Beyond Canon, re: p666.1, 666.2

So, I want to comment.

The fact that the "session" Vriska has begun is no S***b at all but a therapy session in the hyperbolic helltier chamber. Hilarious.

It's cool how the page is basically Homestuck: The Visual Novel. The talksprites & dialogue do the heavy lifting, the background & music's there for the ambiance.

Upon seeing the time skip, Blaperile had the good idea that she might be in here for 6 to 8 years. Bringing Vriska closer in age to the other Meat timeline kids. At least, near the start of their journey to Deltritus. Plus, most of them are functionally immortal.

In a lot of ways, Vriska was left lagging behind. Her insistence on going out to fight Lord English meant that her own personal timeline has been so short until now compared to the rest. Terezi went out to search for her for years upon years, while for her, less than a week passed on Candy Earth? Crazy.

I was wondering what introspection could be forced upon Vriska, that would feel earned. I mean, the post-retcon version of her already did much of this on and off screen, it could've ended up feeling repetitive somehow. But no.

No, this feels right so far.

She spends the first two years (???) trying and failing to move forward with Tavros (and Davepeta). I would've assumed she only had those two locations to explore in all that time (Tavros' hive's terrain and her own). Until she started venting there.

Seems everything in Helltier Alternia is available to her. It probably just never stops feeling fake. Which reminds me a lot of the (revised) ending to qntm's Ra.

So, what are the people in the hyberbolic chamber, truly?

Tavros & Aradiabot seem like self-aware versions of their past selves, like unawakend dream selves. Tavros even felt more confident than I've remembered him ever seeing. Hope this isn't because this was his pre-paralysis self.

I kind of wonder if the sprites are standing in for themselves in the chamber. Aka that Vriska hung out with GCATavrosprite-as-his-past-self all this time? Not sure though.

Aradiabot, you ask? Well we know that Alpha Aradia has been travelling to all sorts of alternate timelines and is very much much older than she looks. So she could've gone and filled in for Aradiabot here, too. She used to be her own sprite, after all!

But that doesn't feel entirely satisfactory, either. It kind of feels nicer to imagine Vriska's been engaging with "meta Tavros" and "meta Aradia". Aka, an amalgam of who've they've been in the story, to the people reading Homestuck. Very much a function of the Point, but also very much the character themselves as well.

In other news, how many times will Vriska end up 'dying' in the chamber, on screen? I mean, in the last part she went to lie on her quest bed. Not a lot of sleep happens on those! At least, not for long.

It's hilarious that Davepeta seems to have been designated Vriska's "handler" but has no real experience to help her along. I mean, that's most of the sprites in a nutshell, but still. If the chamber's supposed to give her growth, you'd have thought she'd be given a better helper.

Then again, the sprites might be constructs of the chamber too. Vriska might really be in here alone and the chamber just has her own psyche to work with. She's internalized she's a badass who doesn't need help.

And now she's slowly unlearning things. By now, she's learned to ask other people what they want to do. The prompt "What will you do?" was never about her, it was about the others.

It's going to be interesting to see what she has to confront in the Mindfang path, though. It would be wild to get talksprites for Mindfang or Spidermomsprite! But if it's about her toxically near-religious obediance to Alternia's obsession with ancestors… Yeah I can see her talking with a version of pre-retcon Vriska. Or Aranea. We don't know if she ever did meet a version of her dancestor post-retcon.

Loved how the page went and took in a larger part of the page, like during [S] Cascade. And the branching paths evoke the paths we got to choose from during the time the cartridge was corrupted.

Yeah, on rereading the text, I think Tavros & Aradiabot are elements of the chamber trying to guide Vriska along.

If she'd only contemplated what WORDS could've been better than the ones she said already, instead of jumping to ACTIONS (hers or Tavros'), it wouldn't have taken two years for her to get there with Tavros.

But that's the road she had to travel: Apologies -> Revenge -> Actually sitting down & sorting it out with the other party.

Now for her to unlearn all her other unhealthy coping strategies! Yeah she's going to be here for a while.

Neat bit, that bit about projecting though. It's true, underneath all the bluster, she was just a kid trying to find the best way to deal with the world she was given. And then, when she thought she found it, she put everyone in the same box with her.

