Private Art Lessons for Spring 2021

COVID Guidelines:

You have to sign both a Auburn Program Waiver, and a Covid-19 Waiver.  

All students must wear masks at all times, and social distance as much as possible.

Students will be encouraged to practice proper handwashing techniques.

Students will have to transport their own supplies back and forth to class.

Students will be dropped off at the front door, and will be escorted out of the building by myself at the end of class.

Students will need to bring their own drink or water bottle; they will not have access to use the water fountain unless it is to refill their own bottle.

Students will not attend if they have been feeling ill or have been exposed to anyone with COVID.

~Private & Semi-Private Art Lessons

• Type of class: fine art

• Description: Artist and educator Laurie Brenden offers private and semi-private art lessons in the fine arts including watercolors, drawing, mixed media and much more. A private lesson is for one student. Semi-private lessons are for two students; the students can be siblings, family members, friends, etc. These lessons are available by appointment only and spaces are limited! Please contact the instructor directly for more information or to sign up.

• Ages: 6 years to adult

• Class Term: March 18 to May 28, 2021

• Day & Time: by appointment ONLY!• Class fee: Private -> $115.00 - price includes a $25 materials fee (for 6, 1 hour sessions; Semi-Private -> $91.00 per student - price includes a $25 materials fee (for 6, 1 hour sessions) (*Supply fee depends on media and unit chosen.)

Kids Can Draw: Sea Creatures

• Type of class: drawing + some mixed media

• Description: Dive into fun! While the weather outside might be frightful, we’ll be splashing into making ocean creatures. Learn to draw using simple shapes and proportion. We will be covering sea inhabitants including: sharks, whales, turtles, dolphins and more. Skill Level, Beginner/Intermediate: No prior experience required. Small group instruction. $97 (price includes a $25 materials fee).  All supplies are included.

• Ages: 8 to 12

• Dates: January 7 to February 25, 2020 (8 weeks)

• Day & Time: Tuesdays from 4:30 to 6:30 pm

• Class fee: $97.00 - price includes a $25 materials fee

Kids Can Paint: Pop Art

• Type of class: painting/mixed media

• Description: Burst into Pop Art! Pop Art is an eye-opening celebration of pop culture. Students will explore the artwork of six famous pop artists, and then use their works as a springboard to explore art and creativity. Each artist will have and “inspiration” piece based on their style, use of color, etc. However, each student will be encouraged to explore his or her own artistic style and create their own unique work of art. Small group instruction. All supplies are included. 

• Ages: 8 to 12

• Dates: January 9 to February 27, 2020 (8 weeks)

• Day & Time: Thursdays from 4:30 to 6 pm

• Class fee: $112 - price includes a $25 materials fee

Spring 2015 Private & Semi-Private Art Lessons

Registration is now open! If you are interested in taking Private Art Lessons or Semi-Private Art Lessons with me during the Spring 2015 term, please let me know ASAP!

IMPORTANT:  Please note that with lessons starting AFTER Spring Break, I won't know my schedule until after March 30th.  I may only be able to place you temporarily at a certain time and date and then once the dust settles, I'll be able to tell you when we can meet for the rest of the term.

Description:   Artist and educator, Laurie Brenden offers private and semi-private art lessons in addition to her group classes each quarter.  A private lesson is for one student.  Semi-private lessons are for two students; the students can be siblings, family members, friends, etc.  These lessons are available by appointment only and spaces are limited! Class Term:  March 30 to May 22, 2015

Ages:  6 years and up

Days & Times: by appointment only

Price:  $13.00 an hour + supplies (private) or $10.00 an hour per student + supplies (semi-private).  If you provide ALL of your own supplies you do not have to pay a supply fee.

Media:  All fine art media except traditional oils (I do water based oils).

Supply Fees:  Supplies run $15.00 to $30.00 depending on the unit and the media chosen.

Important Information:  You MUST contact me first!  If you just register that does NOT guarantee you a spot!  Remember that returning students will have first priority; students who have been with me the longest get placed first. Then if I have any room I will place other returning students and new students.  I have already been fielding a lot of calls from new people who are interested in private & semi-private lessons, so if you are interested let me know as soon as you can! You can either call or e-mail me.

The top 3 times and days that work best for you. (I can’t guarantee that you will get in on of your first choices.

Just a reminder that not only do I have to operate within your schedule, I do have other commitments and a part-time tutoring job, and we also have to work with the Dempsey’s calendar and available space.
