Concept: The Tallamasca tries to recruit Daniel back in the 80's, Armand lets it happen because he wants to see what his boy would do
Daniel then proceeds to yell at several Tallamasca agents that they clearly don't know shit about vampires and they just nod and take out notebooks because yes, that's why we want you Mr Molloy, you have more practical experience than any of us
Daniel laughs when they start to ask questions about Armand specifically and he decides to have fun by telling them completely true but completely irrelevant shit about Armand (and maybe some about Louis too, they look surprised that he has met Louis and survived)
The Vampire Armand has great calligraphy, beautiful but still legible
The Vampire Armand drolls on his sleep
The Vampire Armand is a big fan of nail polish
The Vampire Armand's favourite art movement is Dadaism
The Vampire Armand prefers motorbikes to cars
The Vampire Louis loves photography
The Vampire Louis hates it when people dog ear a page on a book to mark where they were at
Daniel intended all this little nonsense fun facts would annoy the agents but to his dismay they keep taking notes and acting as if they are getting some big revelations to update their files with, he gets frustrated and leaves
Armand finds this all very amusing, once again his beloved boy has surpassed his expectations and surprised him, he should reward him with some blood and a nice outing, perhaps a new golden watch for his collection too
Meanwhile the Tallamasca agents are marking Daniel down as a person of interest and plan to follow his whereabouts for the rest of his life, they thought Daniel was some pet/slave for the Vampire Armand who they thought to be around 200 years old and were offering their protecting in exchange of information, their chat with Daniel has revealed that Armand is actually
closer to 500
A lot more powerful than they thought
Capable of blending in with humans to a concerning point
More interested and aware of human affairs than other immortals (again very concerning)
Marius de Romanus creation (they are very excited about this new piece of information)
Allows Daniel an insane amount of freedom but also feels comfortable enough around him to allow himself vulnerabilities such as falling asleep around the human (they update Daniel's file and mark him as a human paramour and possible future vampire, they make a point not to tell this to Daniel)
They also learn that yes, vampires have human-like relationships with each other, this seems obvious to Daniel but it's a very contested fact in the organisation, with defenders and detractors all giving big speeches and presentations defending their opinion on the matter pretty regularly
It was NOT Daniel's intention to reveal any of this, the majority he thought they knew
Daniel: Louis Du Lac is a snob, put a trashy magazine in front of him and he'll literally turn up his nose
The agent, writing it all down: You know more than one vampire? And have talked to them as if they were people and not creatures of the night? And you know them intimately enough to know their opinions on things such as this?
Daniel: wait no, that was supposed to be a useless piece of information
The agent, vibrating with excitement: what else do you know
Daniel, feeling lost and needing a cigarette: Armand likes Blade Runner
The agent: fascinating
Daniel: no, you are supposed to think this is irrelevant
Agent: tell me more about The Vampire Armand's opinions on pop culture
OMGG LOL this is so funny im dying. the concept of Daniel trying to be intentionally unhelpful out of spite and actually being incredibly helpful in the process is soooo peak comedy and in character i love it.
I think any talamasca member would fight tooth and nail to get their hands on extremely mundane vampire fun facts. Their jobs r canonically the useless collecting and maintaining of information on supernatural creatures that they will use for nothing and just like to have for the wow factor and so I feel like they wouldn’t care about the difference between valuable facts and invaluable facts. Armand is capable of exploding ppls internal organs from the inside and Armand has a hyper fixation on mobile apps r both equally valuable bits of lore considering what they plan to do with it (create a profile of his character and store it in a vampire library). So Daniel saying smth like “Louis is insecure about being a bad artist” or “Armand cries during sex” would be like a goldmine for them 💀

Can I get your opinion, since you seem to be a pretty straight shooter ?
Do you think that Orym is lying to himself when he says he doesn’t want the sword for revenge or isn’t motivated by revenge? In the same way that Laudna was lying to herself and the others about why she wanted the sword?
I’ve seen a lot of ~discourse~ over whether or not orym is being truthful here and tbh I don’t know what to make of it.
My short answer: I suppose it's possible revenge might be among the many factors motivating him, but I don't believe it's his primary motivator.
My real answer? Who fucking cares.
There has been a pretty consistent pattern in which a lot of people who defend Laudna (and Imogen, for that matter) are so laser-focused on their motivations that they utterly ignore the actual consequences of their actions. Because that's the thing, right? You can make speculative claims about motivations; there is no true way to prove that Orym has absolutely no vengeful bones in his body since there's a myriad of reasons to go after the Vanguard and its leadership of which revenge absolutely is one. But you can't deny actions without someone inconveniently pointing out the truth that the action was, in fact, performed by a particular character. So it's a popular focus for people who don't actually have any evidence of their points.
Intent and motivation is, obviously, useful in understanding what a character might do. It's useful in understanding whether they could perhaps be swayed one way or another (eg: Liliana's intentions are in fact of vital importance for that reason, because if they understand what drives her, they might be able to change her path). But it's useless in judging harm done to other people. If someone kills a pedestrian in a crosswalk because they fell asleep driving because they'd stayed up all night for a charitable cause, or if they kill them because they were drunk driving, someone's still dead because of their actions. (For that matter, and I said this in an earlier post, the pedestrian is also equally dead if the driver were drunk driving because they are a well-intentioned alcoholic who fell off the wagon vs. an asshole who doesn't think the rules apply to them.) I don't blame the victim's family for hating the driver in any of the scenarios, even though I think that the some of the above drivers are far more likely to be people who will attempt to rehabilitate themselves and for whom I as a person more removed from the situation may have more pity.
