hii! i normally don’t request for fics but i really wanted to pitch an idea!

An Arven x reader fan fiction or hc list (absolutely whatever you want lol) for what happens for our characters between fighting the titans! Like the travel to get to each one, staying in the towns together while traveling, etc etc.

really just however you choose to interpret this, i love your arven fics so so so much 🙏

Given how Raidon-adverse Arven starts off, he would refuse to ride the lizard at first. You two would begin the journey on foot. Once you grew tired, you would pull Raidon out and slowly trudge alongside a grumpy and sore Arven until he eventually gives up and agrees to hop on with you

I like to think that Arven would go to certain major cities with you along the way and wait around — maybe even watch — as you got your gym badges

This is what inspired him to make his own badges to give you! He felt a little bad that you weren’t necessarily getting anything out of helping him other than sandwiches (having no clue that you were simply happy with his company)

He’d insist you two try out all the cool new food each city has to offer, too

The two of you would probably camp more often than you stay in hotels or anything like that. Most of the time camping would be spent sharing life stories (lighthearted and not) around the fire and playing with your teams

Although he’s strong, Arven’s clumsy. That being said, if you tried to play soccer/football or something with him and your teams, it wouldn’t go well. He would be too prideful to let you bandage any injuries, but minor injuries would be a guarantee 

Arven would cook you dinner and breakfast at your campsites, feeling insulted (and maybe scared) if you even try to offer to cook in his stead

(he’s totally a food snob. If you aren’t a wonderful cook, he wouldn’t make you feel bad, but he would secretly be sooo upset)

He’d test out new recipes on you in the process, taking inspiration from the restaurants you visited in the cities

Those fun restaurant visits towards the end of the journey would fluster him much more than in the earlier stages. I don’t think he’d have it in him to ask for one to be a proper date, but it would sure feel like it after a certain point

With a little convincing, he might visit the 10 Sights of Paldea with you! 

(He’d just want to see the cute smile on your face as you basked in the views)

As you’ve probably figured out by now, Arven would fall for you slowly, but boy would he fall hard

If you happened to feel sick at any point, Arven would pay for a taxi to get you back home or at least to a hotel, despite any of your possible protests. At first, it would be out of a weird worry that you’d get Mabosstiff more sick; but if it happened later, it would be out of fear for your health

Lots of stargazing would happen. If you’re into astronomy, Arven would let you talk his ear off about all the constellations and whatnot, even if he didn’t find it interesting. He just liked seeing you happy and hearing your voice

Lots of hand holding!! In the beginning just to drag one another along if either of you veered off path, but after the first titan, it would be just a genuine instinct to hold hands as you walked around all the wild areas

The poor man is so touch starved that once it got to that point, there might be a lot of hugging too

If you two happened to share a tent, you might cuddle sometimes. He’d be all tsundere about it at first, like “Eughhh, I guess I’ll cuddle, if I HAVE to protect you/keep you warm/etc, you SMALL WEAKLING.” If he ever actually made you sad about it, his demeanor would change, and he’d welcome you with open arms

oh, it’s more than okay to ask about them! i actually really like talking about my interpretations of the pokémon characters, but i just struggle to articulate my ideas a lot of the time. or forget to share them. i’ve been meaning to drop lore for these two so i’ll do that now!

( putting the answers under a cut because i kinda ended up rambling. oops. )

are they siblings?

yes, they are! juliana is the older of the two, but they’re actually super close in age ( with jules not even being a year older than florian. ) because of that, they’re pretty close and sometimes get mistaken for twins. they still bicker and annoy each other like any other typical sibling relationship, but they respect each other a lot and consider each other their greatest confidant. their relationship kinda ends up paralleling carmine and kieran’s own dynamic as siblings, with juliana and florian seeing each other as equals while the same can’t really be said for carmine and kieran.

what are both of their personalities?

while they’re both pretty level-headed, juliana is definitely the more outgoing and confident of the two. florian is more of the reserved type, someone who typically keeps to himself and would much rather wait in the wings than be center stage, ( too bad he’s basically the major protagonist of the story. ) they’re both fairly friendly, but he struggles connecting with others more when compared to his sister. essentially, they’re kinda like a dialed-back version of mabel and dipper pines. florian generally is a very sweet and open-hearted kid who tries to see the best in others, which often leads to his kindness being taken advantage of and getting pushed around easily, ( i.e. carmine convincing him to keep the secret about ogerpon from kieran. ) because of that, juliana is a little protective of him and isn’t afraid to step in when he struggles to stand up for himself. and while she does like to be seen as reliable, that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t encourage florian to be more confident and advocate for himself more. he does end up growing more of a backbone during the timeskip, which makes her very proud. meanwhile, juliana is a lot more outspoken and doesn’t hold back when things need to be called out. she’s still just as compassionate as her brother and is extremely reliable, along with having a very strong moral compass. she definitely fills the cool, reliable older sister role pretty well.

were they actually raised in paldea?

