hey so ive been reading tpg and first off god i love your characterisations, the fight scenes, the found family, ough its all so good thank u for writing this
second, damn when will nanami catch a break, man's got so many death flags he's had 3 near death experiences. manifesting that he gets a domain or something to boost his survivability chance up to 'can handle more than 1 near death experience per new person encountered'
ahh i'm so happy you've been enjoying it!! fight scenes are my absolute favorite thing to write, so getting compliments on them always makes me ;__; <333
and PFFT. to be fair, nanami is the only character who's won all the fights he's been in. he beat chimera of the highlands back in ch11 (albeit with yuuji's help) and then obv higuruma in 34. getou's 1-1 vs rika and toji respectively, and while toji's technically been in 3 fights (vs getou, gojo, and durga kaijin all the way back in ch4), his fight with gojo was a tie
nanami really has gone thru it though huh. in my defense, i've been putting characters that die in canon through the most physical turmoil on purpose (since he'll obviously have a better fate in tpg)
#yes i name all my oc curses. no i will never mention their names in the actual fic#the next big fight in tpg changes one of these W-L ratios for one of these characters. hope this helps#i don't rlly count what happened with nanami and rika as a fight since he just pushed toge out of the way#as quickly as possible without thinking because even a split second longer to prepare an attack wouldve been too late#tpg

⁺ 𖹭 . genre: angst
⁺ 𖹭 . a/n: i loveee me some angst so i hope you'll enjoy! <3 seungmin's part is slightly longer because i wrote it for my beloved keisy @starlostseungmin <3
𝜗୧ chan 𝜗୧ - he chose work over pursuing his feelings for you.
He knows how you feel about him, and you know how he feels about you. Things couldn’t be simpler.
But in reality, things were more complicated than ever. Yes, Chan did in fact confess, but with the same breath he also told you this could never go any further.
You were devastated, confused and sad, not understanding what was going on through that bright mind of his.
You liked each other, you both wanted this – so, what was the issue?
It wasn’t you, it could never be. It was him, as always.
He was too busy, his job too demanding to leave any room for you and the precious feelings you’ve developed for him.
Chan felt like he didn’t deserve your love, because he could never be there for you in the way you needed a boyfriend to be.
He could never be there every morning when you woke up, kiss you goodbye each time you left the house or greet you with a big hug when you returned. He just couldn’t, too caught up in work to even notice the hours tick by.
You didn’t deserve an absent lover, one that could not put you first.
No matter how much he cared, how much his whole being longed for you, his job would always be his main priority. Then, his seven brothers. While you, would end up being third on his list.
It pained him to admit it, and even more so admit it to you but since he respected you so much, you deserved nothing but the truth.
This information crushed you, every word that left his mouth a stone that contributed to the mountain you were quickly getting buried under.
“But I love you.”
He shook his head, brown curls getting into glossy eyes. “I love you too, but we – I, can’t.”
At the end, just as you were preparing to depart his studio, he stood up. Without thinking, you hugged tightly, aware this would be the last time before things would change forever.
“Please don’t be sad because of me.”
How could you not? How did he expect you to not mourn the beautiful relationship you could have had, if only he wasn’t so against it?
If only he would have chosen you.
𝜗୧ minho 𝜗୧ - because he broke up with you.
Yeah, pro idol Minho ended your relationship on a random Thursday night, taking everyone but most importantly you, by complete surprise.
“Let’s break up.”
You can’t believe your ears, especially since you’re in his house, eating the food he just prepared for the both of you, in his kitchen while wearing one of his shirts.
Nothing was amiss, nothing even prompted it. Things have been going great in your relationship – there was no recent argument or disagreement that could explain his sudden decision.
Blames it on his work and his hectic schedule, trying to appear as detached and unaffected as he possibly could. But you know better; you see it all.
The way his fist clenches over the dish rag, how his eyes won’t meet yours even for a split second. This isn’t something he wants to do, not in the slightest. Yet, here he is, breaking both of your hearts for a reason he doesn’t even bother revealing.
It stings in the worst way possible, even more so when you stand up to hug him and he just puts a hand up, stopping you in your tracks.
“Please, Y/n. Don’t make this harder for me.”
Tears well up in your eyes and that’s when he looks away, slumping against the counter as a sniff reaches his ears. He’s gripping the wood with such force you’re afraid it might actually snap.
“Why are you doing this? What’s going on?”
But Minho doesn’t respond, not even as you start crying and begging him to talk to you, to tear down the wall he suddenly plopped right between you two in your relationship.
He’s so close, mere inches away, but his heart that belonged to you, that always responded to yours, is suddenly grabbed harshly out of your hands and shipped away to an unknown destination.
“Minho.” You sniff, not hiding your tears or the pain that’s slowly ripping your heart to pieces and letting them fall all the way down to your stomach, trying to escape from the torture. Because even the idea of not having him in your life was pure torture.
“I think you should go.”
He walks past you, head hung low as he throws the dish rag on the table without saying anything else, putting an end to the conversation. An end to your relationship. Throwing it all away like the time spent together meant absolutely nothing to him.
Like it was the easiest thing in the world.
But it wasn’t, not like he’d ever let see you the way he broke down as you slammed the front door shut, walking out of his life for good. Even if you didn’t agree, it was better this way.
Your life was better, and happier, without him in it. That’s what he kept murmuring to himself as he slid to the ground, against his bedroom door, crying while clutching his chest, afraid his heart might stop beating.
It was all for the better.
𝜗୧ changbin 𝜗୧ - is already in a relationship.
The most stupid thing you can ever do in this lifetime is fall in love with someone who’s already in love with another.
Not only is he in love, he’s also in relationship that’s been going on for three beautiful years.
The thing is, you haven’t always had feelings for Changbin.
It was weird, really. For the longest time now, he was just your bubbly co-worker who laughed so loud the whole department could hear him. The mood maker of the company.
It happened on the annual Christmas party, where you drunk a little too much as you were nursing a broken heart after your ex dumped you out of the blue.
The whole world was spinning but you were happy – happier than you’ve been in months.
Noticing you could barely stand, Changbin ever the gentleman, offered to drive you home.
You complained and complained but after some more convincing from him, Changbin managed to coax you onto the passenger seat of his sports car.
You were silent the whole ride but as he parked on your driveway, he gasped, worriedly grasping your hands and exclaiming about the tears on your cheeks. You didn’t even notice you were crying.
But that’s when the dam broke and it all came to the surface, tears flowing freely down your face and neck as you sobbed, telling Changbin everything from beginning to end.
And he listened, holding your hands and nodding when appropriate, offering you the occasional sip of water or a tissue to wipe your face, not interrupting once.
His heart broke for you, unaware his mere presence was already working on mending yours.
The next morning, you almost didn’t show up to work as you remembered everything, how you made a fool out of yourself in front of everyone but especially Changbin. But something pushed you to do so.
As you arrived, a care basket was on your desk, accompanied by a little note with a crooked smiley face and then, he appeared, doing the exact same expression.
And you laughed, wholeheartedly. And you continued to do so as you began taking your lunch breaks together, working side by side and even taking turns on driving the other home.
Falling for him was inevitable, but you didn’t mind, all warm and fuzzy on the inside as the heart your ex broke was anew.
That is, until you met her. You and Changbin became so close that he couldn’t help but want to introduce you to his other half, the woman who loved him unconditionally that knew a little too much about you.
And just like that, your heart shattered once again, the pieces so tiny they were easily blown away in the wind, leaving behind a big whole were all of your love once resided. How could you be so stupid to believe someone could ever love you again?
𝜗୧ hyunjin 𝜗୧ - you found out he was in love with someone else.
Plain and simple, as heartbreaking as it sounds.
Let me paint this picture: you two are best friends, each other’s safe places. You always talk about everything and anything with one another, feeling comfortable to share even your darkest secrets.
Because of that, you genuinely thought he might even reciprocate your feelings at some point.
But one day, as you’re both hanging out at your house, watching a movie, all of the hope and daydreams you held in your heart for a happy ending with him just get crushed.
He suddenly dumps this new information on you while he’s casually munching on some popcorn, watching the couple on the screen confess their love for each other like your heart didn’t just stop beating.
You’re so taken aback that you stop breathing for a moment, looking at him with wide eyes.
For some strange reason, Hyunjin doesn’t meet your gaze even as it goes silent between you two and your eyes keep burning holes into the side of his head.
Only when you finally tear your gaze away, eyes glossy as you try to murmur encouraging words does he finally turn to you.
His breath hitches in his throat at the sight but other than that, he doesn’t comment on it.
The whole ordeal feels like a slap in the face, hurting more than any physical injury you’ve ever sustained but, it’s not like you could blame anyone but yourself for it. You’ve missed your chance and now, Hyunjin was going to be in a happy relationship with someone else.
So, as expected from any best friend put in that situation, you say through gritted teeth.
“You should confess.”
Hyunjin searches your face for any sign of discomfort and finds many – but, as expected, doesn’t say anything, just looks away and nods slowly. Like he just can’t maintain eye contact for more than five seconds at a time.
And that’s the end of it. The whole vibe changes, now uncomfortable and cold and it’s clear that neither of you is paying any attention to the movie anymore.
But he still remains till the end, and when the credits start rolling, you stand up first and bid him goodnight without your usual warm smile or departing embrace before sprinting up the stairs to your room.
His heart squeezes painfully in his chest as your door slams shut, the tears in your eyes bringing him unexplainable sorrow.
And as he leaves your apartment that night, down in the dumps, you know things between you have changed forever.
Because that’s the last time you and Hyunjin talk.
𝜗୧ jisung 𝜗୧ - he hasn’t confessed yet.
Jisung has liked you for a while now but for some reason, every time he wanted to take that leap of faith and finally confess, something always came up.
You were interrupted, plans had to be cancelled or you were simply too busy to even talk to each other.
It was driving him insane, especially when he’d spot you at an event surrounded by people he felt he couldn’t push through, missing his chance at your attention every time.
He felt forced to watch you from the sidelines, a background character in your life that would never get his moment to shine.
You were friends, but he often felt he cared about you more than you cared about him and it was tearing him apart.
Each time you smiled or laughed at one of his jokes, everything around him disappeared as time seemed to come to a stop, making you look even more beautiful. Which was a hard thing to do since you were already perfect in his eyes.
His insecurities and crippling fear of rejection were literally ruining his life, preventing him from experiencing the love story he’s been yearning for.
Jisung was good at hiding his feelings from you, but sometimes, he slipped up.
Like that time, he held your waist for a little too long, or guided your hands over the piano keys like it was the most natural thing in the world. Those moments when he wasn’t overly conscious, when he got lost in the moment, were your favorite.
You see, in his mission to prevent you from discovering how insanely in love he was with you, Jisung managed to make you believe the opposite. That he hated you. Okay, maybe not hate, just strongly dislike.
Always avoiding being left alone with you, barely meeting your eyes or pulling away when you got a little too close. He seemed repulsed, and it hurt you.
Where you really that unpleasant in his eyes?
He was nice and bubbly around everyone else, no matter the gender. Why couldn’t he be the same Jisung whose smile made your heart skip several beats around you, too?
This went on for a long while, which solidified the idea he hated you in your head, until you couldn’t take it anymore.
One day, Jisung almost walked in on you and Felix…hugging on the practice room floor? His heart dropped, brows furrowing in confusion. Felix knew how he felt about you, he would never disregard that, right?
Everything clicked when he heard your muffled sobs and pained voice.
“I give up, Felix.” You said, hiding your face in his chest as a loud sob escaped you. “Jisung hates me, it’s official! I tried so, so hard but it was no use.” Felix murmured something back, deep voice uncharacteristically soft as he comforted you, caressing your back.
Jisung couldn’t hear what he said though, eyes filling with tears as the only thing resonating in his ears was the pounding of his own heart. You thought…he hated you?
𝜗୧ felix 𝜗୧ - because your relationship is too…complicated at the moment.
Complicated didn’t even begin to describe your relationship with the ray of sunshine.
He was your ex that somehow slithered his way back into your life again, only this time, as a friend. Not even, just an acquaintance that knew too many of your secrets and biggest aspirations.
There was no denying the feelings you still harbored for him, the flame flickering in your heart each time he was around; each time he spoke, he smiled, he laughed or even as much as looked at you, your heart thumped so loudly in your chest you were afraid he was able to hear it.
It was embarrassing, especially since he didn’t seem as affected.
Your relationship ended on a sour note – arguing, screaming, crying, the whole package.
Yet a few months later, when you happened to be at the same party, Felix accompanied by a friend walked up to you like nothing even happened, greeting you brightly.
It was horrible, and you almost cried right there and then, missing the way his doe eyes took in all of the little details that changed about you ever since you broke up, desperately committing them to memory.
Like he never wanted to forget, because he didn’t. Felix never wanted to forget about you, even if you didn’t love him anymore.
And so, this happened a few more times until the inevitable took place.
You kissed. And never spoke about it.
And then you kissed again, and again, until he was coming over to your house in the middle of the night to do more than kiss.
It messed with your head, the way he was looking at you – like you hung the stars on the night sky for him and him alone. Like he loved you and wasn’t breaking your heart each time those plush lips kissed every inch of your skin, worshipping every part of your body.
“Why do you keep coming back?” You’d whisper one night, resting your head on his naked chest as the moon bare witness to your unspoken feelings.
“You keep calling.”
“And when I’ll stop,” you move to look at him, face mere inches away from his, hands supporting your weight on his chest, “will you still come?”
He hesitates, staring straight into your eyes. “Most likely, yeah.”
“Why?”
“I don’t know.”
Yeah…complicated.
𝜗୧ seungmin 𝜗୧ - because he is your best friend.
For most, the transition from best friends to lovers was as natural as breathing, something inevitable that was bound to happen one way or the other. Not for Seungmin.
He didn’t even allow his mind to go down that road, to think about being more than friends with you, one of the people he held the closest to his heart.
Not because he didn’t have romantic feelings for you, but because he was afraid.
Yes, he was afraid that once that line was crossed, the one that kept you firmly in place in the beautiful friendship that only blossomed and became very special over the years, it would all disappear.
Things would change and shift, which would bring forth your downfall.
In his eyes, the risk of fighting and breaking up was too big for him to even consider taking your relationship to the next level. He didn’t want to lose you, never.
But what he failed to take into account was that you would not stay single forever.
That’s why, the moment you skipped over to him and squealed about having a date, his heart almost stopped beating.
His world was spinning, like an earthquake started in his head which was quickly crumbling down every single wall and boundary, and rational decision he ever made over the years.
“You…have a date?” He gulped, ignoring the alarms going off in his head that were deafening him. “With who?”
“This guy from work.” You shrugged, excitement dimming as your gaze met his, serious. “He isn’t the one I like, but I guess it will have to do for now.”
Seungmin wasn’t stupid but his heart understood your allusion before his mind did, thumping loudly and stealing his breath away.
You were talking about him. You were going out with another guy but were thinking about him – he was the one you liked!
Still, he didn’t vocalize a response, choosing to nod and pat you on the back gently, staring at anything else other than the disappointment that overwhelmed your whole frame, making you appear oh so small.
The day of your date arrived sooner than he’d like, and Seungmin was miserable, especially since you texted him the location ‘just in case’.
Usually, he was more than happy to know where you were, safe and sound, but this time he would have preferred you didn’t let him know you were with another guy at the restaurant you frequented together.
Hours passed, and night was making its presence known, but still no sign from you. Was he worried? No. Because for once, you staying out meant the date was a success and you were having the time of your life with this guy that wasn’t him.
That’s until, a mere half an hour later, loud knocking had him off the couch in a second, opening the door to find you frowning, and with tears in your eyes. Opening his mouth to speak, shocked, thinking something had happened on the date, your finger hitting his chest stopped him.
“Why didn’t you come?” You sniffed. “I thought going out with someone else would finally prompt you to admit that what we have is more than a simple friendship! Do you hate me that much?”
He was speechless, grabbing you by the elbows as you barged in, tears streaming down your face.
“Answer me, Kim Seungmin!” Well, he was fucked.
𝜗୧ jeongin 𝜗୧ - isn’t sure what he feels for you yet.
Or better yet, his commitment issues prevented him from admitting to any feelings he might have.
See, you weren’t just friends. You were a little more than that, spending most of your free time together going to cute cafes and what would be considered dates, acting all lovey dovey.
That is, when you weren’t spending the weekend bound to his bed. That wasn’t fair, sometimes he was the one tied up. A very mutual arrangement.
Jeongin managed to drag you into a situationship you were now too deep into to break off, having developed actual feelings.
But each time you tried to speak to him about said feelings, he’d close off quicker than a frightened snail, impossible to reach.
After each one of these occasions, he wouldn’t contact you for days on end, sometimes even weeks, leaving you wondering if he’d ever come back.
He always did, he couldn’t stay away from you no matter how much he tried.
Even if he messed with other people in that time, he’d still make his way back to you, smiling like nothing even happened and ready to give you all of his attention and affection again.
It was exhausting, and very, very painful.
But you still welcomed him back with open arms, too happy to see him to even care that each time he appeared in your life again, you were not the same.
Every time he disappeared and you didn’t say anything, a piece of your heart was ripped off harshly, stomped on and then thrown in the trash, devoid of any color or life. Like an old toy, forgotten in favor of a new, shiny one.
But Jeongin didn’t care. It’s not like he could be bothered to pick up your scattered pieces – they didn’t interest him, you did.
Not like he ever noticed the light in your eyes dimming each time he stormed back into your life after pretending you didn’t exist for weeks.
To be honest, you don’t think you’ll ever be together.
Not now, or in the future.
No matter how much you hated to admit it, the facts were neatly laid out before you – Jeonging didn’t care about you at all, no matter how sweet, loving or good you were to him.
He thought you couldn’t notice, that your love for him was too blinding for you to see anything else other than him.
But you did. And he also did when one day, for the first time since he met you, as he stumbled out of a bar, giddy and tipsy with his phone to his ear ready to hear your sweet voice, his call didn’t go through.

'understand that when you leave here
you'll be clear among the better man'
≪•◦ ❈ ◦•≫
you looked at the prince from across the table. you tried to find something—anything that'd remind you of her, so your agony will stop, or at least decrease. but even his green eyes, the same color as hers, weren't looking at you with such admiration. his sword was just as shiny, sharp and impressive, but it wasn't made to protect you. and his words, oh his words... they were smart and stern, slightly softening when speaking to you - his soon to be wife - but they were meaningless compared to hers.
you knew that's what awaits you, you were preparing for this moment since the day you were born, but this fact didn't make it any better - any easier to accept.
you peeked a last glance at him - the prince, considered being the most handsome out of all principalities. but he was also the love of your life, against your own will, and that made your body fill with disgust. your face heated up and your hands started shaking, so you stared down, trying to pretend you're focused on eating. the view of your plate, the not finished meal, made the nausea only worse.
you stood up, making a loud scraping noise when your chair moved on the wooden floor. everyone's eyes were on you.
your stare was shifting across the known and unknown faces for a split second, your gaze lingering for a little longer on your mother's disappointed, scolding face.
"i'm sorry." you muttered and quickly left the dining room, leaving a chord of whispering, probably gossiping voices behind you.
you felt your eyes starting to water up, single tears slowly falling down. you just pushed forward, hoping to find an empty corner in the hallways full of busy maids and other services.
"your highness?" someone asked, but you felt too overwhelmed to think who it was. eventually, the person forcefully grabbed your arm. even though the touch was soft and somehow comforting, you stopped walking and aggressively broke your hand free.
"how dare you—!" you shouted, sounding more sad than mad. whoever it was, you had to admit that touching princess like that was brave. you turned around and through your blurry from tears vision saw your knight, number one protector, staring at you in deep disbelief and concern. "i'm sorry." you murmured and quickly began making your way to your dorm again. you wiped your cheeks with your palm, not bothering to find a tissue in the pockets of your uncomfortable but pretty dress.
the footsteps won't stop - in fact, they surpassed you and their source blocked your way.
"what happened?" ellie asked, raising her arms to caress your face, but not doing it yet - not without your permission.
you grabbed her wrists and brought her hands to your face, leaning into her touch and falling apart in this exact second. she spent a moment trying to calm you down, but even her proximity wasn't enough. she started dragging you outside, before anyone could find you both like that.
she stayed quiet until you found yourself in the castle's backyard, decorated with every kind of flowers possible. it was already dark, since you spent the whole day preparing for your wedding. without a word, she lay down on the grass and patted the space next to her, motioning for you to do the same, and so you did. for a second nothing but silence comforted both of you. you looked at the stars, trying to find any constellations your teacher told you about. the last wet tears on your cheeks started to flow down, leaving only barely visible drying stains.
you thought about how ellie treats you, and how you treat her. does every princess feels so warm whenever her knight is near?
you felt embarrased at the thought, and about the current situation. you were allowed to cry. your cherries were too sweet? too sour? cry about it, blame everyone and act all hysterical because it's, obviously, the end of the world! you have every right to do that - you're the princess and everyone should risk their life if it means you will be satisfied.
no. you weren't like that. you didn't cry when you cut your palm with a kitchen knife or when the wound won't heal properly. you accepted the doctor's help and, what's unbelievable, thanked him for it. how could you be grateful to someone who isn't royal in any way? you'll never forget how mad your mother was back then.
while your gaze was on the sky, ellie's was on you. you could feel it, so you turned your head to the side - and you were right, prince's eyes were really nothing compared to hers.
she spoke up as soon as she saw she has your attention; "is it because of the stress?"
"stress?" you repeated, biting your bottom lip, almost making it bleed.
"maybe you're sick?" she put her hand on your forehead, surely trying to find an excuse to be close to you. or maybe she was really concerned? your cheeks were probably really red due to her closeness, she could misinterpret it. "are you feeling unwell, your highness?"
you looked away, trying to brush your flushness away by getting lost in the moonlight. the full moon was approaching, and you tried to guess how many days are there left. maybe four?
ellie's hand slowly slid down your face, stopping on your chin, before slowly leaving your body. "you should be excited." she stated, but her tone made it sound like she was ranting about it. maybe you're not the only one who's not happy about the situation.
"well, i'm not." you shrugged, trying to sound as emotionless as possible, though it probably made your discomfort even clearer. your eyes wandered around the sky and you raised your hand, pointing at seven stars. "look, big dipper."
she took a moment to find the constellation, before slowly and firmly pushing your arm down. "i need to know what's wrong." she sighed, her worried eyes begging you for an answer.
an answer you couldn't give her, because what were you supposed to say?
"you don't." you denied in a quiet tone.
"please," she continued, stubbornly not giving up, "i'm supposed to protect you."
another sigh, this time yours. you stayed silent for a moment, before spotting different stars creating a familiar shape. before your hand could fully raise, ellie held it down. in any other circumstances, she would get roughly punished for treating you like that. she was lucky you wanted to be treated like that - like a normal human, and not a piece of delicate glass.
"i don't want him." you finally admitted, rolling onto your side to look at her. "he doesn't want me, either."
she scanned your expression, her own seeming deadly serious. you looked down and saw some smudges of dirt on your dress, hoping your mother won't notice them.
she frowned a little, knitting her eyebrows together. "i'm sure he does."
"then he's bad at showing it." you muttered and saw her confusion deepen. "why would you bring me here?" you looked around and took a deep breath, enjoying the scent of flowers. their colorfulness was visible even despite the late, dark time, standing out above the solid green grass.
she thought about your question for a quite long time, not sure is it tricky or rhetorical. "i like this place." she finally spoke up, her lips turning into a soft smile.
"no, i'm asking..." you shook your head, fixing your rolled down sleeves. "why would you bring me here?"
this wasn't a question she expected. even you weren't planning it and now you regretted pushing this subject. what answer did you expect? no matter what would it be, you still wouldn't be satisfied.
"it's important to me." she tugged a loose strand of your hair behind your ear, before caressing your cheek. "and so are you." you stared at her lips as she spoke, admiring how soft they look even though the words leaving them were serious and important. as soon as she finished, your gaze shifted back to her eyes.
"i think—" you gulped, feeling the meaning behind her phrase weigh on you. "i think this is something i need to hear from the prince. from my—" husband. say it. the voice in your head tried to convince you it's not a bad word, but it just felt so wrong. you felt like you're close to breaking down everytime you remembered you're his wife. well, you'll be tomorrow.
"i mean what i said, your highness." her thumb traced the outline of your lips, as her own uncontrollably parted. your body trembled and your eyes closed shut for a while. before you opened them, you heard her body shifting and soon, you felt her lips on yours.
the kiss confirmed your belief that she is soft, but she was even softer than you imagined. her fingers glided across your face, gently stroking it and moving your hair out of the way. her body fit so perfectly into yours, like she was made for you, and you were made for her. you felt something strange in your stomach, like you just got rid of a knot inside it, though you didn't even know it was there in the first place. the time was fleeting but you managed to remember every little detail, so when she pulled away you let out a satisfied sigh.
"i'll miss you, ellie." ugh, addressing to a knight by their name in such a soft voice- if only your mother was there. but it was only you two, surrounded by the beautiful scent of flowers and stars which seemed to be hanging right above your heads.
she smiled, though there was a hint of surprise, maybe confusion, in her expression. "i'm not going anywhere."
"but once i'm married, i'll leave with the prince." you stammered, your eyes suddenly glistening. her own became glossy, like they were covered in a thin mirror glass which perfectly reflected the moonlight. "i have to." you added after a moment, making sure she knows it wasn't your choice.
"i—" she started but didn't make a second attempt to speak after her voice drifted off once. she rolled onto her back and looked at the sky. "this is your home, your highness. you can't leave." she seemed to plead you to stay, and god, how much you wanted to...
"i'm scared." you admitted, your gaze desperately lingering on her, as if she'll disappear once you look away.
"of him?" she inquired as her hand found yours and gently rested on it.
your arm tensed at her sudden touch, but your whole body relaxed as soon as her thumb started stroking your palm. deep breath. "of living without you." you whispered, ashamedly looking to the other side to avoid her. you felt her squeezing your hand, and your grip on her also tightened. you started silently begging for the ability to stay like that forever, even if it meant you will spent the eternity in silence and with teary eyes. it would be the best reward you could ask for, a dream coming true.

