In the process of trying to find the reference for the precious post, I'm posting a gazebo build! The gazebo build itself is altered with its roof because I wanted similar roof tiles to the previous builds. Even though I try to stay coherent with the materials, it isn't perfect. As for the garden and rice patties, I had some ideas but I mostly just worked with my environment and creative muscles with my limited space.

honestly i love mcc i love competitive minecraft but the game just isn’t fun for anyone anymore. lots of players have dropped out are talking of dropping out or go on stream saying things like ‘this is the first mcc i’ve actually enjoyed in a while’ . like. thats not the sign that an event is successful . and i don’t really think that’s scott’s or the developers faults but it’s more so the culture around mcc that has changed drastically in the past year or so.
when i first started watching it, mcc was about cc’s learning to work together and competing in a fun event where there was no real stakes except the winners got a fun little token. mccs rise in popularity has snowballed a little to develop this culture of expectancy . as with all fanbases, some fans become a little too engrossed in the content and become a little overbearing about it creating this toxic culture of criticism under the guise of analysis . this isn’t to say that all mcc analysts are toxic or that the concept of vod reviewing and analysing a players performance is bad- but the attitude that a lot of the more vocal fans have been taking towards this has been .mm . not the best .
forcing players into rigid boxes based on their performance records and dogpiling them if they undeperform or over glorifying a players for performing above their average etc, it creates a competitive culture amongst fans trying to prove who suppprts the better player . very much ‘my dad is stronger than your dad’ kind of vibe.
this whole attitude also makes it less enjoyable for the players who may now feel a lot of pressure to conform to the expectations of their fans- of course everyone tries their best every event but if someone’s having a bad performance they’re more likely to experience genuine discomfort and self confidence issues continuing in the event because they know what people are expecting of them . even for lower ranking players it can affect self confidence because nobody expects anything of them .
its marketed deeply throughout the fandom as a for fun event with people who are naturally competitive being shunned for their competitive attitude but logging online and seeing people hating some people winning, hating on other teams for knocking their team out of top 2, refusing to congratulate the winners, even complaining over and over again that some aspects of the event like pvp and parkour are unfair to their streamer because their streamer ain’t good at them to the point where pvp and parkour games had their coin distribution rules changed . that doesn’t scream for fun behaviour .
that’s another thing . random changes to games that don’t necessarily need to be changed . the buildmart changes were good it make it easier to navigate and allowed people to move between sections faster and featured some new builds, the sky battle coin distribution prioritising the amount of time you survive over kills actually undermines the point of the game as a pvp heavy event . instead of fighting people you can get away with playing more defensively . we already have survival games for survivability . same goes for remixes i don’t think they typically go down well . some might but majority don’t tend to have a good reception .
even within the players themselves, there’s because quite a cliquey kind of dynamic where if the team with the most support doesn’t win, the winners are not congratulated. take last night for example . ponk and gumi scored their first wins, ponk being the first black person and as far as i can remember gumi being the second woc and first asian woman to win an mcc . let’s not even get into the diversity of mcc right now but only two people came into the voice call which lasted a while after the event to congratulate the team, only sylvee and scott and a few replies on twitter . ‘oh but the captain’ idc . i love him too but he didn’t win and it was a big day for the team that did with 50% of the team getting their first win and they played really well together. looking again at fan behaviour towards creators some players have felt unwelcome by the pressure of the competitive dynamic called bad sports for being upset with their own underperforming and alienated by the community for having multiple wins or because they just don’t want them in the event . that doesn’t scream for fun . and that in itself is really bad sportsmanship .
i think overall what started to kill mcc was it’s pandering really. i’ve fully done research on how scott puts together teams before but i still believe a lot of what goes into a team is how well it will be received. it doesn’t really force creators to get to know each other and work with each other it just takes groups of people who already know each other have relationships with each other and have relationships that are recognisable to the fanbase . this doesn’t allow people to meet and find new creators they might enjoy to watch and it prioritises some teams as the Ones To Watch because of certain dynamics pres t which undermines any smaller creators trying to make their way into the event . the insistence on changing games based on viewer complaints as opposed to suggestions from players themselves on how things can be improved is just odd to me too .
idk man mcc just isn’t what it used to be and a lot of people are becoming way too entitled over what they want to see there

While there is a level of "benefit of the doubt" I sometimes want to give to MCD, there are things from a writer's perspective that still will always perpelex me, if not outright disgust me to an extent.
