Two of my old kitties~ The dark tabby is Marbel, and I love showing people this pic of her because my god that cat was so tiny. so baby. the last time she was mistaken for a kitten I had to be like "Don't let her fool you, that's an old lady." She was 15 or 16 at the time. I think she's 11 in this pic.

And my orange girlie~ Yellow was a menace to society but dear god that cat loved me in the pure unadulterated way only animals can. When I went bald during chemo, so did she, i stg (can you tell she had a favorite spot?)

Oh my God. Your cats are so precious, I love them. That little orange baby knows the comfiest place in the world is on the lap of your very favorite person! But, it's the way they're trying to make air biscuits in that last picture for me that makes me smile.

They've got a lot of good vibes here. Whereas, I can tell that Marbel was probably sassy for her size. I could be wrong, but it'd be funny to see a little kitty sassing people with a look if they didn't address her as ma'am.

I absolutely despise making posts like these, I just turned 35 years old and have little room in my life for online drama, but this has gotten to the point where folks' actual safety has become a legit concern of mine, so I don't think I can let this go without saying something.

At this point, for everyone in the SMRPG sub-fandom, or any other fandoms, honestly, it's probably a safe bet to block Yoylecake420 wherever you see them.

I don't have time for details or screenshots, I'll just summarize my personal experience with them.

At first, I got plenty of asks from them about their hyperfixations here on tumblr. I'm busy as hell, so most of them got lost in my inbox, and the ones I saw I had little time to entertain with an answer.

Then, they joined my Discord about a month ago, where they were active in sharing their art and stuff. Then me and the mods caught wind of them sending unsolicited DMs and friend requests to various members of the server, often with uncomfortable topics. We gave them a fair warning to stop. They did not.

This repeated behavior ended in a ban from the server. During this, they were also repeatedly making a mockery of my webcomic's OCs by making uncomfortable art/captions and submitting the characters to Kiss-Marry-Kill-style blogs despite me asking them not to, so I blocked them on Discord, Tumblr, deviantArt, and Art Fight. I know this is small potatoes compared to harassing people, but it's important context for the following.

A day after the ban from my server, they joined up the Spiderforest server, knowing I'm a part of that webcomic community. I was even warned by the mods, who were aware of Yoyle's behavior as they had already been messaging the SF tumblr about my comic.

A week later, they joined ComicFury, and replied to me on the forum, complimenting my work. Like nothing had ever happened. Like I didn't have them blocked everywhere else. Like they hadn't fully disrespected me, my work, and my community.

I directly messaged them telling them to leave me alone. Their response was a slight apology, but also admitting to being obsessed with my work, having a hard time moving on, and, ultimately, wanting the attention.

So. There it is. It pains me, knowing this is giving them the attention they want, but I'm too fucking old for games like that and the need for me to look out for everyone's safety is more important.

Yoyle is a person who does not care about others' personal boundaries. If you ignore them, they persist. If you tell them to stop, they do for a day or two, and then persist again. And if you block them, they'll evade it and stalk you to somewhere else on the internet.

Of course, it's not my place to tell anyone how to interact with others, but I am suggesting a pre-emptive block if you make, at the very least, Geno fanart, and aren't interested in being harassed across multiple platforms and having your boundaries stomped on. I do not suggest interacting with them, as they are the embodiment of "give them an inch and they'll take a mile."

Hey do you have any tips for making my garden very low maintenance but still productive. I have a large raised bed and a field with very good soil quality but I just don't have the energy to garden all the time. They both get lots of sun.

These tips are mostly focused on reducing the maintenance required in weeding and watering, which are often the two biggest things that gardeners end up doing to maintain gardens. These tips are also fairly general. As always, if you have more specific questions, please feel free to send in another ask with more details!

Mulch is my go-to method to reduce weeding and watering. Putting mulch around your plants helps keep water from evaporating out of the soil and makes it a lot harder for weeds to grow. This doesn't have to be fancy expensive mulch either - lawn clippings or wet newspaper work just fine (and I would argue better than traditional wood chip mulch).

Soaker hoses are a low-effort way to water, especially if your garden is large. Depending on your setup, watering the garden could be as simple as turning on a spigot.

The Ruth Stout method is an entire gardening method that combines mulching and no-dig techniques to grow plants with minimal effort. An overview here.

Grow native plants. They're already adapted to the growing conditions of your area and tend to grow well with little human input. If you're in the US, your local county extension office can help you pick options and possibly source seeds.

Similar to the last point, choose hardy, low-maintenance plants. I'm using vegetable examples here since that's most of what I grow personally: Beans, peppers, greens like lettuce and spinach, summer squashes like zucchini, and many herbs tend to grow perfectly fine if you throw the seeds at dirt and water them occasionally. Potatoes, carrots, onions, and tomatoes either require special soil preparation or tend to need more maintenance and care while growing to deal with pests or disease. Find the overlap between what grows well in your climate and growing season and what doesn't require a lot of maintenance or preparation.