And hey, Tavros' reaction (pointing) at realizing she might be projecting… Was that a reference to the Turnabout fangame?

Him proposing they could be projects for one another… Imagine them as moirails, dear god.

Tavros can very much pretend to be blue as he is now (as a sprite).

It's interesting to (re)learn how much Vriska was obsessed with trying to patch things up with Aradia. While Aradia was like "whatever, bye", lol.

And, is the helltier rung thing a real thing? Cause we saw godtiers physically represented as platforms! This seems more like Vriska's finally truly scaling her echeladder.

Like she skipped a few steps in growing as a S***b player, which seems just so like her.

Real on the nose that she spends all this years. Stuck. In her old home. Bent. To return to her hive each time.

Aradiabot's spiel about incremental change & the danger of cycles reminds me of the song. "I'm going around, not in circles but in spirographs." It's the difference between getting stuck in this chamber vs. the dreambubbles, too, I guess.

Waiting to see if this all really will end up with a Scourge Sister fond reunion!

@void-botanist I'm making a whole new post on my main so I don't hijack your writeblr but re: salmon leap it's perfectly okay that there's no salmon in it because Cú Chulainn is in Puzzle and Dragons, one of my favorite video games ever, and now I get to infodump about it. For context PAD is a gacha game (sorry) where you match orbs on the board to attack monsters and.. that's the entire game they only just added story dungeons like a couple years ago but I like it a lot. It's like if bejeweled had bigger numbers and let you move the jewels anywhere you wanted. And the music and weapon designs are really cool.

(disclaimer: I don't play PAD consistently anymore and I'm kinda behind on the meta, and I've never used Cú Chulainn on a team, so take all of this with a grain of salt)

So this is card #1209, Wolf Hero, Ignis Cú Chulainn. 1209 sounds like a lot but this game has been around since like.. 2012, and idk when this card dropped but it's likely pretty close to ten years.

There are a lot of different evos but I'm just going with this one for now. I doubt it's historically accurate, this game just pulls deities from a lot of different mythologies and does whatever the hell it wants with them. But it does look cool!

It's a wood/fire attribute, which means it deals wood (PAD version of grass type in Pokémon) and fire damage. Since fire is its second attribute it usually doesn't deal as much fire damage.

So these are its current awoken skills. Those are basically like passive skills that deal extra damage, change how the board looks, etc. for example the one with the 7 and the red arrow makes it so that if you get 7 combos or more, that card gets a damage boost. The more of those 7c skills a card has, the more that effect is multiplied. So having 3 of them on one card is pretty cool. I don't think 1209 is the strongest card at all but it's gotten a lotttt of buffs since it first dropped; the entire game is subject to a lot of power creep so the devs are constantly adapting old cards to fit the new meta.

The blue squares are a different type of awoken skill called a latent awakening, and if I explained every detail I'd be here all day but basically they increase how much damage 1209 does against certain types of monsters. It doesn't have all of those latents at once but I could pick a few to give to it if I wanted.

So now I'd like to take a look at a different Cú Chulainn Evo that I have actually used, #3919, Gáe Bulg. The huge jump in numbers is because this card was added like years after 1209.

Tbh I don't remember which team I used this card on, it's been years, but I can tell you how to use it. This is a special type of evo called an assist (or inherit). Basically that means that you don't put the card on a team as its own unit. Instead you attach it to a different card, and the main card "inherits" this card's awoken skills, its active skill (which is basically when you press a button and then something cool happens like a stat boost or changing the attributes of the orbs of the board), and a fraction of its stats IF the inherit and the main card share an attribute. 3919 is just a wood attribute, so based on that alone it'd be best on a wood attribute card if you want that stat boost. But you can also look at the awoken and active skills to make sure:

Active skill: Unlock all orbs; Change Heal, Jammer, Poison, Mortal Poison, and Bomb orbs to Wood orbs

To be clear, this set of awoken skills is kinda weak by 2024 meta standards if you're trying to beat mid-level to endgame dungeons and there are plenty of better cards you can use. 3919 hasn't been hit by the power creep beam. But let's pretend that it's 2016-ish and this is a really powerful card still lol. So starting with the awoken skills, the sword and shield one just tells you that all the following skills can be used by the main card as well. There are 2 enhanced wood orb awokens. Each orb deals a set amount of damage on its own, but when it's enhanced that damage is multiplied by a small amount. The one with the fire attribute symbol on the shield makes that fire attribute types against you deal slightly less damage. And the sword just boosts that card's overall attack a little bit. Finally the active creates more wood orbs, which goes well with the orb enhance awokens. Basically, this is the kind of card you'd want on a team that mostly deals wood attribute damage.

