Titling a painting

This is a painting from an earlier module. I’d made a rather dramatic video as its AR overlay but, after talking in a tutorial about the use of text in art, I thought I might substitute the apocalypse for a very simple title and signature. As part of my proposal, I originally wanted to burn my oil painting but due to personal circumstances and inclement weather, I was not able to do this to create my willow charcoal. From this months Mac Training sessions with Dan, we were introduced to Artivive, a free Augmented Reality tool to use physical artwork as a bridge to augmented digital artwork. I took a photo of my oil painting and uploaded it to Artivive to bridge it to a free use GIF of fire, so that when it would be scanned, it would then digitally set ablaze. However, as illustrated below, my painting was not defined enough to be able to be scanned by the application.

After this setback, I reevaluated the idea of a sustainable "burn". I then remembered we had gone through the idea of Projection Mapping with Dan also. I was inspired by the below video by Philipp Frank.

The idea of using a projection to place a seemingly unconnected image on top of a textured or screen was very evocative in this piece, I then wanted to emulate something similar in my own work. The below clip is what I managed to accomplish, given my time constraints.

It is a little rough around the edges, but time was against me. I feel it portrays the idea of what I wanted to portray.

Like, yeah, since leaving the book meant that they would forget about it, basing on the fact that Skully seemed to change n become the legend he is now, I can't help but to imagine a former shut-in deciding to accept his letter to Nrc, both to improve himself and met certain someone only to find out that nobody like that had ever attended Nrc, not knowing that they're from the future.
