F1 drivers as Premier League teams, 2024 edition
Compiled by yours truly and @sebsrainbowbicycle
Stay tuned for the post that will get both me and Dee cancelled in both the F1 and the football fandoms. Onwards, unto the breach!
Lando Norris - Chelsea
Overpaid, overrated, 99,999% chance of being fundamentally racist, and yet somehow doing really well this season.
Checo Perez - Everton
SHITE and yet still in competition somehow despite it all.
Max Verstappen - Man City
115 charges vs 1.8 million catering budget, FIGHT!
Lewis Hamilton - Arsenal
Was really good but really hated, is trying to regain former glory but somehow it's reaaaally not working bcs it all falls apart in the last leg. Also he's an Arsenal fan so it rly works out.
Fernando Alonso - Manchester United
The greatest of them all... just don't look at the referees/Singapore GP/the money put into the stadium/what is done to the peach/the staff around Fergie/et cetera et cetera. Fucks real hard but it's just not going well at the moment. There is still hope, tho. :,)
Alex Albon - Tottenham Spurs
Cracks under pressure. Bottles it a lot. Is a dick. Also I never thought I'd say this, but I really miss Logan Sargeant as an option just about now.
Valtteri Bottas - Leicester
Were really good once. Are pretty shit now.
Charles Leclerc - Liverpool FC
Loses, and loses, and loses, and suffers more than Jesus himself (apart from being a really really rich brand), is amazing and has the absolute chance to win, unless they.. slip. :)
Carlos Sainz Jr. - Aston Villa
They're pretty high placed and you're like. What are you even doing here, polar bear?
George Russell - Crystal Palace
You're thinking The Great Exhibition of 1851, you're thinking royalty, you're thinking Queen Victoria... and then he speaks and suddenly you realize - it sounds fancier than it is.
Oscar Piastri - Nottingham Forrest
Mate, nobody understands you speaking.
Pierre Gasly - Newcastle United
You think they should be doing better than they are since they've been around for so long, but then you think twice and you're like. Should they tho?
Franco Colapinto - Brighton Hove Albion
You don't expect them to be that scrappy, but you kinda dig it.
Yuki Tsunoda - Brentford
They're doing pretty well, scoring in the 1st minute and rly agressive (complimentary), but you know they'll probably lose.
Nico Hulkenberg - West Ham United
They've been around for so long and they were good once, but they've also just been consistently mid for quite a while.
Liam Lawson - Fulham FC
Esteban Ocon - Bournemouth
Isn't in the relegation zone but REALLY should be.
Zhou Guanyu - Ipswitch
Is in the relegantion zone but kinda shouldn't be.
Kevin Magnussen - Southampton
In the relegation zone.
Lance Stroll - Wolves (nobody got time for your wannabe Shakespeare lvl name, we all know you're Racing Point, dude)
Is in the relegation zone but will pull out because of divine intervention (Daddy).
#anyways as you can see. we are really objective here#formula 1#f1 shitpost#i amuse myself so much#if i start tagging premier league teams i'll just filter my own post#but i guess i could do a couple? idk#f1#manchester united#liverpool fc#enjoy this as much as we did making it#dont tell us if you disagree we are always right#barbie tag#footie tag

The Leicester City vs Arsenal stream just randomly stopped in the 84th minute and basically said the game was over. Apparently Liverpool's stream also went down. Like sure we had trouble staying log into the FA Player but it never ended the stream before the game was over.
yea we've had the stream not working before the game but never mid during the game

I’m looking at Arsenal’s stats vs Leicester City today and remembering Arteta’s critics complaining, “He’s not good enough! I can’t work out what he’s trying to do!” in his second and third years.
36 shots
16 shots on goal
75% possession
587 passes completed
4 goals scored
THAT is what he was building towards. Year 4 is when it finally started clicking, AFTER they turned over almost the entire squad. Now look at what they’re doing.
United fans: be patient and be willing to see familiar faces leave. It’ll be worth it. 😌

i forgot to do the post match analysis so here it is a day late as per:
honestly what a win, deffo up there for one of our best performance of the season but not the best because my god was that first half scrappy. thank fuck for david de gea and he fr silenced the haters and showed why he is still one of the best gks in the prem. i can’t analyse the first half too much bc i listened to the majority of it on the radio so i didn’t really see much play
i did see all 3 goals and it’s a shame rashford didn’t get a hatrick but two is better than nothing. it’s so nice to see sancho on the score sheet and for him to score against leicester at home and away. wout weghorst mate idk what u have done to the team bc literally everyone was trying to get u to score but it just wasn’t meant to be for whatever reason. the licha header was close but dalot bro u should’ve banged ur chance in had u used ur left foot.
in terms of overall play, the second half was far better and united were in control of the game. i still think garnacho is better when he comes off the bench but if we don’t start him, he won’t improve and he’s young too like i’m not ripping in to him, he’s a phenomenal player but he makes way more difference coming off the bench than he does starting and that’s just bc of the speed of play and how different the game is at the start vs the end
last thing is the title race. i’ve been saying for quite some time now i still don’t think despite the results, united are capable of winning the league bc yes we are playing phenomenal, yes we are only 5 points behind arsenal and 3 behind city but unlike them two, we are still in 4 competitions and we lack the squad depth city and arsenal have. as in if any of our midfield gets injured we will have to turn to mainoo and iqbal to step up bc we don’t have anyone else. top 4 and carabao cup are still what i want from this season and anything else is literally a really nice extra surprise. i think we could come close but this squad is far from the finished product and when we get the players we need maybe then we can talk about title races and that
overall a solid 8.7/10 would be higher but the first half was just far too poor apart from rashy’s goal and david de gea’s saves
next up: the return leg for barcelona in the europa league at home up the reds!
#h talks united#i need to start writing my thoughts down as i watch the game#bc i have to rely on memory when i do it a day late n probs miss stuff out

