Bdubs being a caretaker/looking after Impulse. Like I love it, I do, but I rarely see fics where it is the other way around like Impulse looking after a sick Bdubs or something. Also Bdubs being the flirt, Impulse would absolutely try to find a way to fluster Bdubs <3

What made you ship it?

Your posts lol. No, but seriously! I watched the donghua, then I read a ton of fics ( mostly Xicheng fics lol, being jiang cheng most popular ship on ao3) and then I read the novel, so I never even thought about them as a thing. Then, jc brainrot made me install Tumblr and I saw one of your gifset! I didn't quite ship them back then, but the more I thought about it, the more I could see the appeal! So, now, is one my top three ship! Also, this art lives rent free in my head. Idk why, I just like it!

What are your favorite things about the ship?

The families feud plus the noncon of it all lol. I like how both of them are complicit in each other's loved ones deaths! Wen Qing looked the other way while the jiang were massacred, jiang cheng did the same (if not worse, if you think that he actively participated in the wen remnants killing!)

I like thinking about them struggling so much to connect, because it's my favorite kind of relationship and because I think it works quite well with them?? Out of the other characters, imo, they could understand each other as no one else!

Both are pragmatic leaders, put in dire situations from almost the first time we encounter them. Both can read a room and understand where the wind is blowing... So, I think, they will look at each other, pondering the other's choices and think... 'yeah, I'll have done that too' (thanks cql for validating me!). So, their mutual understanding, plus their compassion (wen qing) and ability to get over something for loved ones sake (jiang cheng), create an interesting dynamic!

Also. She rearranged his guts. He's her greatest creation! People thought wen qing was a crazy bitch for theorizing a golden core's transfer (while clutching in fear their stomach so hard). And she managed it! She proved them wrong!!! Wen Qing should wake up every day looking at the face of the man she reinvented. I don't make the rules.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

Mmm, I think my unpopular (???) opinion is about how they work together. Wen Qing is kinda momming her ill softhearted brother (cql!wq more, but the novel hints at it too imo), she works for years under her megalomaniac uncle and then, girl has to take care of her family (plus an alcoholic wei wuxian). Let her rest! Let someone take care of her!!!

And tbh, jiang cheng's problem isn't that he has too much responsibility (like, yeah, it's a problem lol. But imo, taking care of his sect it's jiang cheng's way to show love), his problem is that no one (wei wuxian) really let him take care of them! Let him have someone to pamper with his embarrassing devotion!

Vivia for the ask game?

Vivia ship ranking time! It's obvious which ship is my number one, but I've been wanting to share my opinion on other ships with Vivia for a long time hehe

@evangelistofmurder also asked me the same question about Vivia, so I'm going to tag you so you can see the answer (hope you don't mind being tagged)

Viviakou: 10/10. I never thought I would be so obsessed with the ship. I know there are almost no canon ships in the game, but I can clearly see that Vivia has feelings for his Chief, and Yakou is very caring towards Vivia, and you won't convince me otherwise.

All of their interactions in canon touch my soul. They break my heart and heal it at the same time. I could really say a lot about how I love their dynamics and how much they mean to me, but I need to talk about other ships too haha

Kokolight: 7/10. I think they're cute. It's not really my type, but I can see why people like this ship and why people ship them. At first, their height difference scared me, not attracted me, but then, I think, I began to take it calmly

Twimare: 6/10: I've seen that there are some people who ship them. But honestly, other than the fact that they're have a cool vibe together and they're both very chill... I don't see any other reason to ship them. But they still look cool together

Shinigami × Vivia: 2/10. To be honest, I don't see them as a couple at all. There were funny interactions between them in the Mystery Labyrinth, and the theme of "the Death itself and the man who is always near death" sounds interesting. But I don't see any chemistry between them

Vivia × Worried man: 7/10. Isn't it cute that Vivia has a secret admirer who is canonically in love with him? We know nothing about Worried man, and Vivia probably wouldn't care about him anyway. But the idea itself, and ideas about what could come out of this are really interesting

Vivia × Yakou × Amaterasu researcher: 8/10. Please, hear me out! I really think that if Yakou's wife were alive, they three could have started a relationship together. I have a whole idea of ​​how that could happen and I think they would have a really great dynamic. I think the relationship between Amaterasu researcher and Vivia would be similar to the relationship between Vivia and Yakou

Vivia and Amaterasu researcher would love Yakou incredibly, and Yakou and Amaterasu researcher would always show Vivia that he is loved

if dorian didn't show up, do you think louis would have shot minnie?

