Learn more about Art for Justice: Bringing the 2026 Contemporary Art Biennale to Goma, DRC (Link in Bio)
The 2026 Contemporary Art Biennale in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo—an event that will do more than celebrate art; it will amplify the voices of a region that has endured great suffering due to global indifference and corporate greed.
Hosted by Mboko Lopiki and The Tunga Art Lab
The Tunga Art Lab links contemporary art performances to current social crises, focused on the tragic situation imposed on the people of the Democratic Republic of Congo for the last 30 years.
Mboko Lopiki is a dance artist from Goma in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He began his dance career as a member of the Hip Hop dance collective “Spirit of the Dance.” In 2015, he initiated the “Maendeleo Dance Project,” which provided workshops aimed at supervising and reintegrating street children into society. Further driven by the desire and passion to learn different forms of contemporary dance, Mboko then joined the “Inuka Dance Company” in 2016 and trained under the Busara Dance Company. He is currently the choreographer, artistic director, and dancer-performer of the “Heartist Dance Company” in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He is a recipient of the Prince Claus Fonds Seed Award 2022.

Ramzi Mallat in conversation with Najlaa El-Ageli and Yahya Zaloom
Artist Ramzi Mallat will be in conversation with Yahya Zaloom, director of P21 Gallery and independent curator Najlaa El-Ageli. The talk will provide insight into the artist's practice and cover themes regarding Fault Lines, his solo exhibition on show at the gallery.
Artist: Ramzi Mallat is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores the socio-political impact of globalisation on notions of identity and self. Mallat draws on a rich tapestry of theological and folkloric history of the Levant region, his work challenging the conventional notion of tradition as a civilisational legacy by revealing a narrative based on a society’s cultural vanguard in the course of a struggle. The artist has been appointed a Trustee for the IMOS Foundation in the United Kingdom and was selected as one of Forbes Middle East’s 30 Under 30 Honorers in 2022. His most recent short documentary has been awarded the 'Official Selection' laurel by the Scarab Film Festival in Dubai, UAE, the Story International Student Film Festival in Cork, Ireland and the Lebanese Independent Film Festival
Panelist: Najlaa El-Ageli founded Noon Arts Projects in 2012 with a mission to bring the best of contemporary art from the MENA region, from both emerging and established artists, and expose it to the world stage. She was selected to be a member of the jury for ‘The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) 2016 and 2019, and sat as member of the board for The London Prints Studio from 2017 to 2020.
Moderator: Yahya Zaloom is Artistic Director of P21 Gallery, a London-based charitable trust promoting contemporary Arab art and culture, committed to creating visibility for Arab artists worldwide. Yahya holds a BA in Mixed Media Fine Arts (University of Westminster, London), an MA in Visual Culture (University of Westminster, London), and currently studying MA in Art Curation by practice (University of Teesside, Middlesbrough).

Hello and welcome to Pillar Clan!
This blog is dedicated to PillarClan, a Warrior Cats clangen art sideblog ran by @martenarts (he/him). The main point of this challenge was to improve my amateur art skills using the Warrior Cat Clan Generator as inspiration for the story, alongside using a TON of references (seriously, I nicknamed this blog "referenceclan"). I'll also be making a couple small creative changes to the events or timeline of events for the sake of a cohesive story.
Please bear with me! I'm not the most talented artist or well-versed on Tumblr, but the clangen blogs are BEAUTIFUL and so inspiring. I couldn't help but try it out!
A trio of kittens trust their beloved leader, Tempeststar, when he claimed they needed to leave PillarClan. They followed their leader blindly, confused by his paranoia and erratic behavior yet loyally trusting their authority figure anyways. Even as he led them into a huge river. The kittens were swept far away by the current, much to the horrors of their clan and ailing leader. Swept miles away from their home, the three kittens must now grow strong enough to make their way back to PillarClan. Moon 1 Prologue - start here!
Table of Contents - Here!
Asks are welcome anytime, whether they be directed at the artist or the character(s).
#pillarasks for asks, moon updates are #pillarmoons, #artisttalks for OOC, more to come as I figure this out!
Commissions available on my Patreon and Ko-Fi! I'm going through some tough times so any donations or commissions would help immensely!

