What Does Baby Oil Do For Your Skin
A. 17 Uses for Baby Oil That Will Save You Money
See why this baby softener belongs to the home of every financially experienced adult. The next time you need to loosen, soften, shine, shave or make a noise, try baby oil. The lightly scented mineral oil is suitable for numerous applications that have nothing to do with babies. In fact, having baby oil eliminates the need to buy a variety of disposable products, which are often more expensive. Below are more than a dozen uses of baby oil that can save money.
1. Bath oil
I poured baby oil into the bathtub to soften my tired winter skin.
Note: You must then use a cleaning agent for the bathtub, otherwise the next bather may slip and fall through the oily residue.
2. Moisturizer
Don’t you want to scrub a bathtub with oil after each bath to enjoy baby oil? Dry the towel immediately after bathing, then apply a little baby oil to damp skin to retain moisture.
3. Shaving gel replacement
Before shaving, use a thin layer of baby oil instead of foam or shaving gel (or soap) on your legs.
4. Wax aid
If you shave eyebrows, legs or other parts of the body, use a little baby oil afterwards to remove any remaining wax.
5. Eye make-up remover
A cotton ball moistened with baby oil takes care of the eyeshadow and eyeliner without irritating sensitive skin.
6. Temporary tattoo remover
Junior came home from a birthday party with screaming superhero tattoos? Rub them with a little baby oil.
7. Cuticle oil
Sushmita Munda writes on makeupandbeauty.com that she uses baby oil on her hands when she does her nails. Of course, there is a product called “cuticle oil”, but she never buys it.
8. Lip scrub
Munda also does a lip scrub by mixing 1 teaspoon of baby oil, ½ teaspoon of sugar and a few drops of lemon juice. She rubs lightly on her lips every night before bed to remove dead skin.
9. Detergent massage
Baby oil is a cheap alternative to massage oil or cream.
10. Softener for scaly feet
Do your feet look like lizards in winter? Apply some baby oil before bed, then put on plain white socks. While you sleep, the skin on your feet becomes very soft.
11. Ring loosener
Were your hands swollen from pregnancy or air travel? Pour a little baby oil on the swollen finger and gradually loosen the ring.
12. Paint remover
Do you have latex paint on your hands or arms after painting a room? It can rub immediately or become embedded in the ankles and other skin folds. A post on Instructables.com recommended massaging paint splashes with baby oil in a circular motion.
13. Squeaky hinge lubricant
A drop or two should do the trick – and baby oil smells much better than WD-40.
14. Bandage remover
Is it time to change the patch on your child’s knee? Saturate with oil and wait for a while; The patch should come off immediately, without pain.
15. Price sticker remover
If you can’t remove a sticker from something made of glass, porcelain or plastic, apply some baby oil and wait a while. The sticker should come off much easier.
Note: Do not do this on any fabric or paper, as the oil may discolor.
16. Polishing the golf club
Depending on which golf enthusiast you are talking about, you can protect and polish your clubs with gun oil, WD-40, special golf club polishers, petroleum jelly, a silicone gun cloth or, yes, baby oil.
17. Milling oil
If you have a paper shredder – and you should – things go well with the occasional lubrication. Place a few pieces of paper on a baking sheet and spread some baby oil. As soon as the paper absorbs the oil, pass it through the paper shredder.
B. 6 Ways You Can Include Baby Oil In Your Daily Beauty Routine
Basically, baby oil is just mineral oil. It is extracted from oil and is used in almost all types of skin products, such as moisturizers and perfumes. Contrary to popular belief, baby oil is not a panacea for all skin problems under the sun. The theory has resulted in women being misinformed about its use, and that is where we come in. Here are five ways to safely incorporate baby oil into your beauty routine and what you should know about it.
1. Moisturizer
Baby oil can be used as a moisturizer, especially in areas of dry skin that need to be healed. The application is very similar to that of babies; Do this from the shower when your skin is still damp. In this way, the oil penetrates deeply into the skin while the pores are still open. Although baby oil is perfectly safe as a non-toxic alternative to other creams, it is not advisable to use it on your face. Baby oil tends to clog pores and cause acne when used on the face. You should continue to use it as a body oil. However, make sure that it is a fragrance-free product as it can cause problems for sensitive skin.
2. Makeup remover
If you are a fan of the oil cleaning method, this tip is for you. Baby oil can be used as a makeup remover as it helps to dissolve makeup and residue. Just massage a thin layer of oil on your face and dry with a cotton towel. Always use a facial wash to wash any residue thoroughly. Baby oil can also be used to make makeup corrections during application. Use a cotton swab to clean up any unstable lines or accidental stains. Make sure to avoid the eye area
3. Foot care
Baby oil contains the rejuvenating and relaxing properties of vitamin E, making it perfect for skin problems such as cracked heels and elbows. Heat the oil and use it to do a pedicure at home or as a daily moisturizer for your feet. Always wear socks to prevent oily sheets and slips
4. Cuticle care
Cuticle care is a highly underestimated form of self-care, especially if you work a lot with your hands. Dry cuticles can cause unnecessary burning and pain if left untreated. This is where baby oil can be useful. If you don’t want to spend your money on expensive cuticle oils, get a bottle of baby oil to keep them hydrated. Dip a cotton swab in the oil and apply to fingers and nails. Massage the oil into the nail bed. So doing it also gives you a healthy, shiny-looking nail, which is a great bonus
5. Shaving oil
I don’t normally leave a razor near me to remove my hair. I hate it when it grows back with thorns and I don’t like the feeling of shaving creams and foams on my body. I make an exception when baby oil is available. Instead of a cream, apply to the oil and shave. It provides a much closer shave and keeps the skin smooth in the process. It can also be used after epilation to remove any wax residue and soothe the skin
6. Miscellaneous
In addition to the obvious uses, having a bottle of baby oil next to the bedside table can help you in several ways. Broken elbows? Massage in a drop to moisturize overnight. In combination with sunscreen, it can act as a tanning oil. Although they do not contain active ingredients that act against stretch marks, they can be used to keep skin smooth and hydrated and to prevent future lines and wrinkles.
