies on how these Pokemon change their typing like this.

(@ask-professor-cedar-pmd) Cedar: "I've never met a Zoroark before, let alone the Hisuian variety!" the Sneasel said, scribbling into a notepad. "Tell me, how difficult was it to create an illusion of a human?"
"Most Zoroark tend to focus on scaring the shit out of humans and other Pokemon? So I had to practice, a lot. Pretty sure I gave at least a few of the tribe's children heart attacks with the half-human illusion abominations I conjured up trying to perfect it."
It seemed like a few people are giving her weird glances. With how different their fashion is, Fuku thought they'd care a lot more but she guessed not.

PokeAsk Writer’s Week Tuesday: @ask-team-searchlights
A mild delay but posting never the less! With mod Bench! Bench has been in the community since June 2021, which isn’t a long time but he has certainly made their place in this community! Bench is by far one one of the most active pokeask members I see around. Always sending asks to others for in character asks and for munday Bench’s writing style for their blogs appears to be more RolePlay based, with simpler answers and saves the longer pieces for plot or more in depth character development scenes Although I would say Bench’s most “known community character” would be Gen the Oshawott. But I drew Burhalla because I rarely see him get art. So to anyone who goes “but Gen-” no I appreciate the underappreciated fkkfkf ANYWAYS. If you would like to check out more of Bench’s work, here are some other blogs! - @ask-world-savers-council - @ask-professor-cedar-pmd
Thank you to Bench for being part of the PokeAsk Community and for doing all that you do!

(@ask-professor-cedar-pmd) Thievul: Greetings. I am a Thievul from another world, and I have been highly curious of your kind and world for quite some time. Might I ask, what kinds of technologies do you have for Pokemon in your world?
...You know, I've seen stranger things than a Thievul able to use a computer.
Aha, anyways. Hello there! I suppose being from another world shouldn't be so surprising- what, with those Ultra Beasts that brought up a ton of fanfare in Alola a while back. Though I can't say I've met a Pokemon who is also a professor! Intriguing.
That's a pretty broad question! What kind of technologies are you meaning? We have everything from devices Pokemon can use to communicate, to prosthetics, to transportation built specifically with Pokemon in mind. Not to mention technology to assist with battling, to connect Pokemon's power to their trainer, technology specifically designed to help Pokemon with certain jobs that require a boost. Really, you name it, we've got it as far as I know.
Did you have something specific in mind? If you're looking for a specific kind of technology, I'd be happy to rattle on about what we have available :)

(@ask-professor-cedar-pmd) Hello! In my research, I have come upon across a Thievul interested in my work! Though they have a scar across one of their eyes, should I be concerned for them? I admittedly haven't studied Pokemon biology as much as I probably should have. Their behavior and how they interacted always interested me more.
Doctor Elias: "Its fair to be concerned, I would monitor for pain while they're under your care, first thing I would do is observe, but really if its already scarred up then truthfully their body has taken care of it. Though if it looks like it is affecting its sight then its best to bring your friend to a medical professional nearest to you, for now it seems like its more of a case of you being chosen and now must concern with their care-"
Professor Kryspyn: "Oh! I must add. The one thing of concern is watching your plate! *Laughs* Thievul's are magnificently intelligent, really when they take in interest in your work, just keep in mind they tend to watch your every move and.... ehhhhh *Chuckles nervously* well they like to snatch things, seriously I have had wild Thievuls snatch many of my camping rations. Though they do make great trickster companions, Fanalia has yet to find her favorite book mark!"
Professor Fanalia: "I still haven't found it... that thieving little-"
Professor Kryspyn: "-GAH! I hope that answers your question @ask-professor-cedar-pmd!"

(@ask-professor-cedar-pmd) HI RANGER RAI I NEED ADVICE ON HOW TO ESCAPE FROM AN ANGRY KECLEON
Hmmm. Well if it's chasing you as we speak, I'd recommend just heading to a more crowded area, or places with more colors, they might get overwhelmed and decide to leave.
If you have any spicy berries on you, try to toss it to them, pokemon with higher senses of taste might be a bit more sensitive to strong tastes, so spice can discombobulate them a bit to help you get away.
Kecleon are normal types so they don't have a lot of type advantages battle wise so you might be able to scare them off with a good Rock Smash.
However if it's angry, perhaps consider that it could be trying to protect a nest or something important, so keep an eye out and try to move away from that areas.
Let me know how that goes.

(@ask-professor-cedar-pmd) I've heard you're visiting a village of Pokemon! To compare notes, how advanced is their civilization?
Cari hasn't been able to log in (still travelling and unfortunately wifi on the designated stopping points isn't amazing)). But I do have access to their notes on the village. One of them stated, quote: "Their village is rudimentary but functional. Blissey, the defacto leader, designates pokemon to hunt and gather. Any bickering is also dealt with by this blissey. Communal childcare is also observed within the group. This group is relatively small, composed of roughly 75 to 100 members. Pokemon who use tools are observed doing so and often use this to help others. More human-like pokemon are observed mainly helping with aspects others may struggle with (i.e no opposable thumbs), however all pokemon are viewed as equal within the group."

