Last song: At the moment, I have "Losing Your Memory" by Alan Star stuck in my head, which I suppose makes it my current song, not my last song. Hm. I get songs stuck in my head very easily, but the last one I had there for a significant amount of time was a mashup of different language versions of "Les Rois du Monde" for about a week. "Lehetsz Király", the Magyar version, is probably my favorite of them. It's worth a listen.

Currently watching: Normally, the answer would be "random mostly terrible old movies/shows" or "nothing much", but I currently have a hyperfixation on the musical Roméo et Juliette and have been watching it in multiple languages. (Thus, the song).

Three ships: This is hard. Maybe as a result of being on the ace and aro spectrums, I'm more likely to care about which characters are interacting than whether it's romantic or platonic. Here goes:

Kedivere/Bedikay. It can be romantic, platonic, or queerplatonic, but whichever way, I'm here for it. I probably spend too much time thinking about how in Cullwch and Olwen, when Cai gets mad at Arthur and marches out, Bedwyr stays behind, keeps acting like nothing's happened, and isn't the one to avenge Cai's death. The feeling of betrayal on both sides has a lot of unexplored potential. And the version where Bedivere dies and Kay fights to bring his body back safely while mortally wounded himself... And the version where Bedivere survives Camlann and Kay isn't said to fight in it, so they might be left together after their world has fallen apart...

Platonically or queerplatonically, Galahad and the Grail Heroine. I really like the tragic Grail Quest friendships, but I like theirs most, maybe because there's something weird and otherworldly about them both. I like it when characters are strange and endearing and doomed by the narrative.

Ever since reading John Matthews' retelling, which I read before the original, I've had a soft spot for Caradoc and Guinier. The Story of Caradoc is very disturbing, and I have some major qualms with Caradoc over a detail Matthews cut out, but all the same, there's a reason these two have the best track record with magical fidelity tests. Each of them would go to the ends of the earth for the other, and together, they're stronger than any curse.

Favorite Color: Blue, particularly royal blue and some teals.

Currently consuming: Black licorice with chocolate.

First ship: This is a hard one, since through elementary and most of middle school, I tended to go along with whatever I thought the author's intentions were and was more likely to unship something. The first non-endgame ship I got invested in was Sonya/Nikolai in War and Peace. I didn't like Nikolai, but Sonya did, and she was my favorite character, so I wanted her to be happy. The first non-canon couple I thought was meant to be together was also in War and Peace: Marya Bolkonskaya and Julie Karagina. My eighth grade self did not think their letters could be interpreted platonically. I still don't.

Last movie: If the musical doesn't count, the last movie I watched was Quest for Camelot, which was awful. Though not Robot Monster-level bad, Robot Monster has an elegance to its simplicity which Quest for Camelot lacks.

Currently working on: Various fics, most of them Arthuriana or CotRK-related (I am woefully behind on the Badfic Bingo), and (theoretically) an epic-style poem, though I haven't gotten much of it written for quite a while now.

◇ First of all this boy is absolutely autistic. My little autistic ass acted so much like him as a kid, I mean, what autistic 12 year old wouldn't base their entire summer around a weird book full of monsters they found?

◇ I think he's a trans dude and aro/ace, and that his crush on Wendy was more comphet than anything. I'm not really a fan of any ship involving him but I think platonic dipcifica could be cute.

◇ Cryptozoology/The Paranormal is absolutely his main special interest, but he also has an sp/in in computers/comp sci (but he's honestly not great at computer stuff).

Mabel

◇ AuDHD Queen! I think her main special interest is absolutely arts / crafts, I mean look at all the silly things she makes throughout the series as well as her dedication to handmaking dozens of puppets/props/etc as well as writing and entire play to impress her crush of the week in Sock Opera. ◇ I think sexuality wise she's not straight but prefers to be unlabelled. I also like to think she's the type to collect xenogenders / neopronouns like pokemon cards. ( she totally uses a bunch of cat-based pronouns) ◇ Shortly after the series I think she'd get a little less Boys-Crazy and focus more exploring who she is as a person / her self expression. Absolutely is gonna have a mall goth/emo/scene phase (she's smushing all three of those together into one thing for herself).