I do. I know some people think either he wouldn't have or he would've missed so that's why the writers had him shoot Dorian instead, but mmmmmm no, I don't personally think so. I like to think that if he had taken the shot, his shaky hands would've caused him to shoot her fatally.

Mostly because I'm already so normal about the fact that of the Ericson crew, Marlon and Louis are the only ones with a body count. Well, that we know of, but shown to us in the game, at least. Plus, we know it's Louis' first kill.

Like yeah, Clementine and AJ become part of the crew and they have bigger body counts, and if we're counting indirect kills caused by actions, then Tenn has a count... and I guess everyone has blood on their hands for blowing up the boat... but I'm talking about killed directly with a weapon like....... I lied, I'm not normal about that at all, Louis and Marlon are the ones who have killed someone in Louis' route. I'm also not normal about the fact that Louis kills Dorian and then even as he's clearly in shock, he tries to go with Clementine to get AJ, and then later on when they talk about it, he says it feels like bile but not quite and he's glad he has it in him to do it.... listen, listen, listen... I'm obsessed with that.

Anyway, so if Louis shot Minerva, I think he would've accidentally killed her and can you imagine? He's already enough of a mess after killing the woman who pinned him down and tried to cut his finger off [or succeeded] but he knew Minerva, they were friends before the twins were taken. Even Violet couldn't kill her even though that would've been the smarter thing to do, and we know thanks to meta knowledge that killing her would've saved lives, but Violet couldn't, and I don't think Louis would intentionally either.

Speaking of Violet, if Louis killed Minerva, I hate to think about what that would've done to Vi. I think she might've actually left at that point, like what was planned before it got changed to her being burned. I don't think she would've attacked Louis over it, though, like yeah she attacked Clementine in the cell but Louis? I don't know, but I don't think so just because it's Louis and he'd be a mess about it anyway.

Though if he did kill her, it would be a neat parallel to draw... y'know, because Louis forgave AJ for killing Marlon even though he was pissed and heartbroken, and Violet was annoyed with him the entire time... but could she ever forgive Louis for killing Minerva? Y'know? We already have a similar parallel with AJ shooting Tenn, but still.

If Clementine killed Minerva in that moment, though, then I could see Violet attacking her since in her eyes, Clem proved her right.

So yeah, I get why they added the Dorian kill to his route. It adds another compelling element to Louis as a character, but we also need Minerva alive for episode 4; Louis can't kill her, he can't miss, and he's not going to stay with her because we need Violet to stay on the boat and him to be on shore for all routes.

I stayed away from the ship up until a few years ago because of the whole fandom stigma around it, but one day I said "fuck it, this ship is cute" and started to openly ship it, and my love for the ship only grew since 😊

also, even though I know their Prime characterizations aren't their canon characterizations, I do like Sonadow Prime as its own thing. It was pretty much the only thing I liked about Prime lol 😅

I'm not SUPER passionate about most ships with Amy, but Shadamy probably has to be my favorite Amy ship. It's very cute, and I much prefer the dynamic to s0namy. They're both passionate in their own ways. Also, Amy can help Shadow to open up while Shadow can help Amy to be more grounded. 💖🖤

I'm not a fan of the fanfiction tropes when Shadow is written to only like Amy because she reminds him of Maria, or when Sonic is written to be a jealous asshole to make Shadow look better. But there are alot of great shadamy fics and ways of writing shadamy that don't fall into those tropes.

This is entirely a situation where if I weren't interacting with the fandom I would still happily be shipping this leg of the 3zun disaster polycule. But I'm primarily a Nie Bros stan blog and like NHS every time I see a bad Da-ge take I have the urge to start biting and most of the people I've blocked for having bad NMJ takes are Xiyao mains who insist that he Wasn't Important and Actively Destructive to the UWU of Xiyao who Understand Each Other Perfectly and Ne'er Would've Had Issues if the BIG MEAN ASSHOLE didn't exist, so now I'm just like 'well I can't exactly say I ship this when I've blocked like 50% of the other people who ship it can I?'