C. Can I Use Baby Oil on My Face?
Baby oil has been on the market for over 100 years and has long been a staple in parents’ kindergartens. It is a clear liquid made from mineral oil and petroleum-based fragrances. According to Johnson & Johnson, baby oil can be applied to the baby’s skin before a massage. It can also help to soothe a baby’s dry skin, especially when used when the skin is already moist with water, for example, after a bath.
Baby oil forms a semi-breathable barrier on the skin. This barrier already retains moisture on the skin’s surface. Some adults also use baby oil on the body to soothe dry skin. Some swear that it gives the skin of the face a special smoothness and shine. People also use baby oil on many other parts of the body, on their hair and as a lubricant. According to a limited amount of research, baby oil may have the ability to increase and soften the skin. Here’s what you need to know if you’re thinking about applying it to your face.
1. Is baby oil good for your face?
Baby oil is hypoallergenic and free of parabens, phthalates and dyes. This means that it is safe for most people to lie on their skin without fear of allergic reactions.
There is a limited amount of scientific research on how baby oil affects the skin and little research on how it affects the face. Based on available research, baby oil is safe for your skin, including the skin on your face.
a. Can you use baby oil as a facial moisturizer?
Baby oil is not comedogenic, which means it does not clog your skin pores. So if you have a dry or normal skin type, you can use baby oil to keep your face hydrated. In a 1993 Trusted Source study, scientists tested four different common moisturizing ingredients to see how they affected people’s skin. One was mineral oil, an important ingredient in baby oil. In comparison to ethanol, glycerin and water, water and baby oil appear to have the greatest moisturizing effect of all ingredients when applied to the skin. Scientists have found that mineral oil has helped to make the skin fatter and to make it more hydrated.
b. Does baby oil reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks?
There is no direct research to show that baby oil can reduce the appearance of facial scars and stretch marks on the body. The same 1993 study by ResearchTrusted Source, which found that baby oil is an effective moisturizer, suggests that this claim is probably true. Most scars and stretch marks are cut on the skin. The application of baby oil can thicken the skin in these areas and reduce the overall appearance of scars and stretch marks. An older study from 1975 found that the effects of baby oil disappeared 48 hours after use. It must be reapplied to keep the skin looking moist and plump.
c. Does baby oil relieve skin discomfort?
The researchers found some evidence that baby oil can help relieve skin conditions, including those associated with dry skin and diseases like psoriasis. According to a 2012 study of people on hemodialysis, baby oil helped to significantly reduce itching when rubbed on the itchy body part for at least 15 minutes a day for 3 weeks.
2. Can you put baby oil on your face at night?
You can apply baby oil to your face at any time of the day or night to wake you up with smoother, fleshier skin. However, avoid doing this if you are prone to acne, as this can make the situation worse.
3. Unproven claims
Most claims about baby oil, in addition to its moisturizing and fatty properties, have not been proven. Here’s what you should know:
a. Can baby oil treat acne on your face?
There is no evidence that using baby oil can treat acne. Although many people can apply baby oil to their face without increasing the risk of acne, it should be avoided if you have acne-prone skin. Even though baby oil itself does not clog pores, the barrier it forms on the skin can retain dirt and oil that enter the pores and worsen acne.
b. Can baby oil remove makeup?
There is no clear evidence that baby oil can be used to remove makeup. However, many people do this anecdotally. Because it is considered safe to use, it is unlikely to harm you. However, if you have acne-prone skin, avoid applying baby oil to your face.
c. Can you use it instead of shaving cream?
There is no research to suggest that baby oil is a suitable replacement for shaving cream. However, regular use of baby oil can moisturize and soften the skin, making shaving easier.
4. Possible side effects of using baby oil on the face
Baby oil is generally safe to use. However, there are some side effects that you should be aware of when trying to use it on your face. These possible side effects include:
a. Allergic reaction
Research has shown that an allergic reaction to mineral oil, a common ingredient in baby oil, is very rare. However, if you have sensitive skin and are concerned about the possibility of reacting, consider applying a small amount to another, less visible part of your body. Wait 24 hours to see if you have a reaction. If you don’t notice any redness or irritation, it’s safe to apply it to your face.
b. Trigger Escape
Baby oil was developed to be non-comedogenic. Therefore, it does not clog pores, although it can cause acne in people prone to skin rashes.
c. Inability to sweat
Baby oil forms a barrier on the skin. Therefore, on a hot day, it can retain a lot of moisture. This makes it harder for you to sweat, as your body naturally tries to calm down.
5. How to use baby oil on your face
If you want to apply baby oil to your face, do the following:
Wash your face with a mild detergent or soap.
Dry and leave a little moisture on the skin surface.
Inject a small amount of baby oil into your hand.
Gently massage the oil on your face with your fingertips.
6. Alternative home remedies for facial skin
Baby oil is a synthetic product. Vegetable oils are a more natural choice for skin care. If you are looking for alternative oils to soften and smooth your face, consider these more natural options:
Almond oil is a mild moisturizing oil. It is ideal for people with dry and sensitive skin.
Argan oil is a perfect facial oil for people with normal skin. It is moisturizing and full of vitamins that can protect your face from the sun and other skin damage.
Jojoba oil is great for people with oily skin. It is light and moisturizing, but also reduces oiliness.