(I also think Mabel and Dipper were born identical twins)

Grunkle Stan

◇ Also AuDHD, not quite sure what his big main special interest would be but he's absolutely hyperfixated on Ducktective. Also going off the story in Lost Legends I think he'd absolutely be getting into making comics / drawing in general (even if hes not great at it). Post series I think he'd spend a lot of his free time out at sea drawing in the boat's cabin. Mostly making comics of silly re-tellings of he and Ford's adventures out at Sea (he absolutely shows Dipper and Mabel these if he and Ford video calls them when they're on land) ◇ I'm a transfem Stanley truther. He doesn't really realize/come to terms with it until post-series. I think she'd just grow out her hair and throw it in a pony-tail + use she/he pronouns to transition. She'd still use the name Stanley and be fine with both masc/fem terms (ie fine be called a man or a woman). Also he's bisexual (but has known this since he was like a teen, even if he didn't have the words to label it.) ◇ I think his Popsicle addiction from the unaired pilot is real and canon. Old autistic men love popsicles just look at my dad and grandfather.

Ford

◇ Transmasc, somewhere under the nonbinary umbrella but very guy adjacent. Mainly uses he/him pronouns but I think he'd use "it" and "they" aswell. Gay and Arospec as well. ◇ Autism + NPD + Schizophrenia wombo combo. He's sooooo NPD coded its INSANE, I am going to write an essay about it in the future. Goes without saying that his special interests are the paranormal and various sciences, but I think he has a hardcore love for the arts as well. ◇ Going off both the autism and arospec HC- I think he's the type to convince himself he has a crush very easily, when in reality he just has a strong admiration / platonic love for those in question, and had strong platonic feelings for McGucket back in college that he confused for romantic ones (projecting 100000000%) (i think the Stan twins were fraternal twins)

How to write aro/ace codywan for the non-aspec

Want to write something for the aro/ace codywan prompt but you're not sure how or you're afraid you'll offend someone? Here's a hopefully useful post to help you out.

Disclaimer:

I, Yellow, am only one aromantic* person and opinions may differ. This post is to be taken as suggestions for possible configurations of codywan being aro- and/or ace-spec. At the end I'll mention some pitfalls to avoid. *formerly used the label ace for 1+ year, so is fairly familiar with pitfalls for acespec characters as well, but again ymmv.

These suggestions are focused on aro/ace people in relationships. The reason for this is that this is still a ship week, but obviously there are also aro/ace people that are not interested in partnering at all.

Suggestions and pitfalls under the cut! If you, an aro/ace-spec person, have suggestions as well, feel free to reblog them on this post, or to DM/send an ask and I'll add them!

Suggestions:

Note: a QPR = queerplatonic relationship is a relationship type that "queers the platonic". There is no defined list of things that need to or shouldn't occur for a relationship to be queerplatonic. In general you could think of it as being platonic lifepartners, but it's not strange for a QPR to be sexual or even romantic as well.

These suggestions are formatted as: Codywan's specific identities and then a (fluffy) idea for their relationship. There are infinitely many options for how relationships work, and you can definitely mix and match between these "flavors". Angst is a bit more difficult to write, but you could look at the pitfalls and use those to go for a self-doubt/acceptance route.

Flavor: Any. You're more than welcome to write a platonic relationship as well!

Flavor: Codywan are both aromantic and asexual and have no interest in romance or sex: QPR Idea: They have such a close bond as commander and general that they feel like they are integral parts of each others lives and continue on like this after the war.

Flavor: They are not aromantic and one or both of them are asexual: romantic relationship/QPR Idea 1; they don't have sex: "basically" write a romantic relationship without sex. Maybe you can write the conversation they have about their expectations in the relationship. Idea 2; they do have sex: ace people can have sex if they want to, maybe they like the closeness of it or that it feels good, but they may not feel a need for having sex.

Flavor: They are not asexual and one or both of them are aromantic: sexual relationship/QPR Option 1; no romance: Maybe they are friends with benefits and do not consider themselves in a committed relationship. Or maybe they are in a QPR and also enjoy having sex together. Option 2; romance: Maybe they are in a romantic relationship and the aro character enjoys the "romantic" aspects just because they are pleasant to do/experience, but they may not feel a need to do these things with their partner. Here are some ideas from another aro person!

Flavor: One or both of them are demiro and/or demi-ace: anything Demi = you only feel romantic or sexual attraction to people you are already close to (does not mean you feel the attraction to everyone you're close to). Idea: Maybe codywan reaches a certain point in the war where they fully trust each other and have gotten close on a personal level and they get an "oh" moment where they suddenly realize they're attracted to the other.

