I’ve been waiting for this moment for a few weeks now... if you told me when all of this started that life would be like this I wouldn’t believe you. But I have kind of figured out a way to keep smiling and creating opportunities of joy. People will definitely try to take your joy when they see you smiling. I definitely think their something to be said about acknowledging when something doesn’t quite feel right. But their doesn’t have to be so much judgement. I am being who I am and doing what I love. I am super thankful of my artistry and that others find value in that. Today I am start my second session of online classes for youth teaching Anime Art. . . . I still have a few openings for the afternoon session. I think being in relationships with others and developing youths confidence via the arts education is so important. Even if the ones I teach don’t find a path in arts. It’s a positive tool for creativity and self expression that can be used at any stage of life. ~ PRIVATE AND SEMI-PRIVATE LESSONS ~

Private & Semi-Private Art Lessons • Type of class: fine art • Description: Artist and educator Laurie Brenden offers private and semi-private art lessons in the fine arts including watercolors, drawing, mixed media and much more. A private lesson is for one student. Semi-private lessons are for two students; the students can be siblings, family members, friends, etc. These lessons are available by appointment only and spaces are limited! Please contact the instructor directly for more information or to sign up. • Ages: 6 years to adult • Class Term: September 23 to November 15, 2019 • Day & Time: by appointment ONLY! • Class fee: Private -> $90.00 (for 6, 1 hour sessions) + $20 materials fee;   Semi-Private -> $66.00 per student (for 6, 1 hour sessions) + $20 materials fee (*Supply fee depends on media and unit chosen.)

Kids Can Draw: Chibi Monsters • Type of class: drawing • Description: Manga is a Japanese style of comics; one popular aspect of manga is the chibis which are tiny, and often cute. Full of personality, style, and pizzazz we will learn how to draw chibi creatures, popularly known as “pocket monsters”. Each student will be encouraged to develop his or her own anime/manga characters and unique style of drawing. Skill Level, Beginner/Intermediate: No prior experience required. Small group instruction. All supplies are included. • Ages: 8 to 12 • Dates: September 24 – November 12, 2019 (8 weeks) • Day & Time: Tuesdays from 4:30 to 6:30 pm • Class fee: $71 + $25 materials fee

Kids Can Paint: Expressionism • Type of class: painting/mixed media • Description: Expressionism is exciting paintings full of emotions. In this class, students will explore the artwork of six famous expressionists, and then use their works as a springboard to explore art and creativity. Each artist will have an “inspiration” piece based on their style, use of color, etc. However, each student will be encouraged to explore his or her own artistic style, and create their own unique work or art. Skill Level, Beginner/Intermediate: No prior experience required. Small group instruction. All supplies are included. • Ages: 8 to 12 • Dates: September 19 to November 14, 2019 (8 weeks)        NO CLASS 10/31 • Day & Time: Thursdays from 4:30 to 6 pm • Class fee: $71 + $30 materials fee