I don't really have a conclusion for this, I could spend an hour talking about these cards alone because this game is so dense lol. But yeah, that's the kinda info you'd take into account if you were building a team. I left a lot of details out but if people ask I'm always happy to explain. Tentatively pinging @vacantgodling and @wayfarer-orca , because y'all both like this game iirc and would maybe enjoy seeing it on the dash

Wake Up Call

This one is for @zoanluen's Dance With Dead AU. This is about an immortalized soul named Bobby who enters a recently dead body to live again after a short time of sleeping and a long ass time of wondering around the abandoned dungeon after a nasty outbreak in the medieval ages.

Also, this is a good excuse to make a story of my own version of Rehydrated Ganon in Dead Cells form. >:D

Just when he was beginning to lose hope of finding a replacement one. Just when he was getting ready to give up and just, JUST when he was beginning to accept that he will be nothing but a writhing mass of magenta-colored blob for the rest of his undying existence; He just happened stumble onto an find.

A body.

A recently deceased murdered body in pieces to be precise. This one was muscular and bigger than his own predicament form which was merely a soda-can-sized blob made from nothing but ichor left over from the Malaise.

He can't recall much of his old life or even how he was able to recall what this plague called Malaise is. For all he knows that this Malaise is very, very bad in his time in... God-knows-how-long he was like this as he moved inches away from touching this corpse.

From a cell he was able to slip out from, spears, swords and a century-old yellowing bones and skeletons still wearing armor so he can assume that it must been quite a REALLY long time since the plague had started. With one eye, he looked at the chopped up body left and right. Arms are sloppily cut nearly to the shoulder as the left arm was chopped inches from the elbow.

Foot was broke off from the leg as the other was chopped off half-way to the hip and near the crotch. Intestines was spilled upon landing a pointed limestone that happens to be sharp enough to tore through the side by the waist and stomach. The head still had the piece of neck when it was decapitated and with an eye missing with smoke raising from its bloody eye socket on the left side of the man's face as it bore a frozen expression of shock and betrayal. The way whoever killed this man had been doing a sloppy work but it was still in presented condition so it can be put back together. He does recall that there were surgeons in this dungeon that can be able to sew the screaming-in-pain guards who had got hurt by their own hands or by prisoners of crimes or war back together or close any flesh wounds. The screams of those men had keep him awake at night and still hear them in his non-existent ears when he was...

For the love of GOD he can't recall that much of his morally life, can he? Come on! Surely, a blob that could be able to sew a body back together can't be that hard right?

He rolled his eye and then literally began to roll towards where the doctors' corridors are. It shouldn't be this difficult to find since he occasionally stroll by it time to time when he ran out of bodies to take control since they stopped throwing them down into this dungeon that is slowly but surely becoming a cave by this point as it was being reclaimed by nature. But no time to reminisce.

He needs to focus now if he wants to get out of this hellhole.

It was hard to sew the arms back into their respective sockets, what is even more hard as a blob is everything else.

Slotting the bone back into place, pushing the blood-covered entrails back inside, foot refusing to stay in place when he readies to curved needle. Removing clothes including the undergarments wasn't smooth sailing too. Being this small to pull off each article of the clothing he had never seen before or he cared about but it has to be done if he wants to get this done fast. The process of sewing the body parts together and closing up wounds is harder than he originally thought. But he was able to put it back in one piece, even sewing the head back in place.

But then when he removed what looked like the most strangest arrow he had ever seen. It was small, smaller than an regular arrow, it was metal pallet that was lodged in the back of the ethmoid bone that has made a landing on between of the sphenoid bone's lesser and greater wings. Using an tendril made from slime to hold it with inspection.