Flavor: One or both of them are grayro and/or gray-ace: anything Gray- = you only feel romantic or sexual attraction very rarely or weakly (below the "average" for allo people to the point that you relate to aro/ace identities) Here you can have the fun "wait this is what you people have been talking about??" when someone has their first crush ever, but in general you can assume suddenly feeling attraction like that is very unexpected and maybe they find it very impractical to be happening right then.

Flavor: Anything! I am not a spokesperson for the whole aspec community and you're more than welcome to do your own research about identities and relationships.

Pitfalls:

CW for implied ace/arophobia.

Note that these things can be explored when dealing with self-doubt and self-acceptance, but please do not present the things stated below as facts.

When writing aro/ace codywan getting together: do not imply that something has been "fixed" about them.

Do not imply that being a virgin is bad.

When questioned about being aro-/ace-spec, do not make statements such as "but I can still love!!" as this throws people that don't love/are distanced from love under the bus. [see Lovelessness. Originally from the aro community, but valid to use when you're not aro as well]

In that same vein: "love is what makes us human" (or sentient in star wars I suppose) is a no.

Another in that same vein: "But I can still X" statements in general get icky very quickly, as it feels like you need to make up for a lack of something.

Don't portray an ace character as "innocent" or "childish" due to their aceness. Don't portray them as not knowing anything about sex by default unless you have good (relevant) in-story reasons for it. (e.g. Cody doesn't know anything about sex because the clones had no sex-ed and he wasn't interested in learning anyway, or Cody/Obi-Wan knows the anatomical basics but nothing further because they were Not interested.)

Addition by @data-plays-viola: Don't portray ace characters as sex negative by default, unless you have good (relevant) in-story reasons for it. Sex negative asexual people exist but the two are not connected (though some may use their asexuality as an excuse, unfortunately.)

If you write an ace character that has sex, do not imply that this is a redeeming quality. Same for an aromantic character that does romantic things.

Note that not all ace people are sex repulsed and not all aro people are romance repulsed, they may also be indifferent or favourable to the idea. (X repulsed is usually being repulsed by the idea of participating in X, though for some it means being repulsed by X in general.) Do not imply that being sex/romance repulsed is the standard for aspec people.

Note 2: some aspec people see a clear event in their past that had an effect on their sexual and romantic orientations (such as trauma), but for most people being aspec is just as random as e.g. being gay or being trans. Do not attach a reason to a character being aro and/or ace without doing your research into people that feel like that.

Something is clearly off about Izzy, but when Frenchie sees him petting a cat, it finally clicks. Izzy is a fucking witch! In order to protect the crew, Frenchie makes the next obvious step in logic: he has to kill him.

honestly nothing in specific. cis but in a "never really put much thought into it" kinda way. could he be inclined to question or transition? perhaps, but he is too busy cleaning up the giant comical jar of disgusting orange sauce that spilled all over the floor because a customer insisted they could fit a weeks worth of groceries into one cheap reusable grocery bag and it predictably split open and went everywhere and now the whole store smells like nondescript orange sauce and he has a headache from the smell but the manager will be pissed if he closes the register and moves to one further away so he just has to mop it between customers and the stain remains until they redo the nylon in 30 years.

Insane Stories From Belobog's Trash Cans (Honkai: Star Rail Fanfic Anthology Collection)

An anthology collection of random one shot stories, based on my crazy intrusive thoughts while playing Honkai: Star Rail. All sorts of content is included, from random crossovers, to alternate universes, to personal head canons, to serious themes based on real life issues starring the characters, and to crack. It's mostly crack, since the source material is already crazy! No shipping-focused, NSFW, self-insert, or "X-Reader" stories are included, since I'm no good at that stuff and others have plenty of content like that.

Unlike others, I try to also sometimes work in real life issues into them, something that most others don't do; I think it will help me stand out! I just wanted to write hcs of me coming out to my brother bc it didn't specify romantic :)

So we're probably playing some games and it suddenly hits me that I haven't told him yet

Logically, I know he won't judge me but the nerves are still there for some reason??

I, understandably, get distracted from the game and I'm quiet when I'm usually not during games "what's on your mind?" he asks, pausing the game and looking at me

I get snapped back to reality and I'm just "huh? Oh, let's just get back to playing ;;;"

"No, obviously it's important and I should know"

"not really,, "

"You never try this hard to avoid eye contact with me and you're kind of curling up, it's important to you" Kenma stated, analyzing Kai

".... fiNE" Kai huffed, "but you can't judge me, okay? Promise" they held out their pinky for a pinky promise

"do I ever j-"

"just promise, please!"

Kenma hooked his pinky with Kai's and held up his thumb while their pinkies were still hooked "im guessing you want to stamp it?"