Rosehip oil works well for people with acne-prone skin. This oil is moisturizing, but it also contains fatty acids that reduce redness and disappear acne scars.
7. Summary
Baby oil is a popular skin care product, originally developed for babies, but it is also used by adults. It can help to increase, soften and moisturize the skin, retaining moisture from the face and the whole body. Although it is a synthetic oil, it is quite mild and rarely causes allergic reactions. However, if you have acne-prone skin, this product should not be applied to your face as it can cause skin rashes. In addition, if you want to opt for a more natural facial oil, there are many vegetable oils for all skin types.

Aaaaah your skincare hc 💜 i'm dealing with some really bad acne rn and reading that was amazing. Can you write skincare hcs for 1a girls too? (And also the best girl hatsume mei if it's not too much) 💖
OMIGOD FIRST REQUEST BSDJJRJTJ YOU GOT IT BBY LETS GO-
Toru:
I got her hcs while I was in the shower coincidentally enough.
Okay surprisingly for someone who you can't see, she really REALLY cares about her looks. It's really sad but she's actually super insecure despite being invisible
Loves any sort of face mask that has animals or cute things on it!! Cute, cute, cute!! She especially loves those little fruit shaped masks that you slap on different parts of your face like hgsvgbd please-
Actually has really oily skin, which is purely the cause of her insecurities. Someone please compliment this girl on her skin for gosh sakes-
Uses foam and oil cleansers to gently try and control her acne. Then uses a really light daycream with included sun protection when it's both day and night. She uses it at night because she gets scared that her night cream will be too much for her face. Better to go lighter.
OH MY GOD SHE LOVES HOT SPRINGS. P L E A S E. She enjoyed the camp so much because it made her pores open up and made it easier to clean!!
Uses those peel off pore masks on her nose, chin and upper lip. Hurts her sometimes, you can usually see her cry a bit when she takes them off.
Uses tweezers to clean up her eyebrows and upper lip. Hurts a lot, but she manages. Puts aloe vera after.
Detoxing is important! Sometimes she goes on a vegan diet for a week so that her acne gets a bit better. Only drinks water during that time too!
UGH GET THIS GIRL SOME PINK GRAPEFRUIT BODY SCRUB AND SHE'LL LITERALLY LOVE YOU FOREVER JUST OMG G R A P E F R U I T
In general she enjoys smelling like things you can eat! Mainly fruits, so Toru generally smells like berries or citrus.
Uses a stick deodorant that's organic. Hates the feeling of clinical deodorants.
Ajdjsjjjf acne needles? Yes. She uses them. Doesn't wanna get acne scars and this is more hygienic than actually popping pimples with your fingers. She really takes great care when it comes to her skin.
Ochaco:
Ochaco is literally me when I spent all my money on food :')
Cheap as hell. Obviously. This means CHEAP BEAUTY HACKS!
Ochaco has normal skin thankfully enough, but she does get some bad days with acne. Happens.
Cheap means you make your own stuff. Instead of buying exfoliating scrubs, Ochaco makes her own by buying oatmeal, apples, raw honey, cinnamon, and lemon juice. She puts this all in a food processor, letting it become a thick paste. Before she puts it on her face, she puts in a bit of sugar and tada!!! Smooth, soft, baby skin!
Another thing she makes is cucumber and banana ice-cubes for her dark eyebags. She grabs some cucumber, mushes it half a banana and then puts them into an ice-tray. Then whenever she has dark eyebags, she busts out these bad boys and voìla!
Is a hoe for 5 minute-crafts stuff. They're usually cheap and work for her really well, so now she heccing worships it like a g O d.
Doesn't really understand makeup? She might only use some eyeshadow and eyeliner. Possibly chapstick if she has some.
Makes her own lipscrubs though! Sugar and honey make a beautiful scrub for her lips, she rubs and licks it off happily to reveal velvet, plush lips ready for kissing! ;)
Really good at making cute diy beauty stuff!! She once made this clear lip balm that had a dry flower inside. She actually sold some! She was so proud of herself.
Oh gosh if you give Ochaco expensive Burberry Her perfume that smells sweet and sugary she will cry because she is so grateful for that. It's her FAVOURITE smell. Otherwise, she smells like faint roses.
Uses spray deodorant on hot days and stick deodorant on cold days. Spray deodorant is such a perk up when she's been sweating from training.
If there's a sale on skincare products, you'd best believe Ochaco sits there in the morning in front of the shop to get all the best stuff first. She will actually kill someone if that try and take the last item on the shelf which is on sale, especially if it's like 50% off. She'd tear some limbs. O_o
Prefers liquid soap over soap bars, but buys soap bars more often because they're cheaper and easier to stock. Just please get her some moderately priced things god this girl NEEDS PAMPERING OKAY???
Momo:
Bro you know how gay I am for this girl like dude I LOVE HER OKAY???
Completely and utterly clueless when it comes to skincare.
Never gets acne??? Like ever??? I'm so jealous it's SO UNFAIR. Does get dry skin though.
Uses those 24 carat gold face masks because they look pretty and make her face freakin GLOW LIKE A GODDESS.
Uses peel off masks, but more for dead skin. Hurts much less and she just heccing emits rays of sunlight.
Uses sunscreen a lot though. She's really prone to getting sunburnt, and she can't get a tan, which makes her kinda sad. Cancer is too scary to get a tan over.
Likes body and hand creams too much for her own good. Has a whole collection of them which all have a variety of smells and textures so her body and hands and just her skin is normally soft and silky and just hafdjskrjkt-
Has to use coffee scrubs and body oil since she has stretch marks from developing super fast. She's really insecure about it and hates that part of herself a lot tbh. Please praise her I beg you.
Loves to sit in a hot bath with rose petals. Spa treatment is all he knows about skincare really.
