Ash having a crush on goh and like it's been there since somtime around when they first met but he's only just now realizing that his feeling arnt as platonic as he thought

And like this is after jn so they've already gone Separate ways and they won't see eachother in person for a while.

And then goh who had proably liked ash around maybe the ivysaur? I dunno haven't decided when his crush would have started but that not important just know he's had it pretty long

But he thinks ash doesn't feel the same wich i think could be a reason that he wanted to go on his own journey because he wants to get over his crush and being around him isn't going to really help with him getting over it? It's not his only reason but it's a part of it

So while he's on his journey him and Gary fall in love or whatever

So like by the time they do get to meet up again ash prolly knows by now that there goh and Gary are dating or he can tell they like eachother somthing like that

So he never tells goh cause he doesn't want to ruin there possible relationship for feeling that most likely arnt Reciprocated

in a pokemon high school AU, who (any characters you can think of) would be who? in like school roles/hierarchy?/ the classic mean girls, student council, nerd, jock, etc

sorry i took a bit to answer i was giving it some real thought lol never really thought of this. 😂

anyways! i think the student council and nerds would be the same people that being gary, clemont, goh, and i can see chloe, iris and the alolan girls being in that mix too lmaoo.

i could see ash, and kiawe / misty, and may being more in the sports groups.

ritchie, kenny and drew would definitely be in the music/theater groups.

todd, trip and zoey would be in the yearbook committee. possibly even serena would like that stuff!

i think paul would be the classic outsider who skates and has his headphones in all day ignoring the world around him lmao.

as for mean girls?? i can only think of ursula who (i think) is a cannon mean girl lmaoo. but i think that’s the only one that i can think of.

to channel in some palletshipping, gary and ash would be dating and be so nerd x sporty boy coded. 🫶🏻

As a faithful Palletshipper who regularly uses AO3, I am so unbelievably heartbroken and disappointed that there are twice as less fanfictions of Ash x Gary than there are of Journeyshipping. Idk why, maybe because Journeyshipping was new and so interesting at the time that there was probably a boom of Ash x Goh fanfics. It also makes me kinda sad knowing that some former Palletshippers no doubt fell out of it in favor of Journeyshipping (I say this cuz I've encountered one), but I guess it's just me being petty. Idk, I guess it really bummed me out considering Gary was Ash's very first best friend (before Pikachu) and rival, therefore I thought there'd at least be more fanfics of them on AO3. No hate or disrespect against Journeyshipping or any other relationships Ash gets paired up with, but when I read a recent Palletshipping fanfic and checked the tag, it shocked me wayyy more than it should have.

Anyway, thanks for hearing me vent like a pathetic little brat who didn't get their way. I just wanted to let it out before I combusted.

Maybe like two people would care but how I wish Gary x Goh was a bit more popular. Their dynamic it's so fun it's just nerd on nerd violence.

And also because I LOVE how gremlin Goh is when he is around Gary. Later in the season he is mostly a really thoughtful sweet boy towards Ash. And that's great but I was missing his sassiness from the first episodes and then Gary comes and he is just throwing hilarious fits and being more himself. In a way I feel like Goh didn't care if Gary saw the ugly parts of himself, meanwhile he is a bit more careful to show that with Ash.