(@ask-professor-cedar-pmd) Thievul: Greetings. I am a Thievul from another world, and I am very curious about humans and your world. If you do not mind me asking, how does your rehabilitation center operate?
Erin- We operate on a professional basis, making sure any Pokemon that comes through our doors gets the best treatment available. All Pokemon deserve the best and we will deliver that to the absolute best of our abilities.

(@ask-professor-cedar-pmd) Cedar: Hello, Professor Palmetto! I'm Cedar, a Pokemon Professor in training, and I've made the discovery of a lifetime! A world filled with nothing but Pokemon, and I'm able to understand them due to being a Pokemon myself while I'm here! I heard you specialize in Pokemon spirituality, and I'm wondering if you'd like me to share with you my notes on what spirituality they have here?
A world filled with nothing but Pokemon? I'd certainly be interested in hearing about their practices and beliefs, if you do have notes on such.
As a bit of a ghost-type specialist myself, I'd also be interested in how pokemon which often utilize humans for parasitic relationships, like Palossand, fair in that world. Do they prey solely on other pokemon? How does that affect the dynamics between those types and others? Are these pokemon the stuff of folkloric legend, something like a vampire or cryptid with associated superstitions, or are they well known and treated just as any other pokemon in the public zeitgeist? Or something in-between?

(@ask-professor-cedar-pmd) Thievul: Greetings. I am a Thievul from another world, and I am fascinated by your kind, and have dedicated my life to researching humans and their world. What do you do to "conserve" Pokemon?
...Welp, not the strangest ask I’ve ever gotten.
So, basically, Pokémon conservation involves protecting wild Pokémon and their habitats in order to help ensure that they stay healthy and thriving for as long as possible.
There are tons of ways people can be involved in PokéConservation, but what I do specifically is something called field research, which involves going out into the wild and collecting data on the nearby wildlife. From there, the collected data (which includes information on things like population dynamics, how the species being observed is affected by other nearby species, and the species’ general behaviour) gets analyzed and reported, and is eventually used to advise ongoing conservation efforts on local, regional, and even worldwide levels.
Did that answer your question? I hope that answered your question. Feel free to send a follow-up if it didn’t.

(@ask-professor-cedar-pmd) Cedar: "Hello!" the Sneasel said, pulling out a notepad. "Could you tell me what it's like being a hybrid?"
@ask-professor-cedar-pmd
Well, it is an intriguing experience. It's like I carry her soul within me. I often hear her voice; she talks to me....guiding me. You can say I gained more than just powers from our union.

(@ask-professor-cedar-pmd): "Greetings!" the Sneasel said, putting his claws to his goggles. "Might I inquire what this 'bounty' is about? Do criminals exist here?"
“Oh, well it’s quite simple. See, a bounty is a sum of money placed on a Pokemon based on crimes and bad deeds they have done in the past. Dragan here has a bounty of about.... I believe thirty thousand.”
“Yeah. And it’s turned me into one of these bounty hunting dogs. I’m above this, I don’t know why I’m bothering with it.”

(@ask-professor-cedar-pmd) Holding a pen and paper in his claws, Cedar approached the Eevee. "I heard that you can become any evolution of Eevee at will!" the professor-in-training said. "Can you show me?"
Cyrus
He looked surprised as Cedar was approaching him. But seeing that lab coat and his interest in his powers made him react quite scared at first.
"W-what?! It's one of y-you?! Wait... Wait... Phew, you're not a human."
He takes some deep breaths of relief.
"But how did you hear... Am I talking to much about it...? "
He then looks a bit unsure on how to answer cedars questions but eventually trusts him.
"Well, I can try... I can't control my powers that well. Some of my eeveelution happen at random and I'm still looking for a way to control it. Just... Let me try..."
And so he focused evolving a few times to show Cedar, like he asked, but after a few forms, Cyrus was out of breath.
"Phew... Let me... Have a break..."
He evolved back and sits down.
"Hope that was good enough for now.

(@ask-professor-cedar-pmd) Hello! I've heard you take care of dragon-types! Are there any that prey upon Sneasel? Specifically, do Garchomps prey upon them? Just making sure.
I don’t think so particularly, for the most part they wouldn’t be worth the effort given they’re much smaller and not very meaty, this coupled with the fact that it’s ice type , which they have a four times weakness too, means that they wouldn’t receive enough food versus the effort to acquire it. they may prey on Sneasel if they’re starving and that’s the only option but otherwise they wouldn’t bother.
This applies basically to all the other dragon type Pokémon, very few have a favorable matchup and those don’t generally live anywhere where sneasel do
