• JB has been an entrepreneur for 3 years before he made his debut within the band GOT7. He is well known as the member of the duo band called "JJ Project" working with Jinyoung. Moreover JB has acting experience, he played the leading role in a series called Dream High 2 which was on air in 2012.

• His personality is quiet and honest but straight-forward.

• He is very chic and cool as well as sleak and sexy. But recently we have seen JB in a different light, looking cute with a sense of humour which melts the fans' hearts.

• We can say that JB was born to be an idol. It was his supreme talents combined with outstanding abilities. He can write songs, has a unique sound to his voice and can move with such energy when he dances. JB also used to join B-boy dance with his underground team.

A MAN WHO WAS BORN TO BE THE PERFECT IDOL

Let talk it through first that on this occasion the interview with JB, who is one of the members of the band GOT7, has been done on Q&A session via e-mail. Due to the COVID-19, we have not had a chance to extensively talk to him in person. Although the interview with JB was quite straightforward because of his personality which is quiet and reserved, we could still perceive the real sense of his sincere and honest goodwill towards his fans. This obviously came out through his responses within the e-mail. We at least hope that this interview will help every fan club member who is currently thinking of JB uplift their feelings and spirits. Let's give you an update on JB and his life.

During the COVID-19, what have you been doing?

JB: I did not go out anywhere at all. I spent most of my time watching TV, and also wrote new songs for the safekeeping.

How have you been looking after yourself during these times?

JB: I have been doing exercises and taking some vitamin supplements, I also have been browsing for healthy option menus. If I feel that menu is okay, I would just give it a try. Actually there is quite plenty of delicious healthy food available in the market.

What sort of activities did you do to help yourself when you feel lonely and bored?

JB: When I get bored, I like to read books or play video games. Reading really makes me focus on my own self. The contents in the books help me to open up a whole new world. I also play video games because I think it is so much fun, stress-free and relaxing.

Do you have any special activities that you are now able to do during the COVID-19 which you could not previously do due to your work commitments?

JB: No, I don't have any activities in particular that I couldn't do before. I think when we were in the process of promoting our new album, I did everything that I ever wanted.

With the new album "DYE," how have you seen you and your band grow and develop?

JB: I think each development is different. On the album, I reckon that we have improved our image. I also think our feelings towards the new album are not the same from the previous albums too.

On this album, if you are to choose one song that you like the most, which one would it be and why?

JB: I definitely like the song called Crazy as I wrote it myself. Personally I also like the song called Aura because the melody of the song mekes me feel so relaxed and rejuvenated. I think it is such a beautul song.

On this album, your hair is longer. How do you feel about your new look? What's the feedback from your fan club?

JB: The fact is I had no intention of growing my hair this way, it literally just happened. But it has turned out to be fine and has had a good impact on my image. So l will keep this look for a while and I will surely look after it and keep it styled.

Every time when we launch a new album, I always need to think about what hairstyle I should have to create a new image. Of course, there will be some people who like it and those who don't. But it turns out there are more people who prefer my hairstyle like this which is a relief.

As your work for this album DYE progressed during the COVID-19, can you tell us what differences have you experienced from the previous albums within the normal circumstances? Did you regret that you were unable to meet your fan club like you used to do?

JB: First of all, I have got the feeling that I don't have as much getup and go energy just like when I could meet my fan club.

We, GOT7, think we create songs for our exclusive fanbase. The sound of cheering from them makes us feel so uplifted. We feel that we can do this! And it definitely makes our performances worthwhile.

At this difficult time, we are a little disappointed that we can’t perform in front of our fan club. We really want to see everyone enjoy themselves and have a great time with our own eyes.

What is the first thing you will do when the situation is better?

JB: I want to perform on stage and I also would love to travel.

Can you tell usa little bit about your childhood, what were you like growing up?

JB: I was a mischievous little boy. But I was also reserved.

How were you raised and what kind of parenting style did your parents use?

JB: My parents always believed in me. They gave me the freedom to think and to do things. For them, whatever I did that makes me happy, they were always willing to support as long as it caused no trouble to anyone else.

No matter what I did, they always said to me 'You live your like and seek out your own path, therefore you will need to be responsible for it.’

Now I am older, they still believe whatever I do there must have been a reason why I choose to do it. It has always been this way

When you were young, what was your dream?

JB: The fact is that I never liked to stand out from the crowd. So when I was young, I always dreamed of living a quiet life, kind of like a slow-paced stream.

If you were not a singer or pop star, what do you think you would be doing now?

