"Hunter doesn't even know half of it," the Inner Empress says, hugging her arms tighter around herself. She's rocking, a little, as though to keep herself calm. "He doesn't even know."
Raine keeps their voice very quiet, very gentle. "That Belos hurt you?"
"No, no, that doesn't matter, I don't care about any of that. He doesn't know about the others."
Raine's brows draw together. "The others?"
"The other guards. The Golden Guards before him. He doesn't know."
Darius stiffens so fast that the mindscape itself reacts. He's not making it easy to convince the inner self that they aren't here to hurt her. Raine suspects that he doesn't actually realize how intimidating he's being.
"What do you mean by that," he says flatly.
The trees shake. Dust dislodges. Luz shrinks away.
Raine touches her arm, still so gently.
"Whispers," Darius says, edging toward a snarl, "ask her what the fuck she means by that."
This inner self doesn't seem any better at expressing herself than her outward facade. Raine swallows. "It's okay, Luz," they say. "Hey, can you show us?"

Fuck-it Friday
It is just past midnight where I reside, so that means its officially Friday. Normally I don't post till the sun is shining, but I am traveling today and visiting with family, so I won't have access to computer time till much much later.
Tagged by the always lovely @panbuckley, who posted a very steamy snippet. So I am going to continue this trend myself, or try to at least. Here is some very vague smut from NFL Buck.
Eddie is on the precipice of tipping over into orgasmic bliss, but a tight grip at the base of his cock, snaps him back. He cries out, "Buck please." Behind him with his own cock deep in Eddie's ass and lounging back on the dark blue sofa, Buck chuckles. Eddie feels the vibration of his delight more than he can hear it. "You didn't answer me." The younger man states. The hand not withholding Eddie's pleasure, hits the rewind button on a small black remote. The projected film in front of them reverses, pulling the figures of the players of the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings back to their pre-snap formations. "Two high safeties, 5 man rush, what should I call?" Buck repeats his earlier question with a swivel of his hips, grinding up against's Eddie's prostate. A whimper is pulled from him and Eddie squeezes his eyes shut, relishing the stimulating euphoria mixed with the pain of being held at the edge. The warm plastic of the remote is dropped on his thigh and Eddie can't hold down a moan of appreciation as Buck grips his hair, yanking his head back. "I told you to keep your eyes open. Don't want to miss anything, now do we?" He growls in his ear, nipping at the cartilage. Fuck. Having his eyes on the footage of the Chicago Bears was the whole reason Eddie joined Buck in the first place. He liked to help his boyfriend with his studies, give advice, and his own opinion on what the defense is doing and how Evan should respond. The reward for doing so, usually came after pages of a notebook had been filled and several hours of film had been watched. But the first game of the Ram's season with their new shiny quarterback was just days away and Buck was a ball of nervous energy. Working out did little to take the edge off. Video games with Christopher (and losing horribly) just added to the problem. Not even a pep talk from his personal trainer Owen Strand could help. So Buck turned to film hoping that being over prepared would ease his mind just a little. Eddie ventured into the screening room wanting to give him some relief and Evan immediately showed him how he could. A sloppy blowjob lead to Eddie's first orgasm. A seat in Buck's lap, his chest pressed tight against Eddie's back, and stretched tight around Buck's cock, has Eddie on the edge of another. He just needed to focus. Give Buck a play to beat the scheme. He needed to open his eyes and see past his pleasure. Just for a moment and then Eddie can finally fall into the inferno, with Buck just behind him. The sharp trill of Eddie's phone breaks his focus and has his eyes opening for all the wrong reasons.
Never really written man on man smut before, so I hope I'm doing something sort of right? Idk. I just wanted to put the fuck in fuck-it friday lol. But this is a scene I've had in my notes for awhile for this fic. Hope you all enjoyed!

Hello people!
Tumblr media
My name's Kordian.
I'm a guy who fell in love with stories at a young age, and decided to make their life about them.
I’m a genderqueer, bisexual mess born on april 15th, which makes me:
an aries
using they/he pronouns,
coming from poland,
speak polish, english and basic german, spanish, french and danish, which means i can wish you a happy birthday and order coffee, and also talk about the weather and describe my outfit, but i will not get into the depths of quantum physics.
i’m also autistic.
more info lower!
Other random things about me:
i love writing
lemons, ginger, cinnamon, pears, pasta
i have a sweet tooth
i’m getting back into drawing and watercolour painting
i love flowers, my favourite one being a carnation
i’m basically 24/7 in headphones, music always on
i like learning new languages (if you haven’t figured that out yet)
i enjoy reading, watching movies and tv shows
i can play on ukulele and i’m getting better at guitar and bass
i love stickers and pins
kinda obsessed with angels and religious symbolism while being an atheist, idk how i did that
i can trauma dump without realising, sorry for that
i love sticking things to my walls
and also telling stories
travelling
coffee
chocolate
green
robin williams
On this blog, I reblog/post things related to writing and relatable things I see. Sometimes share a snippet of my writing or freak about an idea I'm having. I’m thinking about separating this side blog into two, one for fanfic (this one), and one for my original work (with my pen name) but idk. Maybe when I have more time.
What do I write?
I write mostly fiction and fantasy, usually gory.
I write things that are inspired by things I know. I have a great imagination, which sometimes is not so fun, but when I write it's really useful. I can sit in any place and make it into a story.
All my works include queer representation.
Some of my works might be graphic, but I will put trigger warnings before any of them.
My current works:
If it comes to longer WIPs, I am used to working on one/two at once, but giving it my whole attention for the time of writing. Even though I can read seven books at once, I can't write them at once.
I also write a lot of short stories, but I will not be listing them here.
"The Tangled Sun" (working title) - a fantasy novel (1st dratf) tag: wip : tts queer, pirates, magic
Fanfiction:
"Darksun" (working title) - a post apocalyptic novel(1st draft) tag: wip : darksun angels, queer, gore, horror
you can find me under cowboymorpheus on ao3
All of Us, Strangers - an AOUS deancas AU 24,095 words “How do you cope?” he asks. “With what?” “Listen?” he says, almost asks, and sticks the hand with the bottle up, one finger pointing at the ceiling. Dean doesn’t hear anything. The silence fills the entire space. “It’s so quiet,” he says, and his voice is slightly broken up, as if he’s mourning the sound that isn’t present. “The city’s out there, but we can’t hear a fucking thing.” Castiel leans even closer, as if he was about to tell Dean his deepest, darkest secret, and Dean backs away. His hand tightens on the doorknob. “I play music, but it’s worse when it ends. I even bought one of those white-noise machines. It’s like someone’s in the corner of the room, whispering about me. We can’t even open the windows, but I guess they don’t want us to jump.” he pauses for a while. “Bad for business. Broken bodies on the concrete. Who’s gonna move in then?” he asks, but he doesn’t expect an answer.
Dean Cas Big Bang fic - estimated word count 27k
-----
on the road - WHICH IS A WORKING TITLE - estimated word count is 60k After John dies, Dean has no more reasons to be trapped in his hometown. With the encouragement of his friends and family, he hits the road, where he meets new people and learns new things about himself, finally being able to explore himself as much as he always wanted to. Not having to hide, being able to just be his own person is something he didn't know he would ever be able to do. Little does he know, it's only the beginning of the good things to happen.
stained white roses - a darkfic basically
My other account is @cowboymorpheus. you'll probably find out some more on the intro post there. It's where I reblog and sometimes post fandom stuff, here it's just, I don't know. Writing, ao3 and the rest of random stuff like that.
That's pretty much all. Like I said, I'm open to new conversations, so don't hesitate to message me or send asks anytime. And I'm ask/tag game friendly!
Have a nice one!

