Alright, let's tackle the "Jamil and children" subject.

You were close, Anon 1, but it's actually a parrot (the pet parrot he's wished to have since his highschool days haha. He's talking about it in a vignette or two).

And for Anon 2, I actually think Jamil really likes kids. He doesn't have a problem with the Asim kids at all, his only problem has always been that he had to keep himself in check not to do better than Kalim. Without the same constraints, I can't imagine him being adverse to Kalim's siblings. Sure they would be a hassle the days he was overworked, but otherwise I like to imagine he acts as much as a big brother to them as to Najma.

Of the N2 squad, I believe he would be the one who wouldn't mind about having more children. He can handle them. He loves them. But I doubt Vil and Leona would want too many (or let's say Leona could if he ever lets go of his bad childhood memories and stops being scared oh his children ending up like him and Falena, but that's a discussion for another time.)

And to finish, I did juggle with the idea of bringing in a third kid when I made Koffi and Urcon, but I decided against it in the end. It was either two or a little army in my mind (and I don't have the strength to design a little army of kids rn), so I decided on Twst Kovu since Scar is canonically the only one who had a child in the movies (unless I'm mistaken), and then Twst Kronk since he fits all three of the N2 squad.

Leona > cheater, manipulative, brawler, has wits but rarely does anything with it, very strong pack mentality so she will aggressively take care of anybody who is younger than her

Vil > sore loser, haughty, refuses to be treated lesser than what she's worth, agressive caretaker

Jamil > manipulative, ADHD, loves dancing, short fuse

Urcon's common traits with his parents:

Leona > brawler, chill but should not be roused, loves meat

Vil > passion for poison and fashion, almost obsessive with his passions, can be very overbearing

Jamil > passion for cooking, very curious, overbearing mother-like

Geralt knows the marriage is necessary to ratify the treaty, but that doesn’t mean he has to be happy about it.

It’s not that he’s against marriage in general or has anything against his new husband—Julian seems lovely. And that’s the real issue isn’t it? This lovely man has been pressured into a marriage with a witcher. Even though Geralt was accepted as a warlord, people still considered witchers more beast than man.

His new husband is probably terrified or disgusted with him.

At the very least, Geralt knows the other man is nervous. He can smell it in his scent, hear it in his heartbeat.

When they enter the wedding suite, Geralt says, “I’ll sleep on the floor.”

“Pardon?”

“We don’t have to do anything. I’ll sleep on the floor.”

Out of all possible reactions to his offer, Geralt hadn’t expected anger.

Julian seethes, saying, “Are you FUCKING kidding me?!? Do you know how fucking long it took to get into these clothes? How long it took them to paint my face? It takes HOURS to look this divine, and do I get any appreciation? No! The least you could do is tell me I’m pretty and fuck me like you mean it!”

Geralt blinked, completely stunned. He stared at Julian—no, Jaskier—as the man planted his hands on his hips and glared at him with enough fire to melt silver. For a long, awkward moment, Geralt could only process one thing: Jaskier did look divine.

His doublet, an elaborate creation in deep blue and gold hues, shimmered in the candlelight. His makeup—a touch of gold on his eyelids and the faintest hint of rouge on his cheeks—made him seem otherworldly, like some naughty fey prince. And his lips, painted the colour of ripe cherries, were currently pursed in absolute fury.

“You—” Geralt started, then faltered. His voice sounded rougher than he intended, so he cleared his throat. “You look—very nice?”

Jaskier groaned and threw his head back like a man the universe had deeply wronged. “Very nice? Very nice?! I didn’t spend all afternoon enduring the indignities of corsetry and the horrors of powder puff brushes to be called very nice.”

“I—uh—apologize?” Geralt mumbled

“Oh, don’t apologize, you big lummox!” Jaskier snapped, stepping closer and pointing an accusatory finger at Geralt’s chest. “I don’t want your apologies. I want your appreciation. I want you to look at me and see more than just the treaty we signed this morning. I want you to see me, the absolute vision of beauty that I am, and understand that I deserve at least a modicum of effort!”

Geralt blinked again, utterly lost. “I don’t… know what to say.”

Jaskier sighed dramatically and threw himself onto the edge of the bed, arms splayed wide. “Say, ‘Julian, you are the most enchanting creature I have ever seen in my long, miserable life.’ Say, ‘Julian, your beauty eclipses the stars.’ Say, ‘Julian, I would crawl through fire just to kiss your perfect lips.’ Is that so hard?”