JB: If l am not a pop star, I think I would probably help my family farming. Perhaps right now I might be going to the market to sell the fruits and vegetables that we harvested.

If you can choose just one thing that an idol must have, what would it be?

JB: I am not so sure. I myself never thought 'Because I am the idol, I need to do something in particular', I think there are no special qualities required. For me, I only want to express myself through dancing and singing.

For you, which concert was the most memorable?

JB: The one that stood out the most was probably our first performance in America. We performed in an arena which held over 10,000 people. At that time, there were a lot of Korean fans living in America and also fans from other countries. I was amazed by how much they really enjoyed our show.

When I thought 'Why do the people like us this much?' and ‘Why do they choose to come to see us?’ This made me realise and become determined to make the show more worthwhile than what we original planned.

Can you tell us what is your opinion of the other GOT7 band members?

JB: We have the same feeling that we all are caring and treating one another as friends, brothers and family members. All of us have the same goal to be better in what we do. We always encourage and support each other to move forward and develop to be better artists.

I myself have a clear aim to become a talented artist who can write songs to tell meaningful stories to help inspire the audience.

What would you like to tell your fans who are missing you so much and are awaiting your future concerts in Thailand?

JB: We want to apologise that we were unable to perform the concert in Thailand. But next time we will give Thailand the best performance yet. Please do wait for us. Love and miss you all.

"Are you absolutely sure about this?" Said the man to her right. Since yesterday he had been asking constantly if she hadn't changed her mind. If had been, after all, just a joke to lighten her mood. He never thought she would take it seriously, but then again, it was Starfire he was talking to. Her naiveté was overall cute, but in this case, it had gone a tad bit too far.

"Of course I'm sure. I don't know why I had never thought about it." Said the alien girl walking down the street to the tattoo shop, while her feyoncé walked next to her. Although with how fast she was going, it seemed that he was chasing her, more than accompanying her. The more she walked, the more determined she seemed. "I have always wanted to get a tattoo, and yesterday your idea sounded great"

"Kori, it was only a joke, you know that right? You were sad because of the audition and just thought I could make you laugh." He pleaded. To him, it was the stupidest idea of all. A star on fire? Really? Talk about bad puns. His plan had definitely backfired. And nothing in the world could stop his girlfriend now.

"I know it was a joke, but I do not care. I fount it funny, but a great idea as well.” Starfire finally slowed down her pace, letting Dick catch up. He took the chance to take hold of her hand, and looked at her.

“It was just something in the moment. I think you should think it more carefully. Think before you ink, no?” Nightwing thought he was finally getting through her, bur he regretted that thought when he caught glance of her sad stare.

“I...I think it’s a good idea. I was having a bad day yesterday and...and you are always there for me... and...” And she was crying. Great job, idiot, he thought to himself. He acted quickly before people in the street realised what was happening, or worse, who they were, and hugged her tightly.

“I’m so sorry, I...didn’t realise this was so important to you. I thought something as dumb as my idea wouldn’t make for a good tattoo. It’s kind of an important choide to make, and I didn’t want you to regret it later.” He rested his head on top of hers, while caresing her back with his left hand, and the back of her head with his right.

“It’s not like that, not at all.” They separated a little bit so they could see each other eye to eye, but still close enough for her hands to cross behind his neck, and his resting at the small of her back. “You are always there for me, making me laugh, pampering me, making me feel special. Yesterday was a perfect example of that: you cooked my favourite meal and bought me my favourite ice-cream. You took in count my like for bad puns and made a simple joke about something that worried me for so long.” At this point, her emotions had taken the best and she showed a bright red blush, that she tried to conceal by looking at his chest. “I had thought it carefully, because it was the best way I could summarize how I see you. You are the one that keeps me going, and the one that cheers me up, and helps me whenever I have a problem I can’t solve.” She finally looked up, smiling as bright as ever, meking Dick’s heart skip a beat. “But if you don’t think it’s a good idea, then-”

“It’s a great idea! Really! I mean it! I..." Richard paused to look for the right words. In doing so, he closed his eyes to concentrate, while Kori only got closer to him, until her nose touched his chin, which woke him up from his trance. He abruptly opened his eyes and she giggled at his response, but all he could think was how beautiful she looked with her smile beaming, even if there were small tears still on the corners of her eyes.

Dick composed himself and continued. "If I had ever known it mattered so much to you, I would have never questioned it. You also keep me in check, and when I'm doubting myself, it's you I come to for support. I just didn't realise that yesterday meant so much for you. That a simple pun could mean that much." He stopped himself to plant a kiss on her forehead, then taking her hand, and hiding her the next two blocks to the tattoo shop.