Has like four perfumes she normally uses. One is a sweet smelling perfume that has soft sugary notes that make you drool. The second smells like delicate roses with dewdrops from the morning mist. The second smells like berries and forests, as if you're about to pick some yourself. The last one smells like the pandan leaves with mangoes. Basically, Momo smells like paradise.
Actually loves buying cheap lip-glosses and lipsticks!! Her favourite is this shimmery golden lipgloss which changes colour depending on the light that she's in. Only uses it on very special occasions though. Otherwise, her best one is usually a moderately red lipstick or a cute red tinted lipgloss which just slightly colours her lips. Makes her lips so adorably kissable. (I'm gay for her okay shut up-)
Okay, we all know for a fact Momo be thicc. But she doesn't really like it honestly. Her thicc comes from cellulite and it's so gross to her. Uses a stiff, dry brush to move the fat around a by so she's more evened out in thiccness.
Mina:
Pink alien queen!
Acid comes out of her skin daily, this means really dry skin. Dry like sometimes peel off dry. It's really bad.
Just like Toru, really cares about skincare. Although a little less than Toru but still.
Toners are her best friends because her pores sometimes open up due to her quirk. Acid can damage them sometimes too, so mild, hydrating toners are great for skin like her's.
HAND CREAM AAAAAAAAAAA
Whilst she isn't rich enough to have a bunch of handcream like Momo, she has this specific handcream that smells like candy and marshmallows. It's. So. Good. Also makes her hands soft and silky like gahdhhd-
Cream is also a good friend of hers. Uses both night and day cream to make sure her skin stays plump and hydrated!
Uses potato slices instead of cucumbers so that her dark eyebags aren't too bad. She normally doesn't get em so this rarely happens.
Also uses lots of vanilla and almond body cream. Soft and silky skin that can make anyone want to hug her. (IM SO GAY SHUT UP)
Uses lip masks! Loves those Korean or Japanese candy ones! They really leave her lips luscious for any kisses!
Speaking about Korean and Japanese stuff, SHE ADORES THEM.
Korean stuff the most! They always provide her with great results, so they're her go to when she has a really dry day. Loves using their hydration masks!
Uses lip tattoos because she hates the feeling of lipgloss or lipstick. Plus, it doesn't leave a mark.
Mina also thicc, but she's more of a muscular thicc than fat thicc. This means she needs to use body oil to make sure her thighs and skin are tight and smooth.
She uses lasers to get rid of her hairs. Somehow her hairs are immune to her acid. She uses laser treatment to make sure she doesn't have to deal with it often. You wouldn't even know she has hair tbh because of the treatment.
Mina smells like coconuts and sea-salt with a hint of lime or mint depending on her mood. She smells like what'd you smell in a 5 star island resort as you walk on the white sandy beaches and sit in the bar watching the sunset go down on the horizon just hhh-
Feet are baby smooth?? Dunno why. They're just naturally soft and beautiful and shfhd when she rubs her feet against your legs it's so soft it's like she rubbed petals on your legs-
Speaking about petals! She loves having baths with either bubbles or petals with some candles to calm down. Definitely after a hard day of training!! Don't disturb!
Tsu:
I CAN'T DO MUCH FOR TSU IM SORRY
Tsu literally doesn't use skin items at all.
She has a normal skin type and also never gets acne somehow???? Like bro hecc tell me your ways.
She's not clueless about it like Momo, but she just has no use for it since her skin's just kinda perfect like hello what-
She is a frog though, so she really need that moisture!! Jacuzzi baths are like her favourite thing.
Ooh, also really likes those clay masks! That's the only skincare item she actually uses to be real with y'all.
Okay okay hear me out though, Tsu is a hoe for those kiddie slime baths. Like I'm not even kidding she loves it so hecking much but she would never admit it in any lifetime.
Also really loves it if you get her a whole big bag of those resin pellets that turn into those little jelly balls and she just goes into a bath of those??? Gosh yes paradise hecc
Smells like a dewy forest with hints of citrus and earthy tones. She's got that scent that's really unique and like you can walk by with a blindfold and point her out by smell alone.
Oops by the way she really enjoys having cucumbers on her eyes. She has natural eyebags, so she normally counters it with both cucumber and potato slices.
There's a secret tradition that runs in her family to get rid of wrinkles. They steam a small, knobbly hand towel with warm water and then rub it in circular motions on their face slowly going upwards. Works really heccing well.
Honestly, Tsu doesn't really care about her looks. Skincare or makeup for her is just an additional bother that she has to deal with.
Her skin is never pruney. Makes sense why though.
Mei:
Eyy because you asked so nicely! Tbh to me Camie from Shiketsu is best girl but like okay Mei is qt-
She's always covered in grime and dirt, so she actually gets acne daily. She just has really great skin routines!
Has a combination skin type, her forehead is the oiliest compared with the rest of her far though. Yuck.
When she stops tinkering (haha when does she do that-), she immediately goes and washes her face with an oil face wash. It helps properly cleanse her pores from all the grime and dirt that was on her face.
Sometimes, she has a really grimy day, so she uses a harsh clay wash just to make sure EVERYTHING IS OUT. Then uses a hydrating toner and a very light daycream!
Exfoliates every two weeks to make sure her skin isn't gross. Skin cells need to turn over every two weeks, so she makes sure she does that or she'll literally have pimples scattered on her forehead.
Is a popper. She hates seeing pimples and immediately pops them on site with some gloves. Then puts a miniscule dab of antiseptic cream so that it don't come back and spread.
Mei smells like petrol. Literally. When she stays out of the lab for a week though, she actually smells like caramel and cotton candy.
Has calluses on her from tinkering so much. She doesn't like it. Please trace and caress them gently and she'll love you.
