[Encoded message from Agent Henri J.Broussais - Badge number AARO 035460 ] The town of Wicked's Rest is peaceful in appearance. It is medium in size. The businesses in town are more varied than the size of the town would suggest, and my two hands aren't enough to count the strange occurrences I have seen on my first day. I will however stick to the parts that you have sent me to investigate :
The most disturbing for the moment, but also the first observation (olfactory) that I was able to make: there emerges from the mines a pestilential odor reminiscent of sulfur and coal. This smell is found all over the city, due to a massive and extensive cave network. I look forward to more clearly establishing a map of the different cellars.
As I find the aspect of these animals rather troubling, you will find attached a photo of the hermit crabs that swarm all over town: they seem to be wearing parts of listed anomaly ME-WR-A184 as a shell. I will catch one and send it to you soon for analysis in the next few days. Please communicate on whether or not you wish for a specimen, and if you do, precise whether you want it dead or alive.
Regards, Agent Broussais, AARO
Henri pressed send. Disconnecting himself from the Department of Defense’s platform, he shut his computer and reached in the ashtray for his cigarette. Standing up to his feet, he headed toward the window. The air purifier he brought alongside him wasn’t precisely doing a good enough job regarding the town’s stench.
The cabin the CIA had gotten him was nothing special. He supposed a miner, in his 30’s, itinerary, without a girl or boy in his life, wouldn’t have had a special place for himself. At least it was quiet here, and it would have enough room for his dog while he was out in the mines.
This cabin reminded him of the small house he had grown up in, in the Reno suburbs. With the kind of father he had, you wouldn't expect to ever have anything nice. Whatever money his father earned in cons was usually lost in gambling rather than invested into his son’s education, for instance. The only thing Henri’s father had ever taught him was how to swindle poor sods, naive and clairvoyant alike. He was quite good at it. Though it was not hereditary, he certainly had inherited those skills from his father. What a bitter thought that was. Home was a place he rejected, a place he never wished to return to. It was a place both empty and full of failure, a void he couldn’t ever fully escape, even after all these years. It showed in the way he couldn’t trust anyone fully, in the way he always felt a need to find the catch. If it had done its load of damage to any relationship he had tried to pursue, it did wonders for his career, and he had figured that this was probably the best he could get from life. It was easier this way.
Taking a glance at the red, beat up pick up truck parked in the driveway took him out of his torpor. Right. He needed to shop for groceries. He supposed that would allow him to get another look at the town. You could learn a bunch of things looking at people. The supermarket was a good spot for him to get an idea of the general mood. He could only hope the produce wouldn’t share the town’s stench. “Alright Buddy,” he gave his dog a glance while he picked up his baseball cap from his chair. It was nothing Henri liked to wear, but he supposed Elijah liked looking like a jackass with floppy hair, drinking beer at the counter and playing pool. A baseball cap was mandatory. This was the kind of job where he would be able to only rely on his wits. He wouldn’t be walking around with a badge and a gun attached to his belt or concealed in his back, under his shirt. It would be him, his mind and the whirlwind of emotions he’d perceive from those he interrogated. Getting a fucking read on that couldn’t be harder here than it was else where. Heh, it wasn’t his first rodeo in a supernatural hotspot. He’d be fine. “You wanna get shotgun?” Opening the passenger door for the golden retriever, he took one last look around and then, he was on his way.

For everyone stating about ruining re-sale value/having your place smell and being noseblind:
Smoke in a well ventilated room, near a window if convenient.
Empty ashtrays everyday (or at least every couple) and wash ashtrays at least once a week in soapy hot water.
Air out every room for at least 15 minutes each day, I tend to leave my hallway and bedroom window open all the time except in winter where I do open them for about 15 minutes before closing again, but during summer I just have every window open. This isn't just for cigarette smell, this is for general maintenance as well, prevents damp and improves air circulation.
Clean glass surfaces once a week (windows, mirrors) and any electrical appliance screens too.