they grew up in galar like what’s implied in canon, but the details are a little different. they’re actually paldean on their mother’s side, who was originally from cabo poco herself. their family decided to move from wyndon back to her hometown after their father lost his job at one of macro cosmos’s now defunct finance subsidiaries. luckily, he was able to land a new desk job in medali and now larry’s his boss. ( the two get along well, they talk about their kids during lunch breaks. )

which storylines from the game are each of them the main character of?

juliana takes on the victory road and starfell street storylines while florian tackles the path of legends and filling out the pokédex, with both of them coming together for the way home. initially, i conceptualized them as co-protagonists and they still kinda are… but florian has definitely taken on the role as primary protagonist with how much shit keeps on just happening to him. i would expand the specifics of how the path of legends plays out for florian and how his friendship with arven develops, but i’ve already rambled enough so i’ll try to talk about that in another post.

keep seeing cool artists do timeskip versions of Pokémon characters and decided I wanna do them for the SV cast, so here's Arven to start with!!

She's worked out her mommy issues to an extent, but still feels a need to make up for Sada's mistakes. Also think she might be engaged/married to Nemona, but I'll figure it out.

Arven is still discovering his taste in music so it's like a bit of everything that's worst... While Giacomo just spreads mustard (too much) on two buns and that's his sandwich!

I like to think that the two complement each other a little (a lot), eventually they improve over time! Arven starts working or doing everything in silence, Giacomo needs music to work. Giacomo can live on fast food or microwave food while Arven almost religiously cooks all his own food (sometimes laziness wins, he has a microwave and I'm sure he makes popcorn in it).

I have a really hard time with comics that aren't silly so I wrote this instead. SV quartet is both very fun to write and also a nightmare because none of them have an ounce of tact as a side effect of being 16. Anyways THANK U!!

Violeta hadn’t realized Nemona was trailing off until the sudden silence snapped her back to attention. The others seemed to have noticed it too, because Arven had stopped mid-bread-buttering and Penny was doing a terrible job at pretending she wasn’t stealing glances at Nemona, her phone game abandoned. Nemona was already doing that thing that Violeta had come to expect from her, head slightly bowed and holding her braced arm to her chest like she was curling in on herself. She was the one to finally break the silence, and not to resume her rambling on the history of Johtoian boom teams. 

“Do you guys think I’m, like, annoying?” Nemona asked. She seemed genuinely bothered by this out of the blue revelation, fidgeting with her tie and furrowing her brows as she flicked her gaze to each of her friends in turn. Violeta was not proud of the way she paused. Arven frowned, his gaze laser focused on the sandwich in front of him. Penny made a little noise in the back of her throat, expression pinched as she struggled to find the right words. 

“Oh,” Nemona replied, the earlier enthusiasm gone from her voice like a deflated balloon. She shook her head and continued with a practiced monotony that sounded like she was reading off a script. “I’m uh… that was really inconsiderate of me. I’ll try to keep your interests in mind more when I talk. It’s rude to dominate conversations, and I… uh… sorry.” 

“Hey, uh,” Penny interrupted her, concern written all over her face. “You’re not annoying, just… a lot sometimes?” She grimaced as though finding the right words was physically painful. 

“Yeah!” Arven added. “I like hearing you talk about stuff. I don’t like, get it– I’m not smart like you– but it’s uh. Nice?”

“You’re not annoying,” Violeta finally said. “It’s just… you talk a lot about stuff most people don’t care about.”

Nemona looked completely crestfallen. “Yeah,” she said, back to fidgeting with her tie. “I um. I realized you all looked really bored and I didn’t really know when you started looking bored and I realized I was probably annoying you all but you were too afraid to say anything, my mom always says I’m kinda intimidating when I'm like this and that’s why no one wants to be my friend. And, uh, the doctor tells me that people don’t like it when someone talks too much because they look selfish and I’m not like that, I care about your interests too but it’s re–”

“Hey,” Arven cut her off, looking wildly uncomfortable. “That’s not, I don’t think… That’s not true.”

“Which part?” Nemona asked. Arven waved the butter knife around like he could pluck the words out of the air. 

“All that weird stuff you were talking about, the whole uh, no one wanting to be your friend thing. We’re your friends.” Penny nodded along. “I actually like it when you talk a lot, it means I don’t have to. It’s cool when you talk about stuff and I can just be on my phone or whatever. It makes things not awkward.”

“I’m not bored,” Violeta added. “And I don’t think Penny is either, her face just looks like that.”

Penny shot a look Violeta’s way, huffing. 

“Yeah!” Arven reaffirmed. “It’s nice when you talk about stuff you like while I’m making sandwiches, it’s kinda calming in a way.”

“I just like hearing my friend talk about something she likes,” Violeta said.

Nemona’s expression started to brighten. “Really? You’re not mad?”

Arven waved a hand. “Ramble away.”

“Sometimes you just gotta infodump,” Penny reaffirmed, getting a quizzical look from Violeta and Arven. Nemona sat back, smile back on her face as she bounced her leg and stared up at the sky. Nemona’s excited rambling came back as quickly as it had gone, gaining confidence with each word. 

“Ok, where was I…”