If it’s ok for me to ask, since you got more of an eye for art, I got a question regarding Rachel’s art on Lore Olympus. Now there’s no doubt that it got worse over time but for me, I couldn’t pinpoint why. Until one day when I’m in line in a Barnes & Noble’s, that I spotted the licensed bookmark. I took a closer look to it and took note of their eyes. And I remembered that the older art had colored pupils, not all the time but still. While the recents have solid black ones. Am I going crazy? 😅

Not going crazy at all, back when LO was still updating, there was a panel of Hera where her eyes were colored and we all went nuts for it because it was the first time in AGES she had done that (and we had been bitching about it for months prior LOL)

But yeah, throughout S2 and S3, we really saw a loss in eye color, even in the close up scenes that would normally have them were missing the color that had been present before and it gave everyone the thousand yard stare look 😭

Compared to S1, which didn't always have the colored irises present, but when they were, it really added to LO's visual appeal. Same goes for the lighting, sometimes she would add these little white highlights / sparkles to push the emotional storytelling through the eyes, but a lot of that was really lost in S2 onwards when the art started to take a nosedive :/

Whenever Jaskier gets his hands in Geralt’s hair—be it roughly or softly—the witcher goes boneless.

This amuses Jaskier at times, and he finds the quirk VERY cute. But, he worries about what would happen if someone grabbed Geralt’s hair during a battle.

When just that scenario happens, Jaskier’s heart nearly stops in his chest!

However, Geralt doesn’t go boneless. He breaks the wrist of the hand in his hair and then stabs the guy.

That’s when Jaskier realizes it may have less to do with the hair and more to do with who’s grabbing it.

Which is awfully flattering!

It was late, the night cloaked in darkness, save for the crackling campfire burning brightly, its glow rivaling the stars above. Jaskier lay close to Geralt, his fingers threading gently through the witcher’s silver hair.

“You enjoy this, don’t you?” Jaskier said with a knowing smile.

Geralt let out a low, contented murmur. “You’re soft. It’s… nice.”

“Why, thank you. I do put a lot of effort into keeping them that way,” Jaskier teased with a soft laugh, his eyes twinkling.

Geralt’s lips curved faintly, his gaze warm. “Not your hands. Well, yes, they’re… nice,” he admitted awkwardly before sitting up, searching for the right words. “But you—you’re soft. Like something... good. Something comforting.”

Writing Character Accents in Fiction

Hey there, thanks for the question! I speak English as a second language; most English speakers I encounter aren’t native (yes, including fictional people); thus, this is a concern I’ve explored personally when I write. 

I think the core principle regarding accent writing is this: it shouldn’t be distracting. 

For the same reasons why Stephen King prescribes the basic dialogue tag “said” rather than fancier alternatives like “whispered”, “shouted” or “screeched”, dialogue must be first and foremost easy to read. It must flow like a real conversation – the pace and tone are a lot more important than how specific words are being pronounced by the character. 

Focus on what effect the accent has:

Using adjectives to describe their voice in general. Different types of English (American, British, Australian, etc.) will give off a different vibe, also partly dependent on how your character speaks in general:

Lilting: Having a smooth rise and falling quality; sing-song like. Welsh accent is often described as singing. 

Posh: from a high social class. This is the term generally used to describe the upper-class British accent.

Nasal: this happens when the sound goes through somebody’s nose when they’re speaking. North American accents are more nasal than, say, British pronunciations. 

Brash: harsh, loud, indicative of sounding a little rude. 

Slur: speaking indistinctly; words merging into one another.

Using metaphors.

Her voice was cotton and fluffy clouds. 

When he spoke, the ‘r’s scratched the insides of his throat. 

Mentioning their accent with a brief example(s). 

“Would you like to drink some wine?” she said, though her Indian accent gave extra vibration to her ‘w’s and ‘r’s, making the words sound more like ‘vould you like to drrrink some vine’.

“I want some chocolate.” His syllables were choppy and ‘l’s rather flat, saying ‘cho-ko-lit’. 

Some Tips:

Don’t phonically spell out everything. Perhaps give a few examples in the beginning, but stick to standard English spellings. 

Pay attention to word choice, slang, and colloquialisms. 

An Australian person would say “tram”, not “trolley; “runners” instead of “sneakers”

A Canadian may refer to a “fire hall” – what Americans call a firehouse or fire station

If your character comes from a non-Enligsh background:

Use vocabulary from other languages. 

“What time was the exam, ah? Two o’clock? Jiayou!” → putting “ah” or “la” at the end of sentences + Jiayou means “break a leg” in Singlish. 

“I can’t believe that 4-year-olds have their own SNS accounts now.” → “SNS” is short for “social networking service”, a term used to refer to social media in Korea. This would a subtle difference – even though it isn’t technically Korean at all!

Transpose grammar from different languages. 

For example, in French, plural nouns take plural adjectives (whereas in English, you would speak of ‘white cars’, not ‘whites cars’).