Ultimately, how others see a character in-world is going to be a measure of their actions. So, for example, it does not actually matter if Imogen floats allying with the Vanguard because she wants to connect with her deadbeat mom; Orym is still justified in being hurt and offended because she said something insensitive in front of him. It's better that Imogen is doing this out of an idealized desire rather than malice; I think far better of her as a character and believe there is room for growth; but that doesn't change what she did and that it was, in fact, insensitive. It speaks well to her that Laudna's pressure point is "this sword could hurt your friend" and not "hey what if you could have a sick evil sword of your own", but she did still attack her friend in the middle of the night even with good intentions.
If Orym wants to kill Ludinus out of vengeance for the deaths of his family or if he wants to do so because Ludinus has done immeasurable harm already and very well might destroy the world (and I certainly do believe Orym is motivated by the latter, even if the former plays a role), Ludinus still ends up dead. Sure, if he's motivated only by revenge it might change how you interact with him, the way how Bells Hells treat Keyleth quite differently than they do Ira, but in terms of analyzing whether any specific action was helpful or harmful? Utterly fucking irrelevant.
Anyone making the argument that Orym might not have the purest motives either, as a means to defend Laudna, is either too dumb to even find the correct questions to ask or deliberately throwing up a smoke screen, and as this post indicates, doesn't fucking matter if they're stupid or malicious - they're a waste of your time. Don't even bother.

Alright, Uchiha Clan oppression longpost
This is the unavoidable, and often central, topic people tend to surround their Naruto politics takes on, and is as a result a big, ugly discourse-generator. It's also a subject I'm definitely always thinking about when it comes to Naruto as a noted Sasuke stan, and my thoughts on it have changed gradually over the years. I'm making this post to share what my current interpretation on "how and why the Uchiha Clan were oppressed" is.
Before I do that though, notice on what this post is not:
I'm not writing a "discourse ender", a take meant to be spread around with the claim of being the only correct interpretation of events. This is a post I wrote to share the exact way I rotate an aspect of the manga in my mind, and to convince people that looking at it from this angle is interesting. Basically: it's not that serious, I think about this because it's fun.
This isn't a "character-bashing" post or whatever either, so like if you agree with what you read here, I suppose I can't stop you from using those infamous "anti-[X]" tags, it's just that making a post that warrants them has never been my intention.
Along with that, I do want to address the by now very well established fact that Naruto the series is Not Very Good, and has glaring inconsistencies in its writing. The Uchiha Clan drama is definitely not exempt from this, and in its case the failures in Kishimoto's writing usually show in inconsistent power-scaling, in which we're made to accept weird leaps in logic (how does a 13 year old get rid of what we're told is one of the most powerful and feared clans internationally?) That being said, those particular inconsistencies are kind of irrelevant to this particular post, and don't much change the fact that the Uchiha Clan Massacre did happen. I'll be taking it as a given that if you're reading this, you're accepting to suspend your disbelief of those events on a technical level, and are more interested in how I make sense of it all more on the diegetic social/political level.
With that settled, we can get to the important part now:
The most popular take (as far as I've personally seen) on the events that led to the Uchiha Clan's downfall is the one that takes Madara at his word: the Senju have been oppressing the Uchiha since Konoha's conception, and Tobirama becoming the 2nd Hokage gave him the opportunity to put the Uchiha in a more socially disadvantaged position (police force), gradually earning them the villagers' ire, which was the catalyst for their eventual genocide.
This interpretation works if the end goal of your analysis is to say "Tobirama really fucking sucks". I don't think this conclusion is an unreasonable one, since Tobirama's hostility towards the Uchiha is great enough that he can callously tell a 16 year old genocide survivor that if his clan "self-destructed for the sake of the village, so be it". However, to me, the circumstances surrounding the Uchiha Clan are much wider-encompassing and more fascinating than narrowing their fate to a single man in fan meta written to convince you to hate him, so it goes without saying that I don't think "this is all Tobirama's fault" is a very interesting lens to look at this from.
I also don't buy the argument that making the Uchiha cops was (originally) to their detriment. We'll get back to that in a bit. I suppose this depends on how you look at Tobirama's character, but I think that when he said he made the police force as a sign of trust and to give the clan something useful to do in Konoha, he was being genuine. Arguing the opposite requires you to either believe that a law enforcement order could ever be in an oppressed position by default, or that Tobirama created a fundamentally useless new institution because he just hated the Uchiha that much. I think the former is a weird thing to argue if you're trying to be Leftist about all this, and the latter is a very ungenerous interpretation of Tobirama's character in which his own "racism"/pettiness overshadows his more utilitarian instincts to ensure that the village his brother built was safe and functioning. Obviously you could interpret that, but that leads us back to the "everything is Tobirama's fault" take, that I already mentioned I find lame as hell.