REQUESTS UPDATES (last updated 7/10)
Hello hello all!! Going to put the progress of my requested work here in a pinned message! I work on the requested work in the order they come in!! 1. DONE AND POSTED Sasuke was always jealous of sakura for having a family and thought she never understood his loneliness or what he went through because she wasn't an orphan or from a clan etc. Then he met her family after they were married and all of them were rude to sakura or looked down on her for being a ninja and marrying a "traitor" etc. and they picked on her weight and stuff... and sasuke realised why she was the way she was when they were genin..insecure as he saw her who's usually strong shrink into the small insecure girl she was when she was a genin because of them. Mebuki does all the slandering and badmouths everything about sakura. sasuke thought sakura's dad would defend sakura or smth but he agrees with mebuki. Sakura is sad when she leaves but thinks she's wrong and selfish for not being the perfect daughter they wanted. (maybe introduce a cousin staying with sakura's parents who was also there at the meeting and mebuki talks about her as if she were her daughter...she basically replaced sakura) Combined with:
Hi i know you're busy but when you have time could you do one where sasuke sees that sakura's mother really doesn't like her (sakura) for being a ninja and all that and looks down on what she does. Everything sakura does is wrong in her mother's eyes and her weight is picked on. etc.
Sakura's mother feels that she wasted her time raising "ungrateful" sakura who fell in love with a traitor, basically ran away and got married, became a shinobi and did everything to "shame" the civilian haruno family name. She makes sakura feel like a failure.
2.
In conclusion, sasuke has been very suicidal from the beginning on and probably still sometimes has suicidal thoughts during boruto (out of regret, grief, etc.). sasuke's suicidal ideation has been implied in multiple scenes throughout the whole show, (not only the scenes i've named) which was mainly caused by his yearning for revenge on itachi, his guilt/grief from the loss of his family and the regret of his actions during his teenage years.
The above is from a blog (sweetmourninglambs) about sasuke. I was wondering if you could maybe make a sasusaku snippet based on this post? Pls if it's not much trouble?
Here's the link if you want to read the whole thing: https://www.tumblr.com/sweetmourninglambs/717956632409210880/tw-mentions-of-suicide-suicidal-ideation?source=share
3.
Sakura addicted to soldier pills in cannon after the war. they relied on them heavily during the war now she finds any excuse to take them. Oh stubbed my toe, i need 3 soldier pills. I need to heal! She's also scared that her byakugou could run out, what if this idk-how-many-yrs supply runs out, better take a few soldier pills.
Maybe it could be told from her pov and the perspectives of the ppl around her like team7 (naruto sasuke kakashi sai yamato)
4. Well I was thinking of a fic where Sasuke is hiding or sneaking around – maybe planning a surprise for Sakura? – but Sakura knows he's hiding and decides to have a little fun. So she summons a shadow clone and begins to, like, fool around with herself. She's doing it just to get a rise out of Sasuke because she knows he's hiding. 5.can u do a little snippet about sasusaku right after sasuke came back to konoha after his redemption journey, after naruto and hinata's wedding??

Abandoned WIP--Any Ship
As stated before, this is an abandoned WIP snippet. I’ll tag them with #my abandoned WIPs to organize it. If you see any and are so inspired by any of these to either create your own or finish, PLEASE tag me! I’d love to see if someone was able to take it and run with it since it stalled out for me.
This is an idea for a Soulmate AU I had that could work for any ship:
OK so I may or may not have been reading a lot of soulmark AU fics recently and like I HAD AN IDEA, but like I need to work through it... soooo bare with me here. OK, so like the usual holds true, meaning your soulmark appears on you (I don't know where, it doesn't quite matter) and it's someone's name, and it appears sometime during your adolescence. (Like it's part of the whole your body is changing! rhetoric that gets taught). BUUUUT here's my idea/twist. At some point in your life, I'm thinking like LATE teens/20s when you're in college/becoming an adult, the name disappears from your body. And it's gone for like a year or two, and during that time you can either try to find the person that was originally on your body, or you can choose to be with someone else or choose to not be with anyone. Like, it's almost like a Rumspringa (like with the Amish) and you have this period in your life where you can like chose your own mate/soulmate, or reject them, or chose to stay with the one the fates had said was your original perfect match. And then after that period, a name reappears on your body. And sometimes it's the same as before, and sometimes it's different, and sometimes it never comes back. It like... it's almost like fate/destiny gives you a chance to take things into your own hands. And of course some people run with it, like they're like no way can some rando whose name appeared on my body when I was 12 could be it for me, so they use the blankness period (IDK I just thought of that I don't like it, it's a working name) to meet as many as they can to see if they can find someone better. And I could see this resulting in so many results too. Like, someone picks someone that they know is perfect that doesn't match their soulmark at all and then when the soulmark comes back it's not the person they picked, and maybe it's not even the original person they had! IDK I could keep going in this vein but y'all get it. And then I would think, if you meet your soulmate BEFORE the blankness period, it would never go away, OR maybe it still does and you each have to decide during that time if you'll stay together or go your separate ways. Anyway, what do y'all think? I would also think that if during the blankness your original soulmate decided to chose someone else (or no one at all) and it stuck, then you would have someone else or no one either, and like it just kind of emphasizes the point that there's not ONLY ONE person EVER for you But no one ever realizes that part of the whole thing, like these people chose to eff fate and do what they want, but really it was never just one person and you could always change your mind and that's the point?
hahaha, I just think it'd be cool. Like I get that people love the idea of a soulmate, and that's there for those people, but what about others that don't or like their soulmate dies or doesn't want them and then they're left alone? And so it's almost like no, you're not. And fate/destiny what have you is like, it's okay, you'll find your person, and maybe we give you a name to help you out and get you started, and that person is pretty great, but they're not the end all be all. you get to decide that.
Another soulmate AU that can work for any ship:
Ok, so you know those soulmate AUs where the first thing your soulmate says to you is written on your arm or whatever? Well what IF your soulmate is deaf/can't speak and so nothing ever gets tattooed on your arm, and you're like sad and depressed bc you are living your life with the knowledge that you have no soulmate bc the universe doesn't see fit to give you one, and you're just so sad about it bc everyone else has phrases and lines from their soulmate tattooed on them and you have nothing. So when you finally do meet the really cute guy with wide eyes and gorgeous smile, you don't think anything of it bc he doesn't say anything to you, so you think maybe you won't say anything either, but despite how much of a hurry you're in, you decided to say hi anyway and let's say you're in a bookstore, and he's looking at books and he just so happens to be looking at the display of your favorite book so you go up to him and say, "you know, this one is my favorite," and he doesn't budge, so you clear your throat and tap him on the shoulder and he turns to look at you and you repeat yourself, and he's staring at your lips and when you're done, his eyes widen and he grins and you're kind of confused, but you smile, and then he lifts up his sleeve to show you his arm and the line you just said is written there. and he moves his hands, but you don't know what it means, but you do recognize that it's sign language, and suddenly, everything makes sense and maybe the universe doesn't hate you after all, you just didn't understand what it was trying to say.