She uses body oil because it feels more normal than body cream. Can lead her to being clumsy because she sometimes sloshes it on her body and then she has to wait a while before she can actually do things.
Salt block. Hates deodorant. Masks the smell of grime in the lab and she LIVES for that smell.
Uses charcoal face masks to relax and detox. Helps her think of her next baby to create as well, so bonus!
Likes going to those floating pods. They're really relaxing and make her feel at ease in the world.
Bubble baths are a no no. She had a really bad experience with them once when she tried to make a bubble telescope and put it to her eye. Let's just say she used to be able to see farther…
She enjoys using lipgloss though! Her lips smell like cake or cookie dough even though they're normally coloured in a neutral pink or a soft red. Even tastes like strawberries and cream.
Takes hecking great care of her hands. Her hands are meticulously the most gorgeous part of her. They're soft, velvety, and while they are callused, it only adds to its perfections and they're just so stunningly manicured and she does it all by herself like oh my god her hands are just bdbdkfgjfk-
Since anon has some bad acne, I actually have some advice since I myself care a heck ton about my skin.
Oil based face wash goes incredibly well with a foam cleanser. Using both gets rid of all the dirt, oil, makeup and residue in your pores. Best stuff and keeps me clear.
EXFOLIATE PLEASE!! Get one of those cute exfoliating scrubs or literally make the one Ochaco uses. They're really important to do because your dead skin cells can cause more acne and bumps.
When you have bad acne, I suggest using only light daycreams after you wash your face because night creams can be too much. Also use a nice organic toner so that your pores are tight and can't get much dirt or gross things during the day/night.
Charcoal is the best face mask for detoxing and decreasing oil levels. But don't use it when you have pimples. It can actually cause more pimples to come because you're stripping your ace of the natural oils it needs.
That said, make sure to wash your face at least twice a day! Thrice is okay too, but four is too much. Make sure to moisturise immediately after too!
Sunscreen is so important. Get yourself a face cream that has at least an SPF of 30. Please. Cancer is real and the sun's rays can make you seem to age faster.
Woof, that was a loooot. Next time, please be specific with characters anon! I didn't mind, but I normally only do about 3 characters. I'm not doing much yet so this is cool but yeah. Thank you so much for requesting though and ACKEJKRKN YOU'RE A CUTIE ILY THANK YOU FOR LOVING MY WORK!!
I also realised I missed out Jiro T_T I might edit her in later but really I found her and Tsu the hardest to talk about skincare with because they're my really girls who care about how they look. They're just cuties.
#mha#hcs#skincare#ochaco#uraraka#momo#yaoyorozu#Mina#ashido#Tsu#Toru#Mei#Hatsume#bnha#I realise i didn't do jiro#im too tired#its 1am danggit I'll do hers specially later

product empties
aka i’m a trash hoarder
dude, so i’ve always had in the back of my head that i was going to be a beauty-type youtuber someday. that seemed to be something for the distant future. i didn’t think that i would be really working on it right now, but here i am.
the reason why it’s now is because not only did i make a new years resolution to post at least one youtube vid a month for 2020 but the trash that i had been collecting in a drawer (to use for a future empties video) was now causing said drawer to close with difficulty. the time had come for my empties to be videod.
truthfully i didn’t think i had that much. it was only when i was taking things out of the drawer did i realize that drawer’s capacity was a good ton! ... i’m not proud of my trash pile, but now at least it’s not taking up real estate in my dresser and all the months of hoarding won’t go to waste.
that’s my trash. so aesthetic. i love my clashing bedding too, just adds to my vibez.
i took some other (just as beautiful) pix to show off my brag-worthy trash collection.
hair body and mouth/dental care. some edibles (not the weed type :().
edibles continued. then some face cleansers and wipers.
beauty wipes and some makeups. a hand sanitizer spray that i completely forgot about. it dried before i could use it even half way.
face products: cleansers, moisturizers, some makeuts.
mas makeuts.
here’s my ish all over again so you can really take in the beauty. i wanted to show you all my trash before i talked about it.
i’m glad that i somewhat organized it when i laid the products down bc somehow i lost most of my more (actually) aesthetic product shots that i filmed. i am sad but there’s nothing i can do about that now. the universe wanted to keep that content for herself.
i guess i will go through all the products, that i didn’t get in the video, by the row that they’re in on my bed. top, middle, & bottom. then from left to right, like a book. here we go:
• avalon organics therapeutic hair care medicated anti-dandruff shampoo // ★★★★★ // i think @nishabalsara on ig mentioned that bc of the salicylic acid content of this shampoo it works as an excellent acne wash. when i tell you this ish works, it works! it’s definitely effective and strong. my brother uses it w the intended purpose and finds it to be the most effective anti-dandruff shampoo. a1, a1. // have & will continue to repurchase!
• pacifica beauty salty waves texturizing shampoo // ★★★☆☆ // nothing special, dried my scalp out // won’t repurchase!
• burt's bees milk and honey body lotion // ★★★★☆ // really thick and hydrating, especially great for dry skin or during winter but not vegan // won’t repurchase!
• the honey pot sensitive foaming wash // ★★★★★ // great calming scent, made me feel clean without completely stripping my skin // have & will continue to repurchase!
• ag hair moisture fast food leave on conditioner // ★★★★★ // favorite leave in ever! smells like fruit punch, doesn’t weigh my thin hair, and allowed my hair to go longer between washes // will repurchase!
• tom’s of maine long lasting deodorant, unscented // ★★★★☆ // enjoyed the consistency and the fact that it’s a clear deodorant. didn’t clog my pores and served it’s purpose // might repurchase!