So then, how do I think the Uchiha Clan was oppressed? Because I think they indisputably were, or I wouldn't be making this post. Well, I think it was less "The Senju/Tobirama have always wanted to lord over them and wanted them dead", and more: they became gradually more socially disadvantaged during the era of Hidden Villages, with the consecutive world wars creating a souring global opinion on kekkei genkai clans.
(I'm gonna base my arguments primarily on what we see happen in the manga, and I'll add in some information from the fanbooks/databooks that weren't contradicted by what we see happen in Kishimoto's canon)
Let's start with what we know, definitely, that canon tells us:
Kekkei genkai clans are discriminated against to a very high extent, leading to things such as their mass slaughter (eg, the Uchiha Clan obviously, but also kekkei genkai clans like Haku's clan in the Land of Mist), and a vulnerability which puts them in positions where they're likelier to be targeted and kidnapped (eg, Hinata, but also Orochimaru having a whole criminal entreprise built on kidnapping and experimenting on people possessing kekkei genkai).
The trend for their discrimination is in being scapegoated. When Haku talks about the genocides in the Land of Mist (I refuse to call it the Land of Water sorry it sounds so stupid), this is how he describes them:
(chapter 59)
basically, it's not shinobi as a whole who are badly seen even though all sorts of them were likely participating in those wars: it's kekkei genkai clans in particular. Compare this to the Uchiha Clan being blamed for the Nine Tails attack (I mean one of them certainly was responsible, but was entirely unaffiliated with the rest of the clan) and being roped off to the edge of the village as a result.
Kekkei genkai clans are also frequently described by characters as being a bit "wilder" and more violent than usual shinobi. Tobirama calling the Uchiha "cursed", Kushina describing the Uzumaki as being "a bit savage", and Kakashi introducing us to the concept of kekkei genkai initially with these fun visuals:
(chapter 25)
The thing that's interesting about all this is the context in which it exists: the shinobi villages aren't technically "nations", but I think it would be accurate to liken their possessiveness of their secrets and paranoia regarding outside intrusion + conception of themselves as unified cultural entities + incredibly harsh treatment of dissidents (becoming a rogue is essentially a death sentence) to nationalism. There's an intentse "in-group vs out-group" feeling here.
Not to mention that canonically that shinobi have always been tools of imperialism for greater powers. While Hashirama's initial dream was to put an end to that, it eventually became corrupted; there was already discontent regarding land and resource allocations during his tenure as Hokage, and while we have no idea why the 1st War started, we know that by the time we're on the 2nd one, Konoha had become a tool for the Land of Fire's imperialist expansion (and was apparently was expanding its influence as a military village, too).
(chapter 436)
Basically, the "in-group vs out-group" conception that had once solely been clan-centric widened, and became this new concept of shinobi villages.
This is important because nationalistic sentiment inevitably rises during war; as a result, there's be a sharper eye for who'd turn traitor, who wasn't supporting the military effort, who would endanger their nation/village, etc. With this, there would be greater suspicion directed towards kekkei genkai clans, because they're more "genetically predisposed" to being unpredictable, because they would appear more loyal to their own than to the whole of the village, because they were the likeliest to turn traitor, and so on.
This would be a gradual process going on since the 1st War, but I believe that the 2nd War was where this kickstarted into becoming so much worse, because that one saw the destruction of Uzushio. It was a village composed entirely of a single clan, didn't bend to any of the big 5, and the Uzumaki were "savage" and had abilities that were greatly feared. It would be interesting to consider the idea that their associations with Konoha would have done them more harm than good here, too, given that Konoha was the Big Bad in the 2nd War and an alliance with them would not have been viewed positively.
It's thinking about all this in context, where nationalism was at its peak, where there's an idea that genetic chakra abilities impair swathes of people from being regular functioning shinobi like everyone else, is how we can imagine the Uchiha were discriminated against. They had another disadvantage to them as well, given that one of the first deadly attacks committed on Konoha was done by one of them. If we want to go back to the police force argument, it would be interesting to consider the idea that while it had been a good position for them at first, the utility and influence of the institution gradually eroded over time, and by the time the era where the massacre happened came along it became nearly meaningless since most of its original functions had been assigned elsewhere; as the kekkei genkai clan discrimination rose, the Uchiha also fell victim to it and their influence within the village significantly reduced out of fear of them.
The surveillance and the sequestering of the Uchiha Clan came after two important events; the first being the 3rd Great Shinobi War, and the second being the Nine Tails' attack on Konoha which happened barely a year post-armistice. Konoha was barely recovering from global armed conflict when half of it was destroyed in that attack; tensions are high, the Hokage is dead, and so the village saw an incredibly convenient scapegoat in the Uchiha clan.
So... yeah, that's how I see it! I find this a more fun interpretation than just pointing fingers at individual characters, because it allows me to consider the wider worldbuilding of the Naruto world, and also doesn't assume the Uchiha's position was especially unique and the end-be-all of all the problems with Naruto's politics. It's certainly important, but it's part of a greater network of problems too!
#send post#The ground is soft and I'm ready to dig#Uchiha#this is somehow both longer and shorter than I expected it to be#Anyways feel free to discuss and ask for clarification on some points if they seem confusing!