1 part white vinegar to 1 part water, spray all surfaces, especially wooden or other porous material unless you know vinegar will damage it (shouldn't as it's so diluted, but google to be sure). If you're walls are painted you can spray and wipe them down with the same solution, it should not affect the paint at all but google your paint brand and see what is advised not to use on it. Wallpaper I would just replace if it's absorbent but if it has a sheen/"laminate" surface then spray and wipe. This includes doors and skirting boards.
Soft furnishing, sprinkle with baking soda, leave to sit for 20-30 minutes, hoover. Do this at least twice, try a day apart.
You can buy activated charcoal in bamboo bags for air purification, cheaper than buying an air purifier but if you can get one, certainly helps.
Wash curtains, smaller rugs and soft blinds in a washing machine. Larger carpets may require hiring a carpet shampooer. If you can't remove the blinds or curtains, fabric refreshers like febreze will help but not entirely erase. Any prodcucts aimed at reducing pet smells are often better.
Buy plants, plants are excellent for removing odours by purifying the air.
I probably do this two or three times a year for the "larger" tasks (the walls mainly) and the smaller tasks at least once a month because I do smoke indoors a lot. I try to smoke outside when I'm going out but other than walking my dogs I don't tend to go outside, and I like to smoke when going through some of my work tasks because I'm remote.
It's a lot of work but if you prefer to smoke indoors and not have that smell, or you just quit and want to remove the smell, these tips will help. Nothing's perfect but it's always worked for me.
This being said, don't smoke indoors if it's not your place, that is just plain rude.
getting one of my friends to housesit and hes like Aw man dude don't worry just enjoy your vacation and the moment I close the door to get in my taxi he tweets "i love smoking cigarettes indoors"

Ashtrays—long associated with smoking cigarrettes and cigars—are experiencing a resurgence in popularity, and not just for decorative purposes.
Online smoke shops and big-box stores alike are selling ashtrays in droves as digital cigarette alternatives have surged in recent years. These devices, known as electronic cigarettes or e-cigarettes, produce a vaporized liquid nicotine solution known as "vaping." The refillable e-cigarettes require users to fill a cartridge with liquid nicotine and then heat up the device to create a smoke-like vapor that is inhaled.
The ashtray's importance has been realized by the makers of these e-cigarettes. Ashtrays—or more precisely, glass catch trays—are an essential part of the process. They are a must-have accessory for vapers who need a place to dispose of their used cartridges. Most e-cigarette products come with a tray that fits snugly into the cigarette holder and catches the used cartridges.
Vapers also prefer using an ashtray to collect any excess nicotine that may have spilled during the filling process. This helps to keep the area clean and the air free from nicotine. Some companies are even offering smokeless ashtrays—like the Trayganics Air Purifying Ashtray—that actually trap the nicotine vapors before they are released into the air.
It's no surprise that ashtray makers are able to capitalize on the burgeoning e-cigarette market. As more and more smokers turn to alternatives like vaping, ashtrays are poised to become ubiquitous fixtures in the homes of former smoking enthusiasts. With the convenience, price, and safety that these new devices bring, ashtrays are sure to remain in high demand.

Quick Ways to Eliminate Smoke Smells
Smoke smells can be a persistent nuisance, whether they come from cigarettes, cooking, or even a fire. Not only do these odors linger, but they also permeate fabrics, walls, and furniture, making them challenging to remove. If you’re struggling with unwanted smoke smells in your space, don't worry. I’ve got you covered with some quick and effective solutions that will help you reclaim air fresheners and a pleasant environment.
Understanding the Source of Smoke Smells
Before diving into solutions, it’s important to understand why smoke smells are so stubborn. Smoke, regardless of its origin, has tiny particles that cling to surfaces. Here’s a quick overview of the types of smoke and how they impact your home:
Cigarette Smoke: This is notorious for its ability to seep into every nook and cranny, leaving a lingering smell that can be tough to eradicate.
