BURNED UP

Vent Art from 2023, is still relevant because I'm back falling into that corner of my mind... sort of. I'm currently not exactly feeling burnout but because of irl issues that struck me all together in a short time, it left me with a similar low-motivation feeling to keep resuming my work.

And well, these times of the year are usually the fav spot for it to lurk on many creative minds so I thought about sharing it!

I want these words not to be used as an excuse for pity but as reassurance that... you are not alone in that feeling. Yeah, your mind will want to trick you and say you are alone, but you are not.

And when looking back over your shoulder to all those struggling like you, I wish you find their words and fight inspirational. Sit alongside the bonfire and do not set yourself on fire, believing the pain will go faster in that way.

The pain won't fade in an instant but you know? We can roast some marshmallows together! Count your blessings... or find them in the small sweet things.

these days only a few fantasy books stand truly unique, most just seem to be following very strict writing styles and filling in the same plot points, maybe its because fantasy has been dominated by usamerican and european writers who tend to see the world in a very lineal way and who crave immediacy, these authors are honestly scared to "break the rules" (there are no rules in art imo) in terms of time-space and such because most of their readers will get mad if they dont understand everything the series stands for in 60 pages or less

In actual art order of things: I finished moving and back-upping my old art folders from 2021-2023 (gosh, all of them together toom like 20 gigas???), I updated the year for my usual watermark and I set, between my usual art folders for this year (I like to keep separated art that's for trades/collabs and giftart from my personal illustrations) one folder dedicated to gathering all WIP files I left half there and/or think are worth reworking/throwing color to...

... and there are like +50 files, peeps. 50 FILES IN 3 YEARS WTF

It looks nothing too big, but if I consider that from every 10 files, there are 5 that gather BETWEEN LAYERS of ideas for sketches and sequential artworks ranging from 7 to 12 sketches...

I don't usually finish each one: a great percentage is discarded but still... lots of WIPs hahaha

Like I said, many are for artworks of character interaction/mute storytelling (is how I like it), a pair correspond to comic ideas that need to be formated (the most BORING and long process ugh) while another part is character studies, ship art and OC references that need update/lack formatting and text.

When people ask me how I can keep making art over the years this is the true trick: I just hoard WIPs permanently and grab from that pile. You'll never know and the artwork's idea is from 5 years ago except if I say so HAHAHA

Amistades, solo para recordarles que Rooibos Lives son una recopilación de pequeñas historias de mis personajes en diferentes situaciones. No siguen en si una historia lineal. Lo lineal seria como la historia de fondo de cada personaje que los hacen lo que son (su personalidad,infancia,etc...)

Pero En si las historias son como oneshots de fanfics (igualmente los audios, los audios son historias en diferentes situaciones, por ejemplo "Amor agridulce" es una historia "El sustituto" es otra, no tienen nada que ver la una con la otra.

Expectativas de Amor, es al igual una de las muchas Mini historias de mis personajes. Un Oneshot donde Doppio y William están en una relación y tienen un problema como pareja. Mi objetivo es hacer una mini historia con un mensaje positivo sobre las relaciones sentimentales.

Que ya casi se acabe esa mini historia no significa que Todo Rooibos lives acabará. Eso nunca.

Tal vez Rooibos Lives sería mejor si fuese una sola historia lineal pero Para serles sincera, eso me limita mucho y prefiero la libertad de decidir y crear muchas historias que una sola.

Además es mejor para mi tomando en cuenta mi vida como adulta y todo lo que tengo que hacer.

Ficbinding - A5 Heft Teil 2

So, wir haben im ersten Teil den Satz unserer Fic gemacht und erfolgreich gedruckt. Jetzt wird aus dem Papierstapel ein Heft!

Ihr braucht:

Ein Lineal (30 cm reichen)

Eine Schneidmatte (oder einen alten Pizzakarton)

Ein Skalpell oder Cuttermesser mit frischer Klinge

Einen Blestift

4 Büroklammern

Eine Schere

Eine Nähnadel

ca 40 cm Faden oder Zwirn - Ich benutze hier zwei Fäden Stickgarn

Den Ausdruck

Ein Cover aus Pappe oder festem Papier A4, ca 120 - 180 gr

Als erstes faltet ihr alle Seiten in der Mitte. Den Falz ruhig mit dem Nagel nachfahren. Danach alle Seiten in der richtigen Reihenfolge ineinander legen.

Genauso mit dem Cover verfahren. Wenn euer Drucker so dickes Papier bedrucken kann, könnt ihr euch da natürlich auch ausleben!

Cover und Seiten übereinander legen und unten oder oben aufstoßen und mit den vier Büroklammern fixieren. Mit dem Lineal (oder nach Augenmaß) im mittleren Blatt die Löcher für die Bindung markieren.

Mit der Nähnadel die Löcher stechen. Ich lege dafür das Heft an die Tischkante und steche nach unten in die Luft. Ruhig etwas mit der Nadel wackeln, um das Loch etwas zu vergrößern.

Optional könnt ihr den Faden mit einem Teelicht wachsen, wenn ihr keinen Zwirn benutzt. Das macht den Faden etwas wiederstandfähiger.

Den Faden einfädeln und wie folgt durch alle Lagen nähen:

Von außen durchs untere Loch nach innen

Durch das mittlere Loch nach außen

Durch das obere Loch zurück nach innen

Durch das mittlere Loch nach außen

Ihr näht quasi eine Acht und habt dann beide Enden auf der Rückseite.

Für diesen Schritt kann man die Büroklammern auch noch dran lassen.

Das Heft umdrehen und einen ziemlich strammen Doppelt- oder Dreifachknoten machen. Das ist mit einer Hand etwas tricky, aber vielleicht habt ihr da noch jemanden, der*die euch kurz hilft.

Den Knoten festziehen und ca. 2 cm entfernt abschneiden. Auch hier könnt ihr den Faden natürlich länger lassen und noch etwas daran festknoten.

Wenn ihr jetzt das Zine zuklappt, seht ihr, dass die inneren Seiten länger als die äußeren sind. Das könnt ihr entweder so lassen oder mit Lineal und Cutter den Überstand abschneiden. Dafür ruhig mehrfach schneiden und nicht mit einem Zug versuchen durch alle Lagen zu kommen. Idealerweise macht ihr das auf einer Schneidmatte oder einem alten Pizzakarton.