Champagne Bracket: Round 3, Poll 1
Propaganda from submitters Under Cut
Yoshiya "Joshua" Kiryu
He’s a bitch and a hate (love) him. I will now quote him below: "Sigh... I don't do the whole sweating thing, Neku." "Very impressive, Neku. Show those fifth graders who's boss." "Who needs other people's values? It's easier to just live by your own rules." "Oh! I can't say I'm particularly interested, but... I'll go ahead and ask, for the sake of convenience. Do you have a name?"
Smug asshole. Always playing mind games with the player character. Has many secrets but never shares them. Also did a bunch of spoilery shit.
Byakuya Togami
Very elitist, constantly calls others "commoners", talks about how he is gonna kill someone and get out of the killing game, hangs up a corpse and writes a message with their blood on the wall because he already knows the murderer but wants to see who is smart, complains the other students left him out even though he made sure to tell them every time that he wants nothing to do with them, pretty sure he screams in the 4 chapter " How can you know something I don't know?!", the only reason he doesn't qualify as a villain is cus he doesnt kill someone and in the end works with the rest of the survivors. He also constantly wants the protagonist to tell the rest what he knows
he's mean and self-centered and sees himself as above everyone else.
such a cunt 😭 doesnt eat breakfast w everyone and spends all his time in the library. (also he tampered with a crime scene but spoilers)
His title is literally, get this, "ultimate affluent progeny" Fucking look at him /hj Treats everyone as inferior in every way, even when they're trying to solve a murder he goes "how did YOUUU figure this out before MEEE???? >:0" Constantly has an "Me vs. Them" mentality about everything so he feels the need to prove himself to be superior - Messes with crime scenes because it would "make them more interesting" (purposefully incriminating someone else, who he didn't like) Actual quotes by him: "I'm only here to get breakfast. I have neither need nor desire to talk to you. Now withdraw." "You're like a child lost in the woods, you know that? A total waste of space." "You know, I still just can't believe it... That an uneducated, brain-dead, useless piece of garbage like you has survived this long." "You have only yourself to blame—you came to me with your tragic little story. I didn't ask you to. This is the real world, not some romantic fantasy fairytale."
This rich mf… He spends the entire game being a snobby, condescending, uncaring asshole. He becomes relatively nicer by the end but never stops being a dick. He also desecrated a corpse once for funsies. He’s also stupid but he doesn’t know that. I both like and hate him. It’s complicated.
He's an heir to a wealthy family corporation and he sure does act the part. He acts like he's better than everyone else and thinks they're not worth his time. He's just a huge asshole. (SPOILERS) He tampers with a murder scene just for fun and outs another student's secret alter, knowing full well it was irrelevant to the case. He also has a small breakdown about being wrong in another trial. By the end, he becomes a bit more likeable and kinda a tsundere that pretends like he doesn't care about the other survivors (but he totally does). Still very much an asshole though. He's a fucked up lil guy and something about him draws me to him. I would kick his rich bastard shins IRL given the chance, however.
He is emotionally detached from his classmates…
why you should vote byakuya "tell em naegi" thanks for watching like and subscribe

Hi
I feel like Monoma was the mouth piece for people who actually raised logical and important questions pertaining to the class 1A and other stuff. Notice how he's quickly shunned, ridiculed. mocked at and used as a gag every time he is onscreen. It's like Hori is more than AWARE of what he's doing so he's using one of his characters to represent people like us to insult and shut us up and tell us to think like the rest, that including his cast of characters and the majority of this god forsaken fandom. When it comes to Hori, I cant separate the art from the artist at this point. What do you feel?
To be honest, I don't think Hori meant for that to happen- at least not at first. The Monoma that was introduced in the Sports Festival arc is a bit difference from the Monoma in more recent arcs.
I think Hori genuinely liked Monoma at first, and wanted to set him up as a minor character that would challenge bkg (it was never about Izuku, was it?) and showcase his growth.
But Monoma received so much hate from fans because he spoke against class A that Hori chickened out and turned him into a gag lmao
I do think Hori (kind of) likes Monoma since he gave him a (kind of) major moment in the war, as well as showed him comforting Eri. Even so, it's clear that he doesn't care about Monoma enough- the asspull after asspull Shiggy & Gang™ keep performing have turned Monoma's efforts effectively useless and everyone's forgotten about him, again :')
I do think you're right, though. Although Hori didn't intend for it to happen, he quickly turned Monoma into a manic mouthpiece for the people that have valid, rational criticisms against some of the things in his story. And you're right, the way he's treated and immediately shut down, even by his own friends, despite being right... if I were Hori, it'd feel pretty damn cathartic lmaoo. Hori comes off as so insanely petty sometimes sighh
Also, the fact that Monoma's not present in any of panels in which Class A and Class B hang out? Hori knows what he wrote Monoma as and that's the reason he can't let Monoma see Class A as just people. Monoma's an empathetic person- he understands people well and cares very deeply for his loved ones. Imagine if he saw Class A as just themselves! Not caricatures he angrily imagines in his head or the way they're painted in the news. He'd feel awful lmfao, and he'd end up liking most of class A. Even so, he'd still hate bkg, and Hori isn't going to let Monoma single bkg out.
It still doesn't mean Monoma's just a mouthpiece though- he's still his own character, he just also serves as a convenient prop sometimes.