annual writing self-evaluation
All answers should be about works published in 2023.
i. Optional if applicable: link to last year’s self-evaluation
1. List of works published this year (in the order that they were posted):
as per usual that list is too long for this post so here's my 2023 fic roundup
2. Work you are most proud of (and why):
far and away it has to be before i bury you purely because it was 1. SUCH an endeavor to begin with, and 2. so unbelievably different from anything i've written before. like, the criminal minds au was me dipping my toe into the pool of horror/suspense, and this fic was diving in headfirst. and i know it's not everyone's cup of tea (or most people's, tbh) but i've been so pleased with the reactions of those who have read it and i'm so, so thankful for it 💛 (honorable mentions to always have & i always will and a tender age, tho)
3. Work you are least proud of (and why):
it's not that i'm not proud of it but a fic that's been hanging over my head all year is if the fates allow because god i hate that it's almost been a year since i updated it and I'VE BEEN TRYING to work on it but my brain just refuses to focus on it! i'm really hoping to finish it soon, though (and the gd pirate au too UGH).
4. A favorite excerpt of your writing:
man am i glad i did an ask meme like a week ago that asked this question so i can snag an answer from that rather than spending 3 hours combing through my fics lol
Tumblr media
5. Share or describe a favorite comment you received:
Tumblr media
lmfao @cyraclove left this one on a snippet of the onlyfans au i sent her and it's my favorite thing ever
6. A time when writing was really, really hard:
there's been a few instances of that over the last year but no specific events immediately come to mind. it seems to come and go in waves for me and all i can do is just ride it out and hope my inspiration comes back.
7. A scene or character that you wrote that surprised you:
ok like i swear to god i never thought i would write omegaverse and yet a tender age happened and it basically came pouring out of me and onto the page so like?? what the hell was that??? (also no i have not forgotten i promised a sequel, it's percolating i promise)
8. How did you grow as a writer this year:
i tried new genres!! i really enjoyed the writing process!! (even if it made me absolutely insane at times)
9. How do you hope to grow next year:
i've said this a billion times before but i think next year i want to try writing original stuff alongside fic. idk if i'll finish a whole novel or what, but i'd at least like to start something.
10. Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc):
my friends 💛
11. Anything in your real life show up in your writing this year:
not that i can think of but i did actually let my sister read some of my stuff and she told me that i have a lot of ust in my writing and (yes this is weird but she's my sister and i know she means well) that she wished i had an outlet for it irl so like. i guess that's something?
12. Any new wisdom you can share with other writers:
i always say the same goddamn thing and today i saw a post that really encapsulated that so i'm just going to copy it here:
Tumblr media
13. Any new projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year:
as per usual, so many. i've got a bunch half-started already that i haven't shared yet and i'm really hoping to be able to get them Mostly Finished before i start posting them, so keep your fingers crossed and an eye out 👀
14. Tag three writers/artists whose answers you’d like to read:
@cyraclove, @medusasfinalgirl, @staceymcgillicuddy (and anybody else who would like to do this, i'm tagging u)

Trope Grading Game
Thank you for the tags @aristocratic-otter and @artsyunderstudy! I really love hearing what y’all are into and why.
Rules: How much do these tropes affect your decision to click on a fic?
-10 -> very dissuaded
0 -> don’t care either way
+10 -> very enticed
nope -> if it’s a hard no and you’d never click on a fic with that tag or or you even have the tag blocked or you’d insta click out of the fic if it wasn’t tagged
Bonus points for explaining the rating and whether it’s conditional.
So the short answer is 0 for everything because I don’t read tags anymore because they never affected my choice to read a story the way a summary, snippet, rec or author gushing about their work would. But! even choosing with these methods the tropes bleed through so here are my rankings
Age gap: -1
I’m not opposed to it per se, I just don’t see the appeal. I just finished a book with side characters in a relationship with a big age gap and I tried to be open minded but it creeped me out a bit. Although I did write Baz as a 200 year old vampire so I guess there’s that! 😅
Codependency: +5
Yeah, give me two people leaning on each other. I think we suffer in silence too much. I think we need human connection. Gimme two people who aren’t afraid to ask for what they want. Yeah sure, it can be problematic but mostly I think it’s nice.
Obsession/possessiveness, jealousy: +5
I fucking love possessive Simon. Sometimes this trope isn’t done well in other stories but with Snowbaz I eat that shit up.
Opposites (grumpy/sunshine etc): +8
I looooove it. Working past your stereotypes? Becoming more open minded? Seeing someone on a deeper level? Grabby hands
Enemies to lovers, Enemies with benefits: +8
This is the majority of Snowbaz so obviously, yes. Sometimes I’m not a fan outside the fandom, but here it’s so good. And enemies with benefits??? Please. Cue me foaming at the mouth reading Restoration Ecology by @captain-aralias or it’s fabulous remix by @royalasstronaut.
Friends with benefits: +8
Yes please. As long as there’s some deep feelings involved, even if they come later, I’m there. And often with friendship you’ve got the platonic love there that sometimes builds to more so yes. More Than Friends by @fatalfangirl is an EXCELLENT example of this where they are just pining idiots from day 1 and I’m obsessed.
Sex to feelings: +10
FUCK YES. I will take it every time. I love sex, I love a good slow burn, I love sex with feelings. Make them earn it? PLEASE. Someone Wicked does this so well. @artsyunderstudy is the queen of sex with feelings.
Fake dating/relationship: +8
Yup, this is a goodie. even just fake friendship a la RWRB. Lovely. But yeah when their dating and they gotta kiss to sell it? And the other thinks they are faking but really that’s how they feel? Mmm hmm. Yummy.
Friends to lovers: +10
Y’all know this is my thing. I’ve written it several times. They love each other SO MUCH but they are too afraid to ruin their friendship so they feel they can’t make a move. The angst is right there and I love it.
Found family: +1
This can be great, but if that’s the whole premise I might pass. Fluff can be fun but if that’s all there is, I usually pass. But! If this is a theme in a longer fic with more complex plot? Then it can be really good.
Hurt/comfort: +1
Idk why but I associate this tag with shorter fics that just doesn’t actually hit that hard. Like, the hurt is little and immediately followed by the comfort. Give me the BIG angst. Hurt me good before you make it better. I looooove angst with a happy ending. So if that’s what we are doing then give it to me good.
Love triangle: -3
Meh. I always feel bad for the odd one out. I don’t like seeing the pining and angst without the pay out. And usually this is how it goes. If the third person is an asshole you just have to nudge out of the way, then maybe.
Poly, open relationship: -3
I’m actually quite curious about this and I bet it can be done right, but I usually go for a single OTP. Give me your recs though, I’d love to be convinced otherwise.
Mistaken/hidden identity: +10
Hell yes. They didn’t know it was that person all along? And they fell for them anyways? Fantastic. Even better is when they fall for the same person twice. Both hidden and not. And then! All is revealed and it’s the same person! Think love letters from a secret admirer, masquerade, etc. I mean there’s a reason network connectivity problems is the highest kudosed fic in the fandom.
Monsterfucking: +10
And bless this fandom for introducing me to it and going whole hog with our boys and their monster parts.
Pregnancy: -3
Been there, done that, don’t find it sexy. There’s some good mpreg fics in this fandom though so there are exceptions! Orange Juice by @orange-peony is a GREAT one that I really adored. This fandom just really delivers in any area.
Second chance: +9
Yes please! Unless own person is truly awful and doesn’t deserve it, but typically I love someone getting a chance to try and learn from their mistakes and try again. Don’t we all wish we could have a second chance at something?
Slow burn: +10
ITS SO SATISFYING! The payoff is so good after they’ve worked for it. My favorite.
Soulmates: +1
I love when characters can choose each other despite their destiny. I need conflict. I don’t know if I’ve read any Snowbaz ones. I think because I like them at odds and assume they won’t be. @artsyunderstudy is giving me recs to help me see the light LOL.
Who hasn’t done this? Tagging those above who haven’t done it plus a few more, if you’re up for it @whogaveyoupermission @iamamythologicalcreature @facewithoutheart @bookish-bogwitch @cutestkilla @thewholelemon @ivelovedhimthroughworse @ileadacharmedlife @raenestee @valeffelees