For one, believe me I am pro widows moving on and finding new love, but even with MCD, something about Aphmau and Aaron's relationship still feels off. While it's written better than MYS Aarmau by leaps, I still can't help to feel that Aaron should have just been left to, live out his life. Having him sleep with Aphmau and then go off to save Garroth while in character for him, feels, almost dirty to do to him. I adore a character being "cursed to a cycle of pain and suffering for the bettering of others" as the next mentally ill loser, but Aaron has gone through years of hunting down Zane after the untimley death of not only his son and wofe, but his ENTIRE town. Let the man sleep, for once PLEASE.
Two, there's a plot poont of Zane trying to activly remove and push out the wolf trives from their home to spread Ok'hasis rule, which if you're anyone, you'll understand why it's nasty for a visibly white character trying to force a group of people who are notably native to that land, out from those homes. While I'm pro make Zane as evil as you can, there are some lines I don't think should be crossed in a damn minecraft roleplay of all things.
Third, KC and then thusly Nekoette's use (improper as it is) of Japanese honorifics is very, strange from a world building perspective. There is no reigon in the established MCD world that is asian adjacent in any way. Unless it was intended for there to be one revealed in later seasons then eh, but still, it wouldn't excuse the ungodly improper use. If anything, they could have tried to introduce an hnorofics sytem with meifwas/Tu'la culture, since the two would be most likely toghtly wound together, plus with how Tu'la activly exists under a monarchy. No way they could make Japanese ones work without quite literally a Japan equivalent, which they obviously didn't have.

pavitr headcannons !
Tumblr media
don’t know his canon birthday, but i see pav as a sag sun, cancer moon, pisces rising, sag mercury, libra venus, and cancer mars
he really loves astrology but he uses vedic astrology instead of tropical
everytime he feels like he’s made a new friend or feels comfortable with someone, he IMMEDIATELY asks for the birth chart
he really loves video games, especially sonic
his fave character is amy :)
hobie and pavitr play any and every decision based game ever made (life is strange, until dawn, undertale, etc.)
gwen and pav have a minecraft world where they allow NO ONE else to hop into (they’re very territorial over this)
they build like these extravagant houses from the ground up
literally they built a skyscraper from the ground up in creative ?!
aside from this one server, pavitr mainly plays in survival with gayatri, miles, and hobie whenever he feels up to it
aside from the classics he grew up with, he really likes kpop and indie music
his ults are itzy, twice, and nct dream convince me otherwise
he doesn’t really listen to many soloists, but likes chungha, taemin, and sunmi
has definitely learned the wannabe choreo and flaunts that he can do the ryujin shoulder move CONSTANTLY 😭😭😭
it’ll be mid conversation and he just starts doing the shoulder move
outside of kpop though, he really likes clairo, alex sloane, hojean, niki, the nbhd, conan gray, hemlocke springs, and other artists in this soundscape
he gets so excited when he finds south asian indie artists
his love language is definitely acts of service and physical touch
this shows through a lot with the amount of times he’s cooked his cultural foods and baked pastries for the people in his life
he loves seeing people’s satisfaction after eating his food
gwen has definitely said some of his dishes were too spicy tho 😭😭
he accommodates her by making a smaller, less spicy dish for her whenever he cooks for gwen
aside from chai, he’s really good at making different teas and coffee
lattes, americanos, macchiatos, green tea, chamomile, you name it, pav can make it !
because of this, he’s been dubbed the group’s chef and barista
miles LOVES whenever pavitr decides to crash in his dimension because of his chai and green tea specifically
another way pavitr shows his love is by playing with peoples hair
if you let him, he’s just always trying to braid hair or just combing through it with his fingers
or with people with afro textured hair like miles, he’s always putting it in cornrows after he watched many tutorials on it
playing with gayatri’s hair is always the most relaxing to him tho
speaking of him and gayatri, they’re like couple of the year to his friend group in the spider society
“y’all are so cute, it’s kind of gross”
“but you and miles aren’t gross?”