He wondered for a moment if this "pallet" was the one thing that ended this man's life if the body-chopping wasn't the culprit. And if so, how long did it took him to die before that?

Answers would need to wait for now as he tossed the "pallet" behind him, letting it tinker across the stone brick floor. The moment of truth. He was sitting the corpse's stomach to inspect this 'pallet' when he discarded it before heading back to the head, and then to the collar bone and stopped just inches towards the bloody eye socket. Taking a few deep breaths in before agonizingly and slowly entering the skull, settling in as a "brain" in the process.

At first, it seemed like nothing happen. Minutes past by felt like an eternity for the blob of ichor. The corpse is still fresh enough to be pocessed by himself since he had did all the work on putting a corpse back together again, has he lost the ability to take over corpses? But something does happened in the process: He felt something. The fingers twitched, moving on their own at his command as the eye socket was starting to smoke again before it erupted fire out of it as the other eye in perfect condition dilated and rolled upward before it shines. Shines like a star being born.

Inhuman gargle came soon after, dark pink bubbles foaming at the mouth like the body was infected with the Malaise but no trace of it is found somewhere in its system. Head thrashed this way and that as the corpse convulsing violently on the floor, limbs hitting each landing as the back arched upwards before spine hitting back down.

A strangled scream was released from his mouth out of sheer panicky and pain.

Most bodies he controlled had reacted like this when they are not infected with the very disease, others that did put up less spasms than this one. He had no recollection of his old life but the memory of his execution that seems so unjustified but whatever the Malaise done to him prior to dying must've been something beyond his understanding: An immortal.

Unable to starve to death, unable to die of thirst, unable to commit suicide with each try with the first few bodies upon waking up the first time after death but eventually gave up trying and instead starting trying to escaping the dungeon he was in before its in enclosure at the tune of a cave in, stealing away from any hope he has until today.

Minutes coming after entering the body to claim as his own felt like years for the first time in his unearthly life. He was too focused on its feeling that he didn't noticed the head hair had began to grow and changed in color.

Once an walnut color now hot pink as it grew and grew until the hair itself seemingly ate the ears on the sides of his head as it grew to resemble flames. The body continued to shake and scream until its movements had started to die down to violent jerks until it twitches slightly as the configuration has slowed and stopped in its tracks completely.

He stood in place for a few moments, taking in what had transpired before the first thing that comes to mind had came to him quite quickly. He blinked and the good eye blinked- In fact, both eye lids (minus the fact the body only has one) blinked on command, yet the peripheral vision was lacking in his point of view; There was nothing but black on his left but he can see on his right.

Experimentally, he rose his new hand up to be in his peripheral vision, he then decided to let it move down and up and he watched it obeyed his whims.

Okay, he has now gotten a new body. What next? Well, he had just gotten a body but he wondered what the corpse's hair looks like now so he will get that mirror left behind by one of those guards will be the start, and then he will be getting new clothes from one of the skeletons will be his second priority, ones that are actually still intact to begin with. And then find himself a rope that will carry him out of this terrible place.

COMFORT MOVIE CHALLENGE: MUPPET TREASURE ISLAND

Released in 1996, his is the second Muppet feature film directed by Brian Henson, based on a classic work of literature and released in partnership with the Walt Disney Company (before the aquisition of the Muppet franchise by Disney was really officialized in the early 2000s), after 1992′s The Muppet Christmas Carol.

This time adapting the famous children’s pirate adventure novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, they cast the human actors Kevin Bishop as Jim Hopkins, Tim Curry as Long John Silver, Billy Connoly as Billy Bones, and Jennifer Saunders as tavern owner Mrs. Bluveridge, while the Muppet actors are Kermit the Frog as ship Captain Smollet, Miss Piggy as Smollet’s fiancee Benjamina Gunn, Sam the Eagle as Mr Arrow, Fozzie Bear as Squire Trelawney and the duo of Gonzo and Rizzo as eighteen century versions of themselves.

