I was going to word this really pushily but then I realized that would be kinda rude. Anyways, Methods: The Detective Competition is a great visual novel, especially if you enjoy mysteries. The cast of characters is amazing, the art style is unique, and the mysteries are really well done. I highly recommend that you play it if you enjoy these kind of games! Also, I’ve talked to the dev a decent number of times, and they’re wonderful. Also, they confirmed that while they didn’t intend to make Ashdown autistic at the time of writing the game, it is definitely a reading that makes sense, so that’s a bonus!

The mice of Kenwald forest don't have a really centralized government, despite fairly wide cooperation. Rather, they've organized themselves into a collection of seven large City-States. These cities are built to the mice's scale, of course, and as such often make use of natural features for infrastructure and protection.

The city-state of Ashdown is the youngest city in the setting--just under 400 years old--and spans the Rondorwael, the vast fjord that cuts the forest in half. Almost half a kilometer long, it was originally cut from a single tree that had been felled to cross the gorge, but over time the mice built around it, and down on the fjord's slopes.

As the most convenient way to cross the Rondorwael, Ashdown is an economic powerhouse. It also happens to be the centre of the Church of the Merciful Dark, Kenwald's dominant religion.

Ashdown Has A "Message" To Convey In Newest Single Sharing an experience, whether it be a feeling or a notion, with other people is what music is all about. Ashdown manages to do all of this and more with his latest track. The song "Message," which is a reflective but ultimately upbeat take on his struggles in the past, is meant to be a message to the artist's future self. The fact that this rendition of the song is so dissonant raises the questions "Why?" and "How?" because it so accurately conveys the genuine meaning and intention of the song. His voice is incredible, and he has a wonderful sound to it. The innovative way in which he interprets each lyric is at the heart of his tremendous talent as a musician. Ashdown's lyrics in the soothing Pop/RnB track revealed his emotional struggle with stagnation and a plea for assistance. Ashdown, a singer, composer, and record producer who grew up in the British capital, takes a song and gives it new life through his distinctive singing style and extensive musical training. Ashdown is predominantly a singer, but his penchant for writing infectious Pop songs with a British touch has given him a distinct sound, especially when he teams up with electronic dance music producers. Imagine Paige Ashdown (the girl that was horrible to Ty and Dru in their childhood) saying something about how she would try her luck with Kit and Dru overhears her and says „Sorry to disappoint, but I’m sure he isn‘t interested“ and Paige (arrogant as she is) goes „And how would you know? He surely isn‘t interested in you“ and then Dru just smiles and replies „That would surely be weird, considering he‘s in love with my older brother Ty.“

Can we please just talk about there friendship for a moment?? There literally so underrated.

So much of the stuff in the infernal devices gets completely undermined due to the phenomenal romance but one thing I’d really like to point out is the friendship these two had.

In a moment when Tessa had no friends or female friends Sophie was so kind to her! I think it’s so nice that throughout the novel they both had each others back consistently.

Here’s the thing I need people to understand:

Even if we believe that the (entirely unproven and far too politically convenient) pre-contract story between Edward IV and Eleanor Talbot was true, it doesn’t actually matter. Even if it was hypothetically true, there was still no reason why Edward V – who was already King at that point and was referred to as such – couldn’t have been able to succeed his father regardless.

David Horspool (Richard's own historian) summarizes it better than I could, so I’m just quoting him here:

"[Richard also made] no allowance for any potential solution to the problem that might have re-legitimized Edward V and his siblings. These included securing a retrospective canonical or papal judgement of the invalidity of the pre-contract; an Act of Parliament legitimizing the children of Edward and Elizabeth Woodville’s marriage, as happened to Henry VIII’s variously tainted offspring; or even ignoring the issue and proceeding to the coronation of Edward V, which would legitimize him by making him the Lord’s anointed, and render allegations of his bastardy as newer versions of the old tittle-tattle about his father."

In short, even if Edward IV truly had a pre-contract with Eleanor Talbot, and even if all of his children with Elizabeth Woodville were supposedly illegitimate, it should by no means prevent Edward V from succeeding his father to the throne. If Richard truly wanted to support his nephew, he had a variety of useful and entirely workeable options to choose from. Instead, he officially declared his nieces and nephews (including a literal 3-year-old) illegitimate, kept Edward V and his even younger brother confined in the Tower of London, and declared himself King.

Why didn't Richard take these actions, all of which he would have been well aware of? As Horspool says simply: "that Richard took none of these courses was because he had no interest in doing so."

The ONLY conclusion we can come to based on Richard's actions is summarized most succinctly by A.J Pollard:

"The truth of the matter is that Richard III did not want Edward V to be legitimate because he did not want him to be king."