Look into permaculture gardening principles. A running permaculture garden should be fairly low-maintenance, but it can take a lot of energy and effort to get it going, which may not be the best fit for what you need. However, there are a lot of overlapping concepts in permaculture. You may find things you can implement in your garden to reduce how much energy you have to put into it without going full permaculture. One intro here, another here; I'm also a huge fan of Heather Jo Flores and Food Not Lawns as resources.

i havent played much of dac0da yet, just met sload baby boi (?)  (fangirled over them), helped yngol (fangirled over him) and then watch him teleport and die bc my game glitched. so..............i restarted the whole skyrim!! currently lvl 16, stealing potatoes from thalmor ambassy  :^) 

it's already obvious that dac0da is a gem tho - the use of vanilla models, design of locations, lore implications behind characters, vibe in general - i honestly don't know a thing that a player can ask for from a mod that vicn havent' nailed, (except headcanon stuff ofc)!

looking forward to meet mannimarco too! i remember wanting more friendly/equal-in-power faces in the trilogy, and in vigilant he was definitely my ldb's favourite person to hang out with. hopefully we won't have to kill him...............

Hey! I was just wondering if, in your latest Trektober story about body mods/tattoos, you had particular designs in mind for each of the characters (I think it was Miles, Kira, Jadzia, Julian, and Sisko mentioned offscreen?)

Oooh GREAT question! I'm not totally sure, but some thoughts:

Miles said he got one along with his fellow non-commissioned officers during the border wars. I don't think it's something as obvious as the starfleet delta, and I don't think individual companies/troops/crews/whatever have their own symbols, but it has to be something uniting and referential to their shared experiences. A reference to an inside joke, something they all saw, a place they all went? A memorial tattoo for one of their own who didn't make it? Do they think it's a fun joke but also kind of a point of pride to get an old school navy tattoo, like an anchor?

Kira's are described as small, scattered, and done by hand in the underground. I was thinking about stick and poke tattoos of the kind people give each other in college dorms. They often have a sketchy, scratchy sort of vibe to them. I also think there would be a lot of curves and circular shapes, to honor the orbs and be in alignment with what we see of Bajoran architecture, even though circles are hard to do well with stick and pokes. And, in the tradition of punk diy tattooing, they don't have to have really deep complex meaning- like maybe there's a raindrop because they were stuck in a cave in the rain and that was what was on their minds, for example. A leaf that looked neat.

Jadzia's I mentioned was some kind of traditional joining tattoo. For some reason I'm thinking about mandalas, something geometric and very intricate, with lots of layers and depth. Maybe the symbiont themselves each have an individual tattoo, and it gets expanded on in each life? Maybe the number of lives or names of past hosts is incorporated somehow? I also think Jadzia learns about Kira's and then asks Kira to give her one in that style, and maybe she also gives Kira one too, so not all Kira's tattoos are from the resistance but she can continue this old tradition in her new life, and not all Jadzia's are tied to her past lives either?

Julian kind of writes his off in the ficlet as childish rebellion but obviously we as the audience know that his desire to reclaim his bodily autonomy separate from his parents is much more than just teen angst. For sure I think he has an IDIC tattoo. He also, sadly, seems like the type to get one in another language that you were told means 'strength' but actually means 'potato,' or something like that. (I do not think the existence of the universal translator stops this kind of problem.) At one point I wrote a trektober ficlet where he has a phoenix on his back, which I think could be very meaningful, but he wouldn't get it until later seasons. Maybe something medical too. Oh, like maybe one of those tattoos that's designed to look like the muscle or bone that would be beneath the skin? Only somewhere you can cover it up in case that squicks out your patients. (God, maybe one of those tattoos designed to look like the skin has been peeled away and there's gears and mechanical stuff underneath. Telling on himself as publicly as he can about what he is.)

Sisko was mentioned as having gotten one as a cadet to impress Jennifer. I think this would be very much an on-trend tattoo, not about personal meaning to him but about whatever was popular for young adults to get tattooed on Earth that year. We also know from canon that he's very proud of his collection of African art, so maybe as a slightly older adult he gets tattoos inspired by his favorite pieces. I don't know the specific nationalities or cultures his collection comes from, but there are many with meaningful tattooing traditions. I also wonder if he's the kind of person to get Jake's name and birthday, or something other commemorative tat, after Jake is born. (Some people have things like a flower for each of their kids. I don't think that's his exact vibe, but something Jake-related.) And I think he has a tattoo artist in New Orleans that he's loyal to and that's the only place he'll get his done.
