I find it simultaneously funny and infuriating that certain fandoms or fandom people in general will just collectively know songs Against Their Will. For example: the danganronpa fandom’s weird relationship with the song “house of memories” by Panic! At the Disco or how most of the people who are in fandoms know at least some imagine dragons songs. Also most artists in general had or will have a Hamilton phase. I’m sorry, it’s inevitable. It’s funny because when me and a friend were doing art the question of “if we went up to people saying ‘pardon me, are you Arron burr, sir?’ How many would respond in song?” Which devolved into us singing half of that song before going back to the artwork we were working on. Or with that same friend “Take me to Church” by Hozier started playing and we both started singing because I’m pretty sure we’ve both heard it in fandom spaces enough times to just know the lyrics to half of it. Or the fact that both me and that friend didn’t know “love like you” was from Steven universe until I watched the show and told them.