Cooking Smoke: If you’ve ever overcooked something or had a kitchen mishap, you know that cooking smoke can settle into your home and be just as persistent.
Fire-Related Smoke: Smoke from fires, whether from a fireplace or an accidental blaze, can leave a strong, acrid odor that needs thorough treatment.
The reason these smells linger is that smoke particles can penetrate deep into fabrics, walls, and other materials, making them hard to get rid of with simple cleaning methods alone.
Immediate Actions to Take
If you need to tackle smoke smells quickly, here are some immediate actions you can take:
Ventilate the Area
First and foremost, you’ll want to get fresh air circulating through the space. Open all windows and doors to create a cross-breeze. Using fans can help accelerate the process, pushing out stale, smoky air and pulling in fresh air. The more ventilation you have, the faster you can clear out the smoke smell.
Remove the Source of Smoke
If you still have any ashtrays, burnt materials, or items related to the smoke source, remove them immediately. These items can continue to emit odors even after the initial smoke has dissipated.
Use Absorbing Agents
Several natural substances can absorb smoke smells effectively:
Baking Soda: Place bowls of baking soda around the affected area. Baking soda is a natural odor absorber that can help neutralize the smell.
Charcoal Briquettes: Like baking soda, charcoal can absorb odors. Place a few briquettes in a container and leave them around the room.
Coffee Grounds: Used coffee grounds are also great at absorbing odors. Place them in bowls around the room to help neutralize the smell.
Neutralize the Odor with Natural Methods
Natural methods can be quite effective in neutralizing smoke odors:
White Vinegar Spray: Mix equal parts of white vinegar and water in a spray bottle and lightly mist the area. The vinegar smell dissipates quickly, taking the smoke odor with it.
Boiling Lemon and Cloves: Boil a pot of water with lemon slices and cloves. The steam from this mixture can help freshen up the air.
Essential Oils: Essential oils like eucalyptus or lavender can be used in a diffuser or mixed with water in a spray bottle. These oils help mask and neutralize the smoke smell.
Deep Cleaning Techniques
For more thorough smoke smell removal, deep cleaning is often necessary:
Clean All Surfaces
Smoke particles can cling to walls, ceilings, and floors. Clean these surfaces with a solution of vinegar and water to remove residue. Pay special attention to corners and areas where smoke may have settled.
Wash Fabrics and Upholstery
Fabrics and upholstery are particularly susceptible to smoke smells. Wash curtains, furniture covers, and any other removable fabrics in the washing machine with odor-neutralizing detergents. For items that can’t be machine washed, consider steam cleaning. This method can penetrate deeper into the fibers and remove stubborn odors.
Clean or Replace Air Filters
HVAC systems and air purifiers often have filters that can trap smoke particles. Clean or replace these filters to prevent the recirculation of smoke odors. Regular maintenance of these systems is crucial for ongoing freshness.
Using Air Fresheners and Purifiers
Air fresheners and purifiers can be powerful tools in your battle against smoke odors:
Choosing the Right Air Fresheners
When selecting air fresheners, opt for those specifically designed to eliminate odors rather than just masking them. Products like odor-neutralizing sprays, gels, and plug-ins can help keep your space smelling fresh. Essential oil diffusers are another great option for a natural and pleasant scent.
Utilizing Air Purifiers
Air purifiers with HEPA and activated carbon filters are excellent for removing smoke particles from the air. HEPA filters capture airborne particles, while activated carbon filters absorb odors. Investing in a quality air purifier can make a significant difference in maintaining a fresh-smelling environment.
Preventative Measures
Once you've tackled the smoke smell, it’s important to implement preventative measures to keep it from returning:
Regular Cleaning Routine
Maintain a routine cleaning schedule to prevent smoke odors from setting in. Regularly clean surfaces, fabrics, and air filters to ensure a fresh environment.
Creating a Smoke-Free Zone
Designate specific areas for smoking, preferably outside, to prevent smoke from entering your home. If you need to smoke indoors, use air purifiers and keep the space well-ventilated.
