Hi Alice!! Hope you’re doing well and taking care of yourself 💜
I had some random thoughts pop in my head: what kind of music do u think Lloyd would listen to? Like what would he listen to running errands or working out
Another random thought: what’s his self care routine like? We all know how much our boy loves to pamper himself and keep his appearance up 😝 you don’t have to answer if u don’t want! I also just want to say I love your work and you have a gift for writing 💓💓 keep up the amazing work
Lloyd's self care routine beings with his skin. He's not particularly spendy in this department, but he always prioritizes his routine. Lloyd Hansen does not miss a day of skin care - ever. He uses Cetaphil for a cleanser because it's hypoallergenic. This is purely for practical purposes, since he goes through a lot of it. He washes his face every morning, again after his workout, and double cleanses with an oil, and then Cetaphil to rinse it off, at night.
With moisturizer, he's more picky. He likes the Blu Atlas because of the woodsy scent and their high quality ingredients. Unlike the cleanser, which is basically fancy soap, his moisturizer is going to stay on and permeate his skin for hours. So, this is where he spends his money. He uses an eye cream from Blu Atlas, and wishes he'd have started using it earlier.
Lloyd wears facial sunscreen every single day, and makes sure to reapply on the days he golfs. He keeps regular spray on sunscreen in the golf cart for the rest of his body.
He also uses a Niacinamide serum and vitamin C serum in the morning. In the evening, he applies the AlphaRet overnight cream before bed. Lloyd has no intention of wrinkling early, particularly not when he's dating someone so much younger than him.
Also, he's not hesitant to do some dermaplaning, microneedling, or a facial peel now and then. Lloyd sees his dermatologist twice a year for a skin check and preventative care.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Lloyd’s taste in music is as follows:
Rock
Classical
Country
Rhythm & Blues
Hip Hop / Rap
First is rock music. He grew up listening to R.E.M., Guns N’ Roses, Nirvana, KISS, and the Beastie Boys. This is the genre he gravitates towards the most. 90s rock is his favorite era, followed closely by 80s rock. For that decade, his favorites are: Queen, Lover Boy, Depeche Mode, and Bruce Springsteen. In the genre, his taste spans a wide variety of artists from ZZ Top to the Rolling Stones and all the way into more pop influenced bands like Cheap Trick and The Outfield.
Lloyd is also a huge fan of classical music.
He’d never willingly share this fact, but it’s been a coping mechanism of his for a long time. His study hall teacher used to play it during class and he found it really helped him calm down and concentrate. The softer sounds of composers like Bach, Mozart, and Debussy are among his favorites. With time, his taste expanded into underrated composers like Erich Korngold, Alexander Scriabin, and Ottorino Respighi. In terms of minutes listened, classical music is one of Lloyd’s core genres.
He also enjoys country music. Like his taste for classical music, he sometimes prefers to hide this one. Being around Zach, who also loves country music, tends to bring it out more. His favorites are George Strait, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks, LeAnn Rimes, and Alan Jackson. He also likes some of the older artists like Ronnie Milsap, Charley Pride, Glen Campbell, Merle Haggard and Eddy Arnold.
Another genre he listens to is R&B. This stems from being alive in the 90’s. Boys II Men released bangers, okay? Once you heard them on the radio you went looking for more. He likes Alicia Keys, Montell Jordan, Rihanna and Marvin Gaye. His taste in Rap and Hip Hop was developed more in college. It was the popular workout soundtrack of the time and his college football program played it in the weights room. He mostly likes artists like DMX, Eminem, Nas, OutKast, Ice Cube, and Tupac.
Finally, here are some of Lloyd’s favorite songs.

Good evening Nickie!
Been a MASSIVE fan of your art for since EVER. Not to confuse music preference with stellar fashion but you seem the cowboy enthusiast; any country music recommendations for beginners? 🤠
Awww, thank you so much omg!! 🥺💗 and I actually really love country music!