"You know me so well" kai smiles and touches their thumb to his then their hands separate and Kai takes a breath to calm down

"well,, uh doyouknowwhataroace-jumpisbecauseimkindaroace-jump" kai said quickly

Kenma, being their brother for his whole life, understood what they said and kai looked like they were about to cry

Kenma pulled Kai into a hug, which was rare for him, Kai usual started the hugs. He patted Kai's head softly, knowing they took as a way to say "I'm proud of you" (actually, now that he thinks about it, he might be the reason for that. He was never good with putting emotions into words or just preferred to talk less so anytime Kai showed him or gave him something he smile a little and pat their head)

"don't cry, I'm so proud of you for telling me, thank you for trusting me with it" he whispered instead of talking since Kai's head was resting on his shoulder. "and I'm never going to think differently of you, especially because of your sexuality"

**few hours later, after its passed*

"look at you, collecting all the flags, huh?" Kenma jokes, referring to Kai being pansexual, aroace-jump, polyam, and genderfluid.

"I only have one more than you!" Kai playfully whines and lightly shoves Kenma's head to the side (I headcanon kenma as Demisexual, Biromantic, and Demiguy/Demiboy [he/they pronouns])

Bakugo

I realize while talking to my sister, Momo-

Well technically she realized cause we were talking about sexualities and she asked if I've told bakugo about being aroace jump and I'm like.... Oh no,,,

Cause like,,, he's probably not gonna judge me but he might,,, and if he doesn't I'm gonna get an earful because I didn't tell him sooner sjnfsk

So i go and knock on his dorm room door after training

Ngl almost chickened out since he didn't answer immediately

But he answered it as soon as I was turning to walk away

He tilted his head a bit and quirked an eyebrow

"u-uh well i-,, um,, "

"Are ya okay?"

"yeah just I wanted to te- I wanted to tell you that i-i'm,,, aroace jump,,, "

Bakugo was silent for a little and Kai panicked before he shook his head as if embarrassed "what does that mean, shorty?"

Kai smiled at the nickname and explained it, basically sweating bullets by the end

"good for you?" Bakugo said, confused "I don't see why you're so nervous?"

Then realization hits nd he's like "?! Did you think I'd be upset with you??"

Kai averts their eyes and nodded

Bakugo sighed and left his doorway going towards Kai, closing the door behind him. He hugged them and rested his chin on their head and closed his eyes

Kai cried out of relief. "don't cry, I would never judge you for this, you can't help your sexuality. Anyone with half a brain knows that, and you know I didn't date you for your body anyway. And tell me when you're on an aro jump, okay? If you're comfortable with either still dating but not hanging out or taking a break all together, it's ok, I want you to be comfortable in, got it?" he said softly, rubbing Kai's back and kissed the top of their head "I love you, this isn't changing how I feel"

He opened his eyes and saw Sero, Mina, Kaminari, and Momo at the beginning of the hallway

"wow, I didn't know you could be all soft!" Kaminari laughed

"SHUT IT, DUNCE FACE!!!" Bakugo let go of Kai facing them letting his hand let of little sparks

Momo ran up to Kai with a smile, picking up their sibling and spinning them in a hug "I'm so proud of you!!" She gushed, setting kai down afterwards. Mina ran over as well and ruffled their black hair with a wide smile "Good Job, Kit Kat!" kai giggled at the nickname, thanking them both

Seriously and Kaminari both approached Kai as well, Bakugo grumbling in the background

"I didn't know that about you! Congrats!" Zero smiled, giving them a fist-bump. "That's amazing! Awesome job!!" Denki smiled brightly and hugged Kai

"what's going on out here...?" Todoroki opened his door after hearing all the noise, being greeted by a shy, blushing Kai, and everyone surrounding them

"I told them I'm aroace jump" kai muttered, scratching the back of their neck

"I'm glad you figured yourself out, Kai" Todoroki smiled softly and retreated back to his room

Kai heard something along the lines of "stay away from them, icy-hot fuck" under Bakugo's breath

Jaehee

Kai sat in the living room, waiting for their girlfriend to get home, trying to calm themselves down

They know for a fact that Jaehee wouldn't judge them but the nerves over took logic. They just found out that they were aroace-jump while she was at work and decided to tell her when she got home.