17, 25, and 39 for the fic writer meme? :3
HI VOID HIIIIII
17. What do you do when writing becomes difficult? (maybe a lack of inspiration or writers block)
I usually just get depressed (that's what triggers it a lot of the time) but if I'm actively dragging myself out of it, I'll put writing down and read an actual book book cover to cover -- something that I've never read before. Then in a day or two the words should start coming back to me, but it's not always guaranteed. Worth a shot though!
25. What fic do you wish you got more of a response on?
Ah honestly, I don't mean to sound ungrateful or greedy or anything like that but I wish selfc'est la vie had a little more reception. It's a stupid concept and it was written for me and two (maybe three) others really, but I spent just over two whole months on it and I'm really fucking proud of some of it so idk. Maybe throw some love for my little guys over or something
39. Share a snippet from a WIP
Y'all are so hungry for snippets damn!! I'm real eager to finish this one up and post it so I can get onto my actual long-form wips (I know I said that last time. And the time before that. But this time I am telling the truth I pinkie swear) so here you go <3
“I hope you find them,” Hobie says. “Who?” It’s startled out of Peter. “Someone who’s kind.” Hobie smiles crookedly. He gestures at Peter’s scarred face, his leg with its stitched gash. “I’m not gonna ask. But. Whoever they were, they weren’t kind.” Peter hasn’t thought about his scars in a long time. “They made sense in the moment,” he says. The words are foreign in his mouth.
Thank you so much for the ask!!! Here is the masterpost for anyone interested!!!! This was a joy to get and answer <3

hellooooooooo 😍 for the "get to know your fic writer" meme: 27, 39, 46, 56, 64, 68 (I could ask like... a dozen of these 😂😂😂 I'm gonna add a wild-card here for you to answer one on the list you WANT to but that I didn't ask 👀)
oooooooh so many thank you for understanding i never wanna shut up
27. What is your most and least favorite part of writing?
Favorite part is either when I've been trying to tease out a scene for a while (especially one with lots of emotional complexity) and suddenly it all fits together Or when I write and somehow it all magically flows out of me with ease. Least favorite part is writing when it is Not magically flowing out of me and yet I am forced to keep going even though it feels bad lmao
39. Share a snippet from a WIP
First is Stede’s body, Ed soaping up a loofah and running it gently over all the dips and rolls and angles of the man he loves—the broad expanse of his chest, the dip in his navel, the crease between thigh and groin, the spot right below the arch of his foot where he’s ticklish as hell. Stede raises his arms obediently when Ed cleans his pits, looking at him with exhaustion and love in his eyes that Ed’s body hardly feels big enough to hold. When the worst of the general grime is running down the drain—not much, but Ed knows that doesn’t matter, can see how much weight has left Stede’s shoulders along with the dirt—Stede asks Ed to grab a washcloth and soap that up too, then takes a steadying breath. “Now my—my hands,” he says, lifting one for Ed to take. It’s shaking. “Please.”
46. How would you describe your style? (Character/emotion/action-driven, etc)
Definitely character and emotion driven over action. In my heart what I want my style to be at least is "big feelings in simple moments." That feeling of having the hugest emotions that seem like they should be overwhelming everything and yet life continues on, good or bad. Idk I just enjoy exploring emotions and their complexity and working through them and shit
56. What’s something about your writing that you pride yourself on?
I think when I write emotional scenes that have arguments or confessions or revelations or anything like that, it feels realistic without losing the intensity/spark you want out of scenes like that (are you seeing a pattern about what I focus on lmao)
64. Something you love to see in smut.
Laughter! Check-ins! Whimpering! The person giving being SO focused on the other person's needs and still possibly getting off from how good it feels to make them feel good!
68. What, if anything, do you do for inspiration?
Reading definitely, but sometimes when I'm trying to figure out how to write a fic or scene and I'm stuck, I will literally go on a walk with my dog and just talk to myself on voice memos the whole time. I don't even listen to the voice memo again usually but it's important I be recorded for some reason and it really gets me out of a rut like 9 times out of 10
BONUS: 47. How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?
This is just me blatantly calling myself out that I edit........a lot before I post things. I secretly love editing more than I love writing sometimes lmao, and I will read through my shit SO MANY TIMES editing the tiniest little things (and then editing them back half the time). Whenever someone beta's for me it's like, they read it once or twice and I read it all like five times. (I do however want to soften up on this a liiiiittle bit so that I dont end up in silly editing spirals that aren't helpful.)

Hi Anna! For the tag game, I haven't been on in a few days so I don't know what you've already answered, but I'd so very interested in "Eddie gets into Steve's interests" and "Writer in the dark"!!
Thank you!! I hope you had a good few days off :)
The Writer in the Dark fic is something I still have VERY little on and honestly idk if i'm ever gonna write it. There was this tumblr post (which i should've saved bc now i can't find anymore) about how Writer in the Dark by Lorde was a Steddie song and I got this fic idea for it but it'd be very sad and I usually write things where they can heal together and get better instead of adding to their trauma, so this one's pretty low on my priority list tbh.
"Eddie gets into Steve's interests" is basically what the working title says it is lol, i always get annoyed by the abundance of fics/hc's where Steve is making huge efforts to get into Eddie's interests, sometimes basically changing his whole personality, while Eddie is doing nothing (or worse, being mean about Steve's interests) in return. Sorry if this sounds bitter but it's SUCH a no-go for me. I don't have much for this one yet, but here's a lil snippet:
They had been dating for a few weeks now, and were still getting used to it all. There were still so many details to learn about Steve, still so many surprises, so many layers to uncover - like that he apparently liked to listen to Wham! in his car on a volume that Eddie only reserved for metal.
'Sorry 'bout that,' Steve said as he cut off George Michael's voice and let the radio spit out the cassette that was in it. 'You can put some of your metal in, make yourself comfortable.'
Eddie didn't bother fastening his seatbelt as they drove off. He took the cassette to study it. Make it big, was written on it.
'Why can't we just listen to this one?' Eddie asked as he waved it around.
Steve shot him a quick sideways glance, not quite taking his eyes off the road. 'It's Wham!,' he pointed out, as if Eddie hadn't seen that.
'So?'
'Well, obviously you don't wanna listen to that.'

