ok ok hello ive been following your blog for a while now and ive always wanted to say smth bc i really want sherlock mutuals but i never knew what to say but now i do!! ok ok im vry high on nicotine rn and drank a lot of redbull so excuse me if this is the weirdest ice breaker youve ever had??? anyway i just bought the first part of jay's sherlock: a scandal in belgravia manga and- these are def CHOICES.

also appreciate the fact that jay took notice of sherlys booty

NOT a strange ice breaker at all, I actually think it's kinda cute, LOL. You're enticing me with the Manga art, which is always a good opener for me!!

That said, JAY is a GIFT to the Sherlock Manga. They are ABSOLUTELY my own personal Art Goals™ and I absolutely adore their art and how Johnlocky it gets in an official publication (they are a Johnlocker, so it makes sense)... kind of JUST on the line before crossing it, heh. And it's very heavily implied in the way they draw John and Sherlock together.

That said, I have all the ASIB comics, just haven't had the chance to read them yet (I buy them mostly for collecting purposes), but OMG those frames you picked out, *chef's kiss* wonderful.

If you ever get the chance, buy the whole series of books, they're all chock FULL of stuff like this, LOL.

"A Scandal in Belgravia" 2nd volume by Jay

Dear fellow Sherlockians, you probably all know manga artist Jay for their official adaptation of BBC Sherlock. I own the volumes published in Italy by Panini Comics and I find that Jay has done a great job! This December 3, 2021, the second volume of "A Scandal in Belgravia" was released for Japanese readers.

I have no idea how and when the volume will be released in your countries (maybe by Titan Comics for english readers?), but I heartily recommend that you buy it and support the work of this artist, and continue to spread the love for comic literature around the world.

Last weekend there was a special Goma-chan event and exhibition in Nara City along with the opening of another Goma-chan themed cafe. I just found out that Morishita-sensei is from Nara herself!

I was finally able to get my own copy of the manga version of ASiB and, man, I'm in love with the back cover (plus, that gorgeous image is also in the bookmark included)

Unfortunately I cannot help you, because that part is NOT covered in the manga. It’s called ASIB part 1, there is only half of the episode :)

Ah, I found ASiP when misread your ask, LOL. I haven't found any of the other ones, and I know that the English version of the ASiB one was delayed because of the pandemic (I literally just picked up the last part a few months ago) so yeah, I don't know if it's anywhere online yet.

Anyone have any links they can provide?

I am confused about the Sherlock Manga? Is it just the tv show as a manga or is it john lock focused???

Ah, nope, the OFFICIAL one is just the show in manga form, but because the artist is a Johnlocker, they tend to... add really subtle things to their art that Johnlockers pick up on right away but most people don't. And the way they interpreted the script..? At least in the ASiP adaptation, they write out John's thoughts and they're, uh... interesting (iirc, there's one scene where John is thinking about Sherlock's looks and wondering what he is feeling, LOL).

Check out my sherlock manga tag for a bit more, but yeah, the manga has been compiled into "episode" paperbacks so you can still buy them that way. They're worth the money; it is a condensed version of the episodes, but each episode is 6 books (minus ASIB, which was split up into...8 I think? I know they're a part one and part 2, I wanna say 4 books each, I'd have to go back to mine and check.) But yeah, totally get them, they're great.
