What would you argue are your top favorite Ghibli movies? Given all the gorgeous men you draw, I’d guess Howl’s Moving Castle might be one, but I’d love to hear your faves and reasons you enjoy them so much.

hello! i see you've noticed i enjoy the Big Shirt Tight High Waisted Pants combination

actually my favourites are Princess Mononoke and Castle in the Sky, i enjoy HMC for its visuals but i wish there was a bit more explained about the setting (but also i usually listen to these in the background so it's probably my fault for not paying enough attention, and also i can just google it)

i think my favourite thing about Princess Mononoke was that it deals with the multifaceted nature of people and feelings (lady eboshi was good to her people, san acknowledges her feelings for and against people and ashitaka respects her choice etc.) and Castle in the Sky is just a good time and good music. i really like the theme of the ending song too (the world goes on, the earth goes round, and time will carry us back to each other)

I also really enjoyed the Cat Returns for the same reasons as Castle in the Sky

So, I find the Bode criticism from friends and family less obnoxious than the Cordell haranguing because their situations are different. But, it can get annoying at times. I hated how Walker had Cordell's kids breaking off and interfering in his job of all things. Like, the guy was a ranger doing very serious work and his kids were like, "lol, I’m going to show up on my dad's secret mission and then be butthurt when he pretends not to know me and tells me to leave for my own protection." Ugh.

On fire country, at least almost everyone is a fire fighter, too. So, it’s less grating when they worry about. Bode. At least to me. And at least other characters get some of the shit, not just him.

But yes. I hope Camden is a good, non stifling, influence on Bode. And if Jared sticks around or gets a spinoff, I hope Camden isn’t nearly as beaten down as Cordi.

Oh god yeah let Camden be a strong character, I love Jared but I want him to play someone who is confident and not constantly beaten down on