the first thing you felt after finally coming to your senses was your mother fastening the corset, tightening it to the point your breath hitched. an hour of scolding for you leaving the dinner passed and now she went back to her stern, rough, but at least not mad facade. you weren't listening to whatever she was saying, thinking about how did you end up in your bed this morning. did you came here by yourself and you just don't remember? or maybe you fell asleep, ellie carried you here and tucked you in bed? at just this single idea of her, your mind wandered to the previous late evening. you felt overwhelmed by the memory of her words and, most importantly, her kiss. your breath got heavier, the corset not making it any easier to stay calm. your body started suddenly sweating, as if a wave of heat just washed over you.
"mother— i'm in love." you blurted out, before you could think of the consequences. you just had to get that off your chest.
"well, that's good." you saw a small smile creating on her lips. you finally received a human-like kindness from her, probably for the first time in years. "i hope you won't change your mind before the wedding."
your worry quickly turned into confusion and, eventually, the same disgust as yesterday. "i'm not talking about the prince!" you paused and looked down, not wanting to drag the topic but, at the same time, not able to stop it. "it's one of the knights." you really weren't controlling the words coming out of your mouth and that could only mean one thing - problems. "ellie."
your mother quickly spun you around and forcefully grabbed your chin. "i'm not even surprised." she hissed, making sure you know how disappointed in you she is. "but i won't tolerate that." the sharpness of her statement successfully shut you up, so you didn't argue nor pushed the topic when she went back to preparing you for the big, big day. she started acting like nothing happened and kept reminding you about how important it is. of course she only cared about her own good, or at least it felt like so, as she silenced you everytime you wanted to speak.
everyone was formally dressed, even the poorest maids found something noble. they all cutely smiled at your sight, probably impressed by your dress. the dominant color was clearly white, a sign of purity which you seemed to lack. that's what your mother made you believe, at least. but maybe she was a bit right after all? because your feelings towards ellie- oh, ellie.
you shook your head, forcing yourself to get her out of your mind. you looked at the service again, and they all immediately flashed you a smile as if on command. you reciprocated the gesture, though you could guess what was really on the women's mind. they hated you. they hated the ungrateful princess which would pick a knight over a prince. your obvious dissatisfaction, even without knowing the real reason behind it, seemed stupid. if only you could swap your places with one of them— not only you'd make her happy, but you and ellie could... oh, so you're thinking of ellie again.
you tried to move your veil so it'd cover the tears in your eyes, but there was always someone who'll fix it for you, not knowing you're doing it intentionally. you felt weak. physically and, mostly, mentally. because your knees, which barely held you up, which felt so light compared to the rest of your body as if they were made of cotton wool, everything above could be explained. by stress. but the intangible weakness was way worse. the prince seemed really nice and wasn't too old, you could get along well. but your heart was already taken by...
you turned around and your gaze wandered across the benches - you saw your family on the one side, his on the other, and a row of services against the wall. you could only think about one thing. where's ellie?
the question intrigued you to the point you started mouthing it to yourself, imagining 'if i were her, where would i go?'. but did it matter? she could be everywhere - in her room, in the garden - the point is, she wasn't there. your mother noticed your anxiety and walked over to you, hoping she'll be able to stop you from ruining the ceremony.
"where's ellie?" you immediately asked, frowning but calming down as there was someone able to answer your question.
"ellie?" she queried with a frown on her own, though hers quickly softened. "oh, the knight. look, there's other knights—"
"but ellie..." you cut her off with a sigh. "only she can protect me." you looked at the opened, massive doors, staring at the little stairs leading to the church you were in now, hoping to see her.
"there are dozens of more experienced knights." she rolled her eyes, discretely pointing at the row. "you and your stupid whims." with that, she left you and the prince alone at the altar. you awkwardly fidgeted with your fingers. you didn't need experienced knights, you didn't need knights at all - you needed ellie. she knew you have nightmares after arguing with your mom or during full moon, and she was there for you. she helped you take off your corset when you were alone, because she knew how much you hate it. she wasn't only your protector, she was someone way more important. not your friend. she was the love of your life. and you had to realise that right before the priest started the ceremony. great.
the whole time, you just watched the doorstep through the corner of your eye. there's no way she'd miss the wedding, so you couldn't help but wonder 'what did my mother do to her?'. you knew you're being naive, but you couldn't stop yourself from it.
you weren't listening at all, but one statement caught your attention, since priest's voice got louder and more stern.
"should anyone present know of any reason that this couple should not be joined in holy matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace."
a wave of gasps filled the room and as you looked back at the doorstep, you saw that your prayers have been answered. her hand was covered in blood, probably her own since she had it pressed against her stomach as if to stop it from bleeding. you couldn't see how badly she was hurt, since her clothes were messy and torned. she was breathless and her knees seemed to be as weak as yours, but she still managed to shout a raspy; "i object."
it caused a bitter laugh from your mother, followed by shouting at the knights to get her. they hestitated, respecting ellie as one of the best equestrians, but they had no choice. they weren't acting quick or aggresive, and she'd easily get away if she wanted to. she knew her objection won't stop anything and it'll only get her in problems, as if she doesn't have enough yet. but she also knew this was her last chance to show that she'll always, at least try to, protect you. not only from dangerous rebels, but also a non-threatening man you're forced to be with.
you grabbed your dress, slightly rolling it up so you won't stumble as you run, but someone's hands held you in place. you turned around to see the prince and, i have to add, you never really blamed him for that. he had no idea who's ellie, maybe he thought she was a bad person, considering the queen's reaction. everything would be probably even worse if you'd have the chance to intervene. you understood that, though you couldn't calm down for long after ellie was taken out anyway.
the priest looked at your mother, asking the question to which the answer intrigued everyone. "continue." she commanded in her usual firm tone. you could see her mumbling a quiet "this stupid girl won't ruin the wedding" under her breath, but it went unnoticed by everyone except you.
and so the celebration continued as if nothing happened. you stood hand in hand with a man you'll spent the rest of your life with, believing he will never love, know or even see you in the way ellie does. you knew he won't stroke your wet from sweat hair after a tough night, he won't help you dress up and, what hurt the most, he won't take you to the castle's backyard just to rest and watch the sky.
you thought about running away, but the row of ready knights who only waited for the queen's orders made you lose your hope. of course they'd probably hesitate for a moment too, giving you some time, but you still didn't stand a chance. plus, you had different things going on your mind, keeping you busy and unfocused on the ceremony. namely - what will happen to ellie?
──────────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ────────────
you saw an envelope laying on your desk, having only your name on it. you teared it apart, impatiently wanting to get the paper out. you knew who's it from right after reading the first two words - not only because of ellie's handwriting, but also the way she addressed to you; 'my princess.' my princess.
believe me, all too aware am i of what i did. a lot happened behind your back but it is not a topic we should discuss like that. my friend took care of me, and even with the cold taking my body over i am just proud i am still alive, with the chance to write to you. i did something reckless but i believe it was caused by love. luccy says the same, we both think the thought of you controlled me. i could never forgive myself if i didn't see you in that dress. i think this is how i will forever remember you - dressed in white, looking so pure and angelic. i won't waste the ink for trying to compare you to anything, because i will miserably fail. nothing can be compared to you.
how does being married feel? i think you were unnecessarily scared. besides my little antic, it went smoothly. that is what i am told, at least, by the people in town. the queen was wrong about them, they are much more than poor slums. well, maybe they are poor, but i am truly in love with their modest cottages. they do not need much, they are happy with what they are given, and there is something magical about it. i think i would want to live like that. with you warming the other side of our bed. we don't need anyone else, i am sure we would enjoy life on our own.
the wound on my stomach seems to heal correctly. luccy thinks it will leave a scar, but i have some already, so what is one more? our biggest problem is food, because my friend gets a portion which is only enough for her. your mother took my money and weapon, the injury makes me useless anyway. to make matters worse, i have to stay in hiding. i haven't seen the sky since your wedding. oh, the things i would do to see big dipper again. i am not sure how it looks anymore, i have to admit i wasn't paying much attention. i apologize, but in my defense, my focus was on you. you are more interesting than any constellations.
i hope your poesy ring is pretty, at least. i want you to rememeber that you will always be in my heart and a simple ring other man gave you won't change it. maybe he did claim you, but i see you as mine anyway. my princess.
the letter wasn't signed, maybe to avoid any problems if someone else found it, but you were sure who's job is it. you quickly took a piece of paper for yourself to write, but you remembered the envelope didn't contain her address. you were left alone, your only hope was praying you'll get more messages from her. you could try to find her, ask the town residents, but they'd quickly start gossiping.
you looked down - at your promise ring. you couldn't deny that it was perfect and most definitely woth a lot, an ordinary resident of your kingdom could probably afford a food supply for the rest of their life with it. it was way too loose, so you started rolling it around your finger, deep in thought.
──────────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ────────────
your mother pushed you forward, motioning you towards the gate. you saw a young woman led by a pair of knights, just another prisoner. she intensively stared at you and you wanted to ran up to her, no matter how suspicious it'd be. she just seemed so... familiar.
you slowed down, much to your mother's displeasure. "where are we even going?" you inquired, glancing at the carriage. days passed and you should be in prince's castle by now. yet, his visit kept getting longer.
"surprise." she murmured, her tone sucking every remaining bit of happiness inside of you.
you looked back at the woman, getting further and further away from you with each step. you hestitated between obeying your mother or trusting your intuition. the second option prevailed as soon as you saw, or at least could swear that you saw her mouthing ellie's name. you ran up to her, ignoring the queen's shouting at you to go back. the knights ignored you, holding the prisoner's wrists behind her back. you had to walk backwards in order to be able to look at her face. your dress made it hard, but you had to find out what's going on.
"ellie." the woman spoke up, her voice was weak but not from sadness, it sounded more as if she lost it due to screaming for too long. "i'm sorry, your highness. i couldn't protect her—"
"you tried." you cut her off, trying to sound reassuring. "where is she?"
luccy bit her lip and looked down. you wanted to push the topic, but as you turned around to see if you have any obstacles on the way, you saw you're already near the basement - were prisoners were usually located. without thinking, you took your ring off and put it in her pocket. maybe she'll be able to bribe the knights, and even if not, she'll definitely need it more than you.
as you went back to your mother, her yelling wasn't getting to you. you didn't pay attention to anything she said and once she finished, you whispered a quiet; "where are we going?" again. she, obviously, got even more mad at you for ignoring her. the whole ride passed rather quickly, as you relaxed to the melody of your mother rambling about how much of a disappointment you are.
when you arrived to an open area, full of people of all social degree, you felt a knot in your stomach. your whole body was either hurting or weak. you didn't see what are the residents watching, but only big events get so much viewers. you left your mother behind, though this time she didn't try to stop you with her worthless shouting as you made your way through the crowd. you probably hurt a lot of people while doing so, but it was worth it, as you were now standing in the first row, right in front of the... oh. gallows.
a wave of nausea and tears washed over you and you had to hold yourself up by an unknown man's arm. he didn't complain - everyone here knew who are you and they didn't want to end up being the executed ones. as you calmed down, you looked up to see ellie, seeming fearless or even proud. her chin was bruised but raised, showing how unfazed she felt. maybe she was only pretending, who knows, at least she was a good actress.
you screamed out her name, your voice breaking and trembling, as you swallowed your own tears which flowed down your face. she was surprised to see you so close to the gallows without anyone protecting you. her unbothered facade drifted away, and she mouthed "go!" or "don't look!" towards you, wanting to spare you the view. but you couldn't look away, you had to enjoy her green eyes until they were opened, and freckled skin until the blood was flowing beneath it, honoring her with a slight blush. she bit her bottom lip, just like luccy did not long ago, and broke the eye contact. unlike you, she couldn't stand the view of her love. not in those circumstances.
you saw your mother standing outside of the crowd, closer to the gallows than anyone else. she scanned the faces of the already dead people, and you wondered what did they do to deserve this. then, she gestured for some formally dressed men to start. as the noose wrapped around ellie's neck, you screamed again, this time taking action. or, well, trying to, since the crowd held you back, forcing you to not leave them. queen's commands. you cussed them out, trying to break free with all the strength you had.
"any last words?" your mother tauntingly asked, pacing back and forth.
ellie cleared her throat, before looking at you, what only gave you energy and motivation in trying to pull away. "if that's the price of love, then so be it" she was speaking slowly and clearly, making sure these words will be remembered by the community. "i am supposed to protect our only princess, so i'm more than happy to die knowing i did everything i could to—"
"oh, enough!" the queen hissed. "how dare you talk about love!" the way she snapped felt personal, so you almost forgot hundreds of people watch it too. with that, you also failed to remember that they're holding you, so you stopped fighting back and just hopelessly watched the scene.
"what else do we have to talk about?" ellie bitterly laughed, her voice a mix of amusement and hatred. the noose around her neck didn't seem to bother her. she was just so strong and- god, how much you admired this woman.
your mother turned around, waving her hand at the men responsible for the whole ceremony. you screamed again, though this time it wasn't her name. it was a weak but loud scream of protest, the one that tired you to the point you fell down on your knees, violently sobbing as the trapdoor opened.

Olalla Chapter Seven
Josh Kiszka x f!OC x Jake Kiszka
So, what was supposed to be just a brief beginning of Chapter 7, turned out to be much longer than I initially planned. :D At first I considered splitting the chapter in two again, but after rereading it, I concluded that this is just a fully autonomous part, and therefore should be treated as such. As always, comments are very welcome!