Also, kind of irrelevant but can you like imagine Monoma's reaction if he heard of how Class A treated Izuku when he tried to run away from them in his Vigilante arc? Izuku's motivations, while self sacrificing, were noble. The way he was?? Aggressively smacked down and restrained?? I don't recall exactly what happened because there was no Monoma in those panels but I can remember my rage when I read that 😭
As for bkg's "apology..." I'm not even going there pfft
#ask#sorry for rambling on and on TT#i don't often get to shit on bkg#AND hype up my boy Monoma#at the same time :3#anti bakugou#anti bakugou katsuki#monoma neito <3#bnha critical#mha critical#ty for the ask <333#i hope you're having a wonderful day!

6 9 15 for your choice of character!
evening!! thank you for the ask jay! dont. dont look at what day it is. its irrelevant dont even worry about it.
6. Who will they take advice from, no matter what it is? Who won’t they take advice from, no matter what it is?
answered this one here!
9. Do they empathize with non-sentient things (dolls, plants, books…)?
and this one over here! :]
15. What would they consider a waste of time– other than school or work?
unanimously the answer is sleep. cecilias case is a bit more complicated because she doesnt have her puppet as an escape (she Hates being ace so bad), but for all of them its like. the most rancid mix of "i cant get anything done+the Horrors" that makes all of them see sleep as some variation of 'useless bad thing Do Not Do This." for individual answers though:
Caine- cooking. and cleaning. and decorating. honestly basically anything other than the bare minimum upkeep of their living situation that wont end directly impact his work. he lives in an r/malelivingspace ass house. dont even talk to them about their base. this is why ortega still thinks theyre poor.
Cyrus- social hangouts. he used to enjoy these when he was younger, but ever since heartbreak he couldnt see any real point and stopped participating in them. its only recently that hes started doing them again. everybody point and laugh at the loser making Friends again.
Cecilia- this is interesting to answer for her since, after heartbreak, she absolutely Refused to do things that she didnt find interesting or at the very least useful in some way. she would classify her whole life before heartbreak– hell, before becoming lupin– to be a waste. a waste of time she didnt know was precious, a waste of people she didnt know she had to cherish. nowadays, she doesnt have the luxury of time to waste on things she doesnt want to do.
Cynthia- would it be depressing if i said investing into relationships. she Wants to– she so desperately wants to cultivate a real relationship with somebody without strings attached, but shes not naive enough to think that she can. she still puts in effort, but theres always the small nugget in the back of her brain that it isnt worth it.
questions from here!
#pulp answers#ask game#we are Ignoring how long it took me to get to the rest of these asks ok#/j im so sorry this is so late my ass was getting KICKED these past few days 😭#the Only thing so far that cecilia has done that she genuinely did not want to do was puppeting ace#if she could she would abandon the puppet and do everything herself but she Cant#so she limits her time in ace as much as possible#thank you for the ask again! and for your patience hwjsdsjd#caine lynzal#cyrus becker#cecilia rider#cynthia garcia#sidestep#fhr

I hate that they are shoving Jonah down our throats in every possible way in tomb raider. It was bad enough how they randomly decided to drop Sam in favor of him in the second games with no kind of build up (and no I don’t care what happened in the comics. They were irrelevant to the games and the games didn’t even try to match up with the lore there!). CD made it worse when they decided that his only character trait was to be Lara’s poc friend who is her emotional support. He has no character outside of that and he doesn’t seem to have a life outside of being Lara’s support system. They wrote this trilogy in the 2010s and they thought this trope was a good idea?
Jonah is basically like that nerdy white guy in the LAU trilogy but at least the LAU trilogy was smart enough to kill the useless nerd in the end and he had a purpose.

i agree with everything you said. i don't understand why cassandra though it was necesary a flora redemption arc via travel with her daughter and partner to find their origins, i find it werid, as anna and ari have been so little together and i would not go with my mother in a travel with a partner whom i have been with less than a year, is awkward
i also noticed in the end all of them go away in some way or another, james and cordelia go to their honeymoon, thomas and alastair in a new home, matthew in his travels, so maybe the chocie was to show ari truly loved anna and like the rest left to be alone, that is why i don't get flora going with them
i know is useless thinking of this among many other issues this book has, but i have been wondering why this choice of narrative, as well as why flora is friendly with sona in the last scene and not mentions of her talking to anna's parents which i would have understood, maybe anna's parents were excluded in this family meetings flora organised? i don't get anything of this finale and the sudden protagonism of flora who had little to none in the other books
Anon, I would never go to a travel with my mother and my partner and we've been together many years at this point.
When CC mentioned that the finale would be bittersweet I thought she meant the characters parting ways, which it's kind of what happens, but the way she makes it happen is stupid.
Like, Kit died 6 months ago and everyone is happy to play happy family? Anna is "happier than ever" when her brother literally died in her arms? CC either has no siblings or deeply hates them to write something like that.
Also CC totally erased Gabriel and Cecily to give space and a nonsense redemption arc to Flora (btw, she is so irrelevant that when I read your other ask I didn't remember who she was and I understood she was Ari's mother from the context). Flora in like 24 hours switches from "No I pretend I didn't hear it, you are actually straight" to a total 180° turn that is very conveniently not shown, and now she basically holds PFLAG meetings in an era when in England being gay was illegal and people ended up in jail for this.