copy and paste from my IG here but look at me uploading to social medias at the same time.
I know this isnt creative on my end but I have no regerts if this entire sketchbook is flowy manes. It is just so much fun. And can we talk about some of my favorite supplies which is what got cropped to smithereens. My favorite things change as I evolve but I have to say that I have a huge appreciation atm for water soluble colored pencils. I bought these caran dache museum aquarelles and I just love the Interesting muted colors and the feel of the pencils and how well they sharpen. I regret that I dont have a darker pink...and that may be a possible purchase in the future. I was having to go back to my inktense pencil. Which I do like the intensity of inktense. They really are super bold and I almost feel like theyre a digital art mimic. Theyre just chunky and I draw so small. The lines they make arent quite delicate enough. The pitt artist pen is really just for activating the watercolor pencil rather than use water. But more control with these brush pens for lineart. The color doesnt exactly matter I just kind of stick with like colors. And then the black pan watercolor in the corner there is the coolest black ever. Its the charcoal in art philosophys vintage pastel set. No matter how many watercolors I buy I keep going back to this set. This black is really like charcoal. It is a matte..like a pastel matte black..I have nothing else like it and I love it for eyes. And ofcourse the cosmo pink is not one Id usually go for but the guy at the art store recommended it and I have not looked back. I think its my most used color for large surfaces. Anyway yes. All my free time right now will otherwise be preoccupied by assassins creed valhalla. Later.

COLLAGE ON VIEW
The Money $how
At Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, 10 April-10 August 2021. The Exhibition takes guests on a tour of late-stage capitalism. Each artist in the exhibition uses collage to unpack ideas about money and its influence on our culture. Artworks speak about Black wealth, immigrant remittances, and how mid-20th century advertising informs present-day attitudes. Artists collage dollar bills into flowers and mine material remnants to tell stories about home economics. MORE
OPENING EVENT Co-curators Frank Juarez, the publisher of Artdose Magazine, and Ric Kasini Kadour, the editor of Kolaj Magazine will host an opening talk on Saturday, April 17, 2020, 5:30-6:30PM CDT. DETAILS
*****************************
Kolaj Magazine, a full color, print magazine, exists to show how the world of collage is rich, layered, and thick with complexity. By remixing history and culture, collage artists forge new thinking. To understand collage is to reshape one's thinking of art history and redefine the canon of visual culture that informs the present.

Artist Talks
Who is this person? Adler Guerrier. He is a Haitian-American artist who resides in Miami, Florida.
What do they do? Guerrier is mainly a Photographer and Visual Artist. A Multi-Media artist who explores the poetics of place and landscape.
What did they talk about? He talked about his usage of photographic observation combined with studio art practicing, absorbing factors like geometric shapes and symbols to manifest the meaning and portrayals within his creations.
Describe their working process? Guerrier has his own eyes absorb whatever urban impressions and history context rests within the scenery like a camera. They would be used as references for mixed-media creations and collages that reels in the audience’s attention to create conversation between humans and art.
Describe their philosophy? He utilizes a variety of materials, the visual inspirations, and the historical and philosophical context deciphered within. All of which are accumulated to create a work of art that conversates between itself and his audience, including himself.
Did they speak well both on presentation and content? Yes. He certainly did.
What new information did you gain? How each and every element of an artwork can hold so much history. Guerrier used that exact technique in his creations to appoint contemporary identity critique to art history. He gave the idea and belief that art can have the potential to tell stories of their own.
What else did they talk about? His collection of art pieces and their exhibitions. He talked about how Word Art and symbols is utilized to become part of the new surface and talk of whatever their message is with its audience.
Quote something of interest?
“I use what I have... that is a particular history... shaped by family... education... migration... neighborhoods...”
IF APPLICABLE... WHAT QUESTION DID YOU ASK? MOST IMPORTANTLY: YOUR THOUGHTS I believed his creations present a mental perfect scale. Guerrier balances between the geometrical details and political context within the surface to reel his audience in. He’s incredible with how he takes in inspiration through his surroundings and applies the history within to share whatever message he intends to profess with his audience.