Chapter Six 2/2 Olalla masterpost
Are you uncertain? Or just scared to drop your guard? Have you been broken? Are you afraid to show your heart? And all you never say is that you love me so All I'll never know is if you want me oh If only I could look into your mind Maybe then I'd find a sign Of all I want to hear you say to me
Agnieszka, September 2025, Zakopane
I thought I had my feelings all figured out. I knew this was inevitable…eventually, and I thought I had already made my peace with it. But deep down, I knew I hoped that we still had more time. Or…that I had more time with him, because who knows what he wanted. Probably not me.No…obviously not me. That should have made it easier. I had been convinced that it should work that way, and that’s why I always pushed other guys away – so that they wouldn’t love me. But once again, Joshua proved me wrong.
Your rational mind keeps telling you to let go, but that’s like telling an addict to just stop. Perhaps at least one more kiss. One more kiss and then I’ll stop…
And that’s a lie.
Because the truth is, I did get to see him. I even got to touch him again. He held my hand for a little while in that hospital room, but I was so shaken by the whole situation that I only barely noticed how his thumb gently stroked my knuckles. I wish I could go back to that moment, to savour it more, to remember how it felt and not just that it happened. Rationally, that wish makes no sense. How could it possibly make me feel better, knowing that it was over no matter what? I remembered how his dick felt, and that didn’t make me feel better.
But that’s what you keep wanting: More. Or worse, even something that was never there. Surely, acquaintances, or even friends, don’t do this, right? That’s what you just keep thinking. That’s what I was thinking. And the way he looked at me then. It was just a stolen glance, but it felt like a whole song. I kept replaying those moments in my head on our way back home…well, my home…when Jake’s silence finally left me with my own thoughts and I could focus on them fully. I was still hopeful back then.
I was, once again, a fool.
After Jake walked out the door and crushed that hope, I felt as if he left me stranded on a desert island without water. It was a sudden shock I failed to prepare myself for. It felt like falling down the dark abyss for a split second, but the head-spinning sensation was replaced by complete numbness before I could hit the ground, figuratively speaking. Feeling completely disconnected with my body, including the heart, I just kept standing there without moving for a while. Dumbstruck. It could have been five minutes, it could have been more, and it doesn’t really matter. I was stupefied. I remember I just couldn’t feel anything. It was impossible to lift an arm, let alone think.
The first thing I became really conscious of after a while were my eyelids, blinking slowly. I swallowed when the first fat tears fell down from my eyelashes onto my cheeks. The tingling sensation that started somewhere behind my eyeballs made me aware of my surroundings once again. It quickly spread like acid up my forehead and across my cheeks and I started crying in earnest to relieve that ache.
I remember I thought that I couldn’t let anyone see me. My stupidity was humiliating and I was sure everyone was sick and tired of my neverending sorrows. I hated myself for letting it affect me like that. I didn’t want to fall in love at all. How could I let myself fall so hard? I mustered all my remaining energy to hide behind the counter where I crouched on the ground and wept silently until mother found me. I know I must have scared her. After she made sure I wasn’t physically hurt, she started yelling something, but I didn’t listen. I didn’t care, because she never approved of any of this. Not because she saw me suffering, but because the reasons weren’t worth it in her eyes. She wore the judgement written on her face, even when she was worried about me.
Both Maya and dad noticed. They noticed how I fell…for him. Mother never understood me, and I never tried to make her. She couldn’t comprehend it, because she had searched for, and found, someone who stayed. I never really cared about her approval of my actions, but once in a while, an understanding hug would be nice. I was really and truly destined to spend my life alone and lonely. Like a wandering she-wolf, running up and down these hills.
I didn’t try to explain what happened, I didn’t argue. It just forced me to move and search for more solitude upstairs.
In my dreamlike state, I passed my own door and continued up the steep wooden stairs that lead to what used to be his room for that bittersweet, fleeting moment. I stepped inside just when the last sun rays illuminated the inner window frame before they disappeared for the night. It felt like they disappeared forever, turning my world grayish blue before the black rot would take over everything.
Once again driven by the self-destructive force, I climbed on the bed and buried my face in the pillow just like I would bury it in his hair. His crumpled comforter was welcoming, too. It still held his musky scent. I pulled it up to my chin and kept inhaling. I wrapped my arms around the blanket and rubbed my face in it, as if it was a ragdoll version of him. Pathetic, I know.
I lay motionless as the room grew completely dark and long after that too, until shallow sleep released me from my misery and replaced it with the sound of his voice, singing again on top of the mountain. He wasn’t alone though, I could hear two voices now. I spent the whole night there. It felt more like a hallucination than a dream.
And then I woke up, feeling flat and numb. It was still almost dark outside when I opened my eyes. I could still hear the song inside my head, even though it was slowly fading into nothing, replaced by much more mundane sounds of passing cars, flushing toilets, quick brew kettles and footsteps on the wooden stairs somewhere in the house. One can only keep staring at the ceiling for so long, and when the first sun rays hit the tree leaves outside the window, I realized that I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life in such a limbo. It was time to wake up. I just didn't know how yet. Exhausted both mentally and physically, I couldn’t bring myself to move.
Nature took care of that at last, finally forcing me to get up and drag my tired body to the bathroom.
My own reflection in the mirror startled me. Last night took its toll on me, but it had been a gradual process. My hair and the dark circles under my eyes could be fixed with a shower and more sleep, but those hollowed cheeks and bitten lips ornated with scabs and swellings did not appear overnight.
My grandma would understand. And then she’d yell at me for doing this to myself.
She was still here when Dominik died. Back then she told me that people leave but we’re still here, and as long as there’s still enough fresh air to breathe, we have to keep on trying. She loved fresh air, always kept talking about how much… and when someone asked why, she scared the shit out of them by telling them that when she drew her first breath, it was full of ash from Oswiecim. When she first told me, I couldn’t sleep for two nights.
It was melodramatic, and disgustingly morbid and essentially bullshit. The wind couldn’t reach them here, but the words did, and as soon as my great grandmother heard what had happened to other pregnant women not so far away, she threw her rosary into the wood burning stove. That’s what shaped them and that’s what they passed on to me. Sometimes I forget. I didn’t listen to her the first time my heart broke. I was determined to do it now.
It was time to open the window and let the fresh air in.
I was systematic. I put the sheets and towels in the washing machine, I washed the teacups he had stacked on his bedside table, while the morning wind took away the last whiffs of his warm body. I put the malachite stone in a tin box and buried it in the garden. I could never throw it away, but I thought I could also never wear it again. I couldn’t even look at it.
As if burning my wedding dress ever helped… So, half an hour later, I dug it up. Saying goodbye and trying to forget the unforgettable are two completely different things with completely different consequences. That’s what Joshua taught me. I wasn’t going to forget that.
After I was done with all of that, it was time to take care of myself. Shower, food, clean clothes, even a face mask. All done with equally strong determination. Even though I had to force myself to eat my breakfast, I just did it, without anyone else telling me I should this time. That, alone, was a success. Just mere hours after I felt like my whole being was disintegrating, I was finally taking care of myself. The sun was already high up in the sky when I realized that I didn’t even know what time it was…
Jake tried to call.
At first I didn’t even know. I missed the first three phone calls as I had left everything at the back seat of my car the previous evening. Holding the phone in my trembling hand. I decided not to call back. I simply couldn’t. What was there to gain?
I was just sipping on my second coffee that day, watching the outline of Giewont as if I saw it for the first time, when the phone rang again, giving me heart palpitations once again. I couldn’t stand it. I watched the lightened screen for several seconds before I declined the call. Only several more seconds passed when the screen lit up again with a brief message: “Please! Pick up.” I replied this time, asking him to leave me alone, and then I blocked him.
As days went by, it got easier. I kept working on autopilot at first, but as September came and the trees started to turn gold, I felt a surge of energy and, perhaps, hope. Nature always did this to me. Every change of season always felt like a new beginning.
Indian Summer is a busy time of the year, because the weather is warm and stable. The place was packed and it kept me occupied during most days. Early evenings were tough at first, because the alpenglow always reminded me: how he sang, how his teeth chattered until I used my own body heat to warm him, or how he talked about love that would never go away. And he was right. I could never stop loving either of them; one buried in the ground, the other one far away. Both of them forever out of reach, but forever in my heart. I would never be the same. It was meant to be like that, and I made my peace with it. After a week, my resolution to keep on living grew stronger. I was fully determined to do so. Days went by, and my senses returned. Once again, I could smell the yellowing grass and rotting needles. I loved that. Soon we would be buried in snow and then the Spring would come again, making the meadows bloom and hawks screech. Life is strange; full of pain, but abundant with wonders.
A few more days passed. Then, on Wednesday evening, just when I felt it was all over and I could finally breathe again, the business phone rang, the foreign number on the screen strangely familiar. My breath hitched when I saw it. What could he possibly want? Why can’t they let me live in peace? With one hand gripping the polished wood of the reception counter, I finally answered.
“This is Willa Eulalia, Agnieszka Sikorska speaking. How can I help you?”
“Hello, veela.” It was the blackberry jam voice again. Just as bittersweet. It sounded soothing once, but I still remembered too well how venomous it could be when he wanted to bite, and I shivered at the sound again now. I wasn’t going to let him hurt me again.
“What do you want, Mr. Kiszka?”
I heard him sigh and take a deep breath again. It took him a moment to respond, and I was getting impatient. “I have a favor to ask,” he finally breathed out, his tone low and hesitant.
A favour?!? He had no right to ask me any favours. “No, I’m afraid I cannot help you.”
“Please, Agnieszka, listen to m…” No, I didn’t listen to him. I hung up.
The next morning, he had the audacity to walk into the lobby.
I was just going through new reservations when the doorbell rang. We usually kept the front door open only during check-in hours, our guests having their own keys. That day, I left the door unlocked as I was working down there anyway, but the person behind it obviously didn’t know. I checked the camera above the main entrance and froze. He was standing there with his head bent down, hands in his pockets and his long hair tied in a low, messy bun. Equally attractive – and equally lethal – as the one that robbed me of my peace. Well, they both did, in the end.
I felt on edge all of the sudden, my fight-or-flight response fully activated. It was too late to lock the door now, because he would hear it click. I couldn’t leave the entrance unattended either. I waited with baited breath for him to give up and turn to leave, but instead the bell rang again, making me even more agitated. I couldn’t move, as the sudden realization hit. Was he alone? I tried to calm my beating heart by closing my eyes and taking a few deep breaths, while my hands started shaking. That was a state he found me in when he finally tried his luck, opened the door and stepped inside, startling me even more.
I expected him to be angry, but found only concern and confusion in his eyes. Well, anger would have been more palatable, as I couldn’t stomach his pity, or whatever it was. He took off his sunglasses, looked at the door, then back at me. “Why?” That was all he asked.
“Please, just leave,” I whispered.
“Agnieszka, I beg you…”
I’m Pani Sikorska to you,” I interrupted him coldly.
He slapped the counter with both hands, making me jump. “Fair enough. Treat me like a vermin, if that makes you feel better. I don’t mind. And I know I deserve it. But please, listen to me, because I’m here because of him. What happened…it’s all my fault. And… it has nothing to do with how he feels about you…,” he paused for a brief second before he continued: “I probably shouldn’t say any more.” He looked defeated all of the sudden.
“Not a vermin. Just a stranger, Mr. Kiszka, “ I reminded him once again that it was him who had set those boundaries. I also wondered what he was talking about. What happened? Well, apart from treating me like a whore who was responsible for his brother’s accident, that is. My own train of thought made my blood boil again. “What do you want? What do you want now? And what are you doing here, anyway? Why aren’t you back home already?”
He nodded, as if he had been expecting all those questions. “That’s the reason why I’m here, actually,” he paused again, as if contemplating something, before he looked straight into my eyes again and continued: “...but mainly to tell you that I’m sorry. So, I’m sorry Agnieszka, and I need your help.” His voice cracked slightly at that point, and the previous concern in his eyes transformed into genuine worry. He looked very tired, too.
“Why?” I asked tentatively and stood up slowly to be eye level with him.
“Because Josh is not well.”
We just stood there looking at each other apprehensively for a few seconds, before I grabbed my keys and went to lock the door. I could feel his eyes on me the whole time. Only when I turned back to him, he finally relaxed. “Tea?” I motioned towards the kitchen.
“Yes, please,” he smiled ruefully. “And thank you.” He wasn’t thanking me for the tea. I knew that.
“So… what’s going on?” I asked after I placed the cups on the table and took my seat opposite to him. “The two of you never left Krakow?”
“No. He can’t fly in his condition. The doctor said we would have to wait at least two more weeks. Three, preferably. I even called the consulate for more information and asked for someone who could give me another medical opinion. It could be done, but at our own risk, and I finally decided that I didn’t want to take that risk. But…that’s not an issue.”
He paused to take a sip and I expected him to continue, but he just kept staring at a knot on the wooden table, tracing the outline with his finger. He was restless. “Ok, so what’s the issue?” I asked impatiently. “And what exactly do you need me for?” I tried to stay calm…and aloof, just to make it clear that I wasn’t going to let him fuck with me again. But inwardly, I was screaming. He was scaring me, suddenly avoiding eye contact, while I was growing more and more impatient. “Jake!”
He sighed and – toying with a teaspoon now – finally started talking again. He still refused to look at me. “When I arrived at the hospital, he…got agitated. And his condition worsened. They put him back in ICU for the night, and I had to leave, because…because we argued and…well, not my best moment. Anyway... Mom could stay for only a few days before she had to fly back home. Since then, it was just the two of us. They kept him in the hospital for over a week, because he wasn’t eating properly and refused to get out of bed. Things got slightly better then, and I booked a nice hotel room for us eventually…that’s where we’re at now. But I’m at wit’s end. He’s regressing. He hasn’t eaten anything since Monday evening, he spends the whole day staring at the ceiling and he refuses to talk to me. He’s in a bad place, obviously. Everytime I try to drag him out of it, he just turns his back to me and pretends to be sleeping. And I understand that, because he’s mad at me, but…”
He paused again to take another sip, because his voice was getting squeaky. “The doctor said that it’s only natural in his condition, and that it will get better eventually, but it bothers me greatly. I know it’s not just because of the injury. This is so unlike him. So… I’m here to ask for your help. I thought, if we could just stay here…”
The teaspoon slipped through his fingers and fell on the table with a clang that made us both wince. One part of me was heartbroken by the things Jake said, the other part was just astonished by the audacity of his request. It hurt to hear that Joshua was in a bad state, and the caretaker in me was refusing to tell Jake no, but I had to take care of myself too, because no one else did. Would it hurt to see Joshua again? Most certainly. And why should I do that, anyway?
“I’m a maid, not a nurse.”
“I know I’m asking a lot, especially considering how I treated you last time we met. And I’m not asking you to take care of him. I will do that. I just…we just…I think we just need a better place to stay. We’ve spent half of our adult life in hotel rooms, away from the people we love, and at a certain point it just started to ruin our lives and now it just snowballed and… I don’t know what to do now. I don’t know who else to ask for help. I’ll understand if you refuse, and maybe it was a bad idea all along, but I had to try. I can’t call mom. She’d be mad with worry.” The words were pouring out of him like flood and when at last he paused again to catch his breath, his eyes bore into me with familiar intensity. They were so similar, yet they told a different story. I couldn’t help being fascinated by that.
A better place to stay. Why did both of them have to be so cryptic all the time? I glanced out of the window, trying to process everything Jake just said, when it suddenly dawned on me and my head snapped back. “What do you mean, ‘just the two of you’?!” I barked.
He squeezed his eyes shut and scrubbed his hand across his face, as if my question was giving him a headache. Maybe it was. “Christopher left before I got back to the hospital.”
“What? Why?”
“Because he asked him who you were and what really happened…and Josh told him.”
I stared at him as if he just pierced me with an icicle. “And what did he tell him?”
“I wasn’t there...” He leaned back on his chair and crossed his arms defensively. It was clearly something he didn’t want to talk about. Well, too late.
“Jake…”
“It’s not my place to tell, ok? I’ve already done enough damage.”
“Oh, and you think this makes it better…” He didn’t respond. Now it was my time to become restless. I stood up and started pacing the small room. I felt like a marionette in some puppet show they all played together, only it all felt too real to me.
And I felt like a marionette, too, throwing my arms around with each sentence I spat at him: “You know what? It doesn’t matter. Whatever he told him, it clearly wasn’t something I’d enjoy hearing. Thankfully, he didn’t even bother telling me. At least you were honest. Go to hell! Both of you.”
He stood up too, pushing the chair away with a squeak. “What the fuck do you mean? He tried to call you as soon as they let him use my phone! But you rejected him! He was a MESS after that last message you sent. And I was so mad! It only convinced me that I was right about you. Well, just like now. It just shows I was! And this was a mistake. You never cared. So, fuck you very much and have a nice day.” He was just turning to leave again when I lost it.
“YOU THINK I WASN’T A MESS?!? When you told me that my services were no longer needed? I didn’t pick up the phone, because I was just trying to get my own shit together, and too scared to hear more of what you had to tell, Mr. Kiszka. I risked my ass when I went searching for your brother ALONE in a fucking storm! He was hypothermic when I found him, and I spent the whole night up there keeping him warm. Why do you think I did that, huh? Fuck you too! Asshole!”
It never occurred to me that it might have been Joshua calling. But at that time, it didn’t really matter. I was just trying to be a functional human being again. All those years of having been a shitty person hit me like a boomerang and bit me in the ass the moment I saw Christopher in Joshua’s hospital room and became a third wheel in this farce. And now this. It just hurt. I knew too well what kind of information could possibly make Christopher leave, but the idea only made me feel nauseous, because even the unlikely possibility that it might be the case suddenly opened the wound that only just started to heal. It’s the kind of information that’s supposed to make you feel better, but it felt like a huge stone in my stomach. It was a huge mess, and it left us all hurting. And I was to blame, too.
When we finished yelling at each other, we stood facing each other for a while, eyes wide, fists clenched and nostrils wide.
I swallowed hard and my eyes finally welled with tears. And when he finally moved, I expected him to leave for good this time. I buried my face in my hands, so I didn’t notice that he just moved around the table, until I felt his fingertips wrap gently around my forearms. He pulled my hands away and looked into my eyes again, his brows furrowed with concern. “I’m sorry, veela. This is all my fault.”
I sobbed violently and he hugged me. It was unexpected, but suddenly very welcome. I hadn’t even realized how much I needed someone’s warm touch, and his was strangely comforting. I let him stroke my hair and he let me sink my fingernails into his half exposed chest.
“Ok, bring him along,” I mumbled after a while, with my lips almost touching his clavicle.
“What?” He pulled away a little, so that he could look at me again.
“Bring him along,” I repeated, wiping my tears with my fingertips. “I have almost no apartments left right now, except his old little attic room, but the one just next to it will be free on Saturday, so I can book them both for you. It’s not much, but…”
“No, it’s perfect. Thank you.”
I invited him to stay for lunch, but he declined politely, because he couldn’t linger. He had to go back to Krakow so that Joshua wouldn’t be alone for too long. It was obvious Jake worried about him very much, and it made my heart hurt even more. But we were going to make this better…
I went to see him off all the way to his rental car across the street. After we said goodbye and hugged again briefly I handed him a large package full of homemade mushroom pastries and chocolate doughnuts for Joshua.
He opened the car door and hesitated, turning to me one more time. “You know…you really should know that he…”
“No, don’t. You were right. It’s not your place to tell.”

Spoiler warning-In the Shadow of the Study
Somewhat edited, this is my second draft. May possibly add more details to it but I left things a bit vague so readers are able to imagine their own character (boy or girl). Again, I’m open to request. Thank you in advance! <3
Examining the spine-chilling carving on the door, you carefully considered all your options. Is this really what it came down to? If so, you knew what your answer would be. There was no possible way you could cast the Cruciatus curse on Sebastian. After all, he was the one who held your heart in the palm of his hands without even realizing it. You would do anything for this Slytherin boy. You’d follow him to the ends of the earth. Die for him even. So this? This was nothing. You took a moment to glance at Ominis Gaunt who was currently pacing back and forward only a few feet away from where you and Sebastian stood before you looked directly into Sebastian Sallow’s eyes. “—But I will not cast it on you” You tentatively said.
A million thoughts ran through Sebastian’s mind but only one stood out among the rest. This was for Anne. “Very well,” He spoke softly, “I won’t forget this.” He raised his wand and when you stood up straight—purposeful and prepared—he shouted, “Crucio!”
A bright red light shoot out of the end of his wand and struck you in the chest, knocking all the air out your lungs. A torturous scream filled the room. Was that you? You fell crippled to your knees as the most unbearable pain devoured your entire existence. It was like your brain was splitting into two while your heart pumped glass through your veins. The air you frantically gasped for felt like you were swallowing acid. Were you on fire? No. Were you drowning? Maybe both. Tears threaten against your eyes. Who were you? Secretly, you wished for death. Because death had to be mercy compared to this. Hopelessly, you searched the room for a way to end this and when your gaze landed on Sebastian, everything came back to you.
Endure it, a voice demanded in your head. This was for him. But the seconds seemed like hours and in all honesty, you didn’t know if you’d survive this. “Are you alright?” Sebastian had got down on his knees in front of you, his wand on the ground and the hand he used to cast the curse with was now resting on your shoulder. The determination he had to help Anne was slowly being replaced with the guilt of harming you. “Y/N,” He hesitated, “I’m-I’m sorry—I didn’t,” Sebastian was going to say, he didn’t mean it but of course he did. Everyone in this room knew he meant it. “I-I don’t know how to stop it.”
“You can’t.” Ominis broke his silence. His body felt cold and all he wanted was to seek warmth. To get far away as possible from this environment but his feet didn’t budge. This was everything he stood against. The reason he no longer associated with his family. But he couldn’t leave his best friend. He couldn’t leave you.
As quickly as the pain came, it went. However, you remained glued in floor, terrified that if you moved, it would trigger the pain to start again. You desperately clutched onto your sanity as you started to say, “That pain,” But when you body finally registered Sebastian’s grip, you starred into his beautifully stoic eyes and the words you wanted to say, disappeared from your lips. “I’m okay,” You smiled weakly, hoping to give him some kind of reassurance. “Let’s continue.”
Sebastian sighed, feeling somewhat relieved. He hated himself for causing you excruciating pain. He wanted to hold you. Comfort you. Even cry with you. Without thinking, he slid his hand off your shoulder and gently caressed your cheek, wiping away a tear you didn’t realize had fallen. For once, you gave into your desires and leaned into his touch, closing your eyes. You would do it again, you thought to yourself. For Sebastian. For Anne. You would endure the pain, any day, for them.

Knowing that Malik thought of him as pretty, as beautiful, was the most fulfilling and blissful feeling Oli could possibly imagine. Never had it crossed his mind in all this time of hopeless longing for his brother's best friend, during all those nights of desperate need and schoolboy fantasies about the only guy, the only person he'd ever longed for, that there was even the slightest chance of Malik looking at him that way. Whenever they shared a flirty glance, Oliver turned his eyes away for fear the other could see his crush and push him away. Whenever Malik called him a 'pretty boy', Oli failed to see it for more than friendly, almost brotherly teasing, and got even more determined to become what he thought Malik wanted him to be. Not pretty, but a man. Aiming to impress the other during their workouts when in reality, he simply was much smaller than Malik. Never had it occured to Oli that he didn't need to so desperately try and aspire to be more like his crush or even like his brother, but that being himself was what attracted the other. Only now could he see that Malik wanted and needed him to be just what Oli himself wanted to be for the other. Pretty. And his. Malik's baby girl.
The young ginger gasped as Malik's magnificent length pushed inside him once again; his hole still well-fucked from earlier and lubricated with the load his new lover had pumped inside him, it was less painful this time to take the other's monster, but no less overwhelming to feel it stretch him open. But it was only a moment of gritted teeth and heavy breathing, feeling the beast push past the resistance of his pink entrance until finally, Malik claimed his pussy once more. If he was completely honest, Oli was surprised at just how good it felt to have his Daddy push inside, to feel that monstrous cock stretch open his freshly-deflowered tightness. When he first had laid eyes on just how big his crush's manhood really was, part of the boy had prepared to push through the struggle and be a good boy for Malik, to take it like a man and suffer through the pain as if he was pushing through a particularly tough workout. But to Oliver's amazement, it wasn't something he had to push through at all. Not because it was easy or without pain - he was too inexperienced and tight, and Malik way too hung for it to be an easy fit - but because every sting of pain, every moment of struggle was overshadowed tenfold by the intense pleasure of his Daddy's cock making the ginger see stars, pushing buttons within Oliver that the younger male had not dared to think existed. It was no longer just his mind that was melting with bliss at the thought of being Malik's girl; his body was quickly learning that this new pleasure it began to know was addictive, and he wanted the other to never stop fucking him.
And to his absolute delight, Malik began to promise exactly that. Every word coming out of the other's mouth sounded like one of Oli's dreams had become a perfect reality, and for a split second he was unsure if maybe he was only dreaming after all. How could he be truly deserving of all his deepest desires coming true? And as the thought crossed his mind, for yet another moment he was scared that this realization would wake him from said dream - but of course, that did not happen. He remained in this world, his body in heat, his own length aching and throbbing as he could only whimper and groan in overwhelming pleasure as his lover's gargantuan length fucked him so deep and mercilessly - a lot for a near virgin like Oliver to take, though the boy had no comparison after all. To him, this was what sex felt like - and god, it was perfection.
"P-Please don't, Daddy", he agreed with the other's words, whimpering with unbound lust and his eyes hazy with desire as he looked into Malik's eyes. "Never stop fucking me", he pleaded, letting out what could almost be described as a squeal of pleasure when Malik's hand found his throat. Feeling the beast that was his Daddy be unleashed like this, fucking him with such animalistic passion, had the boy fall apart in bliss, his young and sensitive body trembling with lust, full of energy and youthful stamina. "Daddy!", he cried out, feeling the ecstatic pleasure suddenly flush his system and his own pulsing length suddenly erupt, cum shooting out of his untouched dick and his pussy clenching rhythmically around Malik's thick beast of a cock, Oli's body in blissful heat but showing no signs of the arousal subduing in any way, the leaking length still as hard and bouncing gently under the impact of the muscular man's thrusts.
It would be no exaggeration to Malik, as he rose between the other's thighs, to describe Oliver as by far the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen. He'd always thought the other was pretty in a way that others just couldn't compare to - something he'd playfully teased Oli about when he called him things like 'pretty boy' - or when he'd forget that he was staring at him and the two would share those secret, flirty glances that the younger male would shy away from - but seeing the other like this; flushed, naked and begging for him so shamelessly and wantonly was beyond erotic and Malik, with all his years of experience, also wouldn't exaggerate if he said that he was more turned on now than he'd ever been before.
Oliver calling him 'Daddy', referring to himself as Malik's 'girl' and his hole as his 'pussy' all stoked the flames of Malik's desire and it was mere seconds after the other spoke that he was kissing him and lining his beast-like cock up with the other's well-worked hole and pushing back inside of him; the need to be connected to Oli, the need to claim and ruin him, the need to fill him with his seed and mark his territory- it all overwhelmed the much larger, muscular man. There was no room right now for teasing or playing around, they needed one another in a way more intimate and carnal than either could probably explain. He moaned hotly into the kiss as he entered Oli, the other somehow still tight after everything and making him force himself into his once virginal hole. One of Malik's hands found it's way into Oli's hair, tugging it while his other hand began to mindlessly play with one of the other's nipples as they kissed and as his hips started to move; probably sooner and rougher than Oliver would be ready to take, but there was no stopping Malik in this moment.
"Baby girl ..." he breathed as he fucked the younger male, the sounds of their skin-on-skin filling the room along with their panting breaths and deep moans, "This pussy belongs to me," he growled softly, gently biting down on Oli's lower lip, "It was made for me," he added, "And I'm never letting a day go by that I don't keep it filled with my seed." Malik might've been talking dirty in the moment but there was also a certainty, a confidence and a surety to his words that made them sound like a promise; which is what they were to Malik. He never spoke like this to any of his conquests that had come before. No, this was a side of him that had been clawing away at his psyche for years, begging to be let out, begging to have Oliver given to it. And now, the beast had been unleased, and it showed in how mercilessly and passionately he fucked the other now, never stopping or slowing, even when he spoke to the other.
"Never wanna stop fucking you, baby girl," he admitted against the other's lips, tugging his hair even tighter and forcing his head back, his other hand now finding Oliver's throat; wrapping his fingers around it like a physical but metaphorical collar, breath heavy against the other as his eyes never left Oli's as he continued to fuck the other like an animal, "You're mine."

katsuki bakugou
»»————- ★ ————-««
Before you even start the dance, you’re pumping yourself up. The song is playing, and you’ve just decided you’ll dance to the part when it gets to it.
You practiced hard enough, and you had a few injuries but now you were ready.
Bakugou’s watching you closely. This song was very interesting to him.
All of the analogies in the song are shocking him the more he listens to it. It’s kind of groovy though.
Bakugou’s waiting, and as he reaches for his phone the ending hook comes and he’s frozen as you kick your leg up and begin to dance.
He watches as you bounce back in forth, your curves moving to the music.
He’s shocked by the way you move, he’s never seen you do anything like that before. But he’d certainly like to see you do it again.
“What was that?” Bakugou smirks. You catch your breath and stand up, smiling.
“The new dance I learned, did you like it?” You question, walking over to him.
“Oh I loved it.” Bakugou smirked. You rolled your eyes and sat down on his lap.
“Glad you enjoyed it.”
“Could you teach me how to do it?” Bakugou’s eyes were speaking for him, you knew exactly what he meant, but before you’d show him the dance privately, you’d worked his ass out and had him learn the dance.
He nailed it-

shoto todoroki

You’ve been practicing this dance for about a week or two now. And you were so excited to see Todoroki’s reaction of it.
“Hey Sho?” You call for your boyfriend and he emerges from his room. You were at his house, and thankfully there was plenty of space for you to do said dance.
“Yes baby?” He asks, standing in the doorway of the large studio you’d been warming up in.
“I have a dance I’d like for you to see me do.” You smile innocently.
“Alright.”
You begin to play the music, just before it gets to the part you’ll be dancing too and Todoroki’s face is already red.
And when the beat drops, you’re kicking your leg up and dropping down to the floor, popping your ass out and going at it.
Todoroki is entranced as he watches you, completely mesmerized by how you’re moving.
It’s so beautiful.
When you get to the split, Todoroki’s eyes widen as you move. He’s blown away.
“That was amazing.” Todoroki compliments. It was hot.
“I’m glad you liked it.” You whisper to him, pecking his cheek as his face reddens even more.
“Hey wait.” Todoroki grips your wrist and looks down.
“Do you have a few minutes?”
“Do you want a private dance lesson?”
“Yes.” Todoroki whispers.