Also, while I’m here. Could you do 2, 4, 6, 13, 17 and 18 for the ask game if those haven’t been answered? Or pick any of those cuz it’s a lot.
-🌲
2. Do you read/reread your own fics?
Absolutely. I write my fics for myself first and foremost, so yeah I reread them a lot. It doesn't hit the same as it would reading someone else's fic, but there are so many times I want a very specific niche of content I can't find and I'm just like "well gotta do it myself." A lot of times I even get distracted from writing bc I start rereading a different fic of mine. that almost happened with world forgetting last night but I pulled myself out before I could start rereading it bc I had stuff to do lmao
4. How many WIPs do you have right now?
Uh. This depends on your definition of WIP. If you mean something in progress I know for sure I will continue posting, then 2 right now (glass and tinfoil) (and also the series that roses was a prequel to but I haven't started properly writing it yet I've just been doing a ton of worldbuilding for it recently). But if we're talking anything in progress that I might end up posting at some point but probably won't... too many to count
6. Are there any fics from others you reread all the time?
the thing is with the fics I REALLY enjoyed (like from a storytelling perspective) I won't actually reread that much because if I do, I want to sit down and do it properly yknow? so the fics I reread tend to be easier, simpler one shots or just snippets of fluff fics if I just need a shot of serotonin straight to the brain. I will say though, I make it a point to reread ritual purposes by thanotaphobia on a semi-regular basis because there's just something about the atmosphere and the story and all of it that really hits for me. just the way roxy describes small details scratches an itch in my brain so I adore rereading it just to pick up on those smaller bits
13. How much planning do you do before writing?
If it's a 'smaller' fic (ie: anything below 100k words like honey and tangerines and below) then I'll usually do a loose bullet point outline of the entire thing before I start writing. if it's one of my big fics then when I start I usually know the beginning, the end, and some in between scenes I know I'll throw in at some point, but that's it. I'll do a loose bullet outline usually 2-3 chapters at a time, but I won't plot out the entire thing in one go because then I'll get bored of it. Coming up with most of the plot as I go helps me to not only keep myself interested, but I feel like it helps the plot flow better because I get into a rhythm with the story and I can let it go places I didn't originally plan
17. What’s something you’ve learned about while doing research for a fic?
well the other day I googled "heat capacity of rivers" doing research for the eventual big royalty fic I'm gonna do after glass is over so. learning a lot of climate stuff! (apparently the reason coastal cities have a cooler, more stable climate than inland areas is because of the heat capacity of the ocean so I wanted to see what the heat capacity of a river would be and if a river would have a similar if less noticeable effect on the climate of a town)
18. What’s one of your favorite lines you’ve written in a fic?
I usually answer with the same thing every time so I tried finding a different answer to this question this time around
Tumblr media
I really loved this whole segment I wrote in the penultimate chapter of stars. especially the lines about Prince Theseus being a child of Eldingvegr itself. Idk what I was on but I just love the mental image this provokes
ty for these spruce!!

For the wip ask game!! Dude both For the Dancing and the Dreaming and The Susan Problem intrigue me so much (I don't think you've ever mentioned For the Dancing and the Dreaming LMAO)
As for The Susan Problem, that's always such a good premise. I adore Narnia and have been interested in that particular part of the story for ages now!! I'm very curious as to how you're gonna tackle it!!
If you don't mind, would you like to share some things about these wips? <333
Phew, sorry I took so long to respond but I was rushing all week to make a costume for the new hunger games movie premiere! I finished it just in time to see the movie yesterday
I don't wanna accidentally spoil plot stuff but For the Dancing and the Dreaming will be a short Snoggletog focused fic, sort of the otwd version of Gift of the Night Fury and Homecoming but it will progress the plot. No huge drama but a lot of interpersonal drama and cozy Snoggletog vibes (idk if you can tell from itpn but I'm just obsessed with the vibes of Snoggletog on Berk). There's 3 things in this fic I'm really excited for:
It takes place a full year after itpn, so we get updates on how everyone's doing and there's a larger time jump between itpn and totg that this fic sits in the middleish of
It's split between the POVs of the whole gang, not just the 3 (including Baldur in his fic) POVs we've seen so far. However there will be 1 new POV in itpn, so there's really only 1 new one left for this
Cute new outfits! Idk if I'll have the energy for the usual fancy character portraits but I'll at least sketch them all like I did for Zephyr's Thawfest dress.
The Susan Problem is named after Gaiman's famous "The Problem of Susan" essay. I don't agree with the idea that there's a sexism problem with Lewis's portrayal of Susan rejecting Narnia in the last book since she's based on his own experience losing his faith as an adult and then returning later. He said that Susan would find her way back to Aslan's Country on her own, so I tried to imagine what that story might look like if he'd written it:
After a year or two living in America, Susan returns to Cambridge for Christmas with her aunt and uncle. She tends to avoid painful memories after her family all died in the book 7 train crash, but oddly her aunt finds her bow and horn in the attic storage. When Susan curiously blows the horn she accidentally brings some of the things that couldn't be destroyed with the rest of Narnia, like the gods Tash and Bacchus, into our world along with some of her vague Narnian memories. I include a lot of strange things like moving stained glass windows, snow sprites dancing in a blizzard, and Peter's voice which is revealed to be the god Apollo acting as a sort of guardian angel guiding her to save our world from some of the darker entities that have crept through the door. Inspired by Lewis's writing about Apollo on a trip to Delphi, the inclusion of greek myth in Narnia, and use of sun imagery with Aslan and Peter, Apollo here is actually another form of Aslan.
I LOVE Lewis's strange, abstract and Hellenistic portrayal of Christianity in Narnia. The borderline fever dream quality it often has feels very me, like Nuffink's dream about the three suns and tall grass and the red man. So I really enjoyed creating my own Narnia story with a Christmas fever dream quality to it! Here's a snippet of my favorite part:
The spectral form became more and more solid, like a person walking toward you with a spotlight behind him. The light dazzled her eyes, and she squinted into it. “Susan,” he repeated. As he stepped forward she could just make out his brilliant golden hair and magnificent shining crown. “Peter!” she shrieked, rushing towards the light and into the very glow that surrounded him. “Oh, Peter, I knew that you were only—” But she stopped short, because within the light he became clear, and she realized with a start that the man wasn’t her brother at all. His crown was rays of pure golden rippling light, not rubies and oak leaves. His hair flowed around his collarbone like Peter’s once had a long time ago, when he was much older than the age he’d died. This man looked her brother’s age though, and his face had the youthful but strong, honest, kingly look of Peter’s. She felt all kinds of sorrow and longing and curiosity. Wariness, too. “Who are you?” The specter smiled softly. “Gentle Susan of the Horn,” he greeted her with a deep, familiar voice. “I am called Apollo, the destroyer.” She frowned. “The destroyer,” she repeated, taking an unconscious step back, but his smile only grew in a way that reached his eyes, light crow’s feet crinkling with amusement. She found that when she stepped away, he became more obscured. “Do not worry,” he told her. “I am the lord of plagues and truth, but I am also the bringer of cures and protector of the herd. The bow you carry is mine, for I am the lord of archery. I am the southern sun, sworn to you. Harm will not come to you by my hand.”