About half an hour later

"So how's it going? In to much pain?" He asked as he brought her a banana frappuchino. She was nervous before starting, but he had thought a small cold beverage to fight the heat could help distract her. He had now found her lying on her front, while the tattooist worked in her back.

"Not at all. I barely feel anything. But then again, I'm reciting all of Ariana Grande's songs." They both paused to laugh, but Star stopped quickly after the tattoo artist resumed her work. "I was just getting to Sweetener and thought of you, because you know, you make my life so sweet" she said as she winked.

Richard smiled at her and kneeled down to help her with the drink. He put the straw on her lips, and after she had taken a sip, removed it and gave her a peck on them.

"Don't worry, I'm almost done, and you won't even get to breathin." Said the artist after wiping of the excess of ink. "She's almost yours."

"So, I was thinking, maybe I should get one too. Something important like you." Both girls lifted her eyes.

"Are you sure? You won't regret it?" Said Starfire. Her tone was both serious and yet playful somehow, almost teasing him. He let her take another sip, before he took one of his own cup. Only she could make a playful tone that could send chills down his spine, while also caring for him.

"Positive, but I won't let you know what it is until it's done." Said Richard, too in a playful tone. He looked at the artist hopeful. "Could it be today?"

"Sure, when I'm done with her, you are up. Although I don't really get what's important about a star on fire." She said with a confused face

"It's kind of an inside joke. Also, could you add yesterday's date?" Said the alien, while looking at her feyoncé in the eyes. She had asked for the star to be blue and green, both of their eyes colors, symbolizing their union. It would last forever for them, just like stars in the night sky.

"I guess I'll see you two after a couple of minutes then." Dick said after Star took her last sip, and went back to the reception.

Another half hour later

Kori kept admiring her tattoo on the mirror. Truly, her shoulder blade was the perfect spot for the little star on fire. Who cared if some directors or photographers didn't like it? This was her body and her choice. But the sentiment was for both her and Richard.

"So, what do you think?" Star turned to see her boyfriend's forearm tattooed with a small lock pick, a date beneath it. Both she recognized well: the lockpick that he had used to free her of the cuffs she had landed with on earth, and the date they met. She couldn't keep it in anymore and hugged him with all the love she had. Of course, that was more than enough for squeeze all the air out of him. She soon realised he couldn't breathe properly and let him go.

Dick had to take only one or two breaths to feel better, as he had gone used to Star's big hugs by now. He saw her corcened face and eased her worries. "I feel great, really. Look at this." He offered his arm to her so that she could examine it closer. While she observed every line, the tattoist got closer.

"You two are weird, but I like that." Both laughed at the statement, considering from where each came, and all their history together, weird was one word to describe them. "May I?" Said the shop owner, grabbing a camera behind the desk. "It's only the tattoos, I won't show your faces. It's only for the wall" she said while pointing at a wall filled with all of her artworks.

While the pictures were taken, they thought about each other and the step they would be taking soon. Both felt more ready than ever. They both meant too much for the other. Maybe so much that not even a hundred tattoos could represent, but the moments that had chosen to engrave, would last forever. After all, it's not to hard to make some choices when you have the one you love beside you.

Tomm Moore's films are extremely dear to me. Aside from the beautiful meanings and execution of the film, there's also....Celtic folklore has been my passion since I was 13. I am a traditional watercolor artist,my dream was to illustrate books on folklore . As I kept drawing,I got more obsessed with details,and trying harder and harder to emulate near-realistic styles like Mappa,and failing to achieve it, and feeling horrible about myself. Then around this time Wolfwalkers came out. And watching it,I remembered what I wanted to achieve in my art all along,and reminded me of the beauty of it all. No shade on Mappa,or any realistic style ,they have their own charm,but Tom Moore's style is what inspired me to remember what I wanted all along,and reminded me that stylizing was valid,that I didn't need to meke every detail Perfect™

In short the films have been a big inspiration for me that helped me regain confidence in the things I do, and to keep creating what I want to regardless of whether it's realistic or not (which is honestly very impactful, because my family and irl acquaintances seem to be drunk on realism,and as much as I try not to be disheartened,at that time,I was)

And I just...I can't put it in words, I'm just shattered

// These are my current final post cards - with room for improvement and deeper research. I do love all the pieces I have chosen and definitely think the main theme is New Zealand inspired work, whether that be New Zealand culture, New Zealand classics or Maaori history. I think there are also pieces which could be controversial so to look deeper into those pieces may be interesting.