Be prepared. Because Izuku is going to be a blushing mess before and after.
You’ve practiced, and he’s heard the song you practiced too. It was all over social media and he accidentally interrupted you while you were practicing.
But you shooed him out and finished up alone without any interruptions.
Deku can be a shy boy but he can also be dominant. A true switch.
“You ready?” You ask as Izuku sits down on the couch nervously. He nods and relaxes, sitting back into the dark green sofa.
The music starts and you sway your hips, waiting for the beat to drop, and when it does, you do too.
Izuku’s eyes are glued to you as you kick your leg up and land on the floor, throwing your ass out and following the routine.
Midoriya’s cheeks flush red as he watches, but he can certainly tell how hard it must’ve been to learn the dance, let alone how badass it was as well.
When you finish the dance, you bow and smile at Izuku, who’s trying his best to contain his excitement and fluster.
“That was amazing!” He was proud of you. He knows how hard training can be.
“Did you like it?” You questioned innocently, striding over to him on the couch, taking a seat on his lap.
“I loved it! You did great!” Deku beamed, no longer trying to hide his blushing face.
“There’s a lyric, in this song...”
“Yeah?” Deku’s hands rest on your hips.
“I think I’d like to spell my name out for you sometime.”

denki kaminari
»»————- ★ ————-««
Horny. Jail.
If anyone knows this song, it’s Kaminari. He knows it word for word, and it’s probably one of his most played songs at the moment. Not for its lyrics, but because he genuinely finds it pretty groovy.
He also finds the ‘touch that little dangly dang that swing in the back of my throat’ part funny.
He’s probably also seen the dance a few times, he’s woke when it comes to tik tok culture.
So when he overhears you practicing the dance, he’s very curious.
“Whatcha doin’?” He peaks his head into the room and you quickly snap out of the position you were in.
“Nothing! Go!” You shoo him away with a smile, closing the door so you can finish practicing.
Kaminari has an idea of what’s going on.
So when you perform the dance for him, he’s aware and he knows what he’s expecting, but at the same time, he did not expect it at all.
The way your body moved and flowed with the music, you looked good, really fucking good.
“Shit.” Kaminari cursed, biting his bottom lip as you brought your leg back around, bouncing into the final split as you bounced up and down.
Kaminari’s never really seen you move like that before, but he knows now that he loves every second of it.
“What’d you think?” You ask, stepping over to him.
“I-It was good.” Kaminari had drool leaking from his mouth as he stared at you, his entire body threatening to short circuit.
“I’m glad you liked it.” You lean down and kiss his cheek, knowing that he was going to be smitten for you even harder.
»»————- ★ ————-««
eijiro kirishima
»»————- ★ ————-««
He’s heard the song maybe once or twice thanks to Kaminari. He likes the song and thinks it’s actually pretty good.
He doesn’t know there’s a dance for it, and he certainly doesn’t know that you’re practicing it.
So when you bring him into your bedroom and sit him down on the bedroom, he’s a little confused.
And when you start dancing, his faces turns a shade of crimson, very similar to the one he dyes his hair.
Your body moves swiftly, and Kirishima’s eyes never seem to leave you as he watches you dance.
From the way you move your hips, to the point of your toes as you kick into the split.
Watching you do something like that is impressive, Kirishima is impressed.
“Wow.” Kirishima utters as you rise to your feet, clapping your hands together with a big grin on your lips.
“Did you like it?” You question, excitement bubbling inside you. It’d taken hours, probably close to a few days in fact, of practice to nail it. And it was well worth it.
You felt sexy, and validated, and strong, and badass.
“I loved it. You did amazing.” Kirishima smiles, trying to ignore the heat on his face.
“You’re blushing Kiri.” You comment, teasing the red-head as you walk over to him.
“I’m not! I’m just...”
“Being manly. I know.” You kiss his cheek and sit on his lap, wrapping your arms around his shoulders.
“Are you tired?” Kirishima asked quietly, his large hands resting on your hips.
“Why? Do you have something in mind?”

tamaki amajiki
»»————- ★ ————-««
Tamaki is flustered just being around you. He’s a nervous kind of guy, granted he can swallow his nerves when he needs too, but generally speaking, he’s gonna be a blushing mess when you mention even holding hands.
It’s no surprise what this song does to him.
Between the loss of words, and the sheer heat that radiates off of the bright blush on his cheeks, he’s flustered.
Even more so when you begin to dance.
It’s not like he’s embarrassed of sex, or songs that mention it, he just happens to get flustered easily.
Especially when you dance.
And you dance well.
He’s battling watching you or looking away and not trying to imagine the dance as anything more than a dance. It’s hard, but you wanted him to watch you. Why should he feel bad?
“B-bunny.” He stutters quietly as you transition into the split, popping your hips out, bouncing off the ground.
When the music fades out, he covers his face to hide the enormous blush on his cheeks.
“Awe, Tama-”
“Bunny. T-That was so beautiful.” He stutters, peeking through his fingers to look at you as you approach him.
“Thank you. Are you alright, your face is really red.” You peel his hands away and get close to his face, admiring your boyfriend up close.
“I-I’m fine. J-Just a little hot.” Tamaki gushes, looking away quickly.
“You don’t have to be so flustered about it, I wanted you to see me dance! It’s okay Tamaki.” You kiss his cheek and hold his hands, earning his gaze.
“Bunny.” Tamaki pulls you on top of him and you laugh at him for a second before admiring him even closer.

Ass man ass man ass man.
He literally sticks his ass out of a bush and you’re gonna tell me he isn’t-
He’s sold the second he hears the song, he already knows what’s about to happen because he’s kind of into the whole tiktok thing.
He watches in antcipation as the song plays, waiting for the moment you drop to the floor.
And he’s so into it. He’s grinning like an idiot, practically drooling over you as your hips move in ways he’d only ever imagined them to move.
More so, when you do the splits, he’s curious about how long you can do them for.
And when it’s over, he’s clapping.
“That was amazing, I had no clue you could move like that.” Mirio hus as you walk over to him.
“I’ve been practicing. I’m glad you liked it!” You smile, giving hin a short hug.
“Could I see those moves again sometime?” Mirio asks cheekily. You giggle and sigh.
“I guess I could teach you a little about them.”

This motherfucker.
He knew from day one what you were going to do. Just from hearing the song a little more often from your shared room, and the denial of him entering said room while it was playing-he caught on really quick.
So he did a little research.
And after watching a few videos of people dancing to it, he couldn’t fucking wait.
To see you do those moves? To see you move like that? Oh god he was foaming at the mouth.
He’d purposely try and spy on you while you were practicing, even daring to peep in from the window by flying outside of it.
But at the same time, he wanted it to be a surprise. He’d catch himself in the act of trying to watch you practice and he’d curse himself for being so impatient. Being patient was going to make the final experience even better.
And oh how happy he was to have waited.
Watching you pop your ass and move your hips, laying on the floor and bouncing your ass upward and even doing a split.
He was impressed.
And he was even more so, very intrigued.
“You gonna put all that training to use, Babybird?” Hawks’ sly smile and relaxed position on the couch made the comment that much more sensual.
With his arms stretched out over the tops of the cushions, and his legs pointed outward, you crawled and sat right between them, gazing up at him with bright eyes.
“You’d be lucky if I even let you sleep in the same bed with me tonight, horny ass.”
“Hey- I’m not even in season yet!”
“Shut it bird brain! You can test them out for yourself!” You joked as you got up, walking away from the winged man.
“Oh Babybird, you have no idea.”

dabi
»»————- ★ ————-««
Much like Hawks, this bastard is way too horny to not know what the fuck is going on when he hears the song WAP playing.
Even more when you practically beat his ass for barging into your apartment without knocking.
“I’m busy! What do you want?” You ask as you push him out of your bedroom, into the hallway toward the front door.
“I’m just checking in on my baby. Is that illegal?”
“Dabi, you’re literally a criminal-”
“A criminal of love baby.”
“Get out. I’ll text you if I need you dumbass.”
Back to practice, it’s tricky. The dance is very fast-paced, but you nail it. after way too many ice-packs and ‘fucking shit’s said later, you have mastered the WAP dance.
Around ten minutes after a ‘come over’ text, Dabi arrives to your apartment.
With candles set out, awaiting Dabi’s blue flames to light them and set the mood, you’re dressed simply in one of Dabi’s favorite outfits.
“Oh baby.”
“Light the candles and sit down.”
With no further questions, Dabi does as he’s told and takes a seat on the couch which he quickly notices is pushed back further than it usually is. Come to notice even more, most of your living room furniture is moved out of the way entirely.
When the music begins, you begin to dance as well, not wasting a second as the lyrics float into Dabi’s ears.
Watching your hips and your ass, Dabi is clearly interested in what you’re serving him. You look good too, but when you move like that, of course he’s going to be a drooling mess.
In a less sexual way, he’s impressed with your moves, he knows training is a big step to anything, so he wonders how hard you worked, and for how long, it took you to master this dance.
“Come here baby.” Dabi ushers for you to come to him with his pointer and middle finger after you finish dancing.
You take a seat on his lap and smile.
“We’ve already set the mood, why not continue? You could give me a private lesson on those moves you just did.”

He has no clue what you’re doing. You asked if you could show him something and now he’s in a room alone with you.
You’re setting up some music and he can’t keep his eyes off of you and the way you’re dressed. He was thankful he was alone in the room with you or he might’ve had to tell people to step out.
You were his angel after all, not anyone else’s.
When the music starts, his the tips of his ears begin to burn bright red. This music is raunchy and sexy, but he likes it. It’s got a good tune, and it’s empowering, and then he sees you.
You’re swaying your hips to the music until a certain point and you drop to the floor, popping your ass and grinding against the floor, dancing to the music erotically.
He’s impressed. Not as much that you’re dnacing on the somewhat dirty floor, but he’s impressed nonetheless.
“Angel, that was riveting.” Chisaki comments, his arms crossed over his chest. He can feel his pans becoming tight but he decides to ignore it.
“So did you like it? I worked extra hard on it.” You look so innocent as you approach him, your pink lips pursed and begging to be kissed as you stand in front of him.
“I loved it.” Chisaki nods, a smile rests on his lips under his mask unable to be seen.
“I could show it to you again up close if you’d like.” You hint at something a little more physcial which only stirs Chisaki more.
“That sounds like a good idea, angel.”

tomura shigaraki
»»————- ★ ————-««
I’m not sure if Tomura is a big tik tok guy. He’s into video games, and probably graphic novels too, but depending on his fyp, he probably won’t even get close to hearing the WAP song or know anything about the dance.
That being said, he’s gonna get annoyed if he hears “now from the top, make it drop’ one more time.
Currently wishing he could grip a sound wave and decay it.
But, when you pull him away from a video game, or say a meeting with league and sit him down in a chair in a dark room with some rather unpleasant lighting, maybe just enough to illuminate the two of you and nothing else, he’s confused, but also very interested in what you’re about to do.
And there’s that stupid line- ‘now from the top,’ and- you’re dancing.
His crimson eyes lock onto your figure as you dance, the growing urge to turn the music off suddenly dies as he watches you bounce and pop your hips.
The way your body moves, he’s addicted. Like you’re administering some sort of drug, he can’t look away.
When you lay on the ground and roll onto your back, spreading your legs as you roll into a crawl and then into split and continue to bounce your ass, he’s completely speechless.
The very definition of no thoughts, head empty.
And the aftermath of it all.
forget whatever the fuck he was doing before, forget the grudge he was holding against the lyric’ now from the top, make it drop’, forget the terrible lighting, he’s getting down to the bottom of whatever you just did.
“What was that?” Shigaraki ask, his hands daring to scratch at his neck.
“Did you like it?” You ask, batting your eyes at your flustered yet confused boyfriend.
“I liked it yes.” He mumbles, looking at you from the chair, you’re still sitting on the ground as he stands and walks over to you.
“You’re really flexible. Why didn’t you tell me that before?” He towers over you before squatting to your height.
“Meet me in my room in ten minutes.” He whispers.

A man addicted to black coffee and funny cat videos on youtube has no knowledge of WAP or it’s current dance craze on tik tok. But do not let that discourage you.
After hearing the song a few times while you practice your dance, unbeknownst to him, of course, he might get a little curious.
You’re being secretive and it leads him to do a little research. Simply typing in a few lyrics, he finds the song and the dance shortly after.
He’s more or less very interested in what you might have to be doing. Because if you’re learning this dance, he might not know what to do with himself.
Sure enough, you come striding out of your shared room one day, wearing something cute for Aizawa.
“Got a minute?” You ask, pulling him away from grading papers.
Sitting him on the couch, you step back and turn on the song, smiling as he watches you.
And watch you he does. From the second you kick your leg up, to the second you bounce your ass the last time, ending the dance.
His eyes never leave you. The way you crawl, the way you lay on the floor and pop your hips up, he’s not the least bit uninterested.
“Where’d you learn all that Kitty?” He asks, folding his arms over his chest, his long raven hair parted to watch you even better.
“From the internet. Why? Curious to learn it too?” You tease, crawling over to him.
“Only if you teach me.” He says slyly.
“You’re supposed to do the teaching not me.” You smile up at him.
“Is that how you want to play?” Aizawa smirks and crosses his leg, cutting you off from crawling between his legs.
“You tell me, Kitty cat.”

pairings: Lucifer x Fem!Reader, Mammon x Fem!Reader, Leviathan x Fem!Reader
warnings: tw abandonment (but it turns out okay, I promise), mentions of the act of birthing,
A/N: you came to the right place! as the second oldest of six children, I have some experience when it comes to pregnancy:) I hope you don't mind, nonny, but I'm gonna split this up into a few parts so I can do the dateables as well!
Lucifer
The moment you had shyly produced the positive pregnancy test from the pocket of your hoodie, it felt like Lucifer had entered into a fever dream filled with nursery designs, baby names, the expenses that pile up before the baby even arrives, researching human pregnancy, keeping you out of harm's way and healthy and happy...
So when you first stagger out of bed and rush to his bathroom, hand clamped over your mouth and one shaky hand on your slightly swollen tummy, Lucifer isn't surprised
He is very concerned, however. You had been so nervous to tell him of your pregnancy, you waited until the last moment before your bump was noticeable to tell him
That meant you had been suffering from all of these pregnancy side effects before he'd permanently moved you to sleep in his room
Lucifer hoists himself out of bed and pads into the bathroom, gathering up your hair, if any, into his fist and pulling your hunched form between his legs for support
You hate this feeling with a passion; throbbing stomach and a lump in your throat with little to no vertigo and tears rolling down your face as you try and catch your breath
You tell him it hurts, you ask him if he can take the pain away as your head rests on his chest, lashes fluttering with wooziness
Lightheadedness was unbearably common; you would suddenly grip his sleeve and he could watch the color drain from your face and your knees get shaky, body beginning to sway
He always catches you though, finding a place for you to sit or lie down and gather yourself
Tummy rubs become more common; the feeling of his hands against your bare tummy, spreading their warmth and nullifying the ache, allowing you to relax
He's extremely attentive as well and can tell whenever you need something
Water? Here's a cup sweetheart, remember, you're hydrating and eating for two people!
Craving something? Chocolate? Fried pickles? Chips of some kind? sweets? He's stockpiled anything you could want and locked it away just for you.
I feel like Lucifer would want your baby to be a little girl. A little princess he can carry on his shoulders and spoil with his love and gifts.
Satan ruined him for having another baby boy, but if that's how the cards fall, he certainly wouldn't mind. Unfortunately, he'd be constantly walking on eggshells, afraid he'll make your little boy into another rebellious child
That's the last thing he wants
Lucifer does his best to keep his kid away from Satan and Belphie and out of the 'Formerly Anti-Lucifer League', but sometimes you're taking a nap or out shopping with Asmodeus, and Satan and his brothers manage to coerce the little one into their shenanigans
One thing is for sure though, even if Lucifer didn't want any kids and the creation of one was unplanned, he would never ever turn you away
He's very responsible and does anything in his power to make the pregnancy as easy and happy as possible
On the day you are to give birth, he's a mess
He has already sweat through 3 shirts by the time the IV has been secured to your hand
Everything he says doesn't come without a stutter
He's squeezing your hand and kissing your hair during labor, trying to distract you from the burn between your legs as much as he can
You probably need extra stitches from baby's horns ngl
Definitely cries before the baby is even put in your arms
Refuses to let his brothers come and see you, "They can wait until we go home."
Lucifer is Smitten™
He smooches the tiredness under your eyes and tells you to get some rest
Surprisingly, he enjoys a lot of the names from the human world you discuss and will most likely pick one of those
But if it's a girl, her name is Lilith. I'm sorry MC, your input is invalid at this time
You don't regret 'final day in the devildom sex' at all when you get to witness the Avatar of Pride reduced to tears when the nurse puts the child in his arms
P-P-Pregnant? MC, ya better be jokin'...
Mammon
You weren't, judging by the pregnancy test(s) clutched in your fist
He's not mad at you, he's not upset, (in fact, he's the happiest he's ever been), he just scared
Broken Condom Victim™
He loved you just a bit too hard last week...
but let's be real here, HIS MC, carrying HIS baby?
That's like the highest level of ownership on his lovely human you could get! Levi, Asmo, Beel, Lucifer, everyone would be SOOOO JEALOUS!!!
AND
He gets to have a little one running around again!
You saw how sweet he was to babified Satan in the obey me anime premier! He LOVES little kids and nothing would make him happier than someone to play with (besides MC of course) that wouldn't make fun of him for messing up and being silly!
AND
You're so pretty!!
I mean, ya were always pretty, but somethin' about ya is different and yer even more beautiful than before somehow!
Mammon said, his entire face the shade of a pomegranate
Pregnancy glow is REAL
Asmo agrees, after stealing you away from an extremely overprotective mammon and hiding in the attic to chat without disturbance (mammon)
But as much as YOU know he would be the BEST father, comments from his brothers continue to drag him down and the evenings he cried into your shoulder became more and more frequent as your pregnancy progresses
Mammon, as we all know, is, in fact, a tiddy man
He likes to touch and squeeze them, and just gently hold them while cuddling or even browsing in a store, he'd just come up behind you and touch your boobs
(also, mammon likes all sizes, so if you have next to no tiddy like me, you'll be at his mercy as well. those with the large honkers, however, watch yourself)
Now that there's a miracle growing in your tummy, other parts of your body are preparing for its arrival, including your chest
Swelling, swelling, soreness, growing and darkening of the nipples, and swelling make it so Mammon can no longer touch your pretty tiddies :(((
(grammarly didn't like that word)
On the day mammon snack size was to be born, mammon is silent but extremely fidgety
It was early in the morning when you'd shaken him awake like, "mammoney, I'm going into labor" and he was out of bed and out the door with your luggage before you finished blinking
After grabbing your DDD's and you, he carries you down to the car (what dysfunctional family doesn't have a car? a nice one (Mercedes, Audi, you get the idea) for lucifer and a Volkswagon bus or something for his siblings to share) and drives quickly, but very carefully drives to the hospital, holding your hand the whole way.
He covers your eyes when they put the IV in, just in case you're squeamish, and rubs your arms as the drugs begin to take effect and there's a little fear in your eyes at the thought of pushing an entire human/demon being out of your coochie
He assures you and never lets go of your hand no matter how long you're in labor
When it's all over with and you are resting in your hospital bed waiting for the doctors to finish the Apgar tests and give you your baby
Mammon is speechless as the nurse places the baby in your arms
That's HIS KID!!
Immediately starts crying
The little horns poking out of the blanket? Those look just like his!!
Judging by the bit of hair on it's head, it looks like the baby will have hair like yours
If it's a baby boy, he thinks it should be named "Mammon II" but you just giggle and remind him of the deal he made with lucifer long ago, that his first born child, no matter the gender, had to have 'Lucifer' somewhere in their name
Human names are dumb, except for yours of course, so he searches for suitable demon names
The last thing he wants is a kid named Lucifer, so that will be the kid's middle name
He really regrets his past decisions now
Leviathan
"Levi?"
"Yeah, babe?"
"I'm pregnant."
*leviathan has been KO'd*
No joke, this man is literally floored and didn't wake up for a while and you were afraid you had just slain the fucking Lord of Shadows
Some Henry you were
You had to call Lucifer in to wake him up because he was still flat on the floor a half and hour later
Mammon is more that happy to tip a bucket of ice water on the face of the son of a bitch that impregnated HIS MC
Levi wakes up and pounces on you, gripping you tightly by the arms
"You're k-kidding r-right?"
Him? A father?
Uhhhhhhh
Unfortunately, Leviathan.exe has stopped working, try again in two thousand years
I hate to say this, but he definitely detaches himself for a while until his brothers, especially Asmodeus, literally beat him into shape
He comes back to you, a little bruised and sobbing, but not from the beating he just received
He's so sorry he neglected you! He's such a horrible demon, undeserving of your welcoming nature
He's gonna be the worst dad, and he's not good enough for you, and his kid will hate him just like everyone else does, he doesn't deserve you, he's so sorry for making you suffer the side effects and feel all alone,
Sir, I-
FALSE
It's your turn to shake some sense into him, reminding him that he would be the. best. dad!!
Not to mention the fact that you were just happy he realized his mistakes and came back to you
He begs you to sleep in his bed tub with him for security, and you have to admit his tail is very comforting
Levi does extensive research on human pregnancy and now at the dinner table, instead of talking about the latest slice of life anime he'd been watching, he's just spouting random pregnancy facts and you're laughing so hard it brings you to tears
When the weird dreams and vivid nightmares happen, Levi is right behind you, rubbing your swollen tummy, and letting you talk about them
A lot of them were about him and about your future child
Most of them were about how they got hurt in some way, either that or YOU got hurt and the baby died
These, more often than not, brought you to tears and stress you out, but Levi is right there, okay? Nothing can hurt you, nor would he let anything happen to you on his watch
Learns how to massage you (safely) to reduce stress
Definitely talks to the baby a lot
Levi begged you to be induced so the birth was safe and not a sudden occasion and you agree
On the day the doctor recommended, you arrived at the hospital and got down to business
Levi didn't really want to be in the room with you, but he knew he had to for your sake and he'd played a few birth simulators from both perspectives and you really needed him
Kinda sits there awkwardly comforting you and encouraging you, holding your hand and caressing your cheeks, a bit flushed from exertion and tears
Listen
If the baby is a boy, his name will be Henry and that's final
If it's a girl, he doesn't really care, as long as you don't name her 'mammonia' or something dumb like that
definitely crashes your hospital bed to snuggle until the baby is ready
cries when the baby wraps its extremely small digits around one of his own
also at the little horns protruding from its head
and the tuft of purple in its head
Also Smitten™
He's so excited to get home and show off his beautiful baby to his brothers and then formulate a plan to raise the kid to live and breathe TSL just like his daddy <3