I could understand this change if the Shadowhunters were a more advanced and open minded society, but in 2007 Alec is terrified that his father may vaguely suspect that he's not straight, thing that now thanks to TLH is a huge plot hole because:
-In 1903 gay Shadowhunters could adopt children, like Anna and Ari consider, and the average reaction to homosexuality is "ahahah I didn't understand why he was making a huge drama out of the fact that he likes men ahahahahah";
-How can Robert's father be homophobic and raise Robert in a homophobic environment since he is literally Anna's nephew??
But back to Flora, she is an irrelevant character who suddenly had a role so CC can check out on the "representation checklist" the line that says "write supportive parents for gay characters". And her travelling with Ari and Anna is embarrasingly invasive and stupid, it would only make sense if, as I said, Anna is about to fall apart and Ari needs her mother's support to tend to her 24/7 until she processes her grief. But in CC's vision, Flora is just there to be a third wheel I guess?
Also, as you pointed out, it's utterly stupid that Flora talks to Sona and not to Gabriel and Cecily, her daughter's in-laws, but let me explain how this shitpile of a book works: why give Gabriel and Cecily any role, despite they actually had a personality before this shitty series came out and they are the ones who lost a child, when the useless mother of the Supreme Perfect Mary Sue of this series can have some space?
Your point is absolutely right, anon. This is just the latest shit tile in a huge shit mosaic.

Allen I should've guessed you were going to ask for a controversial opinion- let's do a Stranger Things one
So this one is only controversial in some circles (mainly the st fandom on tik tok for some reason) but Jonathan is way too overhated.
There was a lot of hate for him after season four, people saying that he was 'lazy' and is just a 'pothead' now, his character becoming irrelevant to the show and,,,that's just not correct. His character, like all of them, has gone through traumatic experiences and honestly he deserves a fucking break. I'd become a pothead too if I was him. He still protected Will and Mike and went to get El- and Argyle was a main part of that but don't even get me started on how underrated he is. Point is; Jonathan was not as 'useless' in season four as some of the fandom complained that he was.
And another thing aha! He is not a bad boyfriend! And no he is not perfect though, he's just a realistic teenager who is at such a crucial point in his life and feeling directionless and fearing he's going to let people who matter so much to him down, Joyce, Nancy, ect.
One more point bc you know how I can be long winded, but a lot his story being pushed aside is so frustrating. He was such a big part of the emotional aspect of the show in season one and we have just seen him slowly get pushed to the sidelines. He had to plan his brothers funeral, he was the character that showed us that Joyce is a good mom but she is not a perfect one, and his frustration with Nancy in season one when they got in that argument!! He's the oldest child in family in poverty who grew up listening to his parents constantly fight, he was such a huge emotion driven character which is needed in this show and they're just kinda grazing over his storyline.
But I am very thankful for the moment they gave us with Will and him the pizzeria kitchen, again reiterating my point of him being an emotional character for the audience.

what i hate the most about fs2 is how they keep rubbing in the audience's faces how fucking amazing haru is and how everyone cares about him and loves him despite his flaws and everyone wants to support him and his bond with rin is the bestest when like, haru is the biggest bitch in that entire film and yet the entire cast coddles him up bc of the writing's need bc he's the main character and the plot demands that other people worry about him and praise him and all that shit. it's like, the essence of "show, don't tell" got lost when almost every single moment that doesn't feel bleak screams "LOOK HE'S THE BEST AND EVERYONE LOVES HIM" to the point where everything just.. ugh mary sue much?? and the fact that the writing had to tune down almost every other character just to highlight haru and even tune down makoto just to highlight how "oh so important" rin is to him??? the fucking nerve?! it's just IT'S JUST SICKENING it feels like eating raw dough covered in powdered sugar but kyoani calls it donuts i hate how this movie ruined the established character developments in s2 they all stripped everyone of their complexity and shoved them into whatever archetype that somehow fits everyone they found lying around inside the kyoani drawers. and the pacing is dreadful it feels both under and overfilled like the airtime is obv very much filled with irrelevant filler shit that don't connect to the plot and go nowhere meanwhile what's little left of the plot is ugh everything and anything is happening all at once but still, pointless? the conflict is stupid all those shits can be resolved in a single sitting which doesn't happen? at all?? wtf are these bitches really adults by now??? there are several plot points being raised and never addressed ever again so what was the point of those plot points being brought up in the first place?? everything gets forever to be resolved but the forgiveness parts are? it's like kyoani doesn't hesitate to display the characters as assholes but are afraid to get them called out for their bullshit and be held responsible for their actions? the only time someone gets actually called out was the ryuuji and rin scene and it feels like it's just that. every consequence that should be is disregarded unless the plot calls for it, but the plot is nothing but a one-dimensional loop of self-imposed pity and entitlement by the characters despite being adults who should know what to do with their career choices without depending on others. also get these kids proper guidance please!!! get them professional coaches, trainers, managers, a mentor, psychiatrist, whatever who can help them manage their career, not relying on freelancers who don't seem to be doing their job FFS THE ADULTS IN THIS SHOW ARE USELESS (except makoto's parents, they raised 3 kids well and did not inflict trauma and issues to their children) an athlete is not just by himself do they even do their research on this? no wonder they break apart at any given time they prob handle all the responsibilities by themselves when should be hiring people! istg don't even get me started on how a lot of characters get handled, especially makoto!11! whoever worked on this movie burned to ashes everyone before them worked for and the only salvation of this franchise is a retcon that will disregard fs movies as canon remove it from existence!! whoever worked on this movie didn't know what they were doing, the ending product is nothing but charred burned food. it's even a fucking disgrace to call fs2 a food this is pig swills
sorry for the long rant. it will happen again
You're so right honestly

I swear if BoruSumi’s not canon, imma leave the whole series.