A few hours, Kai has calmed down, then the door opened and the anxiety came back. "welcome back!" Kai says

Jaehee puts her keys on the hook and sits down beside Kai, turning to them "it there something you need to tell me?" she asked calmly

Kai nodded, their face burning with embarrassment "imaroacejump" they muttered quickly

Jaehee understood and nodded her head, and placed her hand on Kai's leg to calm them down "I'm proud of you, Kai, thank you for telling me this. It takes a lot of courage. I love you, all of you, nothing can change that" Jaehee smiles softly

Light

As soon as they found out, p a n i c

Not because they're worried about Light's reaction

But because they weren't sure if they wanted to tell him right away, but it's impossible to hide anything from Light, he's too good at analyzing people

Kai shows up at his house before he gets there and asks to wait in his room, so now they're sitting on his bed waiting for their boyfriend

Soon enough he enters his room, Kai waves shyly at him while he smiles. He takes of his jacket before giving his lover a hug, Kai is really stiff and basically vibrating

He lets out a huff of amusement "is there something you want to tell me, love?" he asks sitting beside them on the bed

Kai's face burns brighter and smiles at the nickname, it was always nice hearing him call them that, it calmed them down a bit as well

Ryuk was paying attention while eating apples in the corner of the room.

They blinked a couple of times quickly to clear their head "im- I'm aroace jump" they smiled worryingly despite having nothing to worry about.

"what does that mean? Is it a ethnicity?-" Ryuk questioned before getting cut off by Light "it's a sexuality, it's in the name" he sighed before turning back to Kai and holding their hands and smiling

"that's amazing! I'm proud of you" Light tilted his head slightly "tell me when you're on a jump, alright? I want to make sure you're comfortable"

"thank you" Kai smiled, wiping a few tears that fell, they didn't know why they did though.

Ryuk flopped onto the bed behind them, causing Light to look and Kai to turn toward their best friend

"that sounds a bit complicated" Ryuk spoke without thinking "but kind of interesting, tell me more, short stack"

Kai hit him with a pillow "shut up, beanstalk! But fine" they laughed as he hit them back with the pillow "are you trying to start a war?" they asked grabbing the pillow back and hitting him repeatedly with it

I think it’s time to address the Mallorca lesbians comment, isn’t it?

If you’re not from a Catalan-speaking country, you won’t have heard about this, but people in Mallorca (Balearic Islands) are mad, and rightfully so.

This week was the beginning of Palma Pride Week, an event (named in English, of course) that is pretty much the textbook definition of the capitalist party Pride event. It’s held in Palma, which is Mallorca’s capital city, and organized by the association Ella Global Community.

The inauguration speech was given by Kristin Hansen (president of Ella Global Community), who has been living in the island for 15 years but was unable to give the speech in the island’s language (Catalan), because she has never bothered to learn it.

In the speech (in Spanish), she said that Pride is a good opportunity not only for LGBTI people to attend to it, but also “people from the countryside who have never seen a lesbian. They will come and say, ‘Look! A lesbian is just like any other person’. It’s important because you go 15 kilometres inside the island and the mentality changes.”

Of course, Mallorcan people have felt deeply insulted with this ignorant and prejudiced statement.

Legislation and the social normalization of LGBTQIA+ rights has been way more advanced in Mallorca than in Germany (where Kristin Hansen is originary from) for decades, and in the island there has been a grassroots LGBTQIA+ movement for longer than she has lived here. And this movement was born from the Mallorcan people, in all the island, and not from rich tourists nor only in the capital. The organization Ben Amics has been working since 1994. Same-sex marriage has been legal in the Balearic Islands since 2001, while in Germany it was only legalized in 2017.

The matter is easy: everyone wants to live in paradise, so many people from Northern Europe move to beautiful Mallorca or other sunny Mediterranean places; but nobody wants to live with its people. Hansen has showed absolute ignorance and disrespect towards Mallorcan people, accusing them falsely and acting like we need them Germans or Central/Northern Europeans to save us and bring us to progress. Well, that’s false. Mallorcans are way ahead of Germany when it comes to LGBTQIA+ rights, and they don’t go around saying “those backwards people from Hünstetten and Waltershausen will see a lesbian for the first time thanks to us!”

There are lesbians everywhere. And there are gay, trans, bi, ace, aro, intersex, questioning and queer people everywhere. But there are also self-centered and ignorant people everywhere. The Palma City Hall should not have left the organization of an event like this one to someone with this prejudiced mindset.

Mallorcan organizations are asking Ella Global Community to apologize for her words and to change the objectives of Palma Pride Week. Because, right now, this is how Kristen Hansen described the event: "We will position Mallorca as an LGBTQI destination. It's a business opportunity: LGBT tourism spends much more money than the average tourist, about 180,000 million dollars, and it's an interesting, learned, and pleasant tourism."