Word Count: 5500 (wow)
Author’s Note: Life has been really hard. I won’t beat around the bush. It was hard to do anything... but your kind words and support really kept me going. Truly you guys straight up manifested this chapter with your incredible support. As always, my angels @ppersonna @xjoonchildx @untaemedqueen and @underthejoon were the best betas and the best friends anyone could ask for. My thanks to ALL of you for helping me bring this story to life!
“Alpha.”
Namjoon’s voice echoed through the clearing with profound resonance.
There would be no more fighting.
There would be no more doubt.
It was a complete surrender, the kind only a true Alpha could compel.
A frantic whimper suddenly split the air, drawing every eye to you-
But you saw only him.
“Untie me,” you pleaded, struggling impatiently against the restraints.
One of the elders moved to release you, but before she could, Jin produced a knife and cut you free with the kind of terrifying precision expected of a man who was every bit as deadly as he was beautiful.
Then you were running - and this time, no one could stop you.
Your body crashed into his and fiery joy shot through you as he pulled you into his arms.
His scent wrapped around your senses like a warm blanket, covering the fear and pain of the past days in unimaginable relief.
“Jimin.”
“I’m here. I have you,” he whispered.
Your entire frame seemed to shake as you sobbed against his chest. It was as if you could not draw close enough - could not hold tight enough - to be satisfied. Part of you was still terrified that you would wake up and discover that all of this had been a dream...
Then you heard it.
Another set of knees hitting the ground.
“Alpha.”
Then another-
“Alpha.“
And another
“Alpha.”
Till the air was filled with hundreds of voices, all speaking the same word.
“Alpha.”
Namjoon remembered very little of what happened after his surrender...
Just pain.
His limbs seemed oddly disconnected from the rest of his body. There was blood everywhere (and he was reasonably sure it was his).
He knew he should feel defeated, broken - ashamed even.
Instead he felt strangely...
Light.
As if a great weight had lifted from his shoulders.
The last thing he saw before losing consciousness entirely was Yunli’s tear-stained gaze - still fixed on him - even as the others turned to face their new Alpha.
He breathed out her name in a quiet, desperate plea as the darkness overtook him.
Jimin was only in your arms a few moments before healers and half the elder’s council came rushing forward on all sides.
You snarled instinctively at the first elder who tried to collect him, but a healer eventually got close enough to reason with you after pointing out that the wound on his shoulder could possibly become infected if left untreated for much longer.
An Alpha’s injuries always took the highest priority, but Jimin directed them all toward Namjoon, brushing away anyone who attempted to tend to him.
By that point Jin and your mother had found their way to your side and were gently trying to pull you back - even as more elders reached for your mate.
Everyone was speaking at once - words about preparations and plans and ceremonies - but none of it registered over the waves of frantic adrenaline still pounding through your system.
You didn’t know what they wanted or why they were so close-
just that they were trying to take him away again.
No.
Suddenly a senior elder placed his hand on Jimin’s forearm and your wolf snapped entirely.
Omegas were known for their speed and as a Luna, yours was unparalleled.
Two council members and a healer went flying into the dirt within the space of a single second as your body instinctively assumed a defensive stance. The remaining elders stumbled back in alarm and your mother fainted dead away forcing Jin to catch her rather inelegantly.
Your canines began to lengthen as you pressed your back to the Alpha, letting primal rage guide your movements.
They had tied you up.
Forced you to watch as he was attacked again and again and again-
An omega would defend their mate to the death and you had spent days knowing he was in danger...
Feeling powerless, feeling paralyzed-
Your wolf had simply had enough.
“Luna please-“ the chief elder began cautiously, but you cut him off with warning growl and lunged - fully prepared to end the next person who attempted to separate you from-
Strong arms closed around you, pulling you back to the comforting warmth that enveloped you moments ago.
Jimin.
“Luna,” he whispered against your skin and you shivered, letting your eyes flutter shut.
Then you felt it.
The gentle pressure of the Alpha - your mate - nosing softly at your neck.
It was a gesture of soothing affection.
Of gratitude.
Slowly he turned you in his arms till you were facing him once again. The fire in your blood began to fade as you simply took him in, struck by the sensual beauty of his face and the possessive heat in his gaze.
“So fierce,” he hummed, tilting his head so you could bury yourself in his scent once more. His hands brushed soothing circles over your back, leaving delicious sparks of pleasure in their wake.
“I’m safe,” he promised as you nuzzled into him needily. “You can rest now...”
The pleasant pull of his command wove heavily through your senses. You felt your feet leave the ground as he lifted you fully into his arms...
Then you slipped into a blissful sleep.
The healers worked for hours on Namjoon.
Some betas were blessed with minor healing abilities - a valuable gift stemming from a type of energy transference. He could feel the heat of their hands as they poured themselves - literally - into mending his battered body.
His ribs were set and wrapped tightly and the swelling and bruising were already beginning to fade due to the assortment of vile tasting herbal concoctions they insisted on ramming down his throat.
Accelerated healing and potent herbal intervention truly went a long way, but it would take time and rest to restore him fully.
Despite his lingering soreness, Namjoon was finally lucid enough to think for the first time since the fight and there was certainly a wealth of things to think about…
Yet his mind kept going back to that moment-
To her.
“Kim Namjoon.”
Every hair on his body raised to attention.
“Alpha-”
He struggled to pull himself upright, but Jimin placed a hand on his arm to still him.
“Please,” he spoke softly, “let me sit. I’ve caused you enough trouble for one day.”
A painful chuckle stuttered out of Namjoon and he shook his head.
“Shouldn’t I be the one saying that? We both know this is entirely my fault.”
Jimin’s eyes dropped in reluctant amusement..
“You think rather highly of yourself,” he said with a barely perceptible grin, echoing his words in the chief elder’s chambers a day - a lifetime - ago. “I believe I had something to do with it as well.”
Namjoon laughed and winced immediately. He rubbed gingerly over the binding on his ribs before voicing the question that had plagued him from the moment he awoke.
“How quickly?”
The Alpha tilted his head in confusion. “I’m not sure I understand.”
“How quickly,” Namjoon grunted, pulling himself to an upright position, “could you have killed me?”
There was a strange sort of acceptance in his eyes, a profound and untainted respect that Jimin was wholly unused to receiving from a man like him.
It was equal parts humbling and overwhelming.
“The first hit... a little to the left - at full force - would have fractured your sternum and penetrated your heart. You’d have been dead in a matter of minutes.”
Namjoon was silent for a long time.
“Why did you spare me? ...I challenged you, threatened you, intended to lay claim to your mate which-” he rubbed idly at the back of his neck, “I’m beginning to understand is enough to enrage any man… So why am I still here?”
“Because,” Jimin sighed, “apparently I think very highly of you too, Kim Namjoon.”
“Well… I’m flattered, but I - I still don’t understand… I’ve done nothing but underestimate you. Most wolves would have made an example of me.”
“Oh I intend to make an example of you,” Jimin smiled and Namjoon felt his blood run cold for the briefest instant, “but not in the way you’re thinking.”
The Alpha’s eyes took on a strangely solemn light. “I have no intention of ruling through fear and violence.”
After a moment, his gaze met Namjoon’s again.
“You were right… Without your challenge, the pack would never have trusted my leadership. You were the obvious choice to be Alpha and without defeating you decisively, they would always look to you as an alternative.”
Namjoon eyed his collection of injuries sardonically.
“Something tells me you won’t have that issue now.”
“And I have you to thank for that.”
“So … you spared my life in gratitude?”
“I spared your life because it was well worth sparing. You have always led your clan with honor and dignity. You don’t strike me as someone who enjoys killing, yet you were willing to do so for the good of our people. Such a man is a far better example alive than he is dead.”
Namjoon could not help but be impressed by the younger alpha’s insight and perception.
Our goddess has chosen well.
“I am grateful for your mercy, Alpha... Though I’m sure there are some who believe I should have chosen death over the disgrace of defeat.”
Jimin’s jaw clenched. .
“Defeat is not a disgrace. I have learned some of my greatest lessons from it. Defeat is often a vital stop on the path to victory.”
The elder alpha grinned.
“I wouldn’t know. This is the first time I’ve lost.”
Jimin laughed and Namjoon’s impish smile suddenly became oddly serious.
“I want you to know… You have my loyalty - without question - and not simply because you spared me. It is clear that you were meant to lead.”
A subtle hint of awe crept into his tone as he continued.
“Honestly… I’ve only ever heard stories of primal alphas. I never thought I’d meet one,” he snorted, “or be foolish enough to fight him.“
Jimin drew back in confusion.
“I’m not familiar- ...I’ve never heard of a primal alpha.”
“Really?... Well ...I suppose that makes sense. I forgot how often you skipped camp.” He sighed and shifted into a more comfortable position before answering.
“A primal alpha is goddess-blessed. They cannot be compelled. Their command is powerful enough to compel members of other packs and even non-wolves. It is a rare gift.”
Jimin’s face easily betrayed his shock.
“I-...That’s-” he shook his head. “Why do you believe I have such a gift?”
“I suppose the first hint should have been your coloring. Silver wolves are never born to mundane destinies... But the real proof is in your eyes.” Namjoon leaned back against the headboard, quietly reliving the moment he discovered the depth of Jimin’s ability. “When you commanded me to yield, your eyes flashed gold. It’s the true sign of a primal alpha... of a king.”
King.
The word fell heavily between them.
A human king was a politician, a figurehead whose power became more symbolic as the ages passed.
But to the wolf nations, a king - an Alpha - was the heart of their pack. A warrior who bore the burden of leadership alongside his Luna.
The power of a wolf king was quite real.
The Alpha shifted uncomfortably
“I never thought I would be a king.”
“And I never thought I wouldn’t be.” His eyes dropped to his hands. “I’m not quite sure what I am anymore.”
“Perhaps I can help with that.”
Namjoon’s gaze met his with cautious curiosity.
“Oh?”
“You said yourself I skipped Alpha camp every year. I may have been destined to lead, but I won’t pretend that I’m completely prepared for it.”
All at once Namjoon realized why Jimin was there.
The transfer of power was a long and intricate process that should remain essentially uninterrupted until its completion.
There could only be one reason the Alpha had come to his bedside.
He was here to appoint his Praetor.
A Praetor wielded nearly as much authority as the Alpha. In terms of pack hierarchy, only the Alpha outranked him (or her). The commitment required was immense. Their role encompassed everything from ‘chief advisor’ to ‘the last line of defense.’
Praetor were expected to cut all obligations to their own clan and serve only the Alpha. They were an extension of his authority and vision. It was a lifetime appointment which could be extremely dangerous (depending on the number of territorial disputes one’s pack might be involved in).
If anything were to happen to the Alpha, a Praetor would assume the responsibility of protecting the Luna and ruling by her side (without any romantic obligations as Praetor often had their own mates) until their death.
“What about Taehyung?”
Jimin shrugged.
“What about him? I assure you, he has no interest in this at all.” A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips. “Besides, he serves me well as a best friend... A Praetor must be willing to disagree with me from time to time without worrying too much about my feelings. They must be in tune with the needs of the pack. Kim Taehyung is a good man… but he isn’t the right one. Not for this.”
The elder alpha considered his next words carefully.
“What you’re asking is no small request.”
“True,” Jimin nodded, “but how about this…” he grinned mischievously, “I promise to put in a good word for you with Min Yoongi when he finds out what you’ve done to his little sister.”
“I haven’t done anything to his little sister.”
“Yet.”
Namjoon cleared his throat guiltily.
“You realize this means we’ll have to talk every single day.”
“It’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make for the good of the pack.”
Namjoon laughed and Jimin smiled back, more sure than ever that he was making the right choice.
After a moment the Alpha held out his hand in an age old ceremonial gesture and finally voiced the question he had come to ask.
“Kim Namjoon, will you forsake your place in the clan of your blood to serve your Alpha and your pack as Praetor. Will you protect my blood as your own and fight by my side till the paths of our lives be complete?
Namjoon’s gaze locked with his as their palms met, letting the force of his resolve color each word.
“I swear it shall be so.”
It was well past noon when you stumbled from your bedroom to find Jin spread luxuriously over your kitchen island, popping berries into his mouth like a debauched satyr.
“I feel very odd…” you yawned, “almost like I-”
“Attacked half the elders council in a fit of horny rage?”
Your jaw dropped.
“I did no such thing!” A few choice memories began to flood back and your staunch defensive tirade stuttered in shock. “Wait...Did I-”
“You did.”
“I wouldn’t call it horny rage,” you muttered, massaging your temples as you struggled to process your own actions.
“I don’t know, the whole thing looked very horny to me.”
“Everything looks horny to you.”
Jin grinned but didn’t bother denying it.
“What do you remember?”
“I remember…” you pulled a water bottle from the fridge and took a long drink before answering,”...Jimin’s victory... People kept trying to take him away and then-”
Heat streaked across the back of your neck as you recalled the press of his lips on your skin.
“Oh...”
You shivered deliciously.
Jin sighed. “Yes, you were quite the spectacle. Who knows how many throats you would have ripped out if the Alpha had not intervened.”
“Oh goddess,” you moaned, burying your face in your hands. “He probably thinks I’m a lunatic.”
Jin rolled his eyes.
“I wonder if there is a celestial punishment for smacking the Luna upside the head.”
“Punishable by death - for sure,” you pouted, “and why would you even want to do that?”
“Because you’re an idiot. The man risked his life for you in ritual combat and then carried you home in his arms all the way from the sacred circle like a fairy tale princess.”
“He... he did?”
Your cousin nodded and tossed another berry in his mouth.
“The whole scene was so disgustingly romantic. I would have swooned if I wasn’t left to haul your mother back. Honestly I think I threw out my back.”
“And - and the pack?”
“They were free to swoon since they weren’t carrying your mother and most of them did. The man has become a bit of a legend already. Namjoon is one of the strongest alphas in the mountain kingdoms and Park Jimin dispatched him like it was nothing.” He paused to dab berry juice off his absurdly full lips. “I’d be surprised if every pack for a hundred miles hasn’t heard about it by now.”
“How is Namjoon?”
“Alive. He will make a full recovery.”
You sighed in relief. Truly, you had no desire to mate with the Kim alpha, but (despite the grumbling of your bloodthirsty wolf) you never wanted him dead.
Not to mention the loss of Namjoon would have cast a heavy shade over Jimin’s leadership. He was wise to spare him.
“Where is he? I want to see him.”
“Namjoon is with the healers-”
“Kim Seokjin,” you bopped him with your now empty water bottle. “I am obviously not talking about Namjoon. Where is my mate?!”
“Calm down, cousin. You’re getting that throat-rippy gleam in your eye again and I’m far too beautiful to go out like that.”
He reached for another berry.
“I need to see him.”
You were already marching toward the door when Jin yanked you back. It was always a surprise to see how fast he could move when he wanted to.
“My dear sweet Luna, you have one murderous rampage and forget all about our tedious traditions. The elders will be drowning him in the preparations and expectations of leadership for at least another ten hours.”
None of Jin’s sensible reminders mattered the least bit to your wolf. She was already suggesting all sorts of reasons you should just march into the council chambers and take him.
Park Jimin was yours.
You’ve waited long enough.
Your hand tightened on the doorknob.
“He left something for you.”
Kim Seokjin really was a wickedly clever man. He knew exactly which cards to play and exactly when to play them.
Your heart stuttered wildly in your chest as Jin nodded toward a small box on the table.
“He sent Taehyung to drop it off not long after the elders dragged him away from your bedside.”
If you had even an ounce of dignity left, you might have been embarrassed by how quickly you scrambled over to the gift, but you were well past caring about such things when it came to him.
Your cousin shook his head as you eagerly tore into the wrapping, impatient to discover what he could have possibly-
You gasped.
There, laying nestled in an ornate wooden box with a lavish blue satin interior, was the most beautiful pair of gloves you had ever seen…
Your fingers reached out to brush the soft white leather, custom stitched with intricately embroidered vines that wound around a beautiful silver wolf.
“They’re exquisite.”
Jim’s brow furrowed in confusion.
“They’re not just exquisite, they’re one of a kind.” His fingers traced over the emblem on the box. “This is the mark of the Bangtan Leatherworkers Guild. Every one of their pieces is unique.”
Your head tilted curiously as Jin began to lift back the satin lining.
“What are you doing?”
“You can only buy their merchandise directly from the shop in Seoul. There’s no way he could have gotten these today.”
“R...Really?”
Jin nodded.
“I’m about to find out for sure. Each piece produced by the guild comes with a certification. It includes the date of manufacture and the date of sale.”
After a moment he withdrew a small card embossed with gold writing.
“Well... what does it say?” you pressed impatiently.
An odd little smile drifted across Jin’s lips as he considered the information in his hands.
“These gloves were sold to Park Jimin three years ago... a few days before your 17th birthday.”
Min Yunli slept for most of the day after Taehyung brought her home.
The Alpha ordered his second to secure her and see to her safety not long after lifting the Luna into his arms.
In the end, Tae had to compel her again.
She fought to stay near Namjoon, but he needed medical attention and there was no real reason to allow her any access to the fallen alpha.
She had no claim on him.
She was nothing to him.
Nothing at all.
When she finally opened her eyes the sun was already dipping low on the horizon and the world around her was dim.
Aching emptiness sat heavily in her chest. The Change was another six days away which meant the connection between her consciousness and her wolf was not fully solidified… but she could still feel acidic pain of rejection festering in both halves of her heart.
Tears fell silently down her cheek as she considered her actions and what the consequences might be.
Namjoon probably hated her now. She had ruined everything for him.
An angry growl rumbled up from her stomach.
Yunli snorted humorously and shrugged off her dirty clothes, throwing on an oversized t-shirt before trudging out to the refrigerator.
Of all the problems she was facing, hunger was the easiest to fix.
“Do you normally walk around without pants?”
She just barely bit back a scream.
There - sitting on her couch (and looking significantly better than he had the last time she’d seen him) - was Kim Namjoon.
“How did you get in here?!” Yunli squeaked.
Namjoon held up a key.
“Yoongi gave it to me years ago.”
Though I doubt he intended for me to use it like this.
Her fists clenched and unclenched reflexively at her side.
“Have you… come to yell at me?” she whispered.
Namjoon didn’t respond right away, he was too distracted by the shapely curve of her legs and the soft glow of her skin under the warmth of the living room lamps.
Yunli, however, took his silence as confirmation of her worst fears.
“I’m so sorry...” she trembled, her beautiful eyes glistening poetically with unshed tears. “I don’t - I don’t know what came over me - I know I cost you the fight and I-”
Namjoon felt a chuckle bubble up in chest and winced.
“Yunli...your screams, however affecting, could not undo the will of the goddess.” He shook his head, “Park Jimin was born to be the Alpha.” His fingers rubbed idly at his chest. “I’ve never come across anything like his power.”
Her eyes traced over the damage to his body with obvious remorse.
“Are you ok?” she asked finally.
He had four cracked ribs, several critical lacerations, a concussion, two sprained elbows, countless contusions, and a split lip.
“Ah, it’s nothing,” he shrugged, barely suppressing a groan.
Yunli grinned, helplessly endeared as always. She opened her mouth to ask again why he was here, but he cut her off with a surprisingly curt question.
“Has Taehyung seen you like this?”
Yunli blinked. Twice.
“T-Taehyung? Like Kim Taehyung - your cousin?”
“Second cousin,” he growled, “I was told he brought you home.”
“Well. Yes. He did… I’m really grateful to him actually. I don’t know what would have happened if he hadn’t caught me and calmed me down.”
A loud ringing was building in Namjoon’s ears.
“Do you have an understanding with him?” he snarled.
Yunli’s jaw dropped.
“An understanding? With Yoonji’s Taehyung?!” She snorted. “I don’t have a death wish.”
“What’s Yoonji got to do with this? Isn’t she in Europe?”
“Never mind that. Why would you think Tae and I-”
“Tae?!”
Yunli’s eyes narrowed.
“What’s going on in that busted up skull of yours, Kim Namjoon?”
Namjoon was off the couch and pressing her against the wall faster than she would have thought possible in his condition.
“What’s going on is that for the past year you’ve been a real problem for me, Min Yunli.”
Yunli gasped as the muscled lines of his body weighed firmly into her own. Deep curls of pleasure flared up at every contact point.
Yes. Oh goddess, yes.
The force of his desire burned hot in the air between them. She had waited years for him to see her like this - to touch her like this...
“I wasn’t supposed to feel anything when you looked at me with your heart in those pretty brown eyes,” he murmured, brushing the tips of his fingers up over her arms till he was cupping her chin.
Yunli’s wolf keened in delight as she melted helplessly into his embrace.
It felt good. It felt so so good.
“I was convinced you were a challenge - a divine temptation put in my path to test my resolve-” his jaw clenched, “or simply an endless source of torment because you wanted me so badly and I could never have you.”
The sound of ripping fabric split the air as Namjoon clawed through the neckline of her t-shirt, baring her pert little breasts to him like an obscene feast.
“I was supposed to want the Luna,” he growled, squeezing the soft mounds roughly in his palms till she was whining and writhing against him, “-not Min Yoongi’s sweet little sister.”
Her gaze was so open - so trusting. Adoration shone through every inch of her regard and it was intoxicating.
She was intoxicating.
His hand slid down to grip her thighs, lifting her body till she was forced to wrap her legs around him for balance.
“Namjoon,” she whimpered as the sensitive folds of her core ground into his growing hardness.
“You just kept pushing and pushing-” he hissed, punctuating each word with delicious thrusts till the maddening pressure in her center was nearly unbearable. “Then last night you offered me a taste and it nearly destroyed me.”
His mouth finally descended on hers again and she opened to him eagerly, wrapping her arms around his neck with wanton desperation. A tortured groan slipped past his lips as he dragged her away from the wall and onto the sofa where she first discovered him.
“Is this what you wanted, Min Yunli?” he rasped between the fervent mating of their mouths. “To make me desperate? To take me apart until I’m half-mad with wanting you?”
“Yes,” she sobbed as he sucked mark after mark into her flesh, painting her body with the evidence of his passion.
She slipped her hands greedily under his shirt, aching to feel more of his skin against her own. Needy whines and moans fell from her mouth like a siren’s call, beckoning Namjoon to lose himself in the lush warmth of her body.
“If Kim Taehyung puts his greasy hands on you again, I’ll kill him.”
Yunli mewled in primal gratification at his bold words. She had waited far too long to hear them.
“All those months I suffered because my wolf recognized what I was too ignorant to see.”
The last shreds of her shirt flew across the room and Namjoon pinned her wrists above her head like a pagan offering, allowing his free hand to explore her curves with impassioned reverence.
“You are mine, Yunli,” he swore.
And she was.
She always had been.
Following Jimin’s victory, the pack exploded into a chaotic storm of gossip and ceremonial preparations. The story of his unlikely path to power had already spread beyond the borders of the mountain kingdoms.
“-messages are coming in from the high packs of Delhi and Beijing requesting to meet with him-“
The rise of new pack leaders typically brought with it a buzz of excitement, but the Luna and her newly victorious Alpha were anything but typical.
“-he’s a silver wolf. I always knew he was meant for more than just heading up the Park clan-“
The last Alpha king (the current Luna’s great-grandfather) died peacefully in his sleep nearly thirty years ago and the elder’s council ruled in the interim while they waited for a new Alpha to rise. This was the first (and likely the only) coronation most people would see in their lifetime.
“ - my friend from Seoul is begging me to invite her. Outsiders aren’t allowed to attend unless they’re the guest of a pack member- “
Preparations to transfer power were every bit as tedious and time consuming as the rest of pack law.
“-the council just announced that he’s chosen a Praetor. I’m sure it will be Taehyung-“
Aside from sneaking out to secure his Praetor (who was not Taehyung), the new Alpha had been holed up with the council, the heads of the ten major clans, and an army of envoys from other packs for nearly twelve hours.
“ -grandfather worked with him all day. He claims that the future king has already impressed the council-”
Park Jimin’s name echoed through the mountain kingdoms. People could speak of nothing else.
But there was one member of the pack who had not yet heard the news...
Yoongi took a deep breath as he waited for the woman on the other end of the line to accept his call. He was mentally and physically exhausted, but he had promised to tell her what happened as soon as he could.
Silence lingered eerily in the first few moments after she picked up.
“I really debated answering this,” Min Yoonji whispered at last. “I don’t know if I can bear to hear you say that Park Jimin is dead.”
She sighed heavily as she ambled down the stairs of her tiny apartment in Paris.
There were too many happy memories connected with him. He was Tae’s best friend... His loss would tear her former lover apart.
And she could not be there for him when it did.
She could never be there for him...
Several thousand miles away her cousin smiled.
“Park Jimin is not dead, Ji-ah.”
Yoonji missed the last step and crashed down inelegantly on her tail bone.
“WHAT?!” Her fingers scrambled to hold the phone secure in her precarious position. “You mean to tell me that Kim Namjoon lost - to PARK JIMIN?!”
“You sure picked a wild time to move to Europe,” Yoongi chuckled.
“I didn’t really move here per se... I just relocated temporarily but indefinitely.”
“Yes, I’m well aware. Your mother is still howling about what a disgrace it was to go through the Change away from your friends and family. So thank you for that.”
Yoonji sighed.
“What’s done is done... I know you don’t understand, but I promise to explain someday.” Her eyes drifted shut as she forced the pain in her heart aside. “... I can’t believe I missed all this. You have to tell me how he did it.”
“I will later, but I need to head back to the council chambers. We had a brief recess and I figured I’d call since it’s still early over there. However… I do have one last shocking revelation for you before I go.”
Yoonji rolled her eyes at her cousin’s dramatics.
“I’m not sure anything could shock me after finding out that Park Jimin is our new Alpha.”
“Jimin just made Namjoon his Praetor.”
Apparently I was wrong.
“WHAT!? So wait - that means Jinwook is now head of the Kim Clan?”
Yoongi’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“Jinwook? No, how could - ah never mind. You were already in Europe when he left.”
“Jinwook left?!”
“Yeah, he was finishing up a consultation in Bangkok when he met his mate in one of the packs up there. It's an older pack with almost no alphas so they asked him to stay. He’s lived in Thailand since August.” Yoongi yawned. “Believe it or not Kim Taehyung was just sworn in as the Kim Clan alpha.”
Dead silence met his declaration. For a moment he wondered if the call had been disconnected but then-
“...What... did you just say?”
Yoonji’s voice had taken on a strange hollow quality that had her cousin frowning into the receiver.
“I said Taehyung was just sworn in as a Clan alpha.”
“That... no that can’t be right... You’re saying Kim Taehyung - my Taehyung-”
“What do you mean your Taehyung?!”
“- is a Clan alpha?”
“Yoonji. I can’t believe I’m repeating this a third time. Yes. Tae is the new head of the Kim Clan. I watched him take the oath twenty minutes ago and I have to say-”
A heart wrenching sob cut him off abruptly.
“Oh goddess what have I done,” she gasped.
Yoongi’s eyes widened in fear and alarm.
“Ji-ah? What’s wrong?... Ji-ah?... Ji-ah?!”
But the line was dead.