If BSA has a child and that child has a series, i ain’t watching that monstrosity.
Not gonna lie, BSA is basically like SS and NS. It’s gonna be toxic and Salad doesn’t understand anything about Boruto or understand him on a deeper level like Sumire does. It would be a disgrace to Boruto, Naruto, the Uzumaki clan, and the Hyuga clan. Even with Boruto’s great genetics, the kid will be useless.
Salad’s an irrelevant character who should’ve never been born. She’s a disgrace to the Uchiha clan and let’s not let her ruin the Uzumaki clan.
I think even Kishi prefers Sumire over her and I think he regrets making Sakura (I would too).
Sakura and Salad don’t deserve to call themselves Uchiha or flaunt the symbol. Sakura isn’t even a real Uchiha and I’m pretty sure Salad is an experiment or Sasuke was guilt tripped into having sex with Sakura, because we all saw gaiden and saw how much he wanted to avoid her. And she doesn’t wear a ring (that I’ve seen but I could be wrong) and they’ve never kissed. If they had sex, this implies that they kiss, right?
Salad boring and irrelevant just like her slut of a mother. Even Namida’s more interesting and we don’t know a damn thing about her!
What’s ur favourite ship out of the series and what do u hate the most about Salad?
Unrelated, but Hima’s tsp design is ADORABLE! Totally fit for being a queen
I agree I don't think the will make a third series they still had room since they didn't truly explore Kaguya's origins in Naruto. In Boruto though there isn't really anything that can be used to make a new story after everything is dealt with. Even if they do make a new enemy it would be hard to make them stronger then those In Boruto.
I agree Sarada is toxic like Sakura if the ship happens.
My name says my favourite ship, but if you are on about just Boruto it is BoruSumi.
What I hate about Sarada is how she just a mirror of Sakura and is bringing Boruto down. Like he loses an eye cause she simply didn't activate her Sharingan when Kawaki went after. That's almost as bad as when Sakura failed to destroy the Rinnegan almost dooming the world cause she was scared at stabbing an eye.
Agreed Himawari's design wasn't what I was expecting, but still really good.

there is one thing that makes me curious, I read a post that talked about the death of bakugou, I agreed that about some points like the resurrection is mostly for the fans of the character, that it makes their actions useless while sacrificing an irrelevant hero to bring him back. However, he was talking about how he could promote the development of Midoriya and my question is in what way? Because Midoriya planned to save Tomura, he raised it since the war even without knowing if bk was still alive and that is what he is doing now, but this way of being of Izuku is not dependent on bk, rather it is the center of his character to help who is injured, bk's death would only have caused Izuku unnecessary guilt because he would have blamed himself for his death, since he was supposed to fight Tomura and was removed from their fight.
That is true. Like it or hate it, Izuku would feel guilty about Katsuki’s death even when it wasn’t his fault. It’s just part of who Izuku is.

do you have any useless fun facts about any of the characters in ur fnaf au ... doesnt matter how small or uninteresting they r i think its the funest part in making an au tbh
YESS I have many
Specifically for ScSiB because I'm crazy
A bunch of super irrelevant fazbear employees are characters I like to reuse. Nora Pacheco avoids any and all customer interaction, Anna Kwento is only good with kids because she can discipline them, Mark Cho has an unrequited crush on his coworker Raha but is totally aware she doesn't have romantic interest and likes being her friend, Raha Salib's favorite color is purple and she wears a lavender hijab most of the time, and they're the first ones to notice Glamrock Freddy is being fucking weird.
Vanessa and Valentine were naturally blonde as kids, but their hair darkened when they grew up. Valentine prefers brown hair, but Vanessa lightens her hair.
Gregory has somniphobia. He gets so terrified about sleeping. He snacks a lot to keep his energy up, and tries not to fall asleep unless he is completely alone and unfindable.
Valentine likes pastel/kidcore fashion. She doesn't have a lot of confidence in how she dresses, though, until Glitchtrap comes along.
As for Vanessa, I don't know what kind of fashion she likes, but the love of cutesy things is Valentine. There's kind of a split between Vanny and Vanessa as entities to create Valentine, and as such, Valentine has some of Vanessa's traits (positive, feminine, liking cute things, being kind of friends with Luis).
Vanessa's favorite kind of pizza is cheese. Gregory will eat any kind, but when given the choice, he prefers sausage. Valentine likes cheese too.
Gregory hates pickles.
All of the Brooks kids are trans in some way. Gregory is a trans boy, Vanessa is... girl in a genderqueer way?, and Valentine is.... genderqueer in a girl way??? I don't know how to explain it
Valentine loves sweets, so does Gregory. Vanessa likes them too, but is super careful about watching her weight.