A lot of it depends on the sound you're looking for, cause there's like at least 50 sub-genres that fall under the country label, and some of them were more popular during certain periods than others
Personally, I prefer a lot of the sounds that were popular in older (Pre-2001) country, so some of my favorite artists from the 40's-60's are:
Hank Williams
Johnny Western
Patsy Cline
Don Gibson
Kitty Wells
Marty Robbins
Eddy Arnold
Tammy Wynette
Willie Nelson
Moving into the 70's, country kind of starts to change a bit from that old traditional folksy-country sound into something that has a few more contemporary rock and even pop influences, so some of my favorite artists from the 70's-80's are:
Merle Haggard
Linda Ronstadt (also check out this song too)
Buck Owens
Dolly Parton
Gary Stewart
Glen Campbell (also check out this and this song, bc these are all tied for my faves of his lol)
Terri Gibbs
Johnny Lee
George Strait
Shenandoah
And then heading into the 90's, some of my faves are:
Suzy Bogguss
Brooks & Dunn (this one too)
Then there's a few modern country/americana acts that I REALLY love. These are the ones I've found to have a lot of reverence for the roots of the genre, so their sound is a little older than most contemporary country acts:
Charley Crockett
Yola
Logan Ledger
Pokey LaFarge
Sierra Ferrell
The Cactus Blossoms
Bella White
The Steeldrivers
Chris Stapleton
And last but certainly not least is the gateway drug of a man who got me into country music at all, Johnny Cash. I've been listening to him since I was in middle school, back when I used to say that I loathed everything about country music except for him. Johnny Cash just has a way of breaking genre barriers for people, even tho his sound was and for the most part always had been very traditionally old school country. He gets his own section cause there's way too many good songs that I implore you check out, including (but certainly not limited to):
I Got Stripes
Cocaine Blues
I Still Miss Someone
Jackson
Cry, Cry, Cry
Ring of Fire
It Ain't Me, Babe
Sunday Morning Coming Down
Song of the Patriot (not a patriotic person but this is one of my Alfred playlist songs lol)
Goodbye, Little Darlin'
ANYWAYS I hope I didn't overwhelm you! I just really love country music and I think it gets such a bad rap, so I go a little crazy the few times that people show interest in exploring the genre a little more, lol.
#asks#moosic#all of those hyperlinks are songs btw so click it and you can see what my top rec for that artist is#but like dont be limited to those pics it was hard to choose just one for them so if u wanna explore those artists#i fully and enthusiastically reccomend that u do

I need to listen to more classic country. That's my dad's favorite kind of music; I'm convinced he knows every single classic country song that has ever been made 😂. I think his favorite artist is Loretta Lynn. I know a handful of our songs, but I'm definitely going to try to listen to more of her music.
I listened to Elvis' country album in its entirety, and it has some amazing songs on it. I think it sounds more like his usual work than classic country music, if that makes sense, but it's still really good. These songs were the best ones I found:
Can you recommend me some other good classic country artists to get me started? You don't have to give me that many to start with- just a handful. 🥺🙏
Ok, so you’re doing good with Loretta and Elvis. Let’s see, then we have Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, George Jones, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and Waylon Jennings. Then if 80s country interests you, go for The Judds, Reba McEntire, Dwight Yoakam…shoot, my list is endless.

SEPTEMBER 15 - 21, 2024
What kind of music do you listen to?
Old country. I'll listen to pretty much anything, Colton's got a vast taste in music and Shawn's got some pretty cool artists he listens to, too, so I like to think I'm pretty diverse in what I listen to... but also, when I have my choice, it's just old country. Johnny, Willie, Kris, Hank, Merle, George, give me the classics, give me the guys who knew how to write a song, how to put together words. You will not catch me at a social function in which Family Tradition comes on where I am not yelling the words, beer in hand as though it's a religion I must adhere to. And mark my words, we will be dancing to Willie Nelson at the wedding at least once.