pt. ii of iii
The sky was still dark when you woke with a splitting headache. You blinked the sleep from your eyelids, eyes adjusting to the shadowy silhouettes of furniture around you. This was— one of Wangshu Inn’s rooms? You checked yourself for wounds and fractures; there was a scrape on your knee, but it had been properly dressed and bandaged.
Zhongli.
You had to get Aether and get out. You would have taken any punishment from Zhongli for breaking the contract but Aether— it was clear that Zhongli knew he could get to you through him. Your brother was in danger, too.
Stumbling to the door, you threw it open to meet the stunning Liyue night view. At the altitude of Wangshu Inn, the air was always cold and crisp, and you took a deep breath as you stepped out of the room to come face to face with a pair of familiar, bright yellow eyes.
“Xiao?” The relief you felt was immense. No matter the danger, you’d always been able to depend on the Vigilant Yaksha to back you up in battle. “I’m so glad to see you. You won’t believe this—“
Once you took a better look at Xiao’s face, you trailed off. There was no surprise in his gaze. You had not found him by a stroke of luck; he was here to stop you from leaving.
“I know of your contract with Rex Lapis.” How long had it been since he had last spoken to you in that tone of disdain? “I have helped him uphold countless in the past few millennia. Even you are no exception.”
“Xiao, I didn’t even know what the contract meant,” you pleaded, hope soaring at the flicker in his eyes. “Please, let me leave.”
The Yaksha swallowed visibly, brows knitting together. “No,” he finally said. “Go back to your room. I don’t want to have to fight you while you’re in... this state.”
“You’d fight me here?” You said, for the second time that night. “The civilians—” As you turned to gesture at the staff of Wangshu Inn, you realized that despite the commotion, not one of them was looking in your direction.
“The staff of Wangshu Inn are prepared, as am I,” Xiao said, without so much as glancing in their direction, “to carry out the will of our lord.”
Ah. You were alone here. But still, you stood firm, and watched the resignation dawn in Xiao’s eyes. You had not backed down when Chef Mao told you they were out of Almond Tofu, during your dinner with Xiao three months ago. You had not backed down when three Abyss Mages had you cornered in Lingju Pass; and even as Xiao had slaughtered them, you’d tried to get one last swing in with a tree branch. You would not back down now, and Xiao knew it as well as you did.
“I wish it didn’t come to this,” Xiao said, and you believed him wholly.
He clasped his hand to his face, and when it came away, he was wearing his mask. You supposed that you should feel a little flattered that he thought he had to don his Yaksha mask to fight you, hungover as you were. But before that, you felt worry. You knew full well what the mask did to him, had seen your fair share of aftermaths after a battle had dragged too long.
“Xiao, don’t hurt yourself,” you whispered.
In his eyes, behind the teal glow of his veil, you saw just a flicker of hesitation. But not enough.
Just as you shifted into a defensive stance — the way Xiao had taught you to do during your sparring sessions — there was a movement behind you. The Yaksha looked up over your shoulder, and immediately bowed his head, his mask fading away as quickly as it had come. You turned, even though you already knew what you’d see: Zhongli, pristine and immaculate as ever, his coat carried gently in the wind.
Disappointment in Zhongli’s gaze had always been hard to stomach, but today, it felt like the weight of the world on your lungs. “So she did try to escape, then, before even granting me an audience?” The former Archon asked, every word chilling you to your core. “Thank you for your service, Xiao. You may go now.”
Xiao lifted his head, turning to go wordlessly. Before he disappeared down the stairs, he paused. “What are you going to do to her?”
Zhongli regarded him with a lidded glance. “Only what must be done.”
—
After Xiao’s leave, Zhongli turned to you.
“Do you understand now?” He asked, flicking his hand back in the same slow gesture as he always did when he was telling a long story. You remembered how much you adored listening to the tales of the Archon War. Stories of those he conquered, brought to life through his deep, rich voice. You never thought you’d be among them, one day. “Six thousand years is a long time, even for those who live forever. I know every crack, cave and crevice, every clan, bloodline and family in Liyue. There is no place for you to run.”
You knew what he left unspoken. You had been a part of Liyue for what, one, two years? He had raised it from the earth. Despite all his talk of friendship, you would find no allies here who would, when faced with the choice, defy their archaic lord for you.
Xiao’s betrayal still stung, but in light of the weight of Zhongli’s presence before you, it was all but inconsequential, and wholly unsurprising. The slight shiver that ran down your spine, this time, was not because of the cold night air.
“What did you do to Aether?” is the first thing you managed to say.
“Your brother is safe.” Zhongli assured you. “I’ve had him sent to Bubu Pharmacy for treatment, and Paimon is looking after him.”
The relief you felt was uneasy. Safe— for now, at least.
“Where is he?”
“A location that I have secured, personally. You may see him when we are done here.” Zhongli answered seamlessly. You did not miss the threat that was left unspoken. “Though, he is not the one you ought to be worrying about, right now.”
An amicable departure from Teyvat was but a dream at this point; but maybe if you swallowed your anger, you could get him to leave you alone. Of all the farewells you had imagined, this wasn’t one you hadn’t even imagined would come to pass.
“That was it, right?” You joked weakly, even the pretense of cordiality almost too difficult to maintain, “the Wrath of the Rock? I mean, you literally knocked me out.”
Zhongli studied you carefully, before opening his mouth. “What do you think?” He asked. “ Was that a punishment fitting enough for one who reneged against the God of Contracts?”
“I— I,” You stammered for a little, but stopped once you realized it was futile. Zhongli would exact what punishment he deemed you deserved, and no force in Teyvat could possibly hope to stop him. Defeated, you exhaled deeply. “Would it help my case if I said ‘yes’?”
“No,” Zhongli answered, without hesitation. “Not in the slightest.” There was nothing left of the Zhongli you knew — thought you’d known — in his stone-cold expression.
A festering fear had settled deep within your stomach, rancid and heavy. How arrogant you had been, to think that you could thoroughly understand a being that had lived longer than recorded history, longer than human civilization in some worlds — could you even grasp the very notion of living six thousand years, of spending four thousand fighting a war? The countless bygone friends and foes he must have had to cut down?
How foolish of you to think that you could have outweighed any of them.
“What will it take to keep Aether safe?” You said, dropping your smile. If Zhongli would not budge when faced with the lingering remnants of your friendship, then you would speak to him the only way you knew how to get through to him; with a contract. “I’ll willingly accept any punishment, without a fight, as long as you promise to let him and Paimon go safely afterwards.”
Would Zhongli really… kill you? Even knowing all that you knew of his brutality during the war, it was hard to wrap your head around. You couldn’t breathe.
“Any…?” Zhongli’s huff created a small cloud of condensation in the night air. “It seems I have not taught you enough about the art of negotiation during our journey together. An open contract is a very dangerous thing to place in the hands of your adversaries.“
“I don’t care,” you snapped. Any other time, and you would have loved to hear him lecture, but...“Just tell me you won’t hurt them.”
Zhongli closed his eyes once more, as he always did when presented with a contractual proposal to ponder. Finally, when he had been still so long you’d thought he might have fallen asleep, he crossed his arms. “Very well. I accept the terms of your contract.”
At least, no matter what happened to you, Aether and Paimon would be safe.
“Come, y/n,” Zhongli beckoned with two gloved fingers, “let us continue somewhere more private.” He turned around and began walking, as though he had not a doubt that you would follow him. Well, with the terms that he had over your head, did you really have a choice?
You had been to Wangshu Inn so many times — to complete commissions, to grab a quick lunch, to bring Almond Tofu for Xiao — that you knew the land around it like the back of your hand. It would be so easy to escape on your own; you’d make it to Mondstadt within the night. Determined as Zhongli was, the idea of a diplomatic fallout with Liyue’s neighboring nation would at least make him take pause in his pursuit of you. Right?
Freedom was within your grasp. Behind you, the crickets chirped their hymns into a star-flecked sky.
You owe me big time, dear brother , you thought bitterly to yourself as you followed Zhongli back into his room.

Xiao X Mc/reader who is afraid of thunders/lightings. also fluff
Hello~ here's a small note: I wrote Xiao as a mix of his eng voice lines and Chinese voice lines, since they make him sound completely different.
Aka his eng makes him sound like he is edgy, aggressive and tsundere as hell, but his original voice lines and voice acting, The chinese, make him sound like a lonely, calm person.
here we go then:
-You and Xiao had quite the weird relationship, for all that matters you didn't think he thought of you as a friend, but you weren’t strangers either. sometimes, more often than not, when you went to the upper balcony he wouldn’t vanish in thin air.
- That had to mean something right? RIGHT?
- those were the thoughts passing through your mind as you stood in the upper balcony at night, looking at no particular point of liyue.
-you let out a heavy sigh and as you turned around to return to your room- you found yourself in front of Xiao.
- You took the scare of your life. though this happens almost every time he would just appear near you when you thought to be alone.
-HOW COME SOMEONE COULD BE SO SILENT !?
- Xiao just made his way over to the balcony and stood there looking over at liyue. Now that you calmed down a bit and started looking at the Yaksha, you noticed his hair was a bit messier than usual if that is even possible, and that there was some blood in his clothes.
-You wanted to ask what happened, but it was probably a bit too obvious, so you just returned to your place at the balcony, this time, with Xiao beside you.
- “You were returning to your room” Xiao said after a while of silence.
- “ Well, I decided to stay a while longer, I haven’t seen you in almost a week, and I'm sure if I go to sleep now I won’t see you again for a couple days” you stated with a hand making vague gestures in the air. You heard a small “humph” from him and both of you went silent again.
-Moments like these were becoming more and more frequent recently, and even when neither the two of you would say something, you thought it was quite enjoyable….out of curiosity you took a glance at him, and holy archon, the man was beautiful. ahhh..those fierce eyes looked so calming to you…and you could swear there was a very small hint of a smile on his face, though it was most definitely your imagination working up, you wouldn’t mind staying like that for a couple hours….
-And of course
-As if to ruin the moment.
-It began raining ….
-It was just a bit of rain and it didn’t bother you, and Xiao clearly didn’t care about it. So you just began playing with the drops who fell in the balcony support. And then you heard it. A ferocious thunder in the distance. You gave a little jump and froze on the spot.
-You probably just heard it wrong right? hah, why now? you weren’t eve- “I have seen many mortals who fear lightning… Incomprehensible, fear of something so com-” Xiao had not the time to finish his phrase before he felt something, or rather, someone, grabbing his sleeve and letting go not one second after.
- He was a bit startled since you had never dared to do this sort of thing. However when he looked at you to say something about it, your face was more white than the almond tofu he had this morning, and the words he wanted to say instantly died on his throat.
“Xia-”*thunder* you wanted to apologize, but you were yet again interrupted by that ominous sound and froze on spot, Your knuckles already white from the force you were exercising on the balcony support.” I …I think I’ll go back inside now haha…” you faked a small laugh and hurried inside without paying further attention to Xiao.
-Xiao just stood there looking in the direction you left to with his usual stoic face, but I assure you he was just ????????????????????? as possible on the inside.
………
-It has been a while since you wrapped yourself in blankets and covered your ears to minimize the sound of the thunders, your eyes were shut and you sometimes mumbled some words to yourself. And so, when Xiao approached your door and knocked you didn’t hear him.
-Well Xiao didn't know why he hadn’t left yet, but he also wasn’t going to come into your room without your permission, so he just stood there. He was going to knock again when he heard you give a shriek.
And at that moment one hundred thoughts crossed Xiao’s mind, and 99 of them included you being in danger, So in a split second Xiao’s spear was in his hand and your door was no more.” Y/N!?” Xiao called while rapidly scanning the room with his eyes.
You did hear a loud bang, but with your hands covering your ears, every sound sounded muffed, so you thought it to be another thunder. With your eyes still closed all you could do was pull your legs even closer to your chest. Now seeing you physically unharmed was like a pain killer to Xiao, his racing mind finally calmed down and he let out a sigh of relief. He didn’t sense any sort of demon in the room so that was obviously not the case. The only thing left was finding out what was happening to you, yes he thought you were a bit weird, but this was not like you. And honestly speaking Xiao preferred to fight some demon, not because he didn’t want to interact with you, but rather because he was aware of how bad he was when dealing with human emotions.
With his spear no longer in sight he approached your bed, “y/n” he called in a plain voice, however, since you showed no signs of opening your eyes anytime soon, he reached your shoulder and lightly touched it “y/n.”- As soon as you felt someone touching you your first reaction was to reach for your sword that was beside the bed, Xiao had expected this much to happen, but he didn’t move a single muscle, and of course as soon as you saw it was Xiao, you just dropped the sword without a second thought and quickly began apologizing” Xiao I-I’m so sorry I didn’t mean to- I didn't hear you coming in….” you turned your face to the other side since you could feel your eyes wet and didn’t want Xiao to see you like this.
Xiao on the other side noticed you were avoiding his eyes right away because somehow you had developed the annoying tendency to always look in his eyes whenever you were speaking with him, well, he says annoying, but if you’d stop doing it out of the blue, he would feel weird and a bit bothered since he had grown comfortable with you doing it.
Xiao narrowed his eyes a bit, he wanted to know what could have possibly caused this sort of behavior from you and moved so he could see your face. You had stopped covering your ears ever since Xiao had touched your shoulder, so when he yet again attempted to call your name and a thunder soared in the background, you gave another shriek and froze for a split second, seeing this, Xiao got more worried again. Could it perhaps be that you were afraid of him???? But you had never feared him once, despite his attempts to shoo you away at first. So why would you fear him now??? Yes, his clothes had “a bit” more blood than usual but that would hardly make you fear him, right???
“Aha… I’m sorry Xiao, I left so abruptly” you began explaining, interrupting his train of thoughts. You were still with your legs close to your chest, but now you were playing with your own hands, still not looking directly at Xiao. “As you can see I'm fine, so there is no need for you to be here, I don’t want to be-”
“I’m not leaving until this situation is explained. Now talk.” Xiao had crossed his arms again. Aha…he really doesn’t know how to sugarcoat his words even when he’s worried, does he? But in your eyes, this was a very cute trait he had.
“It’s really a trivial matter, I don’t want to bother you” you had a small forced smile while looking at your own hands.
Xiao crossed his arms “I thought I told you to speak my name whenever you were in trouble” Well, that was not entirely the truth, he told you to speak his name whenever death came to you, or monsters, or knives at your throat, so obviously fear of thunders was not on the list, but of course you wouldn’t say this out loud. ”I’m not leaving until you explain. Talk” His voice sounded a bit aggressive and intimidating, but there was more than a hint of worry in it, so you gave up. You looked at him with a bit of reluctancy and sat more properly in your bed. Then you gestured to a chair that was by your bedside. Xiao sat and waited for you to start explaining.
You took some time to start speaking, and Xiao could only prepare himself for what you were going to say, as the vigilant Yaksha, the conqueror of demons there would hardly be a problem he wouldn't be able to solve for you. And when you finally opened your mouth, he couldn’t help but focus his eyes on you. “I….” You began ”I’m afraid of thunders….” once again you shifted your gaze to somewhere else. Xiao had lived thousands of years, dealt with countless problems and witnessed millions of troubled mortals begging for adepti help but this was something he had never expected.
He didn't know what to say, obviously thunders were insignificant to him, much less something to be afraid of. But you were afraid of them, what possibly could he say?????? Xiao was now in an internal conflict, of course on the outside he still had that poker face of his, eyes a bit widened with surprise while still glaring at you. If it were in another situation you would have probably thought something along the lines of “how can a thousand years adepti have such a cute and Innocent face….” but this was not the time nor the place.
“I bet you didn't expect that…” you smiled sadly as you hugged your legs. Xiao wanted to help, he really did, but how??? He had never dealt with this. He had started to think maybe you would be better without him there and should have left you alone, you had dealt with this situation a lot of times and you probably knew how to deal with it.
He really was about to get up when another thunder soared, a fierce one at that, and you unconsciously grabbed his sleeve. “Don’t leave…!”The words left your mouth before you could stop them. The ferocious Yaksha froze, you were looking at him, your eyes wetter than before and an expression of fear and despair on your face. This was happening way too many times recently, an adeptus like him shouldn’t be so easily surprised, and by a human no less. The thought of leaving left his mind immediately, and if he had slightly left the chair, Xiao sited again right away. He really couldn’t leave now.
Once you realized you had grabbed his sleeve again you slowly released it hoping he didn't realize you had grabbed onto it in the first place, was this becoming a habit????? it already happened twice!. On the other hand, Xiao obviously noticed, and that was one of the reasons a weird and warm sensation began growing in his chest.
“..Xiao I-”
As you were about to speak when Xiao cut you “Go sleep, I’ll be here”, he said with his eyes closed and a solemn expression. Well, Xiao had no experience dealing with this kind of situation nor he knew what to do, but if you said for him not to leave, he wouldn’t.
You were about to say he didn’t need to, and that he probably had other things to do, but three consecutive thunders were heard as if to say “shut up and thank him!!” So you just noded and covered yourself with blankets.
Now that Xiao was aware of the source of your unwellbeing, every time there was a thunder he would shoot a deadly look at the window with the corner of his eyes as if he could actually make them stop. After one final glance at your figure, he turned his head to the window, just calmly gazing at the rain, still, there was this protective aura you could feel from him.
Even looking at the window, Xiao could feel you flinch every time he heard a thunder, however after a while, you stopped, maybe you fell asleep. Even if that was the case he still stood there for a good half an hour. He probably wouldn’t admit it, but he was enjoying the ambiance.
When he looked at you as if to check everything was alright, it finally hit him “What am I still doing here?”. Without further thought, he stood up and was about to leave your bedside when he felt something slightly tugging onto him. When he looked over…. yes, you guessed it. You were peacefully grabbing the end of his sleeve.
You see, earlier when Xiao was looking at the window and you were trying to ignore the thunders and sleep, you sometimes stole a look at him, and in one of those times, you noticed part of his sleeve was on your bed, and reaaaally close to your hand at that. You looked at it for some seconds, and lightly touched it, then quickly looked at xiao, and since he didn't seem to notice, you slightly shifted your body closer to him and rested your hand on his sleeve. When you moved your head closer to your hand and his sleeve, you felt his scent filling you. You had never noticed since you never had got close enough to feel it, but he smelled like sandalwood and rain. After this, you stopped hearing the thunders and slowly fell asleep.
With anyone else, Xiao would have just pushed his sleeve and keep on his way, but it was y/n, a sleeping and fragile y/n. Xiao never thought of you as fragile, but recently he was always wary of his own strength when he was near you. And somehow, this situation had ignited that weird feeling on his chest again.
Xiao crouched down a bit and gently tried to pull his sleeve, he didn't want to risk waking you up, so as gently as a Yaksha could he grabbed your hand to move it to the side, and for some reason, even if adepti don’t feel hotness or cold, he was sure his face felt hotter than it should, how many years had it been since the last time he willingly had physical contact with someone? Back to the matter at hand, while Xiao was trying to put your hand away so he could remove his sleeve, somehow you had managed to grab his wrist instead, and when Xiao had finally freed his sleeve, it was now his arm that your hand was tugging into. He tried to move it out of there but you just pulled his wrist against you.
Now Xiao really needed to pull his arm out, he didn’t want to touch any part of your body without your consent. However when he slightly tried to move his arm out, you tugged him closer, fortunately, you pulled upwards, in the direction of your face. And even tho he let out a sigh of relief his face got more red than before once he felt your soft breath on the back of his fingers, his piercing eyes were wide as a scared cat, If you were to pull him an inch closer your lips would touch his fingers, so Xiao didn’t dare to move again.
————————
As the morning light began touching your eyelids, you slowly began waking up, shifting your body to the other side of the bed so the light wouldn’t hit your eyes, and stretching your body in a lazy way, after that you yawned and finally opened your eyes, still adjusting to the light you rubbed them a few times and slowly sat on your bed,” Good morning Xiao*Yawn*…!!!*cough cough* XIAO!?” only then did you notice there was a figure standing by your bedside, staring at you.”I- wh-what are you doing here??”
Xiao himself had only scaped from you some minutes ago, when you began waking up. He had just finished rubbing his still warm arm when you noticed him ”You are awake” he said in his usual tone. You slowly began getting up but before your foot touched the ground you began recalling what happened last night. “Oh dear Archon, how could have I said such things?? To Xiao nonetheless? ‘Don’t leave’??how come I said that!? Did Xiao really spend his night here??” You thought while trying to compose your messy clothes, failing a couple times before getting it right.
Amidst your thoughts, you head Xiao’s steps, and quickly turned to him in a weird way “ Ah-!Xiao, you shouldn’t have- hm? Xiao? what’s wrong with your face?” You slightly turned your head a bit to the side to see better a slight red shade in his face “Did he get bruised while fighting?” you thought.
However Xiao’s eyes narrowed a bit and he quickly turned to the door, his steps heavy, “Humph, we’re wasting time. Let’s go” and kept on walking his way. You were a bit surprised but quickly began walking fast to catch up with him, and even tho he wouldn’t turn his head to you no matter what, you could notice the tips of his ears a bit red. But you didn’t pry further on the matter.
The End
bonus
While both of you were walking down the stairs, Verr saw you two coming out of the same room, and when you looked at her you could only see her with a hand covering her mouth and her widen eyes silently following you two.