“pav, we aren’t a couple”
“with the way y’all stare at each other, might as well be”
him and gayatri love going on dates where they’re in nature
picnics, hiking trails, wherever
if it’s a rainy day, they love watching studio ghibli movies or playing video games together
he still hasn’t mustered up the courage to tell gayatri he’s spiderman
sometimes his spiderman duties makes him miss plans with gayatri and he sometimes feels really terrible about it
he makes it up to her by baking her favorite pastries and doing her favorite things with her :)
he also likes making bracelets, necklaces, and rings for her
he got into jewelry making because of hobie teaching him
when him and miles get closer, he starts putting all the drawings miles gives him on his wall
he’s very sentimental with all the things his friends gives him

Boys at school now see Ari as an easy target, someone who won’t say no.
Then Ari finds a mysterious note in her locker that eventually leads her to a group of students determined to expose Luis for the predator he is. To her surprise, she finds genuine friendship among the group, including her growing feelings for the very last girl she expected to fall for. I’m not safe anywhere.
That’s how Sadie feels every day after–vulnerable, uprooted. She retreats inside as the weeks slip by and relies on her phone to stay connected to the outside world. When Sadie’s therapist gives her a diagnosis for her debilitating panic–agoraphobia–she starts on a path of acceptance and healing. Meanwhile, Sadie’s best friend, Evan, updates her on the protests taking place in their city. Sadie wants to be a part of it, to use her voice and affect change. But how do you show up for your community when you can’t even leave your house?
I can build a safe place inside myself.
That’s what Sadie learns over the course of one life-changing summer, with some help from her family, her best friend, an online platform for activists, and a magnetic crush she develops for the new boy next door. — Cover image and summary via Goodreads

So Much For Stardust Chapter Four
Ford’s POV:
Kenz fell asleep, comforted by Rusty’s presence. “So much for a sterile environment.” Suddenly, I heard mewling from behind Kenz’s shoulders. Licorice, one of the kittens that Mabel was fostering with an inky black pelt, was kneading into Kenz’s shoulders. Kenz hazily blinked awake, a look of zen on their face. Licorice crawled over to Kenz’s face. “Hello void cat.”
“Mew!” Kenz smiled as the kitten went back over to their shoulders, kneading them. Kenz seemed totally calm and relaxed from the kitten’s kneading and the pressure of Rusty’s puppy head on their neck. It was hard to truly tell if they were lethargic from Bill’s relentless attack, or just really relaxed from the stimuli. Ann did say they were a huge animal person. Mabel walked down the stairs. “Hey Grunkle Ford? Have you seen—“ She then noticed Licorice kneading into Kenz’s shoulders, allowing them to finally sleep peacefully.
“I wouldn’t move him if I were you. He’s currently assisting a patient.”
Mabel gazed at Kenz, her eyes lighting up. “Wait, is that Kenz?”
“Shhh!!! They’re finally sleeping without nightmares.”
Mabel started to look concerned. “Poor Kenz.”
Suddenly, Licorice bolted out from behind Kenz’s shoulders, hissing and yowling.
“Licorice usually isn’t scared of dogs.” Mabel then gasped. “SNAKE!!!”
“WHAT?!!!”
Sure enough, there was a large snake with brown scales and golden eyes with circular pupils. The snake flared its hood as Kenz started to stir. At this realization, the snake backed off, coiled around Kenz’s arm.
“That’s a Gravity Falls King Cobra. A highly intelligent snake. Even more intelligent than their Asian counterparts, they’re known for using tools to build nests and they have their own language of color changing scales. Not a true member of the Ophiophagus genus, it’s an example of—“
“Convergent evolution.” Kenz chimed up, not at all disturbed by the snake wrapped around their arm. “It must be named a king cobra due to its intelligence, the ability to flare its hood, and I noticed it eat a rattlesnake. Ophiophagus means ‘snake-eater.’ But it must not be a true member of the genus as it’s monophyletic.”
“What did Kenz just say?” For several moments, no one else spoke. Kenz didn’t have any bites on them from the snake. It closed its pupil and rested its head on Kenz’s hand. I shook at the sight of such a massive snake, doubly surprised that Kenz knew so much about it.
“You’re not scared of snakes, aren’t you Grunkle Ford?”
“What? Me? No.” I awkwardly chuckled as Mabel gave me a doubtful look. “He is.”
Once again, Kenz chimed in from nowhere. “Kenz, you know how venomous that snake is?”