Meant as an energetic adventure and musical comedy movie for the whole family, the film is quick to extablish the characters of Jim Hopkins, Gonzo and Rizzo as three on their luck tavern workers.

Rizzo is sardonic and prefers a life of comfort, safety and plenty of food, while Jim (who here is portrayed as a young orphan of both parents) and Gonzo dream of excitement travelling trough the seas.

One of the clients of the tavern, former pirate Billy Bones, dies, leaving the map to find the treasure of Pirate Captain Flint to Jim, while pirates burn the tavern down.

So the trio goes to ask the rich Squire Trelawney a ship to search for the buried treasure. Squire Trelawney, a person of unconventional mind that confindes in an imaginary friend who lives in his finger, called Mr Bimbo, is excited with the idea, and presents to them the ship called Hispaniola, that shall be comanded by Captain Smollet and his right hand man Mr Arrow.

Among the crew that Squire Trelawney hires for the travel, Jim, Gonzo and Rizzo meet the ship cook Long John Silver, a charismatic man with a dark sense of humour, who becomes a close friend of Jim.

The young boy, naive and longing for a father figure, becomes trusty of Long John, while Gonzo and Rizzo, neglected by Jim, feel something is off with the cook, because before dying Billy Bones had warned them to beware of a one legged man, a description that fits Long John, who has only one leg and walks with a cane.

Jim is the normal every person who acts and is a surrogate for the audience, that gets emerged in the colorfull world of the port, the ship and the island.

You get a nice balance of chaotic meta humour of the 70s version of the Muppets with dramatic acting and character focus that would become strong in the 90s.

While the main cast of characters is firm in being their roles and invested in their emotional conflicts, you get little fourt wall breaking jokes like rat tourists visiting the location in modern atire right while the movie is being made, Statler and Waldorf as two wood ship figureheads who makes about the movie and a small cameo of the Swedish Chef dressed as a parody of an island native preparing to cook the imprisoned Rizzo, Gonzo and Smollet while the vegetables say to the audience “Well, how did you expected we would put him in the movie?”

And being a Muppet movie musical, you can expect well elaborated numbers presentings fun, beautifull, catchy songs the somber opening villain song“Shiver my Timbers”, the I Want song “Something There”, the epic “Sailing for Adventure”, the hilariously random “Cabin Fever”, the intimidating “Boom Shakalaka”, the romantic ballad “Love Led Us Here” and the dancing relaxing reggae “Lover Power”, courtesy of none other than Bob Marley’s son Ziggy Marley.

This colorfull, age of sail musical fantasy with Muppets gives a strong atmosphere that reminds of the joy of summer. 

There is an entertaining combination of character drama, action, a touch of a horror atmosphere, romance and the goold old comedy that only the Muppets can, and it now enters in the list of my favorite movies, that is probably the best pirate movie ever made.

...heck I wanna talk about my fan-part now.

There's meta stuff that ties into the Planetarium web, but for the most part its connection to the main JJBA universe is connections, mechanics, and cameos. ...and some things more than cameos.

The working title is

The Burning City.

Taking place after a Heaven Plan taken out at the last minute by an irate Jupiter, a town with an abundance of Stand Users works around secrets and a shadowy leader and inner circle who wants all the groups under his control.

Naturally in a world with meta-humans and other supernatural powers, there's a lot of alternative explanations for why something happened. Most of it is garbage though - a way to divert blame. It's usually depressing on what companies can get away using the "meta' argument.

Anyways sometimes though, the conspiracy theories are hilarious. The only one I really keep track of is r/secretidentities, where you take a popular person/public figure and argue which superhero/supervillain they are. I guess I should state the obvious that this joke reddit references the people in my world.

Elon Musk is usually argued to be Martian Manhunter - with the occasionally Aquaman. Honestly, I might be starting to believe it myself, given how fervently he's been banning people on Twitter that use the "#elonmanhunter" or "#martianmusk" tags.

Lex Luthor is often argued to be Music Meister, despite their frames being different and y'know his actual superidentity. It's probably the red hair. Anyway, people claim he should be disqualified from these arguments altogether since he has a public super identity which is Superman. However, everyone argues that he can easily play both sides.