Yandere Bruno squad headcanons perhaps :0?
Yandere Team Buccelati
Content Warnings: Yandere behaviour, stalking, abduction
A/N: Apologies, but I've decided that I'm not really comfortable writing under 18s as yandere characters, so I'll just be doing Buccialati, Abbacchio and Mista for this one. Extra warning that this is really bad (I'm particularly not happy with Mista's section) because I wrote this late at night and didn't know what I was saying as I wrote it, so double apologies for that.
Bruno Buccelati
In spite of his occupation, Bruno has no qualms befriending the civilian population of Naples and doing good for them. He holds a profound pity for the victims of organised crime, and is eager to help where he can. So when you approach him on the street, asking for help with ridding yourself of a creepy stranger who had made it his business to follow and harass you, Bruno is quick to ensure your would-be stalker never looks your way again.
Although Bruno saw to it that you were escorted home safely, he can't help but feel some well-intentioned worry for your well-being over the coming days. He checks in on you again, which you find to be very sweet, but as the days pass by again his worry returns. Continuing to visit you would seem odd, he knows, but surely there's no harm in asking Narancia to check through your window once in a while?
At first it really is just concern for your safety, but after a while, Bruno is forced to accept that he is genuinely infatuated with you. His feelings are far too strong to simply sweep under the rug, and approaching you the normal way could put you in danger, provided it even works. He isn't going to kidnap you, that would leave him no better than the thugs he chases off of the streets, but to make you his he's going to resort to something unorthodox.
Bruno makes a few preparations. He does a few favours for your friends and family- gotta make sure they're on his side, He also checks his intel into the area's rival street gangs, since it can't hurt to have a hint of truth to the story he's going to tell. Then, armed with a few empty suitcases and a fake look of concern, he heads to your house late one night.
He announces to you that one of the rival gangs in the area has singled you out as a target for trafficking, and because of your previous interactions with him, they're dead set on taking you. Bruno assures you not to worry and helps you pack away your things, promising that you will be safe in his care while the issue with the gang is sorted out. You'll be staying in his house, of course. It's best he's right on call in case anyone tries to come after you.
Your new life in Bruno's house is a strange one. You cannot leave the house of course, except for the occasional short trip with him or his men to stop your mental health from suffering, but your internet access is unrestricted, you can call your family as much as you want, and you're allowed to buy anything you'd like with your money (or better, have him buy it for you). You have your own room, but Bruno often asks to come in and sit with you late at night. It's all for your comfort, of course.
After a couple of months, Bruno's excuses to keep you longer will start to run out as you start to wonder why he hasn't eliminated the street gang yet. The hope is that by this point, you would have already fallen for Bruno's charm and started to love him, but barring this, he'll simply buy more time by making up more reasons why it's unsafe for you to go home.
But, if all else fails, and you begin to insist on leaving... well, Bruno didn't want to do this, but he can't just let you go. You're locked in your room, windows barred as Bruno explains to you calmly that this is all for your own good. You can come out any time you want, Amore. All you have to do is promise to stay.
Leone Abbacchio
Despite his occasionally cold demeanour, Abbacchio is no stranger to the want for companionship and affection. In fact, it's fair to say he needs it, and that going so long without tenderness has left him empty, miserable and disillusioned. But it's only a matter of time before somebody reawakens his need for warmth.
Both of you were having a bad day. You were downtrodden and lamentful, and as sad people tend to do together, you shared your angsts together as you sat at the bus stop, neither of you caring that this was the first time you'd even seen each other.
Abbacchio does not want the conversation to end. So when the bus arrives, he gets a ticket to your stop instead, and sits with you, continuing to talk. He is sad when you say goodbye. He knows he needs to see you again. He thinks nothing of lingering to see which street you turn onto as you walk home.
Abbacchio gets to work right away. He needs to have you, but cannot see you ever falling for someone like him. Not through normal means instead. His thoughts turn to abduction, but the image of you begging and crying as he drags you to his car saddens him. He knows he could never hurt you that badly. He needs to find a half-way point, between force and natural love.
The first thing he does, once his mind is made up, is go to your boss. Using Passione's name, he quickly convinces them to fire you without any question as to why. It is a similar story with your landlord a few days later. Any friends or relatives who might take you in are also sent a warning phone-call.
You know full-well what has happened. You knew at the time your one-time companion on the bus was a mafioso, his story made that clear. You beat yourself up every minute for not avoiding him then and there. And now, as misfortune after misfortune strikes you, everyone who bears you bad news has the same white-haired stranger to speak of. When, on your first night on the streets, a tall figure approaches you from the black car, you do not feel any surprise.
Both you and Abbacchio know what he is here for, so he does not explain much. He sombrely instructs you to get in the car if you don't want to be stuck on the streets any longer, promising that he will not do you any harm if you comply. He has already struck out every other option for possibly helping yourself. You have little choice but to go with him.
You do not expect much when you arrive at Abbacchio's house, but instead you find all your old possessions lined up for you to decorate your room with. After quickly explaining where the bathroom is and which foods from the kitchen are free for taking, he goes to bed, advising that you do the same. You are completely, and utterly perplexed.
Abbacchio forces little conversation on you in the early weeks. Most of the time, he is out doing work, leaving you with free reign of his house. Soon, you do not feel at all as though you were forced to be here. You dare say your life is better here than it was before. Abbacchio's friends occasionally visit, making sure that Leone isn't mistreating you and you're fully happy here. Eventually, Abbacchio relents to letting you reopen communications with your friends. You cannot say you have anything to complain about.
The only question, is what Abbacchio ever wanted from you. It's so strange how he went to all these lengths to take you only to largely ignore you. The truth is, he's waiting for you to open up to him of your own free will. As he lies in bed alone at night, he dreams of you coming into his room, asking if he can hold you for a minute.
Mista
Guido Mista has dated a few times in the past, and he isn't interested in letting Passione stop him from continuing. It doesn't matter how you met him, just that after a few encounters you began to date, and were very happy with your new beau. You worked well together, what else is there to say?
But after your second date, Buccialati received word of your existence and was concerned. He isn't exactly going to force you to stop dating, Mista is an adult after all and can do as he pleases. But Buccelati wants to make sure you know what you're getting into.
Paying you a visit, Buccelati explains to you that your new boyfriend is involved with the mafia, and continuing to see him will involve certain risks. He is happy for you to take these risks, so long as you are aware of their existence. You thank him for him time, and immediately proceed to shut off all communication with Mista without explanation.
After a brief shouting match with Buccelati once Mista realises what he's done, he marches over to your house to plead with you to take him back. You stand your ground, that Mista lied to you and you refuse to be involved with criminals, but Mista isn't giving up.
The argument escalates. You slam the door in his face. Mista goes home and despairs. You were the best he's ever had, and now he's supposed to accept that you're just... gone?! No... all you need is a little more time. Mista turns right around and heads back to your house. This time, he isn't letting up for anything.
It goes much further than he intended. In a split-moment of instinct, Mista draws his gun and threatens you into letting him in. He really didn't mean to scare you like that, but his emotions are running high right now and he doesn't know how else to make you listen.
So, here you are now, a hostage in your own home, because your barely boyfriend couldn't let you go. In the ultimatum the two of you made after he threatened you, you ended up agreeing not to leave the house at all for the time since he was scared you'd try to run.
Mista doesn't stay with you all the time, but he visits you daily to bring you things and try to repair the relationship. To his credit, he hasn't threatened you at all since the initial incident and seems to regret it intently, but forgiving him is difficult after what he did.
Your commitments are mysteriously all taken care of, your boss inexplicably granting you a long period of furlough at full pay. Buccelati wasn't kidding when he said the group Mista was part of was powerful. You shudder to think of what else he could do.

What Their Weddings Will be Like
Female Reader x
For: Frankie Morales, Din Djarin, Marcus Moreno, Pero Tovar, Agent Whiskey, Dave York, and Marcus Pike.
Frankie
This was the day that Frankie had been thinking about since your third date. Not in a weird over-possessive way, but you fit so easily into his life that he couldn’t not imagine you in his future from that day on. When the day finally came, he couldn’t stop his usually steady hands from shaking as he tried and tried again to tie his bow-tie, eventually giving up and letting his mum do it. It was a cosy wedding, lots of close friends and family their to celebrate. You both decide to have it in early summer so it can be outside, a fully outdoor ceremony with lots of flowers and a tent full of fairy lights to dance under the stars at night. Frankie never left your side from the moment you stood next to him at the altar and he didn’t stop crying either. The tears first came when you walked down the aisle towards him, then when you said your vows and I do. They started again when you were first announced as Mr and Mrs and started to prick at the corner of his eyes as when he watched you laugh with your mum and his mum as you told them about a disaster with the flowers. He tried his hardest to fight them away during his speech but let them flow again during your first dance. He carries you over the threshold and into bed that night, kissing every inch of your body as you both lie there exhausted but more happy than you thought possible at the end of the day. He made sure his eyes were on you every moment throughout the day, taking in every expression you made to make sure he would remember this day for the rest of his life.
Din
Din will be prepared to give you whatever you want to celebrate but what is important to him are those three simple sentences: Mhi solus tome, mhi solus dar’tome, mhi me’dinui an, mhi ba’juri verde (we are one whether we are together or apart, we will share everything, we will raise our children as warriors). When you tell him that you don’t care for the usual wedding traditions of your people and are happy with the simple Mandalorian ceremony he is happy and will fly straight to the Armorer, never letting go of your hand the whole way there. He can’t stop the tears from flowing behind his helmet as you repeat the lines back to him, his hands shaking as he tilts his head down for a Keldabe kiss. When you move back to private quarters, he feels sick with nerves when he reaches up to remove his helmet in front of you for the first time. He isn’t sure what he expects when your eyes meet without filter for the first time but it isn’t the pure love and adoration that is there. He gives in to his emotions, letting his body fall to his knees before you as tears fill his eyes again. When you fail to lift him up you join him on the ground, holding his face in your hands and kissing all over it as he holds your waist in his hands, repeating how much he loves you in the most gentle whisper you have ever heard.
Marcus M
Marcus wasn’t 100% sure whether he would marry again but after you met Missy for the first time he knew he would. He knew from the moment he met you that you would be in his life for the rest of his days but when he seen how quickly you and Missy connected he knew that he would love to call you his wife one day. He proposed in a very low-key but romantic way and had already started asking questions about what kind of wedding you wanted the next day. You decide on a simple wedding with close family and friends. He cried from the moment you walked into the room, not able to understand how lucky he got to be calling you his wife in about half an hour, tears getting heavier as he recited his vows, even heavier when you said yours and he couldn’t see the room any more when you turned to say some special "vows” to Missy. And his vows... oh my god. This man just has the most perfect way with words and is able to tell you exactly how he feels every time he sees you and thinks about your future together. As soon as you both got a chance to sit and eat, he made sure to get your first dance going quickly before you can get interrupted again, keeping you on the dance floor and in his arms for a lot longer than just one dance. He held you close to his body, his head resting on top of yours that was pressed to his chest, and whispered more private promises to you that he didn’t want to say in front of everyone at the ceremony while thanking you for loving him as well as you do. He also has the perfect honeymoon planned for you both and it is split into two parts: the first week spent on your dream vacation as he plans dinners and walks but a lot of time spent in bed, the second week Missy joins you both on a fun filled week of rollercoasters and water parks to celebrate the adoption papers that means you are officially her adopted mum.
Pero
To be honest, you weren’t sure whether Pero was the type who would ever want to marry. He was pretty unorthodox, not caring what others thought about him and in turn you became less worried about what people thought about you. Pero was still selling his sword but when he was home you stayed in your beautiful but simple cottage just outside of the village. On days he left you would keep on your brave face as he kissed you goodbye but would spent the rest of the day hugging the jumpers that still smelled of him close to your chest. The tears were worth it on days he came home from his travels when you would be running into his arms before his feet had even landed on the ground coming down from the horse. This time was different and you weren’t sure why as he stopped you before you crashed into his body. He spoke more words in this moment that he ever had before, rambling about how he missed you, all of you, every moment he was gone and he didn’t want to leave you every and he especially did not want to leave you without some protection. The next morning you and Pero went to the local church for a simple ceremony between you both. Had anyone seen Pero they would have thought he was unhappy as he repeated the vows with his scowl still on his face but his eyes were a dead giveaway that he was only just holding back tears.
Whiskey
Another one who is a bit unconventional and not ashamed of it. The minute Jack has the ring on your finger he is telling you how excited he is to have you as his wife and how he doesn’t want to wait another day to call you that. You decide whats better than one wedding but two and so decide to run off to Vegas in the jet that Jack definitely checked out for the day. Not long later you were running out hand in hand as husband and wife, Jack whisking you into his arms at the bottom of the steps and taking you to the fanciest hotel to have the most extravagant dinner. The second wedding has your friends and family, a bit more formal with Jack in a tux and you in a wedding dress as you say your vows for the second time. He takes the opportunity to enjoy walking around with you by his side as husband and wife in front of everyone you’re close with.
Dave
A traditional wedding will be on the cards for Dave. He quietly goes with you to every step of the planning process - trying the cakes, looking at flowers, scoping out venues. He doesn’t seem too excited but walks around the venue with you hand and hand as he listens to you talking about how the tables could be set out. The reason he is so quiet is because he feels... guilty. He doesn’t know how he got so lucky to have you in his life let along get to watch you walk towards him down the aisle in a few months time. He is excited and it’s already to spill over in the form of tears on the big day, he is just too scared to get excited until the vows and I do has been said.
Marcus P
Like this wont be the most romantic day you can imagine. Make sure you have waterproof mascara for this because he will be have you crying with happiness from the get-go. Just as you are getting ready a small box and note will arrive with a necklace and love letter attached. He will tell you how lucky he is to have found you and how he is even luckier to get to call you his wife in a few short hours. Don’t worry because he will tell you all this again later in front of your friends and family as he holds your hands and doesn’t look anywhere but your eyes. Prepare for Marcus to sneak you away when everyone is busy with the music and dance floor for a moment of peace and quiet as husband and wife. You are just about to say you are surprised he has held it together all day, only one tear managing to spill over as he said his vows, but as your mouth opens the tears begin to fall as he pulls you into his chest and slow dances below the stars to the quiet music coming from inside, only managing to whisper how much he loves you into your hair before he can’t form any more words.

kissing vow ~ eren x reader
Dawn quickly rose over the well-known territory. The part of land that was whispered upon for years ever since its fall, and a place strangely familiar to all your ears and hearts even if you hadn’t traveled there yourself. After the trip into the midnight wilderness you had arrived for a mission far greater than any other, and it was clear there were no visible signs of doubt from anyone.
Except for of course, the young boy with more pressure on his chest than anyone, one you cared for very dearly who’d call almost every shot with his actions. He was frightened beyond compare, so as the last few squads stood atop Wall Maria, urgently waiting for any signal, Eren was practically pissing himself right then and there. He had returned, devised a plan with all the leading commanders in just a few days, and was now preparing to risk his life for his homeland and people. There was no moment of rest for him or any of you. Besides the constant worry of succeeding the mission this very well may be the last time any of you see each other again.
You shout out his last name, once, twice, as he was too far in his own head to hear your first call and jog to him, gripping your delicate fingers over his shoulders. In the years you’ve spent together as scouts those small releases of tension-touching had become a clear sign you wanted each other’s attention, and you both caught onto the gesture quite quickly. Eren softened his eyes in your presence to notion just how focused he was on you. His subconscious would always allow his gaze to wander to you and what you had to say, he felt calmer that way.
“I already see you getting all inside your head, I thought talking about this on the journey here would be enough for you?” you whisper, leaning your head a little closer in attempt to understand what possibly was rumbling through his mind now.
“What if we lose”
“What?”
“I can’t bear to see us all lose! If we waited a little longer, a few more days, maybe we could have advised a plan that wouldn’t risk half the corps’ lives!” He tangled his hand in his hair, gripping the shaggy strands already coming loose from the stress he overdrove himself into. Your hands soften against the thick cloth of his cape, frowning at the few tears pricking his eyelids.
“Er, you’re more than welcome to cry to me later, just not now.” you chuckle.
“How are you so sure there’ll be a later y/n.”
You mouth opens before you can process your words, watching his cheek crane over to rest on the back of your hand that still lay against his collar. Here was humanity’s savior more worried than everyone minutes before call, but that you were perfectly fine with. This side to him was all the more proof that he was human, no matter what people labeled his being as.
“How am I sure? Bold of you to question my predictions Jaeger.” you exaggerate, placing your hands on your hips in a sneer. “I’m certain i’ll come back alive, and why? Because your protecting me with ever passionate fiber in your body, just as you will everyone else. You’re fighting for our justice against these monsters, the ones with no mind or cause. You have a cause to fight Eren and you have a heart too, a damn big one if I do say so myself. It’s the reason we support you with in the entireties of our own.”
With that, you intertwine your fingers around his right thumb, softly calloused to the touch he notes time and time again, and place it in front of your mouth to kiss. His body tenses at the feeling, but his eyes widen when he realizes where exactly you’ve placed it, your trust in him, where you’ve unknowingly hinted your years of growing affection for the boy in the heap of a split second.
Over the bitten scars littered down his radial.
He looks at you in confirmation of what he thinks it meant, and smiles into those fierce doe eyes of yours. A genuine emotion he hasn’t felt in months through grieving and loss, but could so easily melt into again with you.
So yes, he held a dangerous power, but it was all his. Something his true self was a part of that no one should ever neglect, and he found all the support he needed within the soldier right before him.
“Knock em dead Ren, do your best for everyone who’s lived and who will continue to. None of us would be standing here without you, so your presence alone is precious to us...
...We all believe in you, I believe in you.”
You guide his palm to your cheek, nuzzling into its claminess. As he engraves the plush feeling of his fingertips to your skin, a green smoke signal is fired.
And even when Eren was positive not everyone could be saved, he was reminded the ones following the biggest goals in the end would persevere and care for each other just as you had for him. He was confident you’d all succeed that way.
Like Armin now does over Commander Erwin,
Or little Gabi rather than Sasha, no matter what unjust brainwashing she believes.
But him or you, who would risk their own life caring for whom they loved most?
That was one thing he never wanted to find out.
Now he slouches in a rotten, stoned cell, contemplating what could’ve changed if only he had tried a little harder, or had this all been fate from the start?
His hand resting in his lap catches his glance, peering down at the bite marks still evident across his thumb. Surely if the marks he made as a teen persisted your kiss would too.
He slowly brings his hand up, cautious of any guards mistaking the move for another transformation, and presses his lips against the same spot you had. He closes his eyes at the warmth, sensing it was still emitting from your own lingering touch years ago. Unfortunately there had been no more little kisses, subtle clues of affection from either of you ever since. He liked those hints he really did, but now he was sure you stood a few floors above him, devising a plan to put an end to his scheme rather than caring over his emotions.
Weren’t you the one who told him to keep going though?
Perhaps if he had told you his motives beforehand rather than keeping them inside. How he appreciated every act of tenderness you gave him, more than anything he’s experienced before, how all this time he’s fought on this battlefield people called the world, for you and everyone else. Maybe then you’d stay out of his way and let him succeed, but his actions had no time for feelings or explanations. The freedom he desperately searched for in the future held no care for the past.
Yet he could never lie to himself and think you didn’t love him still, even after all this time. And Eren couldn’t deny anything about his own feelings for you, it’s what kept him going.