Incorporating Scented Products
Use natural air fresheners, scented candles, or potpourri to keep your space smelling pleasant. Our collection of perfumes and attars can also add a delightful, fresh fragrance to your home, helping to mask any residual odors.
Professional Help and Long-Term Solutions
Sometimes, despite your best efforts, smoke smells can be stubborn. Here’s when you might need professional assistance:
When to Call in Professionals
If smoke odors persist after thorough cleaning, it may be time to call in professional cleaners. They have specialized equipment and cleaning solutions designed to tackle tough odors and restore your home’s freshness.
Long-Term Solutions
For severe cases, consider long-term solutions such as:
Repainting Walls: Use odor-blocking paints to seal in smoke smells and refresh the space.
Replacing Carpets and Upholstery: In extreme cases, replacing carpets and furniture may be necessary to completely remove the odor.
Sealing Cracks and Crevices: Smoke can linger in cracks and crevices, so sealing these areas can help prevent future issues.
Dealing with smoke smells can be challenging, but you can quickly restore a fresh and pleasant environment with the right approach. By ventilating your space, using natural and commercial products, and implementing preventative measures, you can effectively eliminate unwanted odors. If the smell persists, don’t hesitate to seek professional help. And remember, maintaining a clean and well-ventilated space is key to keeping smoke smells at bay. Try incorporating our exquisite range of perfumes and attars for an extra touch of freshness and elegance.

What does their bedroom look like?
It's at back of his shop. It's EXTREMELY neat aside from the unmade bed. There's about 4 blankets, a comforter and one pillow on it. The sheet is tucked in perfectly and it's grey. The comforter and the pillow are striped. There are 4 mugs, a few shot glasses, a bunch of paper and pens on the small desk that just about fit. The window is decent sized but the curtains are always closed. Everything is labeled and there's 2 to-go first aid kits and 3 to-go tech kits. There's also a bookshelf that takes up half a wall. The sink and the mirror is very clean. The nightstand is between the desk and the bed, 5 pairs of glasses in the drawer, and one change of clothes is on it (it looks almost exactly the same as what he's wearing). The wardrobe is full with half of the hanging clothes being things for undercover. Nothing matches in colour. 5. Cleanliness habits (personal, workspace, etc.)
Change clothes regularly (more than typical people in the wasteland), shower every day, nails clipped, always wears gloves when working unless it's necessary not to, googles always on when working.
Workspace... imagine a lab.
Shopfront is about the same as other wasteland gun shops. Huge display cabinet and glasses cleaned probably once a week. His eyeglasses are in a massive drawer. You can smoke in it but he'll ask you to put out the butt in an ashtray.
18. Favorite beverage?
Purified water... and coffee with sometimes one sugar sometimes not.
For alcohol he drinks shots. He does drink other things socially.

In this article, we'll take a closer look at the best accessories for cigarettes to help you maintain your health and improve the smoking experience.
Smokeless Ashtray: One of the most overlooked accessories for cigarette smokers is a smokeless ashtra
Smokeless Ashtray: One of the most overlooked accessories for cigarette smokers is a smokeless ashtray. These ashtrays work by preventing ash and smoke from escaping into the air while you smoke. This helps to reduce the amount of secondhand smoke that you and others around you are exposed to. Smokeless ashtrays come in a variety of sizes and designs, so you can find one that fits your needs.
Nicotine Gum: Another great accessory for cigarette smokers is nicotine gum. This can help you curb your cravings for nicotine without inhaling smoke into your lungs. Nicotine gum is available in different strengths, so you can start at a low dose and gradually reduce your nicotine intake over time.
Lighter Sleeve: If you use disposable lighters to light your cigarettes, you may have noticed that the plastic casing can become hot to the touch. A lighter sleeve is a simple accessory that slips over your lighter to prevent this issue. Not only does it protect your fingers from burns, but it also makes your lighter more comfortable to hold.