• kopari coconut deo, original // ★★★★★ // i would put 10 thousand stars if i could. i absolutely love this deodorant w a passion. it’s amazing. i even found myself to not sweat as much when i used it, and it doesn’t have any alluminum in it. i’m so happy they released new scents! i want to try the charcoal driftwood scent. // have & will continue to repurchase!
• alba botanica acnedote maximum strength face & body scrub // ★★★★★ // this scrub is heaven sent. it’s not too rough that i feel i could use it every day. it works amazing for body breakouts as well. i’ve been using it for years & have gotten other people hooked on it as well. // have & will continue to repurchase!
• lush snow fairy shower gel // ★★☆☆☆ // worked well as a body wash, the scent was just too much bubblegum for me. the glitter also sank to the bottom of the bottle. // won’t repurchase!
• lush santa’s christmas shower cream // ★★★☆☆ // didn’t care for the cola scent but i enjoyed the fact that it was almost like an in-shower body lotion, nice and hydrating on the skin // won’t repurchase!
• tom’s of maine toothpaste, cinnamint with propolis/myrrh // ★★☆☆☆ // good flavor but wouldn’t make my mouth feel fresh and i felt that my breath would taste bad relatively quickly after brushing my teeth // won’t repurchase!
• schmidt's wondermint tooth+mouth paste, activated charcoal // ★★★☆☆ // enjoyed the flavor, worked well. didn’t care for the packaging, i felt like it held on to a lot of the product. // might repurchase!
• dr. bronner’s pure-castile liquid soap, hemp citrus // ★★★☆☆ // didn’t care for as a body soap but worked great as a multipurpose household cleaner. peppermint scent helps to get rid of/keep bugs at bay in the home! especially spiders and ants. just soak a cotton ball or a rag in it and wipe across surfaces you know they go to. it’s great! // have & might repurchase again!
• lush toothy tabs, dirty // ★★★★☆ // so convenient for travel! love that lush changed the paper packaging to a plastic bottle, now my toothy tabs will survive if the container happens to get wet! didn’t care for this flavor but i do love the concept // have & will continue to repurchase!
• tom's of maine antiplaque and whitening peppermint natural toothpaste // ★★☆☆☆ // same issue as the cinnamon flavor, i didn’t feel that it really cleaned my mouth well. it also had a weird bitter flavor that i didn’t care for // won’t repurchase!
• eco-dent veganfloss premium dental floss cinnamon // ★★★☆☆ // served its purpose. didn’t care for the packaging. tore up quickly from frequent use and deteriorated if it happened to get wet // won’t repurchase!
• burt’s bees sensitive facial cleanser // ★★★☆☆ // didn’t care for the thickness of it. will probably work for ultra-dry skin but didn’t feel that it was cleaning my skin because it would leave a layer of hydration that felt like film to me // won’t repurchase!
• nivea smooth sensation body lotion // ★★★★☆ // very hydrating but lightweight. however, not cruelty free. // won’t repurchase!
• the packaging to a pacifica stellar gaze mascara that I am currently trying out
• bare escentuals mineral eyeshadows // ★★★★☆ // loved the bright colors and the flexibility of the product. didn’t care for the fact that all of the colors were joined together, would have liked the colors to come detached // might repurchase!
• boscia black charcoal blotting linens // ★★★★☆ // i love oil blotting sheets. this pack lasted me a long time but would have lasted me longer if the packaging wasn’t made of paper. it came apart easily from being moved in and out of bags all the time // won’t repurchase!
2nd row
• my homemade body butter that i will eventually release a video and blog post for.
• hum nutrition hair sweet hair supplement // ★★★☆☆ // didn’t use it for long enough to see any benefits but i did enjoy the benefits, ingredients and company // will repurchase!
• sugarbear hair vitamins // ★★★☆☆ // good flavor, tasted like candy. used for a decent amount of time but didn’t see any special results // won’t repurchase!
• four sigmatic mushroom sampler mix // ★★★★☆ // loved all of the flavors except the golden milk mix, only because i’m used to turmeric being savory so it will be something i want to get used to definitely excited to try more from this brand! // will repurchase!
• simply gum // ★★★☆☆ // when i tell you it was an interesting experience with this gum, i can start by saying that the gum is made with natural rubber. because of this, they look like little dog treats. the flavor and texture was good though. i did notice that the gum would get really tough if chewed for a longer period of time but that really wasn’t a problem for me since i’m the kind of person that prefers a mint so i chew my gum only for a few seconds before spitting it out. i definitely want to try their mints // have but won’t repurchase again.
• handful of products that were filmed in my video, watch that for those ratings
• little barn apothecary aloe + rosewater balance mist // ★★★★★ // i was in love with this toner, and the little spray bottle distributed the mist so perfectly. really enjoyed the scent, was calming on the skin and played well with my skincare routine. helped in balancing my complexion // will repurchase!
• osea malibu atmosphere protection cream // ★★★★★ // i’ve never enjoyed a face moisturizer more than i loved this one. it played along so nicely with all skincare that i used frequently and tried out. it sat nicely under makeup. it held well during the summer and hydrated my skin great during the winter. makes me want to get everything osea has to offer // will repurchase!
3rd row
• a random walmart grocery bag that i thought everything would fit in but didn’t
• eo products organic hand sanitizer spray, lavender // ★★★☆☆ // served its purpose but i forgot about it for a few months and completely dried out by the time i found it before i was able to even go half way through the bottle // might repurchase
• burt’s bees facial cleansing towlettes // ★★★★★ // i’ve used every one of the wipes that burt’s bees has to offer and i’m obsessed. i loved the eye makeup remover wipes. i found that they all worked as they promised, some working more for oily or dry skin. i loved the grapefruit and tea scents. so beautiful // have & will continue to repurchase!
