(He's based off of the god, Milil, who, yes, I know has an in-game appearance, but I wanted to take my own spin on it, based off of information from the DND wiki.) (The decision of making the Guardian Milil came from the fact that Adventure's a bard and knows about Milil, and that it would, to me, make sense that the Guardian wants Adventure to trust him, so he'd take a familiar form.)

Other: Born partially blind and with stunning golden eyes. Rumored to be part fae. Also has a really weird thing against mosquitos and mild ophidiophobia.

The results of the 2024 U.S. election are deeply concerning, but the OTW remains committed to providing an inclusive space for fannish expression and will continue to fight for fans' free expression, both in court and through legislative efforts, in the U.S. and worldwide. We have seen that fans are a powerful force for promoting free expression, and we will continue to inform people about opportunities for their voices to be heard. If a bill is likely to be passed in the future that could impact our ability to provide services, our legal team will be prepared to offer updates, guidance, and legal support to our users. Hey, I found a beanie boo that I liked the design of but I can't stand those giant uguu eyes. Do you think it would be possible to replace them with smaller safety eyes akin to the old beanie babies? If yes, do you have any advice?

I was gonna answer this in a normal way, but then I got curious about trying it for myself and thought I might as well demonstrate!

So, I went and picked up a guy from the supermarket. The selection there was pretty barren today but I found a decent test subject:

(First of all, to my friend who loves beanie boos, I am so sorry for this lmao)

So! First I opened up the closing seam on his back. However, I found an extra mesh barrier inside! Clearly this is to prevent bean escape since this is the most likely seam to accidentally pop open through play. This would be a bit annoying to work around so I just sewed it back up and went in the back of the head instead…

Opened and unstuffed the head…

…And turning it inside out to get to the backs of the eyes. Whoa, these plastic washers are the biggest I’ve ever seen!! Cutting through them will take some work!

Please be very careful of your fingers cutting through these!! Be careful not to cut the fabric around the eye too, but mostly be careful of yourself!

Anyway grrrrrrr attack attack slice slice grrrr

They’re out! With a little glue I think the washers would be able to hold on perfectly well again. I’ll keep these eyes to reuse on something where they’ll be a bit more proportional!

The washers on these eyes are particularly cup shaped, fitting around the back of the eye and holding the fabric tightly against them. Now that the eyes are removed, this has left imprints on the fur!

Plenty of brushing and rumfling will help to fix the creased and flattened areas of fur, and wetting the fur or gently steaming over a hot cup of water should help too. It might take a little time!

(Also, I did make a little cut in the cheek while removing a washer, oops! No worries, that can be stitched up.)

Now we can try on a few new eye styles! Restuff the head for now so you can see how they’ll look.

I have a few sizes of solid black, from teeny dots to absolute tbh creature…

These blue eyes were a little scary… no thanks!

I even have some glittery ones like the original, but smaller! Pretty nice actually!

And even some googly eyes hehehe!

But my favourite eyes were some basic 9mm black ones! They are placed a little funny here, but the position will change a little bit…

The holes left by the original eyes were very big, so a couple of stitches are needed on each one to tighten them up to fit the new eyes. I stitched the top outer corners, to move the holes down and inwards a bit. If you wanted, you could even sew them closed completely and make new eye holes elsewhere!

Unstuff again and pop those new eyes in!

Restuff! You might actually need to add a little extra stuffing, as the fabric not being so pulled around the eyes any more will mean it is a little ‘baggier’.

Then sew the head closed again and that’s about it! The fur is still a little creased around mine, but I’ll keep working at it and it should become less visible.

To add a tiny bit more shape to the big round head, I also did a touch of threadsculpting. I ran a thread from the corner of each eye to below the chin and back, just pulling the eyes in a tad more. You might decide you don’t need this!

And there we go! Hope you’ll try it yourself!

Am I welcome on this blog, even though I’m also ace? Hello, hello, hello! I welcome you to the story. Although you might know my name, for this post, and posts like it, I'll be calling myself the note-taker. Of course, miss Adventure will have her own thoughts on all this, herself. Please, make yourselves comfortable. I hope this is entertaining.

"Mindflayers... I've never been a fan of them already but this? Oh this is a nightmare..." "Ah. Hello. I should introduce myself. My name is Adventure- oh? You already knew that? Well, alright then." "I'm a twenty-four year old bard... what kind? Oh, just your normal, average, tiefling bard. I trained in a College of Lore, have been a bard for about ten years or so, play a violin, usually perform on whatever street corner I can find... yeah, this probably isn't what you're here for." "Alright, alright. Let's start the show."

"Let me explain." "Yesterday, at least I think it was yesterday. I have no idea how long I've been here. Anyways, yesterday I was just going about my usual day-to-day routine. I was mid-performance, just outside the Elfsong, safest place to perform, lemme tell you, it was a lovely, normal, day." "The sky was clear, and there was just the right kind of breeze. And then..." "Death from above." "This shadow, black as night, descends upon us, and I look up just in time to see a tentacle, like something out of a horror story, reach down. I blacked out." "When I came to my senses again, I was in a pod on this ship. There was... I believe a Githyanki, in one of the other pods." "This mindflayer enters the room. I was lucky I couldn't scream. It picks something up and walks over to the woman, the Githyanki." "Do Githyanki even have genders? For that matter, do mindflayers?"* "... I'll have to do some research later." "Either way, it, the mindflayer, holds up this tadpole, this ugly, sluggish monstrosity with the mouth of a hagfish, up to her-" "Their? Its? His? I don't know." "Either way, holds the tadpole up to, I'm guessing her, eye." "I didn't see what happened, I clenched my eyes shut." "When I opened my eyes again, the thing, the mindflayer, was inches from my pod. It holds another one of the tadpoles up to my eye. I did the only thing I could." "Fainted."

"I was only jostled back to my senses when the ship was attacked, by what I didn't really get to see." "The Githyanki was gone. The other pods were broken and ruined, and my pod was open. So I got out. No point in staying." "And that brings us here." "Where the hells are we?" "I honestly think it is the hells..." "Ugh. Lovely." "I want to go home."

"I'll admit, there was a bit of morbid curiosity about this ship. I did some poking around and found the only good mindflayer." "A dead one."** "There were some chests around. They... felt almost alive." *shudder.* "I have came to one conclusion..." "Mindflayers are gross."

"Yeah, nothing quite like seeing how you could have died, if luck wasn't on your side." "Honestly, I don't even know if luck was on my side, or if something needed me alive." "Poor guy."

"Here it is." "The reason I'm in this nightmare." "Ugh, there's even some tadpoles still in there..." "They looked a lot bigger up close."

"And it's fragile. Probably damaged." "... Why do I wanna touch it?"

"I'm gonna touch it."

"Ah."***

"Ow. Okay, bad idea." "No more of those."

"..." "These doors remind me of something." "Something I cannot say in good public."

* I know Githyanki do, apparently, have genders, but I'm still not sure on mindflayers. (yes, I know about Omellum, but I honestly believe he is only "he" because of the people around him.) ** As established above, I know about Omellum. Adventure, poor dear, doesn't right now.