Bill Gates is often argued to be Brainiac, never mind that the supervillain had been slain seven years ago by Lex Luthor - when he tried to shrink Metropolis into his sort of "city collection?" I don't know. There's very little information beyond two newspaper reports back then.

Bruce Wayne is often believed to be Shazam - and occasionally Music Meister too. Probably because of how stupendously extra they all can get. I've seen the rare videos of both of them being either goofy or overly dramatic.

Clark Kent, the quarterback for the Gotham Knights whose been on the news lately for winning the Superbowl twice in a row, has been called nearly everyone, but I think the popular theory is that he's the alter-ego of Green Arrow because of his passing game - close to 75% completion rate, a world record even. He also can't take a hit very well - everyone's usually scared for him when they see him get tackled - and cheers when he wobbly stands up. Hence Green Arrow.

C, J, R and S for the fandom ask game!!

C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will (be nice)

I attempted to like Cisco/Caitlin, but their platonic besties game was too good and I got too invested in their friendship to be comfortable shipping them. Which is a shame since there are a lot of good fics for that ship, I have no doubt. I just... have no interest in reading them.

Then there's more recently Chester/Allegra. Relationships with big age gaps have to do more to convince me there's chemistry there and since Allegra is 24 and Chester is a few months away from 32, they've got an approximately eight year gap. I've shipped bigger age gaps than that (Harrisco... and also ColdFlash) but those ships typically have so much chemistry on screen that it's difficult to unsee once I've noticed. But Chester and Allegra just don't have that. I mean, I am less drawn to canon ships in general since non-canon ships give more room to play by being divergent by default... but this really isn't that issue for me. They're just... bland.

But I do think that's a hallmark of the Flash's current cache of writers who apparently thought KillerBlaine was a good idea. Mark Blaine's only real impression on me is that he doesn't know how to keep his shirt on and he lacks the charisma, personality, and badass leitmotif of Zaveid (Tales of Zestiria/Berseria) needed to pull that off. ... this said be nice so I should probably stop here.

J - Name a fandom you didn’t care/think about until you saw it all over tumblr

Glee. I'm never going to be able to get into the show itself. I tried but i didn't care about high school based drama shows while in high school, so not even the music could make me enjoy the utter slog it was otherwise. But despite the drastic divide over whether Blaine is a good person or terrible and somewhat emotionally abusive boyfriend (which... he does canonically assault his boyfriend in a parking lot so you can imagine where I am on that divide), there's a lot of interesting fics (prose is so much more accessible to me than tv for high school and college type dramas) and fandom meta.

That said, since I'm never going to actually watch the show all the way through or even halfway through, I have no intention of ever contributing to the fandom beyond commenting, liking/kudos-ing, or reblogging. But there's fun to be had in fandom without necessarily having to enjoy the canon its built off of as long as people can be nice to each other... while also liberally blocking those who can't.

R - A pairing you ship that you don’t think anyone else ships

Well, Hartley/Roderick is certainly a pair so rare that I wrote the first fics about them on Ao3. But though they're canon, Roderick is basically a clean slate upon which any personality may be placed. So he's less interesting than basically any character on the show with a defined personality of their own beyond 'loyal minion'. Which is probably why I can only think of one other person, off the top of my head, who also writes for that ship. I think there's more than that now, but not by much. That was a definitely a ship where when I first wrote for it I was hoping that even if there didn't wind up being much interest for the ship itself, people who enjoyed my writing would consider reading the fics anyway.

It was definitely Hartley's devotion to Roderick that drew me to the ship in the first place. It's still what I like most about them.

S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged)

So I've got two contradictory headcanons about E2 Oliver.

1.) E2 Oliver drowned in what was a tragic accident. We know that the E2 version of the Hood was Robert Queen thanks to a brief news clip seen on the Flash and, in the final season of the Arrow, Oliver was able to briefly take E2 Oliver's place by pretending to be him, rescued and returned home after all these years so that means E2 Oliver at the very least never made it home himself.