• alba botanica hawaiian 3-in-1 clean towelletes // ★★★☆☆ // worked well to take off makeup but i felt that they were sometimes too rough on my skin and the cleanser would irritate or sting my skin // won’t repurchase!
• summer’s eve on-the-go cleansing cloths, coconut water // ★★★☆☆ // worked nicely but the packaging would easily tear and leak out contents // might repurchase!
• makeup products that I included in my video
i am working on curating a favorites video of things that i’ve found and have repurchased 10 million times or have recommended to people. i love beauty products and got into the game late but don’t worry world, i will discover more of this amazingness.
until next time ✌
to be honest, if you’ve made it to the bottom of this blog post, you’re the cooliest. you can quote me on that. i appreciate you so much.

A trio of reviews tonight! First up is the Sephora Collection Disney Minnie Beauty: Minnie's World in Color Eyeshadow Palette (given to me when my middle daughter de-cluttered; two other palettes went into the ProjectBeautyShare.org box), second is my October Glossybox (which arrived Wednesday), and third is a mini Nyx haul.
The Minnie palette is out of its clutch because my daughter wants to use it, and I have a safe place to keep the palette itself inside a storage bag. The Glossybox gives everyone pretty much the same things, and at this point. Included for October's box: Vasanti Cosmetics Eyeshadow Brush ($21), CLOVE + HALLOW Lip Glaze in Spicy ($15), LUÉ by Jean Seo ERASE ($15), RITUALS USA Shower Foam in Happy Buddha ($15), and Korres Volcanic Minerals Twist Eyeshadow ($18). Total value: $84, and the thought that it has some of the most unique things I’ve seen in a subscription box (as well as having the most number of things not found on Influenster to review there...like all of them). The Nyx mini haul included three HD Studio concealers (green, lavender, and sand beige), a Pore Filler primer mini, and a bonus beauty sponge.
Let’s get on with the reviews! First up is Minnie!
Sephora Collection Disney Minnie Beauty: Minnie's World in Color Eyeshadow Palette :: I was really surprised at how pigmented these turned out to be. There were a few colors (mostly mattes) that were less pigmented, but they were still usable, if needing a bit more work to get to show up. The palette is a great everyday palette too, with pops of color to balance out the more natural shades. It’s a beautiful palette, and I really like it!
Next is the Glossybox haul.
Vasanti Cosmetics Eyeshadow Brush :: This brush is bigger and stiffer than I’m used to for a shadow brush, but it’s a nice brush with a sturdy handle. It picks up A LOT of color, though you have to be careful to not have it dig into the shadow, and packs it onto the lid beautifully. It has weight to it that none of my e.l.f., BH, or Royal & Langnickel brushes have, but is on par with my EcoTools brush. I like it.
CLOVE + HALLOW Lip Glaze in Spicy :: This is a beautiful gloss: bright, shiny, and pigmented. It doesn’t turn sticky, but it also doesn’t dry down when used on its own, so LOTS of transfer. Whether it turns sticky or dries down when used with another lip product depends on the product and formula: it gets sticky with tartiest lip creams, for example. The color is a bit bright for me to use by itself, but I do like it for an adjuster on other colors.
LUÉ by Jean Seo ERASE :: This had to be the weirdest product I’ve tried. It’s a powder cleanser, exfoliater, and toner. You mix it with water to create a paste, let it sit on the skin a bit (but don’t let it dry), then “massage” it off—it pills off like eraser bits. I think it works as a mask, but not as a cleanser so much: when I used my toner pad, it was dirty when done. It also doesn’t massage off very well; I had to use a slightly damp washcloth to get it all off. That said, my skin was smooth, my red patches less red, and my acne prone areas less rough, even the next day. I’m pretty sure it even helped clear up some new pimples that were coming in. So, even though it was weird and one of the most unique products I’ve tried, I really like it and may even purchase it when what I have is gone.
RITUALS USA Shower Foam in Happy Buddha :: All I can say is oh heck no. The scent of this tried to knock me into the next county and refused to come off my hands even after three different kinds of soaps. This went straight to the ProjectBeautyShare.org box without me doing more than trying it on my hands.
Korres Volcanic Minerals Twist Eyeshadow :: So this is a eye shadow pencil, and I don’t particularly like any kind of eye pencil (with one exception). That gives any pencil sample a high bar to convince me. This one didn’t. Creamy but not creamy enough to not pull on the eye when used; pigmented when swatched on the hand, but had to work at it on the eye. So this went into the ProjectBeautyShare.org box as well.
Finally, the Nyx mini-haul.
HD Photogenic Concealer Wand :: These are a really nice consistency and blended really well. I think they helped reduce the texture of my skin when done, but while the redness was covered really well, my under eye shadows are still somewhat visible, especially on the innermost corner, and I had to use some of my jar concealer to clean up the edge from my outer eye to my eyebrow. My other concern is that these will cost a bit more in the long run because they won’t last as long as the jars. That said, I do like them and think I’ll be using them in place of the jars (with the exception for the outer edge clean up).
Pore Filler Mini :: As soon as this one is gone, I’ll be picking up the full size. This did a better job than even the Dr. Brandt’s (which I also really liked). I do have one dimpled pore that can still be seen, but the texture around my nose and under my eyes is 1000 times better than it’s been. I’d toss my BECCA if it hadn’t cost so much. lol Really liked this primer. A LOT.
Nyx Loyalty Program Beauty Sponge :: I love the shape of this sponge—it’s perfect for foundation application for me. It is a bit firmer than my other sponges, but I discovered I like that for foundation (the softer sponges are perfect for the concealer). Pretty pleased with this freebie.