What would have made you like it?

Not having a tumblr account. <- sad but true, my goodfeels about Xiyao as a ship have become a casualty to the hellsite.

Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?

I actually really adore their dynamic. I think they were deeply important to each other, and fundamentally at odds because of social status and life outlook differences in much the same way all legs of the 3zun tripod were and there's something really lovely about that tragedy that defies easy solutions and I'd really love to write about this in more depth someday!

What made you ship it?

Bdubs + ZIT(S): It honestly started as a joke cus like Impdubs and Tangdubs are two of my main ships while I have a soft spot for Zedubs and Skizz/Bdubs is just a funny idea.

Poly ZITS: I'm not gonna lie when I say I'm weak for queerplatonic polycules and that sort of stuff.

What are your favorite things about the ship?

All about the dynamic, both with individual pairings and them all together. They just kinda silly little guys, kinda gay silly little guys. It's in the way I can easily describe it other than *points* LOOK AT THE THEM!

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

Bdubs + ZITS is a unique only me kinda pairing so I don't think I have unpopular opinions besides the fact I ship it?

Poly ZITS: This is me with my acearo Zed headcanon mainly, but that they're all romantic with one another? Also the Impulse and Skizz being like siblings, but not entirely with that dynamic. Tango is the only one that is romantic in anyway and it's mainly just Skizz and sometimes Impulse, Zed's got several queerplatonic partners (+ he might be dating a few others, but that's a ship for another day)

16. what’s their favourite “domestic bliss” moment? do they cook/clean together? do they like to go out shopping together?

well, since one of them has an ego the size of jupiter and thinks he alone knows how to do everything correctly, and the other one has a martyr complex, i think we all know that voldemort assumes responsibility for all the domestic labour in that house.

do i think he's great at it? no. my preferred headcanon is that voldemort - much to the sorrow of many of the posher death eaters - has somewhat plebeian tastes in food etc.

and post-war harry's really into experimental cuisine, but voldemort's cooking has a touch of the ration book about it. harry suffers through, since he thinks that brutalising vegetables is better than brutalising people. a far better legilimens than harry is an occlumens, voldemort is well aware of this. he thinks it's funny to keep trying to push harry over the edge with overboiled potatoes.

he may also think it's a little bit sweet. after all, he's always been fond of devotion.

i had a really long convo with my friends about this but it really seriously feels like ppl get rhys and fionas characterization switched up HARD. this is bc of the u choose the path thing but also a heavy hand in the misogyny and racism (and general way ppl tend to approach pandorans due to being effected by how jack talked about them . LOL) fiona is such a sweetheart whos working her hardest to protect the people she loves + imo shes the one who helped vaughn grow into someone who adores pandora as well. it makes me blow up. i have a few songs that have been making me go nuts about her . hai i got excited sorry

This has been talked about on my side a bit but I tooootally agree, Both of their characterization gets switched up BAD and it’s absolutely insane, both Fiona and Rhys are good people, but flawed. Flawed, but good people, and it gets constantly jumbled around in the fandom. I feel like a lot of people have a really hard time grasping that “choose ur own adventure” protags still have a core personality set, especially telltale. I always use Lee TWGD as an example, because sure you can portray him as either very very confrontational, or more soft spoken and sweet, but in the end of th edgy he still killed someone. In the end of the day he still ALWAYS cares about Clem. It’s not any different for those two idiots, they still have their respective arcs and the such.