But since E2 Malcolm wasn't evil that means he never orchestrated the undertaking which means he would have no reason to put a bomb on the Queen family yacht. So in order for it to have been lost at sea, the ship must have run afoul an actual accident of some sort and sunk. Assuming E1 and E2 Robert Queen were similarly preferential to Oliver's survival over their own, then E2 Robert must not have managed to find Oliver in the aftermath of the ship's sinking or he might have killed himself to ensure Oliver had enough rations, similar to how E1 Robert killed himself and his bodyguard.

All of which tells me that odds are Oliver died and it was probably that grief which fueled Robert's time as the Arrow.

Admittedly, this is what everyone in E2 thinks happened, no doubt, but canon never actually confirms one way or another that E2 Oliver is 100% dead as a doornail dropped into the ocean, so I say it counts.

2.) While it doesn't change Robert's motivations or belief that Oliver's dead... Oliver did not drown when the yacht sunk. Instead he was rescued by a member of the League of Assassins and was given no real choice about joining. We don't know that E2 Sara was on that boat - or even exists? do we know if E2 Laurel has a sister named Sara? - but E2 Oliver has taken the slot that was E1 Sara's and become an assassin. Only he never tried to leave and remained an assassin up until the universe got red sky-ed to death.

I have no idea if I'll ever use these headcanons in anything, but they're there waiting should I ever need them.

Anybody wanna hear about an OC rogues gallery for my Young Titans AU team?

Theodore Paris Lindworth, a male OC. Blond hair, blue eyes, sharp features, gaze feels like poison. CEO of Lindworth Industries. He funds the Olympians, though not publicly. A coward in a physical confrontation, but an incredibly devious manipulator and backstabber. He’ll do anything to up LI’s profits.

Jewel Koren, Lindworth’s executive assistant. She also supervises and directs the Ambrosia Program. She uses a mix of genetic and cybernetic enhancements, notably molecular kinetic charging, magnetokinesis, density shifting, skeletal reinforcements, and modular limb weapons, with a preference for blades.

A team of Greek-themed villains called the Olympians, consisting of Orion, Typhon, Eidolon, Stymphalian, and Galatea. They’re initially a proposed corporate alternative to the Young Titans and a proof-of-concept for the Ambrosia Program.

Galatea, a technopathic girl who loves making destructive robots and setting them loose. She has a favorite robot she calls Talos. Once she’s part of a team, though, she focuses more on assembling creative robotic suits for herself—lots of limbs and gadgets and doodads, about as far from an Iron Man suit as you can get, she’s a kid with a kid’s imagination after all.

Stymphalian. Think Silver Swan, but bronze mutant wing arms plus poison feathers.

Eidolon, a man with powerful psionic abilities, including telepathy and psionic weapons.

Orion, an archer who utilizes a variety of magical and technological arrows and talismans. Also enhanced strength and speed, though not fast enough to be called superspeed.

Typhon, a physical powerhouse with atmokinesis and flight.

Cinder King, a very, very powerful pyrokinetic with temperature control powers. He technically has control over cold, but he doesn’t advertise it, both to stay thematically consistent and to keep a hidden knife up his sleeve.

Trouble Clef, a music-themed supervillain team consisting of Presto, Largo, Dulce, and Vivace.

Presto, the speedster.

Largo, the strongman.

Dulce, the pheromone manipulator.

Vivace, the telekinetic.

Canvas, who has the ability to bring his own art to life. Utilizes this mainly through his tattoos. Prior to turning to supervillainy, Canvas did a lot of murals for the city and street art on the side. He was fired because PR didn’t like his tattoos. Most of his attacks focus on cash theft or destruction of public property.

Maelstrom, a hydrokinetic Xebellian mercenary hired by Lindworth to take out the Young Titans.

Thingama-Bob, AKA Robert Colson. In the vein of villains like Trickster and Toyman, Thingama-Bob commits crimes using weaponized toys. Coleman turned to crime after his toyshop was demolished by Canvas. Buzzsaw yo-yos are his typical choice of weapon.

Bungee Gum, an elastic acrobat thief. He considers himself a rival to Adieu.

Adieu, a teleporting jewel thief. Her teleportation is tech-based. She considers Bungee Gum an annoyance.

Komodo, a beast-tamer who rides a magic wyvern.

Terraform, the geokinetic son of Komodo. He received his geokinesis from the early-stage Ambrosia Program.

