What's the silliest thing you've been sent out to respond to as a Ranger?

honestly, most of the calls i answer as a ranger are for relatively frivolous things. since i'm a volunteer, i take a lot of non-emergency calls so that full-time rangers can prioritize more time-sensitive calls. i do a lot of house calls for pokemon removal, diagnosing "sick/orphan" wild pokemon (the vast majority of these are perfectly healthy or do not need to be human-raised), or stylering a pokemon to remove a minor inconvenience.

i think the first call i got that really annoyed me was when i got sent to handle an "emergency" that ended up being...a guy wanting me to get a psychic type pokemon to carry out his trash because he let it pile up too much and it was "too heavy". and then he wanted me to styler a bounsweet so his garbage can wouldn't smell so bad. that was not my favorite day.

i think guardian signs has such a good mechanic for gamers with brain fog: i can check exactly what my main quest goal is in detail. it even tells me why I'm doing something too. it's not just a quest marker it's instead like "you did x, you discovered y, you are doing z" and i find that really helpful

what's the most feel-good ranger call you've gotten?

it's hard to place any one particular instance...but i really like when young traveling trainers call us, because if they're close enough to artazon for their call to go to a volunteer like me, it's usually because they're just a little lost or they're feeling overwhelmed. they're always the happiest to see me. it's the kind of look of relief you get from people in an emergency, when it's actually something pretty easy to handle. i've done everything from give hugs to make sandwiches to help call up parents when a phone gets broken.

one that does stick with me is the time i got called in to help a student from the academy on their first treasure hunt. they'd gotten lost in the canyons leading from mesagoza to artazon because they'd strayed off the main path- not too uncommon, and we usually just remind them to be careful and use their map next time. but when i got there, it turned out that the reason they'd gone off the path was to help an injured shinx that they saw limping, and by the time they caught up, they couldn't figure out where they were and panicked. by the time i got there, the shinx was licking tears off their face. it was really sweet. the trainer ended up taking the shinx along with them on their journey once it healed up!

Watched a rookie mechanic (sitting basically inside the hood of a vehicle) scream FUCK! and throw a funnel across the yard because it wasn't fitting in the engine to let her put oil into the Oil Hole.