“It has fixed fangs at the front, and the shape of its head reminds me of that of a coral snake. Still an elapid, but not part of the Ophiophagus genus. I saw the fangs when it was eating.” Kenz said in a matter of fact tone. They gazed at the snake watchfully and in awe, their emerald green eyes lighting up and no longer glazed over and lethargic. They gently sat up to not shock the snake and tried to stand. The snake perked up and nudged them back down. “I have to let you outside.”
“Did you just talk to it like it was a dog?” Mabel held Licorice in place, petting the cat. “It’s clearly much smarter, so I didn’t use my infantilizing voice.” They gaze at the snake while still trying to stand up. The snake leaned on them with all its strength, which was more than enough to keep Kenz down. “Wouldn’t you rather be outside? Ford’s terrified of snakes and has likely snake-proofed the shack, meaning that there’s no food for you here. Although you probably eat more than just snakes as you are not a king cobra.” Kenz gazed at me embarrassed, burying their head in their Minecraft fox pillow. “Sorry for having a full on conversation with a snake. It’s not like it could talk back. I just talk to every animal. I know they listen, and I can tell what they would say from body language. It’s why I talk for dogs all the time.”
There was something about Kenz that I couldn’t put a finger on. They no longer had that light in their eyes, instead they were filled with disdain and embarrassment. They weren’t holding onto the snake at all. It frightened me and puzzled me at the same time, seeing it so close to Kenz. Kenz ignored its persistent nudging as if it were a dog trying to get their attention. “Look at me. I’m kinda losing my fucking mind. Talking to snakes.” They buried their head deeper into the collection of plushies and pillows. “This is just some crazy dream that is strewn in a chain of false awakenings because I am in some fucking coma… This is Bill’s fault. All of it… And what can I do? I’ve tried fighting against him!!! And I’ll still try!!! He’s— Fuck. Why am I saying this all aloud? I have an audience!!!” They tried to stand up again, but was nudged back down by the snake. “Please, let me pace agitatedly back and forth so that I can deal with my emotions.”
“Kenz—“
“Ugh!!!” They curled up, almost shutting down and trying to put the mask back on. They trembled slightly, trying not to show it. They gazed at the snake. “Why do you stay around? I only saved you from being decapitated from Stan’s soda can that was littered on the floor. You could have bitten me while I was doing it, and both of us would have died. But you didn’t. And I assumed it was because you figured that I was your only hope at your life. You could have just left afterwards. But you stayed. Like you owe me. Not very many animals, and no reptiles even, have that capacity.” The spark from before returned to their eyes, but they were still tightly curled up and bristling, as if trying their best to keep the mask on. “You seem adamant on saving my life. But what’s the evolutionary advantage of compassion for a species that doesn’t rely on others of its own for raising their young or—“ Kenz buried their nose deeper into the pillows and plushies, trying to keep themself from saying any more. “Fuck.”
Finally, I spoke up. “You have a lot going on in your mind, don’t you?” I couldn’t bring myself to scoot closer due to the snake, but I was half tempted to give Kenz a reassuring pat on the back. They’re so used to hiding away, even when they left home. I sighed, taking notes in my new journal as Kenz tried their best to calm themself down. They stroked the snake carefully as if trying their best not to agitate it. The snake leaned into the affectionate gesture, causing Kenz to jolt back in surprise. “What the fuck is happening?” They sat up, trying to keep the mask on still. They quivered with each breath. They didn’t seem afraid by any means of the snake, as their gaze was strictly on me and Mabel.
“Kenz—“
“When was the last time I ate? I must’ve lost a shit ton of weight. I feel all dizzy whenever I sit up. Is that why Scalesy, no. I can think of a more creative name than that… But nothing comes to mind other than Scalesy— Fuck. I’m doing that ADHD thing! Where I get distracted mid-sentence. What was I talking about?”
Mabel smiled. “I do that too. My name’s Mabel.”
“I-I’m Kenz. I am as you can see, going through a shit ton of issues right now and am dealing with it by talking to myself, and Scalesy. Fine. You can be called Scalesy. But that’s because I can’t think of a better name.”
They seemed to shake less whenever Scalesy was next to them. They sat up, only to fall back over with a glazed look on their eyes. They shook even more, and tried to stiffen themself up to hide it. How much damage has Bill done to them?