It's Pico timeeeeeeee!!!!!!! I always wanted to do some Yan!Pico for this blog, so here we go! I hope you all enjoy!!
Request status : open!
( :̲̅:̲̅:̲̅[̲̅:♡:]̲̅:̲̅:̲̅:̲̅)
Your tortured ears could still hear him calling out your name, even with how far away you were from him. A small part of you knew that you shouldn't have even tried running away, that your efforts were in vein, and you were only tarnishing the trust of the man who could take and give your basic rights at will. But, the other part of you just couldn't ignore that unlocked door you felt he left for you by "mistake".
Pico tried telling you that you were miles from any sign of human society, and that was only if you happened to start running in the right direction after leaving your own personal prison. You forced yourself to think he was just bluffing, just filling you up with lies to discourage any possible escape attempts.
However, no matter your circumstances, no matter where you were or what you were going to do from here on out, you just couldn't stay there anymore. You just couldn't. The feeling of betrayal, isolation, vulnerability, you just couldn't take any of it anymore. You had to get out, get away from him.
Perhaps, in some sick twisted way, Pico was right. Perhaps you trying to escape was in fact futile. Perhaps your future really was with him.
No.
No, you repeated in your head like a broken record, swearing yourself to hell for even considering taking his side for more than a millisecond. He was a monster, and monsters never have good intentions. You already decided that he didn't really love you, even though he told you he did millions of times a day as he looked down at you like you were the most precious thing he had ever laid his eyes on. He had to just be playing with you, like some sick predator toying around with it's prey before he made the final killing blow. The game Pico was playing with you was sick, and you didn't want any part in it any longer.
You could feel that he was getting closer. You could hear the quickness and heaviness of his breath and the way he called out your name oh so desperately. Like you were being carried away by some third party and hauled away to a slaughterhouse. In all honesty, you'd much rather be in a place like that than be subjected further to Pico's sickeningly sweet affectionate gestures.
Suddenly, in a split second, as Pico sprinted quicker than he was before, he held out his arm in a motion you could not see. There was a loud popping noise, sounding similarly to that of a firework, and then you stumbled to the ground. Pico followed quickly behind, of course. He rushed to your side and crouched down to your level as the pain just started settling in. You looked over at where the pain seemed to be coming from, and your teary eyes widened as you saw the disturbing sight of red oozing from a hole in your ankle. Pico swore under his breath, quickly picking you up and throwing your body over his shoulders. Instinctively, knowing Pico was far more than just a simple threat to you, you banged on his back with your fists and thrashed and kicked with the only leg you could move (even though the pulsating pain in your ankle made such movements simply agonizing).
He shot you. That mother fucker shot you.
"Fuck, (Y/N)..." Pico sighed, his voice sounding more strained than it usually did. "Why can't you just fucking listen to me?!" Pico said, taking all the punches and kicks better than you expected him to. He was keeping a snake-level grip on you, which was impressive considering the circumstances.
Quiet sobs left your throat as Pico rubbed your back and gently shushed you. Your body seemed to fall limp, as you lost all will to fight him any more. It was over. You had your chance to escape, and you used it stupidly forgetting Pico carried an uzi around him all the time like a mother to a newborn. None of this was your fault of course, but you couldn't help but imagine how else this could've gone down with a little better planning and preparation. The thoughts only increased the sound of your sobs, which only made Pico's stress worse at the moment.
You could barely hear him mumble an apology to you, citing that everything was just to test if you really were loyal to him like you promised, and although he was saddened by the result he would still continue to love you unconditionally. It was the last thing you heard, before the pain in your ankle and the constant trauma your brain was desperate to have a break from lulled you off to a strangely comforting sleep.
You woke up with a slight ringing in your ears, though that quickly faded in favor of hearing pacing footsteps across the echoey basement floor. You internally sighed, as you had just gotten the privilege of upstairs access. Granted, being allowed upstairs should be considered a damn near basic human right, but you were in Pico's world now rather than your own. And in Pico's world, anything is justifiable if you lace your atrocities with half-assed "I love you"'s and "I'm sorry"'s.
Pico glanced over to you as he heard you groan, the chain that he apparently put on your leg making a slight jangling sound as you tried to stretch. He walked over to you and sat down on the floor, his face just about a foot away from yours.
"You know why you're here, right?" It was a simple question, and Pico would be satisfied with a weak nod or so, but you couldn't help but express your distaste for the situation, so only a muffled "go fuck yourself" seemed appropriate. Pico only hummed, brushing hair out of your face and arching an eyebrow at your pained, but still determined expression. "You're here because you won't listen. I didn't ask anything of you. All I wanted to do was keep you safe. There's a lot of people out there who wanna hurt you, you know? There's a lot of people who wanna hurt me. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I knew I didn't do anything to keep you safe."
Pico was never one to trail off and leave his sentences long, but he couldn't help himself. You deserved at least some kind of an explanation, especially after you're being faced with the man who just shot you. In his defence, it was only in the ankle and it was only to stop you from running, but still.
"P...Pico...ple-" Your hoarse voice was cut as Pico placed a single finger against your lips and shushed you oh-so gently, your only response being a tiny whimper.
"You don't say a word doll, just let me take care of everything from now on. I'm gonna keep you safe, I promise..." Pico smiled a bright smile, which was the absolute last thing you expected from someone like him. "I love you, (Y/N)."
You were too stunned to speak, and his smiling lips twitched. "(Y/N), I love you." You gave him a weak smile back, and closed your eyes.
"I love you too Pico, thank you, for everything..."
Your throat burned at the words being spoken, but you spoke them with hope. Hope that maybe someday, somehow, there'd be a sliver of light at the end of this tunnel, and you'll live to see another sunrise without Pico.
Sure, it was nothing more than grainy aspirations and shattered dreams, but it was enough to keep you going, and that was something you appreciated to your core.

No Matter Where You Go, I Will Find You. part 3
Hi everyone! We have made it to Part 3! Thank you for coming on this wonderful journey with me. I have at least 6 chapters already written and the story will be longer than that. I appreciate all of your love and reblogs and everything you say about it. Seriously, I love you all. Also, I am toying with the idea of a Bad Batch x reader story AU. Let me know if there is any want for that. Thanks!!!
As always:
This will eventually be a 18+ older fic and will deal with anxiety, death, sex, PTSD, murder, loss, found family, Order 66, and coming to terms. This is not just a fluff fic. It will very much be dealing with very dark and hard themes, so please, if that is something that can be too hard for you, don’t read.
Pairings: Rex x Reader x Cody (polyamory) I should say this is NOT a Rex x Cody fic. There will be ZERO Clonecest on this blog or story. Reader is a consensual relationship with Rex and with Cody. Yes they share, yes they will eventually have sex together, but Cody and Rex are NOT in a relationship nor will they be intimate.
Rating: 18+
TW: Death, Murder, infanticide, death of the Jedi, PTSD, Loss, Anxiety, eating disorders, sleep disorders, Order 66. I will add other things as I think about them
Part 3: Again
It had taken you longer to get to Hondo than you would have liked. But, of course he had to be by some out of the way planet, forgotten by most. You pride yourself on your extensive knowledge of the planetary systems, knowing obscure things that even had Master Yoda chuckling with delight. But this place? You had no idea where it was. It never showed up on any star chart and quite frankly you were fairly certain he gave you incorrect coordinates. But, still, you went there to meet him. You had to laugh to yourself when you saw his ship waiting for you, floating in the dead of space. Hondo was telling the truth.
"Kriffing pirates," you mumbled to no one, chuckling as you started preparing your ship to dock with his. No matter how many star charts you studied, how many space lanes you memorized, he would always know more obscure things than you.
As you finished the docking sequence and began to enter his ship, you mulled over what he would want to show you. Something he was either desperate to have or knew you would want immediately. Something he wouldn’t risk saying over a commed link, even if it was secure. Honestly if this was another wild goose chase he put you on for something he could find at any market stall on any of the core planets...well you wouldn’t do anything except grumble while you went and got it. You should hate the power Hondo had over you, but you didn’t. He never did anything to you out of ill will or because he could. Hondo was just eccentric.
‘But…,’you couldn’t help think. But what if? What if? What if he finally found something you truly needed?
Could it finally be Cody’s helm? Or could it be a piece of Rex? You knew in your heart it wasn’t either of those, it never was, but still you hoped. Still you held on and asked the Force to give you just this one win. Just this once, let you have something of Rex. Anything would do. A pauldron, his Kama, a piece off of his belt, something, anything. You just wanted some piece of him to hold onto. You missed him so much. You missed them both, but where Cody could be hard and demanding and strict, Rex was soft and loving. He would hold your fingers in secret where Cody would just stand. Rex would let his hand linger on your shoulder a few seconds longer than need be, while Cody would just grunt in acknowledgement. Rex would praise you after training; Cody would demand perfection, pushing you harder than Obi-Wan ever would. But when he would show you his love, Cody would love with the brilliance of a burning sun.
Hondo waved at you from the otherside of his door, giving you a flourished bow before opening the airlock. But as you walked in, your mind wandered, thinking to your lovers.
You missed them both so much and you could use a few of their pep-talks, especially now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Obi-Wan and Anakin stood on the Training Observation Deck of the Negotiator, watching their Padawans work through a strenuous series of obstacles and training droids.
Cody and Rex stood on the sides of their respective Generals, watching as well.
Ashoka did well, flipping, moving, and swinging her saber with ease. Each of her targets went down with raw power, showing how strong she was getting. You, on the other hand, were tired and sore and not moving as quickly as you usually do. But, that was because Ashoka just came back off a week's leave from Coruscant and you had recently gotten shipside from a long and drawn out campaign with Foxtrot Group. You were exhausted when she was refreshed. But that didn't mean you could slack off in your training. You had to be stronger, you had to be better. You were Jedi, you would not fail.
Ashoka finished the trial a few seconds before you did, landing at the finish line on one foot. Just as you were about to execute your final flip, the training block shifted underneath you, causing your foot to slip. Before you could right yourself, a stun bolt hit you square in the back, knocking you down. You landed on the ground with a hard and loud thud, ending the exercise.
Obi-Wan watched as Ashoka went to help you up, feeling guilty for having you train. He knew you were tired and drained, but you had insisted on working with the other Padawan. He should have put his foot down and told you to get some sleep. But he didn't and here you all were.
Anakin walked forward to the console and stopped the exercise, reseting it.
"Good job Snips, finally getting that barrel flip down.” He called over the comm. “Thank you, Master.”
You were standing behind Ashoka as she spoke to her Master, dusting off your robes and massaging your neck, disappointed in yourself. You should have sensed that bolt coming, you should have been able to right yourself and finish the test. You stood there, mentally berating yourself so much that you didn't realize Obi-Wan had started to address you.
"It's alright Young One, you did excellent, but I fear your exhaustion has hindered your training for today. Why don't you go and eat and get some much needed rest and we can revisit this at a later time."
Obi-Wan, ever the loving caretaker, cursed himself for even allowing you to work in your state. You could have gotten seriously injured and where would that have put you? He knew in all honesty you should be in the medbay getting checked out and possibly doing a little time in a bacta tank.
But, Marshal Commander Cody thought differently. Ever the perfectionist, he would not accept this as the end of your session. With his bucket under his left arm, he walked up to the console and pressed the comm, calling you.
"No Jed'ika. Start over."
You looked up into the window of the viewing deck and saw him staring at you, eyes hard. The others looked on in mild concern and irritation. Obi-Wan was about to chastise his second, when he noticed you move to the beginning and prepare for another assault. You knew he was right, he always was. You could do better, you should be doing better, but you let your exhaustion lie to you. You weren’t so tired that you couldn’t finish this level. You’ve done this countless times, late in the evening, with Cody at your side. There was absolutely no reason you couldn’t finish it now.
Cody looked back to his General for a split second, as if looking for permission, before restarting the training exercise. This time, as you went though the course, you only made it halfway before failing again. There was a trick shot the training droids took that you weren’t prepared for and you took another bolt to your upper thigh. You were going to have an ugly bruise in a few hours.
Gingerly you stood, favoring your leg for a few seconds before shaking it off. Just another color added to your already mottled and scarred skin.
As you went to stand, you saw the course reset once more and heard Cody’s voice over the comms, “Again.”
Rex didn’t like this, but he knew what Cody was doing. He knew if you were just pushed harder, if you were taken to your limit, you would not fail. He also knew that if you left the course without succeeding you would beat yourself up for days, feeling weak and useless. Rex didn’t like it, but he agreed. Obi-Wan watched on, focusing on your resilience and strength in the Force, humbled by his young Padawan. Anakin, on the other hand, didn’t like what was happening and felt that the Commander of the 212th was being too careless with your safety. This went on for some time, Cody would call for you to restart, you would fail, you would get up, and he would call again. Over and over and over.
Finally, after what seemed like hours, Anakin had enough. “This is absurd! She’s clearly tired and needs rest. Hells, she needs time in the Medbay!” He walked up to the console and used his shoulder to push Cody out of the way, calling to you, “Padawan, you’re done now. Go straight to the Medbay. I want Kix to look you over.” He turned to Rex, “See she gets there, I don’t trust the Commander at the moment.”
Ashoka looked visibly uncomfortable from where she stood on the viewing deck and gazed up at Obi-Wan for any kind of reaction. He said nothing, just watching his Padawan try to get up off of the mat while pulling at the hairs in his beard. Before he could give the order for Cody to help take you to the medbay, Cody unceremoniously stomped over to the lift door and went down into the training room. They watched as he approached you and pulled you up, speaking harshly in a hushed tone to you.
You watched as Cody barreled towards you and crouched down at your eyelevel to look at you sternly. “Get up, Jed’ika. Get up. You don’t have time to wallow in your self pity. You don’t have time to lay here. You don’t have time to fail! Get up!” You listened to his words and tried to stand, but your knee where you had just taken a bolt gave out and you fell. Cody wrapped his hand around your bicep firmly and pulled you up.
“Each time you fail, another one of your men dies! You get up and you do it again! Each failure is another soldiers life gone! The men you swore to protect! Get up!” You nodded and stood on your own feet, albeit wearily. He was right. “You are a Jedi. You are not some clanker who falls over with the slightest push. You are better than this! You are better than your failure. You are Jedi. Do better. What is it that you’re always quoting from General Yoda? There is no try. You either do it, or you fail. And I do not accept failure! AGAIN.” Once he knew you were on stable legs, he stalked off to the sideline and prepared to yell at you more as you went through the program.
“Master, this is ridiculous! Cody has lost his mind! She’s too tired and needs medical attention.” Anakin was almost shaking; he was so upset. Who did Cody think he was? You were going to get seriously injured if you continued on. You needed rest and bacta, not constant berating and training. This wasn’t the way one taught a Padawan. This wasn’t the way Obi-Wan taught him.
Obi-Wan quirked an eyebrow at Anakin and breathed loudly out his nose, removing his hand from his beard. “Yes, I do believe you are right, Anakin. It seems I have let this get out of hand.” He stood closer to the control panel, hand hovering over the comms, but instead of turning off the program, he restarted it and turned it to a higher level of intensity. Anakin balked.
“Master! She’s going to get killed!” Ashoka cried out, looked to her Master and back to Obi-Wan, a strange feeling of anxiety sitting in her throat. It seemed through all the arguing and annoyances the Jedi were currently engaged in, they forgot about the Captain standing there, bucket under his arm, watching his brother and his Jed’ika. In his mind he kept a chant of ‘Come on, come on, you can do this.’ Over and over he thought, urging you to finish it. He wanted nothing more than in that moment to run down there and do as Cody was doing. He wanted to push you further, to push you to where he knew you could go. But he couldn’t, he was made to stand at ease and watch everything from the viewing deck. But, everything in him was down there on the mat with you, his most beloved, urging you to be better. The only thing on his mind was watching you finish this training exercise, going to your quarters to help you bathe, wrap your wounds, and finally making sure you ate a good meal. If he knew his brother, which he did, Cody was thinking the same thing.
You stood at the beginning once more and took a deep breath, hearing the mechanical beep signaling the beginning of the exercise. ‘Do better,’ you thought, before starting. You moved quickly through, dodging each blast, flipping and jumping higher and higher onto different ledges, using your saber to volley away bolts you could not dodge on your own, until you got to the point where you kept failing. Through the course, you could hear Cody yelling at you to keep going, keep moving, to not stop. You could hear him demanding excellence from you, he wanted more than what you thought you could give. He wanted perfection. It pushed you to go further, to work harder, to be better. You wouldn't fail your men and you wouldn't fail Cody. You dug deep into yourself and thought back to the training your former Master gave you, to that harsh and dangerous form. You could do it, you just had to concentrate. If you could find your center, you could toe that line made of shadows while still holding onto the light. You breathed deep, ‘allow your emotions to guide your strikes...feel that bubbling of anger and frustration, grab onto it to push you further. But do not give in. Just use it to fuel your power.’ Your old Master’s voice rang in your head, their training at the forefront of your mind. Multiple bolts fired at once, but instead of one landing a hit, you switched into Form VII, into Juyo. The most difficult saber form, Juyo was dark and dangerous, only used by those skillful Masters equipped with the knowledge of what it means to touch the Darkside and still stand in the Light. Used by your old Master.. taught to you by them in the shadows of Malachor… You shook your muscles out before jumping up against a wall structure, running its length with ease as more bolts were blocked. As you reached its end, you bounced over to the other wall and repeated the pattern, running and blocking, before twisting up onto its ledge. You stood, saber drawn across your body, balancing on the balls of your left foot as your right sat crossed on your thigh. You waited, breathing in and feeling the pulse of the machines across the Force.
THERE.
You flipped up, saber swinging around you in a figure eight, blocking each bolt back, volleying them towards the mechanical guns that sprang from the walls.
You landed once more in your previous spot before swan diving to the ground, landing with practiced grace and ease at the end, having finally completed the exercise. “Kark yeah!” Cody grunted, quickly walking to you. You had a tired smile on your face when he reached you. He reached out to grab your shoulder, squeezing it gently, before letting his hand fall away just as quickly. You looked up at him with adoration.
“I knew you could do it, Cyare,” he whispered, praising you, before taking a respectful stance, remembering that you were a superior and that you both were not alone. You nodded your thanks and tried to give him a look that said, "I love you". Hopefully he understood. He did.
Cody went to get you a towel to wipe your face as the others joined you on the mat. There were praises and excitement from the other Padawan, but both Obi-Wan and Anakin shared a look; they knew those moves. Knew that stance. A dangerous form like Juyo left unchecked could cause irreparable damage. It might be time for you to study a little under Master Windu if you are to continue in that form. Either way, Obi-Wan could feel the relief and happiness rolling off you, it could wait for another day. He also noticed a few feelings not very Jedi-like, aimed at the Marshall Commander and the Jaig-eyed Captain of the 501st. He quirked an eyebrow, but still he smiled his dazzling smile at you.
Obi-Wan was so proud of you, you felt giddy. It was all you ever wanted, and you knew you had it. He was proud of you.You proved to yourself and your Master that you weren’t some weak kid playing at being a Jedi. You truly were one and no matter how tired or weary you were, you could finish what you started.
Later that evening, after getting off duty, Rex made his way to your quarters, a tray of food in hand and a few bandages in the other. He hadn't even stopped at his bunk to change out of his armor. He went straight to the mess hall and then to you, wanting to check in.
When he approached your door, he knocked once before punching in your code, knowing he'd always be welcomed in. When the door slid open, he couldn't help but smile under his helmet at the sight.
You were sitting on the edge of your desk, freshly showered, robes put away, wearing loose, grey, linen pants and a black smallshirt. Cody was also freshly showered and in clean blacks, his armor stacked neatly by your bed. He sat in your chair, positioned between your legs, wrapping scrapes and cuts from the campaign and the training from earlier in fresh bandages, rubbing bacta on your bruises, and whispering words of praise and love to you.
Beside you both were 3 trays of untouched food, waiting to be consumed; one for you, one for Cody, and one for Rex.
Rex entered, letting the door slide closed behind him, a soft smile on his lips. He placed the extra tray of food next to the others, took off his bucket, and dropped a kiss to the top of your head before heading to your small refresher. When he exited, loose towel around his waist, Cody’s head was already buried between your naked thighs.
That night you all had the best sleep in ages, you sandwiched between the two men, tangled in sheets and their limbs, finally able to be together after so long apart. None of you would trade it for the world.