hi!!! i'm interested to see how you plan/take notes for longer fics! would u mind showing an example???/notforced
idk if this makes any sense SORRY
no no, i get you , don't worry!
I will warn you in advance though that I’m not great at like, making plans for stories, I’m definitely more of a ‘take it chapter by chapter’ person. I’ve tried sitting down and writing a plan from beginning to end for stories before, but it just really bores me and seems a bit pointless because I never end up following them anyway. Stories do often change as you write them, and what seemed like a good idea on a bullet point list doesn’t always actually work well on the page. Also, I just feel like it gives me a bit more wiggle room/freedom if I don't have a strict list of plot points to adhere to.
I usually have two different sets of notes, the first being just a few bullet points about the basic premise, character arcs/backstories, world-building, potential idea for dialogue or scenes, and generally important information to remember (this is just a snippet of the notes, I have a whole document just for notes like this and so far, it's three pages long)
Tumblr media
And my chapter-by-chapter notes.
Tumblr media
I feel like I have to explain this a bit - I usually start writing before I start making notes, just a few paragraphs or so to get me into the grove and give me a clear idea of the set-up of the chapter, and then it’s just- pure stream of consciousness. No punctuation, no spelling, nothing, I play the scene out in my head and write everything down from just essential points to potential dialogue, to descriptions, the emotions of the characters- absolutely everything. Sometimes that means my notes are a bit incomprehensible, as you can see, but oh well. They don't need to be good, they just need to give me an idea of how the chapter will go.
Then it’s rinse and repeat, I’ll start writing a bit of the new chapter, stop, make notes, move on to the next etc with breaks in-between to go back and actually write out those notes into a full chapter, maybe later them to align more with new plot points/ideas I've had for the story etc
Tumblr media
For me, this technique works well as it both gives me a bit of a plan to work with, but not so much of one that it feels stifling.
Sorry if this is a bit messy and all over the place - legitimately for this fic I have notes: on my phone note app, on google docs, and on a notepad. It’s a bit chaotic over here.

hiii baz<33 honestly i don't think the lack of engagement on ao3 is because people don't care or like your writing but because you also posted the whole fic on here too and people are usually lazy so they probs just continued reading the fic under the read more instead of going to ao3 and that's why you're seeing more engagement on tumblr then on there. something you can do for longer fics in the future is just post a little preview of the beginning of the fic and then add a link to continue reading on ao3. that way you can direct them there and they can leave kudos / comments and then also come back to tumblr and rb the fic post !
hi nonnie <3 thank you for these encouraging words. I think i just… get in my head? and maybe i set too high of standards for myself. but it also feels like… why do i have 7.6k followers and yet only 50 kudos on my latest fic? like, why do people follow me if it’s not for my writing? and if people do follow me for my writing, why aren’t they interacting with it?
I have actually tried that several times- the idea of just posting a snippet on tumblr with a link to the whole fic on ao3. but then I’ve had people complain or tell me they’re too lazy to click the link or don’t like reading fics on ao3 so they won’t read the fic or interact with the post at all if the whole fic isn’t posted on tumblr too. Idk. I feel like i can’t win. maybe next time I’ll try that again- the idea of only posting the first snippet on tumblr and having everyone read the rest on ao3. but that would mean I’d have to write another fic again and right now i just feel really discouraged and I’m questioning if i should just stop writing because i feel like i’m shouting into a void. and with having to re-study for the NAVLE again i just don’t have it in me to be questioning my place in the veterinary profession and questioning my place as a destiel writer too. I was really proud and happy with that fic yesterday for dean’s birthday… and the lack of interaction just makes me feel like I’ve lost my place in this fandom and i need to let dean and cas go and delete my ao3 and tumblr.