Exactly one day after the Federació d'Entitats Veïnals de Palma (Federation of Neighbour Associations of Palma) met with the city hall to demand measures against the massification of tourism and the gentrification it brings, Hansen said that they expect Pride Week will bring between 7,000 and 10,000 tourists to the Sa Feixina neighborhood in one week. She added "Then these people will come here and buy apartments. We make a living from tourism, from real estate, from ships", as if it were a good thing.

Palma Pride Week's programme is centered on conferences about entrepreneurship, yoga, and "soul worshipping" to make the collective visible and to make Palma "the cosmopolitan city we want it to become". No, Palma is a city where local people can barely afford to continue to live in, where massive tourism doesn't let them live their lives.

The interests shown by Ella Global Community and its wealthy members are aligned with the interests of rich owners who are making life hell for the inhabitants of the island. They don't represent the interests of Mallorcan LGBTQIA+ people. In their objective of creating a paradise for rich LGBT tourists, they are kicking out local people, including local LGBTQIA+ people.

Ben Amics organizes a Pride month too, this year titled "30 years of fight: rights and resilience", with a programme that actually aims to fight, raise awareness and discuss gender and sexual diversity and dissidence. Created by Mallorcan LGBTQIA+ people answering to their needs. If you are going to support a Pride event in Mallorca, be it this one.

My rationale behind most of these is “i am aroace and these are the vibes I get”. Reminder that asexuality and aromanticism can appear independent of each other. When I specifically say a character is aroace, it means I see them as both. I also defined any more specifc/lesser known ace/aro labels used in the explanantion. This is in no way intended to be deep analysis 😂

Linhardt - no one can tell me this man experiences any sexual attraction, drive, or motivation. The only feeling he gets when finding out “want to sleep together?” isn’t literal is disappointment. I think this take isn’t that hot. 

Hubert -  this one’s like extremely specific but he experiences romantic attraction rarely, and even then he doesn’t know how the fuck to distinguish between romantic attraction, The Trauma™, and platonic feelings (in terms of labels, I get gray-aro/quoiromantic). Basically, I don’t see him falling in love more than once in his life. I also think he’s a sex-favourable ace in the sense that he’s super kinky but doesn’t project those fantasies onto a specific person. 

Bernadetta - we’re getting specific again! I think she’d be aegosexual (no desire to engage in sex herself, but can feel sexual arousal from fantasies about other people/fictional characters). 

Caspar - someone said the words “ace Caspar” to me once and they have not left my brain so there you go

Dimitri - this might be a hot take but i saw sexy Dimitri fanart and went “why am I not vibing with this” and realized I spent my entire AM playthrough unknowingly headcanoning this man as ace. I think Dimitri not only doesn’t want to have sex, but is actively terrified of it. Given his strength, self-loathing, and general relationship cluelessness, he’s in no position to try. He’d experience extreme guilt and angst at the thought of not being able to keep his family line alive so angst writers, do your thing. (Side note: I actually think that he’d end up doing what Edelgard was always going to do and select a successor unrelated to him because of this!) 

Claude - this is an even hotter take but I don’t get any romantic energy from him. I don’t ship him with anyone and I never saw any romantic chemistry between him and Byleth. I do think it’s cool that he’s the lord that’s not in love with you until you make it romantic. (I just wouldn’t make it romantic lmao). 

Mercedes - idk something about wanting to become a nun sounds p ace to me. I don’t have super firm stance on this tho

Lysithea - I genuinely don’t know if this is “she’s portrayed as a child/younger so shipping her with others makes me uncomfy” or “I just don’t see her having romantic or sexual chemistry with anyone” but she’s aroace to me

Leonie - she seems very unconcerned with the idea of romance and more content to do her own thing. I think her solo ending is good for her - she just lives her mercenary dreams to her heart’s content.

Mentally holding my hands to my temples here during what has already been a not great brain week because someone went and revived the version of my one “Hey, so aro and/or ace people definitely feel pretty excluded from fandom” vent post that others have since twisted into a defensive shipping manifesto, and while I am used to most of the sorts of tags people leave on it saying horrible things about me, someone today went on an angry rant about how they don’t like to read/write gen fic because they want the stories they engage with to be queer, really driving home the whole point of my frustrated aro, ace, trans self saying that maybe looking at things through some different lenses sometimes, even if just to be inclusive of others, might be a good idea.