So, yea, domy tried these and was happy with almost all of them. I also have an update for my tarte Amazonian clay 12-hour foundation and the Make Up Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation I received in my Play bag last month. As much as I like it, the tarte comes across as a little too light (to my eye anyway), but Make Up Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation Sephora sent is too dark. So I mixed them, then went over the whole face with the MUF again. I think the color matches better than before. So I just became a two foundation mixer to get my perfect shade. The only down side atm is that the foundation doesn’t seem to hold up as well in humidity as the tarte does by itself. The De-slick powder settles in tiny dots over my skin a bit less over this mix as well though it still does some (and, yes, I think I need a different finishing powder). The foundation still feels like on my skin, still covers about the same as when just using the tarte (around medium), so I’m pretty happy with it like this, and have plenty of both to use for this year. I was thinking about trying the Born This Way foundation, but I think it can wait until next winter if I decide I still want to try it then. For all I know, another foundation that looks better will come out by then. ;)
Just received word that my November Glossy has shipped, so it’s likely to be the first unboxing of the month for this month. I’m still on the wait list for Boxycharm. *deep heavy sigh* REALLY wanted this month’s box. Still have a chance for it, but not holding my breath. Ipsy and Play have both billed, but Ipsy won’t ship until next week, I think, and Play ships second or third week of the month. Looking forward to them both! :)

LAS VEGAS BEAUTY HAUL: 2017
On the 28th of August, my boyfriend Scott and I took a trip Las Vegas, Nevada for the first time for our summer holiday. It was both our first times visiting the States and it was everything I always imagined and more. The shopping, the food, the sights, the people- but I will post a separate blog post of our trip over all, in this post we will focus on the lovely beauty items I bought while away.
I was going to make this blog post a beauty and fashion haul, but I feel as if the post would never end as I purchased more clothes that I first anticipated, so we will focus on the beauty then a fashion haul maybe in the future.
Okay, let’s get into it-
SEPHORA
Every make up lover’s heaven. Sadly, the UK does not have any Sephora stores so when there was one across the road from our Vegas hotel, you could imagine the excitement. Sephora typically is a high-end make up department store, carrying brands like YSL, Tarte, Benefit, Two Face etc, as well as there own label of make up items.
As it is considered high end, some of the products can be a litttttle pricey, so approach with caution and try and not get carried away. In typical Vegas fashion we would take a trip down to the casino and play the slot machines and when we were confident enough, we moved onto the roulette table. Beginners luck was on my side when my numbers came up and I won $110- my first thought was what can I buy from Sephora!?!?! when in reality it only bought me two things.
Using the money I had won from the roulette table and my own spending money my 6 items came to around of $170 including tax, which works out roughly about £130. The staff in Sephora are super friendly and very approachable, obviously they want you to feel comfortable and buy as many products as you can. I was told with every Sephora purchase you can get a complementary make up session/lesson. There was a few make up stations dotted about the store for this and I’m sure if you asked to colour match or try a product they would take you over to those stations too.
What I got: all prices will be US dollar since that is the currency I paid with!
Urban Decay All Nighter setting stray (30ml/1.0 fl oz) - $15
Sephora Radiant luminzing highligher drops (15ml/.50 fl oz) - $14
Tarte Tarteist Lip paint in the shade ‘Namaste’ (6ml/.20 fl oz) - on sale for $11
Sephora Clear Loose Translucent power- on sale for $7
Sol De Janerio Bum Bum Cream (250ml/8.1 fl oz) - $45
Huda Beauty Rose Gold Texture eyeshadow palette- $65
I had my eye on the Rose Gold palette for a while and had only ever seen it online or in YouTube videos, but when I seen it in person and swatched it for myself I loved it- so had to have it. A few of my favourites so far are Dubai, Angelic, Flamingo and Henna.
At one point I had in my basket concealers, foundation, eye and clay masks and then I realised, 1: this stuff will be expensive, 2: I had limited luggage space/weight in my suitcase coming home and 3: even though we don’t have a Sephora back home, we can still get a lot of the range carried within Sephora in stores back home so realised I could buy majority of the same stuff when I was home and when I would actually need it all.
I then went to Bath and Body Works- another store we’re lacking in the UK. The store is basically a candle and soap shop, with body gels, hand sanitisers, creams, lotions etc. We had went during Labour Day weekend, so got my goodies discounted, which is always a bonus.
I picked myself up a watermelon foam hand soap, a sugar scrub shower gel and a travel size hand sanitiser- my items came to around $13 including tax, which i’d say was reasonable as the soap should have been $7 full price. My only regret is not stocking up on they mini hand sanitisers, as I love the smell and know I will run out quite soon as I use it often.
I am one of those people who grudge using pricey perfume as an everyday scent. I like the idea of only using my expensive perfumes for a special occasion, so typically everyday I will wear body sprays or mists. They smell good, they’re cheap and way easier to travel about with, so I picked myself up the Razz-Berry mist while in Abercrombie for only $5.
It’s fruity, which is one of my favourite scents to wear, easy to through in my bag when I am on the go and as its so cheap, you can spray all day and not feel guilty that you’re wasting pricey perfume, and you smell just as nice!
As Sephora is a high end store, while I was in Walgreens, a pharmacy type store- similar to a UK Boots, I picked myself up a NYX concealer and a Wet N Wild highlight stick. They both came to under $10, and I will most likely use them as back up make up items or forget I have them as they are nothing special; and now the more I realise, more like impulse buys rather than desired ones as the concealer is slightly too light for my skin tone and the stick is kinda sheer, oh well.
So that was my short little make up/beauty haul from my time in Vegas. I did buy way more clothes rather than make up, so I may do a fashion haul later or an updated blog post on how well these make up items preform and hold up- so many blog post ideas! I do plan on posting more often, it’s just trying to get into the swing of writing and making content, so I will see what happens.
Shannon. xo