Paddy’s Picks
My preview for this weekend’s Premier League games. This is the last weekend of Premier League before it pauses for 2022 World Cup. They could of very easily done without Premier League games this weekend with it been so close to the start of the World Cup. With England squad just announced for the World Cup, the players will not want to get injured this weekend.
Manchester City vs Brentford
Man City will be looking for another home win this weekend but will have to do it without Kyle Walker as he is still out of action. It will be similar to their last game against Fulham as Man City will have all the possession and Brentford will be tough to breakdown. Erling Haaland will be looking to improve on his incredible tally of 18 Premier League goals against Brentford. Brentford will have Ivan Toney back from suspension for their trip to the Etihad. Brentford’s plan will be to frustrate the home side and take advantage of Toney’s height at set-pieces. Score prediction 2-0
AFC Bournemouth vs Everton
Gary O’ Neill was disappointed after they let two goal leads slip in their last two Premier League games against both Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United. They have been scoring a lot of goals lately with scoring five goals in their last two Premier League games and scoring four in their third round EFL Cup game against Everton in midweek. Everton changed their whole team for their defeat in the EFL Cup but will be looking for an improvement at the Vitality Stadium this weekend. Everton were poor in their last Premier League game against Leicester City and will need to start picking up points soon before been dragged into a relegation fight. Score prediction 1-1
Liverpool vs Southampton
After partnering company with Ralp Hasenhutl, it is now a new era under Nathan Jones at Southampton. They will be looking for the bounce of a new manager as they try to hit Liverpool on the counter attack this weekend. Liverpool won three games in a row in three different competitions after beating Derby County in the third round of EFL Cup in midweek. Mo Salah returned to his best after scoring twice against Spurs and will be looking for another double against The Saints. Trent Alexander-Arnold is brillant going forward and will look to hit Andrew Robertson with his incredible Crossfield passes again this weekend. Score prediction 3-1
Tottenham Hotspur vs Leeds United
Spurs are in bad form and keep going behind in matches before they start performing. Spurs are light in attacking options as they are without the remarkable Son Heung-min until after the World Cup. Leeds have won their last two Premier League games which includes a fantastic comeback win against Bournemouth at Elland Road last weekend. Leeds will look to play on the counter attack against Spurs through the pace of Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto. Score prediction 1-2
Nottingham Forest vs Crystal Palace
Palace will be looking for their second away win in a row after winning late on against West Ham last weekend. Palace will be looking to finish in the top ten of the Premier League before the break for World Cup. Forest got a great win against Liverpool have struggled since then by getting beating 5-0 against Arsenal and got a late draw against Brentford last weekend. With been at home they will be looking for the extra home advantage and support. Score prediction 1-2
Newcastle United vs Chelsea
Newcastle have been fantastic this i due to the transformation of Eddie Howe as manager. He has got the best out of his players as Miguel Almiron has scored eight goals in 2022/2023 Premier League. Chelsea need a result after conceding five goals in their last two Premier League games against both Brighton and Arsenal. Raheem Sterling has been up and down since joining Chelsea but he needs to have a good performance if The Blues want to win at St James Park. Score prediction 3-1
Wolverhampton Wanders vs Arsenal
Wolves have appointed a new manager in Julen Lopetegui but will not take charge until after the World Cup. You might remember that he left Spain on the eve of 2018 World Cup to take Real Madrid job. Wolves are still in the relegation zone and have a tough match against Arsenal this weekend. Arsenal have been remarkable and have got some great results at tricky grounds such as Elland Road, Stamford Bridge and Selhurst Park. They are more resilient this season due to the arrival of William Saliba and this weekend will be another win for The Gunners at Molineux. Score prediction 0-2
Brighton & Hove Albion vs Aston Villa
The bounce of a new manager has worked as Unai Emery won his first Premier League match as manager against Man United. Ollie Watkins is Villa’s best striker and Emery will do well if he gets the best out of him in front of goal. Brighton got their first big win under Roberto De Zebri as they beat Chelsea 4-1 in their last home game. Lisandro Trossard has been outstanding this season as he has scored against Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea. Score prediction 2-1
Fulham vs Manchester United
The final game before the break is the clash of Fulham and Man United at Craven Cottage. Marko Silva has done a successful job at Fulham as they are comfortably inside the top half of the 2022/2023 Premier League. Fulham will be without their top scorer Aleksander Mitrovic for this game and this is a big blow for the home side. Man United have been inconsistent this season and that continued in their defeat at Villa Park last weekend. Man United got a great comeback win against Aston Villa in an EFL Cup third round game and Marcus Rashford is in great form coming into this game. Score prediction 1-3