Lacy J. Dalton Releases Inspirational Song, “Summerland”
Singer-songwriter and outlaw original, Lacy J. Dalton, has finally recorded one of her most personal and poignant songs, “Summerland,” which is available today on all major streaming services in association with StarVista Music. Originally written for Dalton’s mother to bring her comfort as she was dying, the track carries an emotional and inspirational message, brimming with her trademark grit and a stirring mandolin solo. Although Lacy has performed the song for more than 17 years, she has never released it until now. M Music & Musicians Magazine premiered the song earlier today, and fans can now stream “Summerland” HERE. “I wrote this song for my mother when she was dying so she wouldn’t be afraid,” Lacy reveals, “and I got to sing it to her before she passed and again at her memorial. Since then it has helped a number of people. Most recently we had a friend who was passing and she listened to it every day until she died, and it gave her comfort.” Dalton signed with CBS Records in 1979 as an outlaw country artist. She hit the Top 20 that year with “Crazy Blue Eyes” and amassed a total of 16 Top 20 songs. More recently, she released the single “Devil By A Different Name,” addressing the many issues going on in the world and reminding us that we aren’t all that different. Lacy J. Dalton recently celebrated the 40th Anniversary of her hit signature single “16th Avenue.” Written by Thom Schuyler (Dalton, Kenny Rogers, Michael Martin Murphy), the lyrics, “God bless the boys who make the noise on 16th Avenue,” gave musical dreamers from around the world a true understanding of the music industry by showing them the significance of Nashville’s Music Row and that is where dreams could come true. Although things are different today, Lacy J. Dalton’s “16th Avenue” continues to offer hope to every songwriter or entertainer who has a dream of being heard and a place to go to chase it! Dalton has received several notable awards over the years including a certified Platinum record as the only female duet on Willie Nelson’s album, ‘Half Nelson.’ She was also awarded the highest award from the boards of Strictly Country Magazine and the Spirit Awards (one of only 4 times in 25 years the award was given out) for her independent CD ‘Last Wild Place Anthology.’ Most recently she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Josie Awards – the largest independent music awards show in the country. Lacy J. Dalton’s Upcoming Tour Dates: FEB 08 – Sun City Lincoln Hills / Lincoln, Calif. FEB 10 – El Campanil Theater / Antioch, Calif. FEB 11 – Private Show / Walnut Creek, Calif FEB 16 – Piper’s Opera House / Virginia City, Nev. APR 06 – Salinas Rodeo / Salinas, Calif. JUL 05 – Mammoth Lakes, Calif. SEP 21 – Starbright Theater / Las Vegas, Nev. SEP 23 – CPAC Community Performance & Art Center / Green Valley, Ariz. SEP 24 – Elgin Community Club / Elgin, Ariz. About Lacy J. Dalton: First hitting the Country Top-20 in 1979 with “Crazy Blue Eyes,” Dalton was one of the most successful female vocalists of the format during the 80s with the CMA-nominated anthem “16th Avenue,” as well as hits like “Takin’ It Easy,” “Everybody Makes Mistakes,” “Hillbilly Girl With The Blues,” and “Black Coffee.” During her career, she has collaborated with such Country Music Hall of Fame members as Bobby Bare, Glen Campbell, Willie Nelson, and George Jones. She toured with outlaws like Hank Williams Jr. at a time when it was very unusual for a woman to do so. She also toured for a long period of time with Willie Nelson and was the only female on his ‘Half Nelson’ album, which also included duets with Ray Charles, Merle Haggard, Carlos Santana, and Neil Young. Her most recent recorded work is the four-song EP ‘Scarecrow’ which is now available on all streaming music sites, and her single, “Devil By A Different Name.” In November, her very first studio recording, “The Jill Croston Album,” was made available for streaming for the first time since it was originally released in 1978. Dalton is a 2017 inductee of the North American Country Music Association International Hall of Fame. For more information, visit lacyjdalton.org and follow Lacy on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