VR makes Gregory super dizzy. This is from constant dehydration more than anything.

Something I have noticed with TVD/TO fans is how there seems to be a lot of misplaced hate and criticism towards Caroline, mainly from Bonnie fans. Saying things like how she was useless and irrelevant, took away screentime from other people (namely Bonnie), was in scenes she didn't need to be in. Also blaming her for the issues with Forwood, Klaroline, Tyler and his character development and why he was disliked by the fandom.
And even going so far as to say that Tyler was just used as a prop to give her popularity and make her a fan favorite, that Tyler is the only reason people liked her. When she was already liked and a fan favorite before Forwood even became a thing. But the one take that rubbed me the wrong way the most was someone saying that Caroline remained jealous of Elena, ebem after turning and that she wished Tyler was with her the way Stefan and Damon were with Elena. There is literally nothing that supports that notion.
I won't ever argue or deny that TVD and TO definitely had issues with racism. We all know Bonnie was treated horribly and deserved better. And I will always point the finger at the writers for that, never a character. A character doesn't write itself or the show. Another thing I don't understand about Bonnie fans is how they call Delena and Klaroline out for being toxic and abusive and hate Elena and Caroline for having been with those guys, but yet still shipped Bamon and Klonnie.
Okay, so it's only toxic and abusive when the white girls get with these guys, but not for the only WOC, who already gets treated so horribly as it is, and in the most racist and disgusting way possible? They honestly just come off as pick mes and so judgmental with internalized misogyny. If we were really being honest with ourselves, we'd all realize that these girls deserved much better and shouldn't have ever been paired with the likes of Damon or Klaus.
Anyone with enough common sense knows that the real reason characters like Bonnie, Tyler, Matt, Jeremy, and even Caroline herself were sidelined and didn't get as much as screentime was because of that drawn out and pointless love triangle that should've never even been the main premise of the show to begin with. It's easier if people would just say "I don't like Caroline" or "She wasn't my favorite", rather than blame her for things that were out of her hands.
In the end, I'm glad Bonnie didn't end up with Damon or Klaus, but especially Damon. Because it showed she's a hell of much a better friend and has way more class than Elena, who not only flaunted her relationship with an abuser in front of everyone, but also completely disregarded Caroline's feelings on the matter, slut shamed and victim blamed her for the abuse she endured, and expected Caroline to get over it and accept it as is.
Luckily I did not encounter any Caroline haters who were Bonnie stans, but while all of the girls were victims of Thirstday misogyny, Bonnie was clearly hammered way harder by misogynoir, I feel bad for her fans for getting so shafted tbh.

25. What is a weird, hyper-specific detail you know about one of your characters that is completely irrelevant to the story?
18. Choose a passage from your writing. Tell me about the backstory of this moment. How you came up with it, how it changed from start to end. Spicy addition: Questioner provides the passage.
17. Talk to me about the minutiae of your current WIP. Tell me about the lore, the history, the detail, the things that won’t make it in the text.
For writing asks?
25.
that Kesler and Juline watch X files, it wasn’t relevant to the fic it was in, considering the age group of the kotlc fandom, i doubt anyone other than me and the one kotlc/X files mutual has watched it (though you guys should because it’s awesome). but it’s important to me
18.
there’s this passage in Two
-
Keefe’s going to die, one voice said
“no, he’s not. They need him alive if they want him to be useful.’
his mind will shatter said another
“no, it won’t. He’s not useful with a shattered mind.”
they will make him go numb
“‘no, he’s not,”
they will horribly hurt him as punishment
“no….”
they will break him. They will crush that light that he has, they will kill the boy you know, the boy you love will be dead
“NO!”
-
i deal with intrusive? thoughts (my brains a asshole) and will literally do things like this to me constantly especially late at night, it didn’t change the ending but i’m pretty sure this passage is going to effect my writing style in the future as i’m planning to use this same way of writing in my wip.
17.
ok i’m trying not to talk to much about my Kesline wip just to see if i can, so i’ll go with the original story i come back to a lot, it’s barley an idea atm so bear with me
basically an massive emp from a solar flare knocks out all of the electricity in the country for six months or more. the main character is a young mom and her two kids, they already have a place to live during the mini apocalypse and the story would be focused on building up their home and gaining members of their little survival gang. less doomsday more nature coming and taking over, also featuring the government being completely useless, tons of found family, ASL, and traumatized kids that where traumatized pre apocalypse
i have a whole list of dystopian clichés and tropes that i hate, and want to avoid at all costs, literally every disabled person dying, getting a home just to have it destroyed, people dying but there’s no actual reason for it even in a apocalypse setting, freaking cannibals every time, the kids doing dumb stuff and getting killed when it would probably be the teens, that weird thing where it goes from realistic end of the world to freaking sci fi out of nowhere the list goes on
*gestures to quiet place* i like end of the world stories like that better (other than the farm being destroyed)
anywho…i don’t actually like fantasy much (reading it or writing it) i really prefer sci fi and dystopian, Kotlc was enough of a mix of the three i was willing to read it
#thanks for the ask!#and i know not every disabled person would survive the apocalypse#but like come on#blind and deaf people?#depending on the situation at hand they may have a advantage#stop killing them off!!!#it’s so dumb!#masked messengers
