#Baby mallard the grandparents have in for rehab atm #i'm babysitting for the day #honestly nothing beats the cuteness of baby ducks #i'm turning off reblogs because no matter how much context i add to wildlife posts #i always get people talking like i haven't personally handled just about every species of raptor in this country #and helped rehab even more #I will say #as a rule #you see a baby bird? leave it be #if you don't have access to a wildlife rescue or people with experience #leave it be and let nature do its thing #this guy got lucky and will go back to the wild in a few weeks time

i'm always slightly skeptical when i see posts bemoaning how no one interacts with fanart/meta/fanfic/fanworks in general anymore, or there's been a sudden great dearth of comments and reblogs and or kudoses or what have you.

like i don't want to dismiss them entirely. community expectations do change, and i think it's worth talking about how the presence of social media algorithms and the commodification of fandoms as more Content can be opposed to the long term community building on which fandom thrives.

but at the same time, people have been complaining about how there's not enough interaction with fanworks since I was twelve, so i think this might be a bit of human nature

Adding on to the post abort Niall’s promo, one thing of note is that he has said that the RAH performance was a turning point for him. He said that until then he had been stuck at home feeling angry at the world and he had only managed to write one song. But after RAH, he felt inspired to write again and one of the songs he wrote for the album is called ‘170 BPM’ and deals with feelings of anxiety.

As a side note, he also mentioned that there were some new additions to the band, and people who were present at the taping of the Jonathan Ross Show said that he had two women as backup singers during the live performance of Heaven.

I think that's really interesting - and shows the advantage of being specific about your pandemic experience (and anything else you are talking about). The specificity actually connects much more than more general statements.

#As a rule #Niall seems to tell small specific stories in promo #which I think is a good strategy #and is a result of both an unwillingness to tell big stories #but also an ability to reveal enough of his life #that the small stories make sense