I feel like Fiona gets a lot of shit specifically BECAUSE she’s snarky and she. speaks her mind. And god forbid a POC/Black coded woman do ANYTHING. Jack really messed up ppls views on Pandorans but the look into Sasha and Fi’s life is literally just more, HEY, they’re people!! Maybe don’t listen to the GENOCIDAAAAL [big arrows pointing to the word] MANIAC. It’s thrown right at your face. People take wtv the fuck Jack says way to seriously when he lies. So much. All the time. And I don’t get why no one takes it with a pile of salt constantly. When really she does just have a heart of gold, most of her being mean is literally just playful banter like hello. Sasha’s meaner than her by a mile but Fi still gets slaaandered for it. And even tho Sasha does have her really mean moments I will defend her to the grave with strangers bcus “hating her” without a valid reason gets veeerry racy really quick and as a black person it really does rub me the wrong way sometimes. So much mischaracterization everywhere. It’s a weird mix of a patriarchal, misogynistic, racist deal with EVERY character in The Group and I’m just… how do you manage to mischaracterize everybody from a game that’s all story.

And the point I made in a post somewhere about how Rhys is written differently than a LOT of men in borderlands and ppl have ran with it and decided hey this guy actually sucks. Or hey haha this guy can’t do anything. He’s completely out of his element on Pandora, of course he’s stumbling somewhat but bro is brave as hell for that shit. He’s a completely capable dude, yes he cares about Fiona and Sasha and Vaughn. Yes they care about him. I feel like people also get it twisted because of Fiona and Rhys in the intros, but people gotta remember that they’re acting like that because the game was episodic and we weren’t rlly allowed to know that they’re super buddy buddy. That’s one gripe I have w the game is that they made Fiona seem like she HATED his ass in some of the future settings in the beginning of episodes and people took it way too literally. Please I beg they’re besties,,, you’ve never boxed with a bestie before??? Either way it’s obvious that it’s blown out of proportion especially after Rhys’ whole arc concludes. You’re supposed to be like oooh he’s like that cause we couldn’t know. You look at Fi and you’re supposed to like daaamn she really cares about him/them they were all just split apart after extremely traumatic events. [I’m gonna stop here with this point cause it’s starting to be a run on but people do not talk enough about how traumatic both Helios’ crash, the wreck, and Gortys’ first fight was for all of them.]

I’ve talked extensively with a friend about this too but Tales had a looot of budget issues during its making cause of Telltale nuking itself, and the game was meant to have more time. ALL of them were!!! I always think about maybe if they all got more time they’d be treated this way less. But yknow,, whatever I guess.

AND THE VAUGHN THING UR SO CORRECT GOD. I think she really help him crawl out of his shell for a lack of a better term, both the sisters tbh I feel like they’re a very rare and cute friendship pairing and I need to see more of Sasha daring him to do shit like in the Chimera dome. They all care sooo deeply for each other and people even manage to miss that like god. One of Rhys’ core traits if you don’t make him abysmally evil is loyalty. LOYALTY. Fiona hasn’t had many, hell if any friends since tales started, She is SUCH a caring person of course she’s gonna ride or die for her friends. Like that one scene on Helios where Rhys can ask her not to leave, And she’s like “If I wanted to leave, I would’ve done it a looong time ago.” There’s so many points in the game I could,d bring up that show how great all of them are, Fiona, after knowing him for not too long at all, tries to convince Vaughn to be brave, and that he can survive Bossanova’s race. Yes, she had to do that so they wouldn’t die, but she went out of her way to say it in a way that was reassuring enough. That’s sweet. If she didn’t care about them she wouldn’t have played cards on the roof with Rhys, or play bunkers and badasses with the boys, or I don’t know, let them LIVE IN WHAT IS ESSENTIALLY HER HOUSE FOR A YEAR. /ref ep.3 of tales. I’m being dramatic, of course there are factors that didn’t let her kick them out. But, my point stands.

That wasn’t meaaan that was playful reassurance, she’s telling him she’s THERE FOR HIM. They all care sooosososo much. If none of the, cared about each other, any “betrayal” wouldn’t mean that much. People get hurt like that because of their bonds and yes, YES I’m being opinionated but they’re like the found family ever, god. Fiona is fucking amazing and she wouldn’t put up with anyone if she didn’t either have to, or care, and after a certain point it’s very obvious that it’s not the first one.

TLDR; Tales is great, stan Fiona, stan Rhys, Stan Sasha and Vaughn,,, my glorious queens and kings. Forgive any typos or grammar I wrote this on a passionate whim,