hi robin lol 1, 6, 7, 13, 14, 18 (ik you do but I want to know the answer to the second part), 22, 23, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 35, 36, 37, 42, 43, 49, 50, 51, 58, 61 (out of all of them), 62 and 63 (for a&a), 64 (for ginger tea) 68, 69, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 78, 79
so many !! fjdsklaf (ask meme here) i'll put most of the answers under a read more cause its long
1. Do you daydream a lot before you write, or go for it as soon as the ideas strike?
oh i daydream for sure. my fics tend to start as a single paragraph elevator pitch, basically, in my brainstorming document. And i'll daydream and experiment a little at what scenes that would include, what character interactions, different moods and settings—the Vibes. then i can start outlining. even though i can type quickly, my thoughts still move faster, and i feel i need to think things out before i start typing something and forget the other ideas in my head
6. What's the last line you wrote?
"The infant whimpers in the arms of the woman beside the pulpit. Snufkin eyes flick to her for a moment, Moomintroll sees. He adjusts the large scarf across his shoulders. His words stumble, just a little." — from a&a
7. Post a snippet from a wip.
Moomintroll’s paw twitched on the small of Snufkin’s back. Squeezed slightly. Hardly daring, Snufkin pressed his forehead into Moomintroll’s chest, breathing in his scent. Light, at first, and then sinking in. Fresh bread and laundry soap. A tinge of alcohol on his breath.
13. Do you listen to music while you write?  If yes, what have you been listening to recently?
I used to (as in just two years ago) be able to listen to music or have old youtube videos on in the background as I wrote. I wrote about half of "chlorine & corticosteroids", probably, with jenna marbles videos playing in the background. but something changed in my brain and now i need Silence or maybe a looping instrumental song. I like Erik Satie's "Gnossiène no. 3".
14. What is your favorite location and position to write in?
Most often, I write in my room, crouched over or lying on my stomach very babygirl. Favorite though is writing in the patio of my local library. Outdoors, nice weather, free wifi and power outlet. I can have a little beverage and look at trees and birds.
18. Do you enjoy research?  Which fic of yours required the most research?
As we both know, of Course i enjoy research jfdskla the one that required the most was probably "chlorine & corticosteroids" actually. It was the longest fic I had written at the time, so there were more little details I wanted right. Also it was about ulcerative colitis, a condition I don't have, so I wanted to do research to get it right. Medical information, of course, but also forums and reddit threads and tumblr posts by people with UC to get a feel for actual life with it. The experience of being on a low-fiber medical diet, of EDCs relating to fecal incontinence and ileostomy bags. Also also because I set it in Flagstaff, Arizona: a place I have never been to. So I spend a lot of time on google maps looking at different neighborhoods and bus routes and knowing where everything in the city was. I might have spent more time researching a&a, but i think the research for c&c was more necessary. then again, i did read whole books for a&a so. idk.
22. Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process?  How do you come up with titles?
already answered !
23. Is writing the beginning, middle, or end of the story easiest? Hardest?
I do this thing, for the beginning of a story (or chapter) that I have the outline establish a few sentences, then start writing what is functionally the second paragraph. And then I can never think of a good first line, so I just make that "second" paragraph into the first. And I feel it usually works? I think it skips the boring little establishing bits and catches interest better. Wrt outlining though and broader plots? I don't really think the beginning, middle, or end is the hardest. I'll have really strong visions for specific scenes, and I just have to figure out how to fill in between them. I guess most of those are in the middle, but the middle is also just the biggest part of the story, so I don't think it's fair to say it's the hardest for that.
25. What’s your favorite part of the writing process (worldbuilding, brainstorming/outlining, writing, editing, etc)?
Worldbuilding can be fun because of all the research, but I feel sometimes I get too in the weeds and lose steam. I try to reign myself in and research as I go when needed. I write my outline and a notable amount of prose all at once, bouncing around a little, and then the outline is simply cannabalized by the prose.  I do that especially with dialogue, where I write most of the actual "script" so to speak on my first pass and then add the tags and pacing sentences after. I think that first pass is the most exciting, where I can see the story change from ideas in my head into a more concrete vision.
26. What’s your least favorite part of the writing process?
when i write and can't immediately think of what joins moments together, i'll fill it in with a placeholder, like [few sentences] or [transition]. sometimes they're more specific, like [back and forth about scheduling] but sometimes i don't have an idea for what goes there. and sometimes filling in those gaps is like pulling teeth
27. What area of writing do you feel strongest in?
mood and tone, i think, are my strongest. the sort of atmosphere and how the air hangs and all that
28. What area of writing do you want to improve in?
I definitely do want to get more comfortable writing sex scenes. I think they're a rich vein of narrative and character and symbolic importance and I want to practice that more. I also want to get better at more complex narratives. All my stories, mostly given their length, have only had the capacity for a single plot, and maybe small threads of others. In a few years, I'd like to be able to write something with definite A and B plots.
29. What’s something about your writing that you’re proud of?
answered here !
30. How much do you edit your fics?  Do you edit as you write or wait until you finish the first draft?
This kind of goes back to the outline turning into the prose. Usually I get a sentence in that's just very plain text what happens, and then I'll go in after and backfill actual prose. And usually I know as I write what spots need reworking, and I'll leave a comment to myself (e.g. "rephrase" or "move to [x] paragraph" or "would he be this direct"). Or it'll simply be a word that I want to run in a thesaurus cause the perfect word isn't coming to me at the moment but I don't want to lose momentum so I just flag it for later. But I don't think I do a lot of editing tbh. Sometimes I read over finished chapters to catch repetitive lines and such, but a lot of big structural editing I do as I write in the outline stage.
35. What’s your favorite fic you’ve posted? (L)
Favorite that I've posted might be "Black Cohosh". I think it was a change in direction into the kind of stuff I really enjoy writing now: a sort of moody, introspective piece weighted with symbolism. Also bees. I also really like "chlorine & corticosteroids" in the sort of same-but-opposite way. It's definitely a modern piece with a modern voice, and I think it has a good tonal balance between the humor and affection of Jesse and Lake becoming close and the weight of Jesse facing his dangerous people-pleasing and Lake's and Tulip's experiences with ableism.
36. What fic are you proudest of? (L)
Proudest of is definitely a&a. It's the longest thing I've written and the most unapologetic, I think. It took a lot to include the plot points I was nervous about, but I think it was worth it
37. What fic has been the hardest for you to write?
answered here !
42. What’s your favorite title that you’ve come up with?
I think "Sweetpea & Daffodil" is a good title on the floriographic front. "gratitude & please return my affection" really fits the theme of what happens in it, the letters to ones own disabled body which read like two lovers in pain and desperate to make it work. tbh i think my floriographic titles have all been pretty apt, cause these emotions are exactly what the code is built for. Yellow rainflower standing for friendship but also betrayal, undying love but also infidelity. Lavender symbolizing devotion and distrust. I also like "chlorine & corticosteroids" for its contrast, showing the two very different worlds of Jesse and Lake respectively, and seeing them interact.
43. Is there a trope or idea that you’d really like to write but haven’t yet?
Oh I have a wip called "Common Courtesy", focused on Snufkin and Pappa's interactions, where Pappa Does An Ableism and then instead of actually apologizing, builds a ramp to Moominhouse, and is a little Too expectant of praise for it. Getting into infrastructural segregation and Moominpappa's inability to apologize and just. Seeing these two very different but equally stubborn men interact.
49. What fic of yours would you say is the best introduction to you as a writer?
I think "Ginger Tea and Parsley Oil" is a decent introduction to the style and topics that I like to go into. lmao i just read it again and ive definitely gotten better (so much of it feels clunky to me now!) but i think that's a good an entry as any
50. How would you describe your writing style?
A part of my writing style I've put a lot of focus on for years is word choice. There's a sort of emotional depth, I think, that can be found in words that sound a little unnatural. As if each one had a pause before you spoke it. My backburner OC story Ink Blots has a significant portion of dialogue between people speaking in a mutually non-native lingua franca, so there's always this sort of haze of people translating things in their head, how this translation affects how they speak. And I think that's something that I've transferred into my fic writing too.
51. Does what you like to write differ from what you like to read?
For sure! tbh i haven't been reading much fic lately, but books I like to read are often different than what I write. I've liked Kurt Vonnegut for many years now, who has a much more blunt style than I do: much shorter word length and simple grammar. And I love Jane Austen, who writes very differently from me in both content (satires about the English landed gentry) and style (quippy dialogue and sometimes meandering prose). I've also enjoyed epistolary novels, like Dracula and Ella Minnow Pea. I've never written epistolary works before, but it seems fun
58. Do you have a favorite piece of figurative language you’ve written?
hard to pick! i use a lot of it fdjaskl i'd say one i like is in a&a chapter 16:
There's a single word sitting in the middle of the table. It's heavy. The wooden legs creak and groan under its weight. Moomintroll fears putting anything else down even a little too roughly will make the table collapse.
i think it's evocative, effective, and i was able to play with it the whole rest of the chapter with characters' interactions with the physical table they were sitting at mirroring their approaches and avoidances of the topic at hand
61. In [all of your fics], what’s your favorite scene that you wrote?
idk about favorite cause that's a tough question, but i really like the scene in "Yellow Rainflower" where Alicia and Snufkin are talking at night about why Snufkin took so long to come back and never even wrote her. I think it was good move into the stuff I like to do now: conversations beginning to put equal or more weight into what is unsaid than what is actually said.
62 .In [acacia & asphodel], is there a deleted scene/idea you wish you could have included? Why did it get cut?
Oh when I was figuring out a&a, I wasn't really sure of its format. Would it be a one-shot series, a single piece, something in between? I have a bunch of little ideas but there are two I am a little sad to see go. One is where Alicia takes in a stray cat, and there's some fun little banter between them over it. But it's one that includes Sisu as a toddler so when I narrowed the scope of the fic to just the pregnancy and Sisu's first few days of life, I had to cut it cause it wouldn't make sense for her to do it then. Another is a sort of scrapped epilogue, where Moomintroll paints Snufkin giving Sisu a bath in the sink. I cut it cause for one just like before it required Sisu to just be a little bit older (though by just a few months), and also it was redundant with the closing chapter I have already. Also it felt a little too neat and tidy, and I wanted a more ambiguous ending that signified another beginning, not something that could read more as a happily-ever-after.
63. What was the hardest part of writing [acacia & asphodel]?
answered here !
64 . If you rewrote [Ginger Tea] now, would you change anything?
I like Parsley Oil as it is alright, but I think I would restructure Meadowsweet. More internal monologue, less verbal monologue. I think there are things that Snufkin would think but not say out loud that I had him say out loud and are just a little Too Vulnerable for him to voice.
68. Are there any fics that influenced you to write the way you do?
I feel like that would be really hard to trace. I've read a lot of fic jfkdlsa I like to read through entire tags of a fandom (a character or ship or another tag), or sometimes the entire fandom's tag on ao3. I think looking at different fandoms though, my writing style is very influenced by Pathologic fics I've read. The symbolism and the moodiness and the weight and the politics are all,I feel, lifted more from those works than a lot of Moomin fics.
69. What are your favorite fics at the moment?
i'm not reading any fics at the moment jfkdsl  favorites that i've had, though, include "Gracilis", "Darling, Oh", "The Little Book of Daffodils", and "Moss". I also really like Weevilo707's Infinity Train fics.
72. What’s your favorite writing compliment you’ve gotten?
I love getting complimented on symbolism, especially when it's something I didn't really notice myself doing. Like when I was doing it, I knew something was meaningful and important and so put it in, but I couldn't articulate how, and then I see someone put all my own thoughts into words. It really reminds me of why I love sharing my writing—I love the collaborate discussion and the enthusiasm with which I can talk to my friends about it.
73. What do you tend to get complimented on the most about your writing?
Often symbolism—especially lately, cause a&a has had a lot of symbolism and narrative parallels, and I love talking about that. I also get compliments on research (of course) and on specific gut-punch lines, often at a chapter's end.
74. Do you have a fic you wish got a bit more love?
answered here !
75. Is there a particular fic that readers gravitated towards that you didn’t expect?
answered here !
76. How do you deal with writing pressure, whether internal or external?
I think the external pressure I face writing is not in regards to writing what gets more attention—I've tried writing it and know it does better but also I know it doesn't feel as rewarding or interesting to write—but in avoiding topics of controversy. Including sex scenes, discussions of sex work and of eugenics and abortion, showing sexual harassment and antisemitism, depicting the common instances of ableism that I'm certain a notable amount of my readers have performed themselves. The controversial stuff, the kind of stuff that gets strangers to rally against you, can be scary to share. Internally, sometimes I do feel pressure to keep to a publishing schedule, feeling like I "owe" readers a regular update. But ultimately, I know that's not true. I'm a regular guy and a pretty busy one at that. Writing a novel for fun and for free? This is something I'll do when I have time and if I treat it too much like another job then I'll lose my love of it.
78. What motivates you during the writing process?
for general writing, the sort of "get-er-done" motivation, I like to get inspired. I read my old stuff, I listen to the playlists that I made, I make amvs in my head. Something that will get me emotionally invested in the art. There's also the motivation wrt the content of what I write, and for that I keep thinking about this anon I got, a disabled person who was really touched by the first sex scene in a&a, saying they hadn't felt represented in a sex scene before. That's just a really poignant thing for me, to be able to make another disabled person feel seen. Stuff like that, hearing from other disabled people, seeing our shared experiences—that's really motivating too, encouraging me to keep writing what I'm writing, because while it might be niche, there's an audience that really cares.
79. Do you have any writing advice you want to share?
One of the biggest things that's helped me is analyzing the writing of other's—stuff you like, stuff that's just not your taste but effective, and stuff that just sucks. Why do certain things work and others not? Where's the line between personal taste and common consensus—and is that line where you feel it should be, and why that? I've loved film analysis, and video essays about films. I think that sort of critical thinking is really helpful for knowing how to construct your writing. (robin ?? suggesting research ??? who could have guessed)

