RWBY Rosegarden ARTSTYLE Transformation! Challenge 🌹Art Collab with JC

Another day, another glorious collab project with m’daikon buddy @jealouscartoonist completed!

This time, we tackled the “Art-style Transformation Challenge” as I believe it’s called.

For those unaware, this challenge involves two artists creating a sketch in their respective art styles that the other artist has to finish render in their own painting style.

I rendered JC’s original sketch of our golden little prince while she rendered my sketch of his lovely silver-eyed rose.

LittleMissSquiggles’ Summary of Art 2023

Honestly folks, I don't got much to say about this year. This might just be my shortest art summary to date since I don't have much to comment on this year's events.

2023 was a general mix of highs and lows but overall, not a bad year. You could say that this was the year I was more work-oriented.

I focused more on work especially during the early half of this year, between January and July and therefore didn't spend much time on personal projects; specifically 3D. That being said, I did end up getting back up to my art. Since I've been more focused on 3D for the past two years, I chose this year to get back into my 2D art doing illustrative work since I missed it.

More than that, I took this year to spend some well needed time improving my drawing skills, using tools and techniques from my 3D workflow in an attempt to improve my illustrative work and needless to say, I think it worked out great, even if the end results wasn't much.

Some squiggly good accomplishments I achieved in 2023:

Started the year employed and while I had to juggle two job opportunities which had its fair share of ups and downs in more ways than one, at least it allowed me the chance to earn the funds I needed to obtain my new workstation: a Lenovo Ideacentre 5 Gaming PC.

Learned about the almighty power of networking and remote desktops thanks to my contract job which allowed to me to transform my current setup into one that fully connects and maximizes the full use of all the devises in my arsenal. Basically I figured out how to connect my previous laptop to my new PC so now I work with a setup where my laptop acts as a third monitor for my PC while I'm able to access all my files from my laptop from my PC. Ontop of that, I also learnt how to connect my PC to my Ipad Mini, not just for transferring files for art but for also using it as a proxy computer device to remote into my main PC workstation. This may not seem like a big deal to most but for someone who didn't know a thing about most of this stuff up until this year, it makes a huge difference to this squiggle meister.

Gained a new four-legged member to the squiggle meister family household. A playfully mischievous yet adorable Husky-mix pup fittingly named Alaska or the "Wee Las" as I like to call her.

Experimented a lot with my art this year and while I may not have shared all of the fruits of my labour to social media, I have been making quite a few strides. ---- I spent the last couple of years pushing my social media presence and while I have benefitted from it from time to time, I missed out on just taking some time to myself; getting back to indulging in other activities that brought me joy; particularly the ones that involve truly honing my craft.

I hope to maintain this type of vibe moving forward towards the new year.

Even if my social media activity won't be as frequent as previous years, I do hope that those who have been following and supporting me and my work over years still continue to do so, even if it's to simply just check in from time to time.

To conclude my post, as always, I'm wishing everyone all the very, very best in their respective lives and daily endevours for the upcoming new year.

The Riot I Have Become (Kiribaku)

Inspired by this beautiful yet sad piece of art made by @exewolfartist.

Eijirou Kirishima has always been wanting to be a hero just like his idol, the Crimson Riot. He’s always been exited and manly to do hero work in UA High School, but deep inside, his self doubt and cowardly manner gets in the way of becoming a hero.

When Dr. Kyudai Garaki creates a serum that causes a person’s quirk to go out of control by their negative emotions, he finds the Red Riot to be the perfect test subject for it.

Now, as Kirishima gets injected with the serum during a night patrol, he starts to feel like his quirk is about to take control of him, and every night, he goes killing new villians, even innocent people like a werewolf during the full moons.

The more berserk his quirk becomes, the more monstrous and dangerous he gets, he’ll even try to hurt his friends because of it, especially Bakugou Katsuki.

Can Bakugou and the others help Kirishima get back to normal before it’s too late?

The Dragon Prince’s Journey (Kiribaku/MHA Fantasy AU)

Eijirou Kirishima, a young dragon shifter prince, is orphaned after his mother, the Dragon Queen dies while protecting him from a league of hunters attacking his dragon kingdom.