Aegis and Aether, AKA Marcus and Pauline Twine, twin criminals. Aegis (Marcus Twine) has enhanced strength, durability, and unstoppable momentum. Aether (Pauline Twine) can create and manipulate force fields. Both received their abilities from the Ambrosia Program.

Psychopomp, a necromancer who drags spirits back and forth across the barrier between the physical and spirit worlds to do his bidding.

Hat Trick, an illusionist who straddles the line between creating reality and delusions. She later gets a boost from the Ambrosia Program, enhancing the scale and power of her conjured illusions.

Hamfist, a pig minotaur who wields a giant ice-magic hammer.

Phony, a spy-for-hire who specializes in impersonations. Meta ability to change their appearance. Wears a kitsune mask to conceal their identity, since they can’t change their face. The mask has image inducer and psi-damper tech, but it’s physical shape doesn’t change, making it a weakness in Phony’s disguises. As such, fooling someone who knows the trick hinges on not being expected. A favorite hire for LI for corporate espionage and sabotage.

The Stealer of Voices, an eldritch entity that will exist so long as fear exists in humanity’s heart. The Stealer, for short. Every Titans group needs a good extradimensional demon to fight.

Bloodstone, leader of a rival sect of the Cult of Blood that believes salvation can be found in the blood god Hemarr. Unbeknownst to the sect, their blood god was killed and devoured in essence by the Stealer of Voices.

Two Shows, Randomly (Well, 3, or 4...)

First - I'm so sad Jodie's time as Doctor has come to an end. She's an awesome actress and was a really cool doctor (with really cool companions, and an epicly awesome Master as her rival), and while the first bit of her run had some choppy writing, I do think it got better with Flux, and then the two specials (especially the Groundhog Day one - I loved that one) and then, finally, sadly, the end. I've loved every Doctor thus far (well, at least from 9 onwards), so I can't pick favorites, but she was the first doctor where I was entirely caught up at the moment her tenure started. So there was that - the first time that I was watching things 'live.' And that was fun. That said, I loved the surprise twist at the end of the episode, and am so excited to see what happens next November.

Second - Ryan Hansen Solves Crime on Television* was one of those few YouTube Red/YouTube Premium shows that got canned when YouTube decided to get out of that business, probably because no one really wanted to pay for that (especially given the limited amount of stuff they had going at the time). But, well, Ryan Hansen is hilarious, the very 'meta' approach to the show was a lot of fun, the guest appearances thru both seasons were great - and I'm really, really sad that there isn't more of it. I mean, to some extent Ryan Hansen will always be Dick Casablancas, but, like, this show of him - and other celebrities - being weird, crazy (I assume) versions of themselves in a LA-centric crime show was pretty entertaining. The second season had some very questionable decisions (Black Panther musical, like, all of that whole story line), but it was still fun, and honestly, at the end, I was quite a bit sad that that was it. (Admittedly, I was also watching it many years after the fact, so that doesn't help things.) I wish IMDb or someone would pick it up. That sort of meta/fun is pretty entertaining when handled well, which this show was (for the most part).

Third - So Help Me Todd is a lot of fun. I love the cast, I love the premise, I love that the crazy relationship between kids and mom is, while constantly there, not something that overbears to the point of making the show unwatchable. Like, she's clearly slightly crazy, but they never go so overboard that you want to give up watching, and every show does end with a relative high point. It's sorta like The Arrow, if, you know, the mom in that show hadn't hidden secret after secret from her kids and pretty much created needless drama just to be drama-centric. Point is, I really do enjoy this show.

Fourth - I may have said this before, I don't remember, but Quantum Leap: good fucking heavens Addison is annoying as hell. Like, I know she's going thru a lot and I understand that, but, like, yikes. It does not make for enjoyable TV. I get that Ben did something stupid, for unknowns reasons, and she's suffering because of that, but like ... at least thru the first 4 episodes ... her actions, reactions, and everything else has just made it painful to keep watching. Not quite sure where they're going with the show's overall/background premise, or the apparent 'villain,' but they're going to need to make some progress quick to get focus off of 'angry Addison'-centric episodes.
