This special evening celebration of the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation will offer an opportunity to collect contemporary works while supporting Rush. Artists represented include Dawoud Bey, Renee Cox, Roberto Lugo, Adebunmi Gbadebo, Derrick Adams, Carrie Mae Weems, and Hank Willis Thomas. Join us in person, online, or over the phone to bid. This evening session will begin on April 4th with registration and cocktails at 5 p.m. with the auction of African American Art beginning at 6 p.m. eastern with lot 194.

The Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, established in 1995 ... aims to provide inner-city youth with access to the arts and exhibition opportunities for emerging and underrepresented artists, significantly impacting the landscape for artists of color and emerging talents. Since March is Women’s Month, Rush has also supported numerous prominent women artists of color. With support from a wide network, Rush Education programs annually serve 3,500 students, offering alternatives to high-risk behaviors and enhancing academic performance. Rush exhibits over 50 emerging artists yearly, attracting 12,000 visitors, and providing career opportunities in the arts for young people. Operating galleries in Manhattan and Brooklyn, along with programs in five NYC public schools, Rush fosters artistic inspiration and education in underserved communities.

Ramzi Mallat in conversation with Najlaa El-Ageli and Yahya Zaloom

Artist Ramzi Mallat will be in conversation with Yahya Zaloom, director of P21 Gallery and independent curator Najlaa El-Ageli. The talk will provide insight into the artist's practice and cover themes regarding Fault Lines, his solo exhibition on show at the gallery.

Artist: Ramzi Mallat is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores the socio-political impact of globalisation on notions of identity and self. Mallat draws on a rich tapestry of theological and folkloric history of the Levant region, his work challenging the conventional notion of tradition as a civilisational legacy by revealing a narrative based on a society’s cultural vanguard in the course of a struggle. The artist has been appointed a Trustee for the IMOS Foundation in the United Kingdom and was selected as one of Forbes Middle East’s 30 Under 30 Honorers in 2022. His most recent short documentary has been awarded the 'Official Selection' laurel by the Scarab Film Festival in Dubai, UAE, the Story International Student Film Festival in Cork, Ireland and the Lebanese Independent Film Festival

Panelist: Najlaa El-Ageli founded Noon Arts Projects in 2012 with a mission to bring the best of contemporary art from the MENA region, from both emerging and established artists, and expose it to the world stage. She was selected to be a member of the jury for ‘The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) 2016 and 2019, and sat as member of the board for The London Prints Studio from 2017 to 2020.

Moderator: Yahya Zaloom is Artistic Director of P21 Gallery, a London-based charitable trust promoting contemporary Arab art and culture, committed to creating visibility for Arab artists worldwide. Yahya holds a BA in Mixed Media Fine Arts (University of Westminster, London), an MA in Visual Culture (University of Westminster, London), and currently studying MA in Art Curation by practice (University of Teesside, Middlesbrough).

Este vorba despre o expoziție de artă digitală, care reunește o parte din proiectele artistului 13m10j pe multiple suprafețe digitale în cadrul spațiului DIGITAL:CANVAS\.

13m10j (Marius Jurca) este un artist multidisciplinar, preocupat de conexiunile dintre artă, știință și tehnologie. Folosește numere, sunete și algoritmi pentru a explora complexitatea și estetica fluxului mental personal. Proiectele sale sunt programe sau aplicații interactive, create în relație cu dispozitivele pe care acestea sunt prezentate. În decursul activității sale artistice, a obținut o serie de premii și burse și a participat în numeroase rezidențe artistice, expoziții de grup, festivaluri și bienale de artă, desfășurate la nivel național și internațional. Hello and welcome to Pillar Clan!

This blog is dedicated to PillarClan, a Warrior Cats clangen art sideblog ran by @martenarts (he/him). The main point of this challenge was to improve my amateur art skills using the Warrior Cat Clan Generator as inspiration for the story, alongside using a TON of references (seriously, I nicknamed this blog "referenceclan"). I'll also be making a couple small creative changes to the events or timeline of events for the sake of a cohesive story.

Please bear with me! I'm not the most talented artist or well-versed on Tumblr, but the clangen blogs are BEAUTIFUL and so inspiring. I couldn't help but try it out!

A trio of kittens trust their beloved leader, Tempeststar, when he claimed they needed to leave PillarClan. They followed their leader blindly, confused by his paranoia and erratic behavior yet loyally trusting their authority figure anyways. Even as he led them into a huge river. The kittens were swept far away by the current, much to the horrors of their clan and ailing leader. Swept miles away from their home, the three kittens must now grow strong enough to make their way back to PillarClan. Moon 1 Prologue - start here!

2022 in Review

ARTIST TALK: I have the pleasure to converse with Galia Linn inside her current exhibition at Hamzianpour & Kia THIS Saturday, January 21, 4pm. Known for clay and ceramic installations, mixed media environments and performative collaborations, Linn creates spaces to process traumas, to exorcize deep wounds by giving them space and presence. In her new series Mai 49, Linn brings her sculptural sensibility to two-dimensional works: watercolors paintings textured with salt that are as monumental as they are personal, intimate, and inviting. The paintings capture sites of devastation and the aftermath of war. There is movement on the paper, a sense of momentum in the open skies and backgrounds, that is met with ruins and wreckage.