With her last breath, she tells him how to find the legendary Pro Warriors, where he will ask them for their help and try to find others of his kind that could still be alive somewhere.

With his new friend Katsuki Bakugou, Kirishima sets throughout the fabled land, meeting a variety of new friends along the way -- while also being tracked down by the same league of hunters that killed his mother.

When Shouta decides to become human to see Hizashi, he starts to discover more about his kind hearted demeanor, tragic past as a child and how music was able to help him escape from it.

Will Shouta choose to become human to be with Hizashi forever or return to the heavens for an eternity as an Angel?

Garden of Roses

This supposed to be a comic about how my Hood meet @littlemisssquiggles ‘s Rose for first time (and have identity crisis), with a little headcanon that all interpretations of Rose Fox smell like maple (of all things).

But @miki-13 did something extra with her script so the whole garden is here🤣🤣!! With some creator cameos too, the greatest amount of fourth wall brokening 🤣🤣🤣.

And I have a headcanon of when my Hood first meet @che1sea-xiao-long ‘s Rosalind, they call each other “Hoody” and “Lindy” to not confuse with their names.

Thanks to @darleenas-art and many other awesome artists (as listed below), the Rosegarden Fanzine managed to raise $409.50 that will be going to Child Mind Institute. The zine is now closed, and as such. I have been granted permission to post my submission, BATH TIME, up for the public!

We hope to do this again in the future and next time to raise even more money.

Mini Fanfic #94: The Art of Breaking Legs (RWBY)

Nora: The first thing you need to remember, Oscar, that breaking your opponents legs isn't just something you could just do so easily. It takes patience, focus, and a lot of raw strength. Observe. (Nora steadily karate chops a wooden board in a perfect split)

Oscar: (Very Impressed) Woah...... That pretty impressive. You're almost as strong as Yang with that strength of yours, Nora.

Nora: (Blushes a little) Awww Thanks, sweetie. I might not be as strong as everyone's favorite Firecracker, but I can still pack quite a punch!

Oscar: You know, I've been meaning to ask you this, but have you actually broken someone's leg before?

Nora: (Rubbing her the back of her head) Welllllllllllll.....not exactly. I usually use the "Breaking your Legs" line as intimidation at best. I was very close of breaking a few bullies' legs from our time in Beacon if a certain (Glares at her boyfriend, Ren) SOMEBODY didn't stop me from doing so!

Ren: (Reading his book while sighing) I wasn't going to let you get in trouble that day, dear.

Nora: Those guys were Class-A Bullies! They were supposed to get in trouble too, ya know?!

Ren: Yes, but you would've been in bigger trouble if you'd actually broken their legs. Plus, I doubt the Professor would actually let all of this slide if that happened.

Nora: ('Sigh') Yeah yeah...(Pouts) Keep reading your little book so I can teach our son how to break legs!

Ren: (Still reading his book) Love you too, Nora.

Oscar: (Watched the whole scene) (It's almost like they're an old married couple...)

LittleMissSquiggles’ Summary of Art 2022

Trying a different take than usual from my art summaries of previous years. While I'll definitely miss seeing my previous summaries on full display to compare against the new one, like I said, I'm up for something a lil different so consider this a new cycle in how I present my continuous development.

My, my, my, what a year 2022 was for this squiggle meister. 

The most I can say is that quite a few changes---mostly positive, for now--- happened for me this year, particularly in these last few months.

Some squiggly good accomplishments I achieved in 2022:

In my professional career, I got yet another job opportunity working in games---you could say an even bigger one following last year's first gig. Early this year, I was approached by a mobile game studio. At first, it was mainly remote freelance work to create some 3D assets and accessories for one of their game titles. However, several months and a few more assignments later and I'm still working with them as of now, going into next year. While it's still mostly freelance work, so far it's been a really positive experience working with this studio. I've learned so much from them---mainly from my cool art manager who I've been working closely with from the start. An overall awesome guy. Next year will mark almost a full year I've been working with them and I'm genuinely hoping to keep doing more work with them going forward.