Cigarette Holder: A cigarette holder is a tube-like device that holds your cigarette and filters out some of the harmful smoke as you inhale. These accessories can reduce the amount of tar and nicotine that you inhale, making smoking less harmful to your health. Cigarette holders are available in different lengths and materials, so you can find one that suits your style.
Air Purifier: Finally, if you smoke indoors, an air purifier is a must-have accessory. These devices work by filtering the air and removing smoke particles, allergens, and other pollutants. By using an air purifier, you can reduce the amount of harmful chemicals in the air, making your indoor environment healthier.
Conclusion: Smoking may not be the healthiest activity, but there are accessories that can make it less harmful to your health. From smokeless ashtrays to nicotine gum, these accessories can help you maintain your health while still being able to enjoy smoking. So, if you're a smoker, consider investing in some of these accessories to help mitigate the damage caused by smoking.

01-03/03 The adventure begins
a.k.a the very unexpected start to our holiday. But we’ll get there. Let’s talk about the travel first.
It was surprisingly uneventful although incredibly long. I’m very happy we made the decision to sleep at Heathrow the night before our flight so we headed out on Wednesday evening right after I finished work. That being said- what a horrible idea to work the same day we’re leaving! More stressful than I like my days.
If you ever stay at Heathrow at the Thistle Hotel (as I think it belongs to them), I highly recommend travelling from Terminal 5 with the driverless Pods. It’s usually not free but the little car thing looks like a tic tac and is probably a lot more fun than it should be. I say usually not free because we got a free ride from them since our room had no hot water.
As we had an early morning and a long travel ahead of us, we ended up only having a quick drink at the hotel bar with the view of the runway (which I get way too excited about) and went to sleep.
Honestly the day of travel is already pretty much a blur. We woke up at 5am and spend good 30h either flying or waiting at airports (Zurich and Bangkok,- about 5h each). We didn’t manage to get much sleep as we were incredibly uncomfortable and Alex is also ill on top of that. So doing all that on almost no sleep is not ideal. By the time we got on our final flight to Chiang Mai I was barely standing but at least Alex got a small nap in Bangkok so it wasn’t too horrible.
We did pop outside the Bangkok airport to have a quick look around and something felt off to me. The air felt a lot more polluted than I remembered but I just figured- big city with millions of people, the air is bound to get a lot worse since the last time I was here was 10 years ago. Not a big deal right? Well it wasn’t a big deal until we were landing in Chiang Mai and it looked very foggy. I still didn’t think much about it because I know that Chiang Mai generally has pretty clean air and lots of green around it so like… Maybe it was raining and this was just fog? A fog bad enough that we couldn’t see the sun
Unfortunately, the driver picking us up from the airport ended up recommending face masks ‘because of the smoke’. Uhhhh what smoke? Well… Basically, what happens is that at some point between December and April, people up North burn all the crap on their fields to prepare them for new crops being sown. What this results in is SMOKE. And a lot of it. Apparently the pollution is about 23x the healthy amount. It’s recommended that people stay indoors, use air purifiers and definitely avoid going to the jungle as the fires are all over the place and pretty dangerous.
The annoying part is that Chiang Mai was the bit of our trip that I looked forward to the most and have been wanting to come here since my parents first visited around 2007. But predicting when the fires happen is not really that easy because we know someone who was here just couple weeks ago and they had no issues. Oh well, I suppose we’ll just have to visit again another time.
So running on 2h of sleep within the last 30+ hours, we had to come up with a new plan. First things first, we really needed a new hotel for tonight to be able to get some sleep and think straight again.
The one we originally booked was not only giving a bit of a sketch vibe (basically it very much looked like a hotel where English tourists come to party and hook up), but the insulation on the windows was non existent so we may as well be sleeping in an ashtray. Which is a recipe for a good chest infection without even considering that Alex has a pretty bad cold as it is. Also what in the world is this on the bedside table?