@candle-lion the stupid fanfic asks part 1/3, “all divisible by 3” 🫡
3: on a scale of 1-10 how much do you enjoy incorporating romance into the average story?
A solid 8! I’m a hopeless romantic at heart. I like fluffy romantic shit
6: do you have any kind of consistent writing schedule or just hoping for the best?
I write about the same times when I do write, but I’m pretty spontaneous about it. I like to write at night, but I don’t set aside specific time’s necessarily
9: in an ideal world where you’re already super successful and published, would you want to see a tv or movie adaptation of your work? why or why not?
YES. That would be COOL AS FUCK. I will say, I would be incredibly disappointed if it was a bad adaptation, but it would be cool to see the characters I’ve created on screen anyway. Plus I can bitch with the fans about what they got wrong and I think it would be fun
12: do you ever have trouble focusing on writing? how do you get around that?
Yes, constantly. Usually I will just power through, some good music and a sprint usually helps. However, sometimes I find that stepping back, having a snack, some water, and/or a nap and then trying again helps.
15: where do you share your writing?
Here, AO3, occasionally Discord. My irls can see my og stuff but they don’t see my fics.
18: what is your most and least favorite part of writing?
Favorite is when the plot clicks into place and when I get to reread That Scene in a fic that I’ve been SO excited for. Lead favorite is when the plot ISN’T clicking or I feel like I’ve written myself into a corner. Also the imposter syndrome!
21: pick a writer to co-write a book with and tell us what you’d write about.
You. Monsterfucking. Next question. /j Uuuuuuh Idk really. I am ashamed of how little I’ve read recently and not a lot of Authors come to mind. Suzanne Collins would be fun but she’s too Big Brain for me. Realistically if any of the mutuals asked me to collab, I’d probably be down tho
24: on average, how much writing do you get done in a day?
I’m all in or nothing. I’ll do 3-4k in a night or nothing for 3 days.
27: do you share rough drafts or do you wait until it’s all polished? And who do you share them with?
I share rough drafts with other writer friends (you’ve seen snippets of course). Never the whole bit really, but parts I like or I’m excited about or want advice on.
30: most inspirational quote you’ve ever read or heard that’s still important to you.
Not a specific quote, but that queering the map project? I think about that a lot. The way it’s people trying to give inspiration, trying to survive, trying to make each other laugh. It’s very showing of the kindness of humanity, I think. I want to make a journal of inspirational quotes and bits of writing that I’ve read, I’ve actually already got the empty journal, so I’ll probably be obnoxious about that!!
33: do you start with the characters or the plot when writing?
With fic, characters. It’s easier for me to begin kind of sorting through the roles and figuring out how characters fit, and work on the plot from there. With original stories, I’ll generally get a basic plot > a main character or two > the rest of the plot > then the rest of the cast