Secondly, remember last year when I mentioned my 3D modelling gig as a Set Modeler for a prospective animated series produced by Animschool---the online training school where I learnt 3D modeling? Well the name of that series is Mech West and recently, Animschool (presently under Animschool Studios) released the trailer for the first pilot episode for this series. And guess what folks? In the trailer, eye spied with my little squiggly eyes not one but both of the two character prop assets I worked on for the project. It's one thing to create a 3D model and another thing to see the final version of model fully textured, rigged and brought to life through the power of animation! The other artists who worked on the same characters and took over from me following the modeling process did a phenomenal job! And while I can't exactly say which characters I did (since I'm still technically under NDA and Animschool hasn't officially released their official artwork of my assigned characters as yet), I will say that my lil mech babies are definitely in the trailer. Wasn't expecting to see them, let alone both of them but there they were! Beyond that, I honestly cannot wait for when the full pilot of this series drops next year. Other than that, I once again continued to hone my 3D art skills in my preferred style which continues to be stylized hand-painted. Despite starting off the year mighty strong, admittedly though, I did fall off working on personal 3D projects within recent months. You could say it's because I unintentionally burnt myself out on personal 3D projects and needed a recharge/break to assess the next direction I wished to take my craft. Apart from that, I also took a break to focus primarily on work-related projects. I used this period to dedicate more time to learning more about the process through my job while also saving up funds to invest in a new workstation. As much as I love my current laptop and have made lots of amazing pieces with it over the years that I'm still proud of til this day, the truth is... that I aspire to do MORE with my art! For the most part, ya'll have mostly seen me do stylized props in terms of my 3D work. And while I love creating props, I also really, really want to create stylized 3D environments too and I want to do it using Unreal Engine. Unfortunately, my current laptop setup isn't powerful enough to run UE. While it's decent enough for UE4, it's not a comfortable type of decent. Realistically, I need a system with a bit more fire power to handle UE. That's what I've been busting my butt these past couple of months to save up funds for. My plan is to gain a gaming PC that will allow me (hopefully) to work fully in UE4 specifically for environments. When I wasn't focused on freelance work, I also dedicated some time to experimenting with my art style and made significant strides for next phase of my work. With my new workstation, I wish to keep pushing my art in the hopes of achieving my goal of fully marrying my 3D art with my digital art style. You could say that's one of my artist goals for this coming year. So wish me luck on that. Will see how things go.

Overall, 2022 was an alright year; give or take. While it had its fair share of hurdles in between, it also brought me some good achievements which will definitely help me moving forward into the new year. Outside of that, I hope everyone else walked out of 2022 with some positives, more or less, as well. And like I say pretty much every year now, wishing you lot all the best for the upcoming 2023!

Each new year comes with a new chapter of possibilities and while we can't always tell what to expect, the least that can be done is take things in stride, one day at a time. At least that's how this squiggle meister plans on approaching it.

No matter what, let's all do our very best in our respective ventures and give 2023 our best efforts, 200% and beyond!

Happy New Year m'fam! Onward to 2023 we go-go at full throttle!

Since I’m officially a part of the Oscar Pine Protection Squad, I’d thought I make something for the occasion, this is me and my favorite girls from the RWBY FNDM and OPPS(Oscar Pine Protection Squad)! We’re the Pinehead Girls!

I made them from the MyWTC App on my phone, with Oscar’s signature color as the background, orange. I even did some lighting edits on it to give it some shine.

But I made some changes a little, since we gonna make a character as fox faunas.

Why would’t we made her also alluded to Robin Hood too?

Ya know, Disney’s Robin Hood and all.

And it quite fitting as the Atlas is separate between the above (the wealth and human) and the bottom (the mine and possibly faunas). Which she still attending Atlas academy but still secretly stole the riches’ money and give to the faunas in the mine labor to buy themselves to the above or out of Atlas.

So her weapon would be two short sword that combines into an bow. And only reason why she still don’t get caught because her white tip on her hair make the guard thought that “the Robin Hood” have silver white hair.

so im working on the bouquet au. i’m still in the concept art stage. basic lowdown is that ruby is oscar’s personal maid and best friend. she’s trained in combat because she’s around the prince so often. do we have a preference for which colour scheme?