Thankfully my mum was on it while we had some dinner. She booked us a place a bit outside of Chiang Mai (where even the air outside was a little better). And although all direct flights down to Krabi (our next stop) were sold out, she found us one with couple hour layover in Bangkok. Two extra flights with stuffy sinuses (and therefore horrible earache on the plane) are not ideal but better than a chest infection! Off to have some well deserved sleep.

Very much a "I'm gonna sit here and smoke while you lick my boots and use you as human furniture/an ashtray, if I feel like it" type.
Jae once found out someone was afraid of fire, so they made him eat an entire book of fresh matches- Placed them one by one in the guy's mouth while lit and had him swallow them while calling the act ritualistic. 'Purifying'.
Has a cruel streak because it's a control thing for them. Hurt them before they can hurt you. Hold all the cards so you don't lose/wind up being taken advantage of, that sort of thing. Hate to make the whip=dom stereotype, but the boot fits.
And they torture ppl sure, but they know being nice is more effective. They play bad cop for awhile, but ultimately wants to almost be like the victim’s savior. Feeding them, cleaning them, patching them up. Break ‘em down to nothing, then build up the dependency/trust. It's enjoyable for Jae.

Au where they got together in law school. Foggy temporary takes up smoking and Matt won't kiss him until he quits.
I LOVE IT
Foggy makes a dying noise the second he walks into their apartmentbefore dropping his backpack on the floor and immediately climbing into Matt’slap where he’s sitting on the sofa, cupping his face in his hands to kiss himdeeply.
Matt could smell the smoke before he even opened the front doorbut being this close to it is much worse.
“You know that thing they say about kissing boys who smoke?” Matt asks, wrinkling his nose when Foggy pulls back.
“Yeah, yeah,” Foggy says, sighingand pulling him back in by the collar to press one more kiss to his mouthbefore climbing out of his lap. “Ashtrays. Whatever. I’ll drop em after thissemester’s over.”
“Gonna hold you to that,” Mattmutters, crossing his arms over his chest.
The semester ends in two weeks. He’s not sure he can take it.
*
Two weeks and three days later,Matt comes home to the smell of cigarette smoke in his home.
“What did I say?” Matt says, despairingly, and Foggyyelps when he drops the cigarette and it burns his fingers. Matt hears it dropto the ground six stories below.
“Technically,” Foggy says, “I amnot smoking in the apartment. I am mostly out the window.”
“You’re going to fall,” Mattsays, walking past him, “and I won’t miss you.”
“Aw, baby,” Foggy says, catching his wrist to pull him in. “Don’t be mad.”
“I’m not kissing you,” Mattsays, turning his face away when Foggy’s fingers graze his cheek.
“Seriously?” Foggy asks, laughing.
“Seriously,” Matt says, raisinghis eyebrows. “I’m not kissing you again until you quit smoking. I’m cuttingyou off.”
“I’m down to one a day,” Foggysays, lacing their fingers together.
“Then you won’t have to waitvery long,” Matt says, squeezing his hand and smiling.
*
It’s a full week before Foggycomes home lugging bags full of laundry, smelling like Matt’s detergent, anddrops them on the floor at Matt’s feet.
“I washed everything,” he declares.“My sins have been purified. I want to make out with my boyfriend now.”
“Let me smell your breath,”Matt says, pulling Foggy into his lap gently, holding his face in one hand.
His breath smells like pepperminttoothpaste and coffee and bagels. The smoke and chemicals is still in thebackground, somewhere, but it’s so much better: basically what Foggy always wasbefore his social party smoking became stress-induced smoking.
Matt gets a hand in Foggy’shair to kiss him roughly, with all the energy he’s been holding back because it’snever been easy to not kiss Foggy, and Foggy makes a pleased noise and tips him carefully onto his back so he can straddle Matt’s hips.
“Acceptable?” he asks.
“Yeah,” Matt says, grinning up at him. “Good job.”
